Pretty good pho. Good soup and friendly service. I came here twice while visiting Boston...the first time I thought the pho portion was on the small side. Usually a small pho is a ton of food and I leave some noodle and soup behind and scoop out the meat. The second visit the portion seemed much larger, maybe it was just an off day the first time since we were with a big group.

Great food and very nice staff. Lately I have been ordering out for pickup a lot, because I cannot get enough of the tofu vegetable pho. I have to say that it is the best pho I have ever had. Everything is well balanced, and there is a wide range of vegetables that are in the dish. I should probably try ordering something else at some point, but every time I go there I just want the pho. Needless to say I highly recommend it.

We came here for lunch and were the only patrons in the restaurant. The location is not desirable because the restaurant is tucked away in a basement on Newbury. You have to really look out for the sign against the rot iron fence. The atmosphere has a young vibe with hip hop music playing in the background, and the food is fresh. Mains: Grilled chicken and pork rice dish with an added fried egg - These dishes were tasty and came with a refreshing mix of veggies. The grilled meats were leaner than what you typically get at other restaurants in chinatown such as Pho Pasteur in particular.

Amazing food & amazing service. I am never disappointed when I come. Thai fried rice with chicken is my absolute favorite!!

My favorite part of Beantown Pho is the atmosphere and the thai tea of course. Their drunken noodles are in chili basil sauce but it was definitely worth trying. I'm honestly craving them again. Next time I'll definitely tell them to make it spicy though and the portions weren't too small. Thai tea is a definite. Not just because they're in cute mason jars/mugs, but because it's actually really yummy! P.S. outdoor dining and indoor! The place is pretty big and the waitress we had was especially really nice.

Came here for a family dinner and enjoyed every minute of it! It was actually a very special laid back dinner. Good ol Yelp helped me select this place and we were extremely happy we dined here! The menu is a mix of a Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, a bit of everything. Our meal was outdoors on the patio as it was a humid summer evening but we wanted to eat and enjoy outside on a nice summer evening. We came here for Thai food and it was awesome. The meal was what you expect from Thai food. Spicy in flavour with some sweet, creamy and salty. Overall exceptional. Items ordered: Thai Iced tea- creamy and with lots of ice. The perfect accompagniant to a spicy meal. Fresh spring rolls- crisp lettuce, fresh and delicious as an app. Spicy calamari- tender crispy calamari with chopped jalapeño and fried peppers and onion with some chilli seasoning. Outstanding. Chicken curry- creamy orange in colour. sweet and exactly how we enjoy it with beans, broccoli and carrots and thinly sliced chicken Beef drunken noodles- probably the slightest dissapoinment dish as not as sweet and spicy as preferred. But still fragrant and tasty. Pad Thai w crispy chicken. - chicken seasoned very light but crispy and delicious. Service was attentive and pleasant. A good choice if you are staying in the area. Definitely would return again!

I have been here twice, but maybe I will drop by there again. Located both downstairs and on a terrace, this restaurant offers both Thai and Vietnamese food. I sat on both down inside and outside sitting, and in both places service was good and fast. Downstairs the rest Thai iced tea is a perfect option for summer as it's very refreshing and good. They have spicy food, so take a look into the menu and look for the spicy dishes. The menu has both lunch and dinner pricing, so if you want to save some bucks you should come on lunch time. I tried Tom Yum Pad Thai and chicken Panang Curry, both were awesome, tasty and spicy. Also the crunchy rolls and the banana dessert were really good and worth to try. The staff is really paying attention to every customer, refilling their glasses or asking if something is missing or wrong. I haven't tried Pho dishes, so maybe next time I will give them a try.

I thought it was a good place in Back Bay for some Thai and Vietnamese food. Owners were nice.

We would come back if we were craving pho and in the neighborhood. There aren't many really good Asian restaurants in Back Bay in general, so this place is a good fix for a rainy day. They seem to have more recommendations on the menu for Vietnamese food than Thai. Food was good and service was very attentive. I would come back to try more of the drinks, like Thai ice tea or boba.

Went here with some friends from out of town that were craving Vietnamese food. After reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to go with the chicken pho, despite the sweltering heat. The portions for the pho dishes are very generous and the flavor of the meal is good--especially with a couple squirts of duck sauce. I also tried one of their spring rolls and it was decent as well. The only hiccup I experienced was that I ordered a fried egg for my dish and they forgot to bring it out and once they did, it was a broken egg. Overall, this place is actually pretty big, the prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly. Worth checking out if you're craving pho in the area.

Beantown Pho had so much promise. It was a breezy summer night in Newbury and my wife and I were in the mood for some Thai food on a patio. The stage was set, all you had to do was deliver. Was the food delivered hot? Yes it was. Was the food tasty? Yes it was. So what's my problem? They gave me ground chicken in my basil fried rice! Are you serious? I have never been to a Thai place that gives you ground chicken. Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I asked another crazy, my wife, to check the dish. Even she asked where the meat went... My wife's Bo Sate packed a serious punch, I think it was the lemongrass that gave it one of the most unique flavors I've ever tasted. But we ran into the same problem. Sketch mystery meat. We had some thin slices of rubbery beef in there. Usually my wife is the picky one with meat, so I'm surprised she didn't complain about. The dishes are definitely flavorful, but I'm not a fan of the mystery meat. I'm kind of sad because the prices are great and the service is good too, but this whole mystery meat thing turns me off. The patio seating is wonderful too if the streets aren't shut down by blizzards, but I can't really recommend this place to carnivores. Vegetarians, however, should definitely what Beantown Pho has to offer.

