Okay, not amazing. I ordered some weird quinoa, beet and squash (with chicken) burrito concoction and a small salad...meh, nothing special. Maybe I ordered the wrong items? At least it seemed somewhat healthy. Would I go there again? Maybe, but I'm in no big rush. The restaurant is a cool space and I like the idea of the place. 3.25 stars.

My favorite boloco, only because it was my first boloco. If you're looking for super authentic mexican cuisine, this isn't really the place. But their burritos are very crafty, the portions are big and it's refreshing. My favorite burrito is the buffalo chicken burrito, but the rest of them are super good too. Also, their nutella milkshake is bomb.

Quick, convenient burrito joint with plenty of customizable options to fit your taste. I was in a hurry to get to the airport and didn't have time to sit down for French toast and sausage like I would have liked, so I decided to place an online order at Boloco across the street and pick it up on my way. Online ordering made it pretty simple, and I got a bacon, egg, and cheese burrito with some salsa and cucumber. I would have liked a little more bacon and cheese, or even more cheese options instead of just melted jack, but I suppose there's a little less flexibility online compared to asking at the counter. (Side note, a breakfast sausage burrito option would be great too!) I grabbed my order on the way to the airport, and ate it during the ride there. I had failed to realize that the salsa and cucumbers would be so liquidy, and it dripped quite a bit. I had gone with a breakfast burrito thinking it would be a neat way to have breakfast on the go, but it ended up being a little messy. Nevertheless, it was quite tasty and convenient. The regular sized burrito was bigger than I thought, and I only ended up finishing half. I waited another 3 hours before I ate the other half.

Since Boloco is a Boston company I like to rag on it (being a New Yorker and all that), but I must admit, it's pretty good. I prefer it to Chipotle, the ingredients are fresher and their items more inspired. While I've never tried their global burritos they do sound yummy, but I like creating my own. They have more options than a Chipotle when it comes to the filling and the size of the burrito, so that's really nice. You could honestly experiment with flavors endlessly, there are that many choices. They also have breakfast burritos! I've never had one, but damn, they sound good. I've never had them take more than eight minutes to make me a burrito, so I highly recommend Boloco if you want a quick and easy breakfast or lunch.

This place has gone downhill.... and fast. I was here Sunday and the place was dead empty. After waiting 5 minutes for an employee to make my food, who was busy talking to a friend who had visited the store, I got fed up and tried to get a refund, but the cashier was too busy. So I asked for the make ticket, and I grabbed business card of the GM Adam Friedman off the counter, and then told her I'd just email him to refund me. That was Sunday early evening. I emailed Adam right away and told him the problems I had at this store, about how the employee had no interest in making anyone's order, and the person in front of me was also waiting for his food when the "employee" purposefully took an extended period of time "washing the blender in the sink" so he could talk to his buddy who had walked in off the street. 2 days later, I hear nothing back and no refund on my CC. So I called the store, and was told that Adam worked on Monday. I asked the manager who I spoke with why he never bothered to respond to my email. I was told "he probably has too much on his plate". I just said I'd dispute the charge with my credit company, and I'm not gonna chase them down for a refund because the GM has more important things to do than respond to lowly customers. Ugh, epic Fail Boloco.... the other stores run like a charm, not this one!

It reminded me of Chipolte but with a different style. The food was good and the local soft drinks offered was different but you can get brand Ed drinks from the store as well.

Chips and burritos were excellent for a decent price and quick service. Lots of college students hangin' out late at night make for a fun atmosphere. Camped-out here after a late night flight, pre-race, and also the evening of the marathon for post-race replenishment. This place was open late when many other "inexpensive" places were not. Will be back 4sho.

I have been here several times and have enjoyed the food. But today when i went the manager must have had off as the staff was on there phones and barly working. My order took 10 mins to make and i was the only one ordering. My burrito was not made right and dispite the let us know policy no one around to let them know. Over all im surpirsed and most likley will not return to this location as it is porley managed.

I've only had breakfast here and really... it's just ehh. I got a bacon egg and cheese bowl with a berry blitz shake. The bowl was ok, but it's probably not real egg since the bottom of the bowl had a watery consistency. I like how it wasn't too heavy and that there are a couple kinds of hot sauces!!! I also like how their salsas were pretty mild, but it's definitely Americanized Mexican food. The smoothie was actually the best part of the meal and was very delicious. It didn't taste too sweet or thick so that was good. If you are looking for a quick meal and don't really care whether it's authentic Mexican or not then it's a decent choice. Plus, the location is super convenient and close to Berkelee and Hynes T stop and various busses.

"What is this Boloco?" I asked my boyfriend, enunciating each syllable. We were about to find out. Burritos, burrito bowls, and smoothies. And not just burritos a la Chipotle style but burritos with fusion fillings inspired by international cuisine. I like the options for portions especially (choose from original, small, or mini). I tried the Bangkok Thai bowl with tofu. The flavor was okay. I wish the bowl had more veggies and sauce, and the rice was a little dry. The tofu was ample, and I had enough for partial leftovers to eat later. This location was clean and spacious. I would definitely be curious to try other menu items and think it's a decent option for fast food that isn't crap.

I absolutely love this chain, and this location is my favorite! The employees always seem happy and compliment me when I customize a burrito. I really miss the Foursquare checkin coupon for free coffee with a breakfast burrito, but that's nothing to cry about. The company has a lot of integrity and my heart and stomach heavily support it!

Basically a Chipotle with a different flavors. Nothing special, but it's better than Chipotle. I had the cajun chicken burrito, but I didn't really get a cajun feel from it. The chicken was pretty tender though. I think what Chipotle does best is the flavor they are able to pack into the chicken. Against that standard, Boloco's chicken fails, but they make up for it with sauces and toppings.

