We came here for the all-you-can-eat sushi bar. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I figured if it's all you can eat, it probably isn't the best quality. However, everything you order is made fresh (or so we were told) so those fears were unfounded. The food was decent--not stellar, but pretty nice considering the one-time price. You can order as much as you want but you HAVE to eat everything and not be wasteful because you will be charged for what you don't eat. The spider roll was pretty awful though, so steer clear from that one. It was kind of frustrating though because our waitress vanished towards the end--we waited 20 minutes (if not more) for our dessert item and check. I felt bad for flagging her down and asking her (and once we did, both arrived promptly). It felt awkward sitting for so long. Still, this is a neat place tucked away and a lot of fun if you're okay with dropping $20-$25 for all you can eat sushi.

Overall this place is pretty decent. I like the teppanyaki experience the best. The chefs are all very good cooks and almost as importantly, great entertainers. There's usually a lot of laughs. My only gripes are with the sushi and all you can eat "buffet." The sushi is just ok. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to really complain about either. The all you can eat deal is terribly confusing. It's a set price per person and they give you two sheets of paper (one is for the sushi deal and the other is for non-sishi meals) with a bunch of options you are suppose to check off. It sounds simple enough, but it's very complex. They even have a list of rules at the table that are written n a strict tone. That's always a turnoff at any place I am spending money...rules are rules, but when they come off as aggressive or unfriendly, that's where I have a problem. Also, you can't really ask the wait staff any questions about the all you can eat offer because their English isn't great, so it's hard to understand what they are saying. It's definitely frustrating. Aside from that, the servers seem friendly enough.

I ordered the "vegetable sushi" which on the menu states that it comes with 8 pieces of vegetable sushi as well as a cucumber roll. I didn't want anything fried so this dish was perfect for me especially being vegetarian. I ended up getting a plate filled with tempura and 8 pieces of vegetable sushi which all completely fell apart the second I picked them up. I was very annoyed and put my chopsticks on my plate. The server saw this and came over and took my plate away. I wasn't even finished with this half assed attempt at sushi and we were rushed out of the place on a very slow night. I will never return, the food was sub par at best and the service was horrible.

Hibachi was all delicious and serving sizes were big. Sushi was good (but I only had veggie sushi no fish). Appetizers were good as well. As always, hibachi is thoroughly amusing for the kids and makes for a fun and interactive meal.

I'm a sushi snob and very picky about the quality of my sushi. I just cannot say enough about Nana7 in Billerica and the guys that work at the sushi bar. The fish is very fresh and we've never had anything to complain about. The all you can eat special (that they have every day) is reasonably priced with a wide selection of sushi, sashimi and maki on the special menu. They also offer cooked kitchen specials and desserts. For a few great maki options, try the Crazy Roll - salmon, tuna, red snapper and crab rolled up and deep fried, then dusted with tobiko and scallions. Or their Sexy Girl with spicy tuna and crunchy panko inside with spicy crab on top. But my all-time favorite is the rice ball appetizer. It's the Japanese answer to the Italian arroncini - Sushi and avocado wrapped in rice, dipped in tempura batter, deep fried, sliced open and then drizzled with spicy sauce and tobiko. Delish! I always end with a "dessert" sushi - the butterfly roll and my new favorite - mango sushi. The butterfly roll is lobster, mango and avocado wrapped in soy bean paper and drizzled with mango sauce. If you sit at the sushi bar and treat the sushi chefs well, they'll occasionally make a special maki for you (see the photo attached). For a more traditional dessert, try their fried oreo cookies (another fan favorite with photo attached). Be sure to say hi to the head sushi chef, Sky when you're there. He's great, friendly and runs an awesome crew.

Regular fried rice leaves so much to be desired, they throw in vegetables you do not expect, and do not even make sense with the dish. - Hibachi fried rice is delicious and exactly what you expect for hibachi rice. Sushi is fresh, and good, though not extremely creative, what makes 7 nana worth visiting? Their sushi buffet, all you can eat, made to order. Great selection and worth the trip when you are hungry. I like that you can pick other things besides sushi, rangoons, soup, rice etc. Like other all you can eat sushi buffets if you cannot finish the sushi you are charged per piece and cannot take home.

Came here to try to the infamous sushi buffet. My friend wanted to go also so we ended up going in a big group for her birthday. Like other Yelp reviewers had said, everyone at the table has to get the buffet option. There are other options on the buffet menu from the kitchen, so it is not all sushi for those who do not eat sushi. The service was horrible. I think we had 4 servers "taking care of us". The food started coming out pretty consistently in the beginning, but that ended quickly. After 45 minutes, we had to ask for the plates we ordered while we see tables that sat down after us get their food before us. When one male server came to run a plate of sushi WE HAD JUST ORDERED after we waited so long for the food we ordered in the beginning, he told us the other server lost our ticket. THANKS FOR INFORMING US EARLIER!!!! No wonder they were all avoiding our table. They are lucky that 18% gratuity was added to our bill because they definitely would have gotten a lot less. The sushi buffet is pretty decent, but the service is horrible and I would rather spend loads of money on sushi for better service.

I disagree with a bunch of people, their sushi is NOT good or fresh...and expensive. We got one roll that was covered with canned crabmeat (possibly imitation). I repeat, our sushi was made with canned fish! We got a bunch of the Chef's specialty rolls. All the colors were a little off. We were hesitant to even eat it. I LOVE sushi! The flavors weren't anything great, mediocre at best. The worst sushi I've had in a long time but I've had worse a couple of times. We were still hungry after our rolls so we got a bunch of their $3 appetizer specials and they were pretty bad, Straight out of a box in the freezer. Some of the items may have spent too long in the freezer too. Trader Joe's frozen stuff is way better than whatever they're serving. The chicken skewers were dry & inedible. I hate that most of my reviews are negative but I feel it's my duty to warn. The cable wire coming out of the ceiling going to the low definition blurry tv bothered some people trying to watch the game but we were all amused by the children's sporting goods mounted on the wall in the bar area including street hockey sticks, a little league bat and a miniature football. We thought that we may have accidentally sat in the kid's section for a minute. Don't pay premium prices for the mediocrity that they're serving at Nana's. Nah..Nah...Nah

I've definitely had better sushi, but I have already been back so it's not bad. Can't really complain for a casual place.

3.5 stars for an above average sushi buffet, rounded down though for some kinks along the way. I was here for my good friend's birthday and I thought it was cute how these guys have a separate room for the sushi buffet with "Sushi" hung up at the entrance to it XD They offer quite a variety including sashimi (oddly enough, no maguro...), appetizers (agedashi tofu, gyoza, teriyaki, etc.), desserts and hot house sake. The sashimi's solid and the sushi itself is noticeably better than what you'd normally expect out of a high volume buffet joint. I'd be a little wary of the squid though as I began to taste a sort of film on it after eating a few pieces... Regarding the aforementioned kink, one of my friends found a fly in her salad and it was pretty disgusting to say the least. Thankfully, my other friend worked his magic and got her a $25 gift certificate for a future visit and replaced the salad. Overall, a very good deal if you have a hankering for sushi and want to fill up nicely!

Well, ok I will get right to the point. Loud, loud, loud I did like the california roll BUT that was it ,was not happy with the food at all, it was just ok . I was very disappointed and will NOT go back. Really don't waste your time or money. Oh did I mention it was LOUD ! :)

Just realized that after eating here many time, I never wrote a review. Guess I was too busy eating here than typing ;) My wife and I are loves sushi, we do spend a lot of $$ in NYC once a while for high quality sushi, but we do love to pig-out on decent sushi as well. The All You Can eat sushi/sashimi made to order is great option for us. Just to compare to Minado, you get more personal touch on the sushi presentation than just eating of an assembly line. The special rolls Nana creates not just look good but taste good too. We normally order 7-8 different special rolls and bunch of sashimi for the two of us. My wife likes to get some soup and seaweed salad as well. Don't waste the food if you can't eat all, so they can keep the price low for all of us. BTW, they are opening a second place in Worcester across from the train station.

we ate at the hibachi table for lunch - the show was fun and the food was very good - the fresh oysters on the half shell were excellent and the two lunch specials we had were well prepared and very good.

Wish you could do a 4 1/2, because that is a more accurate rating. Went for dinner last night and all-you-can-eat sushi. Made-to-order, and they just keep bringing it out as long as you keep ordering it. This includes appetizers and desserts. Everything is fresh and tasted great. With this set up you are able to try many new things as well. The catch is that everyone at your table must order the all-you-can-eat. I certainly understand because it's WAY too easy to share. However I know many people who are not sushi fans and probably would have joined us for dinner if that wasn't a restriction. That's where the 5-star falters. Other than that, if you want sushi- and lots of it- then this is the place you want to go. I think it's going to have to be a must every time I visit MA.

It's all right UPDATE: I went there yesterday again, and oh my god, things have gone down the hill for this place. The rice was dried, as if it was from yesterday. The sushi had a strange taste. And the ginger smelled of chlorine! Managers, do something!! Downgrading this from 3 stars to 2. :(

Drove here for a late night dinner with the boyfriend to satisfy our sushi craving. We ordered salmon sashimi, philly roll, sexy girl and spicy tuna. Everything came out in a timely manner, but the first thing we noticed was how thick and stuffed our philly roll was. Eventually, I went for it only to find that it was EXTRA chewy. We started picking at it and noticed that this was definitely not fresh. Salmon sashimi are NOT supposed to have brown patches on them. Maybe that's why they loaded our philly roll with massive cream cheese... We were disgusted and waited for our waiter to come so we could point this out. She came with our check and noticed that we didn't finish most of our food (who the heck can eat more after seeing brown patches on their salmon?!). She tried to charge us extra for not finishing our meal until the manager came over. We then complained to him and pointed out the brown salmon - all he said was 'okay, okay' and quickly brushed us off. Perhaps he didn't want customers around us to hear our complaints. I'm giving this place a 1 star - it's for their fried oreos but we are definitely not coming back. Spoiled fish and poor customer service. Gross.

So off we went to Nana Japanese Steakhouse on a Saturday evening. When you walk in, you are greeted to a large open foyer beckoning your appetite. The restaurant was very quiet to say the least, with 2 Teppanyaki stations open, no one at the Sushi bar area and only 3 other tables used in the back room area where we sat. We were a part of 7, seated promptly and presented ordering cards and beverages quickly followed. Nana divides its restaurant into two very distinctly varied clientele; those who want a show at the Tappanyaki table where the show is the preparation of the food with some fun and silly human tricks where by playing with your food during dinner is an acceptable form of entertainment (where we sat it looked like a lot of fun). Then there are those of us who go to Nana's for sushi which was in our case. At Nana, when ordering sushi, you may opt for the "all you can eat" or order off the so called regular menu. We all opted for the "all you can eat". You're presented with order cards, ubiquitous of any Japanese Sushi ordering format, but there are additional cards for appetizers, grilled food and dessert. The premise makes absolute sense; you order food as you want it so it's fresh and hot or cold, no one has picked through it like in a traditional buffet and the food comes to you, what is there not to love. Here lies the problem. The menu's are not exactly clear as to the portion size you are ordering (there is signage explaining that if you over order you shall be made to pay for that mistake, making it a costly one) so new to this place your ordering conservatively. The first order takes over 20 minutes to reach the table and when it does arrive, it's in dribs and drabs. In the end, we ordered food 5 to 6 different times including dessert. Spare yourself the wait now and skip dessert. We ordered a one each of the offerings to sample among us and the wait and anticipation was better used to warm up our cars upon our departure. The pros: Fresh food that was very tasty and the appetizers hot and wowed the group. The sushi was really good, again we ordered a huge assortment that we shared openly and we quickly had our favorites for individual orders. The cons: Service at the table was lacking; we had to ask for order cards constantly. The sashimi was hit and miss, you can tell that night that the tuna was previously frozen; it had a soft spongy texture that can only occur from rapid thawing. But the nail in the coffin, it was taking anywhere from 15-20 minutes for each food order to be brought to the table and again, the restaurant wasn't busy that night! My recommendation, go for the experience if you have time to kill; service wise and to drive out to Billerica.

