O Yummy is a tiny place on Brighton Ave. Five or six tables, no seating at the sushi bar. What it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for with delicious sushi, sashimi and rolls. O Yummy feeds you good sushi at some of the lowest prices in the area, which is nice on a budget! The place is so small that the same young man has been the sole order-taker every time my husband and I have been there, a good dozen times by now. He's a nice fella, but sometimes forgets to bring the chop sticks & soy sauce, and you have to be proactive with him to get a water or drink refill -- it's not hard, he's only ten feet away at all times, so a wave will do. They seem to do a brisk take-out business, and this same fella is also in charge of taking phone orders, so he's pretty busy. Try not to go to the restroom. It's a cramped, dank-smelling single located behind a droopy black curtain that somebody rigged across the doorway to the back of the house, and once you pass that curtain, all semblance of order is dashed. They've got boxes and stuff piled back there, it's unpleasant and you'll want to be fast and get out. The curtain is the best they could do, I guess -- last time I went to grab the edge to part the curtain and found myself grasping hands with another person doing the same thing from the other side. Awkward. One odd thing about O Yummy is that the menu also features an assortment of Chinese dishes in addition to Japanese, and it never quite seems right. Crab rangoons, eggrolls, General Gau's Chicken? I don't know why they feel they need to expand into Chinese -- maybe because another "just sushi" place is located a few doors down. Seems odd. All told, we like it.

Bless you, O Yummy. You have helped to fill some of the Hoy Hing-shaped hole in my life (R.I.P.). I decided to try sating a Chinese craving with O Yummy after reading positive stuff from my fellow Yelpers. I've been routinely disappointed by Brighton Chinese places ever since Hoy Hing closed shop, so I was ready to be let down again. I am happy to report however, that O Yummy has lived up to its nifty name pretty well, and I have since placed a few orders here. I have tried the sesame chicken and General Gau's, both of which have good flavor. The daily specials come with a choice of crab rangoons or wings as appetizers (a bit limited for combo specials, IMHO), and so far I have only gotten the rangoons, which are tasty. The pork fried is serviceable if not mind-blowing. And for appetizers (which I usually order one of to put me over the delivery minimum), the egg rolls and beef teriyaki are also perfectly fine. Not the best I have ever had, but they are good enough to finish, and that puts them leaps and bounds ahead of other places I've tried in the area where I wound up throwing out at least half of everything. Like I said, I like it well enough that I've ordered from here a few times. They also give you a good amount of food for little money, which is always a plus. Bottom line: If you have a craving for some quick Chinese food, this is a great place to try!

This was by far the best sushi delivery deal I could find online - $10 minimum and no delivery fee! I ordered Veggie Miso Udon and a Crazy Roll. I thought it was delicious! The soup could maybe have used some more veggies and flavor but it was still very good. The sushi was so good - served in 5 large pieces. Delivery only took 40 minutes - I'll definitely be ordering my sushi and Chinese from here from now on.

Sushi is incredibly delicious and affordable- two things that often don't go hand in hand. Plus free delivery! Glad I took the risk and tried sushi from a place with a name like OYummy. Not a fan of American Chinese food, so I can't speak to any of the items on that menu.

I'm officially in love with this street comprised of 90% food and mostly hole in the wall! Japanese, Thai, Mexican, Pizza, Korean, repeat, repeat, repeat ... [end of street] We were hungry after a haircut and sushi always sounds great. The menu is super attractive to nerdies like us - Super Mario Maki? Yes. Batman Maki? YES! And of course, I had to go for that Sake Don for that pure raw flavor. The sushi is incredibly fresh. The batman maki - crunchy tempura flakes and spicy mayo (exquisite) mixed with raw salmon topped with pop-in-mouth tobiko was incredibly fresh and all the various textures, tastes and sensations fought in my mouth (can I make the metaphor of it being like batman fighting the villains?) The super mario with mushroom (what is Mario without Toad?) and salmon on top and fruity fillings. My only complaint is that the sashimi that went into sake don was a little too big and thick, the richness of the salmon is slightly overwhelming, a half in size for each piece would have been perfect. The other side of the menu is Chinese food. The miso soup is real (not instant). The name is cheesy that it's refreshing. The staff are so nice and all smiles. Loved the small and cuddly atmosphere.

