I went to Siam Bistro last August when i was visiting Boston. After a almost 20 hr bus ride, I was wondering on the street looking for sth to wake up my taste bud. I saw Thai, so I went in with no doubt. Boss and waitress are very friendly. Looks like a family business (I have a thing for family business) I ordered Siam Paradise Noodle. I was very surprised to see the rich seafood inside the noodle soup. The broth is very nice too if you appreciate fish sauce. I really like the squid, very tasty and not over cooked. It was a very nice dish, just the scallop tasted a little bit plain. Overall, it is not like like some place that after your first bite will be like OMG. THIS IS AMAZING. But, it will be some place for a quick and happy lunch or dinner.

I am so disappointed. We went there for lunch today and two of our orders were un-edible. My friend had crispy pad thai once before and it had noodles in it with some crisp. Today we both received a disgusting order of fried noodles. It was a complete waste of $20. Both are now in the garbage. Called up to find out why there where no pad thai noodles like he had last time and they said it was just fried rice noodles. This is not what was served before. They just kept arguing on the phone. Did not try to resolve the issue. Nothing. For $20 worth of wasted food you lost a lot of future business since we are so close and order a few times a month. I generally don't leave bad reviews but this was ridiculous.

I'm hoping that were was a major earth shattering event that screwed them up so badly that people were waiting for like 30-45 minutes for lunch. Sure, ask yourself why would anyone wait that long but once you've ordered, paid, and have been waiting you are going through with the crazy commitment of just getting food on your lunch break. So when I went a few weeks back I had some crazy wait. Not as bad as 45 minutes but some woman there waited that long ans she was more than happy to let everyone else know about it. I think that waiting over 20 minutes for some pad thai is just too long. While their pad thai was good for financial district thai I think I will just head in the opposite direction for thai in Chinatown. I ordered their shrimp pad thai thinking that is classic (like ordering spaghetti and meatballs at an Italian place) thing to prepare. Everyone knows it and can compare it to other places so it is your goal to serve it well, no? Well it was done decently with a few shrimp and plenty of peanuts on top. Hopefully they will sort out their problems with staffing/cooking at lunch to run things smoothly and to avoid long waits. I hear they are open for dinner so maybe I can give them another try if I work late.

When I relocated back to Boston April 2014, I was scrambling to replace my thai fix I developed in NYC. I ordered from Siam a few times via Seamless and while the food was middle of the road (3 of 5 stars for food + price alone), the most recent deliveries over the past 2 months (4 separate occasions) have been terrible. Of the last 4 deliveries, the last 3 each took between 2 and 2.5 hours! This was for an order of pad thai, a green curry dinner special, and beef satay (the regular order). The first late delivery I chalked up to a rainy day and more deliveries, the second late time I chalked up to just plain old bad luck, but the third (and last) time was simply for "traffic." I understand multiple deliveries and cooking time can increase a delivery, but the restaurant is 12 minutes from my house by car. I placed the order at 625, and it showed up around 840. I called to check in 75 minutes after I ordered and the woman said I should call back in 15 minutes and ask again!

Reclusive apartment trolls need food too. So I decided to order from here this evening (Delivery, OF COURSE) I ordered the teriyaki salmon with steamed veggies + an extra side of steamed veggies. The salmon was a tad overcooked, and sort of dry, but still quite tasty. The vegetables were absolutely DELICIOUS though! Super fresh and very very yummy. I'll definitely order from here again because A) They actually DO deliver here- although they are a mile away, there are tons of places who are closer and will not deliver here. Why no love for the West End? B) The delivery gal was super sweet and actually was happy, friendly person unlike some of the characters who I open the foyer door to. Really great overall. Ohm nom nom!

I've complained before about the orders they place for me but honestly the food is so good i have to put the stars back up! SOOO good. if you are in downtown and want Thai, go here and no where else! This is the second time they have messed my order up. The first time I ordered Spicy Crispy Chicken Basil but was given the Chicken Basil which doesn't have the fried, breaded chicken that I love! Today I ordered Crispy Chicken Pad Thai and instead I got the Crispy Noodle Chicken Pad Thai. Suggestions: Siam - ask follow up questions if you are confused about what we order and know the differences between similar named dishes. Customers - when you order out, remove the staple and check the food before leaving. You might have an unpleasant surprise if you don't.

