Roasted duck, scallops cooked to perfection, Creole tomato basil soup, Irish dip sandwich made Paleo friendly... Oh my! Every dish had flavors that worked together almost magically. For instance the duck with wilted salad and and goat cheese encrusted with Sage and a few other flavors- altogether they are magic.

It's pretty insane that it's taken me this long to get to O'Briens. This lovely restaurant is, after all, practically located in my back yard. Nevertheless, it wasn't until recently that I was able to sit down and enjoy a meal here. We stopped in for a Friday for lunch at around one. Even though it was a bit after the typical "lunch rush' there was a good crowd in the medium sized dining room, but we were still seated quickly. Just a heads up: if you are looking to have dinner here, you are going to have to make a reservation. The place is pretty small and I would bet that they get packed at dinner time. Everything on the menu sounded just amazing. Duck quesadillas? Whoa. Prime Rib sandwich? Irish Dip? Everything just sounds incredible. I decided to go with the Panko crusted gulf shrimp on a bed of truffle mac and cheese. Yeah, you read that right: truffle mac and cheese. You should know by now that I love mac and cheese and I adore fancy mac and cheese. As soon as I saw that mac and cheese was on the menu at this fancy pants restaurant, I was in. After a short wait out came the shrimp and mac and cheese. WHOA. This food is amazing! The shrimp is perfectly battered and fried and the mac and cheese is creamy, rich and ridiculously good. Not only that, but the portion is more than generous. Before my entree came, I was regretting not getting an appetizer, but as soon as this magic was put in front of me that regret vanished. The staff was super attentive and was really good at refilling my iced tea and coffee as soon as it was needed. They made sure that we were enjoying everything and had everything that we needed. Be aware: yes, this is the Westbank, but this is a fine dining establishment; please dress accordingly. As Morgan said, there are white table cloths on the tables and the service is top notch, so leave the short shorts and tank tops at home. I can't wait to go back and try more of this amazing menu! I definitely hope to return sooner rather than later, especially since the restaurant is so close to me.

My favorite steak house, and a hidden gem. The wines are always amazing, and even the house wine was excellent. The soup never disappoints; tonight it was lobster bisque(sooo flavorful.) The scallops were amazing; perfectly cooked, and the accompanying pork belly was fantastic. The barbecued shrimp app was large enough for a meal and the sauce rivals Pascals; I think it's better, but my date disagrees(although it didn't stop him from sopping it up and even putting it on his baked potato.) Excellent and super tender cut of filet. The warm, crusty bread with fresh butter is a bonus. We didn't have room for dessert, so took it home, but after a bite devoured it despite our full bellies; it was the chocolate mousse, which is pretty to look at as well as delicious. Service was very personable, and attentive. This is the.only non-Vietnamese restaurant that I'd actually cross the bridge to eat at. Never had a bad meal or complaint there yet.

No doubt best "nice restaurant" on the westbank. The location may throw you off (shares a parking lot with take-out window daiquiri place) and building is pretty small. But, yes there's a but, it's good stuff. Steaks that rival many of the better steakhouses and not just run of the mill sides either. The soups and salads are usually pretty good and the service is always friendly and attentive. Really it's an intimate place to have dinner with date. And, with the added bonus that you can get a gallon of 190 to go next door and see where that gets ya.

Awesome restaurant, I know one of the chefs there he's great! Very good place for a date

The atmosphere is very welcoming and the wait staff is very friendly. But that is not enough to give this place anything more than 3 stars. Everything I ordered was over cooked. The dinner filet was supposed to be medium, however, it came blackened on the outside and almost no pink in the middle. The asparagus tasted like the grill and the bread was more like toast. I will say that a guest at my table did order the grouper fish and it was delicious, so perhaps stick to the seafood when coming here.

My partner and I ate here Tuesday night I must say we both was very pleased with the whole experience. Our sever, Mandy was awesome!! I love red snapper and I must say they did a great job preparing it. My partner was craving prime rib and he said when it ate it it was like satisfying an itch. He said it was mouth watering. I will be going back. This is on my list of my favorite places to eat as of now.

This is one of my top 5 favorite places to eat in the New Orleans area. Hands down the best steak! I always get the crawfish boil risotto. Taste exactly like a crawfish boil with all the extras like sausage, corn and potatoes. Dinner is never complete without a creme brûlée. Its a small intimate dining room. The staff is always wonderful.