If you need a quick Chinese food fix this is the place. It's cheap food that's actually pretty good. I ordered the special which came with crab ragoon, beef teriyaki, boneless spare ribs and pork fried rice. The crab ragoon as stated before has more cream than crab but are still pretty good. The beef teriyaki I did not like at all. The boneless ribs were flavorful but I wish there were more. The rice was pretty good! The price was the best part, 6 bucks. I will definitely be back!

Love this place. Photos I have attached are the MIT (salmon, crab stick, avo, cheese, wasabi mayo). Combo D was the Montauk Maki (tuna, avo, mango, tempura flakes), and Fish Tempura (white fish tempura, cucumber, avo, tobiko, eel sauce)

I've started steering away from their daily special and combo plates and I've come to the realization that $5/$6 plates are OK but won't keep me as a long-term customer. I ordered the Ma Po Tofu with rice and was sad when I got home. The rice wasn't even full and the container size for the ma po tofu was OK for the price but I was dissatisfied with the tofu and meat. They use super soft ("silky") tofu which easily breaks apart. I'm use to other restaurants using a little more harder tofu so that when I pick it up with chopsticks it doesn't instantly break into a million little tiny pieces. As for the heat, it was definitely spicy which was great, but I was also disappointed in that they used very little pork, even though the dish is suppose to have pork in it. And I still stand by saying that their crab rangoons aren't great. They're just filled with straight up cream cheese amt maybe onions.

I ordered some of their Chinese food items, and they were really not good. Super greasy and poor quality ingredients. If you're looking for cheap, then this might be your place, but if you're looking for good tasting Chinese that won't make you feel slightly nauseous afterwards, this is not for you.

na na na na na na na na Batman! The batman maki - crunchy tempura flakes and spicy mayo mixed with raw salmon topped with tobiko. It was great! While I was there, I got the Super mario roll as well. The super Mario is a salmon roll with a piece of mushroom on top. That was good as well, but I'm bias since I'm a Batman fan. The rolls were great though. Then we got salmon sashimi. The salmon cut were HUGE! I think it's twice, or even trice, as big as it should be. It was fresh and tasty, but too much of it feels like you're stuffing your face instead of enjoying it. It lost a star because the waitress never came over to refill water. She mostly hung out by the computer/phone. Usually I give them slack since it gets busy during dinner hours. But this time it was just us (two people) in the entire place and the phone rang three times. So it wasn't busy. Anyway, I haven't tried the chinese portion of the menu, but so far, it's anice spot. Worth a visit!

One night after work I was craving for chinese food. I called for pick up and it was ready in 15mins! I got the sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice. I wish there would have been a little more chicken but it tasted good. It also came with 2 crab rangoon. This is the place if you want something quick to go.

  • Astra G.

Decent sushi for a great price! Fish was fresh with not too much rice. Meh American chinese food Fried rice didn't really have anything in it. Chicken was mostly fried batter with very little chicken pieces. Crab Rangoon was all cream cheese. Good take out spot for sushi but won't be ordering their chinese again.

We've been to both this place and Fish Market (1 block down) a couple of times now. Both are great, but there's really no beating the price of O Yummy. The sushi here is extremely good, especially the Spicy rolls! It's a cozy little joint and the staff there are cool people as well. If you're looking for really good sushi, and at the best price in Boston, you GOT to go here.

My gf and I went here for lunch today as a necessary cure after the 4th of July celebration. The bento box was exactly what we needed and 11:50! She even asked the guy to change the maki roll from a California to a spicy tuna and he did with no charge. For value I will be hitting up this place in future.

Was in town for business and wanted to order delivery. I've found finding good sushi is tough, let alone delivery sushi. Online ordering through Yelp was awesome. Entire menu is easy to navigate and all items have a good description. I ordered 3 rolls and edememe. 2 of the 3 rolls were great. Third was fresh I simply just didn't like the flavors. Delivery was prompt and driver was curious. I'd suggest this place for anyone looking to order delivery in the Cambridge area!

Ordered from this place last night Never again will I order here The beef was disgusting The chicken teriyaki looked nasty so I didn't even eat it The vegetable low mein smelt like Sh*t And the chicken fingers were over cooked! Not to mention the sauces they give you are tiny!!!! Also after I ate some of the food I felt sick!! The only thing that was good from this place was the scallion pancakes! I honestly don't even know how this place has 4 stars!! It's horrible!!