I order food often from here since it's right across from where I work and am routinely impressed by the quality and the promptness. You can order your food on GrubHub and pick it up when it's ready which is even better since you don't have to sit around waiting. During peak hours, this place gets pretty busy. It's awkward since people are just lingering around waiting for their food. If you choose to dine in the restaurant, there is limited seating (probably 15-20 seats). As for the food, I have never been disappointed. From their Pad Thai to their Yellow Curry, it is seriously some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten. They are consistently good. This isn't a place that I'd take anyone on a date to, but this is a great place when you're in a bind for time during lunch, or working late in the office. Definitely check it out.

I have only gotten delivery from Siam and I have very rarely been disappointed. My favorite is their green curry with shrimp and tofu and a side of brown rice, yum yum. The broth is super flavorful I can always been seen drinking it out of the bowl, no shame. Its a great balance of spice and is packed with the protein and veggies. The pad thai is also a classic but can be a hit or miss. If you don't ask for it spicy it is generally flavorless and doesn't look very appetizing. The tom yum soup is uber spicy and is like a silky flavorful jalapeño running down your throat, as you can see I love spicy. Delivery takes about an 1 or so and I don't work to far from here. Im not sure if its a lunch time rush (that happens at all hours of the day) or what but it does take a while for it to arrive.

I love their Crispy Basil Chicken. I made it my Friday eat-lunch-out destination. I'll add their fried dumplings to the order as well. It is a very small place with limited counter seating. I always do take out and eat at my desk. It is a little pricier than the other local lunch destinations, but for good Thai food it is about the going rate.

"I'm sorry but we do not have tap water, only bottles of water for purchase." --Siam Bistro Staff. Ok, really nbd though, I'll buy a darn bottle of water, I'm not THAT cheap. So the service was pretty much what you'd expect, but the food was exactly what a 3 star rating embodies: "A-OK." Try the duck soup, but trust me, you don't need to get double noodles, I'm serious, I don't care if you haven't eaten in a week, don't do it. Overall, it's a solid dish, and super tasty with just the right kick of spice. Don't bother with the calamari. Obviously from a frozen bag, fried, no flavor, served on a paper plate. Not worth it. So basically, it's open on the weekend in the otherwise desolate Financial District, and the food is decent, so there it is.

  • Krystle B.

This place is not that good and they take forever on your orders! Getting lunch here is really a struggle, even when ordering ahead online. Beyond that, the food isn't even that great. I've tired to pad see ew and pad thai, and both times I was pretty disappointed. I asked to make it spicy, and for spice on the side; neither request accommodated. The pad see ew came in lots of liquid, its like the dish was supposed to be a soup...but its not. Just not very good altogether. With the servers being rude, wait time being long, and the food being below par... skip it. Go to U&D kitchen down the street instead.

    (2)
  • Janet K.

Greasy and salty, and they go light on the meat (most dishes were heavy on rice and noodles). We ordered here because they're the only place in the financial district that opened late but will definitely look for more options next time!

I've ordered delivery for a large group several times and they have always delivered on time and we've never had errors with our orders! Personally, I've had the Pad C U and the Kua Gai, both were excellent!

  • Olka P.

Ordered seafood Pad-C-U for delivery through grubhub. It was impossible to eat. Muscles and scallops smelled and tasted rotten. I felt queasy couple of hours after trying couple of bites and am still feeling bad. I hope I won't need to go to hospital tomorrow. I returned the dish and asked to exchanged it to regular pad thai. Manager called me back and questioned me on whether I know how seafood should taste. I eat seafood often, raw and cooked, and I never tasted anything as disgusting as this dish. She then brought pad thai. It was not as disgusting as seafood pad-c-u but it was far from good and I had to throw it away. I recommend staying away from this place.

Astoundingly good food. Do yourself a favor and order in advance because the place is very small. Their crispy basil chicken is one of my all time favorite meals.

Sooo good! Love getting lunch from here. The staff have always been friendly and pleasant, and the food is yummy. What more do I need?

I had the absolute WORST delivery experience from this restaurant. They get one star for being on time. That's it. I got stir fried udon noodles with just veggies. I specified no carrots or onions. Guess who got a chicken surprise! THIS girl did. womp. I don't mean to prim and pluck, but if I were allergic or a vegetarian...well then what?? -keels over and dies- Manfriend got the red curry. The only thing right about that order was the brown rice. He got maybe three whole pieces of chicken and it wasn't spicy. Our chicken wings were also soggy and doused in sauce. I never knew chickens were made to swim. This was terrible. I won't be reordering or coming here.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHITTY PLACE!!! Thorough unprofressionals, total mismanagement. It takes 25 mins for a simple order during Lunch hours (not due to Crowd rush). My friend ordered a Crispy Chicken Pad Thai and the waitress gave Crispy Pad Thai. After the waitress realizing their mistake, they did not even exchange it for the correct item and gave the Crispy Chicken Pad Thai to some other person. Sad Sad people really.

