I never thought I'd say this because I've had some pretty bad experiences at other waffle houses but I really like this waffle house. The wait staff is really nice, the place is clean, and my food comes quickly. Also this is one of the few (only?) places open 24hrs in Avondale. I'm also a big fan of the sausage gravy and biscuits.

A significant upgrade on the lowly Denny's establishment. It's not gonna knock your socks off, but if you're looking for a quick meal that will fill you up, get you going for the day, and only cost a few bucks, Waffle House fits your needs. I speak from experience as a West Coast diner frequenter. Low to Solid 3-Star

I have nothing against a decent waffle house, I've seen awesome places, especially in GA. This joint and its food is really good, typical waffle house breakfast, with awesome hash browns, but the facility and it's cleanliness, wow that's a one two punch in your gut. I'm not picky, after all, I've eaten of dirt in the field in combat, so I truly don't care much about it, yet that dy it seemed, that the team, wasn't up to the challenge, table dirty, actually lots of tables not even cleared from the customers which had left already.... So all in all, super food, facility not so much..

I was told Waffle House was the IHOP of the south. After this visit, I think I'll stick to IHOP. We went in the early evening for breakfast for dinner, we were the only customers at that time, which we thought was good as we'd get a lot of attention. We were wrong. We sat down to a dirty table, our waitress was barely paying attention to us, and when it came to paying the bill, we had to get up and go to her after multiple tries at calling her over. Food wise. I ordered the All-Star Special that came with two eggs, toast, hash brown, waffle, and your choice of sides(bacon, always). The waffle was thin but nice and the bacon was crisp. The rest were just tasteless. Toast was more like warm bread, eggs weren't cooked all the way, and the hash brown had a dirty taste to it that I couldn't eat more than a single bite. Seating right near the kitchen also, you'd think they would keep it clean to keep up appearances. The place was a mess with dirty dishes everywhere and old food sitting around. It made me really regret eating here. All in all, I will never visit Waffle House again. The establishment was dirty, the majority of the food was horrid, and the service was basically non-existent. Next time I want breakfast for dinner, IHOP will be getting my money.

Me and my boyfriend came in for a cup of coffee to search the web. There were three workers where one of them was sleeping on the counter. The service was slow and I had to hand the waitress the plates for when the person came to clean. While I was gathering the cutlery the waitress stood and waiting for me to hand the dirty plates. The coffee cups were not clean either. When we asked for the check we did it quietly as not to wake the sleeping co-worker on the counter :) I am sorry for this bad review, but will not come back and do not recommend it.

You know what you'll never hear in a waffle house? Good Job cleaning up.

This place is the only place within walking distance of Candlewood Suites that I feel comfortable eating at with the exception of the Subway across HWY 90. The food quality and the cleanliness are a 3 but I do not go there for these. I go for convenience (4) the price of the food (5) and the service (5). Friendly attitudes, good service and an overall expectation of customer satisfaction when compared to attitudes and service found elsewhere in Avondale LA. Neke and Emilia usually take care of me and have me feeling like it was an investment well spent. This place has my weekend breakfast penciled in as well as dinner once during the week. Coffee is only 1.65!!!!! Love this place. Makes me like Avondale just a little bit.

While it can't compare to the gloriousness that is IHOP, I still love some Waffle House, and not just because watching someone fry an egg while they're smoking reminds me of my dad (thanks, Jim Gaffigan!). My favorite has got to be the hash browns. I'm not even sure if they are really made out of potato, but they are really good and made with a TON of butter. I don't think I have actually ever had waffles here. I usually get a cheeseburger or something. This is one of those places that can best be described as, "it is what it is". Do you want greasy food that isn't good for you? Are you out late and have lowered inhibitions? Then Waffle House is the place for you!

I loooooooooooooooove me some waffle house. As previously stated by others.... their hashbrowns are heavenly. Should def be called hashbrown house instead of waffle house. The food is priced pretty cheap, so no worries there. The staff is friendly, and I especially enjoy the staff when its 2am and i'm drunk! :) If you are on a diet, I would steer clear of this place. You will probably feel really really fat after eating here. I do, but I don't care... the food is fantastic. This is diner dining at its finest ladies and gents! And as always, keep if classy waffle house! :P

I made a to go order here and they told me it was going to be about 15 minutes. I was told that they think we were prank calling them because it's a big order. They had to ask the manager if the order is eligible to be placed. I offered to pay with my credit card information and they said they didn't do that. It was two all stars, scrambled eggs, bacon, white toast, pecan waffles, with triple hash browns, a fiesta omelet with triple hash browns, and a chili on the side. I waited the 15 minutes and finally arrived. As I was expecting my order to be ready, they said I didn't tell them which meat I wanted for the allstar breakfast. He didn't want to cook the meat and waste the meat if that wasn't what I wanted. I know I did tell them which one I wanted. But they were obviously playing on the safe side because they thought it was a prank call. I asked how long it would take, and he said 5 minutes. And as I waited, I literally watched him start cooking my whole order. I waited another 15 minutes for my food to be ready and I asked how much longer would it take. He said another 5 minutes again! When our food was ready, my friend noticed his chili was missing and so he asked. And they didn't even realize! If they wrote the order correctly and started to cook it, there wouldn't be a problem. I watched the cashier write the order on a ticket, calculate everything on a calculator, and then post the total on the register. And so I got home ready to eat and I received a plain waffle rather than pecan! So much for wasting my money and time. I will definitely never come back to this location again. And the sad thing was, not even one person was in the restaurant when I arrived! So how can you mess up an order when you're not even busy?! Heads up to everyone that wants to make a to go order here.

I'm giving this Waffle house 3 stars because on some days it's a four star, but sometimes it's a two star at best. The food quality is always good, customer service is what differs on each visit. Somedays you walk in and are greeted with "Welcome to Waffle House!" while other times your ignored until you finally seat yourself.

I am thinking that it is going to be difficult for me to give any Waffle House a low rating. A particular location would REALLY have to screw thing up for me to not show them some love on Yelp! Two words: hash browns!!!!!!! I order them all the way all of the time! This place came through and really loaded them up nicely for me. Our server was awesome. She was really friendly and made us feel at home! We received our food very quickly and had absolutely no complaints at all. I sure wish there was one closer to Chicago!

I don't know where to start. I stopped by to grab a Texas Cheese Steakmelt. I love those. As I walked up to the door, a waitress walk up to me from onside of the dumpster with another employee, doing God knows what and asked if I was dining in or ordering to go. I tell her its a to-go order. I'm thinking she's going to go somewhere to wash her hands or atleast grab some gloves, she walks right up to the food grab my bread bare, germ infested hands & butter the bread. She fixed my sandwich the same way, came to me so I can pay, I give her my money, she licks hr finger tips and gives me my receipt! Gross! Having a long day as it was I took the sandwich, left & threw it away. A total waste of $5 but I couldn't eat it at the thought of how it was made. Can you say board of health?! I do not recommend this wafflehouse! If they don't have on gloves, turn around!
