Love Bar 10!! Wife and I come into Boston for a weekend at the Westin several times a year. Before and/or after dinner we head into Bar 10. As we are both in the over 50 crowd, we never feel out of place. It's lively, comfortable and the service has always been right on. Drinks are great and the appys in the afternoon are tasty and well priced. We never felt as if we are being rushed. A good deal.

Bar 10 is one of my favorite places for cocktails. My favorite is the flirtini. I don't ever eat here- the food is not amazing and very expensive. I absolutely love the people watching. It's great to grab a corner table with a friend and just observe. If you're not sure what libation to get, ask your waiter for suggestions. They're pretty friendly and down to earth.

I like this place for an after-work drink. I love that they serve Boddingtons because I don't think I've seen many bars that serve it. Yum yum delicious. I also like their pomegranite martinis, thought I think they're a bit overpriced...but then again, it's in the Westin so what do you expect? All the times I've been there, it's never been over crowded. The ambiance is pretty chill....though I thought it was weird that they had the curtains closed while the sun was out, and opened them at night. Does it HAVE to be dark to make it feel all cool & mysterious? Meh.

Swanky yet low key. Waitstaff and bartenders make you feel at home and welcome whether you just walked in for one drink when the place is jam-packed or if you popped in to spend the night here. For cozy snuggling with someone special, arrive before 10pm. There are ample nooks for sitting close. For a night out with the crowd arrive after 10 and stay toward the large high top tables and long wide bar. Bar 10 has a creative martini menu, fit for all tastes. It lists everything from a classic dirty martini (served ice cold) to a blueberry muffin (blueberry stoli, vanilla brandy and white chocolate gidiva liqueur). If there's something you particularly crave that's not on the menu, they'll make it. This bar carries all the good old comfy standard liquor plus some new and edgy more hip and trendy alcohol and mixers (think white cranberry juice). Drinks are pricey but generous. Food is moderately priced for this type of venue. Good choices and the bar serves a spicy snack mix a la Bonfire earlier in the night.

Came back here after a few month and service is consistent - you get a mix of fun locals and folks staying at the hotel. Food is great lite smart bar-food. Bartenders know how to make GIMLETS!!! ( unlike the sloppy now passe Whiskey Park). I liked the mix of people odd balls / drunk couples/ older folks and young. I always drop in here when in the area.

Fantastically large martinis and the food is not a bit bad either. Great location and excellent atmosphere, especially after one of the fantastically large martinis.

GREAT cocktail and wine list to choose from - they even describe how the wine drinks on the menu. Haven't tried the food but the friends I was with really liked their salads and pizza. Seating is low and comfortable, great for a group of four or five to sit down and catch up. My one issue was with the music - they turned it up like we were in a club or something. Really not necessary. We all had to yell to one another. Try the sangria. Tastes like grown up Kool Aid!

I had drinks there with a friend after work. The service was excellent. Our waitress was firstclass and the drinks were very good, however a bit overpriced compared to other bars in the immediate vicinity, like on Boylston street.

I do judge a bar by their cosmos... As you can see... the cosmos were not so tasty.... will not come back here for drinks.

I've been here a few times now, and each time, I've had a great time. It's a good place to meet friends for drinks/apps/dinner, I personally like it b/c it's super close to work. I like the dark lounge-y vibe of the place, the dark fabrics, low lighting, comfy chairs and benches to sit in/on. The music is really a bit too loud though. The food has always been terrific here. We had calamari last night, cooked perfectly. Not greasy, the batter was light and not overdone at all. The red pepper/pesto sauce served with it was great. I had the chicken fusili pasta last night, amazing. The pasta was homemade (not sure if by the Westin, or a local vendor), and the parmesan sauce was creamy and delicious. My friend had the cod, which was tender and flaky. Overall, a great dinner. Their wine list is decent, they carry one kind that we both just love (Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel), so we didn't really look beyond that. We had to skip dessert so I could catch my train, but it looked great, will have to make time next time! The prices are a little higher than I'd like for an after work drinks & apps place, but it's a lot better than the many fried and typical app options you'll find at most of the other choices in the area. I'll definitely be back again.

It's been a while since I've been there but they have one of the best burgers around. Comes on a toasted buttery brioche bun with crispy but not greasy fries. Get one with the caramelized onions and you won't regret it. I found out that this burger is also available at Turner Fisheries. Guess it comes out of the same kitchen since they are in the same hotel. I don't drink but my friends love the bar as well. Can get very crowded since it has a happening bar scene. Check out the other items on the menu. Great place to nosh on apps and people watch.

Very solid, cool vibe, nice music, and good food. The carpaccio was legit! I also did the Pizza Toscana also very good.

I have to agree with most of the reviews below. The bar menu and the drinks are really well made. At the same time, the staff there seem to care less that you are there, or even want to refill your drink once you are finished. It seems that you are an annoyance to them. I ordered a beer and poured 3/4 of it into my glass, and the next thing that I know one of them grabbed it and poured the rest into the sink. We stayed for 1 drink and left based solely on the bartenders attitudes.

"Bar10"..... great for appetizers and drinks after work or before going out. Lighting is sexy/intimate... always fun to people watch. If blinds are open, beautiful views of Copley Square.

Bar 10, i'll give you a 7. Your staff is cordial and attentive. Your atmosphere is low-lit, loungy and comfortable. Your not hard to find and you don't make me feel out of place in a pair of jeans. However, I once again order a Manhattan, sweet vermouth straight up with lemon at an establishment and once again get a cherry plopped in to my drink instead. It's frustrating to give a specific yet simple order and have it fall on deaf ears. Initially you seemed like a 9 but i guess i can attribute that to the dim lighting.

friendly staff and the flatbreads are perfect to take the edge off before heading out for a meal. Cozy and modestly priced in the lobby of the Westin.