This place is great. We ordered take-out from here the other night and spent about $60. As far as price and quality go, the value here is great. 3 rolls of sushi for $13 is a great deal. And you would think that the rolls would be small or something. They were all a good size. We also got some sashimi and a couple of specialty rolls. The fish was really fresh and exactly how it should be. The orange chicken was great too. Just the right amount of spice and very flavorful. The one complaint I had was the tiny amount of miso soup you get with the 3 maki rolls. Literally, like 1/3 of the tiny cup it comes in. If you think you'll get an actual serving of soup, maybe order an extra one? But the few drops of soup I got were really good. All in all, great place. We will definitely be ordering from here again. Delivery took 1 hour even though we're not hat far away. But they told us on the phone that it would be that long so there were no surprises.

Does anyone why this place has randomly closed? They haven't been open for over a week. I tried calling and just got a generic voicemail. Also, I looked online and doesn't seem to be any clue as to why.

Decent food at incredibly low prices - even sushi! Their nigiri sushi is fresh and yummy, and the selection of rolls in the vegeterian combo ($9.95 for 3 maki? you can't beat that) is very unique and delicious. Based on what I've ordered off the regular menu, the food isn't greasy and overly salty, and you get a ton of it for a low price.

I'll start this by saying that I am a complete sushi freak (meaning that I would eat it for every meal, every day), and this is one of my absolute FAVORITE places to get sushi from! The prices are unreal for the amount you can get if you do one of their daily deals. I always get takeout since I live pretty close, but I've been to the restaurant too. It's small but nice if you're there with just one or two other people; it's never too packed. When ordering, I usually go for makimono combo c -- you can basically any 3 rolls you want, and get miso soup for just about $13! You would think for that price, the quality wouldn't be very good...but it's awesome. I definitely think it's comparable to the slightly more expensive sushi restaurants, if not even better. Highly recommended!

Excellent sushi, terrific fried rice, and overall amazing service and super fast delivery. This place is easily a strong competitor in the Allston/Boston sushi arena. I would not go anywhere else given the choice. They always get my order right and always deliver my food fresh and piping hot/fresh.

    (5)
  • Ash C.

Their makimono rolls aren't a gift from heaven and because of it I'm compelled to try out other places but goddamn they offer the more quality sushi for a greater value. The rolls are hefty in size and most range between 5 and 7 dollars, super reasonable. They deliver for free, 10 dollar minimum. Just do it, do it now.

Since moving here two years ago, O Yummy has quickly become my go to Chinese place. The food is good (but it's not unique, your typical American Chinese) and it arrives quickly. The delivery guy is nice, too!

The BEST chinese (or Asian) cuisine I have ever eaten in America. Simple as that. Such an affordable price and fresh, tasty food with fulfilling serving size! I used to live around Harvard Ave and this place was my favorite place to go. I like their Orange chicken, General Go(Gao?) chicken, Mafo tofu, rolls, etc, the list goes on. I moved and now living hr and half away from O Yummy :( For sure I will eat there if I have a chance to go around there

We've been searching around for a new take-out Chinese restaurant since we dropped our old one. After some research, we decided to give O Yummy a try, mainly because they have great reviews on here and also because they offer Daily Special combination plates that are ridiculously cheap. My husband went for the Sesame Chicken combo plate (served w/fried rice and crab rangoon, but for a $1 extra, you can change the rangoon to pretty much any app you want.). I went for the Chicken with Broccoli combo plate. I changed one app to Boneless Spare Ribs (which were cut into pretty large chunks) and the other to Chicken Teryiaki (we got 2 large skewers). The chicken for both dishes was very tender and we thoroughly enjoyed both entrees. The pork fried rice was the big winner for me. I usually do not eat this, as it tends to be dry and blah. But this one was super moist and flavorful, with plenty of pork, egg bits and peas. A very pleasant surprise. I am a huge dumpling fan, so I also had to order a serving of the Fried Dumplings (aka Peking Ravioli), which were decent, but they were more like Japanese gyozas than Chinese dumplings. The inside was tender and flavorful, but the dough was thinner and they fell apart easily. The ginger dipping sauce was tasty, even though I tend to prefer scallion dipping sauce. Our total came to just over $20, so we were able to get the complimentary edamame too. Obviously, this is a lot of food and we had plenty left for lunch the next day! This is definitely our new go-to Chinese takeout place. Now they just need to get dumplings the way I like them! :)

