I've been here a few times. Best to call in and order ahead. A regular mushroom steak cheese sub does it for me. I see people in prior reviews complaining about people being rude, I've never encountered that. But think about it, do you care about the 'rudeness' if the food taste good or great? Yeah get over it (hopefully I don't have to update my review the next time I go there HAHA).

This is a high volume sub shop with good reason. Their food is good. The steak and cheese is tasty, as is the version made with chicken (name forgotten).

I have been going to landos for years, the best subs you can get in Acton, all food large portions and so good, only issues no place to eat inside as it is so small, and trying to find parking on a Friday or Saturday night is impossible

Significantly raise your prices and not update your menu online?!?!? Who does that? It's a good thing that the subs were oversized and tasty. If you are wanting a small sub, you better order a "mini". 3 subs (2 small and 1 large) ran us about $30!!! I'm sorry, but that is too much for a local sub shop.

My family got some pizzas from here. I got a gluten-free pizza, which I'm not entirely sure was actually gluten-free. We were assured it was, but the receipt claims low-carb... Either way, the edges were burnt and the middle raw. Nasty. Everyone else got normal pizzas. Our pineapple pizza came with tomato chunks on it, which while not the end of the world, isn't what we ordered. Everything was greasy.

If the TV commercials with tits and ass aren't enough, the employees are rude (including the dude from the commercial) and make you feel like you're bothering them. No one going in to a sub shop needs to be coddled, but the level of scorn is horrifying. I am so sorry for wanting a sandwich. Please forgive me.

    (1)
  • Michelle C.

Not great quality and there really wasn't that much food in the sandwiches. My kid's sub didn't have the correct comdiments.

  • Kate L.

Gigantic salad with tons of grilled chicken and steak and cheese for 19 bucks seemed decent. Chicken could have had more flavor. Homemade dressing is very good. Steak and cheese was a little bland. Light on the cheese. Chunks of tomato were awkward. Nice staff.

Their 'Budster' sandwich is pretty yummy if you love barbecue. Really not much for seating there (maybe 4 seats?). Haven't branched out into other menu items yet. I will say they lose two stars because at least one of the individuals that talks with customers while ordering/picking up always seems like they hate everyone and everything. Really takes the experience down a notch. But at the same time there are others who have been incredibly friendly.

Really wanted to like this place because it's near my house and I've heard such great things. They are known for their cheese steak subs, so that's what I got and was very dissatisfied. I've had steak subs from many pizza joints and T.C. Lando was the most disappointing sub I've ever had. Didn't even bother to finish it. I also tried the pizza- I've had better frozen pizza at stop n shop. The staff is friendly, but the food is lousy.

  • Dylan C.

0 stars Literally the worst 2 subs I've ever had. Steak and cheese was like ground hamburger in a sub roll. The "budster" had some of the worst quality chicken I've had. To top it off, high prices and terrible service. Terrible business........Good luck.

The best sub, pizza, burrito place around. Excellent service, good food. Take out only.

Pros:GREAT steak subs grinded steak that has a hamburger consistency Unique subs/salads you won't find elsehwhere! Cons: HORRIBLE service...Rude kids likely brought up in the ghetto NO manners AT ALL everything is fine...dude man...k...whatever. Seriously get some non asshole help please. Prices: Some of the highest pricing i have seen for Pizza/Subs within 50 miles in any direction...crazy CRAZY high. Bread: The bread they use can get soggy fast if you don't eat it quickly. I'll try once more soon but if the service is THIS rude again i'm done good subs or not.

The food is fine, but the owner is extremely unfriendly and rude.

I Love this place !!! Everything I come here my food comes out fast, hot and fresh. The best steak and cheese of my life even better them steak and cheese from geno's in Philly

  • Alice L.

Excellent, best sub rolls ever, pizza was perfect. The only reason why it wasn't five stars was because it was pretty cramped for space, and getting in and out of the very packed lot was an ordeal... Otherwise, call ahead and you're golden. Food was awesome super friendly service.

$$$ Beware. From website thought dinner for 2 kids would be $18. Phoned in the order, was told it would be $25. They would not stand by their website pricing. Is that illegal? Repeat $$$ beware.

I have lived in town for years. I remember when they opened this location. It's pretty good but the pricing has gotten out of control. I can't justify going as often as I used to anymore. For two smalls subs shouldn't be greater than $20

I am very torn about this place. The subs are so so good. They have a vast array of different kinds. I love the chicken cutlet and my boyfriend dies for the "cherry bomb". They are generous portions and are ready quickly HOWEVER Some of the staff are just completely rude. The woman that works there literally acts as if it's the last hour of a 13 hour shift and she's miserable and has I huge attitude every time I'm there. One time I called and asked if they do delivery, she mumbled something in unrecognizable and then hung up on me. I was so put off and stunned that I drove there and ordered in person. It's tough because some of the staff are nice but the rudeness leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I wish I still worked for Cisco two towns over when I used to visit this place for lunch. I do miss this place. The steak and cheese was out of this world I also loved the burrito, never tried the pizza just the subs and was the best. I am no more than 1.5 hrs away but do think about his place and miss it.