Bar 10 is located in the Westin Copley Place. It's swank- warm, dark colors, very stylish, and yet doesn't feel snooty. It's a great place to come with your gal pals for cocktails or a glass of wine (great reds, big glasses!). I haven't had the food here so I can't review it. When I'm here I feel very relaxed. Lots of soft places to sit and flattering lighting (lots of candles) and there are gorgeous private rooms in the back. They also have a private area in the bar they close off with willowy white curtains- so tasteful. Not a place to come if you want a yah-dood bar experience.

We were here on a Saturday night. It didn't start to get busy until around 10:30pm, probably. I like that it's dark, the music isn't toooo loud. I like that I probably won't run into anyone I don't want to see there, as the crowd must differ a lot due to the hotel guests. The bartenders are attentive, even though they had just put out a new drink list and weren't quite sure how to make everything 100% yet. I would go back, because I have liked my nights to be more laid back than I used to in my younger days. Havent tried the food. Will do that next time.

How did I forget to write a review for Bar 10? What I love about this place - it's swanky looking inside and there's a cool vibe AND I don't feel like an old hag hanging out with college kids here. There are *gasp* people my age AND older... YEY! oh and the cocktails are tasty too, what's not to love about that? Only con: it can get really crowded.

The atmosphere here totally depends on whatever conference is in town - really - I've seen everything there from college administrators (yawn) to huge midwestern union guys (very not yawn). But..... the tables are somehow easy to relax at..... and it's sort of dark and loungeish... in a good way.

I ordered Bar 10's classic burger without cheese and cooked to medium rare. It took a LONG time to arrive. When it did arrive, it was incredibly overcooked (it went beyond 'well-done' to take reidence in the territory of 'hockey puck') and was incredibly over-salted. It tasted like ground rubber with at least 1/4 cup of kosher salt added. The rosemary fries that came with it had no rosemary flavor, were overcooked to the point at which I felt I was chewing on toothpicks, but had even more salt than the truly awful burger. The worst part: this practically inedible burger and fries cost $16, and they tasted worse than anything off of a fast food chain' dollar menu. The second worst part: the service was incredibly slow, even though the place was less than 1/3 full. I would have sent the burger back (something I don't do often) if I'd had time, but even though I had 90 minutes for lunch, I had to plunk down cash for my tab plus tip in order to get out of there in time. Not once did anyone ask me how my food was. Not once did anyone come to refill my water. Since I'm a local, I'll try to stop in to explain to the manager in person why I would never, ever eat there again. I regret that I didn't have time to tell her/him personally at the time. I was happy to pay $16 for a decent pub burger on a buy day of job interviews, but the food was the absolute worst I've had at that price point -- and since no one gave me opportunity to give constructive and tactful feedback, the only way Bar 10 will know that they have serious problems is if the management reads Yelp.

Don't let the trendy hipness fool you . There's a real chance you could choke on foreign objects in your soup or die from dehydration.. The waitress seemed pleased it wasn't glass in the soup. Why, is there glass in the soup on certain days? Twenty minutes to obtain a glass of water?really? I was handed TWENTY $1 bills as change.Why?3 female NP's..did I look like I needed ones for an afternoon strip show?

This bar is sort of hidden in the Westin at Copley. I only realized it was there when I was searching for Fogo de Chao. My friend and I were looking for a place we could have some drinks and hang out and bar 10 was the perfect spot. Nice couches and chairs to sit at and overall the noise level is pretty low. The only thing was that yes it is pricey. My friend and I were surprised at the end when we got our bill. Ooops! Our cocktails ran between $13-$14, but the beers weren't too bad at $6 or $7 a pop. We also had the calamari and artichoke dip. Both were very good and nice portions.

Enjoyed this place when we went here for New Year's. Not overcrowded and a plus no cover. Drinks are hotel bar prices but they definitely had a heavy hand! They had a dj for the night and a lot of seating which I was impressed with. The bartenders are speedy and there is a huge mix and age range (hence it's a hotel bar). I think this is a great place to grab an after dinner drink or start the night.

Convenient place to grab a $7 beer or $12 mixed drink and have it charged to your room, if you're into that kind of thing. We sat up at the bar and loaded up on some complimentary honey pretzel bites to accommodate (until we realized we were going to dinner soon and had to push those away).

Bar 10 is in my mind one of the most laid back lounges I've been in. If you and a lady friend of your are looking for a quick place to grab a small plate of food and a couple drinks, Bar 10 might be the place for you. Bar 10 tends to be filled with people in town for a short period of time who are staying at the Weston. It's furnished with great couches that are comfy and promote nice intimate conversations. After you are done with your meal and drinks, you can head right outside where there is a beautiful, quite lounge that belongs to the Weston I assume. There are couches that surround a big fireplace. This is perfect for continuing a great conversation and getting to know your date. Afterword just take a stroll around the prudential!!!! What a great place to spend some time with someone you just want to be with!

I ended up here after a looooong looooooong looooooong day of being at Copley. I started off in the hotel because I was auditioning to be a contestant on Jeopardy! I came thisclose, but unfortunately, did not get a spot on the show. So, my friend TJ met me after the Jeopardy test and we decided what we needed was to go shopping. I am not a shopper, I like to get in, get out, and go home. Or, go drink. We went to a few stores and then spent the rest of the day drinking and shopping, shopping, and drinking. And before I knew it, 7.5 hours later it was dark out and we were thirsty. We ended up at Bar 10 in the Westin Hotel. The place is very plush. Soft couches that allow you to melt into the lounge. I felt like I was floating when I left. Was this a good thing? You be the judge. Pricey drinks. Pretty ok service. I should probably go drink some water now.