I didn't think it was possible, but all-you-can-eat sushi got even better. Now there's no limit on the number of items per order -- and there are separate sheets for kitchen and sushi entrees. They greatly expanded the appetizer selections (which now include a variety of tempuras) and dessert choices (Oreo Delight is fried oreos!). Fried banana has moved from being a maki roll to a dessert, but there are more special rolls than ever, including soft shell crab! I was pleased that they had red bean ice cream (but were out of fresh fruit, interestingly enough) and delighted in the new albacore selections. This has become an even more tremendous value for the price, especially for weekend lunch. I'm now here at least once a month, sometimes more often than that. This is a gem that I will continue to treasure and have turned so many friends onto it!

If you had told me 4 months ago that one of the best japanese steakhouses in the country was in Billerica, MA I would have laughed myself into a coma. But it is the absolute truth. My usual dining choices consist of Aujourd'hui, The Bristol Lounge, The Capital Grille, Abe & Louie's, Grill 23, Cafe Escadrille, etc. So my expectations are generally very high. I have to say, having dined at Nana 7 on 3 occasions now, the food quality is absolutely top notch. The sushi is phenomenal, and whatever dinner combination you choose, make sure the filet mignon is one of the choices-incredible. I have come to know the owner, Jack-Lu, and I think he must sleep there, because he is always running around trying to ensure all his guests are having the time of their lives'. Request "Jimmy", he is by far, the best entertainer in the place! Oh and if you don't have a personality or a sense of humor, find someplace else to dine. If you want to loosen up and take part in the fun you will have memories to last a lifetime with a single visit! Make reservations, I find that most of the people who complain, don't have reservations on Friday & Saturday nights and are shocked that they can't just walk right in and be seated. I have never been there without seeing a line out the door. Most recently I brought my Sales Department from Marlboro Nissan, to dinner for a celebration and our employee's haven't stopped raving about it either. On the next trip we are going to bring the entire dealership! Finally, the pricing is incredibly reasonable. A dinner for 2 with sushi and the 2 most expensive dinner combinations and drinks was under $100 with a 20% tip! Dinner for 7 of us was $389. Several of us had sushi DINNER's as appetizers and still got hibachi dinners and we weren't shy about the drinks either. Keep in mind, I am a spender. A dinner for 4 ran us $750 before the tip, at Abe & Louie's. Nana 7 is very reasonable. Lastly, the portions are tremendous. I'll just come out and say it, it's hard to keep a 6'3" 300 lbs. fat guy like me happy with portions and I always leave full. Hope this helps!

The wife and I love it here. We're not huge into sushi, but every roll we've gotten has been pretty good. Love the hibachi meals. Great food, good atmosphere(some cooks are def better than others), ok service. The bar is a joke, don't get mixed drinks. I would def recommend for a fun night out.

The first time I went for sushi, it was amazing. We had our own japanese style room...it was awesome. The sushi was also amazing and fresh. Second time they remodeled and removed the room. The sushi wasn't as fresh and also mostly rice. The service was slower

I came to Nana while I was in the area on a house hunting trip. I found it through yelp...I was looking for soba noodles with cold dipping sauce. Theydidn't have that, but they had them in hot broth. Very delicious. The tuna rolls were very fresh, the white tuna sushi was delicious. The shrimp tempura was crisp and yummy. Service was excellent. They are said to busy on the weekend but no so much during the week. Go there!!! I would hate to see this place leave this area (I work in Chelmsford and need good lunch sushi). The fish is too good!

My wife and I finally tried this place after probably 2 years of good word-of-mouth reviews. We usually do the Japanese steakhouse thing a few times a year and were anxious to see if Nana 7 lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, it wasn't even close. The decor is fine inside, although the restaurant is located in a shopping plaza. As there were only 2 of us, we were seated almost immediately at a hibachi table with several other people. We ordered drinks and an appetizer (vegetable tempura) and settled in. It took the drinks a while to show up, but they were good. We assumed the appetizer wasn't ready yet. However, once the chef got about halfway through cooking the hibachi meals, we realized that the appetizer had been forgotten. Not a big deal, except now our drinks were empty and the server was nowhere to be found. We eventually flagged him down and asked about the appetizer. He apologized and we finally got the tempura after more than half of our entrees had been cooked and eaten. As for the entrees...easily the most bland Japanese food I've ever had and I've had a lot. Virtually no vegetables in the fried rice (not enough soy sauce, either), my steak was overcooked, and the dipping sauces were virtually devoid of taste. And on top of that, the tempura ended up being pretty lousy and was still on the bill, even after it arrived 30 minutes or so late. Getting drinks and dinner with the wife is always fun, so the night wasn't a total loss, but we won't be back here. The help were nice (if somewhat inattentive), which is the only thing preventing this from being a one-star review.

For all-you-can-eat sushi, this place is about average. The fish isn't going to wow you, but you knew that, right? Plus, they tend to drown it in sauces, so order with care. It's the kind of AYCE where you fill out the little paper menu, and get your food in flights. They are quick and you can get hot, cooked kitchen items as well as sushi. Herein lies the problem: these portions are of unpredictable sizes. And, like most places that work this way, you can get charged for leftovers. Thus, the consequences can be nauseating. Still, it's a fun feast for bargain-loving sushi eaters AND their raw fish and wasabi shy friends.

I'm glad I didn't have high expectations, we just wanted to try a new spot for dinner. We ordered chicken and steak with fried rice, to split. "Soup" was basically broth with mushrooms, and the salad dressing was great. They forgot our sushi appetizer until after we got our dinner. I thought about sending our dinner it back because it wasn't very warm, but since they forgot our apps it seemed like it was a wash already, even if the sushi looked good at the table next to us. We didn't get ours, so didn't eat or pay. If the food had been warm, it may have been good. Not going back though.

Went for all you can eat sushi...food wasn't great and drinks were decent. We felt rushed the whole time and had like 3 servers. Deserts were gross and chopsticks broke horribly! Not worth the $23 especially since they claim they will charge more if you don't finish your food!! Go to Oye's in Reading...SO much better!

This review is for Teppanyaki dining, which we thoroughly enjoy. We've been here for this 4 or 5 times in the past 18 months and the food has consistently been excellent. My daughter and I enjoy sushi appetizers and have never been disappointed. Presentation and flavor is very good. Others in our group had various non-sushi appetizers and were seemingly equally enjoyed. Main dish fish & meats are quality cuts and vegetables are fresh. Our meals have always been cooked to perfection and delicious. Overall, the quantity of food is generous (you will be full at the end of dinner). Entertainment by your chef is quite good - there is a little something for everyone. First timers and children will often be found wide-eyed at some of the antics and the occasional fireball from the grill. Sake squirted from a squeeze bottle and/or tossed veggies into an open mouth is always good for laughs from everyone at the grill, regardless of how many times you've participated or have seen it done before. There's only so much entertaining that can be done at the grill, so eventually, you'll see the entire repertoire of the individual chefs. Beverage service is a bit uneven after initial order. Sometimes it is pretty quick and other times you may find yourself scanning the room for your server to learn where your drinks are - or to place an order. There is really no way to determine which speed level of beverage service you're going to get until it happens. They have a sushi bar, and at one time had an "all you can eat" special there. They may still have it - but if that's what you're after, check the availability of it first. I haven't had it myself, as some in my family do not eat fish - cooked or raw. There is also dining table service, but again, we like Teppanyaki dining and opt for it instead. The noise level is a *bit* higher than I'd like, but once accustomed to it, it isn't an issue. Too many people are having fun here - so the noise level is bound to be a bit higher. I'd give it something between 4 & 5 stars, but that's not an option. I'd give it 5 full stars had the beverage service not been lacking slightly. I might have "dinged it down" further if a quiet dining room is what I wanted, but it wasn't a detractor for us as we and the others at our grill were smiling, laughing and talking the whole time. If you have a meal with speedier beverage service there, and don't mind a bit of noise - then I would expect a 5 star experience .

If I could give this place a zero I would. Next time I want to get sick with my girlfriend I'll just give her a bottle of ipecac and I'll eat some laxatives and save the $122!!! Needless to say this place can't handle raw food properly. My girlfriend and I have been to many sushi restaurants, we eat tuna tartar often, and my favorite dish is steak tar tar. However my stomach simply cant handle an army of bacteria. Go anywhere else, even McDonald's if you must, you will thank me later.

All you-can-eat sushi buffet for 20dollars ? this place is all of what I expected: Cheap, horrible service, and food was edible but I wouldn't come here again for the buffet. I'd rather get my moneys worth and not risk gettin diarrhea the next day. So I decided to try the Hibachi another day for my sisters Birthday, giving them the benefit of the doubt. We had reservations for a party of 8. When we arrived they told us they had not put us down for any reservations and it would be a 20 minute wait. I immediately asked my friends (in front of the host) if we wanted to go to Shabu Zen in Allston instead, so he let us have the table. For a person who has never eaten Hibachi before, the waitress did NOT explain how to order whatsover. I ended up not ordering anything. Just the oysters and just shared with my friend. The Hibachi Cook was very entertaining and humorous. He squirted free sake into out mouths with a ketchep bottle. The waitress starting to clear out table and brought out the check when half of us were CLEARLY not done with our entrees and threw to-go boxes on the table. RUDE!!! NOT COMING HERE EVER. Only good thing is that they serve free sake with the buffet. So maybe if you get drunk enough, you won't realize how horrible the food is.

AMAZING SUSHI. Sushi bar. Awesome grill and entertainment. Drinks are made right and taste great. Actual bar. Seating is great because there's an array of areas with different style atmospheres in each. Have TV's with most popular news and sports playing at all times. Parking is ok during the day as its in a shopping plaza, but great at night. Go here. It's all around awesome.

This place is just okay. Nana's has been on my list of restaurants to visit for a long time, but I was actually kind of disappointed. I like a fun Hibachi night out every once in awhile with a group of friends. This particular night I stopped in with just one other friend. We were seated at a table with a large family and kind of felt as though we were intruding. If we had a larger group rather than just us two it may have been a better balance. Of course this is to be expected at a Hibachi restaurant so we made the best of it. There was a very long wait between placing our order and the chef arriving at our table. He finally appeared all smiles waving his chef knife in the air. This guy had a great personality and was very entertaining. I chose the chicken teriyaki dinner and per usual hibachi style, the chef began tossing eggs in the air to begin the fried rice preparation. He was fun to watch and offered a few free sake shots from his squirt bottle to any willing takers (21+ of course) at the table. The food was just decent. The fried rice and noodles seemed a little dry and plain. I wished he hadn't chopped the chicken into such little pieces. I feel the food could have been much better for the amount of money spent on the entree. Although I love sushi I did not try any here at Nana's so not sure if that would have been a better option. After dinner there was another long wait before the check arrived. The service was friendly, but just very slow. Another establishment checked off the restaurant bucket list, but probably won't be adding this one to the favorite list.

