Came into Bangkok Blue with expectations of standard, maybe mediocre Thai food. The inside looks like your standard, unpretentious Thai restaurant, with ill fitting wall decor and no frills seating. Shame on me for reading this book by the cover. Our food - an order of pad thai, yellow curry, and tofu fried rice - was out in a jiffy and steaming hot. And the flavor was out of this world. I had plate envy as I stared longingly at my sister's pad thai, but my yellow curry was also fabulous. Coming back soon!

I had the Pad Thai with shrimp. They have this cool combo deal where you can get half an appetizer for $2.50 with the purchase of an entree so I did that & got the crab rangoons. I also ordered the tea latte. Noodles were good, just a little on the sweet side. But I was able to fill up on half of the plate. Shrimp was a tad big overcooked but I love shrimp so it would take a lot for me not to eat them. Crab rangoons were super greasy, thin & crispy. I'm used to the ones I ate at New China Express in Chicago where the dough is thicker and can allow for more filling. These also were not as creamy on the inside as I'm used to. The tea was too sweet to me. I asked the waitress to dilute it, which she was able to do. But the heavy cream was turning me off. I can't give this place a bad review just off of personal preferences, and it wasn't a bad experience at all! I will definitely go back, after researching the entrees more. Great customer service.

Stopped by while visiting BOS when looking for something a little different. Oddly enough, the bartender across the street did not mention this place when I asked for Thai recommendations. But we walked by and saw it and went in. Wifey had the Penang Curry and she said it was excellent. She always gets that at every Thai restaurant so it must have been pretty good. I had the Drunken Noodle and it was also pretty good. For the (excellent) location I thought the prices were decent for a sit down restaurant. Everywhere else around here can be expensive. I thought the service was pretty typical for a Thai place, as was the atmosphere. The place is thin so I am not sure about large groups, but other reviewers didn't seem to have an issue with that. Overall I would recommend this place for Thai in Boston at a reasonable price in Back Bay. The main reason for only 3 stars was that I found a hair in my food. Of course, this happens - I didn't ask for my money back, or make a big stink about it, I just mentioned it to the manager after I paid because I think its an honest mistake. Other than that, it was good thai food!

My girlfriend and I ordered drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice. Not only are the prices reasonable, but the wait staff is really friendly and the food is delicious! The fried rice had lots of tasty ingredients in it and the noodles were really balanced in flavor and texture. Would definitely eat again!

If you are looking for authentic Thai food, this is the place! Definitely try the beef salad and the sliced apple, chicken, and shrimp salad. The basil chicken was also very good. The service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. Definitely will go back.

Huge portions. Got the appetizer sampler, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken and shrimp, thai fried rice and chicken with basil sauce. All were amazing and moderately priced. Huge portions.

We were in town on a Saturday around the Hynes Auditorium area, so we headed over the Bangkok Blue, located just across the street from the Boston Public Library Boylston Street entrance. Their lunch menu is available daily till 4pm. We opted to share two dishes, the Pad Thai $8.25 (also available with tofu or vegetable, or the crispy variation for $8.50) and Tamarind Duck (boneless roasted duck topped with shredded ginger, mushrooms, pineapple, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and scallions in tamarind sauce) $9.45. The duck was the larger disappointment visually as the few pieces of duck were tossed in among the vegetables, rather than laid out on top with its crispy skinned glory, while the pad thai was deemed overly sour by my DC. Neither would have me rushing back in the near feature as there are many other spots to try in the area. Their Thai Iced Tea, however, was given the thumbs up by my luncheon companion as a tasty not overly sweet variation. Bangkok Blue is a long narrow space with patio seating out front. They have a single unisex handicap accessible bathroom out back, with two locks, both of which need to be used for successful lockage per their signs.

Decent...would have never known this was here. Not fancy at all for being on Boylston st. We made a reservation for 12 but they weren't expecting us, they just put some tables together as it wasn't even busy on a Saturday night. Therefore it was quiet and we could actually hear each other talk. Food was typical, good but nothing spectacular. Prices were reasonable.

I have a very special connection to this restaurant. It's like a third place to me that I can easily immerse myself into its warming environment (fresh flowers, dim lights, cozy space...). Every time I visit Bangkok Blue I am able to fully enjoy myself with a good meal. I've tried their fried rice, chicken curry dish, gaprow and some wonderful appetizers that I couldn't name of:p The food was good in general (I would give 8/10). What I value the most about this restaurant is its nice and serene atmosphere. I always feel very peaceful and calm dinning there:-)

Came here for dinner on a weeknight. It was a nice night so we sat outside. We had the golden tofu, Penang curry with shrimp, and Tom Yum soup. The flavors are good, although certainly not the best I've had. The curry was nice and spicy, not bland or underseasoned. My only real complaint is that the shrimp was overcooked. It was a bit rubbery and shriveled, probably just from cooking too long. And, the golden tofu was cut too thick for my taste. I like them a little crispier and thinner, but recognize that some people might prefer the thicker pieces.

We were famished after shopping and decided to try this place. Plus - huge portions. Great location. Cons - server was hinting or promoting to make us order more; pad sew was just low quality rice noodles (trust me on noodle quality) doused in dark sweet sauce. Crispy pad thai was very mediocre where the corn starch gravy was forgettable and lacked identity. I guess it made enough impression for me to make this review. Their siew mai appetizer was expensive (4 pieces) and extremely poor quality. Only eat here when convenient.

I placed a large take out order for an office lunch yesterday. Everything was ready at the time I needed to pick up, so that was great. However, they did forget a thai iced tea that was in the order. They had called my office # to let me know , but I wasn't going to walk the 5 min back to go get a drink. I ordered the Tom Yom soup and the house salad. From the description, I thought the soup would be similar to a Chinese hot and sour soup. The menu indicated it was spicy, but it was more sour than spicy, which I did not like, so I didn't eat much of it. The salad was good, but tiny. There were maybe 3 or 4 tiny shreds of chicken in it. The crushed peanut sweet/sour dressing was really good. I was still hungry after eating this measly lunch. All of the traditional Thai dishes (pad thai) looked great and all of my co workers seemed to enjoy it. Not in a rush to go back.

I am sitting here after having returned the seafood hot pot to the kitchen. I NEVER do that. It had unchewable calamari, bad shrimp, almost no broth, brown nondescript fish and just tasted plain awful. Plus the advertised salmon and mussels were nowhere to be found. I asked for pad Thai instead figuring that would likely be edible at least. Waitress returned to say her boss said if I wanted pad Thai I still had to pay the hot pot price , considerably more expensive. I said fine bc I didn't want to further mess up my meal. It arrived and she announced the cook gave me extra shrimp. I tasted one and I bet it came from the yucky hot pot. I didn't eat any more. The pad Thai was edible. Never returning.