So.. after writing all those nice comments... I had the worst experience of my life with the cashier the other night... We ordered soup... yes soup... no noodles... how can you mess that up... simple you would think ....I went to pick up the take out, and the soup had noodles, i stated we didn't want noodles in our soup... she stormed off in her foreign tongue.. came back screaming "you order noodles" kept on calling me "lady" and kept saying "you order this". This place is extremely small, and you can see everything... I witnessed the chef take the noodles out with a fork and his hands out of my container, and then give it to the nasty cashier to give back to me. I am done with this place... It scares me to think how many times I have got take out there....

We ordered delivery during a blizzard and our order arrived within the hour...so I have to admit I probably added a star just for that. The Nua Nom Tok salad was fantastic, as was the Basil Fried Rice. The Panang Curry wasn't done in the style we prefer, it was more of a saute than a soupy sauce. The Pad Thai was basic but good.

The Larb Gai is authentic and very good. Will make Thai people happy. Great prices for lunch and dinner

This place has above average Thai food. The masaman curry is out of this world delicious. The fried coconut shrimp comes with a fantastic orange marmalade. My wife got the pad thai and said it was very good. I ate her leftovers the day after and I would have to agree. I highly recommend this restaurant for delivery to South Boston.

    (4)
  • Sara C.

Below average Thai fare. Tom yum soup lacked flavor. Spicy basil stir fry is loaded with oil and super spicy despite a request for "mild." The Pad Thai was okay, though it was served with beef instead of the chicken we requested. And it lacked flavorful and texture-laden additions like peanuts, crunchy bean sprouts and fresh lime. We ordered delivery through foodler (since the yelp delivery mechanism wasn't working) - they delivered in the window they promised though the delivery guy was "missing" when we got to our building's lobby. Seems he was hanging out inside his car instead. Rice is not included with any entree.

  • Jazzy J.

The food can be really good if they do what you ask but the delivery wait is long and even when you order online for pick up you wait over an hour. Decent food bad customer service!

This is a bit misleading because it's not my typical "restaurant review", but I was so happy to discover Siam Bistro in the Financial District that I wanted to write about them. Tired of the choices here in my neighborhood, I recently ordered from Siam Bistro for delivery after I found their flyer in my apartment. I started my dinner with an order of Tom Yum Noodle Soup ($10.95) a spicy Thai hot and sour soup that has scallions, bean sprouts, ground peanuts and plenty of shellfish. Unlike many Thai restaurants in Boston, Siam Bistro doesn't skimp on the seafood, which it fills with octopus, mussels and shrimp. The portion is large enough to serve as a meal or to share. This soup was so tasty I couldn't help but over indulge. It was also the first time I've ever ordered this soup in Boston and thought - damn, that's spicy so if you like a bit of heat with your meal, this is an obvious and delicious option to consider. I opted to order their "most popular dish", Mango Curry ($12.95), which was also a bit spicy but less so than the soup and really quite delicious as well as large enough to be shared especially if you order a side of brown rice. Boston has more than its share of mediocre Thai restaurants and I'm by no means an expert on this cuisine, but the food tasted as if it was freshly made, the plates that indicated they were spicy (actually were spicy) and the portions were generous. Add to that fact that they delivered to my home in less than 45 minutes and the driver was exceptionally polite; and I couldn't help but rave about them.

I would give this ZERO stars if I could. Absolute worst service ever! I work in the financial district and order often from the nearby restaurants. My first time with Siam and definitely my last. I'm located 2 blocks away from Siam and they took almost 2 hours to deliver my one lunch dish. I wasn't able to eat it before my back to back meetings. They screwed up my dish. Cold, dry, lunch at 3p. Then when I called they were entirely unapologetic. Never again. I'm sticking to Lanta Asian Cuisine they know how to make great Thai.