What a great find by Mark C. and the power of Yelp. Located in a strip mall several miles off I495 it's worth traveling off the interstate for a meal here. They offer both hibachi and an all you can eat sushi bar, which was our purpose for coming here. My husband and I cache down on sushi which is great but also very expensive so the only way to full fill our craving and keep our wallets filled is to come to a place like this this. I have been to my fair share of both Chinese and Sushi all you can eat and they run the gammet from fresh and delicious to fried, dry and poorly executed. Luckily Nana is the former. Arrived Thursday around dinnertime and luckiky6it was not too crowded. Some patrons were enjoying hibachi and on the other side of the restaurant others were enjoying sushi. Mark and I grabbed a spot at the sushi bar to watch the chefs work their magic (they worked fast all evening) and perused both the Kitchen and Sushi menu. We chose a couple of apps (seated salad, aged tofu, BBQ octopus, and shrimp tempura) ordered a diet coke and got to work on our main dining options. Apps were brought out fast and were fresh and delicious-especially the aged tofu and BBQ octopus. I wanted another round but needed to save room for our sushi madness that was to come. Despite the number of patrons we never waited that long for any of our dishes. Salmon was fresh and all the rolls (personal favorite was the Butterfly and sweet potato ) were well made, moist and some of the specialty rolls were quite creative. We wee asked several times how we were doing and honestly even if we had to wait a bit longer for our rolls it was fascinating to watch the chefs expertly prepare each order. And for dessert red bean ice cream and a fried oreo (which was a bit of a mistep as it tasted like the same tempura batter the other items were fried in). Mark was lucky he did not have to roll - HA - me out of there. We are not up this way often but this would definately be a dinner option if we wee ever up this way again.

I know this is a hibachi place, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm solely basing this review on the takeout I've ordered a few times already. This is my go-to place for ordering great food at a decent price. My wife and I have ordered the complete dinner Bento Box a few times, each of different types and all were very good. The price of them is very fair considering you get a small miso soup, salad, shrimp and veg tempura, 3 gyoza (dumplings) and a basic sushi roll of your choice (California, Tuna or Salmon). The price between 16-20 for each box. We have also ordered sushi, which is very good. The filling to rice ratio is great since the layer of rice is thinner than many other places. The mushroom soup is very good too. Especially if you want to change it up from the typical miso. It's a clear broth that is packed full of mushroom/onion flavor. Overall it's these bento box dinners are a great value. The sushi and other items are about average price. I'm going to continue to order takeout from this place for sure, and will have to come in for the all you can eat sushi sometime, as well as the hibachi.

I went in on a Saturday about half an hour after it opened and I was the only one here. They sat me at the sushi bar for the all you can eat. It was neat watching the sushi chef doing various tasks like preparing a bunch of fish and vegetables, etc. I personally would prefer to sit at a booth, but I guess sitting at the bar is ok. The sushi here seems alright. I thought the rolls were pretty poor quality and presentation as you can see in the picture that I will upload. I asked for some eel sauce to eat the sushi instead of soy sauce. It was pretty good! The green tea ice cream was bitter as crap. As for the other two, the vanilla was ok and the red bean wasn't so great.

We love coming here. Can't beat all you can eat sushi! It's not the cleanest place, but the sushi preparation area is, so I'm not worried about food safety; just the floors are kind of sticky. The hibachi area can get pretty loud if there's a rowdy group there, but I assume that's the same of any hibachi, since it's dinner and a show. There is a back room which is usually quieter. Try some of the specialty rolls, they're really good!

All you can eat sushi, nothing to complain about here! They used to give free sake per person (of legal age) at the table, but I guess it must've gotten too expensive for them. I've never actually had bad service here- I mean what's so tough about taking whatever I checked off and bring it back? I stick with one cup of water for the majority of the time so I can down as many sushi rolls as possible so that means I probably don't need my water refilled right? Most of the rolls taste good so I can't really tell you what to order. However, some non-sushi things to order: short ribs, seaweed salad, miso soup, fried oreos, and green tea ice cream. I eat a lot and I often go back home feeling defeated because all that food puts me into a food coma.

If you are coming here for HIbachi, you come to the wrong place. The sushi buffet is the best I've had and I come here all the time even though it is about 40 miles to drive. This is one of the few places that serves sashimi and has a large selections of sashimi, sushi, speciality rolls, and appetizers. You can't go wrong eating here for sashimi/sushi and the quality is pretty good. The price is reasonable but I wish they were closer to Boston.

I go for the all you can eat and I love it! It is good and fresh, especially the sushi. Service can be slow at times but the quality of food is worth it. I am not a fan of Hibachi so I cannot really speak for it.

Great sushi! I go almost once a week and am happy every time. Also have gotten the hibachi noodles which they offer as a side and have enjoyed that as well. All you can eat lunch and dinner options. I have eaten there a few times and each time the restaurant has been completely empty- but I'll keep going for the sushi alone!

Good hibachi! The hibachi cook was entertaining, the food was delicious and the drink I ordered was on point. I will definitely go back. The portion was not abundant, but satisfying. The temperature in the restaurant was just a little cold, I had to keep my jacket on. I ordered zombie drink :-)

The guy luke below me is insane.. Sushi was really bad. Came here during their lunch all you can eat. Obviously not expecting the best sushi, but wasn't expecting what came next. Flavorless is one word to describe the food. Lackluster would be another. I had their new years roll and some other with spicy salmon. Those were horrible. Also had their salmon sushi, stopped eating that. Will not return. If you want a lunch buffet for sushi. Head to Maki Maki in Woburn. This is my first 1 star

I went there on a weeknight for a all you can eat sushi special, fully knowing that those sort of deals are usually not the best off the menu. Even with this expectation going in, I was still disappointed. The menu lacked descriptions (paper and pencil), so if you didn't know what something was, you had to guess. Staff had difficulty communicating, so asking questions wasn't a solution either. None of the food was bad (sushi was fresh), but nothing was particularly good either. I probably won't be back again because I wasn't impressed. I would rather keep trying new places. Maybe their hibachi setup on the other side of the restaurant is better, I can't speak to it.

Overly priced. Staff is not friendly. Long wait for all you can eat. They nearly put my friend Rudy who is a diabetic into a hypoglycemic episode due to wait time. My friend lean daddy asked for a fork and they beat him nearly to death with a chop stick. Their food was subpar when it finally arrived. Their chicken and beef teriyaki was gross. Ricks cafe is better. I spent $28 on lunch. Then I had to go to Ricks cafe after to get nana 7 taste out of my mouth. Last but not least their bathrooms are absolutely disgusting.

/We had lunch here today at the sushi buffet. The environment was nice and makes me want to try their hibachi grill sometime. The buffet selection was one small page and was missing some of our favorite rolls. Still, there were a half dozen sushi chefs behind the counter feverishly working to fulfill the lunchtime orders. The taste of the sushi was decent. We liked the tobiko sushi and the seaweed salad so we ordered quite a few of them. The eel sushi and eel rolls were also good. Many of their sushi had ample avocados in them which filled me up. The waiters and waitresses seemed a bit rushed at times.

This review is about an experience one evening in December 2013 when me and four friends went to the all you can eat sushi. The food is average at best, but it was just the small amount of food we were given, and the scene caused when we wanted more food that this review is about. If it is not all you can eat, then don't say it is. Upon receiving 3 noodle dishes, everyones soup, microscopic tuna tar tar, rice balls, some chicken katsu, saki, some shrimp & veg tempura, and beef and chicken teriyaki, the waitress said she was canceling our sushi order because we ordered so much food. One of the noodle dishes was inedible tasted like charcoal and neither were the rice balls so we sent them back. We were five decent sized humans so we were confused as to how they could think we ordered too much food and demanded they didn't cancel our sushi and bring it out. They only brought out a limited amount of sushi and brought mostly cheap sushi including chicken tempura sushi which no one ordered. The rolls had mostly cream cheese and avocado with a small sliver of animal protein. When I asked for more chicken katsu, I was still very hungry, I was brought out a barely cooked, tiny piece of chicken which will be in the photo gallery of this page and the sushi was not acceptable. The manager was actually brought out when we ordered the extra chicken katsu and rolls to check up and make sure we ate all our food. Really? 20 minutes later this tiny chicken katsu comes and rolls of cream cheese and avocado. On top of the food, 3 of the diners drank huge expensive drinks including 2 scorpion bowls, so what did they want from us? In conclusion, we spent over 180$ for barely any food, and an amount of disrespect I've never received in a restaurant. I've never had a manager check on the amount of food I've eaten. What planet are the people from at this restaurant? I've lived in Manhattan, San Francisco, and Boston, but I've never experienced anything like Nana Steakhouse in all my foodie travels. Bravo for really kicking up the creepy factor and making this exceptionally strange dining experience. While we felt disrespected, it was certainly an experience I will not soon forget.

I was there last night, and in my honest opinion I would definitely come back. Food was great. Service was awesome. I think it was decently priced, for the amount my friends and I got. I would recommend it to other people as well. Got to try the Oreo Delight!!! A+++ I wish there was one closer to Arlington.

I'm going to give this place a big Thumbs-down. My fiance and I came here for the first time tonight after hearing how good it was from several people in the past, however.. Here is why we left unsatisfied: -The service was super slow. -It was chaotic as all hell in there. We had 2 different waiters and somewhere along the lines one of our orders (chicken terryaki) was missing in action (and neither seemed to really know much about it..but we did get it at the ass end of our meal, after the green-tea ice cream.. Which I thought was bizarre.) - When we first came in, we decided on the "All you can eat Sushi" menu (which comes with various other "all you can eat" items like soups, appetizers, smaller portions of the hibachi, etc.) vs. doing the hibachi table. No complaints about the sushi actually. We liked that part. However, the other stuff was crap. - The green tea ice cream was NASTY and I've had it other places where it was delicious. -The potato katsu took a long time to come out, and you only get 1 small piece. -The chicken terryaki was just SAD to look at and cold..covered in a thick, weird, terryaki flavored GRAVY... we didn't even eat it. The chicken was so rubbery and so cold. We weren't expecting it to come from the Hibachi grill, but at least make it fresh and HOT or something. -The edamame was good. Can't really screw that up. Overall, I've had much better food/service and I left here feeling like I had been raped out of a lot of money. $57 for 2 all you can eat Sushi meals was robbery. The food was nothing special and the service was weak. We basically paid $57 +tip for 3 rolls of sushi and a bowl of edamame. YIKES.

I've been to Nana a couple times for Hibachi and Sushi and both times were great. The cook was really personable and the food was great. Prices are pretty typical of what you would find at any Hibachi Steakhouse, about $22.00 for a steak and chicken combo plate. The sushi was o.k. but not the best I've had.

I am a new huge fan of this place! I have gotten hibachi, and sushi here and it is delicious! The hibachi cook was hilarious, a little cooky but entertaining and I liked it! We came here to get all you can eat sushi (yesss, ALL YOU CAN EAT) and it was on point! You can also order small dish appetizers and sides with the all you can eat sushi for I think it was $22 during the week and $25 per person on the weekend. SO worth it will all that you can get, I will be coming here again for sure! My new fave :)

Disgusting! This is one of the dirtiest restaurants I've ever been in. Some may be fooled with the dark and dingy décor - but if you open your eyes the filth is all around you! The floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks and even the menus were dirty. I literally almost vomited from the nasty stench in the bathroom. The sewer odor from the bathrooms even evaded the hallways! You'd better know exactly what you want when you go because the English language barrier is a problem there. I will never go there again!