Service was good. Window seating was spectacular at night. Recommend: look at specials! Also duck macadamia and koong karee delish!

My friend and I thought the pineapple fried rice was good so was the crispy pad Thai. It's not the most amazing but pretty good that i approve. I do have to say though, I wish there was more noodles in the pad Thai. The fried shumai wasn't that awesome, but maybe it because I know what the real thing tastes like. My Riesling was good. The waitstaff is very nice. Clean restaurant and good atmosphere.

Decent prices for its location (I expected it to be much more expensive). Got a few lunch specials and they all pleased, but my friend thought one of his dishes were a bit bland (pad seew?}. I'd recommend all Thai food fans give it a try.

Back in the 1990s, Bangkok Blue was my go-to spot for Thai food. Today? Not so much. I ordered back in March the Pad See You with chicken, and it had no flavor. All I could taste was grease and little else. The crab rangoon I ordered as an appetizer wasn't much better; it was lukewarm and not very appealing. Maybe they changed management since the 1990s or they stopped caring, but Bangkok Blue seems reduced to a shadow of its former self. They were once great for their use of fresh ingredients and tasty dishes (the Seafood Pik Pow was my favorite), but I didn't have the same experience during this recent visit. It's a shame, because if nothing else, the service is still friendly. Too bad the food isn't what it used to be.

I have only been here once so after repeated visits the rating could go up or down. I was here last weekend after a yoga workshop and man was I hungry! I decided to try the Drunken Noodles because I've never had them before but I hear people raving about them. Well, I was glad that I did. The veggies were not overcooked and the meat was plentiful (I got beef). The sauce was not too salty so I am guessing MSG is not in that dish. I also ordered Thai Iced Tea, which was sweet and did not have too much ice in it. The service was fast and friendly and their bathroom was quite clean. I sat outside but the inside was cozy without being cramped. I will definitely come back and try something different. For now, I am a fan!

Unfortunately this was the worst Thai food I've ever had. We were the only ones in the restaurant the whole time we were there. Our food was salty and greasy, and that was the only flavor. I'm pretty easy to please generally, and will chow down on some unhealthy food, but this was so bad I don't want to eat the leftovers. Pad thai had no tamarind, lime, or any other flavors--just a sloppy, mushy mess. Oh no. :(

A decent Thai place though I'm a much bigger fan of the ones in South End. This is the place when you are hungry after a shopping day around Back Bay. At least if you order something you typically order in a Thai place this place won't surprise you or disappoint you too much. Outstanding dishes? Nah.

I love this place! My girlfriend and I come here almost once a week because their Pad Thai is great and the people are so friendly and sweet. It's never too busy which typically means a quieter atmosphere. I would note that the Charlesmark Hotel next door also serves Thai food which is actually cooked by the chefs at Bangkok Blue.

I had the pad see ew and it was delicious. I love really spicy food and they made it extra spicy for me. I also had the fresh rolls with spring and they were just average. I would come back again for the pad see ew. Friendly service too.

3 star food, then 4 star service (one of the ladies congratulated my family on our success since I just moved to the city for graduate school - so sweet a gesture!). Bangkok Blue Thai is in a really prime location on Boylston across from the Boston Public Library. It's a clean, bright spot with plenty of both outdoor and indoor seating. It didn't seem too busy at a weekday lunch hour with a few people on the patio and one or two small parties inside. GARLIC CHICKEN AND SHRIMP: I imagined this garlicky, flavorful dish, but it was actually really plainly cooked. Still very serviceable, though however with only one or two pieces of shrimp. CASHEW NUTS CHICKEN: It was nearly identical in taste to the garlic chicken and shrimp dish because they use a similar sauce and exact same chicken pieces. You do get cashews, pineapple, and a few other different vegetables. Otherwise, seasoning is the same, and again, it's just a serviceable dish. SOFT SHELL CRABS WITH BASIL SAUCE: my favorite thing about Thai food is fresh basil, so I was excited for this combo dish. Oh, how it fell flat. The crab was more tough than soft. There is a bit of a kick to the sauce, so the mild heat surprised me. Most of my rice became soggy quickly from that sauce too. I only finished half the meal, and the rest didn't serve well to take home as leftovers. THAI TEA: none too sweet and very refreshing on a summer afternoon! Very large portion. Can't say I'll be back anytime soon, but it was a fair enough meal. There is a lunch special menu, which is much more reasonably priced than the dinner menu (it practically doubles all the prices!).

There was nothing about this place that will make me return to it again. FOOD: OK, a bit bland & forgettable. They admitted to using frozen shrimp. SERVICE: The servers were patient with us, but seemed to have a bit of a language barrier. The service was VERY SLOW as well... I had to re-order my glass of wine 3 times. ATMOSPHERE: Outdoor dining available in Summer. THE DEAL: This restaurant is good for large parties, and you might have it to yourself. We went here after the Charlesmark Martini Party, right next door, with a party of 12 at 8:00... and it was as if we'd rented out a private place!

I stopped by Bangkok Blue for take out lunch today. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. I think I waited five minutes tops. I ordered the Pad Thai. The portion size was enough for two people(in my opinion). There was plenty of chicken in the meal but only three pieces of shrimp. I rather like shrimp so when I get a pad thai dish I look forward to shrimp...usally more than three. The taste was a bit on the sour side. If I didn't know any better I might say it was vinegary. I can't think of a better way to describe it. I doubt I will go back for pad thai from this restaurant. The King and I is still number one on my list for Pad Thai in Massachusetts. Had I been closer to Beacon Hill I would have gone there instead.

Ick! This was the worst Thai I've ever had. Rice was inedible and the chicken was dry and stringy, vegetables were tasteless. What a disappointment. So shocked this place is still in business.

  • Lindsay E.

I went once and got drunken noodles that weren't bad, but were so overly oily that they upset my stomach. I decided to give them another try with a coworker friend for lunch and it was definitely the worst Thai food I have ever had in the city. We had a Restaurant.com certificate that they refused to honor. We decided to eat there anyways since the prices were reasonable. I got a lunch combo with spring rolls and a seafood pho. the spring rolls were all dough with barely any filling and flavorless. The soup had no flavor and all of the seafood appeared freezer-burnt. I did not think it was possible to have flavorless Thai food since the cuisine is so well spiced and flavored. I will never be back.

Unfortunately I can't give this place any more than two stars. I love Thai food and this was quite a disappointment The service was unfriendly and very slow. The Veggie Pad Thai that I ordered was pretty bland. The portion size was very good for the price but I'd rather pay a bit more for tastier food. Overall I wouldn't return here.