Rice was undercooked. They were having an open mic night. The artists were sub-par and negatively contributed to my earrings experience. In addition, I was expecting more food from an original bowl

The flagship, dare I say the mothership come to take me to the burrito of my dreams! I'm a fan of Boloco from way back. There have been several occasions where I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner at Boloco. Their ingredients are always well prepared and fresh. The consistency across all locations is very dependable. There have been a few times where I felt like the servers were a little light on the meat and I have corrected them on it and they were happy to accomodate me. This location is often busy but the pros working here know how to process a crowd with such efficiency they should be studied by GE or Bain Capital six sigma kaizen black belt consultants who will then charge corporate America millions for the same knowledge. I've never seen a burrito joint with a 70 inch plasma. That's just ballzzzzzz. I am humbled by you Boloco.

Not the best burrito I've ever had, but still pretty yummy. I like that the burritos at Boloco avoid two of the major burrito pitfalls: 1. They're not watery 2. They're not overly greasy. Both make for one bad burrito in my book (and I imagine in yours, too). My favorite of what I've tried is the Bangkok Thai burrito. Filled with your choice of meat (choose chicken), rice, red onions, cucumbers, and plenty of peanut sauce, it's really tasty. I've had Thai burritos elsewhere, but what I prefer about Boloco's is the addition of cucumbers. It adds a little crunch to everything. Plus, I just love cucumbers. Boloco is supposedly healthier than your average burrito joint, but to me, it all tastes the same as any other average burrito I've ever had. A-OK for me.

Love this spot! Typically go for lunch at least once a week. Great quick service and the food is always good. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they typically forget an item on my custom-made order but besides that they're amazing!

Out of all the bolocos, I'd say this is the best--the food is always the same (delicious) but this one has the nicest layout and the most seats. I love that you can see them making the burritos and ask them to add more or less of certain things, but that goes for all bolocos as well.

This place is clean, fast and the food tastes good. Even when there is a line, it moves fast due to the efficient and friendly staff. My one and only quibble is that the trash/compost/recycling bins are confusing and hard to read fast enough - and some Of the lettering is just wearing off. How about some printing on the items (compost me, recycle me, trash me) to back being environmentally friendly easier. And what about napkins? Not listed anywhere that I can see!

There are more delicious, calorie ridden, fattening, oh my gosh burritos out there, that's for sure. If you are looking for a BBW (Big Burrito of Wonder) then Anna's, Chipotle, or even Moe's are certainly better options. However, I tend to find myself at Boloco more. Why? They offer fun, innovative burritos that you can customize to fit your diet. You can even forgo the whole burrito thing all together and get a bowl. I'm the boring, carb watching freak. So sue me. You can get all white chicken, brown rice, guacamole, habarnero salsa (more please) fajita veggies and caramelized onions in a bowl for only 329.52 calories, 11.78 grams of fat, 33.82 carbs, and 7 weight watcher points (I know, the incredibly handy website calculator told me) Or, you can go the more exciting route and get something like the King's special, a regular sized "(read gigantic) Memphis burrito with creamy cole slaw, BBQ sauce, braised pork, Boloco rice and pinto beans with a Jimmy Carter peanut butter and banana milkshake for only 2042.06 calories, 70.99 grams of fat, 267.87 carbs and 50 weight watcher points (I know, the incredibly handy website calculator told me) That's what is great about Boloco, the choice is yours. By the by, did you know the cofounder of Boloco's mother-in-law once dated Elvis Presley? (Not even relevant enough for the lamest of quick tips, but the table top told me today) Boloco. Johnna M. tasted. Trainer approved.

A pretty average burrito chain. I usually order the Bangkok thai, whose tastiness can mostly be attributed to the peanut sauce that comes on it. Boloco reminds me a lot of Chipotle, in that its a burrito chain billed as being healthier than your average fast food. In my opinon, the thing that makes Boloco worth visiting are the milkshakes. Not sure if milkshakes and burrito's really make a great pair, but the nutella milkshake and the cookie monster are both pretty good.
(3)
Rachel D.
The first time I came here, it was for their nutella shake. It was pretty good and a small was more than enough to make me full. The burritos taste good but not great. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. I'd probably give them 3.5 stars if the last time I got a burrito the rice was cooked properly (and if I could even give half a star). It was undercooked and I could still feel the grain. That is a huuuuge turn off for me.

Pretty average place, conveniently located. The food is pretty decent, nothing special, the service is good. I generally have a burrito which isn't too filling. Some of the drinks they have are pretty good. The rice tends to be dry and the veggies don't taste too fresh. I'd prefer going to chipotle. The main thing this place has going for it is that fact that it's open till late and people only go here because everything else is closed, not for any other reason.

Mmm yummy! The Life is Good burrito is great! I usually go for Chipotle and traditional make-your-own burrito places, but Boloco's freshly made combos were great! Made my decisions easier.

Friendly. Quick. Creative. I really enjoy the Boloco concept, and this location, which was my frist, is particularly enjoyable. The best part about Boloco is the options. Want a burrito that's not mexican? How about a teriyaki burrito? Or a southwest BBQ styled burrito? There's a number of different flavor combinations that allow you to wrap up your favorite things into a burrito-eque package... and thus... it's great for the whole family!