I take friends who are just visiting Boston here a lot. It's a great place to have some laughs while having some delicious food. Out of all of the hibachi places I've been to around Boston, this is the most entertaining one. Some of the chefs are hilarious with their accents and silly acts - you get to catch some veggies with your mouth and drink some sake from the bottle during their "cooking show". The price is decent, $25 for filet mignon, along with fried rice, shrimp, noodles and veggies. It's a lot of food! The food tastes pretty good, they never overcooked my meat - I generally take my steak in med-rare. The steak is very savory and tender. Although they use a little too much butter - about half a bar of butter goes into one particular meal for 3-4 people, so it's not really on the healthy side. Their grilled mussels is very very tasty. The staff is very fun, attentive and friendly. They are not authentic Japanese per se but the atmosphere, entertainment and the food is worth a 4 star. They also offer vouchers on restaurant.com , steep discount on non-weekend days.

Sushi here is amazing!! Combo dinners are enough food for 2 people to share, because they come with soup, salad, noodles, rice, protein, and veggies. Sexy lady, tuna, and salmon rolls are my favorite. We usually get takeout because we live so close by, but have dined in a few times and had such a great time with my family and friends.

I've been here twice and I won't go back. Both times, my party was the only one in the restaurant, and this is at dinner time. The food is good, the show is great, but the language barrier that I experienced with the staff is unmanageable. Food: +, Hibachi Show: Big +, Service and Atmosphere: -.

A good diverse range of items on the ayce menu, including sashimi, not often found at ayce buffets. A couple of unusual maki rolls with rice paper were excellent. VERY attentive staff. While not extraordinary, the ayce buffet here is well worth it.

The food is good, but the all you can eat is mediocre due to incredibly slow service. Went with a work party for lunch (about 8 of us), and the place wasn't too busy. We put in our initial order and waited, and waited, and eventually an appetizer came out - the chicken wings, which were quite good. Then we waited, and waited, and then another appetizer came out. And then we waited, and waited, and then ALL OF THE SUSHI came out. And based on the delay, we guessed at how much we'd want, and immediately put in orders for round 2, figuring that we'd have a while to wait for it. The problem is, given the massive wait times, you're either going to end up underestimating how much food to get, and then have to decide whether to order more food and wait another half hour for it to come out, or overestimating, ordering too much food, and then getting charged for what you can't finish. That's right, they couple slow service with a policy of "anything you can't finish, we charge you extra for", even though it's an all-you-can-eat buffet. Even though their heart is in the right place by trying to avoid food waste, it's a difficult combination to deal with as a customer.

I ordered the "New England Patriot" drink which was exceptionally good. As for sushi, I ordered the Volcano Roll and that was really delicious. Service; the waitress made me feel slightly rushed and the hostess was either confused to what I wanted or was just eager for me to head off to the hibachi grill. Pricing was worth what I ordered, although a little pricey. Overall, my experience at Nana 7 was good and the place was cute.

I had a bit of trouble locating this business profile because it was searching for 7 Nana - no luck! Finding the restaurant in the strip mall was fortunately easier. We were here for the all-you-can-eat deal (AYCE) rather than the teppanyaki option, so we were seated in a good sized room in the back and were provided with two types of self-check menus - Kitchen, and Sushi Bar. When I first heard that this was an AYCE spot where you made your selections from a menu, Yamato of Brighton came to mind with their rather slow service. As a sizeable group, we were able to try a good portion of their menu. The dishes were portioned for trying many different items and arrived in reasonable time, but unfortunately, we had to guess at what each might be. As such, I had no idea if my crunchy eel ever arrived, till I made one last special request for the roll. No wonder I couldn't tell that it had been previously delivered - it lacked the tempura flakes that I had my eyes peeled for... . steamed shrimp were pretty big . spider roll arrived at an unpleasantly cool temperature . I especially enjoyed the potato katsu . lobster puff looked and tasted like crab rangoon . age tofu was good . seaweed salad was low on the seaweed high on the white stringy filler . gyoza was thin skinned and good . crispy calamari was okay . all the sushi orders arrived on large plates so it was a bit confusing . green tea ice cream reminiscent of chocolate . red bean ice cream was good . fried banana arrived 3 to an order and were good . oreo delight were 3 fried oreos per order and were tasty and not greasy For green tea, we were charged $1.50 each, but the Sake was included... I don't get that... Lunch Mon - Fri $15.95 Dinner Sun - Thurs $21.95; Fri & Sat $23.95 *** 5/2012 visit *** Yeah, get the potato katsu - yummy mashed potato with a katsu crisp crust - what's not to like? Ordering off several order forms in a large party gets really confusing as the wait staff just keep bringing the food and placing it down with no attempt at giving it to the actual corner of the table that placed that particular order. They also like to combine orders on fewer plates, which just adds to the confusion, making it tougher to mentally calculate how many orders to place of the same item. *** 9/2012 visit *** They've gotten better at serving a large party what the subset ordered. Get the potato katsu appetizer, age tofu, the teriyaki beef ribs, the grilled mussels special, a selection of sushi/rolls, and the fried desserts, and I was happy. *** 10/2013 visit *** Buffet prices are still the same. Some of our orders got lost, but after confirming, we just placed new orders. The server was apologetic. Friends loved the tuna tartar and the salmon sashimi.

I was recently at this place and was very pleased with y food. I had a Filet Mignon Teppanyaki dinner, and the portions are very generous. The dinner comes with soup of your choice, salad, rice (white or fried for $1 extra), noodles, 3 shrimp and the meat(s) of your choice. I was impressed by the amount of food, I just wished the noodles didn't have so much butter. Like I said before, the food was flavorful. So why 4 stars? 1) I asked for a mojito and they didn't have the ingredients to make them, so I split a scorpion bowl and it was basically fruit punch only. 2) It was 12 of us on the table so it would be a decent check aka tip but the waitress was hard to get a hold of. I'm guessing she was just relying on the fact she could automatically add her tip. I appreciate good food but never forget service. Oh, they also had a live band (Friday night) and people were dancing on a small area. The people weren't dressed to impress and had probably had one too many drinks. Whatever that's worth to you... keep that in mind. Those things aren't a deal breaker and I would go back to this place. To eat, only. PS: Someone had the Teppanyaki Salmon and Oh man it looked delicious!

Nana7. This place, I never had their habachi grill but it seems fun if you're with a big crowd. I've been here a few times and my experiences have always been the same. I usually go for their sushi buffet, all you can eat. What I can say is that their sushi doesn't really taste all that great. I feel like it's less fresh than other places and usually I can go like a few pieces but after about 4 pieces I'm really just done with the place. If you've never had good sushi or sushi in general, this place might work for you but in reality I just don't think it tastes very good. I feel sick after the first bite. I definitely don't recommend coming here but if I had to i'd just stick to a beverage and some normal appetizers.

The sushi here is nasty and on top of it, the guy that make the sushi kept sneezing and spit out his saliva in front of me. Disgusting!!! The service is bad and the workers here are really rude and nasty!! I will never go back and would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

3.5 out of 5. Not the best sushi quality, but for $20 AYCE, it's definitely not bad either. They've got a good number of items for you to choose from. Soups and salads are on the list too, but I don't expect that to be anyone's main focus. Yes, they do charge for excessive amounts of uneaten food. I recommend getting hot tea to go with your meal. Allows you to maximize your eating potential.

The food was mediocre, I got sirloin steak and shrimp. Steak was a little tough, I've had better shrimp, and vegetables. It was expensive at $22, if you want fried rice add another $1.50. Service was great and our chef was funny. It seemed when he cooked at the table next to ours that he was much quieter. Drinks were good.

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill BIG time! I visited with a party of 8 last night for my brothers 30th birthday and needless to say all 8 of us left feeling very unimpressed. To start they were out of chicken wings and instead of notifying our table of this they just brought over the rest of the food with no apology or acknowledgement even though we had requested two orders of them. Also while I was eating the udon noodles I realized a big WAD of Saran Wrap was in my mouth!!! I showed the waiter because I felt like it could be dangerous for other customers and he could basically care less. The quality of sushi has also gone way down hill from past visits- we all agreed that it felt like they have added tempura flakes to all rolls as a "filler". Bummed that a place we were loyal to in the past has taken a turn for the worst!!!!!

Yikes - what a difference a couple of months makes. My wife and I visited Nana again recently and it was a total fiasco. We won't be back. Highlights: 1. I got AYCE. My wife didn't. We both ordered veggie tempura apps. One came out first. We assumed it was my wife's order, so she dug in. When she finished, our bizarre waiter, who spoke almost no English, started yelling at us about how non-AYCE customers can't touch any food ordered by AYCE customers. At several points during his tirade, he put his hands on my wife's plate and was motioning wildly. It was creepy and incredibly awkward. My veggie tempura came out ~20 minutes later (after my entrée). 2. There is no discernible level of organization to the place. Waiter brought the wrong food to the wrong table ~6 times during our meal. Each time, it was a struggle to explain to him that what he was holding wasn't what I ordered. 3. The place smelled like a frat house - that offensive smell of stale, cheap beer, with vague urine accents. 4. The food is not good. It's cheap, hastily prepared, oily-as-hell, and clearly not fresh. You will think to yourself: I'm ordering AYCE sushi in Billerica for $24. What is wrong with me? Stay away. Go to Maki Maki in Woburn. Much better food and service.

I went here for a birthday dinner and drinks last night. I think the service was nice, the drink was ok. But the food is not that great. I had the patriot sushi roll which is tasteless. Most of my friends had it cook right in front of them. This is what I saw, and tasted. The fried rice for 5 people, only included 1 egg with soy sauce. For those who know how to cook fried rice, how do you think this taste? Same way they cook the noodles. For salmon, they gave you a small piece and it also tasteless. I'm Asian; I can cook a lot of Asian food and growing up eating Asian food. Overall, I would give 1 or 2 stars for the food here, the drinks probably 3 stars.

I have been Nana twice in 6 weeks - once for my parents' anniversary, and also for my sister's birthday. I can't say I love the place, but it was worth the quality and price. The All-You-Can-Eat sushi is $21.95 on week nights, which is pretty decent. Both times we opted for the dining area instead of the bar /front of the restaurant because the hibachi can be loud at times. You get two pieces of paper - one for ordering sushi, the other for "hot items" and dessert. You check off the quantity of anything you want. The hot items usually come way before the sushi does. If you are there to eat your fill of sushi, I recommend you do not order too many hot items. The sushi and sashimi were very fresh and great portion. I find the seaweed salad portion extremely skimpy. When you get the bowl, it looks like a moutain of seaweed, but when you start eating, it was literally two bites and the rest was shredded daikon (which is mostly used for decoration). The tempuras and gyozas were pretty good. The beef/salmon teriyaki was ok, I am not a big fan of them because the sauces were just too sweet for my taste. Beef tataki is a must... so spicy but so good! Oh, how could i forget.. FREE HOT SAKE! My only one big complain, which is one of my pet peeves when I go out to eat, is that they don't pay attention to your drinks! The first time I ate there, I ordered a green tea. They never once came by to refill it, until we asked them and they refilled it once and that was it. The next time I ordered water, at least the glass is clear and they can see through it and saw that it was empty... nope, you still have to ASK them to fill it. So, maybe the next time I go there I wlll bring my own liter of water so that I don't have to deal with that. Overall, this place is ok. It's in North Billerica so it was about a 40 minute drive from me, but so far, so good!

Has anyone gone here for drinks and either A: received drinks on their debit card that they did NOT order and the staff refused to take off their bill? or B: Feel like they had minimal drinks and felt like they were ruffied?