Seriously. Best sandwich shop around. So tasty, fresh, etc. Great prices too. I had the moab burrito and my wife had the artichoke chicken quesidilla. Both were equally awesome.

I don't understand the whining some previous reviewers have "shared" about TC Lando's. You think they're rude? Well, try walking in with a smile and treating the staff as you would want to be treated and I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. I've NEVER known anything BUT friendly service and delicious food at TC Lando's for the past 30 years -- going back to when it had its location in Maynard (and BOY did we MISS it until it finally reopened in Acton). Great subs and the best pizza north of New York. And I always get a smile when I go there. Easy breezy.

This is dude food. The male members of my family love the stiletto's and meaty sandwiches and pizza.

Our entire department is stuck in this tiny area for work for the week, and the only thing we looked forward to was TC Landos. I strongly recommend the "Mother of all Burritos". Excellent meals all around.

I start with a disclaimer, I travel so I have had the opportunity to try many things in many places and I went to this place for only a month. The reason I gave this place a low score was for the following reasons: -I asked about one of the ingredients in a POLITE manner because it did not taste fresh, after trying that item from the menu twice. The response was - "then why are you ordering it" -Extra portions of attitude because I started to order different items from the menu for a change. -Feigning miscommunication because my "accent" ...I don't remember seeing "jokes" on the menu Well, I probably do pronounce my "V" and "W" with an overlapping sound; seeing as I was stationed in Germany for 2 years. However, cheese steak and pizza don't have the letter "V" or "W". The only funny thing is that I humored this place because it was not a faceless chain, but that miscommunication has been cleared up. I do not go or recommend that anyone go there on a regular basis.

The Italian sub and the cheese steak are my favorites. Pizza is awesome. I drive from a few towns over to get my tc Lando's fix!!

    (5)
  • Bill G.

The subs are huge and very tasty, but they are made from ground beef that is precooked. The chicken cutlets are battered not really breaded. Their prices have gotten lofty and don't expect friendly service. Worth a try as long as your expectations are low and pockets deep.

    (2)
  • Rob W.

Pizza isn't that great everything else is awesome! Can't all be home runs. I could eat the burritos and sandwiches everyday for the rest of my life. I would weigh 1,000 lbs, but it would have been worth it.

  • Liz L.

I love the food, especially the Greco and the Budster but MAN are the people here RUDE! I was in the other day and it wasn't that busy, however, a call came in and the worker at the register got a call and literally slammed down the phone. I would advise against calling in an order unless you like people speaking rudely to you. The food is pretty delish, but the service blows.

I used to live in the area, and ate TC's often. I still swing by for a bite when I visit my parents. This place offers amazing steak subs! And great portions. I feel cheated every time I get a cheese steak from somewhere else, as TC's has my expectations high. If you the Cheese Steaks, it's worth the drive. Service is always good to me. The owners have remembered me and been friendly to me since I was in middle school.

  • Jen P.

RUDE!!! I live in town and decided to try TC Landos for a lunch yesterday. I phoned in my order and our convo went like this: Me: I'd like to place an order for pickup. Him: Yup Me: lg steak/cheese/mushroom grinder Him: Name? Me: Jen He then hung up, no thanks, no time frame, no okay... Nothing!!! I couldn't believe the rudeness. I was tempted not to even go get my order but don't want to be equally as rude. I showed up, he hollered at me "can I help you?????" And seemed completely put out. I paid, and left, no Ty, nothing. Food was just ok. I will NOT be going back. Try sorrentos!

They have gone down hill. I used to go there all the time about 10 years ago when I was living in the area. Now I go once or twice a year when I am in the area. The Terriyaki Cheese Steak is what I always order. It used to be so flavorful. The past couple of times it just tasted like a regular Cheese Steak. As Always, the people working there are not very good at being pleasant. I understand they are busy people but my God the attitude I get for giving them MY money makes me feel like I've done something wrong. ...? didnt order quick enough..? etc. Life is too short, work sucks across the board. SMILE! I have read the other comments and it seems to be a common theme with these workers... Is it like a game to be such mean miserable people to them?

  • Dilean H.

Ordered Meditaranian quesadilla. Menu claims it has chicken, spinach, tomato, feta and sauce. Picked it up along with a burrito for my husband. Quesadilla I got had no chicken, had to poke around looking for the spinach and tomato. Could not find any sauce. What it had plenty of was nasty melted yellow processed guk they probably call cheese. It's not local to the Mediterranean. I was starving when I got home so that I scraped off the guk and ate the tortilla. I then made myself another Sandwich. Won't be returning.

