I placed a to-go order this time...the Eggplant Christopher (again), the grilled chicken club, a side of Mac & Cheese, a milky way pie, and the pecan bread pudding. The Eggplant Christopher was a hit again...loved it! The grilled chicken club was good...the chicken was nicely seasoned and char grilled. It was topped with melted cheese, 2 thin slices of bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, on a sesame seed bun with french fries and a pickle wedge. Everything looked and tasted fresh...just wished they weren't so tight with the bacon. The Mac & Cheese was also good...lots of melted cheese baked on the top for that added extra cheesy taste. The Milky Way pie was yummy...it was cold, rich, chocolatey, gooey, and silky with a semi-hard chocolate cookie-candy-like crust. The bread pudding was disappointing though...it was dry, and burnt around some of the sides and bottom. It lacked sweetness, moistness, flavor....just aweful in everyway. It was a large piece but what good is that if you can't even eat it because it taste so terrible. $7.00 down the drain. I wish they would find another recipe and burn that one. The customer service was excellent this time! I will definitely be back...just not for Bread pudding.

I really liked my experience at Phil's Marina. I love the view of the lake. You can choose to dine inside or on the patio overlooking the lake. My waitress was friendly and pleasant. The blue Martini was sooo good. I had the spinach dip with home made chips delish. I chose the seafood platter which was loaded with fried shrimp, catfish, oysters, and stuffed crab. The batter was very flavorful. The menu has a lot to offer salads, po boys, fried seafood (including soft shell crab), and they also had some signature daily specials like Mahi Mahi topped with crawfish and mushrooms. Reasonably priced items. I will definitely return.

Quiet Saturday when we visited, we elected to sit outside but be prepared to look through heavy plastic out to the boats. The first time I visited here a couple of years before the arrival of the plastic, guess it might have been put up to keep the birds out and the heat in but personally I think on a nice day it would be nice to have one or two sections rolled up. We ordered shrimp and crab cakes and enjoyed both, in fact the crab was large pieces instead of the usual mashed up mush. They have Heineken beer on tap served in ice cold tankards a real must to accompany the shrimp and crab cakes. The young ladies who were on duty that day were friendly and very knowledgable about the menu and when we enquired about the Sunday oyster special, gave us the details.

Three words: deep fried pasta. We came off Honey swamp tours and asked for a recommendation for where to go for a late lunch. The place was a little hard to find (google has the location wrong), but the food was good, and in large quantities. Everything was fried.

Great local digs, can't beat the price Fat tire on tap $2.75 and Bakers Doz Oysters $11. The owners had a fab Italian Restraurant pre- Katrina and now it's seafood and some of those delightful Italian Favs on the menu. 24 fried shrimp dinner is also a deal at 12.99$. Great seafood too- crayfish boil, blue crabs, and Royal Reds with hot butter! And great prices!

Seafood is good, I had the platter and boiled shrimp, both great.

We used to live in the marina prior to Katrina, so we ate here a lot. The last two times we swore never to eat there again. My food was cooked wrong, came out soaked in grease, so I sent it back. The waitress brought it back to me and said they told her it was fine, and just to eat it. Then the last time was New Year's Eve I ordered an open faced roast beef sandwich. They had raised their prices, and we were stuck, since we'd been drinking. Ten bucks for soggy white bread, cold beef, and clumpy, tasteless gravy. We didn't even eat it. Never been back, never will.

We split the fried seafood platter, and everything on the plate was delicious! Our server Elizabeth was nice and friendly and had the menu and beverages offered memorized. She could answer anything. We each had deserts, the creme brûlée with house made whipped cream and the Reese's pie were very good. The location was a little tricky to find and the entrance wasn't obvious. The restaurant is on the first floor of the yacht club which is upstairs. It's casual and you can sit outside kind of on a closed patio. I would definitely go back for their seafood.

My family and I sail here from time to time to have dinner. We absolutely love this place but, consistency is key for me... And that just isn't the case here. I ordered the same exact meal a week apart and the crab sauce they put on top of the tuna Zachary was totally different and not nearly as good as the first time. Also, if you order the Ruby Reds shrimp(I think is what they are called)...Be warned they DO NOT replace the "dead" ones nor do they mind giving you half a shrimp.