Really great food! This isn't gourmet, but the prices are good and you definitely get your money's worth! When it comes to cheap Chinese takeout/delivery, what you can hope for is pretty simple: the food should be tasty and hopefully not too greasy and salty; the fried stuff should taste like they actually clean out the fryers regularly so you don't end up with chicken fingers that taste like rancid shrimp, the portions should be generous, and the food should arrive on time and still be hot. This place meets every one of those expectations. What more can you ask for? One thing I would like changed: they only offer the "boneless" spare ribs, they don't even have the regular ones on the menu. "Boneless spare ribs" are one of the worst things to ever happen to traditional American-style Chinese food. They're not spare ribs at all, they're just fatty leftover scraps of meat and they might be dyed the same color as the real thing and they might use the same kind of glaze but since it's not really a spare rib it doesn't taste nearly as good...plus it's kinda gross how fatty they always are. I'd like the option of buying real spare ribs. Oh yeah, and they didn't give us any hot mustard or fortune cookies.

Still waiting on my food over an hour and a half later (30min past their ETA). Called the restaurant and they couldn't care less, told me it might be another 10-30 minutes. I'm less than a mile away from the restaurant. First and last time I'll be ordering here.

This was our first time ordering from foodler, usually we use grub hub, but this was even easier. We got 2 sushi rolls, soup, rice, and a dinner combo, all for under $30, and the food was here in the time they said it would be (a little over an hour) The sushi was amazing, and the fried rice was great too. We will definitely be ordering again. The only thing that was a little off putting was that when I placed my order, I specified for them to use the buzzer and bring it up to our apartment. Instead, the person called for me to come downstairs. I expected to find him at the security desk in the lobby, but he didn't even bother getting out of the car. I had to go outside the building to get the bags from him while he leaned out of the car, telling me to "be careful." It was a little shady but the food was totally worth it. Also worth noting, the soup was double bagged and nothing spilled, I was very impressed. This is a keeper!!!

O Yummy is O K! Good price, fair quality. Would go again for that take-out, disappointing Chinese food that we subject ourselves to after regrets... on the toilet..

I don't like Chinese food but my boyfriend wanted me to try it out. It was DELISH, seriously some of the best Chinese food I've had. I got the braised tofu which was great, the orange chicken was freshly made with actual pieces of orange and the guy who took our order was professional. He knew everything about the menu and as a picky eater I appreciated his understanding of the ingredients. If you're looking for some great Chinese at affordable prices, GO!!

-Great place for take-out if you're looking for some dirt cheap, non-sketchy American Chinese. In fact, the best American Chinese I've ever had. We always get: -Orange chicken (awwwwesome with a little kick to it) -Vegetable lo mein -Pork fried rice -Crab

Well it's pretty cheap.... Food is ok. Service barely up to par... Needed a fork and knife with my beef teriyaki the waitress took a call instead and I had to wait 5 minutes before getting the utensils. They also spoke an Asian dialect loudly making jokes... Was a bit awkward sitting there the only table not understanding a word. Just not very hospitable. The decor is below average... Just white and brown...looks old even though this is a "new" place...

This place has the worst customer service I've ever had to endure in my whole life.. I bought chicken lo mein dumplings and egg rolls when I brought it home we tried one egg roll one dumpling and a fork full of the lo mein. I called and told them we didn't like the food and it had no taste and was told oh sorry nothing we can do about it you already ate the food. I decided to drive over there and show them exactly what I ate and they told me its too bad and said all these customers that come here like the food. Never offered to make it again or give me a refund even after explaining the food was tasteless. I paid around 20.00 and was told they can give me some sort of discount but not a complete refund, I accepted thinking they would give me at least half he handed me 3.46 and laughed at me saying your the only one ever that hasn't liked the food. I am not sure how they have so called loyal customers with customer service like this... will never go here again if you like crappy food and intolerable customer service by all means eat here. My opinion don't waste your time there are many other places around with exceptional customer service!

On a Thursday night we ordered just a couple appetizers (crab Rangoon and dumplings). The delivery took about an hour and 15 minutes. After I called to find out where the order was, they said it was on the way. When the food was finally delivered everything was cold. It shouldn't take an hour and 15 for a couple apps, and then for them to arrive cold? Even worse. Less than impressed.