I signed up for Yelp just to do this review. I'm easy going, and understand what it can be like in the service industry. I work in retail myself. I did work locally to this place many years ago went a few times, and never went back. Fast forward to last month. I see an ad try it out again, and wow... It's the best steak & cheese I have ever had. I can't believe I rarely ate there when I was so close on a daily basis in the past! After going around four times the past two months I finally realize why I stopped going there almost ten years ago. They have the worst customer service, and are the rudest place that sells anything I have ever been to! I don't expect much, I get it, customers can be rude to you, and treat you like you are not human when you work in a place like this. But the attitude, and aura the employees give off is like nothing I've ever experienced. The other reviews are accurate... All the food is fantastic, definitely over priced, that is for sure, but gigantic portions! Yes, that girl that works there is the rudest b***h I have ever seen work anywhere that helps customers. Don't get me wrong, it's the entire staff not just her that is rude. But the common trend is the "butch girl" as seen in other reviews. I'm not sure how she still has a job. I have never seen so many negative reviews on one specific person! She must be related to the owner, have pictures on him, or something. They are losing thousands of dollars a month with their service here, and on Yelp they could easily be 4 1/2 stars with normal "rude service". It's just a shame because as far as sub shops go I'm not sure who has better food. I almost want to print out all the Yelp reviews so they can see them, realize they have a problem, and that they are not isolated incidents. I'm sure it would be a waste of time though, clearly this starts at the top. One more thing, it's almost 50/50 they actually get your order correct. Obviously comes down to their phone behaviors, and attitudes. I will go back when I have that steak & cheese craving, hopefully I can restrain myself from punching the "rude, butch girl" in the face!

This place is an awesome sub shop. I grew up in PA and have eaten cheesesteaks at Pat's and Geno's and the ones at TC Landos are superior. As far as service goes, the place is a friggin' takeout sub shop that is almost always busy and crowded and the phone is ringing constantly with orders being placed. I have no idea as to why people on this forum expect their hands to be held or their arses kissed at a subshop. Get over it. Walk in and either tell them what you ordered over the phone or place an order, take the sub, then leave. How hard is that? Every time that I have been there, the people are working their butts off prepping food and taking orders. Don't expect a maitre'd to greet you at the door. if you want someone to chit chat with on the phone, call your mother, she want to hear from you. As far as cost goes, the subs are a much better deal than at Subway or any other big chain. A large sub with pretty much anything that you want on it goes for $9 and it is huge. A large can easily satisfy two hungry teenage boys or three normal adults. They absolutely pile on the meat and toppings. Frankly, I don't see how I could make an equivalent sandwich at home for less money. I ordered a turkey sub there and I swear that it must have had a full pound of turkey on it. They do that every time, for every customer, even if you are a d'bag who then goes home and trashes them on Yelp.

After hearing great things about this, we tried the pizza. It was great. My very picky kids love this pizza best out of all others in town. We went back again and I tried the steak sub. It had steak, provolone, and mushrooms. It was large and very good, although the texture of the steak was more like ground beef than I expected. The bread was fantastic. My son loves this better than the pizza! It was pricey, and the fact that only Pepsi products are offered takes it down a star ;)

Awww, did you guys feel like they were rude to you? Are you going there for therapy or a cheesesteak? Because that cheesesteak... yup, still crack.

Best Cheesesteak in New England or Philadelphia! This is greatest thing to happen to Acton since Robert Frost stopped here at a rest stop and was inspired to write a poem. The steak and bread were both perfect. The only thing that would make this better is if they had Cheese Whiz sauce like they do at Pat's and Geno's. (Don't ever go to Geno's in Philly, owners are meanies.) I also didn't like the fact there are only like five seats and they were all taken when I went there. I had to slum it over to the next door Dunkin Donuts to find a table to eat my steak and cheese! I think I stunk it up there because Fred the D&D guy gave me dirty looks and guilted me into buying something. So i bought a $0.89 French Cruller so I'd have a right to use their table. Oh well, the things we do for human decency.

Inconsistent pizza. Not a huge fan of their cheese steaks. Portions huge. Slightly overpriced for what you get. Poor quality control!

Just went for the first time and ordered a Large Steak Special at around 12:35pm. It took about 10 minutes to get the sub, even with about 10 people ahead of me (place was packed). The cheesesteak was delicious, and was still piping hot after an 8min drive back to work. Highly recommended. The Large is very big. I suggest sharing or saving the 2nd half. I was to keep up my momentum to finish it, but I'm also 245 lbs :) It appeared as if there were metal tables and chairs outside, but no one was using them (it is Winter right now).

Best cheese steaks ! Large portions. Prices are decent, and even if they weren't I'd still eat here. I love this place. I've moved out of the area and every now and again dream about this place! It's best for take out.

Best steak & cheese in MA! From tasty subs to HUGE salads that come with about a 1lb of chicken in a side container to burritos ... You can't get a bad meal here! The only reason why I give TCs 4 stars instead of 5 is because they are very strict on credit cards- requiring ten dollar minimum.

  • Chas K.