I am beginning to consider myself somewhat of a Boloco connoisseur , as I have been to an embarrassingly high number of their locations. And I really, really like this one. 1) It's big. Huge. I've always been able to find a seat here, which is a big plus, but it's also very spacious, so even when the tables are full, people aren't hovering all up in your space. 2) It's very nice inside. I frequent the Newbury Street location too, but the Berklee location is so much nicer. Yes, I realize that the Newbury Street location is in a basement-level space. But still. The decor, the floor, the brightness - they're all good. Plus there are many different options for seats: tall tables, low tables, couches, booths, patio seats. Wherever and however you might like to sit down to eat, the Berklee location will suit your fancy. The service is generally friendly and the products are consistently good. This, my friends, is my Boloco of choice.

It was okay. I had a Thai burrito bowl with chicken. MDC had the Mexican burrito. Both were average. I think the world finally has enough burrito joints.

The other night on the way back from a date that didn't really do much for either party involved, three things dawned on me as i walked up Mass. Ave. A: Two beers hit me pretty hard on an empty stomach. B: Logically enough, i needed to visit the little boys' room. As i was pondering this second item i walked by Boloco and realized C: i'm wicked hungry. The benefits of A made me realize that solving B and C were going to be easy and fun. Turns out Boloco on Mass. Ave didn't even have a restroom that i could see, so i was tempted to go elsewhere, save for the fact that now my buzzed self badly wanted a burrito. So i got myself a yummy teriyaki burrito, as it came with no beans by default. Beans are the bane of my burrito search. i do not like beans very much and would prefer they steer clear of actual good food. A cheerful burrito technician constructed one to my specifications, and i sped my way home, still distracted by something else. In the end, after getting home and sobering up i thanked my buzzed self for impulse-buying the delicious burrito. It was yummy and worth an additional few minutes of needing to use the bathroom. That's not really the sort of blurb you want to hang on your wall really, but i mean it in a very good way.

OMGGG DEY SERV BURRITOS AND R SOO NOT AUTHENTIC MINUS TEN STARS. This was the first Boloco joint I visited years ago, and so far my favorite. They're not authentic Mexican. You're in Boston, and they're not trying to be authentic, get over yourself. They serve you a delicious, filling burrito almost regardless of what you tell them to stuff it with. You can get anything from a nice, refreshing sweet burrito (the summer) or a classic, spicy mexican burrito (yucatan) or even an asian burrito. I just had probably my favorite burrito I've ever had them make - Yucatan Habanero in a wheat tortilla, lime rice, chicken, faijita veggies, black beans, and rice noodles. I want another. And don't get me started on the smoothies. Just don't. Try them all. Get a shot of whey in yours while swinging by after a good run or bike ride.

As far as 'fast' food goes, this place takes the cake! Fresh ingredients, fast service, good food; what more could you want! Their combos are great but their make-your-own burritos/bowls are even better with tons of options to choose from! Love me some Boloco!

Boloco tends to be my go-to takeout meal at work when I don't feel like making my lunch. It's not so much that I love their burritos (Chipotle's are infinitely tastier), it's just that Boloco offers the healthiest, most filling lunch around. There's little guilt in eating a burrito comprised of a whole wheat tortilla, brown rice, white meat chicken, black beans, broccoli, carrots, cilantro, and tomato salsa. This particular location never appears to be very busy, but I'm perfectly ok with that.
(3)

The best Boloco in Boston! The morning crew knows how to make a great breakfast burrito. They remember my name, and they remember how I like my food. What's really nice though is that I've moved away from this location, so I don't go in more than about once every two months, and they remember me! Very nice people, very delicious food!

I prefer Chipotle... I know I probably shouldn't say that and I know people are going to judge me for it, but I wasn't impressed. I got a small mexican burrito with dark chicken. The rice was a bit undercooked and very bland. There just wasn't a lot of flavor to the burrito which I found to be very disappointing. Maybe I will try one of the other types of burritos or smoothies and that will be a tastier experience.

Service is fast. Wifi is free. You can hang for a bit and surf the web. The food: okay but not great. It's like any other "fresh ingredients" burrito place like Chipotle or La Salsa. My pinto beans, though, were still hard. I'll chalk that up to a one-time error. I'd give it a try again if it was convenient, but I doubt I'll purposely head to Boloco again.

A great burrito joint located in the middle of Berklee's campus, Boloco offers up quick and tasty burritos at fair prices. The place is pretty clean and the employees are pretty friendly as well. My favorite boloco inspired burritos are the memphis bbq, the teriyaki, and the yucatan habanero, though I've walked away more than satisfied from everything I've had on the menu.

I like Boloco. This location was very convenient near my old apartment. It's where I went for Internet connection and friendly people. As well as a good people-watching spot. The food is great, but this location does a bad job of informing people of a Boloco card. I had no idea it existed until I moved and had to frequent another location. Just a heads up, Boloco - Berklee. College kids are poor and need the help of earning free food via your rewards program.

Eh, Boloco is okay in my book. It's right around the corner from my office, and will do for a quick lunch when I don't want to put too much thought into the meal. I'd rank Boloco a step above the average 'House of Pizza' sub shop. It's just a wrap shop, with a rather limited menu. They claim their ingredients are especially healthy (quasi-organic), but I hardly notice - they're certainly not bad, but nothing to advertise about. I enjoy the Caesar, Summer and Thai burritos (it's really more like a wrap and less like a burrito). You choose whether you want chicken, beef or tofu (there might be a fourth option I'm forgetting). The smoothies are okay, too. Their staff isn't well trained and they have high turnover, so the quality of your burrito will vary; sometimes it's packed full of ingredients and expertly wrapped, sometimes it's on the light side, sometimes it's falling apart. They are pretty quick, though. Even when it's crowded, I'm usually in and out in 5 minutes. Seating is always very limited.