Placed and order for take out and had the General Gau's, Mapo Tofu, seaweed salad, and a spicy tuna roll. Everything was just ok. My mapo tofu was really bland and I quit eating it after a few bites. I think the chinese food at hoy hing is better. Probably won't go back here.

By far my favorite take out Chinese and sushi place in Allston. I'm pretty picky with sushi and I've never been disappointing with the quality of ingredients or preparation here. Same goes for the Chinese food. Not only is the food always good but the prices are very fair. For example, for 8.50 you get to choose two orders of regular sushi and get a miso soup. Unlike some of the other places in the area that have cheap lunch specials, the price for makimono combos here are the same all day. Also when you order for over 20 dollar they have free specials like crab rangoons. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it can take a while for the order to get prepared and often times they underestimate the pick up time. If they can get better at that, they will deserve a full 5 star rating.

O Yummy is by far my favorite Chinese food in the area. There is a special place in my heart for dumplings and if my fiance would let me, I would live off of the dumplings at O Yummy for the rest of my life. Plus, you can't beat the prices! We usually order General Gau's, Beef with Broccoli, Won Ton Soup, and of course my favorite dumplings in the world! Everything is made perfectly and for very cheap :)

I'm loath to admit it, but it's fair to say that I've ordered from 'O' Yummy (always via GrubHub) at least a dozen times. That's not necessarily a sign that it's amazing so much as that it's cheap, relatively quick, and easy. In other words, painless to the wallet and the stomach. We often get the same things: Sashimi deluxe (12 pieces of assorted sashimi, rice, plus miso soup) for me, veggie combo (6 pieces each of avocado/cucumber, Idaho, and veggie futo) for her, and the free edamame that comes with an order of $20 or more. On adventurous days, I'll try something else, like the fish tempura roll or even chicken wings, but in general we stick to what we know and like. The upsides: food is fairly tasty; fish is fresh; GrubHub makes it easy to order; we ask for modifications and they're made with no fuss or up-charges. The downside: it can take anywhere from 45 to 120 minutes to get to us, and we're ~1 mile from the location. Seriously, we've waited 2 hours for our food before. Give it a shot - definitely better than some of the junk they offer around here.

Normally I would be very skeptical about any restaurants with the name "yummy" in the title (I mean, it's trying to be a little too obvious, isn't it?), and especially those that offer a mix of fast food Chinese and sushi. However, on this rainy evening, I decided to give it a try, and found myself pleasantly surprised. I ordered the rainbow roll, Batman roll, salmon nigiri and seaweed salad. Nothing groundbreaking, but the fish tasted very fresh and the sushi rice was good as well. The seaweed salad portion was huge. The thing that impressed me the most was when I ordered online via Foodler, it said my meal would arrive in an hour and it DID. Given the pouring rain outside, I was impressed. Since this was my first time ordering from O Yummy, I'm not sure if this great delivery timing is consistent, but I had a good experience. One thing to note is the specialty rolls were smaller than I'd expect. Overall it was a tad pricey given the amount of food ($30 incl. tax and tip for 2 rolls, salad and 1 order of nigiri), but since the delivery is technically free, I guess it's sort of baked into the regular menu prices.

I am a New Yorker. And whether you agree with me or not, New York has by far the best sushi. But this place actually measures up to my expectations. Their spicy salmon roll is delicious. Their Salmon Don consists of 8 salmon sashimi over rice along with miso soup, and their crab rangoons are also delicious. Their chinese food is good too. Their General Tsao chicken is delicious.

My fiance and I have ordered from O Yummy through Foodler several times now and we always love it. He gets the Chinese offerings and I always get sushi. The sushi I've tried so far has been really great, and he thinks the Chinese is fantastic. Even though it's takeout, the presentation for the sushi is always gorgeous, which I really appreciate. It's nice to feel a little fancy when you're getting takeout sometimes. Foodler usually estimates our order will take a bit over an hour, but they usually arrive a little bit early (we live not too, too far away, so that may be why). The guy who does the delivery is very nice. We've become addicted to this place. We promised ourselves we'd try somewhere else the next time we order out, but I know all I'll be thinking about is the maki rolls I still want to try....

I ordered food online at 8:30PM. (Keep in mind the restaurant closes at 11). They called me at 9:20PM to tell me they were NOT going to make/deliver my food. DO NOT ORDER IF YOU WANT TO ACTUALLY EAT.