Recently Bar 10 was visited by a drunk monkey That monkey might have been me. This turned out to be a perfect starting place for a big group to gather to buy me some drinks for my birthday. (monkey is OLD) 'Some drinks' turned into a lot of drinks - and therefore was also an ending place, as we made it until the ugly lights came on It's big enough, dark enough, loungey enough, and void of most of the douchiness of other comparable bars - so it gets good marks. It's pricey and some of the waitstaff can be pushy, but in an efficient way (read: sadly there was little lag time between drinks. Read: part of the cause for monkey drunky) I wish bars like this existed in hotels I stay at on the road.

Bar 10 is like the Maryanne of sexy/intimate bars....Not as sexy as Ginger, but still darn cute Think of it as vapid yet not vain Cliches aside, this is a great place for a little boozin' and the food is surprisingly good for any bar.....

For a hotel bar, I like this place. I think it's funny that they close the shutters and make it dark around 5. Adds to the chic vibe. Pretty happening place. The sangria is good too.

I realize it was Marathon Monday but so should they and perhaps staff more than one person behind the bar. I asked the manager who was floating around if they might want to have another person or two jump behind the bar because it was so busy and she sneered at me and replied "I have two people working the front bar and two people working the back." To which I replied "There only appears to be one person working at the back bar (true) and that maybe even one ADDITIONAL person was warranted even beyond the two that were supposedly working." She ignored me and I went back to waiting 20 minutes to order beers for my friends and I. There was an even longer wait when I went to the back bar later. Get your act together, Bar 10.

Dinner with a group of 8. - charcuterie - ok. good portion. $26 is a bit extreme. - spinach dip and calamari appetizers - chain restaurant style version of both. - burger - ordered the b and b but had cheddar instead of brie. meat was bland but the spice from the red pepper aioli gave it a surprisingly good kick. Group got into town late on a Friday so dining options for such a large group w no reservation were limited. Utilized the 50% off deal that I had. Would not eat here under any other circumstances.

Super secret bar...in the middle of the mall! I've been Winter walking through Copley mall since 2009, but only happened upon Bar 10, in the Weston Hotel, because they were hosting a charity event there. This tiny tavern is tucked away from mall traffic, hidden around the corner from the hotel lounge. The leather couches are lovely high backs, and the atmosphere is very chill and classy. (I would take my Mistress there on any given night.) THE DEAL: Want some privacy? This is the place!

What I love about Bar 10 is their early morning breakfast that is served in the back room called the Huntington. I always come here first thing whenever I need to have a quiet time to myself before I devote my hours to studying next door at the Boston Public library. They have a beautiful view overlooking public gardens, prudential center and Copley square hotel. They serve both buffet and on menu. My meal of choice is raisin bran cereal with mixed berries!

I may have my drunken goggles on, or maybe it's because everyone there is so dressed up, but everyone seems to be attractive in this place. Seeing men in suits and women in cocktail dresses always makes me wanna hang out for longer, especially on a Saturday night. The crowd here is probably on the mature side --youngest at late 20s, oldest at late 50s. Everyone appeared to be well-dressed and enjoying themselves. Their drinks are STRONG, but at $14 for a cocktail and $10 for beer, they better be. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the place.

Located inside the Westin Copley Place, one of the nicest and most sophisticated hotels in the somewhat decent city of Boston, I came here because a friend wanted to get some good drinks with some people. Since this bar is located inside a hotel, do not expect the drinks to have any great value, but you should have a lot of money in your hand and you should have the mind of "someone who splurges" rather than someone who tends to be "thrifty". When I walked into this place, I did not feel like I was in Boston. Rather, it felt like I was in a sophisticated bar in either New York City, Toronto, San Francisco, London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, Shanghai or even in Hong Kong. So this is not a bad choice if you want to go someplace that is sophisticated. However, the clientele that seems to come to this place can be really sophisticated or they can be the "epitomes" of the "typical Americans." So you may find a fairly diverse range of people. Beers are going to be fairly expensive since this place is inside a sophisticated hotel. Be prepared to spend at least $7 for a Heineken or a Stella Artois. I liked how when they served the Heineken, they also provided a nice and cold glass so you could pour your bottle of beer. As for cocktails, the ladies in my friend's party seem to enjoy them. One of the ladies said to me that she like the mojito they have here. On a whim, I decided get a Mai Tai. It was a really juicy and really sweet drink. Did not detect much alcohol content. The cherry they provide on this cocktail is going to be a "fake cherry" so don't expect any fresh juicy fruits as a garnish for your cocktail unless the fruit is an orange. Cocktails are also going to be fairly expensive. Be prepared to spend at least $13-14 on a glass. As for food, they serve this tasty pretzel-like snack. It's really addicting to eat and a great complement to the drinks. Interior is really comfortable, seats are soft, and if you relax yourself a little more, the seats could be comfortable enough to actually fall asleep in after a long day. Music is not too loud, so it does give a little soft ambiance. Service is okay, the people are fairly nice. If you are looking for a server or bartender that's gorgeous, this is definitely not a good option. Overall, this is not a bad choice to spend a lot of money on some decently good drinks, and need a "tiny sophisticated escape from Boston" though I would not come here for the beer but more for the comfort.

I came here for after dinner drinks and will return. Nice atmosphere and the bartender made an awesome white Russian. Prices are a bit much, but it is the Back Bay. Their food smelled really good so I look forward to trying that.