This place was terrible. Ate here randomly while walking around Copley place on a weekday. The Tom Yum soup tasted like it was from a box. The stir fry tastes bland as well. Service wasn't great either. I usually tip generously but this place didn't deserve it so I gave 15% instead of my usual 20% and I was stopped by the staff at the door requesting for more money for their tip. I never write bad reviews and I don't usually like to but seriously ?! Not sure if this is a Boston thing but I found this extremely rude.

I came with a big group and everyone was happy with their food. I had the chicken with broccoli in ginger sauce and it was delicious. Other favorites in my group were the mango chicken and the chicken with peanut sauce. The service was very friendly, although the ambiance leaves a little something to be desired. If I lived in this neighborhood, this would be a weeknight staple.

I really dig this place. Coming from the theater district I have tried a LOT of asian cuisine. I first tried them while I was at Charlesmark Hotel, as they serve Bangkok. Was craving Thai food so I decided to order directly this time. Delivery was pretty quick. Very surprised by bad reviews on here as I thought this was one of the better Thai spots in the area. I will admit I have not tried the curry, and that is the real test. Love the satay, fresh roll, and curry puffs. Only quip is the portions are a bit small, but the prices are fair.

Hrm. Came here for lunch. It was pretty good. A bunch of us shared a variety of items so there's that. It wasn't busy when I was here and yet service was slow. Note: There's a hotel bar next door that also serves Thai food. They share a kitchen with Bangkok Blue but the prices are double. If you're staying next door, come here for your Thai.

First time at Bangkok Blue. It was HOT in the restaurant--like no A/C (gross), hostess not very friendly or welcoming at all, they charge for condiments (ours came halfway through the meal after asking for them three times. I asked if they really do charge for condiments especially when we got them halfway through the meal; waitress had those charges removed. In addition, they were not that tasty otherwise I could have said nothing. Our Pad Thai had two shrimp and four small pieces of chicken. We asked for lime wedges for our Pad Thai and they said they didn't have any. Our waitress was nice and was the only staff member that smiled. The spice in the yellow curry was like a 7 out of 10. I think I'll stay with Thai Basil on Newbury Street!

    (1)
  • Jonathan N.

Foods are just average. Services is ok. I love the location thought. In the summer I like to sit outside the patio and have lunch in front of the public library and people watching.

Decent environment, Great for lunch and afternoon tea. Strong recommend the Thai ice tea.

  • Rona H.

I came in here today (Sunday) at around 4. It was completely empty, so I didn't feel rushed at all since no one was leering at me or anything waiting for a table. So that issue is off the table... I ordered the yellow curry, and it was really delicious for $17 total with tip. I could complain about being able to get a better value elsewhere, but you pay for the location, and it's really neat for an Asian restaurant (let's be honest here!). The service was fine too; I can't complain.

The room is a Solarium, warm and bright and they have great outdoor seating if you don't mind car traffic. The food is middle of the road. The standard noodle dishes: Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles are just not up to par. The Tom Yum soup is slightly better than average. I find the curries too Americanized, indeed spicy heat is dumbed down on most dishes. If your find yourself in Copley Square it's an acceptable choice. I have has warm and friendly service here but the last server I had acted like I owed her money. * as others have mentioned there are 2 better Thai paces nearby. * lunch is a safe bet * parking is difficult

Reliably good Thai food. Slightly more expensive than Thai Basil down the road on Newbury Street, however I think produces a better product. -- Must try: tropical fried rice.

Location: Awesome Service: Really Good Food: Good I have been to lot of thai place, their food was good, not out of the world though.. We had thai curry and noodles. Quantity was really good, we could not finish our dishes, we had to have it to go.. If I am around back bay, I would go there again..

This place is more like 2.5 stars but sadly, Yelp doesn't offer this option. But I'm feeling nice so I rounded up. The best part about this restaurant is the location. Other than that, everything falls under the description "mediocre." The service was alright, the food was okay, the décor is nice. But this place just didn't wow me. I feel like it has a lot of potential so I'll probably give it another shot soon but for now, this place is on the back burner.

    (3)
  • Kevin W.

Good location right off the Green "T" but I've definitely had better Thai food. The chicken Tom yum soup and "Angel" chili wings were very good starters, but the "lemon grass" chicken I ordered had hardly any flavor and absolutely NO lemon grass. I love lemon grass on everything even my cereal so I know if there is lemon grass or not. I would give this place 2.5 stars because I have had better thai food, but the staff was nice, the location and ambiance of the restaurant was very nice, similar to the boutiques around Copley Square.

Headed in for dinner Thursday night, at around 7:00. Good things: The place was pretty empty so there was no wait time, the waitress was kind and funny as opposed to the usual (hate my life but lets get this ish over with so I can get my tip, type of serving) The restaurant was clean and orderly and the wait time on the food was really short and it came out piping hot. I ordered the Noodles Seaworld for 10.95 My friend ordered the Pad See You for 9.95. Incredibly cheap but good food. The Seaworld was definitely well made as well as being very tasty. Only problem: Place has one shared bathroom that means a foreseeable wait for the bathroom at times.

Not impressed with my lunch, but i did get the pad thai, so not really thai food. It was too salty and the noodles were dried out. If I go back I'll probably try the curry dishes. I'd be willing to try other menu items here.

The pad thai was honestly one of the best that I've had in Boston. Great flavor and texture - it was simply delectable! My boyfriend had a pineapple chicken dish, and he thought it was very good. The pineapples add a nice sweet taste to compliment the chicken and cashews. Overall, a good experience - would definitely go there again.

This restaurant has made a pattern of offering coupons and then not honoring them. I had a restaurant.com coupon that they did not take. They told me that they were no longer accepting them, although they were still selling them that day. On a separate occasion, I came in with a LevelUp discount. When I picked up my food, they told me that LevelUp was cheating them and that they were no longer honoring LevelUp, although they were still on the site that day. I spoke to the manager both times. She offered me a small discount, but would not give me a discount that was equal in size to my coupon. I don't think I will be coming here again. As for the food, it tastes like every other Thai restaurant in Boston. The only thing that makes this place somewhat special is that it has slightly lower prices than the Thai place next door. The menu contains all the classic dishes: pad thai, curry, satay chicken, and a bunch of Thai soups. Nothing to write home about.

I get that Thai food in Boston isn't going to compare to Thai food in California and I really want to support these local places, but this one needs to revamp their menu or shut the doors. The food is really bland and they obviously aren't using fresh ingredients or traditional sauces used in Thai cooking. I would even argue that the prices are too high for the quality of food. The service is meager, I don't care about that, but if you have a complaint about their food the servers are passive. It's a Thai spot on Boylston, so I assume they rely heavily on toursts to keep the business running. This place gives Thai food a really bad name.

