I actually LOVE Boston News Cafe. Their staff is super friendly, and they have an awesome selection of healthy food and snacks. I am addicted to their goat cheese, chicken, cranberry, mandarin, walnut salad. It's full of the good stuff, and is huge. Everything is always so fresh and healthy. And affordable. They carry my favorite kind of mineral water, and local dark chocolate. If I need a snack, I feel like Boston News has the best options. Plus they also carry really a nice selection of magazines.

Great place to get a coffee in the morning - no lines. The coffee is Starbucks. Great service. They ran out of coffee lids yesterday -- a bit of a problem, which they compensated for by giving anyone who wanted a coffee, a free "short" size (different size lid). Good people.

I usually just grab a salad over here during lunch and they're huge and relatively inexpensive, I got between here and Viga depending. This place is right outside my building so it's quick and easy like if it's raining or something. They have a decent breakfast selection too and sell pretty much anything besides alcohol. It's re-done it used to be something else but I couldn't find anything on Yelp for it so I added the business myself. Oh and if you are craving candy.. a ridiculous amount of it is sold here.

Even though I'm not in Boston a lot, I am really happy that Boston News Cafe is here. It's a very convenient and comfortable stop after getting off the T at Government Center or State Street. The people working there are so welcoming, and the coffee (Starbucks) is just what I need after making the trip in. The sandwiches and the muffins are very good. My only complaint is that the bagels are awful. I was drawn by the fact that they're from Iggy's, who probably should stick to other kinds of breads and leave the bagels to someone else. Bagels aside, I plan to enjoy my visits here every time I go to the Faneuil Hall area.

Not a fan of this place at all. The sandwiches are average at best and are overpriced. You're better off going to Al's right down the street where the subs are far superior and much cheaper. The breakfast is not great either. The bagels are awful as are the bagel sandwiches. You want a better bagel or breakfast sandwich go to Cosi across the street or Archies in Pi ally. Truth is I stopped going there in September when I realized they charge you for butter. I ordered a bagel and they charged me .50 for it. They must be the only restaurant in the world that charges their customers for a pat of butter. So yeah when you're getting your bagel or muffin and ask for butter be aware of this. I know it is only .50 but is the principal. Butter cost around 2.00 pound and it is absurd they charge .50 for a sliver. I will never set foot in the place again.

I should probably keep this place a secret, since it's one of the only spots near City Hall where a person can realistically imagine finding a seat at lunch time. But I'm a giver, so here it is. It's not that it's the best soup and sandwiches in the city, but they're very good, and served by a genuinely friendly staff. I haven't gotten a salad here yet (don't judge me), but they are large and reasonably priced. The sandwiches are made on nice fresh bread and have enough toppings to keep me happy. But I think the best thing here is the soup. They always have at least 3 to choose from, usually more like 6, and they're just plain delicious. I'm especially enamored with the lentil soup. It's almost a stew, it's so hearty and filling. Not at all oily either. And it's served really, really hot, so if you don't find a seat in the shop, you can bring it back to the depressing lunch room at the office and eat it there.

Fabulous cafe!! The staff is SO friendly and make delicious sandwiches. I get the felafel wrap at least twice a week. There's also a nice sitting area and free wifi with a view of the Faneuil hall area. Definitely recommend!!

WOW!!! What an Amazing Place.. The food, service and atmosphere are spectacular. I love their sandwiches. Very reasonably priced and fresh and delicious.. The homemade cookies are to die for .. I was so surprised to see that they even have a full Starbucks menu.. Let me tell you.. It doesn't get better than this.