This place reminds me of Chipotle but a bit different. You can choose to "goloco" and build your own burrito, etc or order from the menu. They have plenty of choices per category. I built my own burrito with grilled veggies, some grilled chicken, brown rice, whole wheat tortilla, tomato chunks, salsa, grilled onions, scallions, and more! It's a bit pricey though but the quality of the food is pretty good. This place is huge and has plenty of seating! It also has a huge TV flat screen and plenty of nice small easy chairs for those just wanting a place to relax.

My only regret is that I don't live in Boston so I could eat here more often. This is a convenient alternative to Au Bon Pain for guests staying at the Park Plaza Hotel. My burrito was fresh and delicious. Hope you open locations in suburban Washington, D.C.

check it out. all sorts of trendy new space! kinda like the Apple store where its per square foot inventory value is super low coz they can afford it (or something like that). they have so many freakin toppings that i wish i could custom choose as they build it. maybe you can. i was confused by the menus. like the one on the wall before you get to the register gives you all the pre-concocted flavors, but the menu over the register has a humungo list to show you how you can "goloco." the sizing reminds me of this place called Freebird that i went to in texas where they have all sorts of sizes but the medium and large are essentially the same size, but the med costs way less. that's what i went for and dave got the large one, but they seriously ended up being the same size. no joke. didn't love my habanero bla bla bla with carnitas. the pork was a bit dry and the toppings were sparse... i like my sauce, so next time, i'll build up on that... hey did you know that guacamole and salsa are recyclable??! psyche!! i mean the little CONTAINERS are recyclable (i was totally fooled by the little sign on the bins). werd. yummz in style.

I was helping a friend of mine move and she lived right around the corner from here. We were looking for something fast and not filling since we just needed something in our tummies to hold us over until our dinner later that night. I suppose since we showed up at an off hour, it was expected that the place was pretty deserted. Although aside from us, there was still about 6 other parties enjoying a late lunch. Everything on the menu looked very filling, so we ended up splitting a caesar salad wrap. Lettuce, dressing, and crutons....not even enough in there to fill Thumbelina up. My friend also ordered a Nutella shake. The only complaint that I have is that when we got our wrap, we saw that it hadn't been cut in half. I checked by the plastic-ware & condiments and saw that they had dinky plastic knives - you know, the kind that snaps when you pick it up. Thinking that I'd rather enjoy my wrap than having to pick out pieces of broken plastic knife, I made my way up to the counter to see if they would cut it using one of their heavy duty knives. I stood there waiting for a couple of minutes while one employee made someone else's burrito while two others stood to the side watching and chatting with her. When I finally caught someone's attention, their solution? They walked over to the plastic-ware, grabbed a plastic knife and proceeded to cut the wrap in half. I could've done that.... Probably a great place for the students of Berklee to stop in to grab a bite in between meals, but there are so many other great places to eat in that area that I don't know if I would be back.

I reviewed this place three times before and I'm giving an updated one because there is a lot of new staff and improvements. The location is easy to navigate and accommodates the line well. Nice outdoor seating options. New menu items are interesting, there was an indian thing that looked interesting. The old favorites are still there and a great one to start off with is the Classic Mexican. It features a nice balance of rice, salsa, cheese, and protein options. Actually tastes great as just rice, salsa, and beans, no meat. I've been eating here for a number of years and some of the original employees are there and are very attentive to the orders and timely service. They seem to keep a very clean kitchen with fresh ingredients. The sound level near the cash register is at a level where you need to yell to order. But the staff don't yell back so you'll have to guess what they're saying. Alternatively you can place your order via a kiosk.

I love Boloco! It's one of my favorite places to eat in Boston, despite being just a burrito place. The inside is comfortable and there's lots of seating, the service is always friendly, and the burritos are so good. I highly recommend the summer burrito with their delicious mango salsa. I prefer it to Chipotle or Anna's or any other burrito or Mexican place.

If you're living in the area, it's the closest burrito joint you'll be able to find. Better than Taco Bell and Baja Fresh and Qdoba. On par with Moe's, and nowhere's near as good as Chipotle. I'd rather have Chipotle any day of the week. The only reason I eat at Boloco is for the convenience. It's the closest place for most Berklee and BoCo students to get a decent burrito. Oh, Boloco has smoothies.... aside from the unorthodoxy of a few of the selections, they're nothing to write home about. For strawberry banana and berry smoothies, I honestly prefer McDonald's, which is cheaper and just around the corner. Not gonna lie, folks; McDonald's has some damn good smoothies. The customer service is fabulous, though. I'm not going to explain my personal situation, but you can take my word that the higher-ups care. A lot. I've been eating here a lot because I have lots of coupons for "mini" burritos for $2, and after I'm done using those I'll probably eat here much less frequently.

The burritos are good. Very good even. But any place that'll give me peanut butter, jelly, and nutella on a warm tortilla makes me a fan. If that makes you recoil in mild disgust I really think you should try it before passing judgment because it really is good. My Favorites: The huevos rancheros in a burrito is wonderful and their buffalo (warning you really have to like buffalo sauce) is a real treat. Chipotle may do a better version of a regular burrito, but the lack of options there make this place refreshing. The creative menu entries and extensive customizations adds a bit of excitement.

I know I'm being hella generous lately with my star ratings for my Boston reviews. I'd give this place a generous 2.5 stars, rounding up to 3, because it was OK. Boloco cashier: May I help you? G-Murda: I'm gonna have the "build your own" burrito BC: What size? GM: Regular BC: What kind of meat? GM: Carnitas. What kinds of beans do you have? BC: pinto and black. GM: Let me have the black beans. I'll also have the salsa and rice. BC: white or brown? GM: ... ... ... white. The resulting burrito was a puny one, which had a non-puny price ($5.50 something). I'd have to go back here and try their "memphis bbq" burrito... ( | )

This place is awesome! Very clean with a friendly, fun staff. The cool thing is they usually have a good movie or show playing on their big widescreen TV. Oh yeah, they have the best burritos around and can accommodate any diet, including mine; Im vegan!....just go here!