Bangkok Blue is bad. Plain and simple. We went there tonight and ordered relatively simple standard Thai dishes: shumai, chicken and cashews, beef and peppers. The shumai looked beautiful - golden and delicious - but the texture was rubbery. The chicken and cashews (which featured, I swear, four cashew nuts) was flavorless, and sitting in a bland watery sauce. My companion's beef with peppers came with (literally) two pieces of red pepper, and was equally flavorless. The truth is we are spoiled with Thai restaurants. There are thousands of places that dish out good Thai grub all over this city, so please, do yourself a favor and go to one of those restaurants.

This place is pretty good in terms of the food that you get, though they have outdoor seating with a view of Copley square and the finish line of the Boston Marathon, after today I would highly suggest take out. The dishes are good from the pad see you to the plentiful curry dishes, you will get good food here. The prices are really good too, and they are currently doing a free spring roll and dumpling with the order of a lunch entree. I recommend highly though getting take out. My friend was burned by her mango curry sauce, coming in at a high angle, the waiter did not apologize until I approached him a little later regarding the situation. The incident was corrected by two napkins and an insincere apology, guess what, guy with glasses, apology not accepted. From now on I know to wear a heat resistant suit if I want to eat in your section. Thank you for a probably ruined dress and a burnt thigh. Normally I would say things happen, we have never been burned before, so what better time than a cloudy day, but something tells me by the way that it was handled was that it was not the first time. The food is good and the prices are good, just be careful when dining in!

Went there for lunch at 12:30 with a colleague today. On the plus side, there was no wait, we got a seat at the window, the crab rangoon was pretty good, and we had an ample lunch (we split plates) for only $25. On the downside, the spring rolls weren't good (way more deep-fried crunchy wrapper than delicious filling), and our main courses (one with red curry & tofu and one drunken seafood dish) both could have had more flavor. Neither really stood out. Considering how many empty seats there were, I expected a bit better service. They were great at making sure we had water, but I had to find a waitress so we could cash out. A definite three-star experience. Not going to rush back anytime soon, but also won't avoid the place if others want to go. Eh.

Hi: I love Bangkok Blue. The food is very good and the staff are excellent. The servings are ample and tasty. My friends and I really enjoy our time there. I know a lot of the library staff across the street frequent this restaurant because of the quality of the food and the good value.

I thought Bangkok Blue was pretty good! I don't know why most people gave it a 2 or 3! The prices are really decent - ranging from 7 - 10 bucks for a plate. The lunch special even comes with an appetizer. I ordered the Shredded Papaya Salad Thai Style with lime dressing. It was really delicious - shredded papaya with dried shrimp, grape tomatoes, peanuts, garlic, and lettuce drenched with lime dressing. My boyfriend and his brother both ordered fried rice. - Indonesian Rice - huge portion, the fried rice had shrimp in it, and it came with 2 pieces of satay chicken and a scrumptious peanut dipping sauce. So good. - Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice - I didn't try this, but it looked really good as well. Service was really fast. Not my favorite Thai restaurant of all time, but for the price, it is really decent.

I came here for a quick bite to eat prior to the start of a conference with some of my work peeps and I thought the place was good. We ordered several apps to share and they were decent portion sizes - the dumplings were small, but there were about 10 in the order. The fresh rolls were tremendous, and though I can't eat shrimp, I hear they were tasty. I ordered the lemon mango chicken with jasmine rice, which had a small kick to it, but was quite good. The folks who ordered pad thai thought it was just okay, but those of us who ventured off the path a little found hidden gems.

  • Susan N.

Let me start off by saying I didn't order any of the Thai dishes. I saw beef rendang on the menu, an Indonesian dish, and just had to go with it. It's a pretty hard dish to mess up, I think. And while I've never been to Indonesia, I've had some pretty hardcore Indonesian food in both Amsterdam (it was good enough that I didn't forget it!) and Singapore. My standards are up there. Out of all the Indonesian dishes I've tried, the rendang is my favorite. The consistency is thick and it has chunks of meat, not slivers, if done right. Bangkok Blue's was runny. The sauce is supposed to be thick and sopped up by the rice. I ordered take out and it was so runny, it ended up on my sleeve. Also, there were veggies in there, but I actually liked that aspect. It just wasn't very authentic. On the plus side, my order came really quick. In less than 5 minutes. It left me wondering about the quality, and that was answered when I took a bite. It's not awful, just really far from authentic.

Sorry, I didn't like this place. I went for lunch on a busy Thursday and the place wasn't super crowded but wasn't empty either. I did like the spring roll but the rest of my food tasted really fishy and just all togeher off. (for those of you wondering, I did not order a fish dish but a chicken dish which is why the fishyness was weird) cool location but with so many other options in Copley Meh I've experienced better

I ordered take in from here and the food was terrible. Delivery time wasn't bad but the food was just a lump of flavorless blech... really disappointing. The food was greasy, heavy and tasteless.

meh. I've experienced better. I was talking to my wife about how you rarely experience terrible Thai food, and this is about as close as it gets to terrible. Our party had Lemongrass Chicken, Basil Tofu and Massaman Tofu Curry and all three were mediocre at best. To summarize: -triple over fried tofu -bland sauce with minimal heat -overly rich iced tea +plenty of water refills +excellent locale

Prices are a tad on the high side, but the usual go-tos for thai (drunken noodles, pad thai, etc) are what you'd be used to if you were a regular thai delivery-or-takeout person. Portion size is a bit small for the price, however, and considering this isn't any better or more elegant than the thai takeout food options, I don't see the point of spending the extra money here.

(review dated 1/08): i know it's a prime location, but that doesn't justify charging premium for average thai food. pad see yew (flat noodle w/beef) was good, but then again, i could get the same thing for half the price in few other places within the 2-mile radius. :)

Walked by and noticed their Lunch Special, any entree includes one eggroll, one pork dumpling and one vegetable dumpling. The restaurant looked nice and with a lunch special like that, why not? Figured I would try something new Conveniently located right off the green line, I walked in to try it out Service was alright, took them awhile to realize that i was there but when they did they were friendly, the ambiance here was very relaxed, very nicely set up I might add. I sat down and ordered their Lemongrass Chicken for lunch. When the food came I can honestly say that I was VERY disappointed, the eggroll and dumplings that came with lunch were so small that I thought I ordered off of the kids menu, Anybody could of easily finished off all 3 appetizers with one bite! Not only were they tiny but they really lacked in flavor as well, not a big fan. A little bit after came my LemonGrass Chicken, chicken was cooked to perfection, nice and juicy just the way I liked it cooked except it could of used more seasoning, I barely tasted any lemongrass which really made me sad. I love Thai food and their use of spices with Lemongrass being an ingredient in Thai food that I really enjoy. Overall the food was mediocre and I've definitely had better, the service and the decor was nice but it won't be like I would be coming back anytime soon

Picked up my papaya salad and what a disappointment. 7 bucks for a large box that is not even 1/3 full of papaya that is drench in dressing with maybe less than 10 baby dinky shrimp. I poured out close to a cup of dressing. This is suppose to be a salad not a soup.