My husband and I come here for all you can eat sushi. It's very affordable, there are people that have reviewed and said, " you have to pay for what you don't eat." IT'S MADE TO ORDER. Which means its fresh& comes to your table as you order it; instead of it being under those lamps that you see in Chinese rest. That have the "sushi bar" which was made an hour prior to you coming to eat there. I have always loved this place. Their all you can eat dinner menu is great; not the cheapo rolls you would think with the price being 23.00 in the evenings. I especially love the BBQ squid. And I love that I can order what I love& my husband can do the same. AND YOU GET SAKI with your meal too! ( May Just be for dinner) Can't beat that!!!

This is the worst sushi place I've ever been to. If you love sushi steer away from this place, the fish is far from fresh, the waiters are slow and loud and the food is nasty to say the least. I wish I could give this place a zero.

I have been to Nana's on two separate occasions for the all-you-can-eat sushi buffet. I will be writing this as a combined review, and note it accordingly. Food: The food is good IF you know what to order or when to come. My first time here was during a weekday around lunch. The food did not taste fresh, and the fried food buffet was mediocre at best. However, I returned again for a friend's birthday event and the sushi was a lot better. Be cautious of any "special rolls", some of them are overpowered with sweetness or other flavors. Avoid Philadelphia rolls. Get the seared tuna or beef. Order all at once if you can, or suffer waiting...a long time. Note: Complimentary Sake with all you can eat and proper ID. Atmosphere: In the hibachi section, it is very lively and there's always something to watch. In the backroom, it is more reserved for larger groups and is thus a little loud. It definitely feels like a Japanese establishment, but doesn't sound like one - if you get what I mean. Staff: Ah staff. My first time here was during the dead of lunch, staff checked up on us occasionally at best. The second time I came in a larger group, they needed more staff members to tend to us, so we always had someone we could flag down. Even then, it took a while to get things done. Note: Ask to have the check split for large groups. Final Thoughts: There are better all-you-can-eat sushi places out there (Yamato or Minados comes to mind), but if you're looking for local - this is the best you've got. Patience and lots of trial and error are key here.

I came here with some friends who wanted to enjoy the all you could eat sushi deal. I think it was around $15 a person to eat if I remember correctly, as I decided to eat something else. My friends got a variety of sushi rolls, and they really enjoyed the wide selection and generous portions. I did pick a few pieces off off here and there to sample, and my favorite was their eel one. The eel melted in your mouth, and the flavors of the sushi really complimented one another well. I also tried another piece which was a thin piece of salmon draped over rice, which was also good as well. You really cannot go wrong here. I never eat a lot of sushi at once, but from what I saw on the table, it looked amazing! I personally got the chicken katsu bento. They came with a few little gyozas, a few pieces of California roll, a serving of rice, sauce, a salad, and a generous portion of chicken. I also got miso soup with it as well. The chicken was unfortunately dry and a bit hard to eat without dousing it in the sauce (I rather the sauce be a compliment to the katsu, and not a necessity) but the gyoza was delicious, as was their katsu sauce. The miso soup was also flavorful and had a very nice color to it; it wasn't watered down, and it paired with the food nicely. I also split a Scorpion bowl with someone...hey, it's 5PM somewhere! Props to the bartender, it was definitely one of the better ones I've had! All and all, I really need to give this place a shot with their sushi. What I did have was great, and what I did look at made me want to expand my horizons and try what they have to offer.

I am very disappointed with the service we received yesterday. I would consider our family to be "regulars", as we come here for Hibachi here anywhere from once a week to once a month. The service has always been fine until yesterday, and we will not be returning after that experience. The servers were incredibly rude to us and ignored us throughout the meal. My husband had to get his own chopsticks, our waters were never refilled, I had to practically beg to get a drink from the bar, and we were given to-go boxes as soon as the chef left, and no one returned to check on us until the bill was dropped off. It is a shame because the food is usually good, but we will be taking our business elsewhere going forward.

I love this place. I come to Nana quite often with my co-workers after our long day is done. The drinks are great. They pour the right amount of alcohol and mixer (if you get a mixed drink). The food is awesome. I had some of their sushi last night (California, Sweet Potato, Spicy Tuny, Spicy Crab, and a mango tasting one). It was delicious!! Also, can I just say that their french fries are the best french fries I've ever had. It's really weird to write about how great french fries are, but these ones, I believe, are worth writing about. Can't wait to come back to get more yummy food! :)

I went here expecting it to be something like Minado in Natick, Massachusetts. Minado is a true Buffet, where you select sushi from a long line of stations where it is prepared fresh by sushi chefs... That is not the case at Nana. Just to be clear, it's not really a Buffet, more of an, All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE). This is a good thing with Sushi, since you want to make sure it is freshly made. The sushi here is really good. I tried a bunch of different sushi rolls that I was familiar with and even a few of the 'special chef rolls'. The waitstaff was super friendly. They were constantly coming around to check on our table, even waitresses that we're 'our own' came by to see how we were. CONS: The wait for Sushi can be long... but keep in mind, it's being made fresh. So I really can't deduct points for that, just more of a caveat for people who seem to want the food quickly. I would deduct a star for the uncertainty you get in the ordering process. While some things are explained in the menu, most items are not described at all. This wouldn't be an issue, except that they charge you for wasted food... PROS: I do applaud them for charging for wasted food. In a society of excess, with people still going hungry, I think it's fair for a restaurant to promote responsible ordering. Again, the deduction I have is for the lack of description and 'order size' of each item. You don't know how big the item you are ordering is, or if it contains ingredients you won't like. The pros are that the AYCE is $16. That's a great deal for Sushi. The fish I had was fresh, though other Yelpers say otherwise. You can also choose a number of appetizers, soups and dessert for your AYCE price. I like the atmosphere here as well. This is a fun place and the Sushi was pretty good. I'd suggest you take a stop in for the AYCE Sushi Lunch.

No sure if I'll have the runs yet since I just got back from there. But judging from our dinner tonight, this place was awesome. Everything was very good, from the sashimi to nigiri to the special rolls and apps. Everything was fresh and I highly recommend the black pepper tuna. And I was able to catch playoff game (heat/sixers) F lebron! Bottom line: awesome all you can eat sushi at a good price, Tip: dont waste your time with apps, however tempting they are, jsut go with sushi, sashimi, and the sushi specials! but do save room for desert. Enjoy fellow fatties! alchoholic tip: they have all you can drink warm sake, just have to ask! and I got a 22oz sapporo to do my own sake bombs, holla back drunks

The food is great, service is great even though it sounds like english is a second language to many of the staff, simply the best place around for onion volcanoes and knife tricks. The only reason I can think of why they are not more busy is that i don't think they have takeout so a lot of people don't think of them when they go out.

I've been to most of the Japanese Steakhouse's in the area, and I put this one at the bottom of the list. I went on a Saturday night, so maybe that was partly to blame for some of the issues we had, but there were lots of kinks from the time we arrived. Typically when my wife and I get Japanese we go with friends, and this trip was no different. When we arrived one the first things my friends said to us was "if you want a drink you better get in line now because it takes forever" Apparently they waited about 15 minutes to get served at the bar. After the warning, I decided I would just wait until we were seated before I ordered a drink. We got seated around 8:00 for our 7:30 reservation, and when were seated the server asked us to sit closer together. There were six of us, and they needed to squeeze in another party of four. One of the people in our party ended up eating from the corner of the table because things we so tight. Soon after straightening out the seating arrangements I started to notice a cold breeze blowing down from above. The ventilation system for the grill was obviously not working correctly. The air coming at everyone at the table was very cold - likely blowing in from the roof. At that point I was almost wishing I had brought my jacket along. It took about ten minutes for a waitress to show up and get our drink order, and ten minutes later when the drinks arrived, my straw had a large hole in it. When has that ever happened to you? Rather than wait another 10 minutes for a straw, I went to the bar and grabbed another myself. It was around 9:00 (an hour after being seated) that the main course was being cooked in front of us. Our server was excellent, he was very entertaining, and gave a nice squirt of sake to some of the people we were sitting with. It was also a nice touch that we all got noodles with our meal - most places just offer rice. But while my food was cooked well, my wife's steak was considerably overcooked With no sign of our waitress around to take a second drink order I decided to just go to the bar to buy my second round. Again, after returning to the table I noticed my straw had a big hole in it. I'm guessing those straws were made in China or something. Anyways, I was let down that we never saw the waitress again after the first drink order until she delivered the check - well over an hour later. We had a 15% off coupon that did make the night a little more palatable once the bill came. This place has only been open a couple months, so maybe they are still working out the kinks, but next time I want Japanese I think I'm headed back to Kyoto in Tewksbury.

I Love this place. I have only done the Hibachi as my wife and I don't eat sushi. I have been here several times with friends and it is always a good time. the bar makes some pretty good (read: Strong) drinks and the food is very flavorful. They to the traditional hibachi stuff like the onion volcano and throwing food into your mouth. there is a good selection for Hibachi. The calamari is my new favorite however, and make sure to get the pork fried rice. they make it right in front of you. Cheers

When choosing a Japanese Hibachi-Style Steakhouse, there really are only three things that are important: 1) Quality of the Food 2) Quantity of the Food and 3) Quality of your Hibachi Cook Oh and who could forget...Japanese Steakhouses generally have sushi, so I suppose I will have to fit that in at some point as well... As Hibachi is generally thought of as an "entertainment" meal, it is very hard to find hibachi style dinners without the "entertainment" factor somewhere in the restaurant. In that, entertainment should be one of the top three priorities for a hibachi-enabled restaurant! All of the Hibachi cooks make great food, although we will get to the "quality" part later. The cooks I've had are always been very "allergy" friendly and have always been smart about cleaning off the grill and cooking food for allergy-ridden people first. No one has died as of yet...at least in my groups anyway. The last thing you want to see at hibachi is someone who just comes out and cooks the food. If I wanted boring, I would get regular food at a regular place. Luckily, none of their cooks are like this. Each one always does, at the very least, the "same-ol'-bit" that you will see everywhere else. The only problem with this place is the lack of cooks who give that "little extra". I've had one or two that were above par, but there is really only one that takes the cake. Jimmy is the man. That's right... the mutha elfin MAN! If you are going to go here, call ahead for a table and tell them you want Jimmy. Otherwise, save yourself the time and go grab your hibachi elsewhere or just stop in for the amazing all-you-can-eat sushi. #2 I have been to Nana numerous times and the Hibachi is always very tasty with enough food on your plate to make most people happy. Me, I'm not most people, so will generally need (and want) to grab a sushi app with my hibachi entree. If I'm feeling particularly hungry, I may even go that one further and snag a traditional app as well. The plates always end up full, don't get me wrong... but something about japanese food always leaves room for that little bit extra. I'm one for the extra and with the amazing sushi plates and traditional apps, I generally can't help myself. #1 The quality of Nana is pretty damn good. They always have fresh meats and fish, the cooks are always very clean and the food always comes out tasting good, unlike some places that will make you feel slightly greasy when you leave. Overall I'd give the quality here a 4/5. Sushi: The sushi buffet is pretty amazing in many ways. Usually, when hitting a sushi buffet, you find everything to be covered in rice. Rice, rice, rice, rice rice...why? Because it makes you full and makes them more money! Not here. Nana gives perfect proportions between your fish and your rice and continues to give great size cuts of sashimi as well. Added to this, you can get appetizers, deserts, and much more on the "all you can eat" menu checklist. The fish is very fresh and they have a lot of great "special" rolls. Overall, I give here a 4/5 star.

just got back from the place tonight. the food was very good and is definately better than all the sushi buffets i've been to. it is made to order so this is what makes the quality better. you can chose to either order off from the menu or all you can eat. all you can eat, you have sashimi, sake, sushi, appetizer, and dessert. my bf and i both were stuffed and are very happy w/ the quality of food and the choices. must try are the green tea and red bean ice creams even if you are not a dessert fan (like me and my bf) they are sosooso yummy! the shrimp tempura's great and so is the house salads. sushi is pretty fresh and the rolls are very delicous. must try!!!