I have a thing for burritos. Maybe a little more than a thing... these days, I'm a borderline burrito junkie. When I'm out and about and the craving hits, Boloco is my number one stop. True, the burritos aren't "authentic" (whatever that means) and there are definitely better places out there, but when I'm starving and don't feel like the same old tired Chipotle thing, this is my place. The Summer burrito is hands down my favorite. The Berklee location is nice, too. Clean, friendly and quick service, and a deece place to study.

I am from the South where burrito's are a sacred art and portions are as big as the asses walking the sidewalks. In Atlanta we have Moe's and I never thought I'd find a larger, more delicious burrito until I stumbled (literally) in to Boloco after a Sox game. I had just enough beer in my stomach to eat a Bangkok Thai burrito with extra chicken and slaw to sober me up to make it to the train. Normal places give you the stare down and rude comments under their breaths but I walked in 5 minutes from closing and was greeted with a smile and offered a seat. Considering this was my first time they gave me a sample of a smoothie, a free water and I was on my way. The parking is tough considering it is right on Mass Ave. but for the walk few this place is great. I will be going back.

Mexican food is the favored cuisine of surburbanites and of course Mexicans..I actually am unfortunately cursed to work(food wise) in Mansfield 2 days a week....There is a Qdoba and Chipolte across the street from each other and not much else Boloco(short for Boston local) is better than the national chains. They have the burrito bowls or burritos with the 200 calorie bread, but if you want brown rice, brocoli, teryaki sauce, BBQ sauce or cajun spice, you can special order it...I like choice, even if I dont need to choose Great nutricious fare

This is NOT a Mexican restaurant! First of all, a burrito is only marginally Mexican. You don't find burritos in Mexico, really...for tourists, sure. Just because the thing is made with a tortilla does not make it Mexican. But...OK, I'll give you the burrito thing, there are so many good Mexican restaurants that serve burritos, I'll let it go. But Memphis BBQ sauce on chicken in a tortilla is not Mexican food! Buffalo wing sauce on beef in a tortilla is not Mexican! And what the heck is a burrito bowl--if you have a burrito without a tortilla is it still a burrito? (If you put a piece of cheese on a piece of ham on a plate, no bread, is that a sandwich?) So weird. Anyway, the food is not bad. And it's cheap. It's a food bomb wrapped in a tortilla for quick refueling. I'm not sure why they call it Mexican, though.

I have had boloco two more times since I wrote my original review. I have to saw I owe it more credit. It's pretty ballsy to over so many options inside burritos, including tofu. That's badass. Especially because the tofu is good! I had the bangkok thai style burrito and it was delicious! Brown rice, cucumbers, tofu, peanut sauce. All inside a tortilla. For the price, it's a good deal. 1 delicious boloco burrito fills me up. I've also had the classic again since my first review. The second time, everything was more properly cooked. I'm glad I gave it a second chance.

I wasn't a huge fan of Boloco the first time I went, but after trying it again and ordering something completely different from what I'd ordered the first time I totally adored it. The caeser wrap with steak is a perfect combination. Their smoothies are also great, I really enjoy the Berry Blitz and the Nutella Shake =) I heavily recommend Boloco to anyone who's looking for something in the Berklee area of Back Bay, especially if you've never tried it before.

I had a regular size Steak Caesar and a bottle of Coke - Cost over $7. There is hardly any meat in their wraps - super bland - bread and lettuce basically. Why not just go and buy a loaf of bread for a dollar? This place is a rip-off and I won't be going back. I really have to wonder what all these other folks on yelp are talking about - possibly some alternate universe eatery by the same name.

Here are my pet peeves: #1 - This place is NOT a Mexican restaurant! So why is it categorized as such? #2 - The review down bottom... which actually is just EW a bunch of times, then explains that the food isn't Mexican. (Thanks, we know that already.) #3 - The reason why the guy taking your money wasn't excited that you ordered tofu? HE doesn't pocket the extra profit. And a hundred other people probably order tofu, too. Seriously guys? Let's screw our heads on for a minute. From what I can tell by looking at their menu, they offer Thai, Greek, Classic American, Asian, Mediterranean, AND Mexican-style food. Yes, they claim to serve burritos. Some of us may consider a burrito to be a wrap. Understand that this is what we call a "Synonym." And then there's the food. WHERE ELSE can you get all-white meat chicken, rice, celery, and some sauces all wrapped up with the ends tucked in nicely? I ordered a second, proceeded to carry it around in my purse, and whipped it out four hours later for a little snack. And it was just as perfect as the one I ate in the restaurant. I'll be back. And since I only make it back east twice a year, please build one in Denver!

I've always been a Boloco fan, because as a vegetarian, I really appreciate being able to have the flavors that everyone raves about (caesar, buffalo, etc.) with tofu. This might sound basic, but when I first discovered "The Wrap" (as it was then called), it was really revolutionary. I'm compelled to review today, because of a recent great experience with the company. I'm organizing a fundraising event for a friend with a serious affinity for buffalo chicken things. On a whim, I used the Contact Us section of Boloco's site to see if they'd be willing to donate a gift card to raffle off at the event. Within the day, I received an email back from the CEO, offering to donate 2 gift cards, with 2 free burritos loaded on each. (I chose to review this location, b/c it is where I picked up the gift cards. ). I knew they were locally owned, but I didn't expect that kind of friendliness, responsiveness and willingness to help. I'll be a fan now for life.