Siam Bistro is actually a rather cute little place on a corner by the Greenway with two small tables and perhaps 10-12 seats set along a winding counter. My take-out order placed via Foodler was ready when I arrived, so I took it and went. I was provided with plastic fork and knife and napkins, but I had to request the chopsticks. In my plastic take-out container were two large scoops of brown rice (as requested) filling up perhaps half the space. The rest of the space was packed with large chunks of eggplant, slices of white meat chicken, onions, peppers (both red and green), yellow squash, and fresh basil leaves. The sauce was tasty, the chicken a little dry (yet not overly so), and the veggies retained a bite. After consuming just over half, I was well satiated for lunch. But wait... I had ordered the Eggplant Delight $9.95 because I was interested in getting something with eggplant and tofu that wasn't spicy. (Description verbatim from the menu: Sauteed chicken with peppers, onion, yellow bean curd, garlic, basil and eggplants) I guess it was a typo, with "bean curd" mistakenly typed in the place of "squash." Sad... so sad... And the price was a tad high for a regular lunch thing.

  • Brett J.

I go here for lunch most every day. It is so good! There are only a handful of tables, and most people take their food to go (and order ahead). I love the vegetable Tom Yum soup, the chicken or beef Gra Prow or the chicken basil.

    (5)
  • Jack B.

Solid Thai food. You can get a solid rice or noodle lunch dish for under $10, all very tasty and they usually have it ready 15min after you call. This place is great for take-out; the restaurant itself is pretty small so finding a table sit down at is a crap shoot.

  • Jane S.

It was convenient to my work location, and I placed an order through their website. Couldn't complain too much about the service, but the food just tastes very bland. In fact, it is just water boiled vegetables and chicken meat with minimal thai peanut sauce. I don't eat a lot, but the portion is so small that I left hungry even after lunch. I wouldn't recommend here unless you run out of food options.

    (2)
  • Chris N.

45 minutes is too long to fill a lunch order of one simple entree. The red curry sauce is excellent, but I got twice as much bamboo as duck, and only a scant few other shreds of bell pepper and basil. I'm unlikely to go back. Expensive as well.

    (2)
  • Vanessa A.

I've ordered from here a few times for lunch and the food is consistently good. It's not the best ever but it's definitely tasty (I especially love the rangoons and the Bulgoki). The delivery time though will be a minimum of an hour even though they are literally only a half mile from my office. They should definitely hire more delivery people to help speed things up.

    (4)
  • Abbie M.

Great, convenient location and friendly staff. It's just a little place tucked away with seating for maybe 15. No one was actually eating there, it was all takeout. The price-to-amount-of-food ratio is a little skewed. Not sure if it was just me, but my chicken pad thai container was literally half full. Typically when I order Thai, the amount is easily enough for 2. I was planning to share with a coworker but once we got the food and she looked into the container she went, "That's it??" And then she got something else. The food itself was definitely good, but for a dish that is 9/10ths rice noodles, it wasn't worth the $10.

  • Alyssa A.

Fantastic food, kind staff, timely deliveries, I can't say enough about Siam Bistro! I've tried other local Thai restaurants (that deliver) and they don't compare... I always come back. I'm a HUGE fan of the Spicy Basil Chicken (very spicy) and the Pad Thai. Siam Rolls, Coconut Shrimp, Green Curry and Tom Yum Soup are also delicious. I've honestly never been inside their physical restaurant, so I can't speak to that. I can only speak to the quality of the food and staff interactions.

  • Jake K.

worst customer service ever. I placed an order 2 hours ago and I'm still waiting for the food! unaceptable. this was the last time I've ordered from this place.

    (1)
  • W W.

Long wait times a big minus here. Order in advance. Better Thai places around so only go here if you are close by and not in rush. By the time you get your meal here you could be in Chinatown at a nicer place for same price. Very little seating here and what they have suffers from the vagaries of winter blast from the takeout customers coming in.

    (1)
  • Dawn A.

Yuck. I ended up throwing my entire dish away. The meat was supposed to be beef but it didn't resemble any beef that I've ever seen before. I won't go back. Bad day? Maybe. There are way too many better options like Thai Bistro and Lanta.

We ordered Siam Bistro for delivery last night after finding a wayward, stray menu in our apartment lobby. It's a little on the pricey side (in my ever-so-humble opinion) but when we got the food it ended up being worth it. I ordered the Phu-Ket Fried Rice (spicy seafood and veggies) and I requested "mild" heat. I'm glad I did because I can't imagine how my esophagus would have felt if the heat had been racheted up a few levels! It was very good and they were heavy handed with the seafood. We also ordered the Ginger Chicken (SO says it was super tasty and he ate the whole thing so I believe him). The Crab Rangoon was really good and for a change, they have a pineapple dipping sauce (rather than sweet and sour). Yum. Finally, we were feeling fat so we also ordered the spring rolls. Delish. All of that came to just over $47.00 (with tip and delivery fee). Definitely good food and we will be ordering again!