TERRYTOWN'S BEST RESTAURANT KEN answers the phone, greets you at the door, behind the bar making cocktails, takes table orders.... etc, etc.... and always most pleasant. Plus gives good directions to get there and go home. How can you beat it ! Yelp photos by other reviewers influenced our decision making. Ordered the following: Soup Du Jour: Eggplant with jumbo crab meat... Yu-go slurped it all up and said "good soup !" Truffle Scallop Salad: Pan seared scallops, spiced candied pecans, crumbled goat cheese and pickled red onions served over mixed greens and tossed in a honey truffle vinaigrette... slightly spicy dressing and seasoned scallops (3)... perfectly prepared... would have been happy with just this dish for dinner. Parmesan Crusted Gulf Fish of the Day: Grouper pan fried with whipped potatoes, sautéed baby spinach, jump lump crabmeat and Creole buerre blanc... large thick chunk of grouper seared crisp on both sides. Meat was moist not overly cooked and still flaky for a large piece of fish. Whipped mashed potatoes was gritty in texture and nicely matched with the spinach. Would come back in a heartbeat!!!

Anyone who know me, know that I'm not a huge steak. eater. I decided to get one on my first visit to O'Brien's. I had heard the phrase, "melts in your mouth," but I always assumed it was in reference to ice cream or cheese. The steak at O'Brien's flat out melted with each bite. Hands down, the best steak I've ever had. The sauteed spinach would make Popeye moist, and truffle Mac and cheese was top notch. I loved everything about the place.

I have died and gone to gourmet Heaven. I couldn't get past the appetizers there were so many wonderful things I had scallops seared on a wonderful little salad I had a bowl of crab and Brie soup to die for, Gordon R would be impressed. Hubby's duck was crispy skinned and pink perfection. I did not have bread pudding which seems to be endemic in Nola. Their crème brûlée was lovely

I agree with the consensus of 5 stars. O'Briens Grille is THE fancy restaurant on the Westbank with excellent food..."a diamond in the rough." The GPS took us to an incorrect location right off the Expressway, so we asked humans in a bar for directions and learned that 2020 Belle Chasse is close to LaPalco. The unassuming building looks like a warehouse. It can be easily missed. Went there on a Tuesday for lunch. Crab au gratin appetizer was excellent. Oysters O'Neil, nice flavor, but oysters were small. Tomato crab salad had lots of crab. Prime rib cooked to perfection. Andouille Black Eyed Peas Dirty Rice was just okay. Staff was efficient and friendly. Nice ambience, not loud. Lots of free parking in the parking lot. Eager to return, want to try the other items.

Had an amazing evening celebrating my birthday the other night here! Excellent service. We brought our baby with us and they were extremely accommodating with anything we needed for her. The waitresses were so kind to us and very thoughtful. The owner came around to check how everything was with our dinner. Food was so delicious, this is definitely the best and nicest restaurant on the Westbank. We will definitely be returning here for many special occasions!

I was a bit skeptical when my friend said to eat here because outside looks like a warehouse. But when I step inside it was a pretty fine dining area. It took me by surprise. As appetizer, I ordered the BBQ shrimp which was really tasty and I dip my bread in the sauce which wasn't too salty at all. Cooked perfectly. Also, I ordered the scallops, which was the best scallops I ever had hands down. On to the entrees, my friend had the dinner cut filet which was good. I ordered the brisket which was ok and the brown sauce over it was a bit too much for me. Overall the appetizers was a plus and steak was well cooked. Also the staff was really nice and on point.