Work colleagues brought me a small Kama-Kazi cheesesteak sub ($7.25) yesterday. First off, I was hungry and still could eat only half. Second, the sandwich is aptly named. There's a negative correlation between Kama-Kazi intake and lifespan. Huge portions are not even on my list of evaluation criteria. Taste and quality is most important, and Lando's passes the test with this combo of steak, pepperoni, bacon, sausage, ham, and provolone topped with a zingy BBQ sauce. If you're craving an artery-clogging but immensely tasty sandwich experience -- and you're in Acton for some reason (I have a client in Littleton) -- stop in. If you think this review is useful, funny or cool, please click the corresponding button below. I'm trying to get Elite '11 status. Thanks in advance.

I LOVE TC Lando's steak and cheese. It's really the best I've ever had. I think it's the super fine ground beef that they use. It's not hamburger, it's ground steak and because it's so finely ground, it just goes down real easy. I get mushrooms, peppers and onions on mine with lettuce, tomato and mayo. I'm usually all for toasting the bun but not here. They just know how to do it. Why not 5 stars if I love this place so much? Because they're mean! Don't expect any type of customer service. They're rude and mean and just don't give a shit what you think or how you feel about it. It has to be good for me to keep coming back which is probably why they're like that. Still - no excuse.

  • eduardo s.

Quantity is definily not quality! I got a steak sub very well stuffed but which was a unseasoned! No taste at all, Got a huge salad and the 2 pieces of the chicken was over cooked then to complet and hold the fame of quantity more chicken was trowed into the salad and some of the chicken was uncooked near to raw! You get a lot for what you pay but very unprofessional prepared.

  • L Y.

The food is ok but nothing great. I had better. They seem to be always missing something. I get stale bread with a salad with no dressing one time. Not too happy about that esp after walking back to work and realizing they didn't put any dressing in it. Overly priced for sure.

    (1)
  • Ike S.

Every ingredient is processed, and every item on the menu is probably horrible for you. I don't eat here often, but when I do, I'm depressed and need to smother my sadness in cheesy meaty bliss. I love these sandwiches but won't recommend eating here too often for your own sake.

  • Bob A.

Vegetarians beware. This place has more ground beef than just about any where else near by. The Good: Subs are big, so if you're not super hungry the "small" will be more than enough. I like the Giambotta, which like many of their steak subs have a variety of meats in them. Service is usually quick. The Not So Good: Its crowded, in designing the space the maximized the space for the food prep (much of which sits idle) and minimized the space for customers. Can be difficult to physically get in to place an order.

I love this place. Really large food portions and excellent quality food and you cant beat the prices.

Like some other reviewers, I experienced a very rude employee taking orders over the phone. We ordered 3 items and had an issue with all of them. I thought about calling back but definitely didn't want to deal with the woman answering the phone again. Chalk it up to experience. There is no reason to go back.

Whatever cheese steak you think is better isn't. This is the holy grail of cheese on meat on bread. The pizzas and calzones (especially the buffalo chicken) are great. I have never had the Mexican options, but I have likely eaten my weight in Smokey Joes (cheese steak + pastrami) over the years. These sandwiches live in my heart, figuratively and literally. May I live to eat 1,000 more. I have had a variety of service experiences over the years, but mostly I don't have to think about it. Even large orders are 99.99% accurate (my whole family orders together from TC's a couple times a year, never a problem.) Sometimes when the owner rings me up he'll throw in a free soda with my sub (but don't go expecting these favors.) On the off occasion someone isn't the friendliest, I don't need my sub guy to fawn over me. Take my money, give me my sandwich, see ya next time. Thanks.

I like the staff and the service but the eggplant sub I had was so mediocre. The eggplant had a slightly sour, almost bitter flavor which is what happens when you don' t prepare eggplant correctly. The sauce was decent. The bread (sub roll) was sad- stretchy, squishy bread with a soft crust, that did not hold up to the sauce and got soggy. I don't get all the good reviews for the bread on here. It is supposed to have the right texture and a little crispness and brownness to the crust. I am spoiled- I used to live in the North End 27 years ago and there was a sub place that made their own bread, the most delicious Grandma style Italian sauce and the tastiest eggplant I have ever had- but I honestly would settle for an eggplant sub that was a B or a B+ without having to drive into the city and I can't even find that.

The WORST customer service!! orders are always wrong. Unbelievably inconsistent. Pizza slices are NEVER heated properly. Very high minimum for card use. Plenty of other places to go locally. I highly recommend bringing your business elsewhere.