Note: review is for lunch only. Flavors of the food were a bit bland. My dish supposed to be ** (super spicy) and i ate it without feeling burn in my mouth at all. Take out was very fast, I only had to wait for about 5 minutes. The place was a bit empty for lunch. Very clean and nicely decorated for a thai restaurant. As others said, the free appetizers were pretty small, but for this price in copley area, the lunch is not too bad. Worth a try.

I am giving this place 3 stars, mainly because of the awesome service. The waitress was excellent in dealing with my friends' diets. One of the girls is vegan and the other is lactose and gluten-free. The waitress knew exactly what the dietary restrictions were and went back to check with the chefs to assure that the meals were perfect for them. The waitress was also very friendly and willing to accommodate us with any requests. One of my friends requested bread but they didnt have any, so she brought her out a glass filled with chex mix. She was also very attentive, particularly refilling our drinks. It's very rare that you see service so extraordinary. If you have dietary restrictions, its a great place to go. If only the food was as good as the service.... I started with the wanton soup, which was overflowing with scallions and essentially all I could taste, even when I picked them out. The broth itself and even the wantons just tasted like I was eating a handful of green onions. There were 3 or 4 little wantons in the bowl and the soup was lukewarm. I would recommend you steer clear of the wanton soup unless you love an overwhelming flavor of green onions. I also got the pad thai and I was very unimpressed. It had very little flavor and the shrimp tails were left on the shrimp, which always bugs me (but maybe that's just me). The shrimp and chicken were cooked okay, but every bite was fairly bland. As for the atmosphere, we decided to sit outside at the patio. Although the view of the Copley construction wasn't the best, we enjoyed eating outside on a beautiful night. There were a decent amount of tables outside and they weren't overly cluttered. I would possibly come back here for drinks because of the great service and nice atmosphere, but I probably wouldn't eat here again.

I went here for an early lunch the other day. It was relatively empty when we got in but it filled up pretty quickly afterwards. I had the pad thai and my friend had the pad see yew. The pad thai was excellent and they made it to order which was great. The pad see yew was pretty good too, better than the pad thai and that's definitely what I'm ordering next time. The best part about Bangkok blue is that it's pretty cheap considering the location (right off the Copley t station) and they serve your food pretty quickly which is great when I want to grab a quick lunch. I will definitely go back and try some more dishes off their menu.

Bangkok Blue is awful! Usually I would eat-in at Bangkok Blue. However, I began to notice clear signs of lack of management at this restaurant. The staff doesnt pay attention to service, the food gets blander and tasteless each time I go. Forgiving as I am, I decide to swtich to take-out instead. EVEN WORSE! I order the pad thai. It has nothing but two little shrimps and all noodles. You cant even find the chicken or peanuts. They cant even afford a slice of lime. The noodles are wet and tasteless, as if someone just boiled it and dumped it onto the plate and sprinkled some soy sauce on it. My 2nd time of take-out, I order the seafood drunken noodle. Again...where the hell is the seafood??? All i got was soy sauce noodles drenched in oil. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! I had to throw the order out. Ok...now Im just asking for more pain, I try take out again with them the 3rd time. The thai fried rice is tasteless. The rice is watery and the chicken is bland. There is no seasoning or spice to the fried rice. There is no cilantro or cucumbers as it states in the menu. Again, they can even afford a slice of lime. CAN A SLICE OF LIME REALLY BE THAT EXPENSIVE??? This time I am mad. I go back to the restuarant with the order and asked for my money back. They were kind enough to give my money back and offer a free dish...BUT HONESTLY....even if your food is FREE ...I WONT EAT IT. Who wants to eat digusting tasteless oily shit even if its for free! People....SPARE YOURSELF THE PAIN...Dont eat at this place! There is a Thai restaurant right around the corner. Pretty much the same menu at slightly cheaper prices. At least this other Thai restaurant will garish your plate and afford a piece of lime. Ha! BANGKOK BLUE....I AM SO DONE WITH YOU! Peace out yo!

I don't understand what's up with all the 2 stars going on here, but I really like this place. It's right around the corner from my office, and they serve up really tasty dishes at a good price, considering the prime location. The servers are always pretty friendly and make sure my water is full, even when they are busy. I can run in at lunch hour knowing that I won't have to worry about slow service. I've taken friends here for lunch as well, and they have never had any complaints. I really like the veggie soup with tofu and their yellow curry. Right now they're doing a special where they will include a small spring roll and two dumplings with your lunch, which is a nice bonus. The waitress even asked me if I was a vegetarian because I had ordered everything with tofu, just to make sure that the free appetizers wouldn't touch my food. Pretty thoughtful! I've been to Thai Basil and hated it because of the dark basement atmosphere and rude service - I would choose Bangkok Blue over Thai Basil any day.

I love Thai Food, so I definitely like to try out different places in the Boston area to try. I went last week with a friend and have a few comments regarding my rating: -Service is kinda slow, but when you are eating your entree they come by often to ask if you are done. I went to the bathroom for 2 minutes and my friend at the table said that a waitress had come over about 5 times to ask if I was done....considering the place was empty that's a bit weird -The food was OK....I got the chicken yellow curry which is my favorite dish but it was a bit different here than the usual I've had. It lacked any heat which isn't typical for the dish, it's supposed to be somewhat hot/spicy Overall, I'd rather go to Bangkok Bistro which is a 60 second walk from my apartment than trek downtown on the T for mediocre Thai food.

Although it was busy, and the wait was long...I am not impressed at all. I ordered lunch, take-out around noon time. Special comes with egg roll, pork dumpling and something else. They were such tiny things, I almost missed them. For my meal I ordered garlic chicken and shrimp with white rice. Where is the garlic and where is the spice. And why does the rice taste "wet" and bland. Its about two cups of rice and a tablespoon of 'meat and veggies'. When I looked at others meals during my wait, I noticed the small portions of food being served. I did't pay further attention until I opened my meal. In comparison to other places, this is my least fav! Soo why was it so crowded? Either people dont know good thai food or they needed a quick bite. Or maybe this is an off day for them... I heard a lot of people ordering the pad thai, so maybe I will go back and try that but not in a hurry and hopefully not out of my pocket! So im off to finish my garlic chicken and shrimp minus the garlic... :(

BB seems like a reliable Thai place. I like the outdoor seating option, found the service to be fine, and thought the food was pretty good. Have tried a variety of noodle and rice dishes here, although not the curry, and found them to be good. I'm surprised there are so many low-star reviews here... perhaps I haven't had truly great Thai food (although having spent a week in Thailand, I thought I had at least a decent impression of good Thai food).