Y'all need to relax. This is hands down the best cheap-style Chinese takeout in Allston, maybe even ... Boston. Or the East Coast. It tastes like you spent way more on it. It's not swimming in grease or infused with salt. I think it has something to do with the fact that they also so sushi (fresher ingredients?). Their all-day special (no hour requirements?? YES.) is very well priced for what you get. The sushi is alright, definitely better options in the area, but there's a reason why the only other Chinese takeout in Allston closed. It's because O Yummy is the bomb.

Ordered the orange chicken, steamed gyoza, and spicy salmon roll. Orange chicken was entirely breading or gristle, not a single substantial piece of discernible chicken meat. The gyoza was fine, wouldn't order it again though. The sushi is my biggest gripe. Having ordered the same salmon roll before, I figured I could count on decent quality. As I picked up my first piece the contents slid out of the bottom of the roll and as I mushed it around with my chopsticks I again couldn't find any meat. It was all mayo. This being my fourth time eating here, I am going to give it one more chance and will revise my review if I find different results. As of now O Yummy has lost considerable confidence in my book.

These guys are one of the few places that actually do Japanese and Chinese well. They have these great Maki boxes for $12 that are killer! The lunch specials are around $6 for a wide range of chinese options. They are pretty much organic. The orange chicken has all good white meat with hot pepper and slices of orange in them. The sweet and spicy is a perfect balance. Unreal. The owners are always on site and remember you day 2

O Yummy is my new "go-to" for takeout Chinese. They delivered last night in 50 minutes and it was fresh and great! The driver was friendly, and the food was reasonably priced! It wasn't greasy or anything, which I loathe, but seemed to be extremely fresh! I'll try it again soon for their Japanese!

I got delivery from here and will definitely order again! The scallion pancakes are incredible. Also to note, the delivery service was 15 minutes early and the friendliest cutest delivery I've ever experienced. The only reason I had to go with 4 not a 5 was bc i ordered online and got a free order of crab rangoons which they forgot. I bet they would have been so good....

I come here for sushi takeout a few times a month, but haven't used their delivery service, tried the Chinese food, or dined in. The sushi is fresh and well-made, and I especially like their signature rolls, such as the Pink Lady maki (soy paper wrapped around tuna, yellowtail, salmon, tempura flakes, avocado and tobiko, with special sauce on top), which is a really filling roll for only $8. If you spend $20 you usually get a free crab rangoon or seaweed salad, which is a nice treat. The service here is excellent and the sushi chef as well as the man who typically answers the phone/rings you up are both very sweet. The sushi is priced well and the wait is never long. It's definitely a reliable neighborhood spot.

Their Japanese food outshines their Chinese food. The sushi was excellent, and their rolls are creative. It's the best delivery sushi I've ever had (which isn't much, but still). As for their Chinese food, the fried rice was quite good. Their mapo doufu was okay, but not as spicy or flavorful as I expected. The fried calamari was very bready and fried a bit too long. 5 stars for the sushi, 3 for the chinese food. I'll definitely return for a few more rolls.

YUM YUM YUM! I will definitely be ordering from here again. I am on a sushi kick right now, and decided I'd give this place a try. I got the spicy tuna maki and spicy scallop maki. Both were delicious and priced just right! Two thumbs up.

For a takeout Chinese restaurant, this one really takes the cake. They have numerous daily specials which are priced very well, which include rice and 2 crab rangoons. I usually get the General gau's chicken one and it tastes and looks a lot better than average. I really recommend coming here.

I ordered from this place via foodler, and was given a one hour estimated delivery time. The lady on the phone sounded like she didn't care at all, when I called after almost two hours. Then, about 2h 15m after I placed my order, the guy showed up, who I think was the owner, because he told me he would comp the food. I was still not impressed, I had been waiting 2h 15m, I was pissed. Then I ate the food. It was quite delicious; I got the kung-pao chicken, crab rangoons, and gyoza, and it was all very very good. Especially considering the price wasn't that high (I don't mean I got it free, I mean the place has really good food for the price). In the end I figured they're a new place, with really good food, but haven't figured out all the logistics of deliveries just yet. My advice, eat in or pick-up.

It took more then an hour for my delivery order to arrive and when it did half of it was missing. The driver and whoever I talked to at the restaurant were apologetic but it took them another hour to get me the rest of my order. The food was okay except for the crab rangoons seemed cheap and didn't have much filling. I won't be ordering from here again.

