Went here with a friend to grab a bite to eat for dinner on a weeknight. It was not too crowded so we were seated right away. We were pretty hungry so we ordered a couple appetizers and some sushi rolls as well. Pork spring roll (2 stars): These were probably my least favorite dish of the night. I don't know what the filling consisted of, but it wasn't very appetizing. Veggie Gyoza (4 stars): These were actually very good. I have never had a green dough before, but it was quite tasty. Spicy tuna roll (3 stars): These were pretty good--just about what you would expect for your average tuna roll. Philadelphia roll (3 stars): I might be a little biased against these since I am not a huge fan of smoked fish, but I thought that there was a bit too much cream cheese as well. Spicy tuna tempura roll (5 stars): This roll was one of my favorites of the night as the tempura provided a nice bite and the combination of flavors really worked well. Snow crab roll (5 stars): The sweetness of the snow crab really made this roll quite delicious as it was another one of my favorite rolls of the night. Mochi ice cream (5 stars): The perfect ending of the meal was splitting 4 different mochi ice cream flavors (strawberry, mango, vanilla, red bean). Strawberry and vanilla were my favorites, but all the flavors were very good. Overall, this restaurant serves up some decent sushi and has very friendly and quick service. Not a bad spot to grab a bite in the Kenmore Square area.

Lots of Americanized rolls to choose from. My go to chirashi bowl was ok, too many tuna slices and not enough salmon which is my favorite. But all the different fish tastes fine and fresh enough. Miso soup is sub par. Nothing spectacular but decent quality sushi at fair prices. It's a quick walk from home so this may be my go to well priced sushi restaurant, because to be honest, Boston isn't that great in the sushi department...

I don't know if it's my Jersey taste buds or not but another restaurant that just did not hit the spot for me. I came in with a group of six people including myself and I'm pretty sure we all left unsatisfied with our meal. We ordered 3 spicy tuna rolls, teriyaki chicken breast, teriyaki salmon fillet, chicken fried rice, crispy duck breast and seafood fried rice (I can't remember what it was exactly called)... none of which really left much of a lasting impression on us. I would have to say that the best part of the meal was the miso soup but what sushi restaurant can really mess that up? Unfortunately, my experience wasn't as great as the other yelpers.

It was overall pretty good. We got the fried chicken Gyoza, vegetable spring roll, and pizza roll. The pizza roll and Gyoza were to die for. The vegetable roll was good, but I wish they had more vegetables in them. For the rolls we got about 5 plates of sushi. I love fried rolls and so got a few of those. The spicy tuna tempura roll had too much tuna for my liking. The Maine lobster roll was amazing! Lobster tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. The spider maki tasted a bit too fishy to me (like the fish was old or frozen). The salmon maki was good too. The place was clean and our waitress was very nice :)

This is from two years ago, but Yelp keeps bugging me to finish it, so here's hoping they've upped their game since then but I'm not going back: Wow. So many Kenmorians must not know what good sushi should taste like for this place to get so many good ratings. Either that or something has really changed. The fish tasted and smelled fishy (which I heard other tables commenting on as well), a roll with tempura in it was super greasy throughout, and spicy tuna on top of rolls was mostly cooked like it had been under a heater. The miso soup, which I paid an extra $1.50 for, was so disgusting that I only tasted one sip, despite the smell.

This review is for the Beacon Hill location. There are few sushi places on the east coast that impress me and this definitely wasn't one of them. Mediocracy at best... I'm particularly saddened by any sushi establishment that puts cream cheese in their rolls. Also, I don't mind a little bit of tempura but I felt ill after I had the spicy tuna tempura. It has too much tempura, not enough tuna and no rice. Didn't see that one coming... We also had the ramen soup. It was a huge serving and was only OK so after a few bites I was done. The waitress was great but unfortunately I don't think I'll be back.