My husband and I were visiting Boston and staying the Back Bay Area. We had looked up Vietnamese restaurants and stumbled upon this place and man am I glad! Beantown Pho and Grill is in an adorable area of Back Bay with tons of restaurants and shops. We sat outside and had prompt service. I ordered the Thai iced tea with tapioca pearls and it was delicious ! My husband ordered the Panang Curry Chicken and loved it. I had the Pho Tai and was quite pleased. The broth was deep and flavorful- there were plenty of noodles and plenty of bean sprouts for it. The only two small disappointments were the portions of meat (it could have used a little more) and no jalapeños on the side. I usually love adding them to the Pho. All in all we were extremely satisfied and left with full bellies. I highly recommend checking this spot out for a yummy meal !

The food here is alright, as I ordered pho, and it being a Thai restaurant, it tasted pretty good. However, I felt there was not enough noodles to match the amount of meat. But that could just be personal preference. I will say however, the Thai Iced Tea is arguably the best I have ever had.

Came here on a rainy day with a few friends and we were seated right away. The place is quite homey for a casual lunch/din. The menu options give vietnamese and thai food which is a good variety if your party wants different things! Cha Gio (eggrolls): Standard, the egg rolls are crispy with good flavor. It comes with 3 thin pieces. We tried to add another one egg roll since there was 4 of us but they didn't allow for it. Coconut tomyam noodle: This was quite good. The soup tasted like the typical tom yum noodle soup and the noodles that came with it were the larger flat rice noodles. I really like the thicker noodles as opposed to the thin vermicelli that most places give with tom yum soup so I would def come back for this! Grilled chicken bun: This dish was okay but I was not a fan of the grilled chicken. The flavor was very bland but everything else about this dish was standard. All in all not a bad place to come if you're craving some vietnamese/thai food. Prices are standard for the portions but there is also a $7.50 lunch special I didn't try which might be worth it!

A little hidden away in the snow, but I was craving pho in the cold miserable weather. I eventually found a sign with $7.50 lunch specials. I opted for the Hu Tieu with chicken, (8.95 with beef or prawn). The portion size was decent, maybe a bit more than I needed. Although they were very sparing with the meat. Service was acceptable. Food came out fast enough for my hungry stomach. It's quite cozy, with cute tables and bench seating along the wall. I have a weird relationship with back tears. Cute hipster lighting and wood panel led walls.

Hello Kitty. That's exactly how I describe this place. I couldn't put my finger on it at first. The service was nice..... cute, even..... the ambiance cozy-cute... and every dish was presented the way I'd expect to see food done at a cupcake store. Everything is just so.... cute. So... Hello Kitty. That makes it neither a good nor bad thing. It just is. Food is strictly not-bad. The cold tofu was surprisingly tasty and refreshing, but it lacked depth. Like a shallow kiss from a cute girl- lips are tasty, but she lacks the moaning and heavy breathing. The shredded chicken salad was also decent. Again, however, lacking in depth. I simply can't put my finger on it. I didn't love the pho with spicy beef soup. It was alright, and a staple of Vietnamese soup noodle places, but it tasted like something out of a Trader Joes package. Have you ever had sneeze, but it comes out ever so dainty? Not the loud, spit-laden cracking of thunder sneeze that your body just orgasms out, but the dainty one that may or may not be accompanied a bunny fart that escaped your buttocks. That's what this place is. It's cute, with bunny farts.

What a hidden gem this place is! Our friends who live in Boston took us here for dinner on a cold night. I got the Beef Pho(pho tai) while my wife got the Veggie Pho. Both were very flavorful, clean and delicious. They were not salty and did not contain MSG which was nice. Our friends also got the drunken noodles and the curry noodles and both were outstanding. So fresh and full of flavor. The portions were large and hearty and the spice was just right in all the dishes. I absolutely loved the food here and will definitely return when I'm in town next.

Beantown Pho & Grill is a basement level storefront on Newbury Street with a small patio set at street level. I had placed a take-out order in advance and had popped in to pick it up and to scoot on out again. Their Thai Iced Tea $3.50 was a cool sweet treat on a hot summer's evening. But while I wouldn't say it was the best I've had, it was fine for what it was. The Chap Chae Noodle with Beef $10.95 Korean style bean thread noodles with cabbage, onions & carrots in a sesame sauce and the Pad See Ew with Chicken $9.95 Flat rice noodles, eggs & Chinese broccoli with sweet soy sauce were fine, but weren't particularly outstanding in anyway. Just your normal tasty Thai at a slightly higher price due to the rent for the location. Eh, I'll round up to four stars because they had my Thai iced tea in the fridge waiting for me instead of on the counter beside my hot food.