Fine dining in the most unassuming of buildings. You'd never guess. This one really is a diamond in the rough, and by rough, I mean it shares a lot with a drive thru daiquiri place. First things first, don't be afraid of the Westbank, people. It won't bite. Make sure to follow the Yelp directions to bring you to O'Briens, because I've gotten lost using other navi sites. Remember, it shares a lot with a daq shop so be on the lookout on the right. You're really going to be like, "wtf, where did Morgan just send me?" You walk in, and are instantly realizing you've just made a terrible mistake wearing flip flops and a baseball cap (run back to your car, change your shoes post-haste, and cow lick that hair into something presentable). Once you come back in, head to your right unless you'd like to dine at the fancy bar if you chose to take this epic adventure solo. White tablecloths and giant wine glasses adorn the tables. They have great mini booths for those who like fine dining, but the comforts of a good booth. This place gets surprisingly busy, so I might suggest making a reservation. For those with specialty diets, I would talk to the staff before heading out that way. I feel like this place is "a stick of butter, what's gluten-free?, there's-bacon-in-that-asparagus" type of place; and that couldn't make me happier, but I'm sure if they can, they will accommodate. I will preface my dining experience with the fact that I would've never have known about O'Briens if it weren't for my Aunt and Uncle who adore this spot. The staff is gold to them and to anyone who has joined them here. The service truly is impeccable and the owner is just as hardworking as anyone in there to make sure your dining experience is exemplary. My Aunt and Uncle also like to order nearly everything on the menu, and send me home with at least 3 to-go boxes. Standout dishes to me are the Crawfish Risotto*, Jumbo Lump Crab Au Gratin*, Tomato & Crab Salad (can you tell I like crab?), and the petite Filet. The risotto is super rich and creamy with a nice kick to it without having to add hot sauce. The crabmeat au gratin has a ton of fresh crabmeat, and again, a heavier, richer dish that you can save the rest for when you're hungry in two hours catching up on Modern Family episodes in your PJs because you can't fit into that dress you were going to wear out tonight after that epic meal...but you're totally okay with it. My steaks have alway been perfectly cooked medium rare, though by this time after all the apps my fam gets, the petite is all I can put away. If you can manage, they also have a handful of great sauces they make in house that you can dribble all over your steak. #gluttonyismyfavorite Price-wise, I think their on par with other fine dining restaurants. What's great is since they're not catering to the tourist palate (no offense to the wimpy tastebuds of some visitors), they don't dull down spices to accommodate like some places in the Quarter might. Bite the bullet, drive to the Bestbank, and enjoy O'Briens. You'll be glad you did. *"Crawfish Boil" Risotto - Creamy risotto made with all the lagniappe from a New Orleans backyard "Crawfish Boil" (crawfish, potatoes, corn, onions, andouille sausage & garlic) *Jumbo Lump Crab Au Gratin - Jumbo lump crabmeat with a Creole Béchamel, topped with a blend of Italian cheeses

I was a little apprehensive when my family wanted to take to me to a restaurant that I had never heard of for my birthday. I mean I looked it up and was taken aback by the looks of this place.. I mean it's behind a daiquiri shop - on the west bank - for heaven sake! But to my surprise this place was phenomenal! We had crawfish cakes and lump crabmeat o'gratin to start and both were amazing. The filets were melt in your mouth tender. I still want more of my potatoes o'gratin. And the mahi mahi was perfect on so many levels! The fried green tomatoes .. I can't say enough. I was presently surprised by this restaurant and WILL return as often as I possibly can. This will now be my go to restaurant for special occasions! As well as a romantic outings!

My first time was for my birthday 5 years ago and I was a little dubious about this place from the looks of the warehouse. But when I stepped inside, everything about this place blew me away - the food from appetizer to dessert was fantastic, the service, exemplary (ask for Jerry!) And the bartender knows to make the PERFECT martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. I've been going there ever since, trying pretty much everything on the menu including daily specials and I have yet to find one thing that is not delicious. I'm truly a fan of this place.

Amazing dining! GREAT GREAT service! The filet was able to cut with a butter knife! Truffle mac and cheese was very delicious. The owner was very kind, was thankful for us coming in. This place would be perfect for any special occasion dining.

BEST place on the West Bank... possibly in the NOLA area. I've been here multiple times and have NEVER had a bad meal. Service here is second to none. That combined with great food makes this place the real deal!! Make sure and make reservations if you have a party larger than 6.

Tried this place for the first time on a Monday for lunch and it was EXCELLENT. I had the Cajun Cobb Salad which consisted of romaine, smoked gouda, avocado, egg, onions, and sauteed crawfish tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette. It also was supposed to come with bacon but i declined. It tasted so amazing. The dressing was not a typical balsamic vin...it was a little sweet. Also had the grilled artichoke hearts...OMGGG. I can't EVEN. They were so unbelievably good. Took a bite of some white chocolate bread pudding and it was super good, too.

The best restaurant on the West Bank! Excellent service and excellent menu. The bone in rib eye is delicious, so are all of the soups, ( I love the eggplant and the spinach with crispy oysters and blue cheese) and the crawfish boil risotto. The desserts are excellent also.

Hands Down the best place on the West Bank, and some of the best food in the area hands down. Matt is one of the best Chef's, and nicest men you'll ever meet. You will not be disappointed!