So we are here on a Sunday and it's open seating with a beautiful view. We have started with the royal reds and they are pretty good. The side salad is simply lettuce but the dressings they offer are homemade.i got the red snapper something and it's good. Honestly this place is good but it's really good for a Sunday night when other places are closed.

Took a group of 10 here for a Christmas dinner. The service was OUTSTANDING. It's not easy taking care of a table of that size and our server exceeded any reasonable expectation. I had a steak and macaroni and cheese. I was not overwhelmed with it, but it was very good. The rest of my party had a variety of menu items and they all looked very good. No one complained and most had enough food to ask for a to-go plate. I had eaten hear quite a long time ago and it wasn't that good. I was reluctant to go back but I am glad I did.

Truly enjoyed this place, great atmosphere being right on the water. Beer was so cold ice was floating in it. Really enjoyed the food here, I had the salmon, with Mac and cheese as a side. My coworker had the soft shell crab. Both were very good!

I'm a little mixed on my feelings with this place... Service was great, and the location was awesome... we ate on the patio overlooking the dock. It was truly a pretty spot. Where it was lacking could have been my fault though- We were leaving New Orleans and wanted something besides fast food to get us through the long drive home when we found this place. With no yelping research we went in blind and probably didn't order the good stuff. (Now I want to try the fried bow tie pasta w/ the crab dip, but alas...) I ordered a lb. of peel and eat Royal Red shrimp (We don't get this amazingly delicious shrimp in Tennessee, so anytime I find them, I order them) ... Not very impressed. They weren't deveined, and they just tasted like muddy water to me :( Huge disappointment. ((Note to the cook- These are so easily split down the back to get the "vein" out, and then cooked in a little butter and garlic, these could have been absolutely amaze balls.)) My BF ordered the shrimp po boy and said it was actually pretty good... We took the other half with us for the drive home, and even 5 hours later after sitting in the car, it was still pretty good. All in all, I would go back, if i was ever actaully in Slidell, LA again,... but I would order something they are more known for...

Let me tell you! If you're looking for some consistently fresh and delicious seafood... This is the place to go! I have been several times and they have never done me wrong. I have tried many dishes and have been pleased each time. You can't go wrong with Phil's!

Great local hidden gem with a great view of the marina. Excellent service and seafood. Boiled shrimp was seasoned perfectly and the soft shell crab po boy was amazing.

Wife and I have been going 4 times a year for many years. Everything I have ever had was excellent. The ladies are always smiling and moving. Great hustle in this place. I'm a little picky about cleanliness in restaurants and this place is always spot on. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Had great service even during crowded times. This is one of only 2 places I go regularly where I have yet to have a negative experience.

Great location! Food was pretty decent. Husband got the Mahi Mahi fish tacos blackened and those puppies were dang delicious! I had the philly, not too shabby. Roommate had the shrimp and grits. Not a fan of grits but he said they were delicious. Beers were cheap and very frothy double bonus on these hot Louisiana summer days! We sat in the outdoor patio that was air conditioned, woohoo! However thou it smelt like plastic due to the plastic table covers and plastic curtains. I think they would benefit from opening up the patio!

Had lunch here. Great wait staff. Great harbor view. Food is fabulous. Always bump into someone you know!

Had the fried soft shell crab with mushrooms and artichokes. The sauce was delicious, although rich. Maybe some plain rice would have been good with it. The side dishes were a bit limited. We ate by the windows but it was dark and the shades were drawn. Seems like the views are probably good and there are many tall tables by the windows to enjoy it.

The food and service was great. It wasn't overloaded with salt and grease... yumm yumm. The target audience seems older, but it made for great people watching.

One of the best in the area. They've combined Marina & Salvaggio menus, since Salvaggios was lost in Katrina. Gator bites are great, fried bow-tie pasta & crab dip wonderful. Best boiled seafood. Great atmosphere & one of the only places in area that can handle large groups.