If you're looking for some great tasting Pho in the Boston/Back Bay Area, look no more! This is definitely the place to go for some tasty Vietnamese food. We popped in here for dinner because the reviews were great, we were close by and we loved it! So much so that we came back the very next day for lunch! When you get there you see their outdoor seating at street level, which is nice, but since I'm a native Miami girl, sitting outside when it's 50-60 degrees to eat isn't really my cup of tea (yes, I am/get cold). But you can go down a few steps and go into their indoor dining. Inside it's a nice and simple setup of tables and chairs and there's a welcome sign in at least 10 different languages on one side. They just opened this year and if they keep up the flavors and service as they have been, they should be around for many more years to come. Now to get to the most important part I'm sure you've been waiting to hear about, the food! We had the Cha Gio to start. They are crispy rolls (3) stuffed with pork and veggies and their homemade sauce on the side. They were some of the best rolls we've ever had; definitely a must try! I then ordered Pho Sate for my entree. It's Vietnamese beef noodle soup in spicy beef broth. Before those of you who don't like much spice say anything, you can choose your spice level. I asked for a medium spice and it wasn't spicy at all, probably could've tried a spicier level (maybe next time I'm back in Boston). My husband ordered the Cahn Chua Soup, which is a sweet and sour soup and you can choose to have it with chicken or shrimp. And my sweet husband ordered it with chicken so I would try it (I'm not a fan of shrimp). It wasn't my favorite, their Pho is definitely better (in my palates opinion). For his entree he ordered the Curi Chicken. Vietnamese curry is nothing like Jamaican curry (just in case that's what you were going to associate it with). It has more of a sweeter taste to it. The next day when we came back for lunch we had the crispy rolls again, tasted just as good as the night before. And we both had the Pho Ga-chicken noodle soup. I think the Pho Ga was better than the Pho Sate I had the night before, but both were good. The service was just as good as the food too. Our waiter was on top of refilling our waters every time we got half way. And took away the plates soon after we finished with them. Btw, from what we noticed dinner tends to be busier than lunch. Did notice a lot of people get take out for lunch, which may be why it's not as busy/packed as dinner time. To top it off, not only is the food and service good, but the price is also pretty good. If you only went in to have some Pho, you could eat for about $8-10/person. Not a bad deal at all in my opinion. So to sum it all up, I would definitely recommend this place and come back whenever I'm in Boston!!!

Not bad for a pho place run by Thai people! Banh Xeo - 3.5/5: not very Vietnamese-ish. Not bad though! Chicken dumplings - 4.5/5: clearly frozen dumplings, but yum! The sauce was also very good. Pho - 4/5: pretty good! A bit over priced, but tasty. Duck Noodle Soup - 3/5: mediocre. The soup was okay, the noodles a bit soggy, and the duck just wasn't very good. Pass on this. Vermicelli w/ grilled pork- 3.5/5: Wasn't enough food, really. Overall, I think they tried to put a twist on all of their plates and it kinda works, kinda doesn't. If you want authentic Vietnamese food, skip this place and head over to somewhere in Chinatown or Dorchester. If you're looking for a cute modern place that does Thai food pretty well and Vietnamese food on the side, this would be a good option. Not impressed but will honestly probably be back. Service is also not too friendly.

Not bad! After a long and stressful Saturday, I ended up here with a large (and I mean around 20 people) party. Workers didn't even blink and eye or make a face at us! That is always a good way to start a dining experience. Placing orders was of course loud and complicated, but still the service given did not diminish. The food was decent! The pho was acceptable, but what really tasted even better was the noodle dishes! I wish I had gotten that instead of the pho, actually. My only complaint is that the serving time of food was a little wonky. One friend had already eaten all her food while many others were only just getting their food. They did the same with the bubble tea orders.

Food here was absolutely delicious, the restaurant was very clean, and the service was great. Came here with 2 old friends as we were all craving some warm soup, and we were all so pleasantly surprised by this place! When it comes to pho, it's all about the broth in my opinion, and this place hit it on the mark. My chicken was cooked perfectly, it wasn't chewy like other places can be, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Everything was very fresh too. The decor of this place is very relaxed and casual, and Id recommend it as a cute date spot or just a nice place to gather with a few friends for some great tasting pho in the Boston area. Location is great, and the place is relatively new, and I think they are doing a great job. I really loved my experience here and will definitely be back soon!

This place is OVERHYPED go to Dorchester for authentic an vietnamese cuisine. They should at least have someone who speaks vietnamese!! The food isn't good either. The proportions are ridiculous they barely gave me any noodles in my hu tieu it was mostly vegetables. IT WAS SUPER SALTY oh it wasn't even hu tieu. We had the pineapple rice SALTY. Its overpriced and overall not worth it. The boba was hard! It wasn't one bit chewy or soft

Had the beef pho here and friend had a beef stir fry with rice. It was not bad, and there was a huge portion of noodle, decent portion of beef (that was well sliced and of a good cut). The soup was tasty, but not entirely rich - I would say it's not exactly Vietnamese richness. Great service and nice atmosphere for a hang out though.

This place is fantastic and has great prices for its location on Newbury Street. The service is fast -- and they have a huge menu. I'm vegetarian, and they allow you to supplement tofu for chicken in many of the dishes. Aside from the classic vegetable tofu pad thai, I'd recommend the Honey Chicken (with tofu). The Mango Delight is also an interesting change from the traditional.

I stopped here midday after the lunch-rush. The seating outdoors is cramped; I had a few pleasant exchanges with the table next to me. Hopefully the seating is a little better indoors. The service is friendly. There was only one waitress/the hostess taking care of the patio. Granted it's small, but I noticed the table in the far corner get frustrated when she wasn't quite as attentive with them. The food fare is overpriced, but of course you're on Newbury St. I'd advise you to take the extra couple of steps and wander to the skirts of Chinatown if you're really craving Vietnamese food. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. It took a while to come out. The dressing was not mixed well--I got a lot of undissolved sugar sitting at the top of my greens. I'm always a fan of sugar but feeling it sit on my lips as I eat a salad is rather unpleasant. The chicken was also tough and dry. I love Vietnamese food, so I enjoyed the flavors, but nothing about this was done well. There was also kim chi fried rice as well as drunken noodle on the menu...I'd suggest they get the Vietnamese cuisine down first if "Pho" is 1 in 3 letters of their name.