In one line: quality, reasonably priced sushi! Favorites: Idaho Maki (less than $5!!), Cucumber/avocado Maki, California Maki. Rock in Roll Maki was okay, but I don't love the spicy mayo. Their chicken fried rice is oily, but delicious if you want to indulge. Friends really like the Crazy Maki. Have typically always had stellar service in restaurant and with delivery, although last week a friend ordered the Spicy Scallop Maki and when it arrived it looked like it had been hastily thrown in the container or tossed around quite a bit during delivery.

I like the cooked stuff like shrimp tempura. They usually have the food quickly. The only problem is it cost a lot to fill up and then you get hungry again in a few hours. This place is better for lunch than dinner.

First time here and what a disappointment. We were in the area attending a concert at Fenway and wanted to grab some sushi for dinner. It took them 40+mins. to make 2 rolls! The Cowboy and Hawaii roll which were okay but nothing spectacular. The service was okay but we noticed only 1 sushi chef doing all the work behind the bar while other employees stood around watching and EATING. Don't plan on going back.

Another fine Bento Box lunch from Fin's. We usually get take out lunch at work on Friday's and everyone's favorite is always Fin's. Today's order was 6 Salmon and 1 Chicken. Cannot beat it for the quality, quantity and price. Soup, salad, rice, protein of your choice, appetizers and fruit for $ 10.00. In the City. Come on!

I wasn't expecting the rolls here to be so good! For the price, it is definitely worth it. The service is also very good, refilling your water and tea without you having to ask. I came here with a couple friends and we ordered: Mexican Roll: Delicious roll with spicy tuna, avocado, and tobasco sauce for only $8.95. I was expecting a smaller sized roll but this was full size. If you're looking to not spend too much on a roll and enjoy spiciness definitely try this one! Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll: This roll was good as well, the outside was deep fried so it was a little too soggy for my taste. Snow Mountain Maki: For crab lovers, this is a must try. The roll comes with shrimp tempura and avocado with a heaping amount of real crab on top. They definitely don't skimp. Tempura Udon: Nothing special, the broth is a little bland and there's a lot of cabbage. I would pass and try the rolls. Tempura Ice cream: Great dessert to share, huge scoops of ice cream and comes with whipped cream and strawberries. $5.95 and huge. Ask for tea, it's on the house and it is delicious. I would definitely come here again if I'm in the mood for sushi but not trying to spend too much money.

I probably have to be on Fin's most valuable customers list at this point. I order delivery from them at least once a week. They are a great value and the sushi is always well made and fresh. Their miso soup is my favorite in the city. I never get bored since their menu has so many different options, I can always find a good variety. They have always been prompt and if anything has ever been messed up (very rare) they are very accommodating and helpful.

Walking distance away from Berklee College of Music, and Fenway Park their Salmon don't disappoint. The fish was fresh, delicious, served in big cuts. First time in Boston, the waitress took time to answer our questions about the city.

Overall is good. A little bit pricey, sushi is ok. Sometime the salad in the bento box is not very fresh. Brown rice is good!

In my opinion, Fin's is very well deserving of its 4.5 star review. The service was attentive, the menu diverse and priced well, and the fish tasted fresh. My boyfriend and I went here on a Wednesday night around 6:30PM and the place was relatively empty, which made for comfortable seating. I could see that during a busy time, it would be a little frustrating sitting so close to other tables (particularly because we were there for a date night). We ordered the Yellowtail Serrano to start and shared a Chirashi bowl and an Ocean Maki roll. The Yellowtail Serrano was served in a delicious ponzu sauce and delicately spicy. The Chirashi bowl had a great assortment of fish and delicious sushi rice underneath. I would definitely go back to try out the kitchen menu items. They have a diverse menu but not too overwhelming. The dessert menu was typical (mochi, fried ice cream, etc.), I'd be excited if there was some sort of shaved ice fruit dessert there. All-in-all, I would definitely return.

I come from LA so I'be had my fair share of awesome ramen. I ordered the spice beef ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the beef was SUPER tender. The broth was also a nice level of not so spicy but still had a kick to it. I also had the salmon sashimi that was pretty good. Cute place for a date. I just had take out so I can't comment too much on the service. Standard 15mins for take out.

