This place is kind of out of the way at a marina. The food all looked good, but I got the bbq shrimp and they were not all that great. I peg it as just an ok place that is handy for boaters to eat at.

We've had several meals here and all just awesome, top quality all the way, fantastic smoked oysters, gumbo, and entree's surf and turf, any fish dish, christophers red snapper is great, and steak is a high point for Nathan's as well as their fish dishes. Wonderful service and really great nightime specials. The service is outstanding (tip of the hat to Amy for the great service the last two times we have been there. Chef Eirich was the executive chef at Galatoire's and has definitely brought 4+ star dining to the Northshore.

Wanted soup and salad was told soup wasn't made!! Got the Caesar salad as my entree, my friend asked for a side Caesar, when I got mine I thought wow this isn't very much for the price I mean after all it's mostly lettuce!! Well they brought my friends "side" salad and it was almost the same size as my "entree" salad!! I definitely walked away hungry. Service was very slow, we didn't mind as we were catching up, but you wouldn't want that if you were on lunch or had somewhere to be!! We were told the kitchen was slammed but it wasn't packed. My friend got chicken salad and said there was nothing in it, no grapes, pecans etc barely any mayo, mostly dark meat?? Anyway wasn't a great experience, but I'd try it again just get something different.

Nice view on the porch , but pretty pricy for lunch , and all of our food could only be termed mediocre or worse. Nobody really liked it. I think they need a new chef badly. Wouldn't really recommend.

I definitely love the view at Nathan's. I tried the Southwest steak wrap. I personally thought it was good. It was greasy so it may not taste good to everyone, but I liked the flavors. It had tender steak, bell peppers, onions, cheddar cheese, and a sweet and spicy salsa. My only complaint is our waitress forgot to bring our appetizers out, but in her defense it was really busy.

Very formal dining room with white tablecloths - and prices to match. The Tues-Thurs dinner specials and the 2-for-1 lunch special for $15 appear to be good deals but the $14 flavorless fish almondine with overcooked green beans was not worth it nor was the similarly priced "blackened fish tacos" which were actually a single large flour tortilla wrapped around fish, cabbage, and lots of cheese and served like a burrito. Too much cheese and tortilla overpowered everything - and the dish was clearly not "tacos" as the menu had stated which immediately sends a bad message. When the highlight of the meal is an above average salad it's never a good sign. For a $45 lunch including tax & tip, this place just didn't cut it and I will certainly not return for dinner - I know business is tough but restaurants that charge high prices for marginal quality can't be surprised when customers don't return.

Really fantastic fresh seafood and great service. The fish almondine was incredible as was the redfish with shrimp stuffing. Be sure to finish the meal with bread pudding and you won't be disappointed. This is a new favorite and we will definitely be back!

The location is good and it's fun to get to via boat. The balcony dining is good but limited by the lack of larger/nicer views. The service (especially by Andy) is 5 star. The seafood is where I'd stick to on the menu. I'm not a fan of their steaks after trying the filet and ribeye. They look like good cuts but the charbroiled style isn't for me. I've always enjoyed the seafood: oysters and fish. Bar is nice and has a good selection. The dinning room is also pretty. Good, finer dining in Slidell.

I'll rate this very good for Slidell but there is a lot of room for improvement. I've been twice, once we were seated indoors and the other night was on the balcony. The balcony seating is not condusive for people hard of hearing. The noise of the cars crossing the drawbridge next to this balcony is quite deafening. So I suggest the indoor seating with a window overlooking the bayou. Word to the wine lovers: go on a Thursday night when the bottles are half price! So now we all know the profit margin is at least 50%! The wine list is short and just ok. That really needs improvement. One day I was talking with a restaurant critic from Philadelphia and I asked her how she reviewed the restaurants she didn't care for and she said she always liked to say something nice so generally she'd say the portions were tremendous. Nathan's is a good restaurant, could use improving, but the portions really are huge! The best appetizers we have found, so far, are the crab claws (excellent), calamari (tasty and not greasy), and the grilled asparagus topped with lump crabmeat (Fabulous). Next time I go I am hoping for my own order of the crab topped asparagus. Wow! The duck and tasso pasta is bland, it's alright, but nothing to write home about, except to say there was so much of it. There was a special snapper dish I had one night that had lots of great flavor but I could not eat it because it was floating in butter, I could feel my arteries coagulating. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and pleasant.

Wonderful dining room and attentive staff. Definitely do not go here for a steak because it's not their strong-suit... stick to seafood selections! Wine list needs to be re-vamped. Decent venue for out-of-town guest(s) or a date because of the local SEAFOOD fare and wonderful atmosphere. Just order a fish dish and a cocktail and you are set (stay away from beef and wine list)! :)

Went here tonightband arrived at about 915pm. Seated immediately. I had the pecan crusted snapper which I highly reccomend as it was super tasty and amazing. My date had the tuna and loved it. Very good experience.

My wife and I have ate there several times, and have great meals every time except one, which was good. That is why I only give 4 stars, instead of 5. The fried fish was the best we ever have had. Service has always been great!

My husband and I have eaten at Nathan's several times, and have enjoyed the meal each time. The food is always fresh and delicious, prepared well, and served quickly. Most recently we went there for "Italian night" where you get three different Italian dishes (lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and canelloni)...plenty of food, very good, and extremely reasonable price! Service is generally friendly, although the servers seem to lose focus sometimes. The small-ish dining room is pleasant, leaning toward elegant, although larger windows would offer a much nicer view of the bayou. The formerly outdoor veranda has been glassed in to create additional dining area, minus heat and noise. (Might be a good idea to completely remove the interior wall to open up the view.) We recommend Nathan's, and will certainly be back ourselves!