It's strange how your perception of a place can change, often without knowing what caused the change to occur. I had been aware of T.C. Lando's virtually since they opened, but was never a raving fan. Maybe it was because I didn't fancy myself a steak and cheese freak, which, let's face it, is why people tend to go there. I had been going to the original restaurant, Tory's, in Maynard since I was a kid, but always for coldcut subs. Well, dropped into T.C.Lando's a few years ago, tried a "specialty" steak sub, and was just blown away! Everything about the sandwich was exemplary - the flavor, the ingredient mix, the portion size, the pure pleasure of a decandent and delicious sandwich. The large subs are definitely two meals, even for a good sized guy like me. Since that visit, I've been back many times, and definitely have a favorite...the Cherry Bomb! This bad boy is chock full of steak, pepperoni, provolone cheese, and hot peppers, with both barbeque sauce and tomato sauce. I know, I know, I was saying the same thing, tomato sauce on a steak sub, how can that work? I don't know, but I'm so glad I overcame my doubts and gave this sub a try...it is absolutely delectable, and is my go-to sandwich whenever I go to T.C. Lando's. Their steak sub variety is incredible and unusual, so don't be afraid to try them all. On top of that, they do pizzas and quesadillas, and the variety for all this tasty chow is off the hook! My one reservation about the place is how popular it is...I actually time my visits for "off peak hours", as the place can get jammed with customers. It's a very small sub shop, and not unusual to see a line going out the door.

When my friend suggested stopping here for some subs, he didn't get much of a reaction from me. When he mentioned they were owned by the same people as Carl's in Waltham, a smile came over my face. Parking here was tough. It doesn't get much better when you get inside. It's tiny in there. Plan on taking it with you rather then sitting in the front window. When we were there, the stools were all being used by people waiting for their orders. I had a Chicken Parm Sub that tasted great. Juicy chicken with just enough sauce and plenty of melted cheese. The bread was toasted to perfection. Next time I'm in the area (unfortunately doesn't happen often), TC Lando's is at the top of my list.

Weak three stars, but the pie was free thanks to coupon I received in the mail. Acton does nothing well, and its reflected in all of the local restaurants. The pizza was OK. I bit light on the sauce & toppings, but decent taste. Certainly much better than Domino's, but not what good pizza memories are made of. Parking in the strip mall can be tough. A little pricey. Haven't tried the cheese steaks.

Been wanting to check this place out and finally did tonite. Was hoping for an amazing cheese steak sub. . . but I got a huge mediocre sub. I ordered the special which was supposed to have beef, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese. I found no mushrooms at all, which was very disappointing cause I love mushrooms. Then the meat, was not shaved, but sort of ground up. I also ordered the onion rings. .. really a disappointment. Had a bad flavor, maybe old oil. I tried this on a coupon deal. I won't be back. It is weird, I would think that places would want to impress people who have groupons or some other deal so they will come back. Oh and the service, I agree with other reviewers. everyone there was just plain RUDE!

Amazing food, enough said! 1 sub is two meals.

  • Mel S.

My first experience with TC's was the Acton location. It was what I expected of a sub shop, nothing more or less. I have limited options because of my diet, but I still felt as though I had my choice of subs, which was nice. (Upon first seeing the menu online, I thought I'd have a tough time finding something.) I ordered basically what they serve as the meatless hot sub, but asked for it to be prepared cold. I ended up getting broccoli on it (their mistake - I didn't order broccoli), but I didn't mind so I didn't say anything. After eating most of it, though, I had to pick off the broccoli because it was just too much. The sub itself was pretty good, though I think the next time I might try one of their eggplant meals. My boyfriend got the "budster," which is (from their menu verbatim) "Chicken Cutlet, Hickory Smoked Bacon & Tangy BBQ Sauce with Provolone Cheese". He really liked it, and it did look really good. The two subs together, plus two drinks and a bag of chips, was around $20, which is pretty typical for a sub shop. This place is worth a shot, but just be prepared for a busy atmosphere with very little sitting room. There is a bar against the window with some stools, and between that and the counter is a small space for standing, walking, ordering, etc. If there are a lot of people waiting for their food, there might not be any room to sit, so you're best to take it to go. (We were lucky enough to beat the rush, so we were able to sit.) Also, I don't know if it's business as usual, but I'll mention it because I saw similar comments in other reviews, but they're a little blunt on the phones. I don't know if the person who called in at this one point was an idiot or not, but the guy became obviously impatient with him.

I hadn't been in here in almost 10 years, but not much has changed. Same guys behind the counter, same wicked awesome cheese steaks and still very affordable. Definitely the best quick lunch option in this area.

This is a tough one - I would think more of a 3.5, but I'll give them the benefit of no half stars here. Simply put - HUGE subs with plenty of good toppings. Its the kind of sub you get when you just want to indulge in all the salt and fat your body might crave and wash it down with several pints of beer - kinda like getting awful, yet oh-so-tasty chinese takeout. You know you shouldn't, but its generally worth it. No real complaints, other than I found the bread to be very 'meh'. Maybe it is 'designed' to be bland to make the meat etc stand out more - but for me, a major sandwich snob - the bread should be better. It should have a flavor and a consistency of its own - and be more than just a vessel for the food. The staff is abrupt, but they work hard. They use all the "pal, buddy, chief" kind of terms when talking to you - probably pushes some folks buttons.