Piping hot prompt friendly delivery featuring melt in mouth calamari, toothsome shumai and light, tasty, fresh dipping sauces. Ask for curry spicy and you will be rewarded with the freshest vegetables and basil. They take your breath away for a minute but bring you back with subtle, lingering flavor.

I was looking for something fast and easy but needed to stay close by to meet up with my bff from the "country". She was going to come off I 93 and I knew if she drove in the city she'd get lost and be miserable (understatement on the miserable...more like fuming). Starving as I hadn't had lunch I needed food and debated on if I should go into Biddy's but once in Biddy's I may not come out and I'd be sure to miss her arrival. So I wandered in and found a great little place that made my mouth water. What can I get that is fast and easy - to go? I was directed to get the rice or noodles but I had a horrible vision of me dumping it all over myself as I stood on the side of Pearl with my 10 lb backpack. So I opted for finger food and went with the Siam Spring rolls and fried dumplings. I knew these scrumptious juicy morsels were packed with a zillion Weight Watcher points but this was an emergency! My bff needed me to drive her to the Wang "in time" to catch the showing of Grease and I knew I didn't have time to actually sit and eat. The place is small so it may get crowded and busy during lunch but it was the end of the day so I was the only one there. My backpack was filled with my work stuff and presents for my country mouse so it was great to sit and relax. The guy who took my order was really nice as I scanned the menu, placed my order and dropped the kitchen sink at one of the tables. He knew I was in a hurry and was great about getting me my order fast. I took my bag of goodies and raced down street to wait. Of course I tried to munch and move at the same time and am surprised I didn't burn my tongue when I bit into the rolls. There were 5 of them and about six dumplings, I think. I lost track since I was hurrying to eat as I saw her pull up to the curb. The spring rolls were just the right size and amount. They were crispy with a soft center but not greasy. The pork dumplings were smaller than I would have expected but they were still good. Thank you Siam Bistro for filling my belly while on the go! I'll be back when I can stay for a while.

Sometimes when you're drinking at Biddy's you just don't want a burger or a chicken sandwich or fries. No, who am I kidding. That's not true. But in the rare event that Biddy's kitchen is closed already, Siam Bistro to the rescue. I had tofu in garlic sauce and it was plain delightful. I would happily order from here again.

The only reason this amazing take out restaurant gets 4 stars is because it is not a fancy place. However the pad Thai I ordered was delicious, hot and so fresh. Perfect balance of sweet and tangy and probably the best pad Thai takeout ever. Good portion too, more than one serving but I'll probably eat most of it anyway!very friendly service as well.

  • Lindsay F.

I eat the gra pow gai (spicy fried basil with chicken) at least once a week. I used to live in Thailand and this is the best gra pow I've found in Boston. Order with the fried egg on top. YUM!

  • Ken P.

It's really solid Thai food, although it has two major drawbacks: 1) Seating area is sort of limited, so it's more of a take out place (but there's no great place to stand to wait for take out either) 2) You can wait a long time for food, especially during peak hours. But, it's a solid little place and close to where I work, so I have no real complaints about it. The Chicken Satay and Spring rolls are good, and I have yet to be disappointed with an entree, although I don't recommend the Bulgoki... It's not that it's bad. It's just that I've had better at Korean places. But, that's what I get for ordering Korean at a Thai place I suppose.

    (4)
  • Cassandra B.

This is the go-to place for dinner when my coworkers and I find ourselves staying in the office very late. Fast service, the atmosphere seems like a place designed for takeout. I always keep my order simple- pad thai and maybe fried spring rolls (sorry for my improper terminology) if I have had a really bad day. Never disappointed- always delicious, fast, and piping hot.

    (4)
  • Andrew H.

We've ordered from here at work and they always mess up our order. We'll order around 10 entrees and at least one will be missing... that always sucks, especially if it's your order they missed. I have only found one entree I've actually really liked and that was the Lo Mein noodles (N7 or something). Everything else has been extremely bland, way too hot (like, mask the flavor, if there is any), or just plain dry or soggy. Anything with shrimp will come with like 2 actual shrimp and they are nasty and aren't de-shelled completely.

  • Basia P.

For the price you pay and the fast service - this is as good as it gets! The best part: the food does not feel too greasy... so no stomach ache afterwards:)

Great lil place for lunch. Good portions. Loved the Thai iced tea. I'd suggest arriving a bit earlier than noon 'coz it gets crowded very quickly.