I don't understand all the bad talk about this place really. I've tried plenty of Thai food, especially in the back bay area and this is a pretty good rendition of it. It's located conveniently on Boylston street and is a nice little place with outdoor seating and lights up at night. The servers are all friendly and helpful which is always a welcome. I love their Drunken Noodles especially because they throw in different kinds of vegetables in there and has a lot of flavor to it. Their curry dishes are pretty good as well, especially for the price point that they offer. Oh and they deliver Monday-Friday which is really nice as well! Overall, I'm satisfied with the place and definitely find myself going there whenever I crave Thai.

I eat lunch here as a change of pace from Chilli Duck and Thai Basil. The food here is decent, but the prices are also just a tad higher (entrees $7-$9), making it less of a value for what you get. The menu is also somewhere in between those two restaurants with a bit more variety than Thai Basil, but less exotic than Chilli Duck. The food is consistent and familiar, but nothing really sets it apart from the rest. The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly and prompt. They do have outdoor seating, so it's nice during the warmer months.

Ok, part of me wants to make this place lose a star because the person I was supposed to meet here never showed. To be honest, I was worried it might happen, and so I am very glad this place helped me look less like a loser. It is small and intimate, so you will know as soon as you walk in if your party is there or not. It is also a cool place for the casual observer. You have a good view of Boylston Street and the bustling traffic, as well as the fact that the tables are close together, so even if you are there alone you can enjoy many interesting conversations. As i was supposed to meet someone there, I waited a couple of minutes, but as I started to think my worries were valid and that they might not show, I asked to see a take-out menu and sat outside and studied it, while checking up and down the street for my intended date. STOOD UP!! My softly murmured swear words were lost among the bustling foot traffic. Yes, he is a jerk, but blame the man, not the venue, right? I placed a take out order and then sat patiently before returning to work and dining on my repast. Their food is decent. Their Tom Yum soups are tasty but no better than anyone else's. They have a granny smith saladwith lime, shrimp and cashews that I have never seen anywhere else and enjoyed quite a bit.

Mediocre. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The food: Small portions! I mean it's not really expensive or anything but I guess I expected more being spoiled by the deliciousness that is Dok Bua. I had the Tom Yum soup and the Green Papaya Salad. The soup did taste good but the chicken in it was a bit bland and I was put off by the big red oil globules floating around. The salad, again, was a bit small but had the redeeming value of having some tasty peanut sauce. The actual place: Boring on the inside but hey it's clean. Really though it's only worth going to in the summer because of the outdoor seating right on Boylston. Great for people watching. Overall I went here on the spur of the moment when I was out shopping. Good for some quick Thai food if you're in the area but I wouldn't specifically come here.

Today, I went here for lunch and fell in love. Their lunch menu had a TON of reasonably priced choices. I had the edamame for starters and it was THE best edamame I've ever had. No, really! If you love the taste of hard-boiled eggs dipped in a ton of salt as much as this girl, you should try it because that's exactly what they tasted like. For my entree, I had the crispy pad thai. I know, I know. That doesn't really count but it was pretty fabulous and I was happily full until about 6PM. Quick and friendly staff for lunchtime, good food, great prices, tacky decor. I'm SO going back.

ICK. I thought I'd never had a bad pad thai until I ate here. Really, the whole meal was a disaster. Thai Iced Tea: too sweet Tom Yum Soup: waaaay too hot, too many mushrooms, not enough chicken Pad Thai: noodles looked like they were albino, presentation was horrible, and the taste - wait, there was no taste. The only perk about Bangkok Blue is that you can dine there alone without feeling weird (it's attached to the Charlesmark Hotel). Even still, I would never return.

I have been here a few times and had mixed experiences. The food has usually been great but the service mediocre and lukewarm... A lot like my food the last time I ate there. My friend ordered lunch at the same time as me but hers was hot and mine was not so hot. I asked for brown rice, it appeared they gave me someone else's plate because there were traces of white rice under the brown rice. I would recommend going here if you're thirsty because your water glass stays full even though your plate might not be.

It's mediocre. I've never had to wait for a table so it's a Plan B kind of place with good prices. I went here with my boyfriend one weekend. We were sat promptly and the waitress took our order. When they brought out the plates for our appetizer, they were dirty. Dried food on both of them. So we asked for different plates and got MORE DIRTY PLATES. Are they blind? Do they not care? Is dried rice hard to see on a white plate? I don't think so considering it's like a whole grain right there on the edge. Anywho, I didn't use the plates for the app. We got the golden bags, which are very similar to samosas, aka delicious. And they were served up quick. In addition to the waitress's blindness, she was deaf. I ordered the Beef with Peanut Sauce. She didn't understand or didn't hear or something. I pointed to it on the menu and said it again. She didn't get it. So I just kept pointing and sat silently until she understood cuz what else could I do? Boyfriend ordered the Lemongrass Chicken which for some reason is so much easier to understand than Beef with Peanut Sauce. Once our dishes arrived, we realized they had the exact same ingredients, except the meat. Both dishes were good, but nothing special. They lacked that certain something that makes you think "This is why I like Thai food." It was more of a dish that made me think, "I could have made this." Go here if you want fast, relatively cheap Thai. But I gotta say S. Kiri in Allston is still way better.

I've been here four or five times and have always left happy. It isn't the best Thai in Boston, but the prices are reasonable and the location is great. Wild Boar Basil is by far my favorite dish.

Meh. And bleh. And other words that end in "eh" (Feh comes to mind). I stopped in for some red curry en route to the BPL atrium for some lunchtime reading. $8 later and I open my take out package to THIS much rice and an itty, bitty bit of curry. The dry chicken and over cooked vegetables made me sad. I paid for my laziness (didn't want to go ALL the way to Thai Basil and then back to the library). Next time - Chili Duck?

My friends and I stopped in since we were in the area, and were looking for a place to eat. I was a little worried because of the name of the place. I thought it might be more Americanized with a name like that, and less authentic Thai. The food was pretty good, not the best Thai I have had but it was doable. Everything on the table looked good enough but I think it needs more flavor. I didn't finish my curry, and asked for a box. The next day, I open my box to find that they just packaged the chicken and vegetables....I was confused.....I wish they had thrown out the chicken and vegetables because to me, the curry part is why I ordered curry. I'm a sauce girl, give me good sauce and I can mix it with my steamed rice and be perfectly happy.