Very hectic day today. Decided to get subs for dinner. We ordered Three subs. One chicken and two steak subs. All the subs were good . The chicken sub was frozen chicken fingers deep fried with BBQ. sauce and melted cheese. My wife said it was OK but, very salty. the kids liked it. The steak subs had peppers, mushrooms, onions and cheese. The kids and I liked them. The product in the Acton store is no where as good as the rest of the locations they have. The Waltham location is by far the best and for some reason, the food is less expensive as well. We gave them two stars because of the staff. Honest to GOD, they were drunk. If not drunk, they were on some type of drugs. Over all, go to the Waltham location.

This is our go-to place for burritos in Acton. I've tried a variety of them, and they never fail to satisfy. I moved to Acton a few months ago, and this weekend, received a "welcome to town" voucher for a free pizza at TC Landos- no strings attached. They'll be seeing my face again soon- but this time with a pizza on the usual burrito order. I wish that I could rate this as a 4.5, but I had to take off a whole star for the "experience"- it's a takeout only (there are stools and a window bar so i suppose that you could stay and eat if you wanted to, but there's honestly barely any room) but the customer area is very small so even while you're waiting for your food, you're constantly shuffling around to get out of people's way and not get whacked in the head by pizza boxes. My recommendation would be to order ahead to avoid the waiting.

I just love this place! The food is always hot (except the salads), savory, and bountiful. And the range of offerings is truly commendable. But I do have one question: Why does anyone buy their subs and pizzas anywhere else?

This is a family-owned sandwich and pizza shop. The people were nice; there are allergy signs posted. You order and wait (a bit) in a rather small space. We got two wraps and a slice of pizza. The pizza slice was ENORMOUS. My 10-year-old pizza-eater was not wowed, but I thought it smelled terrific. The two wraps were excellent, and came with chips. Given the size of the portions, the prices were extremely reasonable. We were so happy to find TC Lando's and will definitely return! If you offered 4 1/2 stars, I would have given them that.

It's been a couple years since my daughter and I were steered here by a local when we were passing through Acton. At that time we enjoyed a couple of the best cheese steaks ever, and we've been to Philly. Geno's, Pat's, Olivieri's... done 'em all. T.C. Lando's is right up there. In fact, the memory of those cheese steaks was enough to make me Google and Yelp around for the name of this place - which we had forgotten - when we realized we'd be back in Acton tonight. Tonight on our return trip, she had the classic cheese steak, (sm. 6.99) and I had the Giambotta - a cheese steak loaded with steak, melted provolone cheese, sauteed green peppers, mushrooms, onions, sausage, pepperoni, Genoa salami and tomato sauce. (sm. 7.99). Both sandwiches were fantastic. Fresh sub rolls, stuffed full of tender juicy meat, lots of cheese, all wrapped up really nicely. The tops of the sandwiches were covered with tin foil and then wrapped in a couple layers of grease resistant paper. I've been to lots sub joints and unwrapped many lesser and messier sandwiches. And here's the kicker. I called ahead and asked if they could prepare my sandwiches to be ready in 40 minutes. The guy on the phone said "no problem." He wasn't kidding: I walked in right on time and he was scooping the meat off the griddle and into the waiting roll as I approached the counter. Maybe it was luck, but I don't think so. 99 out of 100 times that I pick up food, the "to-go" stuff is sitting and growing cold waiting for me, or I need to stand around for 15 minutes after I get there. Lando's - who got everything else about our subs exactly right - got this exactly right too. Great cheese steaks, great service, fair price. That's gotta be 4 stars. And, I didn't have to go to Philadelphia! Plus 1 star.

This place is a definite guilty pleasure! The steak and cheese subs are greasy and delicious- especially the firecracker with pepperoni! They also have a yummy hawaiian chicken with cheese which I get when I am trying to get a "healthy" sub. I would say a small here is certainly substantial enough for one, and a large is big enough to split. Tiny location so definitely plan to order out. There are other related locations, as well, which are equally as good. There is another TC Lando's in Hudson and Carl's in Waltham. Overall, completely unhealthy but delicious! This place is in our, "help, there is no food in our house and we need dinner! quick!" rotation.

Best cheesesteak in all the land! Get take-out, there's not really a good place to sit. Pizza is also excellent, kind of a high quality "American" style. I also enjoy the italian sub...but usually my craving for the World's Best Cheesesteak wins out. Try it with peppers and onions!

Ya gotta stop at this place in Acton, MA. This sub is awesome...They have tons of specialty subs...including some great Chicken Subs like "the Buster"...but I prefer simple SteaknCheese with Mushrooms and Onions...maybe some pickles once in a while Be sure to grab a little salt and pepper too. Other than 4 stools in the front of the place, ya can't dine here...so be sure wherever you end up trying to eat this thing, you're sitting down with a plate and some napkins. (I tried eating this thing on the road and ended up wearin' more sub than I could eat). It can get a little sloppy if ya leave it for too long...as the fresh bread is SO soft, it will sop up the grease from the real beef quickly... And if you can eat a large, you're a better person than I. Even the Mini-Sub is substantial! Other than that sub...I've had the pizza...slices are huge and very tasty! If you're driving by them on Route 2 and you don't stop in, you missed out. They've got some other places (owned by the brothers if I'm not mistaken), but haven't been to those. Their menus look similar so I can't imagine they're too different.