Two words: Buffalo burritos. Sounds like a weird combination until you try it! New concepts like the Memphis BBQ burrito are just as good. The fact that they serve breakfast is another plus especially when many burrito places usually don't bother. I must dock a star for the lack of power outlets though. What restaurant has wifi but no power outlets? Otherwise, make it southward and fast!

This place is a Berklee hang out. They do a great job hosting open mics and using their space for the musicians that usually eat there. I love how organized it is. Their new robot soda machine is pretty rad. My boyfriend eats here way too much. Thanks Boloco!

Not big on their burritos, but... LOVE their smoothies. I always get a custom smoothie: soy milk, banana, a little honey, blueberries, a brain builder add-on and ice. Delicious! Also, being vegan, I am SO happy that they served grilled veggies, broccoli and TOFU! Very rare for a Mexican place. Very impressed. Chocolate chip cookies are baked fresh on site 2 sometimes 3 times daily. Delicious!! They serve breakfast til 11am. Looks yummy, but I've never tried it. Thankful that they give two size options for burritos. Grateful that almost all of their dining ware..cups, plates, etc, are compostable. Overheard the owners discussing replacing the workers' gloves with compostable ones too. Wish they had non-dairy froyo and almond milk for the smoothies. Price is perfect.

Boloco was the most recent stop on my hunt for breakfast burritos. I ordered the chorizo burrito, and asked them to add potatoes. Thank goodness, because the potatoes were the best part: warm and relatively fresh. The rest of the ingredients were cold, oily, and not fresh. (Those would be the egg and chorizo). Then they slathered the thing with a ton of chipotle sour cream and some grated cheese. If they would warm up the burrito again following its making, maybe it'd be better. Or if they actually made the eggs fresh, that would help too. You should note that not all locations serve breakfast: the Northeastern one doesn't, for example. Unfortunately the Boloco website does not make this distinction. I guess it doesn't matter though, because their breakfast burrito is not worth lusting for.

I Love Food 2.
In my time in Boston, this has been a go-to place for me. Why, you ask? Well, for starters, their burritos are actually pretty good! Secondly, they're pretty healthy and non-fattening (especially with whole wheat tortillas, brown rice and vegetables). Lastly, they're cheap and they offer discount cards! Whenever I wanted a burrito I go here, and I save like 5+ bucks and don't get nearly as fat. It's awesome! OK, taste-wise I'd rather go to Anna's or Chipotle; sure. But those places aren't good for you, and they're kinda freakin' expensive, plus there aren't any near where I live. So, Boloco wins on any day I'm not splurging after a ton of hard work. My favorite burritos at Boloco are the Summer (mango salsa, black beans, cheese, your choice of vegetables) and the Cajun (black beans, cajun spices, corn and sour cream). You can make alterations to any burrito you want to make them less damaging to your health. Plus their cards earn me free burritos without having to spend that much money in the first place. Thanks Boloco! You guys are awesome!

Hey. Hey you.....HEY! Shhh....I have a secret to tell you. Come closer.....i need to whisper something in your ear. Very important.....don't tell anyone....shhhhh..... IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A MEXICAN FOOD PLACE!!!!!!!!! Ahhh....I feel better. Anywho, I eat here all the damn time. I'm one of those music students thats "crowding the place". I like it! I don't care that the "cajun" burrito tastes more Mexican than the "classic" burrito. I don't care that the "Bangkok" isn't authentically Thai (it's a burrito so, you know, that just kills the authenticity right there). Their burritos are filling and they're ready in about 5 seconds. Authentic, shmawthentic! I don't care if it's authentic! Neither does my stomach! Oh yeah, their smoothies are really good too. And they have FREE wireless internet.

Great burritos, open late, plenty of seating. Ate there plenty when I went to Berklee. You might want to avoid it around lunch time if you're not a student though, it gets really busy from 1-2pm during Berklee's campus wide lunch hour. They have specials all the time too for cheap and sometimes offer free smoothies with an order. They have a nice patio seating area too.

I was in Boston for the weekend and I was looking for a quick place to grab dinner. At first I was uninterested in burrito places since I have been to Chipolte and wasn't that crazy. I tried the buffalo chicken burrito w/grilled chicken and a large iced tea...It was divine. The staff was friendly and the meal was made quite quickly. The rice was tasty, the cheese was delicious, and the chicken was very tender. The food was served warm and I was very excited when I opened the aluminum foil it was wrapped in. I hate the Red Sox, but Boloco will always have a place in my heart.

Boloco is home to what is easily the most disappointing burrito experience of my life. If I sound overly dramatic it is because when I pay so much for a "burrito" which turns out to be little more than a snack sized tasteless disappointment I feel duped. And when I feel duped I get upset. It isn't just that they aren't Mexican. I can deal with that but I can't deal with going into a place for a lunch, paying for a lunch, and then having to go somewhere else to get another lunch because I didn't get a lunch. I'm not a big guy. I've eaten at many lunch places all around Boston. They manage to provide a reasonable product at a reasonable price. Boloco provides neither a reasonable product (small, tasteless, etc) or a reasonable price for it (how did I pay almost ten dollars for a swollen egg roll?). I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I hated.

These are wraps, not "inspired burritos". Sorry guys, there's nothing inspiring about them. You want burritos? Come to the Mission District in SF. Or go to LA. Or San Diego. Or even Texas! Don't be fooled into thinking a Boloco burrito is authentic! Meh. I had the summer wrap with tofu (black beans, mango salsa, cheese, cilantro and rice). Double meh. I don't understand why this chain populates Boston, but it's a shame since I don't really care for them. Decent food and I have to give them props for promoting healthy eating habits but you won't find me craving a Boloco "burrito" any time soon. Plus this place is crawling with music students.