I very much enjoy this restaurant. The specials are amazing deals and you can try many different items for a very reasonable price. If you choose Chinese or Sushi here either way you will not be disappointed. Try the Maki cambo is my favorite and you get a free crab rangoon or seaweed salad which is a great value.

Five stars for the sushi and the service. Very nice people and very good sushi. That said, the rest of our meal was okay-if-not-fantastic, aside from one dish: the ribs in spicy black bean sauce were mostly bones with a tiny bit of very gristly meat on them (seemed more like trimming than actual ingredient) and no spice to the sauce. Quite a letdown, esp. for the price. We'll definitely eat there again but will stick to the very yummy and reasonably priced sushi. Which again, was great, as was the service.

Extremely fresh sushi here. It's fantastic. You can practically taste the ocean in your mouth still. This is going to be my new go-to for sushi in the Allston area. And their lunch specials are superb.

this place is great glad theres some good sushi rite down the road finally. Bout to go there for my fourth time! *UPDATE* My boyfriend posted that last post without me knowing and he didn't even know he was logged onto my account. I was going to delete it, but then decided that that would be the one of the most honest reviews since he totally thought his comment was anonymous (I just love non-tech savvy people). :) Disclaimer: I've only ever had take-out from here. Everything about this place is great. I had really low standards for some odd reason because I almost always have really high standards when it comes to sushi. Seeing that there was also Chinese food, I immediately assumed they were mediocre in both as opposed to a restaurant that does one, but awesomely. Boy, was I wrong. The first time I went, I'll be honest, I wasn't blown away. I got the Black Forest Maki (eel, fried sweet potato, cucumber, black tobiko, special sauce), Crispy Spicy Scallop Maki (scallop, cucumber, tobiko, tempura flakes, spicy sauce) and the Tempura Fish Maki (white fish tempura, cucumber, tobiko, special sauce...see a pattern here?). Anyhow, all were really good, but the spicy scallop roll had stale tempura flakes all over it and it was clear that the fried bits had been sitting around for a while. Right then and there, I was ready to give up and stop going. Done! Not giving them another chance to take my moolah! But no, it wasn't nice of me to be so cruel during the first shot; my boyfriend convinced me that we had to give them another chance since his beef fried rice was super amazing (those were his words). I wasn't too interested, but to please him... Fine. Okay. We'll go back. Jump to a few weeks later, we're both craving sushi and decide to throw some Chinese food in the mix again. We call in and order a Spicy Scallop roll (no crispies this time around), Boston Maki (salmon, cucumber, avocado), and Eel/Cucumber roll with an order of dumplings. We're told that they could just get a combo which will make our meal cheaper and we get a free Miso soup with it. Great! We go for it. As soon we arrive to pick up our food, we're told that there's a coupon that applies to our meal and we can either have an order of Crab Rangoons or Seaweed Salad free too. Whoa. Really?! So we pick Crab Rangoons and for less than $25, we excitedly walked away with 6 menu options when we only ordered 4. We get home and devour everything. Not one thing wrong. The very large soup we got was extremely flavorful and FULL of swimming pieces of seaweed and tofu - they definitely didn't skimp on anything. All the rolls tasted fresh and did the job - no mishap like with the first visit. Only a 5 minute walk from my apartment, this place makes it far too easy and convenient to fill your face with great food AND they try to find ways to get you great deals! Granted, this is probably not the best sushi I've ever had in my entire life, but given the price, the fact that we've literally never had to wait and the food is always ready by the time we get there, the service, and the quality, I'm so glad this place moved in. And I guess I'm kinda glad I listened to my guy. I hope I never ever have to say that again.

Quick, easy, and very tasty. Don't let its small size fool you, this place is the best Chinese takeout I've had in the area (and there are tons of them). The hour and sour soup is killer!