I was thoroughly pleased with T.C. Lando's. We were in the area and happened to drive by and, having heard about their cheesesteak subs, decided to give it a try. 8 bucks for a large sub heaping with a generous portion of meat. I got the cheesesteak combo with onions and mushrooms, and my husband went for the Kami-Kaze, a cheesesteak with artery clogging meats like sausage and bacon mixed with a tasty BBQ sauce. These guys definitely make a great sub, and we were full! Lots of good stuff on their menu. I was impressed by the variety of subs, sandwiches, pizza, even burritos. We each noted several items that we'd like to try next time. Service was pretty good, kind of what you expect at a sub shop. No complaints. They seemed used to handling a high volume of customers. Only bad thing was the extremely small waiting area and no tables to eat at. There was a narrow counter in front of the window with stools, but certainly not comfortable, especially if there are 10 other people in there waiting for their food.

Good place for a throughly heart-stopping and filling lunch. My co-worker and I frequently grab subs from this landmark during the work week. He typically gets a cheesesteak with extra cheese and devours it. Personally, I'm a fan of the "Budster" which is like an 8-ball of arterial-clogging goodness. The menu continues to expand like waistlines so feel free to branch out. The place can get busy during the lunch rush but the staff is generally cordial and effective managing everyone and their order. There's very little counter space to sit and I don't think I've ever seen anyone try to eat-in. So be prepared to take your order to go!

Food is good...not worth the money. Very expensive. The only reason why im giving only 1 star, is for the the fact that the GIRL AT THE FRONT WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE IS THE RUDEST BIATCH ive ever seen. I called to order a salad with chicken...and hung up the phone right after is DISBELIEF! Needless to say I was anxious to meet this BEAST when I went to go pick it up. And she was indeed, very beastly. If this place had better customer service, and got rid of that asshole who answers the phone, I might go back. HEY HONEY...IF YOU'RE READING THIS, ITS NOT THE CUSTOMERS FAULT YOU WORK AT A PIZZA PLACE AND YOUR LIFE SUCKS. DONT TAKE IT OUT ON US! SMILE AND BE POLITE, YOU RUDE WITCH!

T.C's is a great spot to get a massive, artery clogging sub with more than one kind of meat in it. The pizza, however, is not great. The slices are large, but the sauce is a little funky and I can't eat more than one without it starting to bother me. I really like the "Budster" sandwich, which I think is chicken fingers, bbq sauce, bacon, and a secret ingredient - the laughter of a child. A word to the wise - don't try to pop open your sandwich and get a bite before reaching your house. You will get sauce all over yourself and it wont come out. I learned this the hard way. One time I saw a gigantically fat guy order 2 large meatballs subs and get 2 20oz soda's here. Go here and get a large sub, then you'll realize how impressive/disgusting this is.

    (4)
  • Tim E.

The food is excellent - I cannot resist their hawaiian chicken sub. Take-out and delivery for the most part - seating is a few stools and a small counter by the window, but the place can get very crowded at meal times.

    (4)
  • Christina K.

I've only ever gotten the eggplant parm sub here, but it's delightful. No real room to sit down, just a counter with stools, but eating it in the car is just as tasty (I can never wait till I get home to tuck in).

If you thought the cheesesteak sandwiches at the Great Steak and Fry Co. at the malls were good, you never had a cheesesteak at T.C. Landos. The small size is actually a large at 99% of any restaurant you'd walk into. Their large for $1 are enormous. Basically, what you're getting here in lunch and breakfast! Good stuff! Recommedations: Steak Special, Porkey or Smokey Joe Steak Sub

More than a few times had i gone to the bank and the Dunkin' Donuts next door at lunch time, and found huge lines at this place, and i did kinda wonder what all the hubbub was about. I'll say this much, they do make good, large sandwiches, with giant, soft hunks of bread. i thought the meatball and sausage sub i had was merely okay, with insufficient cheese and not a huge amount of the good stuff (if the bread weren't so good, this would be a bigger problem). Myself and my colleague made the mistake of eating in, which basically meant that i had to continually duck or scoot out of the way of people getting soda from the cooler, or better yet just take requests and ask for a tip. If i'm driving by, it sure beats Maynard House of Pizza by a long shot, but it won't supplant Willy's Phillys as a lunch pick at work anytime soon.