Been a while since I wrote a review but I felt that 7 Nana deserved one right away. It was our first time there but it was recommended by a friend who told us about the all you can eat meal. My wife and I went there today about 5 pm and was seated at a table for two near the sushi bar. Good time to go because when we left just before 7 pm it was crowded with some people in the waiting area. We were very pleased with the service and the food. Friendly atmosphere as the Teppanyaki crowds had occasional uproars of laughter and surprise. There was also a Bar with stools and a counter with seating directly in front of the sushi bar (but below a little bit so you are not eye to eye with them and their work). There was also another seating area in the back but we didn't venture to see what was back there. Perhaps a private dining area for large gatherings? We did indeed order the all you can eat meal. $21.95 each (weekend dinner rate), it's 19.95 during the week. We tried so many things from Shrimp Tempura, Vegetable Tempura, Fried Squid (Calamari), Beef Teryaki, Spicy Salmon Sushi, SpicyTuna Sushi, Albacore Nigiri Sushi, Yellowtail Nigiri Sushi, Kamikaze Roll, Sexy Girl Roll, Crazy Roll, Pepper Tuna. Topped it off with Fried Bananas and Fried Oreos. Meal also included a tokkuri of Hot Sake for each of us (but we did have to ask for it halfway through the meal as they did not offer it to us. We agreed that our favorite items were: PEPPER TUNA: slightly seared pepper tuna. If you don't eat beef, this is about the closest thing you could come to the most tender steak you could find. Fantastic! CRAZY ROLL: salmon ,tuna ,red snapper ,crab meat, entire roll deep fried briefly (I think it is lightly battered) to get a tender crunch on the outside and the fish cooked a little on the inside. Excellent! We both drank water as carbonation fills one up to fast and bloats you... don't want to pay a good price to get filled up on air! :) It was so much better than that crappy all you can eat japanese buffet in Natick. 7 Nana is 10x better, might as well make that 1,000,000X better because I would never eat at Minado again (see my review for that experience to forget). Our bill came to $46 & change. Gave the waitress a full tip because it was full service, THAT'S RIGHT, everything is served to you.... all you can eat. You just fill out the endless convenient paper order forms and put on the end of your table. They pick it up and serve the food to you, no waiting in line like livestock to get food that has been sitting there, and having to battle grandma over the last piece of salmon. 7 Nana's food is made to order and brought to your table. Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone else about this gem though, it's a secret. We'll be back, and very soon! Thanks for reading. *Disclaimer: This is MY opinion of MY experience at this place. I may not be an expert what other's like, but I am am damn well an expert on what I like.

The quality of the fish and rice were excellent, but there was no gluten free soy sauce or any green tea. I ordered green tea but actually was served a variant of it called, "Houji-cha" in Japanese. The all you can eat buffet sushi was a good deal for the price however, the sushi chef didn't put any wasabi in the sushi.

I really enjoy the sushi buffet which also include some kitchen food as well. It is a very limited menu so don't be expecting all these kinds of dishes. If you're into sake, you get one free bottle of sake with the sushi buffet. The important way is to order small dishes and then ask for more or otherwise they may forget some items. Don't order everything at once as you will be charged for leftover food. For sushi/sashimi I recommend the pepper tuna and toriko. The toriko (sashimi one) is served in cucumber slices which is very refreshing from its sushi counterpart. Try out the rolls, but it's mostly tuna so I wouldn't get too many. Don't get the rice ball, I found it mushy, but hey if you're into mushy food then by all means go for it. For kitchen foods I enjoyed the soups, miso and spicy seafood, and the apps. The beef tar tar was good. I didn't really like the noodle dishes at all. They were favor-less and maybe instant at best. The ice cream, green tea and red bean, was pretty good. The pineapple was canned so I wouldn't really get it unless you need to something to help you digest. I've always gone before the rush hours, so I haven't experienced any poor service. They have always been quick and attentive to our table so it may be best to go before or after the rush.

Continuing my sushi kick the ladyfriend and I decided to get the all you can eat deal and step into a sushi coma for the evening. I can't say anything anyone else hasn't said here. I just felt like I was stealing, getting all of their specialty sushi for such a low price. I definitely ate way more than my $20 worth. The offerings were awesome, staff was friendly and attentive, and from where we were sitting we could watch the hibachi entertainment as well (need to go back there for that sometime, too). Totally worth the drive for some tasty sushi and good times. - Uncle Juggsy pointed at the menu and said, "Yes"

I am not sure how anyone can stand this place. I have went to this place twice and ordered takeout once. Both times I ate in, I tried the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi. I couldn't help myself even though such AYCE deals tend to be notorious for sub-par fish. Knowing this, I set my expectations low. And I was still disappointed both times, getting what I can only assume was food poisoning both times. The only reason I went back was because the people I was living with at the time were all sick the weekend I first went there. Having assumed that to have been the cause of the first illness (too optimistic? probably), I tried it again. And got sick again. Now, as to the takeout, that was after both eat-in instances (must be a masochist), but I ordered only a miso soup and a vegetable tempura. They got the order wrong, giving me some kind of eel roll and a shrimp tempura roll. At least they remembered the miso. Having ordered it on my way home and it being late, I did not even bother to call or do anything upon arriving home. The miso was sub-par even by takeout standards and I did not even try the rolls due to previous experience. So ... if you want to pay upwards of $30 (for food, tea or drink, and tip) to get poisoned, this is your place.

Went here today for probably the 4th time. I kept thinking I was ordering the wrong food. Last visit I swore I would never go again because the service completely sucks. We waited almost an hour after ordering our food to receive it last time. Today's trip will be the last. My wife, best friend and I were out finishing up some last minute Christmas shopping. My wife wants Sushi so we were going to head to Bamboo in Bedford, MA for the buffet. It was too late to catch the buffet there so Nana's was the next closest place. My bud and I both don't really like this place too much. To begin with our previous experiences here have been filled with less than average, over priced entrees that you wait forever for. My wife on the other hand enjoys the sushi here. So, as we walk in we notice a sign stating "all you can eat sushi". This is perfect for my wife and seeing it's a special my buddy decides he's in as well. No worries, the noodles here are alright and I can make due with those. After those two order their food I ordered a side dish of noodles. I was told that I couldn't order noodles, I had to order an entree. You're joking right? Nope, anyone at the table not eating the "all you can eat" sushi has to order an entree (see the pic I posted). I told him I wasn't hungry, I wouldn't be eating, instead of the noodles don't bring me anything. He explained that my wife and buddy couldn't get the all you can eat sushi if I didn't order an entree. Veins are starting to pop out of my forehead at this point. My wife and bud have already turned in the scratch pad of a sushi order so I need to do something besides walk out. Alright, fine I'll take one of the specials of the day you have posted (another picture posted). The response "Sorry sir, it needs to be an entree from the menu". At this point my eye balls are starting to roll back in my head and had I been alone I would have walked out. Not to cause trouble for the folks who were eating I ordered a $19 entree. This particular entree came with soup & salad, rice, noodles, chicken, shrimp and vegetables. The problem is, I've had this entree before and it sucks, I wouldn't feed it to my dog. So I didn't eat a bit of it. When he came back around he asked if I would like it packed up. My response "Please just throw it away". Any other restaurant this would trigger an "Was something wrong" but not here. Nope, he gladly took the food and threw it away. No manager to see what the problem was, no questions asked. $78 bucks for two plates of average sushi and an entree that got tossed in the trash. Don't think all you can eat means you can try new stuff. Nope, if you don't clear your plate because you don't like the taste of it, they charge you for the pieces you leave behind (see the photo I posted). I'd give this place a zero if I could. The service is horrible, the food is less than average and you get bullied into eating stuff you don't want.

I love this place. We have so many of our friends hooked. We frequent there often. The sushi is amazing. You must try the pepper tuna. You'll never have anything like it. The rolls are fantastic. They change their menu often and add more options. We usually do the all you can eat (table service) sushi. It is an outstanding deal. We always get the dinner all you can eat menu. It has a lot more options for just a few extra dollars. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

Since Nana opened, for us it has become a staple for local dining out. It is a pleasure to see such a good restaurant succeed in this location, which is not prime for visibility and unfortunately has seen a succession of Asian restaurants try and fail. Nana seems here to stay. The teppan hibachi grill lending the "Japanese Steakhouse" name is in my opinion actually not Nana's strongest suit. Not that it's bad. Tasty food, prepared with the show you expect. They have what to me is an odd practice of including both rice and noodles. That's a lot of carbos that I don't always want, and I'd prefer more emphasis on veggies. You will not go away hungry -- but I don't always want to go away that full. Where Nana really shines is their regular dining, hidden behind the showy teppan dining area. The sushi menu is extensive and I've always found it to be top notch. The menu also includes a variety of other entrees including expected tempura and teriyaki dishes, as well as some excellent soba and udon noodle options, and more. Do not neglect appetizers. The beef tatake is to die for. At lunchtime, bento boxes are a tasty and economical sampler. Several VIP "tatame" rooms are available at the rear for more intimate dining for small groups.

I have eaten here a few times and have enjoyed it very much. The food is fresh and made to order. I've never been a fan of any other types of soup in such a restaurant besides wonton and egg-drop soup, but they more than make up for the soup by having a great selection of apps. including tempura shrimp and my favorite, tempura vegetables. They DO have a slight tendancy to forget items you have ticked off on your "buffet" list but with being to order as much as you want, it's definitely NOT a deal breaker of any kind. Just writing this makes me crave the spicy tuna maki :)

A solid 4 star restaurant! I was expecting not so great sushi from a sushi buffet; however, I was pleasantly pleased with the quality of it. This place is way better than Minado's of Natick. All sushi and fried items are made to order. For nearly $20, your all-you-can-eat meal includes appetizers, sushi, dessert, warm sake and tea for everyone, as well other small cooked food items such as udon and katsu. Not only do they have maki, but there are numerous kinds of sashimi and different daily specials. Things I was disappointed by included the many items they forgot to bring us that we ordered. It was also difficult to gauge what was just forgotten as opposed to on its way. We waited for quite a while between large dishes of sushi. This wait could be improved. I also noticed some items were grouped together because they were cooked items, while all raw items were together. This may have lead to items being forgotten. I was also disappointed that there were no scallop items on the menu. I also noticed that there are no scallop items on the regular menu either. I understand scallop is a big expense, but it would definitely make this trip worth my while! As I was leaving, there were quite a few 20 somethings (probably from the area) hanging out at the small bar area. They had quite an extensive drink menu. I will definitely go back! It's great for those days you just want to eat LOTS of sushi and don't want to break the bank. If you are going for anything besides the sushi buffet, be sure to print the coupons on the website. They do not apply to the sushi buffet though. FYI- they do not accept AMEX.

The all-you-can-eat-sushi is worth it. Just be sure to order a little at a time, as your eyes can be bigger than your stomach. If you have leftovers, you can be charged. We absolutely LOVED the Sexy Girl and Volcano Roll. The sushi and sashimi was fresh and we enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back. The group in the hibachi room seemed to be having an absolute blast and we heard stories of sake being poured into the mouths of willing volunteers of age. Deep fried oreos and red bean ice cream topped off the night. Honestly, I thought red beans and ice cream had no business being in the same bowl together. However they made this concoction, it actually does work. Not my favorite flavor ever, but I'd order it again.