I normally go over to the Fish Market when I'm in the area, but I thought I'd try something new today. I was really skeptical about this place... It was 3pm, there was no one around and the store name doesn't exactly promise star quality food. I ate in and ordered the Sashimi lunch, which comes with miso soup, a salad, 12 pieces of sashimi and a bowl of sushi rice for about $12 (after tax). The salad was atrocious. The chunks of iceberg lettuce looked like someone had just ripped them up by hand and the miso soup was watered down. It was like something you would get at a shady food court. My doubts grew about the plate of raw fish I had ordered. But then the meal came out and it was gorgeous. The chef really knows how to present a plate. Well designed, clean and big, evenly sliced pieces of fish. The sushi rice was well seasoned too. The wasabi was a bit gritty for me and tako didn't taste too fresh, but the rest of the fish was really amazing. Good service, good product and a slightly cheaper alternative to the Fish Market.

This place is so wonderful. I live around the block and contemplate eating here literally every single day. The sushi is the BEST sushi I've ever had, at probably the lowest price I've ever paid. If you spend $20 you get a free crab Rangoon! I think I ordered 3 sushi rolls, vegetable Lo mein and a crab Rangoon for $21! Such a steal. Go here. No where else! Ps- a lot of people have commented about the long wait for delivery (which is true) but if you can pick up, or sit in, you'll get your delicious food in 15/20 max! This review is hard to write without ordering from them right now. YUM

For the price, this sushi restaurant is great. The service is exquisite. I ordered takeout, and I had a coupon for a free crab rangoon if my bill was over $20. My bill ended up being about $19.50 and they still gave me the free appetizer anyway. I also mentioned on the phone that I was a vegetarian and to keep the veggie sushi separate from the other items I was ordering. Just from my mentioning that, they adjusted one of the tofu dishes that I had ordered (not realizing that it had meat) to be veggie-friendly, without me even needing to ask. It really was going above and beyond. #littlethings

This place is such a great value and the guys who work there are very nice. For $13, you can get a fresh, 3 maki (roll) combo with a lot of different choices and miso soup! You can call in your order for pick up or FREE delivery, eat in the space and even order online! I have never had anything but the sushi menu, but I eat there on a weekly basis and have brought many friends there and we all love it. Great place and great value!

Ordered take out from foodler from this place. Not too bad really...I've had worse, but I've also had better. I decided on General Gau chicken/pork fried rice combo and the dumplings. ID never tried them fried before (from anywhere, not just here) so I decided on fried to mix it up a bit...only now I don't know if I don't like them because they're just bad, or I just don't like them fried...they weren't horrible, just not inspiring. That being said, everything else was fairly delicious. The Rangoons were a bit greasier than your average goon, and lacked in filling. Rice was cooked well and chicken was fairly on point too...Arrived on time hot. I'll most likely order from here again..

I went with a free voucher from Living Social for take-out. The chicken wings were super greasy and still pink inside. The shrimp with soybeans and rice had absolutely no flavor, basically a bowl of edamame with a few baby shrimp mixed in and no spices or flavor.

This place is seriously great. My friend and I just went and it was just excellent. Their menu has great variety. We both ended up getting sushi and since it was over 20 bucks we got free crab rangoons which were light and crispy and just awesome. It wasn't crazy expensive, and the roll i got (Patriot roll, 9.75) was FRIGGEN AMAZING. Check it out.

I have no idea how this place got 4 stars. I picked up take out from there last night and was not pleased at all. We got the daily special combo (well priced at $6.95) one with general gau chicken and the other with Kung poa beef. The portions were generous and the side of crab ragoon was pretty decent. The chicken didn't taste like anything and was soggy-not crispy at all. The beef was even worse- the pieces of beef were smaller than the peanuts in the dish. We ended up throwing away our leftovers. Worse than mall food, definitely pass.

Overall, I was pretty impressed with Allston's newest sushi offering. The lunch special was a great deal: 10 dollars for two maki, meso soap, and a salad! The sushi was pretty standard fare, but I think I would come again. Great for a casual lunch or dinner.

Food came in half an hour. FREE Delivery! Yeah! Food was good, ordered the seafood udon noodle soup- hot and separated to prevent soggy noodles, scallion pancakes- fried goodness, and salmon and tuna sushi were good. Overall a great takeout experience!

My spouse and I had a pretty good Chinese dinner for $21 not including tip. Super inexpensive and quite satisfying. I ordered the chicken and string beans; he ordered the kung pao beef. Both specials came with fried rice and two crab rangoon. We also had an order of egg rolls, hot and sour soup, and tea. All of which were good, but I felt the soup was missing something. The server was attentive and we noticed a lot of take-out orders being filled. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated as well. We'll return for more and to try the sushi, it looked fab!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