I really enjoyed everything I tried here. We came in with a large group. They had no problem accommodating 23 people at different tables when I had made a reservation. They could split bills and were very friendly with us. I heard everyone enjoyed their smoothies. I personally tried the Thai tea, green tea smoothie, and the red bean smoothie which were all delicious! I split the pho and drunken noodles with a friend, and both were very good. The place is clean and neat, pretty small and cute. Inside you have to go downstairs and there is a small area to eat outside if you would like. I really liked this place!

Who says Pho is not for hot days??? Totally disagree... or at least not for this pho place where you can escape super hot days on Newbury Street. First of all, their ambiance is a hit. Unlike other pho places, this place makes you feel relax like you re on vacation. I love blue wooden wall and pendant lights, they are totally fit together. Also, their food was neat and beautiful, yet delicious. I tried their Pho sate which was fantastic, as well as their calamari appetizer. The price is reasonable, especially for the Back Bay neighborhood. Don't forget to try their bubble tea. The Ovaltine bubble tea is the best.

Had the vegetarian tofu pho and was really happy with it. BF had some beef something. Very reasonably priced and the space was cute. They sort of seem to try and rush you out of there though so I wouldn't pick this place to chill and relax. It's like, get in, eat, get out.

Me and my friend, we went for an early dinner on Friday. They have a nice little seating outside but they were full so we decided to go inside. And the interiors were simple and cute and green! We had to try the smoothies bcz they had so many yummy options. We called for lychee smoothie with tapioca but u can give tapioca a miss (too head and chewy). We ordered for entrees right away.. I got sriracha shrimp and my frnd got drunken noodles. We played safe bcz it was our first time there and also we aren't comfy with Asian food. We loved every bite :) the servers were very cute and warm. They were attending us constantly. I will definitely visit gain and again :D

After a beautiful walk around the Boston Public Gardens and then down Newbury Street, it was time to try Beantown Pho & Grill. Just a few weeks since it has been opened, I was went down the stairs and was greeted by server, who asked if I wanted a table or a bar seat, which faced the window. The decor was cute, very relaxing. Nice colors, clean, and bright. It looks a little small, but feels comfortable. The server helped me pick out a good Pho. The menu is two-sided, with options from noodles, to chicken, to soups. Everything seemed reasonably priced, and the descriptions on the menu were informative. The server, with an accent, listened well and provided explanation as needed. I picked a sweet and sour Pho, with shrimp, chickens, and vegetables. It didn't take long for it to come out, and it was a big bowl and full of great taste. I was very pleased. In addition to water, I ordered a Thai Iced Tea -- this was like drinking heaven. I've had bubble tea and milk tea all over Boston, but this was amazing! If you are just looking for a sweet, refreshing drink after shopping all day on Newbury Street, come here! The reviews state its hard to find the stairs -- they are right behind the sign (i put a picture on Yelp), on the left. In addition, there is outdoor seating. There is no beer or wine (or liquor), but I understand it is coming in the future. I highly, highly recommend based on the food, decor, and service.

Right before we went back to New York, we stopped by this place. It did not disappoint! The Pho was affordable and delicious! The noodles were freshly placed in the soup and served in such healthy portions. The Banh Xeo was also a delicious appetizer to start it all off.

Are you kidding me. Amazingly horrible food. Please shut down the restaurant. And while you're at it, shut down half the restaurants on Newbury St. The worst thai I've ever eaten, PERIOD. If you want bland and unseasoned pad thai, order from here. If you want bland dumplings, order from here. The only good thing about this place was that the hostess was sweet and service was good. But my god I've never eaten such terrible food. And this goes for many restaurants on Newbury St.

Great lunch spot. Stopped in for takeout since I was picking up a pie at Petsi's next door. Got the chicken basil stir fry with rice. Lunch special came with salad, an egg roll, potsticker and soup. Good deal for $9. Dish was flavorful and full of fresh ingredients. Just the right amount of spice and not too greasy. I even had leftovers.

I've never had pho before so maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about but, while I appreciated that this place actually had vegetarian pho, I wasn't particularly excited about my meal. That's not to say it was bad. I just didn't get any thrill from eating my meal. I might come back with friends again if they wanted to, but I won't be going out of my way to eat here.

Yum! I'm surprised to find good food on Newbury Street. I had the Pho and tried the Pad Thai (on the sweeter side which I like). I also got the spring rolls which were fresh and tasty. I had the Pho Chay with the tofu and it was great. Flavorful without the additional stuff and with the extra toppings, it was great. I will be back especially when I am in the area. Small space and busy so be prepared to wait.

LOVE this place! Came in here back in February to escape the cold, but it ended up being one of the most satisfying meals I had during my visit to Boston. They had a very good vegetarian pho, which I devoured with a green tea flavored bubble tea, which was spectacular! The inside is small, but cute and trendy, and the service was good. Truly a hidden gem, and I will be back again when I am in Boston.

Great food! The chicken/shrimp salad (Goi Tom Ga) and Vietnamese chicken noodle soup (Pho Ga) are *incredible*, filling, and affordable! The chicken is high-quality and shredded (not ground or in huge chunks), which makes the food taste even better. Since I've been eating here a lot since moving to Boston, I decided to try some other high rated pho places around, and this is by far the best in the area.