One of my favorite places to eat around here. Killer fresh rolls and amazing curry dishes. The dining area is not huge, but usually you can squeeze in somewhere, or on a nice day - take the take out to the greenway. The service is always friendly and the food is prepared quickly.

  • Bianca T.

Food good, fast delivery ... but order incomplete and when I called to fix it the guy on the phone was rude ... never apologized ... and didn't offer to fix it ...I was left stunned .. NOT going to order again ... too many delicious thai restaurants in the city ...

    (1)
  • Aaron D.

Fantastic pad thai (only dish I've tried so far), but the people are always friendly. My only real complaint is that the portions are fairly small compared to other thai places (yet the prices are the same - if not more). Oh yeah and everything is served in a to-go container.

  • Kate H.

I really couldn't be more disappointed with this place. We have 3 Thai restos in a small area here in the FiDI and two of the three are just unacceptable. Siam Bistro is one of them. This is the third time I've ordered a dish with tofu and the tofu is well spoilt. Each time I've called and told them. They say thanks and never offer me an option to have a meal that isn't spoilt. They deny the tofu is bad and hang up. This assessment/review is over time period of 8-9 months. Thought they'd have their act together by now.

I have a confession: I've been cheating on Rock Sugar Cafe with Siam Bistro. I feel a little guilty about it, but after one bite it usually goes away. This place is, so far, the best 'fast food' Thai that I have found in the area. Luckily I didn't experience it when there were crazy long lines, as now you can pop in and out with a pretty short wait. But more importantly, the food is good and tastes fresh, too.

    (4)
  • Mariana R.

Got delivery - crab rangoons were folden and crispy, with a stuffing rich in crabmeat (as opposed to most places that give you mostly cream cheese). The pineapple sauce was a nice touch! The Pad Si Ew was also delicious - great ratio of noodles to vegetables and meat!

  • Kimmy T.

Solid take-out Thai food in the Downtown/Financial district. So far I've taken out 3 times (pad thai, curry, fried ice cream) and haven't been disappointed! Siam Bistro has a few seats where you can sit down and eat, but definitely looks more like a take-out joint than a bona fide restaurant. Good portions & tasty.

  • Greg L.

This place makes it into my bi-weekly lunch rotation. The food is fresh and very flavorful. Beats Rock Sugar hands down any day of the week. Some people are saying it's not authentic. The people who work there have accents like they're fresh off the boat (and names to match) so I don't think it's a matter of knowing how to make "real" Thai food. All I know is it taste good. The people complaining about the wait are probably the same ones who get out of their seats and form a line to get off the train. If you want bad Asian-ish food kept warm under a heatlamp go to Jane's and serve yourself. This food is FRESH. MADE. TO. ORDER. Call ahead and it'll be ready by the time you walk down the street to get it.

Because there are so few Asian meal options in the financial district, Siam Bistro can be a welcomed change to one's lunch routine. However, the restaurant just isn't at the capacity it should be to handle the lunch crowd of working professionals who want to bring their food back to the office. I've been to this spot a few times and the wait was around 15 minutes the first two visits. Alright, fine--I can handle that. However, the last time I stopped in, I waited for nearly a half hour. Perhaps that's reasonable for sit-down dining but certainly not when you're waiting for takeout to bring back to the office. During the lunch-time hours, Siam Bistro seriously needs to beef up its staff. On my most recent visit, I ordered the red curry. I was disappointed by the insane amount of rice that was included. Less filler, more curry, please! Also, I was bummed to see they seriously skimped out on the coconut milk. My recommendation to all those working in the financial district: Hold off on your Thai cravings at lunch. You might as well wait for the after-work hours when you can venture out to a restaurant elsewhere in the city like Chilli Duck or Brown Sugar Cafe.

we had the basil fried rice and pad say you. the food was great but i can see why people punish them for taking so long by giving out 2 stars. we were fortunate to be the only ones there so food came out in 15 minutes and it was delicious! i've had better thai tea back in la but considering how late it was, we were just so glad to get some decent thai food in otherwise closed down financial district. siam bistro was a god send from saving us from another fast food run back in back bay.

Food gets 4.5 stars, speed of service gets 1 star. I, too, am a long-time Rock Sugar fan, brought here by another Rock Sugar fan who, ironically enough, grew tired of the wait at Rock Sugar. The way around the wait is to call in your order from your desk before you go. And please do so, because the food is great, and I have to say that it's just as spicy and a little bit lighter than Rock Sugar. I'll definitely go back, probably when it's warmer and I can take it to the Greenway to eat. But I will call ahead to save the wait, because it can get crowded and it can take a while, esp. for a Friday lunch.