I paid a visit to Nana tonight as I was looking for a new place for sushi, and Nana came on the top of google search. I went for their $21.95 all-you-can-eat dinner sushi and I have to say my experience was mixed. I had better luck with the sushi. Some of the dishes, such as the maki and dancing eel roll, are actually pretty good. The maki was fried fresh and just the right crispiness. The dancing eel rolls are the right mix of ingredients that gives a nice mixture of taste. Some other more common rolls, however, are obviously not made on the spot and the seaweed and the rice wrap tasted dry and hard. My guess is that those were probably leftovers from the morning or even the night before. The sashimi, however, is not sth. I would recommend. I ordered 5 sashimi varieties (with 1 piece each order btw), and it is far from the freshest sashimi I have tasted. The pieces were so small that I almost thought they gave me the wrong order. I was not sure they were sashimi alone or some fish pieces fallen off the sushi rice, so I asked the waitress over to double check. And finally the salmon skin salad. Too much soy sauce and vinegar, so it's too salty and sour, and the greens are not really fresh. Overall I would say the food is so so. Not great but I have seen worse. I would have given them 3 stars for the food, had they not charged for soda refills. I ended up paying $6 for 3 glasses of coke and the glasses they use are much smaller than other restaurants. So my overall suggestion is that if you are looking for quality sushi or value for the money, Nana is not the place for you. If you really don't have other places to go, then maybe you can give it a try, just to see if you have better luck than me. For myself, I don't think I will return to Nana again.

**barf!! As sushi lovers, this place major failed! Omg, the rolls are stuffed with rice, avocado & cucumbers it's disgusting. Gee hook us up with some more seafood! The tempura shrimp is pretty good only b.c....! I'm picky with my shrimps and I love my shrimp fat. But the tempura is salty and the tempura sauce is yuccky! The sauce tastes like watered down soy sauce. If I go here I'll prob just order 100 salmon sashimi and miso soup. Wait nvm, should I order salmon sashimi? A fishbone almost sliced my throat

I went for lunch one day to scope it out before committing to their "all you can eat sushi" deal for $25. I wanted to make sure I was getting quality stuff. Unfortunately, our maki rolls were below average. The rolls were skimpy, fish was ok, but I've had way better. My husband and I both agree that we wouldn't want to gorge on their sushi, and we love sushi/sashimi/maki. The service there wasn't great either. The waitress kept hovering over us when we first sat down. We had our toddler with us, so we needed to get her situated, and then look over the menu. She was at our table every two minutes, even though we told her we needed time. After we ordered, and our lunch was brought, she rarely came back to the table to check on us. We likely won't go again, unless some friends want to check out the hibachi.

We went for a friend's birthday celebration. The whole table got the all-you-can-eat sushi. It was a little expensive, but the food was good and plentiful. I can recommend the fried rice ball. It's large, filled with spicy tuna and some other stuff. The peppered tuna is also excellent. I found the sushi to be fresh and good... not the best sushi I've ever had, but still very good, especially since you could just keep ordering what you wanted from the all-you-can-eat menus. If you tell your primary server that it's your birthday you'll get some free fried ice cream. Also, if you go for dinner you can get some free sake.

I visited for my first trip with coworkers. I wanted to introduce them to my favorite Japanese dish, Katsudon. While the presentation was good, it was not what you would expect for this dish. The sauce, if there was any, contained no soy sauce and definitely no morin or other sweeteners to give it the typical taste you typically get with Katsudon. The egg was poached where you would normally have the egg slightly scrambled and cooked over the pork in the sauce that didn't exist with this dish. Needless to say, we were all disappointed. To be fair, the presentation was excellent. There were veggies in the rice bowl(not typical of Katsudon) that were fresh. The attempt by the chef to present this nicely cannot be overlooked. I can only figure that he/she did not know what Katsudon really should be. I give this restaurant 2 stars for presentation and cleanliness. Service was nothing other than ordinary. If you want a Japanese steakhouse with correct atmosphere, try Takumi in Nashua. If you want authentic Katsudon, Takumi has it for lunch certain days. You You Japanese Bistro has it as well. Both are excellent and their service is great as well.

Can I give this place a zero? Tried this place not too long ago and it was disgusting. First, my glass of soda have this nasty sticky looking white residue on the inside. I scraped it off with my straw cause I was curious to figure out what it was. The waitress was terrible, she never smile and when she brought out my soup she had her freakin thumb dipped in it from the way she's holding the bowl. I was horrified but I didnt want to make a big fuss. so I didnt get to eat my soup. The lunch plate which was from the hibachi was a pile of tasteless sloppy mess. All I taste is butter and it was so oily i only took a few bites. Overall a terrible experience. save your money and go somewhere else where servers actually know how to handle serving properly without touching your food.

I have been here multiple times, probably more than 5 times. The Sushi Buffet is so worth it compared to Minado. I have been to one lunch buffet and all the other times it was for dinner. It was my birthday when I first came here with a group of my friends. The lunch buffet is $15.95 and dinner cost $21.95. Of course the lunch price is better off compared to the dinner price. But I wouldn't hold back just because its $21.95. If you love sushi you should give this buffet a try because they have many different types of rolls of sushi. They also have special rolls that you can order. Aside from the sushi rolls there are also appetizers you can choose along with desert at the end of your meal. If I can recall correctly they have red bean, green tea, and vanilla flavored ice cream. They also have fried Oreo ice cream too, it is delicious however my friends discovered the Oreo is not the actual brand Oreo cookies, it was stop & shop brand cookies. lol Other then the food, the service is moderate. The first time was the worst but it got better as we visited more and more. Before, there were too many waiters and waitresses bringing out our dishes and when we asked them what the roll is called they had no idea. But after the next few visits, the service got better and there were definitely less waiters/waitresses. Even though their service did get better, it isn't considered good enough on my list. That's why I am rating this restaurant a three. Some people probably think that's nuts, but I don't let the service stop me from going there and eating ordering the buffet. Overall, I will continue to visit and eat at Nana's because I love the sushi. i recommend to all sushi lovers to give this restaurant a try.

We stuffed ourselves on great sushi at the buffet and I enjoyed some great Maitai's and got a kick watching the sake shots at the hibachi tables. Lots of laughs in the restaurant. Really an awesome vibe....Overall a great value for sushi since my biggest gripe with sushi is that I always have to spend a lot and still feel hungry leaving... but not here! I will definitely be back again and probably soon since my wife is a huge sushi lover and is always looking for an excuse to go out and grab some

coming out of retirement to write some reviews starting with 7nana. i feel only 5% of reviews have useful info for a person like myself. i just like to eat and don't care if the waitstaff kisses my a$$ or if there are marble table and gold plated toilets. i'm all about numbers. quality, quanity and price of food. cheapest sushi buffet i've found ma. 15.95 for lunch and 21.95 for dinner (23.95 fri + sat). i've only gone to the lunch buffet so i can only comment on that. i put away 20++ pieces of nigiri, a shrimp tempura roll, gyoza, and a miso soup. could have surely ate more, but needed to flee someplace else. place was easy to find, right in a strip mall. there wasn't a "hostess" in the front so i went right in and sat myself at the sushi bar. place is pretty big. you order off the the checklist they have at the bar. seems like the menu is a little restricted vs what you would get on the dinner buffett, but still not a bad variety. the pieces of nigiri are on the smaller side, but it's a buffet, so you can order more than one ;) they have some apps/fried rice/soups/ice cream on the menu as well, so that came as a nice surprise. quality of sushi was ok. miso soup...eh. intangibles: don't think any of the workers are japanese. seems like a common trend nowadays. they are not fluent in english if that matters, but they do keep on dishing out the food. definiately can't complain for what you're getting for the price. would repeat again like a stutterer, stutterer. quality of food - 3.5 stars value - 5 stars intangibles - 2.5 stars

I go here more often than I'd like to admit. The all you can eat sushi deal they offer works out well for the group I usually go with. Everyone can order what they want, there's no confusion about the bill, the place is lively and the sushi is tasty. I've also never had to wait for a table, which is nice. If you are a purist and are anti sauce/tempura/spicy mayo, then you should probably go somewhere else. I really like the sexy girl roll and the crazy roll. And the fried oreos. Yum. The hibachi part is pretty standard as those go. I always feel bad staring at the guy while he cooks, so I tend to avoid it, but the fried rice is really good.

This place was mediocre at best when I tried it a few months ago, the quality has decreased even more since my last time there. I know it's a buffet, and wasn't looking for top quality. We just wanted some tasty food to fill our growling bellies on a Friday night. "Seaweed salad" had 3 strands of seaweed and the rest of the plate filled with white shredded white radish. If you ran out, just say so- but shame on you if you're just being plain cheap. Sushi was so bland and flavorless, and there were rolls on it we didn't even order. Sashimi wasn't the freshest, but edible. Filled with way more veggies than necessary. Are you just trying to fill us up, so we don't order more things? Not worth it for the price or the drive. Free bottle of sake was the highlight of our dinner. What a disappointment.

I have never tried the hibachi, and I never plan on doing it, either. They have an all-you-can-eat sushi menu during the week. It's about $20-$22 and the selection is fantastic. You get sake with it, and all the appetizers and desserts you want. It's probably the best deal for sushi I've ever seen. The sushi is of good quality and it generally doesn't take too long for it to come out. I'd highly recommend this place.

Discount sushi! There is nothing to be more wary of than discount sushi in the food department. I wonder if they said "old sushi" or "cheap sushi" would people still be going there. Now if you are looking for quantity rather than quality than this place is for you. Price wise, you can get a bang for you buck no doubt. Quality is not too good. Again its all you can eat sushi which is something to be wary of because they are basically throwing money away and buying food in bulks, in sacrifice of quality. The raw fish of the sushi I got was pretty chewy. Raw fish should melt in your mouth and the fish was probably old. Chicken terryiyaki and noodles were overcooked and presentation was sloppy. it looked like they just threw it on to the plate. Service was not the greatest. We had to go up to the waitress to get our menu. Plates and utencils were dirty. Other tables were not set up all night. The plates and utensils were all over the place and guest. Why does this matter? Well cleaning plates and setting up tables is easy. Imagine what else they take care of here. The most important part is that there was a huge group of guys that were extremely loud and were disrupting everyone in the room. Again if you don't care for quality then thise place is good. All you can sushi! if you are looking for damn good sushi then head up to Oiishi in the south end, or Oh Ya! where the chef was a James Beard nominee for best chef northeast

The former home of a mediocre Chinese buffet turns into Japanese steakhouse. I was skeptical at first, but after my first visit there, I was hooked. The sushi and entrees are worth five stars, but the hibachi cuisine failed to impress me, so I had to knock it down a star. But don't let that be a deterrent from trying this place out. I LOVE the sushi here. The other night I found myself with an undeniable craving and went here to dine alone in the bar area. I'm not one of those people who is comfortable dining alone, so you know it's good sushi for me to actually go and sit awkwardly by my lonesome. (My self-consciousness eventually got the best of me and I called a friend who came to join me for a drink.) There are a lot of specialty rolls, but they are a bit pricey, so I tend to stick to the simpler ones. Spicy tuna and spicy salmon are phenomenal. I washed these down with a mai tai, which was very tasty. Not nearly as potent as the ones served at Jade Pacific down the street, but much more palatable. They also do scorpion bowls for one. My friend had the key lime martini which he thoroughly enjoyed. Hibachi cuisine, no matter what it is, always tastes the same to me for whatever reason. However, I will say that the hibachi chefs are very entertaining and humorous to watch. The flaming onion volcano never gets old. The staff here are very friendly and the prices fairly reasonable. I did a quick comparison of the sushi prices here to several places in Lowell and I found them to be the least expensive. Note I did not say it was cheap. My three sushi rolls and two drinks set me back a little over $30, but were well worth it. For me, the pricing gets $$, but one could very easily make it a $$$ night.