Super fancy appearance, poor drink pouring that was my experience with Bar 10. We were staying at the Copley Westin Place which is a very nice hotel. This is essentially the hotel bar. After a nice dinner out we decided to stop in for a night cap. While the atmosphere was very peaceful and nice the drink was not so much. I didn't even ask for a fancy drink it was something off of their menu that I have had before at other bars but it was almost undrinkable. I would expect that they used high quality alcohol since the drinks are pretty pricey, but it tasted as though it was made with a once charcoal filtered vodka. If you decide to go I'd say to stick with something from the tap.

When you come here on a co-worker social, the place is awesome, not too crowded, chic, relaxed lounge. However, we stopped by here on Saturday night and the place was pretty dead. On bright the bright side me and my friends were able to score the curtain private room VIP style. Only it was VIP style curtains without the VIP service. The waitress took our first round of drinks. My old fashioned seem to have turned into an old fashionISTA instead with Sprite spritzer oddly added to the mix that was just not how i intended to roll that night. Then the waitress seems to have forgotten she was serving us for the next 2 hours until finally we chased her down so we can pay and leave. So fail on the drinks, fail on the service and fail and the complete and utter emptiness of the bar on a Saturday finally above freezing weather night.

I'm going to consider this one another conflicted review, but I REALLY enjoyed my drink and the food was also good, so I feel it would be mean to short-change them. But the negatives just outweighed the good things that happened here, so what would have been a four-star review in a perfect world is actually just a two-star review. I'll start with the good. I had the berry mojito (or some permutation of that name) and it was fantastic. I want to marry this drink. I really enjoyed the mix of strawberry, mint, lime, and lemon that was in there. I drank it relatively fast, and needed another one. As with many drinking experiences, it's usually a great idea to grab some food. This is where things started to go downhill... fast. So... time for the not-so-good. Our server wasn't very attentive. Despite our sitting in the couch area right near the bar where she'd walk past us frequently... rarely did she stop to ask if we needed anything. We sat and waited for around a half hour to even put in a food order. We were there drinking, so it's not as if we were in a rush, but when you haven't eaten most of the day, that's a LONG time to wait for your order to be placed. And it throws off your food-induced sobriety balance. First you start getting louder, then you knock things over. Utter mayhem. Luckily it took the server so long to even notice our glasses were empty, there was no chance whatsoever to have the scales tip toward inebriation. Needing to be gluten free, I should have been a little wary of the server's unwillingness to find answers for me. I generally have the rule of thumb that if they can't answer questions, I won't eat there. However, with as long as she was taking I opted for the safest-looking thing I could find on the menu: spinach and artichoke dip with veggie chips. Prior to ordering the food I asked if the mojitos were gluten free, and if she could just do a quick check for me. Blank stare. OK, so I realize rum should be gluten free, but what if they're using some cheap Christmas Tree Shop mojito mixer? I didn't want to take the chance. But rather than walk the three steps to the bar to ask, she just looked at me and said "it's strawberries, mint, lime, and rum"..... yeah. That doesn't always help. So I asked, found out they were safe. Again, it took a while for her to even come back after dropping off the menus. I asked if the spinach and artichoke dip was gluten free, and again... blank stare. Like I was completely offending her by asking her questions that are the difference between sickness and health for me. I asked if she knew what was in it, and she said she could take away the pita chips. Good start. But when I asked if she could ask the kitchen, she again reiterated that she could take away the pita chips and it should be OK. Apparently asking the kitchen would have been very inconvenient for her. Now, actually ordering it AND eating it despite not knowing if it was safe is my fault. The signs were there, and I didn't heed them. So I can't blame the server or Bar 10 for my stupidity or how sick I am and will be the next three days, but I can be upset that that this happened. Again, totally my fault because I ordered without having the answer. I don't blame them for that. I do maybe a little blame them for what I'm interpreting as their not encouraging staff to take customer's food allergies seriously. That being said, I do wish to impress upon her the importance of actually finding out this information for people with allergies. It might be an extra walk and a pain in the ass, but if you don't know, you REALLY shouldn't guess. If I'm going out of my way to tell you that something as simple as a crumb or cooking something in the same oil as something breaded could make me sick for days, it should be taken seriously. Please, please, please take the extra five minutes to figure it out. Your tip will be bigger, I promise. Had the service been better as a whole, I would have gone up to the third star. All it would have taken was her popping maybe two more times in as she walked by, asking to fill our water glasses or if we needed another drink. We literally had to flag her down for refills or even to order. And most of the time she told us she'd be back before she'd even take the order. Had the server actually taken the time to stress the importance of there not being any traces of gluten in, on, or near my food to the people in the kitchen, or had she found out for me that there was no chance for that to happen, I think this visit would have easily been at least four stars for me-- the drink was that good! And for that matter, the food was that good as well! I just think that the server's lack of attention as a whole was inexcusable. And every time I have to take a break from writing this to puke, I get more and more angry. I'll try again, but only to drink. Not to eat.

I stopped in after work this past Friday for drinks with friends, and had a great experience! I was feeling fancy so I tried the Flirtini. It was expensive at $14 but so worth it! It was really delicious and pretty strong too. The ambiance here is classy but relaxed, the chairs are super comfy too. I'll definitely stop here again when I feel like having a fancy drink!

I'm a fan of Bar 10. It was a central location to meet up with my friends for drinks, and we were able to get a table with comfy chairs, even on a busy night. Everyone had already eaten dinner, but the food on their menu looked really good. I had a couple of raspberry mojitos that were delicious. They seemed to have a good selection of beer and wine, too. I liked the vibe of Bar 10, and it was a welcome departure from some of the loud bars around Boylston packed with 20-somethings. I'd come back again.