I like. I stopped by this place for lunch with my cowies (my nickname for co-workers) after spending the first half of our day at a conference at BU. This place was pretty packed for a Friday afternoon. But despite that we were seated right away. There's not too much to say about sushi. I mean... it's sushi. You either like it or you don't. I'm particularly fond of the Scorpion Roll and the Miso Soup. Service was spotty. Our waitress was inconsistent. Sometimes she was attentive, and then at other times she would disappear for what felt like an eternity. We tried the Mochi ice cream for dessert. Delish! My favorite was the vanilla.

Fin's is one of my go-to places for dinner before a Red Sox game when I'm in the mood for something other than a burger or dealing with a crowd. I've been coming here for several years, and for my first dinner here since getting on Yelp, I was looking forward to writing a review for an enjoyable experience. It didn't quite live up to potential this particular time, and given the smaller than expected number of customers in the restaurant on a Saturday evening, I'm wondering if the restaurant is experiencing a bit of a downward trend. There were no problems with the service, which was exceptional. Our waitress was friendly and prompt and attentive. Our cups of hot oolong tea never went below half-full. It wasn't the kitchen either. Our appetizers, miso and beef gyoza were hot, fresh, and flavorful. It was the sushi; it feels like the sushi quality has gone down slightly. None of the 3 rolls I ordered lived up to expectations. The rice was the wrong texture for my yellowtail roll. The end pieces of my Alaska roll were very obvious because of all the empty space on one side. I was most disappointed with my Idaho maki - sweet potato roll - Fin's was the first place I had ever tried one, and it's now something I order everywhere. This roll containing tempura sweet potato, had not seen hot oil for hours and was room temperature. The wasabi was also dry and of poor quality. I sincerely hope this experience was unusual, such as maybe a new sushi chef or just a bad night, and not the start of a bad trend. My fingers will remain crossed for next time. One final suggestion: Please update your website to have an option to skip the introduction, which is nothing but 30 seconds of pictures, or to at least be able to click on something, like a photo of the restaurant at which you want to dine, to speed things up.

Came here for a quick lunch and was impressed! I got the chilean sea bass bento box. The bento box came with a lot of salad, fruit, gyoza, three pieces of california roll, and rice. The sea bass was perfectly fried with tonkatsu sauce. Overall, for $9.95 it was a lot of food for pretty good quality! Will return again to try the full menu.

Living in the area for the past couple of years Fins has definitely been my go-to place for sushi. For the price, the quality and quantity of food is really good. They also have a good selection of food that isn't sushi. I'm a big fan of the salmon fried rice. They definitely don't skimp on the salmon! The sashimi lunch is also a great deal (lots of sashimi and comes with rice and miso soup). The waitstaff are always really nice and the service is generally good although it can get slow at times. The tables are kind of small and the chairs aren't super comfortable so keep that in mind when you go. I've also ordered takeout and usually the wait isn't longer than 15-20 minutes. All in all a great place for a quick weeknight dinner or a weekend dinner before a movie with friends.

This is a quirky place - a bit less expensive than it's competition by Fenway. Think fun, odd metal lighting fixtures combining romantic mood lighting with post industrial punk. It's really fun in short. The chirashi was pretty good, some pieces of fish were absolutely amazing and mouth watering, while the tuna was a bit on the "miss" side - but over all a great dish. Edamame was lightly salted with big kosher salt - a style I love, though a bit expensive for what you get. Over all, great place that is worth stopping in, though I would love to see a few more sushi places open up in this neighborhood.

This review is based on the quality of their delivery food, not dine in. I wanted to try this place, because though I love my go-to place for sushi in Brookline, I figured this place was cheaper, and I always love trying new places. The delivery arrived quickly, and the food was packaged nicely. Food: Eh. It definitely wasn't the freshest fish, it tasted like it's been out for a while, which is partially my fault, as I ordered for dinner, so it may have been sitting out for the day. Taste is overall pretty good, but nothing special. I enjoyed the Maine roll, but that's about it. The scorpion roll was alright. The crazy maki was pretty bland, and the christmas maki was alright. For the freshness and the taste, I think I'll stick to my go-to place.

