Had takeout from here many times and attended one event they catered. My favorites are the pulled pork and sweet potato fries. I've had the ribs and a number of different sides, all were good-great. The Ribs have been consistent, meaty but not fatty, and the cornbread is moist and pleasantly sweet. I love the condiment bar, in particular the variety of barbeque sauces. I think they struggle with predicting how much food to have prepared so that it is always fresh, and not-over cooked. It is a delicate balance with food of this type. They need a consistent and predictable flow of customers to excel, and you can help them with that! The young man who waited on me recently was more than courteous. He was polite and well-informed, and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about his work and product. I hope this place continues to build a customer base, including for dine-in. The offer beer and wine, perfectly paired with their menu. They might consider adding table service if folks gave them the feedback that it made a difference.

We (a party of 8) went on a Saturday at 12:30. There was only one other party (of 2) in the restaurant when we arrived. We never received our jalapeno poppers and our salads arrived after the meal--without the requested dressings. (It was only after we went searching for the salads that we were told that they were out of spinach for one of them.) I also had to go searching for my Cuban sandwich, which arrived long after the other seven meals. There seemed to be no sense of urgency or the desire to want to be of service. The food was adequate but not worth the trouble to track it down.

semi decent bbq for new england. we ordered ribs, puled pork it came with cornbread, veggies and mashed potatoe bread- real good.... potatoes.- very good veggies- decent ribs st louis style- not anywhere near fall off the bone. the sauce was ok. not a lot of meat on ribs. itwas below average as far as i was concerned. the hot sauce they had was not very hot. I would not go back. blue ribbon is muchbetter in arlington. nice little restaurant but the food was ehhh... honestly when Burger king had ribs 2 months in the summer... their ribs were better

I so wish there were more good bbq restaurants in the area, but, alas, this one is not it. I had the burnt ends sandwich. Yep, they sure were burnt. Kinda crispy planks with no flavor other than char. They come unsauced, but there are a variety of sauces available. Unfortunately, all the sauces (except for the mustard & vinegar ones) tasted mostly like tinny tomato juice, so I couldn't use them to moisten my crunchy brisket (and, no, I'm not exaggerating when I say "crunchy"). In desperation, I cut up some pieces and dipped them in the way too sweet baked beans. No, still not good. I've had burnt ends in a variety of places, so I know what they're supposed to be like. This... this is not it. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich. Now, if you could get a bite without fat in it, the flavor wasn't bad. Getting a bite without fat, however, was a challenge. I actually felt a little queasy looking at just how fatty the meat was. Hubby ate about 2 bites, which if you knew how easy-going he is about food, you'd realize what a very bad sign that is. He did like his mac 'n cheese, although I thought it was curiously tasteless. I hate to be completely negative, so I'll say that the woman who took our order was very nice, the food came out pretty quickly, and it's a pleasant space. The food, though, was just bad.

This was our first time at Firebox and we were really impressed with how fresh and flavorful the food was. The prices are very reasonable. We especially liked the crabcake sandwich special which featured a large crabcake that was full of crab on a great roll with lettuce and tomato. The many bbq sauces have quite a range and are very flavorful especially the mustard and the mango. The bbq chicken had just the right amount of smokiness and spice. The sweet potato chunks were outstanding. And the live guitar music just added to the already laid-back, friendly atmosphere. We'll definitely be back soon.

Will this place hurry up and fail already?! Tonight I went against my best judgement (after 3 failed attempts) and ordered take out from Firebox BBQ. I swore this time would be different. Now, I'm not one of those "Massachusetts doesn't have good BBQ" kind of people, because there is some really decent BBQ in Mass and New England. But here's an honest, brief recap of my experience: Chicken - Pink & bloody (I know that chicken 'pinks' when cooked in a smoker, but...) this was borderline raw. There was way too much seasoning on the outside of the bird and none of it had penetrated the skin to actually flavor the bird... Mac & Cheese - Wimpy overcooked noodles, too much garlic, hardly any cheese, closer to garlic noodles than anything else... Mashed potatoes - Good, but way too much butter... Rice - Hard, cold, bland... Chili Cheese Fries - Overcooked, bland, fries, nasty chili, cheese sauce was basically a gelatinous cheese mold, and finally P.S.They forgot my cornbread. I may sound like a scorned customer, but I'm just fed up with this place. The food is comparable to Boston Market, and for these prices, you might as well go there. Who knows, 3 other businesses have failed in the last three years in this location, so maybe it's destined to fail. Sorry Firebox, I just call it how I see it.

I'm not really sure if this "BBQ establishment", and I use that term loosely, deserves any stars.Anyone who says this place is good is either lying or has never had real BBQ! First off, I'm a big BBQ fan and so I've given FireBox about 5 tries over the last two years. I'm officially done. Twice I have gotten all the way home and my corn bread is missing from the bag. The Food has always been terrible and on the edge of inedible. How can you serve a $16.00 two meat combo in a half sized Styrofoam container with sides all mixed together? This place is very expensive with small portions. On one occasion the pulled pork was good, must have been a fluke. The pulled pork from Stop and Shop has more flavor! A Chinese food restaurant has better ribs! I've tried over 30 BBQ restaurants and this one doesn't even belong on the list. I've always gone into Firebox with hopes of liking my food, but It's time I throw in the towel!