My new hangout in the back bay...the bar is located in the lobby of the Westin Copley and the crowd is pretty cool. They have good drinks and the bartenders are pretty flexible when it comes to making drinks that aren't on the menu. Try to get a table if you can or just sit on the high tops near the bar- either way you'll have fun!

Great ambiance. Cozy chairs and tons of booths. Modern, gorgeous and clean. Service at lunch was a little slow. Artichoke dip was rather bland and Cobb salad was TINY! Wish it was bigger. Was def still hungry after. Overall I would go back. Mini lobster rolls looked great and it's a fun place after work.

Just a regular bar. The lighting is kinda dim...actually too dim for my liking. You can be seated at the bar, tables, couches and what not. Drinks are rather on the expensive side and so are their appetizers/food. However, their complimentary Honey Mustard Pretzels are delicious! Crispy, sweet, salty, and tangy at the same time. They are so freaking good I would come back here just for that!!

I don't go to Bar 10 too often, but it's one of those places that I go to, and then say, "Why don't I come here more often??" I love that it's loungy, but there's more of a casual and relaxed feel to it. It's not loud and crowded like many other trendy hotel bars. There is a long table in the bar area for the social butterflies, however, my favorite are the tables down the middle of the place. You can put 2 tables together for seating for 4, and you each have your own leather chair to sit in. There aren't any drinks of food that really stand out, so don't expect to be wowed, but ambiance-wise, I love it as a chill place to sit down and catch up with a few friends for drinks and apps after work-

I used to work right near here, so we would go sometimes for a work lunch or post-work drinks. It is a little bit of a hidden gem, because it's in a hotel lobby in the mall, so not too many people seem to know about it. The atmosphere is trendy/upscale, with cozy sofas and chairs. The menu is pretty limited - mostly upscale bar bites. Their flatbreads are delicious, especially the one with goat cheese and greens.

Here's a short one to save you some time: If you like lounges, minus a busy crowd, this is your place Nice desserts Good drinks Great place for a date Done.

Bar-10 has a chic/trendy vibe - shuttered windows darken the room so it feels a lot later than it actually is. Perhaps this is their sneaky way of making you feel ok about drinking a botte of wine at 5:00 pm (whatever - it worked). There are yummy bowls of complimentary snack mix (slightly spicy - but very good). I had a gin and tonic (mixed well) and the service was very friendly. I went back for a work event a couple nights later and they offered us the "private" room in the back which was very tight and cramped for 50 people. However, the bartender was on his game and the waitresses hit up every corner of the packed room to make sure we all had drinks. Will definitely go again.

I was having a bad day so a friend suggested we meet for a drink at Bar 10. I had never been and was in desperate need of a drink so I agreed. Although it's in a hotel, it is not a typical "hotel bar". The decor is classy, the lights are low, and there is no television. The fact they have no tv is reason enough for me to recommend it. It almost reminds me of a larger (less intimate) version of City Bar in Copley. I can only comment on the drinks and appetizers, but would give both a 4 or 4.5. The appetizers are definitely large enough to share. I think this is a good place to go with girlfriends for an after work drink or on a date as long as you are aware that you may be faced with a lot of tourists--it is in Copley Place after all.

I've been coming to Bar10 for quite a few years. I've always thought of it as a hidden gem and a quiet spot to enjoy drinks and light fare in the Back Bay. I also understand the irony of treating a hotel bar as a local bar, but please disregard. Last night a friend and I wanted to check out their advertised promotion of a beer flight and wings for $10. We showed up went to order it, but the waitress apologized and said they meant to take down the sign earlier. Despite their oversight (and awkward conversation), she offered to give us the same deal. My buddy ordered the wings deal and I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken flatbread with no leeks (who puts leeks on a buffalo chicken pizza anyway?). As the food came, something didn't look right. After closer inspection, it was in fact a barbecue chicken pizza...not buffalo. I told the waitress this, she then gave me attitude about it, grabbed the pizza and told me she'll bring out the buffalo chicken with no leeks. After waiting another 12 minutes, the flatbread finally came to me...however, with mounds of leeks on it. Very annoying. I picked that gross green stuff off and finally dug in. Decent pizza but the cheese didn't taste too fresh. The bill came and the waitress charged me for the two pizzas. If anything, I thought she would comp the pizza or beer or something. After telling her of the oversight, she corrected the bill and that was that. Or so I thought. That cheese that didn't taste right totally had it's revenge and made for a terrible night of being sick. Not going back to Bar10 anytime soon. If you're looking for a drink and a relaxing environment in the Back Bay, check it out. Just don't order food.

Came here with some friends a few times. Sat at bar as well as have been seated. Tons of amazing starters. Great drink and always a good crowd. Nice to valet at the mall. If you hit the place early in the evening you might still be able to do some shopping in the mall.

There was a time when I loved Bar 10. At that time I was dating this boy, who was way too pretty for me, and it was his favorite spot. Unfortunately, the clientele is not as hip as it once was. The beautiful young'uns have moved onto other places, leaving behind overweight middle age white guys, trying to pull off a blue blazer with their ill fitting jeans. Oh sure you will occasionally see some fantastic Euro trashy men, but it is far and few in between. Okay about the place itself, the location is great right in the mall/hotel and centrally located in between the South End and Back Bay. I love their fruity cocktails, and especially love that they serve them in sensible glasses. (Martini glasses for cocktails is one of my biggest pet peeves.)