Sushi is nice in town. The all u can eat is worth it. Recommend the Oreo tempura! Squid was not fresh when I had it. Eel and other normal fishes were fresh.

My friend and I went here on a Saturday night and were a little skeptical because we love our sushi and didn't know much about this place. We decided to get the all you can eat sushi. I had the lobster puffs and seafood soup for appetizers which were very very good. The puffs were basically crab rangoons but with lobster instead. The seafood soup was full of seafood. For sushi rolls i had eel, squid, octopus, banana, uni, red sox special roll, and salmon tempura roll. I think I had something else as well but I couldn't remember what it was. They had a lot to choose from. I was satisfied with everything and felt very full. The service was quick and friendly. The price was a great deal. It was loud because of the Hibachi tables but understandably so. I would definitely come back again and would recommend this place to any sushi lover.

Nana 7 is a great time while you eat! The hibachi grill has excellent chefs that entertain you while cooking a wonderful meal! The portions are huge and they have reasonable prices. Also has super fresh and delicious sushi for all the sushi lovers!

If we set the expectations right, I think this place is good. I went twice and both time I did the all-you-can-eat sushi buffet with a group. Last time I went with 3 other girls, we all ate a very decent amount of sushi and sashimi, they were very fresh and tasty. As usual, we got the free warn sake as well. We tried something from the kitchen, they were good as well, and the ribs were pretty impressive. I have not tried ordering food separately because this is the buffet place in my mind. To be honest, I saw a lot of people here annoyed by their policy that everyone in the table has to order the buffet or if some order the buffet, the others need to do entree. It sounds harsh but I think it makes total sense when I really think about it. We order the all-you-can-eat from a check list instead of go out to a buffet stable to pick out the food. You can keep ordering until you are full. The food comes in one or two big serving plates for presentation so people in the table share from the plate instead of each having their own orders. In such circumstances, if someone in the table is allowed to order something rather than a standard set of entree or the buffet, how can the restaurant guarantees that the person won't cheat and share the buffet food that other people ordered? Just to be fair to the restaurant, I guess.

I will state the only reason why I wouldn't go here is if I was on a diet and had a hankering for sushi, other than that it was great. I was in the mood to find a new place for sushi and came across this place. The food was great but the was a lot of the usual spicy mayo in everything. Everything tasted fresh and I love their Volcano role but the mayo was over powering at times.

I went to Nana 7 with high hopes, but left feeling robbed. I went for the sushi buffet around 4 pm on a Friday, which apparently translates to the "weekend" price. Prices were not advertised anywhere, neither on the website or the menu (if they were we probably would have left), and when I called ahead of time I was told it would be $16.95. However, for the mediocre quality of the sushi and the more limited sushi buffet menu, $25 was too much. We couldn't have eaten $50 worth if we had paid the regular price of each roll and appetizer we ordered, and most of them I would never order again. The best roll we had was just the regular spicy tuna maki; everything else was definitely below-average, and the fact that they make you pay extra for uneaten food adds more unpleasantness, since not everything we ordered was good (especially the seaweed salad, which wasn't fresh). I would not recommend this place for the sushi at all; it's overpriced for the quality, and the only time it MIGHT be worth going is for lunch on a weekday.

Nana is my favorite place. If you get Jimmy as your chef you are sure to have a amazing dinner and time. If you get one of the others it's pretty much a crap shoot. The others simply are not as good. A few other chefs are decent, but a few are really not that good. To ensure you get the best make your reservation with a minimum of 6 in your party and request Jimmy and they will accommodate your request.

I just wanted to update my review of the Nana. I went last night with a group of friends and the S.O. and had a perfect experience. Nothing went wrong and everything was delicious. I felt that warranted an upgrade to 5 star status. Nana Japanese Steakhouse is now, and forevermore, a favorite.

Have had sushi here on several occasions and it has been consistently good each time. Generous sashimi portions too. On one occasion, the waiter noticed that I had not eaten my tako (not my fave) and he replaced it at no charge with some yellowtail! Great service, and cordial staff. Would definitely go again.

I love travel and I love food, especially Japanese food, every place I go, I have to look for Japanese restaurant, I tried a lot of different place in NY and NJ, but Nana is the best I ever had, the sushi is fresh, it is very important, you don't want to get sick after you eat. And I love Hibachi, not only the food, but also the way the chief cooking in front of you. The decorations for Nana is good too, make me feel that I am really in Japan. The Price is reasonable as well, strongly recommend it.

Thank god for Yelp because without it I doubt anyone would have heard of this fantastic Japanese steakhouse tucked away in a strip mall in Billerica, a town not exactly known for its fine dining...not known for much of anything actually. I could say you should come here if you are passing through on your way to somewhere else but I'm not going to. I'm going to tell you that this place is worth a real direct trip all the way to Billerica. I am serious. I live all the way in Brighton and even I would make the drive. What makes it so great? I think the best part is the entertainment. The chef we had was SO FREAKING FUNNY. OMG. I probably choked about four different times because I was laughing so hard at his antics. Get the steak and you get "moo moo" noises, chicken gives you chicken sounds. Be prepared for the "sake sake" which will be pointed at your face from a squeeze bottle. You will be obliged to open your mouth and chug chug chug until you spit up all over yourself because damn that sake tastes just like turpentine. I probably wouldn't wear my dry clean only items here as sake and bits of food will be flung at you at random moments. The hilarity is the highlight but the food and drinks are excellent as well. They carry a large assortment of tropical cocktails along with the standard flavored martini options. All come complete with fruit garnish. The food is a tad on the pricey side for the grill entrees but I promise you it's worth it for the entertainment factor. It is also quite delicious. Best drink: SAKE SAKE BOMB! Do it. Seriously just do it. Even if you hate Sapporo beer and you hate sake. It is really really fun. DO IT. All in all the most FUN I've had at dinner in a long time.

Ok look, here is the deal. You wait 20 minutes for drinks, I'm going to give you two stars. You wait 40 extra minutes for the food, and I'm going to give you two stars. After finally trying out the sushi, I can tell you it was average, nothing intergalactic. Look, I know what a Mai Tai should taste like and I know that this place is somewhat new, so I'm going to give it a shot at another point. But frankly, they need to get their service on point, otherwise I drive down to Yokohama for the real deal. Will be back with an update..

Definitely not going back. First lets start with the good news. We ate at Nana on a Saturday night. It was quite busy and we had reservations for our party of 8 at 7pm. My friend and his family arrived on time, I was 15 minutes late. They had not been seated yet when we arrived, phew. I waited for a few minutes and it didn't look like any parties were going to get up soon so I went to the bar to get drinks. The bar was busy but not mobbed. Two bartenders were working making all of the drinks for the bar and the tables. They were a little backed up. I had to wait a good 15 minutes before the bartender took my order. A guy next to me came to the bar well after I did and the bartender took his drink order first. I find this very annoying but it can be a little difficult to keep track of who is next. I placed my order and a couple minutes later they still had not yet started making my drinks. About this time our table was ready so I just left and figured I'de order my drinks from the table. At the table I ordered my drink and it did take a while but it finally arrived. My friends Sake didn't arrive until we were eating. Anyway, I ordered the steak/lobster/calamari. The food was delicious and the kids really enjoyed the chef catching an egg in his hat and his pocket. He also gave the adults sake shots out of a ketchup bottle by squirting a stream of sake directly in your mouth. He had a plastic figure of a boy with his pants pulled down that squirted water in the kids mouth. They got a big kick out of that. I highly recommend paying the upcharge to get the fried rice. Nothing beats fresh hot fried rice made in front of you. The calamari was very garlicy but good. The steak was tender hot and delicious. Both the steak and the lobster had a lot of sesame flavor from the seeds and/or sesame oil but it was good. Up to this point it was a very enjoyable evening despite the wait. Now the bad news. We were all stuffed and many of us took a good portion of our food home but I had read about the desserts in a couple reviews. We were interested in seeing the dessert menu to top off the dinner. The server replied that there was no dessert menu all they had was fried ice cream. When she told us this she had one of those expressions or mannerisms where you know something is not right, basically she was lying. I didn't really think much of it and told her we'll take a couple orders of fried ice cream. She came back a minute or two later and said they didn't have fried ice cream either and she dropped off the check. Thats fine, I really don't need the calories anyway. We gave her two credit cards and she left to run them. While we were waitng to get the check back the manager comes over in not a friendly way to KICK US OUT!. He said there is a forty five minute limit clearly indicated on the menu and we had been there 1.5 hours. The really weird part was we ate fast and didn't dilly-dally in any way. Really we couldn't have gone any faster. The credit card receipt was time stamped 8:38. I don't know exactly when we were sat but I know I arrived late at 7:15 and after standing around then going to the bar and waiting at least 15 minutes for no drink there is no possible way we were sat before 7:30. The real time we were sat is probably closer to 7:35 or 7:40pm. So when he claims we were there 1.5 hours he must have been calculating off the reservation time. Now things start to go downhill further. My friend and I look at each other finding it hard to believe this guy could be so unaware of what was going on. We clearly explained we were waiting on the restaurant for the check not the other way around. To complicate things further my friend had a coupon for $5 off each dinner. I guess it was an interenet coupon, I'm not sure of the details but they hadn't applied it properly. He reran the check with coupons applied. By now we were really annoyed at the attitude we were getting. Now the dessert thing is making sense, they had to flip the table and were running late hence "No dessert for you". My wife and I are both former servers and I fully understand how hard restaurant staff work. I hate to screw servers for things beyond their control. This fiasco was 100% caused by the manager, however, I can't let the tip go without some penalty. Parties of 8 or more have the tip automatically included in the bill. We want to change it. The manager refuses. I offer a compromise of reducing the automatic tip to half the amount. In the midst of all this a woman comes over to our table to yell at us. She was waiting for the table. The wives and kids are long gone over to starbucks. When we leave the restaurant they come back to pick us up. Someone threw eggs at my friends car. My friend is convinced it is the woman who was waiting for the table. I had thought it must have been a restaurant employee. Who has eggs sitting around to throw at people?

Never again I will go to this place. I was expecting nice and cozy atmosphere with a possibility to dine in the tatami room. When we got to the restaurant, it looked like a big cafeteria. We couldn't sit in the tatami area, because you need prior reservation, even though that whole area was empty. Table cloths were made out of plastic with the soy sauce residue stuck between the perforated pattern. The menu looked like it belonged to a cheap Chinese place. When my appetizer arrived the bottom of the place was very sticky and dirty. I lost my appetite right there. On the positive note, service was good and sushi were OK. That's why I give 2 stars.

I was surprised to see a Japanese steakhouse pop up so close to my home, and even more surprised at the quality of my experience! Not only is Nana the best tasting Japanese cuisine that I've had, but the entertainment was far and away the best I've seen! It really helps when the chef knows what they're doing! Like most Japanese restaurants, dinners range from $17-$22 (well worth it!), but heres a tip: Try the place out at lunchtime when plates are $9-$12 for a VERY comparable amount of food. So try it out! Its worth the ride and I will certainly be returning!
