Cute little old-time soda shop in the heart of historic downtown Slidell. The kids enjoyed the ice cream as well as looking at the memorialize on the walls. I had an old fashioned ice cream soda with creole cream cheese ice cream and cherry syrup. It was wonderful.

Awesome ice cream shop, excellent place to take the whole family. A must visit if you're in the area. They have this very old shooter game, very fun to play. They now have a Star Wars pinball machine. My daughter (3 yr old) loves to play this fishing game, all you do is hit the button to lower your hook and catch the fish, very fun and you win tickets to trade in four candy. This place is awesome! The ice cream is very delicious.

Such a neat old-fashioned soda shop! Wonderful selection of dessert items in a place with excellent staff and nostalgic atmosphere. I only ordered a snowball, which they offer year-round, but they also have a diner serving food similar to Friendly's. This place not only has character, but also judging from the pride of the owner and maintenance of the soda shop, it has an exceptional commitment to quality and great service!

Visited here twice in the last few months, the first was a Sunday during a street fair. The place was very busy but they seemed to have thought ahead and had enough staff to cope. Love their root beer/coke floats. Glad to see the place reopened after Isaac.

Second time going here and just wasn't impressed. The atmosphere is fun and nostalgic and great for an icre cream...but that's it. The first time I went here with my family, we had ice cream sundaes. The sundaes were great and they had a wide variety to chose from! I would go back for a nice treat but when it comes to their food, not so much. We got the roast beef poboy & egg salad poboy today and they messed our order up. The sandwiches were dry so we asked for condiments- still just mediocre. Also, the lunch deals come with a soup or chili. If you are familiar with watered down broccoli & cheese soup or hormel chili than you know what to expect. We were hoping to love the lunch today and make it a spot for this summer but unfortnately we just were not pleased.

After having lunch across the street a couple weeks ago, we stopped by the Soda Shop...this time..they DID have homemade ice cream.. We ordered a Coffee Toffee Malt to share and it was YUMMY!!!!! This is still one of the few places that still makes there shakes/malts with a "real" shake machine..not a blender... Can't wait to go back when I'm craving a malt! :)

This place is so cute and old fashion, I love it! All of the ice cream is made in-house, all delicious. We have only ever ordered ice cream goodies, so I am unable to comment on the food. I would go out of my way to go here! I love that it's local and it fits in with the old town spirit of Slidell. They even had soda-jerk summer camps, how ridiculously cute is that!?! Every kid's dream! I hope they are doing well and stay open forever! I only wish they made their own cones...maybe that will be in their future :) there is nothing better than the smell of fresh ice cream cones!

It's a rare thing to see a retro styled soda shop. Old Town Slidell Soda Shop is one of those rare places. Adorned in dozens and dozens of ice cream scoops on the walls, here you can get some old school dessert. Ice cream? Check. Toppings? Check. Floats? Check. Sundaes? Banana Splits? Double check. House made sodas? Check. I'm sorry, are you diabetic? They even have no sugar added ice creams and sundaes. I'm really digging this place and wish I was in Slidell more just to visit the Soda Shop. I only tried the ice cream sundae and not the typical cafe style food. For me this is the kind of place to finish off the night, especially after having dinner across the street at Tacos and Beer. Next time I'm in Slidell I'll make a special stop just to visit the Soda Shop.

Highly recommend stopping here!!! It's a unique experience like stepping back in time!! One of the three workers was kind of short and ride, but the other two made up for lack of friendliness!! Hamburgers are phenomenal!! Hot dogs are huge and tasty, fries were good, and the homemade ice cream shakes were DELICIOUS!!! They even make real whipped cream for the top!! There's a game room and a garden area out back with an old truck, bird area, and garden well! Well worth the money!!

Stepping into this Old Town Soda Shop is certainly like stepping back in time, the owners have done a fantastic job at recreating memory lane from the decor to the homemade ice cream and sodas. I have a love hate with these ice cream counters that create their own unique flavors especially when I know this trip may be the only opportunity to indulge in their goodness. Fortunately for me they were very willing to share samples to help make the decision process easier. After trying several flavors it was oblivious that I would need to pick one, after browsing for a few more minutes it was clear the banana chocolate chip on a sugar cone was going to be my flavor of the day. One giant scoop packed into a sugar come so creamy and delicate nothing beats this homemade goodness. I am so glad we chose to carry these out and continue our trip otherwise I may have chosen a second scoop to validate my first choice. The service was exceptional the location is not very far off the interstate and so worth the short drive into old downtown. I highly recommend you take your driving break here you'll be better for it.

What a neat little place. The shop was very vintage and the service was friendly. The atmosphere was different and helped us remember this place after our vacation. The ice cream was so good and better than anything from a grocery store. The prices were a little high but the food was above average. Our kids who are 9 & 10 loved the games, fire truck, and out door area. If you get a chance to pass through Slidell this is a stop worth making.

this place is so adorable. I love places like this. why wasn't this place around when I used to come here monthly??? WHY? lol. anyway dragged my grandma here last night once I saw this on yelp and it was beyond delicious. we ate at so many ice cream places this vacation and this was probably my favorite. I hope to be back before I head back home...... chocolate chip you will be mine!

The Olde Town Soda Shop is very cool & has some character. The ice cream is delicious (and homemade) and the other foods, like burgers and fries are also good. Only reason I left off one star is because it is quite pricey here. Great place to bring your family or to hang out with some friends.