Came here got the Filet it was cooked to perfection. Waitstaff was also great Speed of service was great. Atmosphere was nice and cozy. Bread and a creamy butter are served while waiting your food. The reason why I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is the price point. The $40 steak does not come with salad or a side, those are both extras. So expect to spend over $100 for two. With money as no object this place is hard to beat. Or for a lady when a guy says I'll take you out to dinner anywhere this is that place. But for working people like myself I'll stick with the $20-$30 steaks with sides or even some really good bar steaks like Mobys for $12.50 with two sides and I'd say it's not as 100% as this place but at 90% with 2 sides for less than 1/4 the price Mobys hard to beat. Happy dining my friends. Price aside I would deff 100% eat here again but more of just small celebration type dinners

Went to this little place for lunch last week. Don't let the location or the building fool you. The food was great and the service was first rate. I started with the Smoked Gouda Salad, which was fabulous. For my entree I had the Tuna which was really good. All of the ingredients were fresh, staff was great and the atmosphere was exceptional.

I've been to O'Briens Grille a couple of times now and have been wowed by the food and the service each time. From a creative fried green tomato appetizer to the most delicious crab and brie soup du jour, almost everything I've ordered has been top notch. Lunchtime salads are fresh and more than enough for a meal. The wine list is decent (but I'm not a connoisseur, so wine snobs may disagree) and there is also a full bar for cocktails. Typically there are a couple of dinner specials, the last time we dined they were lamb and veal dishes, but each time before there was always a fish or seafood special. The service is outstanding - you would never guess from the parking lot that you are in for white linen service right on Belle Chasse Hwy. One of the owners is always on site to greet customers and everyone is made to feel welcome and you realize that your business is appreciated. A little on the pricey side, with entrees in the mid $20 range up to the low $30 range. Most items are a la carte, so a nice dinner with wine for 2 can easily end up at over $100.

This place is simply amazing. I've eaten everywhere in New Orleans and I would put this menu against the best in the City. If you are in this area and looking for 5 stars, try O'briens Grille.

Came on recommendation of friend, who is a regular. Definitely a comeback place. Don't let the outside fool you. You will be in for a pleasant surprise. Spinach salad was wonderful, perfect temperature, not chilled or too cold. Better than Caesar salad, but still very good with good toasty crunchy croutons that didn't taste like they were out of a box. Oysters O'Neil were very good with a mildly spicy Hollandaise. Medium rare filet was the perfect temperature and melted in your mouth. Prime rib medium rare could have been a little less done. Grilled asparagus had a nice outdoor grill flavor. Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée was good, about average. Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake to die for. Service was excellent, friendly, attentive, from all team members, not just our waitress. Owner came by several times to check and see if all was OK. 5 stars for sure! Maybe best kept secret on the West Bank!!!

This has been my favorite restaurant for the last year. It has what I believe to be the best steak or at least one of the best steaks in New Orleans. The service is amazing, the decor beautiful. Highly recommend having a reservation. For a first-class steak restaurant, the prices are up there but well worth it. I would recommend O'Brien's to anyone, it never disappoints.

My wife and I tried O'Briens Grille for the first time last night and overall it was a nice experience. It is great having such a nice fine dining restaurant on the westbank. From the outside you would never think that this is a white table cloth establishment because the inside is very nice. We were greeted very warmly at the door. I had reservations for two and i do recommend having reservations From what I can tell, it's a one room dining area type restaurant. I believe there was a bar in the adjoining room. I love the way the dining room is set up. We were in a booth for two and it was quite comfortable. Our waitress was very nice and friendly and did an excellent job all night. I was going to order an appetizer until I found out the ribeye I was looking at was 22 oz.. Ordered my steak medium and my wife got her petite filet medium as well. I also ordered the potato au gratin and she ordered the steamed broccoli. My steak was very good and cooked perfectly but i noticed in some reviews that people mentioned that the steaks here are better than Ruth's Chris and I don't agree. Ruth's is the best but having a steak this good just 5 minutes from home is wonderful. Unfortunately my wife's filet was overcooked. It was well done not medium as she ordered. She didn't want to complain but i would have sent that back. She still liked it but could have been better. She didn't care for the broccoli either, saying it could have been cooked a little longer. My au gratin was very good. All in all I will be back because there were many things on hte menu i would like to try. It is expensive as a dinner for two will easily cost you 100.00 with tip

Z - O - M - G. Who the hell would have thought that the Wank had a place like this?!!?!! Everything I had was DAMN DELICIOUS, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere so surprising (it looks from the outside like it could be a tragic daq shack or a shady strip club or any other variety of seediness)! We had the barbecue shrimp: something that I have not been overly fond of in the past but which O'briens changed my whole perspective. SO DAMN GOOD. We also tried the scallops, which were equally amazing. As I was getting after these appetizers, I was thinking to myself how surreal the experience was - here I was on the Wank for a business lunch, eating grub as exquisite as the best places I have eaten in the whole city. For serious. I had the grilled tuna steak - a sushi-grade tuna seared ala sushi. It was the bomb. I can't even get into it. This is one of those restaurants that you leave and immediately begin scheming a way to get back as soon as possible. I'm saying, words are failing me here. GET THEE TO O'BRIENS!!!