A friend of mine that resides in Acton had been talking up "Cloud City" for five years as the best place to get a steak & cheese and the measure of all other steak & cheese subs. I was finally able to make the pilgrimage today and was not disappointed. I got a regular old large steak & cheese sub and was fairly impressed. It's size was ridiculously huge (I was able to finish it, but it's about twice the size of a normal sub anywhere else). The bread was extremely fresh. Somehow, the steak & cheese subs are greaseless... it was amazing, and I'm a fan of grease. They could have put more cheese on the sub, though it wasn't too dry to eat. Overall, I will be sure to go back next time I'm in Acton, but I won't be making any special trips to get there. And I'll definitely be getting the small sub instead of the large one.

This is the best pickup pizza sub place in a 20 mile radius. Their subs are incredible in size and worth the trip from 3 towns over. Heres a hint get a large grilled chicken, cumcumbers lettuce black olives carrots feta cheeeeese, and a side of greek dressing and you'll have the best meal for the next two days that you could have ever imagined. Zoinks! Maybe the service isnt the friendliest but hell what do i care, im just calling in the order and picking it up.

I've had their pizza and subs a few times now and I definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for a tasty hot meal! Both a friend and I took advantage of coupon for a free pizza after moving to the area and it was great. I also LOVE the Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken sub!

  • Norman F.

So many things are wrong w/ their cheese steak sub. The steak is more like a minced meat more than scrap steak. An unseasoned and un-marinated minced meat just being browned from raw. Then loads of salt and maybe something else are added to it. On my so-called cajun sub, I have no idea where the cajun part was, even if there was, the disgustingly & overwhelmingly much salt overwhelmed that. Quite bad if you ask me. Will never return. This was enough salt for me for a week & I ordered only the regular size.

I have been to T.C. Lando's in Acton 3 times and all 3 times the service was very slow and the staff were very rude. Not worth your time just for a so-so grinder/pizza.

  • Kavita B.

Pizza is okay, more often burnt than not, specialty ones are interesting. Subs are pretty good, sometimes low on the filling. Service is ALWAYS rude, so you know what to expect whe you walk in. You will never hear a please, thank you, or hello. You will hear "are you ready?" ANd you'll see many a scowl if you are not ready to order when they ask, and you won't know or be informed when your order is ready, unless they are familiar with you. Sort of intimidating. But it smells amazing when you walk by. It's a good and greasy splurge for that occasional "pushing your luck, clogging your arteries" kind of food.

Tim gets a steak & cheese and I get a buffalo chicken salad. We like 'em both. Definitely get fries--they are soooo worth it. This little store front gets packed--don't plan to eat there. We usually call ahead with our order to slightly avoid the chaos. Plenty of sidewalk to wait outside. Convenient spot near a liquor store & dry cleaner's too!

Sub-Sational! If you are looking for a well made, large sub, this is the place for you. Between their Cheese steaks and other well known specialties, this place is the tops. I eat there at least once a week. Buy a large sub, eat 1/2 for lunch and save teh other 1/2 for the next day. If you are starving, and daring for that matter, eat a full large. I guarantee that you will be full

My husband and I went to this place for the first time last week after hearing some rave reviews from a friend. The food, BBQ Chicken sub and cheese stake was amazing. I can't wait to go back and try their pizza. Great, diverse menu. Service was outstanding. Only 4 stars as no tables to eat out, only take out.

I ordered a regular steak burrito on Friday at 12:00 for lunch. I was in the hospital by 5:00 with accute food poisoining. I was not released until 1:00 on Saturday and even then they wanted to keep me. I have never felt so much pain in all my life. If you are looking to kill your self by the most painful means possible eat at TC Landro's in Acton.

$10 minimum on cards!!! That's ridiculous. There's not 1 sub over 10 dollars. Now I'm spending more when I don't want to! Can't run credit? Too cheap? Also steak quality is horrible. I can also get a small pizza for less than what u charge for a slice. Ur gonna go under if u don't let us use our card for less than 10. No one carries money anymore.

best steak and cheese I've ever had , with my apologies to bobs in Medford. It wasn't greasy , it was humongous and the quality of meat was good. Definitely lives up to the reputation they have on the phantom gourmet. Very hard to eat a large in one setting. Their chicken tips and other menu items look very interesting but i figured my first time there i would have to have the steak and cheese.

  • Justin W.

The steak subs are huge and delicious. The pizza is lousy. The seating is very limited, so get takeout if there are more than 2 people eating.

    (4)
  • Sam S.

I have only tried the various cheese steaks on their menu. They get a lot of hype and this may be due to their size. They are huge and relatively cheap. The type of meat they use can be fatty and gray as they keep the cooked meat in a steam drawer. Overall they do taste good and you can't complain about the portions. As to the service...well I have ordered there three times and they have yet to get my order right. The counter person (same one all three times) is curt on the phone (I'm being generous here) and not very understanding when trying to straighten out the order upon pickup (abrasive and indignant might be more descriptive). There is no seating and really no delivery for smaller orders so it is really a pick up only place. Overall I give the food (cheese steaks mainly) a 3 and service 1, for a 2 average.