Went here when Biddy's kitchen closed for pre-drinking (ok, ok maybe a little bit post-drinking) alcohol cushioning. Inside is cute - they have really neat chairs with the seating set up as a bar. I ordered Pad Thai to go (around $11). It was good - but not THAT good. They also only had one size available which is unfortunate. Open till ten on saturdays.

The food is great if you have an American palate aka burger king rocks. The food is sadly nowhere near authentic enough to get high marks. The waits are crazy 20 plus minutes is a no no in this part of town. I would rather take the train over to Chinatown and pick up food called in then pay the overpriced fees for water down Asian food with long waits.

3.9 Stars The long lines are gone. The food is actually quite good. My lunch fav The Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao) are well seasoned/spiced, as are most things marked thus. So, is it a Rod Dee or S&I class place? Not quite but is decent. Prices are what you expect at the Waterfront/Financial district. * just a take out seating is not comfortable. * compromises somewhat on the heat but they have the chuncky garlic chili sauce in little containers. * quality veggies used in dishes, always crisp and fresh * curious to see Bulgoki and Udon on a Thai menu? * current wait times are under 10 min

Good little Thai food place, awesome location. Nice big portions and a good price. They get really busy during lunch hours, so your best bet is to call ahead for your orders. On top of that, its one of the few restaurants in the financial district that doesn't close super early so you can have dinner there after work or even take-out.

Have been waiting for the longest time for this place to open. A Thai restaurant opened in the financial district and it doesn't close at 5pm like all the other restaurants on the same street. Even better was the huge sign they put outside saying it's 30% off the entire menu to celebrate the grand opening. I must say that I was a bit disappointed with the service and the food. We only ordered take out. One time, we called and when we arrived to pick up the order, we found that the order was never called into the kitchen. Already waited over 5 minutes to get to the front of the line for service. Didn't want to wait another 10-15 for the food. Second time was a bit better. We got some food. Unfortunately, they messed up on the order. Someone within the group ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup. In the description, there's seafood. No seafood here. I think they gave us the Chicken noodle soup instead. I'll attribute this to the opening week issues. As for the food, the Pad Thai was at best average. Two overcooked shrimps and maybe a quarter of a whole chicken breast worth of meat. It was a bit bland for my tastes and I think they just use the "Pad Thai" sauce from a can. The Siam dumplings had no flavor. We ordered it steamed, but I wished we ordered it fried so I could at least taste something, even if it's the greasy oil. The dipping sauce was heavily relied upon to finish the dumplings. The one thing that I did enjoy was the red bean ice cream. Not a lot of places offer that, so it's always a treat whenever I find it.

I've eaten here twice and enjoyed my lunch both times. The lo mein noodles are a little oily but they are quite tasty. I have also tried to the duck fried rice and it was good albeit a little fatty (although duck is known as a fattty meat as it is). I definitely plan on continuing to eat here. as it is tasty and has decent prices for downtown Thai food during lunch. Also, the scallion pancakes are delicious but you have to eat them right away or they get soggy!

Spicy Wing - fried crisp with a sweet and spicy sauce. These are killer - 7 wings, $6.50. Walked these back 2 blocks to work - they were still extremely hot temperature wise. Spice level is high - a sweet and spicy chili oil with lots of red pepper flake. If you are getting this appetizer as your lunch or snack, make sure you order a side of rice to soak up the left over sauce. Definitely ordering these again.

Best Thai food in the area. If u like spicy I would order the "Sidewalk" with garlic rice. Comes with eggs and chicken and a really good zing. Great lunch option in financial district just make sure u call your order ahead because they do get busy.

I have always liked Siam Bistro. I work in the financial district and have been there several times for take out at lunch. I especially enjoyed their pad thai...that is, until today. I was about to put my pad thai onto a plate ay my workplace when I discovered a short black hair (and I know it was not mine because I have long blonde hair). I was somewhat skeeved out, but I removed it forgivingly and continued to scoop the noodles onto my plate. Then, I found SEVERAL more black HAIRS!!! Needless to say I dumped the entire dish into the trash. I paid $24 for pad thai and sweet and sour chicken just to throw it away. Please, if you can't keep your hair out of the customer's food, wear a hair net! I loved you Siam Bistro, but after this experience I am never going back. I am utterly disgusted.

Food is OK. Portions for pad thai are definitely smaller than pretty much all of the other Thai places around the area however.