Bar 10 had massive potential when it first opened up in '99. If you are involved in the Boston hospitality scene, then you surely know that story of the infamous Gwen Butler. Yes, this is the same Gwen Butler who got the 2 million dollar tip and sunk it into an ill-fated restaurant that never took off (she was royally screwed by trusted friends). Yes, this the same Gwen Butler who went to Eastern Standard, quarreled with the management, and exposed it all on a famous Boston restaurant blog. Gwen is a trip and a half, but she really is a fantastic person. I love Gwen to death and always have. She was one of the best managers that I've ever worked for. More than any boss in my career, she knew when not to sweat the small stuff; her first concern was for the customer's experience. I didn't mean to get off on a tangent there, but Gwen was the original manager of Bar 10 back in '99. It was a marvelous opportunity for Gwen, for the Westin, and for those of us who were lucky enough to work for her. In those days the bar was sleek and sexy, having replaced the old shitty 10 Huntington horseshoe. It really exemplified the lounge vibe that was going through major cities at the time (and that formula is somewhat played out by this point...ooh, look, a red velvet banquette and deep house music. This place is like so sex-ay. *yawn*) The food was always good and still is. The service was always good and still is. However, these are the only good carryovers from the old chaotic opening days. The furniture is still the same and shows its age, despite having been repaired and reconditioned many times. The new extension is a welcome relief to those who'd have to wait for a table for ages, but the atmosphere is just as others have described: it's trying so hard to be sexy and chic while entertaining Chemical Club reps from the Midwest or dentist conferences. There are still an appropriate number of poofy Boston lounge people, but they're getting a bit long in the tooth while sipping on their overpriced martinis. In short, Bar 10 never became what it was meant to be. It could have been a real powerhouse in the Boston scene, but Gwen was reduced to figurehead status by Frank Caliguire, then manager of the Westin and she left in disgust. Working there was exciting because we were all part of something new and different. Sadly, it fell flat and never recovered. Today's Bar 10 is good and is still run by people dedicated to making sure that the guest has a good experience, but when I go there, I'm just sad about the old days. (My favorite memory, by the way, is of hosting the day that Julia Child came in to eat. She was just lovely.) As for Gwen, I hope that she's having better luck in New York.

Nice, comfortable, high-quality food and wine. Not really pretentious. Kind, professional and prompt service. Everything you want and need after a long day at the office, or a relaxing stop after a conference. I had the Zen of Zin zinfandel and a turkey sandwich. Totally fab. I'll be back again, and hopefully back to Yelp to add that last star! Cheers! :)

The atmosphere is definitely lounge-y in this nicely decorated bar. We got a nice corner area with a cushy set to lounge in for a while. Beers and Cocktails a little on the pricey side, but my Strawberry Fields Martini was delicious. We also got to try some food. The crab and asparagus flatbread was just OK. Lots of crab actually, but just pretty bland. I ended up dunking it into our artichoke and spinach dip, which was actually quite good. The dip itself was delicious, and came with a variety of starches for dunking. If I were to return I'd get that dip again for sure.

Its a hotel bar. Oh, they may try and pretend that they are a hip, happen, boston-cool kinda place....but this is a hotel bar. Thank God 90% of the patrons wear "Hi, My Name Is Bob" nametags (from whatever dental conference they're in town for at the time), because otherwise you'd never hear their names over the thump-thump-thump jukebox music. WHAT??! I'M SORRY! WHAT? WHAT DID YOU SAY?

  • Danielle R.

Service is the primary reason for the low rating. Food was quite good, but took an incredibly long time for our order to be taken, drinks to be served, and food to be served. One can only surmise that perhaps they were sourcing REALLY fresh products; in fact, sourced as we waited. Our lunch orders were really very straightforward and we dined after the main lunch rush, so really no other notion why we would have had to wait as long as we did. Bar service in the evening is very brusque; if you dare to order something particular or bar food, you will be relegated to another section of the bar so the bartender doesn't have to hassle with you.

Ohh bar 10. This place is suave, dark, and chic . It's located in the Westin Copley hotel, so the convenience is fantastic. I often paid visits to this place after late night events at the Boston Public Library. The food is great, esp. the Arugula goat cheese flatbread pizza. This place was the first hotel bar/lounge that I visited when I moved to boston and certainly has remained on my radar. The service is ok, nothing stellar. The drinks are strong and the patrons are an interesting mix of tourists staying at the hotel and boston bar goers looking for a place to kick back, relax, and indulge in quality cocktails.

Went here for an event last Saturday night. Spent 15 minutes at the bar standing right in front of the bartender. After being ignored while he served everyone around my friend and I we decided to take our cash money to a bar in Allston, the place where everyone knows your name. I was grumbling about the poor service until I had a drink and a shot. Then a drink and a shot. All of which probably cost less than two drinks at a crappy "high-end" bar.

I love love love Bar 10. Its never too busy and always an interesting crowd. Great booths/tables. Its very comfortable. I am in love with their Toscana Pizza - flat bread pizza with arugula on top. I also love that they give you honey mustard pretzels with your beverage of choice. Speaking of which - Orange Ice, Green Monster and Platinum Martinis are a must while at Bar 10.

Laidback. Likeable but not lovable. I came here during the week with a few coworkers and thought Bar 10 was pretty laidback and chill. The drinks and food are both fairly above average and the prices are well, Boston. One can tell that Bar 10 is aiming at sophistication and chic, but the oddish, almost retro looking ceiling lights rub me the wrong way. Bar 10 is a good place to dwell in anonymity with a good companion and drink in hand. I haven't quite decided if I like it or not but Bar 10 has a rather subdued sort of character that can easily be taken to be bland. It's not really the sort of place that particularly appeals to me because of the hotel-y feel it had to it, but I can imagine it as a good place to go for a quiet evening out.