I have been to O'Brien's many times over the past year, and loved it each time. They are definitely the best kept secret on the Westbank. Their cuts of beef are some of the best in the city, and their wait staff are very attentive. I've had their prime rib...best I ever had. Their filets and ribeyes rival the best in the city. So far, I've only had the Oysters Rockefeller and Scallops apps, and both were great. Desserts are excellent as well. The only item I didn't really like were the shrimp and grits. It were just underwhelming. I have been to all of the supposedly top steak places in the city, and O'Brien's Grill tops my list.

Went for dinner with my wife and son. Everything was awesome. Service- Glen , our server , was knowledgeable and quick. He was great. Food- steaks were cooked to perfection and my wife's fish was very good. We also had barbecue shrimp appetizer and crab and Brie soup which were delicious. The lettuce wedge salad with onion, bacon , and anchovies was great as well. Beverage- the old fashions were so good I had 3 of them All in all a great meal , this restaurant has to be one of the best on the westbank We can't wait to go back and enjoy a fine dining experience, thank you O'Briens.

We loved this place. Definitely make a reservation we called the same day and got in, just not til 930pm. The owner did call us himself to let us know an earlier time opened up but when we informed him we couldn't make it he was fine with it and reassured me multiple times that our original reservation was secure. I have the give the wait staff credit we were the last ones in and they didn't rush us at all. The staff gets full credit, very attentive but never pushy, which is a hard balance and they pulled it off perfectly. Now to the food..The BBQ shrimp was some of the best we have ever have, a must get if you like shrimp but I wasn't impressed with the crab bisque just a bit to buttery. The ribeye I had (bone in) was cooked perfectly, medium rare, and one of my friends had the veal which was very tender. A slight complaint is another friend ordered the ribeye cooked medium well and it was red inside, but it was a very thick steak so I think they felt time pressed to please us. Our drinks were quickly deliverer and delicious. We had the bread pudding ala mode for dessert, excellent. Overall a great dining experience just be ready to pull out your wallets it's more of a high ticket kind of a place. Worth the price tag though in my opinion.

I absolutely love this place. We went here the other day for dinner after a LONG day for both of us. We didn't have a reservation and were greeted and seated by the staff and owner Ken. Its always nice to see friendly faces when we go out to dinner. Well the best part is that they keep changing the menu to try new things and its usually AWESOME. Only thing is that every time they put a new item on the menu, an older item is gone....its so damn good. I want it all. I have been hooked on their prime rib for years and recently had their filet and it was amazing. Not like other steakhouses which soak their steak in butter. This place does it right. You taste the steak and it melts in your mouth. Its late at night and I'm writing this review and its making me hungry. Next time you go order: Apps....scallops also the oyster cheesecake Entree...can't go wrong with either the filet or the prime rib Sides...the cream spinach is DELICIOUS Dessert...white chocolate bread pudding

We went tonight for our anniversary and for our appetizer we had crab meat dip (that was pretty good). For the entrée I ordered a Dinner cut Filet cooked Medium (39) and she ordered the short ribs (32). As soon as I cut into the steak my girlfriend noticed before I did that it was raw, not rare, RAW! So i asked the waitress(who seemed like she was uninterested in being there) if she would take it back and make it medium. So she did and 2 minutes later brought it back and it was cooked up to right below rare... I would have sent it back but I did not see our waitress for 20 mins and by that time my girlfriend was finished. So i asked for the bill and to my surprise the steak was on the bill. I did not take a single bite of the steak before she took it away. I firmly believe that if you eat the steak you pay for it. But in this case I never tasted it... Yes, I paid the bill without even asking or making a scene. The gentleman who brought the check I have reason to believe was the owner. He did not ask if everything was ok or ask how he could remedy the situation. I heard the chef was changed very recently and that could be a reason. I was so disappointed I really did not want to drive to the city ever weekend for a good dinner but after this I truly believe that I have to go to the city to get great food. I am attaching a picture of the twice cooked "Medium" steak to show I am not making this up. Yes the color inside the steak is still purple... I really really wanted to like this place....