I work in chestnuthill and i have ordered from Fin's sushi 3-4 times since ive worked here. I think their hostess answering the phone is great. She is polite and fast. It is not like when i try to call for another delivery at another business. I dont need to repeat my order ten times or resay my credit card over and over again. So i really appreciate that. The delivery driver is also polite and fast!. Other delivery services cant find me and make me walk all the way to the security booth which is a good 1-2 minute walk... I love that he brings my order straight to my office desk just like I request because its hard to leave my desk when im working. So convenient for me :) thank you fins. I love my chicken dumpling soup with tomatoes added.

I ordered a tuna avocado roll and the tuna was dyed red. The red dye stained the white rice on the adjacent pieces. This is indicative of using fish that is not fresh in the raw roll. This is appalling and I will never order sushi from here ever again.

I will never be ordering from Fin's again. I have ordered take-out from them successfully many times over the past few years. However, after a long day, I decided to try their delivery service. I placed my order at 4:50pm and received a confirmation email at 4:52pm. It is now 7:07pm, and I have not received my order of $30+ dollars worth of food. I attempted to call the restaurant and complain about this outrageous wait time, and they told me that there was nothing that they could do. Even though I enjoy their sushi, I will not be dining in or ordering takeout again. This is beyond ridiculous. My hangry is on an entirely new level. Completely unprofessional. Update: I ended up cancelling the order at 7:39pm, so hopefully they do the right thing and refund me as soon as possible. I honestly couldn't let it hit the three hour mark because I didn't want to get food poisoning from eating raw fish that was sitting in a car for 2+ hours. Still, the manager couldn't seem to comprehend why I would want to cancel my order. This is by far the worst delivery experience I've ever had

Surely Boston has better taste than this! It's hard to believe that this is Japanese. 4.5 stars - you can't be serious. The lack of attention to detail is clear. The fish, while edible, was at best disappointing. Spider maki used pre cooked soft shells that were cold and soggy. Uni was fatigued to say the least and a bit stinky, and the Saba beyond mediocre. The warm saki was cheap which made the rest tolerable- hence the two stars. I'm confused as to why anyone would come here. Given the ratings I assume I came on an off night! Maybe we have better access to seafood in Milwaukee.

Ambiance is fancy yet casual which makes it easy for a night out with friends. The sushi is fresh, well priced and tasty! The light up poles across the ceiling makes the place fun and the location is busy and lively. You can order on their app! How cool! If you like ordering the same things again and again, it will remember for you! Get the sushi pizza- it's not a pizza with tomato sauce but a layer of rice, seaweed, rice and layers of sashimi- yum!!

Right at the end of the C T-station, (Cleveland Circle) nice restaurant with plenty of seating. Come during noon because their lunch is definitely worth it. Priced around $7.59-$9, you got plenty of choices: ramen, udon, sushi, and bentos. Food is enough to satisfy stomach and I only got the sushi lunch special (3 California rolls with 6 chef selected sushi rolls) Ramen bowl enough to take home leftovers. sobu covered with bamboo shoots and thin cuts of cucumbers. bentos came with rice, 2 California rolls, 2 fried wontons, a piece of cantaloupe and a whole orange, salad, and your choice of meat (chicken, beef teriyaki, salmon teriyaki) and grapes...WOW that's a lot of food.

Came here with my boyfriend and ordered a seaweed salad and various rolls. The sushi is cheap, but the fish tasted extremely fishy and wasn't worth the price. Service was decent, but I'm not sure I'd return. Maybe it was just an off night, but I'd rather go to Sakanaya or the Genki Ya in Brookline.

This has become my go-to sushi place in Boston. The special rolls were our favorite because they were so unique. Kiwi on a sushi roll? Amazing. They are also reasonably priced, between $8 and $14 per roll. The saki options are excellent, as is the service. Can't say enough good things about this place. I have dreams about it!