Had lunch on 1/23/10, and it was a very good experience. Staff were very attentive, the food was excellent, and there was no wait for a table. I had the Kao Soy special with wanton soup (free as part of the luncheon special). My wife always gets chicken and broccoli at any Thai restaurant, and she rated her meal (including a free spring roll and two fried dumplings as an appetizer) as "very good." The total cost for the meals and two sodas was $20. We would definitely return to try other dishes--at least I would try other dishes, and my wife will still get chicken with broccoli.

10-25-10 My wife and I had lunch there yesterday . We ordered a large soup made with Lemon Grass and Pan Thai. We also ordered a Rendang curry with Chicken After we ordered they brought us each three little treats that were fried. They looked great but were not heated through. They were previously cooked and frozen but not thawed all the way through when served to us. I got the distinct feeling these were purchased in bulk from a BJ's or Costco. The soup was above average and yummy. The Rendang curry dish came served with jasmine rice. The curry sauce was very good and chicken cooked correctly. The dish was a bit small in my opinion (compared to Thai Basil on Newbury) but we enjoyed it. The place is in a nice setting, has outdoor seating and large mirrors in wooden frames on the inside. Nice setting for a date.

Strolling along Boylston Street, you come across plenty of restaurants. I happened to choose Bangkok Blue one windy October day two years ago because of its catchy blue awning and neat appearance. The interior was classy, even during the lunch service. The food itself is fairly well prepared and tasty. I'm not the biggest fan of spicy food, which is something I told our server, but my food still came out a bit too spicy for my liking. Prices are moderate, but can get a bit pricey if you don't watch how much you order. Orders are fulfilled quickly. Overall, I didn't find Bangkok Blue to be outstanding. It's very passable, and probably quite good if you're into spicy Thai food in a pleasant environment. Also, I was there as part of an ill-fated last ditch effort to keep this girl from leaving me. Evidently Bangkok Blue didn't exactly wow her. Your mileage may vary.

Lots of restaurants to choose from on boyston st, and very different prices ranges as well. the 4 of us decided on thai food at bangkok blue and we ate outside on a very nice day. we had the traiditional singha thai beer, below are the items that we ordered. Overall not a bad meal, everything was devored. Food came out extremely fast which was odd, espeically when you order duck. Nothing was outstanding, mostly average but tasty, food was slightly overcooked, shirmps were small. The real standout was the pad thai which is the only thing i would reorder, great taste and authentic. if you like real thai food, try bamboo in brighton which is the best in boston rating 6.5 out of 10 bkkblueboston.com/index.… WILD BOAR BASIL 12.95 Tender pork, pan fried with mushrooms, green peppercorns, bell peppers, hot peppers and fresh basil in a Thai special sauce. TAMARIND DUCK 16.95 Half boneless roasted duck topped with shredded ginger, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, pineapple, tomatoes, and scallions in a tamarind sauce. SHRIMP CRISPY BASIL 15.95 Sauted shrimp in pik pow sauce, string beans, bell peppers and cashew nuts, topped with crispy basil. Pad Thai 9.95 The most famous Thai noodle dish; rice noodles pan fried with egg, chicken, shrimp, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts.

I like Bangcock Blue, It is as consistant as any thai restaurant I know. I have lunched here off and on for several years. They are extremely attentive and fill your water quite often. The cost is fair. I expect lunch to cost around $10. I am in love with their drunken noodles. They taste amazing! The only drawback is that it goes right through you (TMI, I know) and I often find that I am hungry again mid-afternoon. It's quick, they have water, one tasty dish anyway, moderate price....3 stars.

I have loved everything I have ever gotten here. I usually get the specials but have got stuff off the menu. The lunch comes with a spring roll and dumplings and I always leave there full. They are quick at lunch. I have never been here for dinner. Great location and I love the patio in the summer.

I can't speak for all the dishes on the menu, but what I ate was really great. I had the papaya salad and the coconut soup, while my husband had the double-fried pad thai. Healthy, right? Having lived in Thailand, it is hard to find good papaya salad and coconut soup in the U.S., but I think Bangkok Blue is successful in its interpretation. The pad thai was good. You usually can't go wrong with that dish and the double-fried noodles gave the dish some crispiness. We also had the Thai coffee, which is simply sweetened condensed milk with coffee. This is always a favorite of mine and the one at Bangkok Blue did not disappoint. Overall, it was a good dining experience and I will definitely return.

I am still learning about Thai food. I tried their lunch special--crispy Pad Thai with Thai iced tea (my new favorite). It was very good, fast and friendly service. I ate inside since it was too humid to try the outdoor seating. I will try another Thai dish next time as I learn their different foods.

I eat here a lot (take out) because it is very convenient for me. However, I can't say the food from this place is outstanding. Its not that it is bad... its just consistently better than ok. I have never eaten at the actual restaurant, so I can't comment on the service. The decor seems pretty nice though, and there is outdoor seating in the summer.

I thought this place was pretty good....the servings were a good size for the price. The green curry wasn't the best I've had but I ate the whole thing so I can't complain. The lunch came with a couple free appetizers per person so that was a pleasant surprise (great crunchy spring roll)! It was pretty busy so I figured it would be trustworthy if it could maintain that amount of business. I'd try other places before going back, it doesn't make my top list.

I came to Bangkok Blue for my first time this past Monday for an Entertainment Luncheon. Kats from within my industry meet, exchange info, contacts, etc. It was a sponsored event (Ameriprize Financial?) So eating for free was one of the highlights of the afternoon. I got the Pad See You..sp?* Rice noodles, veggies, and a choice of meat. The meat n veggies were good, (supposedly pork, but I could swear it was chicken.) but I wasn't a big fan of the noodles(very slimy long and thick cut, albino as someone else had said). The others ordered the duck which was amazing, a veggie tofu platter, which looked really tempting and something else I didn't really catch. Everyone left satisfied and my friend who ordered duck took the rest to go. I would go back for a bite, and recommend others to try it for themselves but its nothing to write home about...HaHa. The service was great; polite, and timely. The place was quiet and clean, no complaints there. 3 STARS.