I'm a little biased because this place is not my style, but my friend took me here on a low-key Thursday night. It was dimly lit and has a red glow because the sconces (wow that's the plural for sconce?) were reflecting off the red walls. It wasn't packed, but most of the tables were filled with professional-looking people. A guy at the table next to ours drunkenly knocked his martini glass over and broke it, but no one made a fuss or cheered. The waiter just walked by and cleaned it up. The music wasn't too loud, nor did it merit comment aside from the volume. We ordered a mixed drink with Stohli ($8) and a pomegranate martini ($13), both of which were excellent, strong, and well-mixed. They set out a little ashtray-sized bowl of mixed nuts as well. I liked that. It was nice, if you like being bored.

Definitely an all time favorite place of mine... Something about the atmosphere is very attractive. Good cocktails and great food too. They also just completed a very large expansion of its size a number of months ago, hopefully making it easier to get a table on the busier nights.

1st time to Bar 10. Can't speak for the mixed drinks - I had wine. Service at the bar was prompt & friendly. Calamari was yummy and a good portion for 2 hungry girls. We appreciated the mustard pretzel munchies (though a refill would have been nice - they definitely made me have that additional glass of wine). I'm a fan...

After a delicious dinner at KO Prime, we decided to head to Bar10 for some drinks. When we walked in, there was no one greeting us, or to show us around the bar area, and we were a little confused as to whether the tables were free or not. After we ordered drinks at the bar, the bartender informed us that it was free seating. we managed to find a table even though it was a Saturday night. Then the nightmare began. My friend wanted to order an additional drink, but the waitress couldnt have seemed more aloof. she walked by us on SEVERAL occasions and simply refused to acknowledge us. It wasnt until another friend of ours had arrived before she came over and lazily took our order. One of my friends had ordered the Strawberry lemonade, and when it arrived, she informed the waitress that it tasted a bit too strong and probably wasnt what she ordered. The waitress angrily told us that it was indeed and lemondrop martini. Right. We have rarely felt the need to complain to the manager, but our experience, or lack of a good experience at Bar10 forced us to complain to the manager. Thankfully, he was understanding, otherwise Bar10 would get an even lower rating from me.

i cant really complain about this place. good service - the food is average abut its still nice and diverse. not many places around that are like bar 10 around boston - big enough to not get over crowded but small enough to still be cozy - ill keep going there and keep telling the married women i am not interested

Bar 10 is located on the second floor of the Westin Hotel so you will need to either take the escalator or elevator to it. You can not find it from the street and you definitely may need to ask someone to get their. It consists of a nice large bar with about 15 stools and high table seating adjacent to it; very comfortable couch and lounge type seating in the remaining space. Atmosphere is contemporary modern in shades of browns; nice mix of dimmed lights and lamps. The food menu is limited to flat bread pizzas, sandwiches, salads and some desserts all of which are better quality than most neighborhood bars and most hotel lounge bars. The mix of people are hotel guest, tourist, business types, all late twenties to late forty. Definitely not a college hang out. Great for conversation and relaxing. The cocktail and bar staff are uniformed in black and are all professional. A full wine list, martini list and four beers on tap as well as bottles. Parking is available though the hotel or if you are shopping at Copley Place just walk over though the connecting bridge.

Finally got a chance to try the cocktails. Strawberry fields is by far my favorite! Bartenders are very warm and engaging. Not just with me, but with everyone around. Not your typical hotel bar, certainly a free standing spot!

Pretty much everyone has said it. Just wanted to detail further on a few things. People: 2 kinds - wedding crashers and after work drinkers who average late 20's late 30's. Music: Great lounge (deep house, house, easy listening underground) Place: Excellent location, in the Westin hotel @ Copley Place. Price: Random Boston prices. $15 for a Martini, $7 for a rum and coke

We pregamed it here for my buddy's bachelor party - before it went terribly wrong. It's a cool atmosphere, very hotel lounge, but classy, not Vegas glitz (this is the rich heartland of 19th Century nouveaux riches Boston, folks). We drank Grey Goose and sodas and pretended to be sophisticated - it was a RESERVOIR DOGS theme, need I say more? As Klaus from AMERICAN DAD says, "it's fun to play dress up sometimes." There were plenty of cougars and milfs circling the bar, looking for hunks of young meat - I thought my buddy was going to get some strange (not the groom) and that's why we call him Handsome Heathrob Rob. This is MILF central, guys. Needless Markup and Sucks Fifth Avenue are within spitting distance - lots of lonely women looking to spend their husbands money and indulge their wicked taste for...you get the picture, ya freaks!

One of the more stylishly decorated bars in town. The chillout/trance music sets the mood in this bar full of dark wood accents and scarlett upholstery that is often full of convention goers who are staying at the Westin Copley. The menu has been reduced in scope in the past year or so... food is tasty, but don't come here for the food, instead you should try the creative martinis. The bartenders here are great especially Joe.

Not what you'd think of for a hotel bar. Great atmosphere and can typically get a couch area for your group to sit at. The service can be somewhat slow at times, but drinks are well made. They give you honey mustard pretzel bites too. Have only had dessert here - all are on the smaller size.

Had a great time at Bar 10 the other week. Went there with a friend, we ended up wasted. Ordered up a storm, DELICIOUS beef carpaccio, lightly battered calamari and tuna which I scarffed down with some cocktails. Music was hot, service was great, ended up a fantastic night!

The Bar is ok, nothing too special, it's entrance is right by the lobby so it really feels like you're in the hotel lobby. The interior design is nice, very cigar bar. Very cliche but the Boston Creme Pie was amazing.