Patio location is nice for people watching. Service was very attentive. Food was good. I had the $10 Banh Xeo starter and $9 Pho Dac Biet. Next time I'll ask for the bean sprouts in the Banh Xeo to be steamed a bit, it can be a bit unwieldy to eat with all the veggies sticking out everywhere. The crispy outside cradles the shrimp, bean sprouts and green onions, a side of veggies can also be added to the mix to make a refreshing appetizer. The Pho was in a deceptively deep bowl, I couldn't finish it all (though w/o the starter, I definitely could have!). It was a decent bowl of soup with nice flavoring, but it didn't wow me. Some of the slices of meat, though generous, were a bit more than a mouthful and could have been cut smaller. Overall a nice ethnic restaurant that can cater to the Newbury crowd with decent prices and friendly staff & a comprehensible menu.

Went here for lunch to try out the pho, it was average, at best. The broth was not too flavorful, but the presentation and the portions were good. I had the Pho Haisan and it definitely filled me up, but wish it had a little more flavor. They serve drinks in little mason jars with handles, which I liked. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. I just wish the Pho had a little more flavor!

We read Yelp reviews before going there and were disappointed. The noodle soups (Pho Tai and Pho Dac Biet) were not prepared with real beef broth. The grilled beef was not fresh; worse, the rice was only half-cooked. The waitress never smiled or checked on us. We would have been much better off if we had gone to other Pho places in Chinatown not far away.

very good with great service. Ordered all kinds of stuff, some octopus thing wasn't the greatest, too much batter but garnished very nice. Also tried the duck which was ok and a Shrimp basil deal that was excellent, right amount of heat. Coworker had pho which he enjoyed but was missing the jalapenos that are sometime served on the side. no alcohol but plenty of other choices. Very nice people and good service
Good pho and good atmosphere. Service was great. Definitely a must if you are in the area and need a quick inexpensive bite. I Do not recommend the calamari, it was pretty tough, like mini rubber bands.

Visited this place last weekend. Despite it was difficult to spot the restaurant from the outside, their food especially grill was unique. While other shops around tended to go for classy Eastern European style, this place had their own theme assumed to be Vietnamese-Thai. (Healthy~*, I like it) Staff were very friendly and talkative. Even the young chef came to greet us himself. He let us try his special sauces with our Banh Hoi. My advice, grab the seat at the patio in the early afternoon and order any authentic Vietnamese food with green tea smoothy. You might just addict it as I do.

I understand that being on Newbury Street alone "allows" you to to a bit of a mark up, but I can't justify spending $15 on a Vietnamese entree no matter how good it is. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and ordered a Pho Dac Biet (only one size and it's comparable to a regular - not large - size anywhere else) for $9 or $10 and the lemongrass chicken entree for $13 or $15. The pho was just okay - the broth lacked flavor. The chicken entree was decent, but definitely not worth the price. The service was good and the restaurant is small, but cute. Overall, a good dining experience, but for the price, I'd rather go elsewhere.

A diner with a fresh and bright decor. Service with a smile by friendly ladies. Down side is that they don't have any beer or wine to accompany their food. Plus side is that they have great looking platters. I had a crispy crepe which was definitely crispy, the balance in the filling (95% bean sprouts, 5% other) was a bit off. Their coconut cream soup noodles with chicken and shrimp was good, a bigger bowl than I had expected, rice noodles which were a bit too soft. Overall a place where you can have a quick and tasty lunch or dinner.

Loved our first meal at Beantown Pho! It's right around the corner from our place so we are very happy to have another good food addition to the otherwise blah Newbury Street selections. The service was very polite and friendly, as well as fast. We ate the Indonesian fried rice, which was a flavorful version of the nasi goreng we ate every day on a trip to Indonesia last summer. We also got the chicken Chiang Mai curry which was quite tasty, though a tiny bit too saucy. The grand finale was a mango pineapple bubble tea with "exploding yogurt balls"....um, yeah!!!?? It was amazing! You can see my face upon first taste in the photos.

Not the best pho in town, but could be OK for back bay. Although not a deal breaker, I was annoyed that even though I tipped more than 20%, they charged me a different amount than I put on the bill. I always round up to the dollar, so it's obvious when they tack on more than I wrote -- just getting it out there.

A nice place to eat a bowl of Pho on a cold Boston day! The Pho is great. Skip the Thai food. We've done takeout here several times and been disappointed.

Great Vietnamese food on Newbury Street. I found this new restaurant by surprised just by walking down the street today. The outside level is small and crampy. Just a few small tables and chairs on the sidewalk but it's nice to sit outside Newbury and just eating your meal, enjoying the nice spring weather and people watch. The waiters are super friendly and the services are good. The menu have a wide variety selection of Vietnamese foods and drinks. It's about time Newbury open another Vietnamese restaurant after Pho Pasteur closed down a long times ago.

Came here for lunch with a classmate last month on one of Boston's freezing days and the pho definitely hit the spot for me. Decent-sized bowl and cost a little more than I am used to paying for pho, but this place is on Newbury Street so I guess they can't afford to offer low prices. My classmate ordered one of the salmon dishes (Lemongrass Salmon I believe, but can't remember for certain), which was pretty good. It wasn't that crowded when we arrived, but it took about 25 minutes to get our food once we placed our order. Maybe it was because the salmon dish took a while, but it would have been nice if they waitress had given us some attention while we were waiting.

Amazing food, cute atmosphere, great service. Lychee smoothie ... Lovely. What more could you ask for?

This place was fantastic. The soup was absolutely amazing - one of the best broths I've ever tasted. Setting and atmosphere is nothing special, but the great food makes up for it.

Most excellent. Had the ginger fish and the sauce was perfect. Highly recommend any of their specialty drinks as the lychee juice was fantastic.