I have walked past this place on numerous occasions with the idea that it was just crappy chain fast food. One day I decided to try it. I was amazed by how good it was. The options are endless and one can always customize any of the items on the menu. This was a very attractive feature to me because I eat healthy and at some restaurants getting them to omit an ingredient is an act of congress. Not here. Boloco is a great option for a quick, quality lunch or dinner. I hope to see more open up around Boston and across New England.

I love Boloco burritos, I will admit it. I went here when they were having a free burrito day, after they had completely redone the interior. It's got plenty of seating and great service, in addition to the regular awesome food. So close that I'll have to go back again and again.

I like these burritos, but I am by no means a burrito expert. Anything rolled up in a tortilla with rice and beans constitutes a burrito in my mind. That being said, this location is on the walk home from the T to my apartment so a lot of times laziness sets in after the gym and my boyfriend and I grab a burrito instead of me cooking up some mediocre meal when we get home. The summer burrito is my favorite, I usually get it with chicken...it comes with black beans, mango salsa, cheese, cilantro, and rice. Definitely good! I've also recently started trying their smoothies. Mango Passion is my new favorite. Although the strawberry banana isn't too bad either. The place is always clean and the staff is pretty nice, I wish they had fountain soda instead of just bottles but that's only a minor gripe.

I am from Los Angeles, so it takes a lot for a Burrito to impress me. BUT I am a actually impressed by how good and healthy the stuff at this a chain spot can be! They do a pretty good guacamole which is hard to find on the east coast too! The Cape Coder smoothie is just so refreshing on a warm summer day! They do some really nice healthy options like brown rice, or brown tortillas and have some good vegetarian options. This location is especially great because its right across the street from Berklee school of music, so there are always tons of artsy kids with instruments munching as you stroll in. Its also a good stop when running errands or taking a lunch break in the General top of Newbury/Symphony area. NOTE: For people that LOVE Anna's, this is a different kinda place, much more california healthy twist on burritos, BUT still very good ALSO, the large, even with extra toppings is usually not more than $8, and the large is a pretty big portion.

Sort of "secret" second floor is what I dig about this particular Boloco. No one ever really goes up there since it's a door behind the register. Upstairs is comfy couches, a table or two, and some window seating (for spying on everyone on Mass Ave). I've spent a couple hours up here chatting with friends on more than one occasion. Although the burritos are decent... they're more fancy wraps than actual burritos (Bangkok). The smoothies are delicious (Berry Blitz and Mango Passion)... I drink them way too quickly.. But alas.. I miss The Wrap and how they used to change up their menu. Paella wrap? Where art thou?

I've been going to Boloco since it was The Wrap. I'm not into sandwiches/wraps that contain rice or beans, but the salads are okay and the smoothies are great. Also, the staff are unfailingly pleasant to deal with, which is no small feat when you have overentitled college students snapping at you all day. Would've given their Mass. Ave location 3 stars. They've now moved around the corner to the former site of the Berklee College bookstore, and I dropped in there for lunch today. The new space looks great and the staff are still cheerful despite the obvious stress of the move. Also, they sell Mash sodas, to which I'm addicted. On the basis of the new space, I'll give them four stars.

Tried this place again running back to work after a pedicure. The service is quick, but the food is still eh. I got the summer burrito, which was pretty good, but I felt the chunks of mango were just a bit too big... & overall the burrito lacked in flavor.

Tasty! Healthy! Cheap! I eat at this Boloco at least three times a week. If you know how and what to order, it can be a great healthy option for lunch and dinner. Really cool: visit Boloco's website at boloco.com and check out the Nutrition Builder under the Menu section. It lets you see the nutritional content of each thing you can add on your meal. I always get the create-your-own bowl (i.e., no tortilla means subtract 400 calories); you eat it with a fork. I get the Large bowl, with Grilled Chicken, Brown Rice, Black Beans, Tomatilla Salsa, and Corn (or Mango) Salsa. I've gotten this sooo many times and still love it every time. For $6.25, this the most filling and healthy dinner I have found in this neighborhood of the Back Bay. If you're insatiably hungry and need a little extra food, the House Salad is also a great choice. Plus, they're open to 11pm every night. Awesome.

I went here for a quick lunch/snack on a recent visit to Boston. Now I am huge fan of Chipolte only because it is gourmet by Cincinnati standards but Boloco overall was a better. The deal breaker was bagged chips (still tortilla but in a bag) and the salsa was way to chunky, or at least the one I had was. Overall I liked it but only I would only return to it in the same conditions as before (i.e. I was in a hurry and tired).

Had never heard of Boloco before moving up here. Place is great. This one is considerably better than the other one. Many a time coming in late night or in the middle of the afternoon. Always nice, always get my order right.

One of my favorite spots in the city. Its hard to find parking at this location but I think its the original. They have a cool upstairs which features free Wi-Fi. The service is always stellar, the food is always consistently amazing and the prices are cheap! What else can you ask for?

showing a friend around town can work up an appetite...if you pass this place after walking the mass ave bridge...keep walking. while the selections and combinations look interesting, they aren't all executed well. the service was not so hot either as the person behind the counter didn't really have any presence at all... i mean, you don't have to wait on me...you're just a sounding board for my order off too...be excited that i am ordering tofu damn it....GET EXCITED! overall, not bad...better than most other burrito chains and definitely worked for a quick bite on a 'boston by foot' sort of day...but no 'inspiration' there. gimme a break already.