Man has this location gone down hill! Generally the only time I find myself here is when there is some sort of disaster on the green line and I'm lacking my cube of cheese (see the devil wears Prada if you're not getting the reference). As my post work out wait for the B line approached 20 mins, I was feeling faint and decided to grab some dinner while the imbeciles at the MBTA worked their ish out. I was pleasantly surprised with the very reasonable wine prices, although the sav blanc I had probably came from a 3$ wine bottle. Oh well. Anyway that's where any pleasantries ended. I had a simple spicy tuna roll and the fire maki (shrimp tempura on the inside and covered with spicy tuna on the outside). Oh. My. God. The pink slime was over powering. Now this girl loves her some sushi, but there are some things that even I won't put in my mouth. I put the first spicy "tuna" piece (maybe it was tuna at some point...who knows) in my mouth and couldn't believe how awful it was. The spicy mayo tasted super peppered on top of being spicy, and the fish....well like i said, maybe it was fish at some point. Now lets talk about freshness. I was sitting at the bar but my food came out so fast that I didn't even notice the chef making it because I was checking my email. However I did see what I thought was my fire maki being laid out of Saran Wrap. Surely it couldn't have just been sitting out pre-prepped? Yes. It had been. The tempura was room temp. No way was that fresh. I ate about half of that roll as well, being careful to scape off the pink slime off the top. How unpleasant. The server didn't even seem to care that I had left most of my meal on the plate (shouldn't that be a red flag that your customer didn't enjoy their meal??) and didn't seem surprised when I didn't want the rest wrapped up. For nearly 30$ (including a 20% tip), that was atrocious.

This place definite puts a twist in some of their sushi. I gotten the pizza sushi in the past and really like it. Their udon noodle soup is really standard and nothing special. What I really enjoyed was their ~$10 lunch special that gets u a very heart japanese box meal with salad, soup, sushi and a meat of choice, too bad i dont work near here.

It's so exciting here tonight. The service was very good and familiar with the menu. I came here with two other friends. We ordered uncooked tuna, snow mountain maki, yellow fins maki and spicy beef noodles. The tuna was fresh and sweet and the snow mountain maki was like a work of art. It's really a wonderful place for party time.

I want to give a 2.5 but a 2 is too harsh. Extremely mediocre sushi. Not a fun of lettuce in my sushi either, but so many of the rolls have it so it's not easy to avoid. The rolls are not made with enough care either. The ends of our spider maki roll were falling apart and the soft shell crab was not aesthetically pleasing. Usually when you order this type of roll, it's partly because of the wow factor from the awesome tentacle legs. None here. Also, if you're going to run a sushi restaurant, learn how to fry tempura. Yes, I'm being a bit harsh, but seriously! Our tempura shrimp and soft shell crab were way below par. The tempura was extremely tough and too crunchy! Tempura is supposed to be delicate...anyway, highly disappointing. The only part of our meal that was good was the sashimi deluxe, which came with fresh and generous portions of 6 types of fish. It also took forever for the first round of our food to arrive. We ended up ordering 2 more rolls after we were done because the bf was starving, and those arrived quickly. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant, but never offered to refill our tea. This place is way too expensive for what it is. I was really hoping to find a decent sushi place closer to me, but I think I'll just trek to Genki Ya from now on.

Great food near BU! It is fresh and tastes good. I also like the way their tables are set up although the restaurant itself is small

Recommended by friends. Really fresh sashimi and I have to say it has the most generous size among all Japanese restaurant I have ever had.

Been waiting over 15 mins for 1 order of Philadelphia roll.. typed this review at minute 17. Slowwwwww service.... can't even rate the food

Sushi is fresh. I like their bbq squid and takoyaki. Nothing special there, prefer to go there during non busy time.

The best deal on Com Ave. Delicious sushi, fantastic prices, friendly staff and a tastefully done interior.