I have been at least 5 times in the last few years, always a good experience. I recently went with a friend on Sunday afternoon for lunch and have a couple drinks. Walking in around noon: Pretty much empty but sat at the bar to talk and watch some tv. I ordered Makers Mark on the rocks and my friend ordered Kettle One gimlet up, both at about $12. Nice atmosphere and a fun, friendly bartender but not annoying at all. The bar is very clean and the burgers were rated top 20 by The Boston Globe in Boston. Right up there w/ the Bristol Lounge {Four Seasons Hotel}. Time to eat... Menu: The menu is pretty simple with burgers, salads, fried calamari, lobster rolls ect. I ordered the Crab BLT {$18} & she ordered the Bar 10 burger {$16} pictures included by me. The crab was real good and fresh however for 18 bucks it needed a bit more crabmeat in there. The fries were perfect as usual and my friends burger was perfectly cooked at "medium" so she was beyond happy. At the end with 2 drinks a piece and two sandwiches it was $88. plus my $20 tip, not bad for a few hours of nice A.C from the heat, a restaurant/bar all to ourselves and a few laughs. I will go again... The bathrooms are very nice and clean, music isn't loud at all and 2 big flat screen TV's on either side of the bar. Try it, I think you will like it there! The Mötley Cook

Food and drinks were good, but priced on the high side for the quality and quantity... One of my colleagues ordered the same burger I did for dinner; hers arrived with crispy onions, mine did not. I ordered my burger bloody and it was pink, but not juicy. Service was slow. The waitress was civil, but not enthusiastic. Details like that keep Bar 10 from delivering a stand-out dining experience. The seasonal Manhattan was nicely done. I would return for drinks, but probably not dine here again.

Located in the Lobby of the Westin Copley Place (The Hotel I was staying at) is Bar 10, a place that's part Bar and part Ultralounge. A place where you can watch some Football and enjoy a good Drink. I decided to have my Late Night Bite here cuz I didn't want to walk anywhere and it was just 14 Floors below my room. While I was deciding on what to get, I got myself a Cocktail called Chamomile Collins (Absolute Vodka, Club Soda, Chamomile Simple Syrup and Lemon, it was a very relaxing Drink). Not a lot of things on the Menu interested me (I want food that's interesting, Intriguing and that Excites me), but one thing that I found that I wanted to try was the Poutine (a Canadian Snack/Junk Food consisting of French Fries, Fresh Cheese Curds and lots of Gravy). While I was waiting for the dish to come out I kept thinking of a Pile of Fries with Big Square Chunks of Cheese completely drowned in a moat of Gravy, I was wrong. It came out (perfect sized portion) with a Beef Demi-Glace and an Aged Sharp Cheddar Cheese Sauce (every single Fry was coated perfectly with both of these Sauces). Perfectly crisp Fries with this beefy flavor from the Demi-Glace and this sharp Cheddar Taste. One way of Poutine it was that it was so damn Good. I was also talking with this Husband/Wife Couple who flew in from San Diego, They kept me company the whole time, engaging in a Friendly conversation. I finished up by ordering a Creme Brulee (I just got something simple and what could be more simple than Sweet, Rich, Creamy custard topped with a Sugary Crust). I loved the food and the Atmosphere, its also a nice place to get a Beer. Next time I'll order twice the Amount of Poutine.

The food is good. Not fab, but good. The wait staff is very slow! Plan to linger over your drink, cause they wont notice when your glass is empty. You need to get the attention of the wait staff or expect to sit unattended.

I really like this place. If you want to chill, this is a great spot. Right in the center of Boston at Copley....stop and have a great drink. The snacks are fine, but nothing to rush there for. Really relaxing and I have met several friends here...they all agree that this was a great place to meet. If you are in the area...try it!

a nice place to unwind after work or after a night out when you need a snack and a nightcap. that being said, i'm not usually a fan of hotel bars, but bar 10 works for me. its lounge-y, chic feel takes away from the fact that its a hotel bar. the drinks are great, the music works for the space, the menu is surprisingly good (i had a pizza), and its true that there are more locals that hotel guests here.

Good spot to grab a drink and an appetizer. The place is a little expensive however it is a great hang out spot. They also feature house made pineapple infused vodka which in a drink is probably good, however, on the rocks is even better. We got the artichoke dip which came with red pepper hummus as well as the orange BBQ wings. The food was good, but not the best I have had. The dip was very cheesey but the artichokes were a little undercooked and crunchy. The wings had a good flavor, but a lot of sauce and the meat wasn't exactly falling off the bone. Again, good, but not great. I would recommend a stop by but probably not for a full dinner.

Great ambiance - always nice as a mid-week place to break up a hectic work week over a nice glass of wine/martini or whatever you fancy. Very cozy, good soft house music in the background. Not so great for weekends as it gets very crowded and loud. Be sure to try the platinum martini - it's quite amazing. Also, this is a great place for people watching. The crowd is quite diverse in age, background and what not. Highly recommended.

I went to Bar 10 for the first time on a first date and it was great (date was pretty good too)! Loved the decor, super comfy seats (which were perfect for putting me at ease on a first date), fabulous service, mid range prices and good food. Made it easy for us to focus on talking/listening to one another rather than focusing on bad service or overpriced, lousy food.

Solid neighborhood staple. Can get busy at dinner time, so plan ahead. Recently went through some major changes, taking some steps towards a higher end gastro pub. A new chef took over and brought all new food and drink menus to the table. Everything is scratch made with high quality fresh ingredients, and the food reflects that attention.