OK ok ok, I tried this place when it FIRST opened....through word of mouth. As I work very close by, a lot of my coworkers had been coming here and I just had to try it. So a month later and I order food from here 2-3 times a week. Everytime is as good as the last. I've never been disappointed and their smoothies are to die for!!!! I recommend the drunken noodle or spicy pad thai with chicken or shrimp...but you really can't go wrong with anything here. I've eaten at all sorts of places in my 5 years living here and this place really stands out. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE DELICIOUS FOOD.

Finally a good noodle soup place in boston! Loved the pho - was fresh and had the right balance of spices. The quantity was also just right. The servers are friendly and the outdoor seating very pleasant. Will definitely come here again. Highly recommended.

Came in during the marathon expo madness, sat down right away and ordered pho tai. Prices were reasonable and the broth/noodles were good. The meat could have been cooked less (it wasn't rare), but whatever. I didn't have to deal with crowds.

Sadly i used to be a regular. Dropped in one night for some chicken teriyaki waited ten mins then walked home. The chicken I got was not even cooked! I couldn't even bite it. Totally bummed, this place was once great.

Just okay, barely. I ordered the gyoza, fresh rolls, and pad thai. The gyoza were good but came with the tiniest dipping sauce I've ever seen for 6 dumplings. The fresh rolls were ALL lettuce :( not very tasty. The pad thai is dry and flavorless. I used the sauce from the fresh rolls to improve the pad thai. Unsweetened tea is good. Everything else is just tolerable. I would not order from here again.

Meh. Phogettable. Pho smelled good but was bland and lacking depth - not what I consider authentic pho. Service was meh. Pad thai was OK - I've had better. Don't think I'll return.

Wonderfully cute, clean and friendly place on Newbury St. Service was sweet and food came out quickly and was a good portion for the price. I had the Chicken with Ginger, Garlic, and Scallions and it was delicious- and good quality chicken. Thai hot sweet tea was yummy! Definitely want to come back to try the pho and noodle dishes.

We stumbled upon this place while in Boston for a conference, and it did not disappoint. Best Asian food I've had in quite some time! The pad kra prow was outstanding, and the mango with sticky rice was the perfect ending. We'll definitely be back!

Delicious, comforting, abundant, and fairly-priced. The place is clean and cute, the staff is very attentive. Enjoyed Vietnamese sweet & sour soup, which balanced all flavours so elegantly. Then moved on to beef pho, which was aromatic, spicy, and plentiful. Will come back!

So good! We randomly stopped here actually on our way to B Good last night on Newbury and really glad we did. We got the shrimp fresh spring rolls to start that had an awesome peanut sauce! We each got a bowl of the Pho Chay which comes with tofu and vegetables, though my boyfriend and his friend added chicken to theirs. They said the chicken was great. We also asked to have some spice and they brought out containers of this spicy sauce for us to add as we wanted. The flavor of that sauce was soooo good. The portion sizes were also great and so I will be eating my leftovers for lunch today. This may be my new go to for Pho when I don't feel like trekking into the craziness of China Town.

The menu is huge and covers a great deal of different delicious asian dishes! I always order the pho and add siracha and plum sauce! Moving from DC this Pho does not compare but it is a quick and easy way for me to get my Pho fix. The seating outside is a wonderful touch for a cheap date on Newbury! The staff is very nice and is helpful when it comes to making recommendation's

I was so excited to try this place and I finally did with a friend. The place is cute and cozy. We ordered the Thai iced tea and I LOVED how they put them in these mason jars! I like how the menu is split into Thai and Vietnamese cuisines, very helpful. I got some crab rangoons and pork skewers, which were pretty delicious. My friend got some kind of noodle soup. I like that the waitress was extremely nice. I would definitely recommend this place for dates, especially at night. They have white Christmas lights outside which sets the "perfect mood." Definitely try this place out when you have the time! I know I'd come back.

It was snowing and we were cold. We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. The food is delicious, especially the Thai Red Curry. The pho is also quite good and service was great. Overall, a wonderful meal. We will definitely come again.

Very solid. Pros: -Fills a niche in Back Bay -Great outdoor patio seating -Quick service -Very reasonably priced for the location (spent $31.11 for two entrees - two phos - and one appetizer - Vietnamese summer rolls) Other points: -Pho is easily tastier than the pho found at Le's (the other big Vietnamese chain to be found in the Boston area): noodles are springy and fresh, the meat is plentiful, and the broth doesn't taste like there is MSG in it...although caveat: not quite as tasty as the pho in Dorchester (duh!) -Summer rolls could use a tad more shrimp in it but otherwise tasty as well All in all, a great experience. Going back there today!

Great thai food on Newbury. Honestly, I was weary trying a new place on Newbury, but its awesome! I went to Thailand this year and for the first time back in Boston I actually felt like I was back there when I walked down the stairs into the adorable little restaurant. The staff was speaking thai and had my favorite drink of all time -thai iced tea. The drunken noodles with crispy chicken is our favorite, but all the noodles are great- I've tried all of them at this point. Its a great spot in the heart of the Back Bay for sitting in or delivery!

We stumbled upon this place while looking for another restaurant and decided to give it a go. My 13 yo loves pho. We sat outside which was perfect. They had umbrellas for shade. My son had chicken pho and I had veggie/tofu pho and we both thought it was some of the best we've had. They didn't bring lots of sauces. We had to ask and then we only got hoisen and siracha. We usually add jalapeños and other spicy options but it was actually fine. My mother had the pad Thai which also was really good. The bathrooms are downstairs in the restaurant and are clean and the restaurant is super cute. Next time we will probably eat there. The walls are brightly painted and everything looks clean. Prices are your avg. I think each bowl was around $8. We will def be back here.