Only place for coffee and ice cream on Sunday afternoon in old town Slidell. Great spot, very nostalgic. All they need is an espresso machine.

The Soda Shop is a great place to grab a bite to eat. I'm particularly fond of the chicken salad sandwiches here. They also serve hamburgers, roast beef, BLTs and hot dogs...your typical small cafe type of fare. The real star here is the ice cream. It's all made there in the shop and its so creamy and delicious. They have shakes and malts of any flavor you can imagine. Banana splits and root beer floats...oh my. They also give fantastic birthday parties for children. For around $200.00 you'll get a private room, a party attendant who takes care of everything, a cake, decorations including the cups, napkins, etc., ice cream sundaes for each child and drinks. I've had several parties here and barely had to lift a finger. They take great care to make sure that your child AND you thorougly enjoy the party.

I absolutely love the old timey feel of this place once you walk inside. As soon as you walk in you feel like you are in a time warp. Not in a seperate drinking fountains kind of way but more like Marty McFly ordering a Pepsi Free kind of way. Once you open the door there is a big juke box full of old(and new) songs, and an old fashioned soda counter with 20 ish flavors of homemade ice cream, The guy behind the counter greets you complete with apron and paper hat. He spit's a 50's soda fountain look if you can look past his tattoo'd sleaves. The ice cream is great! The texture is perfect!. When you ask for a scoop in a cup, you get an old school metal ice cream cup that stays cold while you eat it. My daughters got bubble gum, cookies and cream, and cookie dough. All were great. They even had a flavor called Playdoh and it looked just like a bunch of different colors of Play-Doh mixed together. I tried to convince my kids to get it to no avail. Me? I just had an old fashioned nectar soda. So good. The only bad part is I got the smaller one as I wished for more. I guess I'll just have to go again. We enjoyed out treats at one of their booths while playing checkers that happened to be at the table. Each booth also has their own Jukebox but none worked so maybe it's just for decoration. There is also a video game room for the kids to spend more of your money. The only drawback is it's in Old Town next to a burnt down building and a few bars. The area could be way cooler if they'd fix it up a bit. I'll be back to get my nectar soda fix and to make a kid eat Play-Doh

What a step back in time. The Old Town Slidell Soda Shop has character. You will see a juke box like the one you would see on an episode of Happy Days:) Several old ice cream scoopers line the wall where the booths are located. The vinyl booths are another old classic. Now the best part is the homemade ice cream which was delicious. You can choose to have a cone (sugar or regular) or a cup of ice cream in so many yummy flavors. This is a must see and visit. The customer service was phenomenal the young man working today was very pleasant. Treat your self to a blast from the past.....truly nostalgic.

Pros: - yummy frito pies and great chili - the awesome kind without pinto beans - plenty of seating - games available to play with the family (checkers & chess) - a handful of novel flavors (the creole cream cheese was like a fancy smooth vanilla) - an impressive collection of ice cream scoopers hanging on the wall - a fun retro ice cream shop ambiance - friendly and attentive staff - ice cream cups (when eating in the store) come in awesome metal ones like the olden days Cons: - The ice cream flavors were good, but not very unique or memorable given the price ($3.30 for a small scoop).

We stopped by on Father's Day to try this little spot. It was fantastic. We ordered a Vanilla MilkShake ("white cow"): Root beer float ("Black Cow") and a hybrid scoop (bubble gum/cotton candy). All the ice cream had a unique creamy texture. We later found out all the ice cream, soda and whipped cream (among other things) are all made fresh in the shop daily. There is food available - cook to order; as well as Sundaes, Splits, Ice cream Sodas and Louisiana favorites like Sneux Balls year round. Pros: this shop is nostalgic and it's something out of the movies in a 1950's type of way. Great for anyone who likes to listen to tunes off a juke box while eating an "All American Meal" (This is on their menu-- Hamburger, fries and Milk Shake) or just in the mood for a cool treat on a warm summer night. Staff is great, welcoming and fast to deliver. Con: Um...Nope, not a one. =)

Such an amazing shop that brings you back in time. Perfect for families, friends, and dates. The muffalata is huge and completely worth the money. So rare to find an ice cream shop that makes their own flavors, but the flavors are spot on! You can also get creative and make your own soda float with whatever flavor ice cream you want. An awesome place in Slidell!

This is the cutest freaking place ever. I loved it. So perfect. Perfect little shop. You imagine a soda shop to be like this. We went during the towns little art street festival. Loved loved loved. Will go back.

(5)Holly H.
Not exactly a "soda" shop, they do happen to have the best ice cream I've ever tasted though!
(5)Heather D.
Best place in Slidell to get ice cream!

This place is wonderful! It's an old time ice cream shop. The ice cream is made in house (or locally). It is a must for anyone. We make it a point to stop by once a month. Great selections and service! It's a nice way to top off a dinner in town.

So glad this place came back! Mr. Frank does A great job of keeping it original. This was our go to place when we were in high school. Great snacks, food, an people. So glad I get to bring my kids there now.

Great place. Went there as a kid often. Katrina took it out but it came back and is still great.

I love the Old Town Soda Shop, come here if your looking for the best ice cream in Slidell.

Cute little old-time soda shop in the heart of historic downtown Slidell. The kids enjoyed the ice cream as well as looking at the memorialize on the walls. I had an old fashioned ice cream soda with creole cream cheese ice cream and cherry syrup. It was wonderful.