Hmmmmmmm - A lot of mixed reviews here. I agree that it's definitely just an average Thai place, but I was happy with it because I was craving Thai food walking around the area and just happened upon it. The prices aren't crazy high, the service is OK, the place is small and ambient. The food - pretty good - not amazing, but good. We split Chicken Satay for an app, and they were juicy and flavorful. My friend got some seafood dish and said it was OK. I got the crispy duck and it was some of the best Duck I've ever had (despite parts being somewhat overcooked). It had a great sweet sauce, crispy noodles, and vegetables. I would definitely eat that meal again, but would be curious if I'm ever in that area again, craving thai food, stop in here and try some of their other dishes. I just don't think I'd go out of my way to say, "Hey, let's go to Bangkok Blue for some Thai. It was the best Ever!!!" Cuz it wasn't. :-/ 3.5 stars. It's good, but I'm not fanatic about it.

what do you get when you are seated next to a group of 30 something divorcees but recently found love and reminescing ... a really good meal ... the food here is authentic. when it says its spicy, its spicy! i had ordered the wild boar basil ( its not boar meat, its pork) and it had 2 chili peppers next to it. i thought nothing of it, when restuarants say plates are spicy, they usually arent. wow , try this! it was hot but it wasn't unbearable. after finishing it, thats when the hot numbness took into effect. not even my thai ice tea could cool it down, which by the way was soo good, it sort of tasted like a orange creamiscle and for some reason, i really enjoyed the aftertaste. my bf ordered the mango curry and that was really good too! for starters, we ordered the coconut soup with shrimp. and it was soo good. the flavors and richness of each ingredient was like a party in your mouth. the meal was great and listening to the group next to us felt so pretentious. however, we were able to drown them out of hearshot when we were talking. it was to say the least amusing. walking back home, bf joked how we would end up like that! hah! riiighhttt..

Meh. For the food, the service, the decor, the pricing. Meh. I thought it'd be better considering the awesome location, and the nice outside seating, and they often look busy, so I guess it can't be all bad. But I'd rather walk one more block down and eat at Chilli Duck.

This place serves great food, as long as you don't come by or take out during weekday lunch hours. The place is just too busy at lunch and the kitchen cuts corners on the smaller details of its entrees, like the almonds on your mango rice, for whatever logical reason. The staff is nice, quick, and they've never had a problem with my girlfriends and I lingering an hour after our dinner to chat. My new favorite is their Crispy Pad Thai! I shied away from it for a long time thinking that it's a fried version of the regular, but it's actually just special tiny noodles that are undercooked to remain crunchy. The apple salad is also good.

I have to say I was really let down by my lunch here.....my drunken noodles were way too oily, and my crag rangoon was literally all cream cheese. It was definitely not worth the $10 or whatever it was. I wanted some good thai food, and it wasn't what I was longing for. Chili Duck now has my loyalty, I think.

Very good thai food. Pad Tai is full of peanuts, scallions and chicken. The drunken noodles are also very good. Atmosphere is laid back and casual.

I ate here the other day because I had a pad thai craving and the place was convenient. It was much better than I expected. I was expecting the food to be bland and everything to be overpriced. What I got was a gigantic portion of perfectly delicious Pad Thai that matched its price tag. I would have preferred a cheaper, smaller portion, but at least this place doesn't resort to small, expensive portions just because it's a restaurant on expensive real estate. The food came out fast and the servers were very attentive. My glass of water was never empty. Believe me, I tend to drink up water like an elephant during meals and these glasses were small! The server came around about 8 or 9 times to refill my glass, even when it looked like I was finishing up (I hate it when no one comes by with the water 3/4s of the way through your meal).!

Got to admit that I've very picky when it comes to Thai food especially since I'm from California where Thai food is found just around every corner. I was pleasantly surprised by this Thai place on my 2nd trip to the Boston area. I amused my Boston area friends when I went to this restaurant 3 or 4 times in a 7 day span. The entrees are excellent and the Cocunut Thai soup is spectacular. I would high recommend this place to anyone in the Boston area or a tourist. I discovered this place on my own and my Boston area friends have returned several times.

Love the pad thai here and the lunch special - order any entree and get a free spring roll, a free pork dumpling and a free vegetable dumpling. It's a super affordable lunch (I had such a large portion, that the rest was enough for another meal) with a great spot for people watching on Boylston street. When the weather gets nice, they offer outdoor seating, too.

Really good Thai. I enjoyed the spicy pad thai and pad paradise.Terrific iced coffee, oh my! Nice atmosphere, good service, wide selection, decent prices. Next to the Copley green line stop.

I'm giving this two stars instead of one, because at least I didn't find a hair in my food. I'm also hoping that this place is better if you eat in - but the take-out was awful. Super greasy, overcooked, tasted stale. We got pretty standard dishes - pad thai and drunken noodles. You'd think they'd at least have these down pat, but it was like eating mall food. Go to House of Siam instead.

I got take out here for lunch a couple weeks ago and enjoyed my chicken Grapow (sp?) very much. I'm a big fan of Chilli Duck, and after being disappointed by Thai Basil on Newbury Street, I was reluctant to visit. But when I finally did, I was rather pleasantly surprised. It was a little slow getting the check settled once my food was there, but the food was good. Unfortunately, it was the one really hot day a couple weeks ago, and I was planning on running four miles after work. I was burping up the taste of Thai all through my long, hot run, which was not altogether pleasant. But aside from that, I'll certainly go again, despite still having more affinity for Chilli Duck.

I like this place a lot, despite the not so great reviews here! Granted, I only ever really eat the pad thai but it is rather delicious. It is your standard pad thai, so nothing really unique. They do have a crispy pad thai that I've tasted before and I think that is good and a lot less saucey (so potentially healthier). The veggies they put in the dish are usually fresh and the place is generally not that packed so you can always get a seat, at least during the week. I think this is standard thai in a convenient location, so nothing over the top but definitely worth a stop in if you are in the area, especially for lunch.

Decent. I only went in there because it was raining and I didn't feel like walking down to Chilli Duck, which is WAAAAY better. I think I'd make this 2.5 stars, but yah... nothing special and they charged me extra for chinese brocolli. Anything Chinese is CHEAP or at least it should be! BLECH.

Great Thai food. Although I eat it more than most, I'm not a huge fan of tofu. BUT, Bangkok Blue prepares tofu dishes with a deep flavor. Try: Rama Garden, Basil Tofu, Spicy Tofu, Tofu Radprig, Drinken Noodles and Pad Thai. Wash it all down with sweet Thai Iced Tea.

Average and typical thai restaurant, I thought it would be better because of the location. It is cheap for lunch though and it was decent inside. The tofu radprig wasn't overly fried like some tofu is, and the sauce was actually pretty good but crazy spicy. I was glad they had brown rice, though. Just don't expect anything special.

This should be a 3.5. I was surprised by the low-rated reviews here. My boyfriend and I ate here a couple of a days ago on a Saturday afternoon. We figured it would be pricey due to its location on Boylston Street, but we were both pleasantly surprised by our lunches. The crab rangoon and pork dumplings are excellent. I felt that the veggies on my chicken dish were very fresh and tasty. My meal had a rating of one pepper of spicyness, and that was about right, something I have not experienced at other restaurants. Give this place a try.

For the price this place is worth the money. They have impressive ice cream desserts and great appetizers. I wish the rice was not like the minute rice you can cook at home. That's probably the only draw back.