Only open two weeks and sparse crowd at the dinner hour. Let's patronize them to beef up their numbers and keep them in business for they are hands down great! A short walk to Newbury for you conventioneers attending meetings at the Hynes convention center - not easy to find hidden down a short flight of stairs but once there the food, service and prices were great. Highly recommend the Muc Rang Muoi fried calamari salad, grilled pork Banh Hoi and a to die for dessert Mango Mochi - mango ice cream surrounded by a layer of pounded sticky rice plated on a mango coulis - whatever you do don't miss out on the new Beantown Pho & Grill

I saw the 4/12 stars rating, and I thought this place would be good. The staff is warm, welcoming, and prompt. They seated us pretty quickly outside at the street level. The ambiance outside on a summer afternoon is cool, and probably the only redeeming factor. We had grilled chicken for appetizer and I had grilled salmon for entree. The chicken was tasty, but the meat did not taste fresh. The grilled salmon ended being acceptable but nothing to rave about. So overall, I was underwhelmed by the food.

Prices are great and so is the service. I ordered the vegetarian pho and it was delicious. The interior seating ambience is quaint simple and modern but there is also outdoor seating. I do wish however that they have non diary milk like almond or soy because as much as I would love to have their thai iced tea I cannot due to dairy issues.

Great addition to Newbury Street. I think the Pho might be even better than Pho Pasteur. And as a vegetarian, I am very excited to see they make it so clear and easy to figure out on the menu which broths are veggie based and safe to eat! Tofu app was also excellent. The food was VERY fresh, not overly salty like some Asian food and they make it simple to add to your own tastes to ensure just how spicy you like it. This might be my favorite new lunch spot.

My girlfriend and I chose this restaurant for dinner on a whim, and I am so glad we did. We started off by ordering a mango smoothie to share, and that was excellent. I wish we had ordered two of them. By the time we finished that, our food was ready. We each ordered a bowl of pho. She had the one with tofu and veggies, and I ordered the spicy beef pho. All of the ingredients in our soups tasted fresh, and were well prepared. It was an incredible amount of food for a incredibly cheap price considering the location of the restaurant. We would definitely return here, and certainly recommend it to others.

The pho was not good at all. I ordered the chicken pho, and the broth was under-flavored and over-salted.

Food came up less than 3 min. Is it microwaved? The Pho is tasteless. The drunken noodle is not fresh. Told the waitress to make it mild spicy, but still make it very spicy. Very disappointed. Pho basil is still the only place to go for Pho.

Have been there twice, once for take out and once ate there. I really loved the dishes as well as the Thai tea! The place is a little bit small have to say, just like other restaurants and stores in Newbury. It took me some time to find this place, but it totally worth it!

(4)Nick H.
(5)Julia K.
(4)Nicole M.
Amazing food & amazing service. I am never disappointed when I come. Thai fried rice with chicken is my absolute favorite!!
(5)Dedania M.

(4)Laleh J.
I thought it was a good place in Back Bay for some Thai and Vietnamese food. Owners were nice.
(4)Trina T.
(5)Ryan R.

(4)Frank P.
The food here is alright, as I ordered pho, and it being a Thai restaurant, it tasted pretty good. However, I felt there was not enough noodles to match the amount of meat. But that could just be personal preference. I will say however, the Thai Iced Tea is arguably the best I have ever had.
(4)Audrey C.
(3)Arthur C.
(3)Tony S.
(3)Rohan K.
(5)Christopher W.
Served me raw pork. Did nothing to make situation better. Did not offer to take off bill. Raw pork.

(4)Lindsay S.
Came here for takeout. Great recommendations from the staff and good food. Try the Thai black tea!
(4)Julie R.
(5)Kimmi V.
(3)Lin H.
(3)Yara F.

Reminds of the Pho i had back in Taiwan. Very friendly staff, would get an extra star if they had a liquor license.
(4)Jennie K.
I almost always go there for my Pho fix after a shopping spree on Newbury. Very friendly staff and tasty food. Good value for money.
(5)Danielle R.

(5)stephen S.
Really good Thai and Vietnamese food. Great place for vegetarians and not. Very authentic and delicious.
(5)Yifei C.
OMG!! I wanna give them ten stars if I can!!! The pho dac biet is fantastic!!! The best I've ever tried in Boston! We also had a fried ice cream after that. The dinner made the day!!!
(5)Sue K.
Best Thai food ever!!! Tried dragon noodle, calamari, and crab lagoon!!!! Staff was very nice and food was good. Green tea smoothie was awesome! !!!!! Must try!!
(5)Ben L.
Stumbled across this place while visiting Boston. Place is pretty small with outside seating. It's was a nice day out so I opted to sit outside. I ordered the pho that came out steaming hot. The broth was very flavorful and the meat was fresh.
(4)Inês L.
Had the vegetarian tofu pho and was really happy with it. BF had some beef something. Very reasonably priced and the space was cute. They sort of seem to try and rush you out of there though so I wouldn't pick this place to chill and relax. It's like, get in, eat, get out.
(4)Devika G.