Awesome! My favorite chicken gra pow- spicy and yummy with lots of veggies. Chicken pad thai is delicious- a little hint of "sweet" and very generous with the chicken. Veggie spring rolls are the best I've ever had. Steamed pork dumplings are unbelievable as well. Definitely a take out place, but one of the best around! They are pretty quick too!

The Crispy Chicken Basil dish is delicious. All around good thai food but nothing compared to what Allston has to offer.

I'm in town for an event and decided to check out this Thai place since it was close to my hotel. I ordered chicken basil w/ fried rice. They wrapped it up in a paper bag and when I opened it up I was hit w/ the strong odor of basil. This was reflected in the taste and overpowered the fried rice and chicken at times. The chicken was unfortunately dry but the fried rice mixed with onions and red/green peppers was very good. I'm a fan of spicy food and this was hot enough just to make my pupils dilate but not enough to make it unbearable. Overall a good enough place that I'd go back. Also the hefty portion is a plus.

Way better than rock sugar around the corner, IMHO. I was psyched to see a new thai place open downtown, particularly one that could be open for dinner. Not thrilled by the lack of table seating, but in terms of adding variety to the lunch options we have around here, it's a great addition. Ordered today for the first time, the 30% off deal is still going on (not sure for how long). We ordered steamed dumplings (pretty good, according to the guy who ordered them), scallion pancakes (a let down, don't bother), and duck panang curry. The curry was spicy and flavorful. My coworker ordered the pad thai. Not a ton of meat, but there were 2 or 3 decent sized shrimps on there, as well as an OK amount of Chicken. Found the flavor to be about what he expected and not overwhelming. Definitely putting this place in the standard rotation for lunch. At least for the next few weeks, I'd say make sure to call your order ahead. Took about 20 minutes for them to be ready with mine, but when I got there I paid for it and took it right away (bypassed the line of people waiting to order).

I'm cheating on rock sugar too. And I hate it but I love it. The curries here aren't quite as spicy but still have a solid amount and are great. Def recommended. And I have to say, it's open on sundays, which rocksug is not :(

Lately I've not been impressed with the quality here. Curries are really getting thin and watery, and it just seems like the attention to detail isn't there any more. I'm hopeful that future visits will show a turnaround back towards what I thought this place was... time will tell, but it's definitely not as good as it used to be and the only responsible thing to do here is mention that it's no longer "5 star food"... Far from it, in fact.

I definitely like it better than Rock Sugar nearby - and I think the prices are much, much better. I've only had the pad thai so far, but it was really good - I loved the flavor. You also get a ton of it for the price, in my opinion. The day I went in service was friendly and pretty quick considering it was lunch time downtown.

If you like asian food, spicy foods, highly flavorful, excellent customer service, cleanliness, or just to appreciate something different around the area. This is the place to go. A family restaurant that bring out authentic thai cuisines with hints of many spices and flavors upon SEVERAL dishes to choose from.

I just tried this place for the first time. I got the pineapple fried rice and my boyfriend got the pad thai. Mine was very good. It is a little greasy, but it's fried rice. Mine was flavorful and all the different things in the rice really made it taste great. The only draw back both in the pad thai and my rice was that we got 2 shrimp, and 4 pieces of chicken. There just isn't enough! Mine had raisins, pineapple and snowpeas, but the pad thai only had noodles remaining after those few pieces of chicken/shrimp. That could be improved, considering for lunch it cost just under $20. Not the cheapest place around here. I enjoyed mine, so I'll be going back. I usually pick it up and eat back at work, but seating seemed plentiful and clean.

Just ordered here for the first time and I must say the food is very good! I started with the crab rangoon which was cooked to perfection! Crispy won ton and a creamy crab stuffing. It came with a pinapple dipping sauce it was good but too sweet for me. Next up was the spicy wings again these were also cooked perfectly cripst skin not over done and moist and juicy inside. The sauce wasn't very spicy but had a small bite to it. Lastly the Crispy Thai Chicken which unlike the other was a bit soggy but stiill tasty. I would order from here again.

Food was pretty good, however, it ended up taking over an hour to get. Called it in, went over to SB to pick it up 30 min later and the order didn't get into the kitchen. Waited another 30 min because of total chaos and no organization. Wouldn't recommend unless you have a ton of time.

Took forever. I went there at 11:15 (they open at 11), was the only person there, and waited 20 minutes for pad thai. Seriously, pad thai from a Thai takeout restaurant should NOT take this long. Food was decent though.

Always have been happy with my meals. I've never eaten there, always take out. Vegetables are good and fresh and their curry is excellent. People are always friendly. All in all just good Thai food.