I agree with some prior reviewers. The burritos are just OK, though creative. The staff is great, and I am completely floored by how well they designed and built out the space. And I love the smoothies. But the food they serve really isn't healthy, even if you get a burrito bowl. Go for the soy berry milkshake if you want the one healthy item on the menu.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

3.25 stars.
(3)Kyra L.

(4)Tessa D.

(1)Joseph R.
It reminded me of Chipolte but with a different style. The food was good and the local soft drinks offered was different but you can get brand Ed drinks from the store as well.
(4)Russ D.
(4)Jacob D.
(1)Lillian C.
(3)M B.
Burrito was so good! Original size was filling. Pas Thai sauce was so good. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Boston!
(5)Laryssa W.
(3)Josh C.
(5)J C.
(3)Timothy H.
The Cajun is a perfect taste palate .
(4)Juan C.

(5)Andrea B.
(3)Cindy J.
Love this spot! Typically go for lunch at least once a week. Great quick service and the food is always good. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they typically forget an item on my custom-made order but besides that they're amazing!
(4)Alexandra M.
Out of all the bolocos, I'd say this is the best--the food is always the same (delicious) but this one has the nicest layout and the most seats. I love that you can see them making the burritos and ask them to add more or less of certain things, but that goes for all bolocos as well.
(5)Chris C.
(4)Johnna M.
(3)Matt B.

(3)A B.
(3)Ben D.
Mmm yummy! The Life is Good burrito is great! I usually go for Chipotle and traditional make-your-own burrito places, but Boloco's freshly made combos were great! Made my decisions easier.
(4)Christopher I.
Friendly. Quick.

(5)Doug S.

(5)Anna T.
As far as 'fast' food goes, this place takes the cake! Fresh ingredients, fast service, good food; what more could you want! Their combos are great but their make-your-own burritos/bowls are even better with tons of options to choose from! Love me some Boloco!
(4)David C.
(3)Andrew B.
The best Boloco in Boston! The morning crew knows how to make a great breakfast burrito. They remember my name, and they remember how I like my food. What's really nice though is that I've moved away from this location, so I don't go in more than about once every two months, and they remember me! Very nice people, very delicious food!
(5)Alana H.
(2)Cherie C.
(3)Michael R.
(3)Emily W.
(3)Yasmin M.
Nutella milkshake. Nuff said.
(5)Sean T.
David & Phil are the greatest people known to walk this earth. Their mastery of burrito-crafting is unparalleled by any mortal. Sheer perfection.
(5)Christopher M.
(3)Faye F.
(4)Ariel B.
Boloco is the absolute best, they have fresh food and the friendliest people, also great deals, get a boloco card! favorite place.
(5)Deborah D.
My only regret is that I don't live in Boston so I could eat here more often. This is a convenient alternative to Au Bon Pain for guests staying at the Park Plaza Hotel. My burrito was fresh and delicious. Hope you open locations in suburban Washington, D.C.
(4)Shaina P.
check it out. all sorts of trendy new space! kinda like the Apple store where its per square foot inventory value is super low coz they can afford it (or something like that). they have so many freakin toppings that i wish i could custom choose as they build it. maybe you can. i was confused by the menus. like the one on the wall before you get to the register gives you all the pre-concocted flavors, but the menu over the register has a humungo list to show you how you can "goloco." the sizing reminds me of this place called Freebird that i went to in texas where they have all sorts of sizes but the medium and large are essentially the same size, but the med costs way less. that's what i went for and dave got the large one, but they seriously ended up being the same size. no joke. didn't love my habanero bla bla bla with carnitas. the pork was a bit dry and the toppings were sparse... i like my sauce, so next time, i'll build up on that... hey did you know that guacamole and salsa are recyclable??! psyche!! i mean the little CONTAINERS are recyclable (i was totally fooled by the little sign on the bins). werd. yummz in style.

(2)Peter B.
(4)Jillian R.
(5)Daniel R.
(4)Andrew W.
(4)Graceypoo M.
(3)Nick P.
This place is awesome! Very clean with a friendly, fun staff. The cool thing is they usually have a good movie or show playing on their big widescreen TV. Oh yeah, they have the best burritos around and can accommodate any diet, including mine; Im vegan!....just go here!
(5)Em G.
(4)Liz V.

(4)Kirk F.
(3)Nik B.
(4)Anonymou S.
(5)Alexander S.
(1)Becky S.
(5)Ashley G.
(5)Jason B.
(4)Abigail H.
This place is a Berklee hang out. They do a great job hosting open mics and using their space for the musicians that usually eat there. I love how organized it is. Their new robot soda machine is pretty rad. My boyfriend eats here way too much. Thanks Boloco!
(5)Cat S.
(5)R.G. W.
(2)I Love Food 2.

(4)Kim P.
(5)Preeth K.
(4)Paul C.
I always enjoy my classic mexican burrito !!! The staff tonight made my experience even better. Phil was friendly and efficient. Mike made my order perfectly. Keep up the great work. Thanks
(5)Happy Eater B.
Delicious burritos. The people here are super nice and helpful. Nice place to meet people and have a conversation. Sitting outside when it is warm is especially nice. A great place.
(5)Min Y.
sauce to food ratio can be a little unbalanced..
(3)Moomin T.
Love it--inventive burritos served fast. They are actually pretty healthy too.
(5)Bradley R.
(1)Viv C.
(2)Foodie F.
(4)Denis A.
I love Boloco burritos, I will admit it. I went here when they were having a free burrito day, after they had completely redone the interior. It's got plenty of seating and great service, in addition to the regular awesome food. So close that I'll have to go back again and again.
(4)Becky M.
(4)Morgan F.