(5)Maria L.
Right before we went back to New York, we stopped by this place. It did not disappoint! The Pho was affordable and delicious! The noodles were freshly placed in the soup and served in such healthy portions. The Banh Xeo was also a delicious appetizer to start it all off.
(5)Zeeshan K.
(1)Sara C.
(4)Erika R.
Cute interior decor, friendly and attentive staff, and pretty good Vietnamese and Thai food. Not busy on Sunday afternoon. I ordered pho tai and my partner got shrimp pad see ew. Would come back again.
(4)Anand S.
(3)Mary B.
A hidden gem on trendy Newbury St. Nicely decorated and clean. Delicious pho. Highly recommend. Only downside is no wine or beer
(4)Jackie K.
(4)Lauren N.
(5)Derek J.
Great place to grab a hot steaming bowl of pho. Authentic taste and delicious menu. The Thai iced tea is on point too. Not too pricey either.
(3)Joey J.
(5)May N.
NOT WORTH THE HYPE. the food was super salty and the bubble tea taste like powder. the waiters and waitress werre thai so when my friend spoke Vietnamese to them they couldn't understand. I saw oil along with my chicken. the chicken was super dry
(2)Thomas S.
If it had darts would be perfect. Cheer Sam with aSams Boston Lager and don't forget the mudslide martini. It's a must fo
(4)Sarah G.
(4)Joe J.
(3)Colette M.
Very good boba and thai food. The crispy chicken was excellence. I got the Chiang Mai noodles which was fantastic. Get it with the crispy chicken.
(4)Adam S.
(1)Chris L.
very good with great service.
(4)Jon T.
My fiancé and I live in the neighborhood and where thrilled to hear that there was somewhere to get Pho. Being very nervous about it though because we are a bit picky. When I say this is the best Pho we have had in Boston, that would be an understatement. I am hooked. Keep up the good work!
(5)Grace L.
Good pho and good atmosphere. Service was great. Definitely a must if you are in the area and need a quick inexpensive bite. I Do not recommend the calamari, it was pretty tough, like mini rubber bands.
(4)Cameron R.
One of my favorite places to eat in Boston!
(5)Yun K.
(5)Victoria P.
(3)Tina V.
(3)MaryLynne G.
(5)N T.
(2)Stella D.
A nice place to eat a bowl of Pho on a cold Boston day! The Pho is great. Skip the Thai food. We've done takeout here several times and been disappointed.
(3)Jonathan N.
(4)Ali G.
(4)Jillian N.
Amazing food, cute atmosphere, great service. Lychee smoothie ... Lovely. What more could you ask for?
(5)Steve W.
This place was fantastic. The soup was absolutely amazing - one of the best broths I've ever tasted. Setting and atmosphere is nothing special, but the great food makes up for it.
(5)John G.
Most excellent. Had the ginger fish and the sauce was perfect. Highly recommend any of their specialty drinks as the lychee juice was fantastic.
(5)Kyle J.
(5)Saurabh R.
Finally a good noodle soup place in boston! Loved the pho - was fresh and had the right balance of spices. The quantity was also just right. The servers are friendly and the outdoor seating very pleasant. Will definitely come here again. Highly recommended.
(5)Riley J.
Really friendly service, delicious blend of Thai and Vietnamese cuisines and a colorful inside. Great new addition go Newbury!
(5)Teresa G.
Came in during the marathon expo madness, sat down right away and ordered pho tai. Prices were reasonable and the broth/noodles were good. The meat could have been cooked less (it wasn't rare), but whatever. I didn't have to deal with crowds.
(4)Danielle G.
Sadly i used to be a regular. Dropped in one night for some chicken teriyaki waited ten mins then walked home. The chicken I got was not even cooked! I couldn't even bite it. Totally bummed, this place was once great.
(1)Kate M.
(2)Lynn D.
Meh. Phogettable. Pho smelled good but was bland and lacking depth - not what I consider authentic pho. Service was meh. Pad thai was OK - I've had better. Don't think I'll return.
(3)Jennifer Y.
(5)Susan K.
We stumbled upon this place while in Boston for a conference, and it did not disappoint. Best Asian food I've had in quite some time! The pad kra prow was outstanding, and the mango with sticky rice was the perfect ending. We'll definitely be back!
(5)Aisha D.
(5)Jenna O.
(5)Lacey S.
(3)Jennifer L.
(5)Emily H.
It was snowing and we were cold. We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. The food is delicious, especially the Thai Red Curry. The pho is also quite good and service was great. Overall, a wonderful meal. We will definitely come again.
(5)Tara T.
(4)Jj F.
(5)C A.
Overall very nice experience with friendly staff. Pad Thai was flavorful. They do not have alcohol lic yet.
(4)Andria B.
(4)Gary J.
(5)Zhu Z.
(2)Aria D.
(4)Betsy H.
(4)Kevin C.
(5)Harry S.
Tried the Coconut Tomyam Soup and bubble tea (takeout) both were very good. This restaurant is a great addition to the Back Bay.
(4)Bratsche N.
I've been twice. The food is average, but the service odd, confusing and inattentive. Won't be back.
(2)Jarukit L.
This place is great! Love the green tea smoothies and the staff is very friendly. In addition to Pho, various thai dishes can also be found.
(5)Elaine L.
The pho was not good at all. I ordered the chicken pho, and the broth was under-flavored and over-salted.
(1)Erdan L.
Food came up less than 3 min. Is it microwaved? The Pho is tasteless. The drunken noodle is not fresh. Told the waitress to make it mild spicy, but still make it very spicy. Very disappointed. Pho basil is still the only place to go for Pho.
(1)Yu L.
Have been there twice, once for take out and once ate there. I really loved the dishes as well as the Thai tea! The place is a little bit small have to say, just like other restaurants and stores in Newbury. It took me some time to find this place, but it totally worth it!
(5)Jill G.
best pho in town. good pricing, too. went here last week and had a delicious chicken pho soup. no complaints about their service as well!
(5)