A funny thing happened on the way to eat at Phil's Marina... The evening's odyssey began with the picking up of my folks from their hotel in Slidell. Being that we wanted them both to experience some fresh Louisiana seafood during their stopover in moving from the west coast to the east coast, Katie and I opted to try out Phil's thanks to Yelp's ever so trusty Yelp reviews. Sure, why not, we thought? It's only a couple miles away from their hotel. No prob... With my trusty Android-powered GPS-enabled smartphone by my side giving us turn-by-turn directions, off we went confidently into the darkness. With a turn here, and a turn there, and another turn over there, we soon found ourselves approaching our evening's goal. At each curve and turn we could feel our approaching fresh fish plates (possibly covered in crab) and then suddenly... A figure appeared on the side of the road. We pulled over. Why? Shut up. It was some short dude named Hoggle. He asked us why we were headed towards Jareth, whoever he is, and warned us of The Bog of Eternal Stench. Whatever. What do you know little dude? And no we don't want your damn peach. We don't want to spoil our dinner. Some musical number broke out, but I took that as my queue to hit the gas... A minute later my GPS said we were there, but all we saw was a fence going on for what seemed like miles on one side, and nothing to the left. Where were we? What was going on? Then the shadow of what appeared to be a bull crossed the road in front of my car. But it had two legs and walked upright. A bipedal bull? I stopped to ask the bull-man for directions and instead he went off on some weird tangent on how his mom was a human who fell in love with some ocean god's prized bull, his father, and how she tricked him into impregnating her by wearing a cow costume... Woah woah. TMI bull-dude. TMI. That was enough of that conversation. Now feeling almost completely lost (almost as lost as you are reading this review) we continued on turning this way and that, and then what seemed like the 237th time, another figure appeared. This time it was some really cold looking dude who looked like Tim Burton's Joker who wandered by next, muttering something incoherent about Danny. Danny? Who's Danny? Huh? I didn't pull over this time, due to the fact he also happened to be lugging around what appeared to be a fricking axe. So much confusion. Finally after retracing our steps, we discovered Phil's was the place located in the dark, with the unlit signage facing the wrong way, and complete lack of anything anywhere denoting any kind of restaurant. Sure. Why not? You know what. I don't even want to talk about how the food was. It was fine. The food was fine. Order the fried bow tie pasta. TL;DR - I give this spot a rating of "G" for being damn near impossible to find on the first attempt, even with a map and a girlfriend.

It was just okay. Service wasn't that great. I got the catfish po-boy. It was nothing special. The macaroni was pretty good, but I still wouldn't go there again.

Love this place. I go here a lot! Food: consistently good Service: Good Atmosphere: Very casual Seafood fare with a hand full of non-seafood items. They have the typical seafood dishes plus much more. The crab dip with bow tie pasta is A MUST! Everything is good here, I have not had a bad dish. Keep in mind this is a very laid back and casual place. DO NOT expect fine dining here. The service is good, but if there busy the waitresses seem to have a hard time keeping up. Most of the time I have had no problems. Of course it goes without saying that your service quality will depend on which server you get. I would recommend it for families or just a simple night out to grab a bite. However, I would not recommend it for a first date. This place is a keeper.

It was a wonderful experience - my whole family arrived without reservations. They status and served the food in no time - and what food: crab cakes - light, fluffy and delightful; salads were crispy and the home made creole dressing (French mustard vinaigrette) was tasty. We were only going to have a snack but ended up eating a full dinner despite reservations at a swanky NOLA restaurant. Now we will have to eat dinner twice!

Food was good, service was less than impressive. Don't go on a busy weekend, other than that it would be up to (4) stars. The details of poor service need not be expounded upon. Our waitress was overworked and the management was not responsive to our cooperative critique. We did not harass the waitress or cause any problems; we simply asked to speak with the manager. He only presented excuses and solved no issues through the rest of our visit while our waitress was apologetic. So unless you go when it's easy for management, don't bother stopping by.

Fantastic fried shrimp and delicious baked macaroni. Must also try the alligator bites appetizer. The owners used to also have an Italian joint that no longer exists but they pulled some of the Italian items off that menu and now serve at Marina Cafe. The veal is divine. Beautiful view at sunset and s pretty lively bar during football games.
