We ordered a chocolate with raspberry filling birthday cake for my sons first birthday and this bakery did not disappoint! This was my first time using this bakery and I will use them for every cake I need from now on. The cake looked like the picture we showed them and it was moist and very flavorful. Everyone at the party raved about the cake. Thank you Marguerites. P.S. His smash cake was free and it was white cake and tasted great also!

As I was driving by PJ's, I saw this little place and had to check it out! Going in, the place was kind of small. I'm pretty sure someone was getting a cake ordered or something. Anyways, I ordered a few chocolate turtles seeing as Angie's review was extremely convincing. I tried the turtles and they were absolutely delicious! They were the perfect combination of chocolate and cookie. The second thing I got was the chocolate cake, which was nestled into a small white box with their label. The chocolate cake was really moist and smooth. The turtles were $1.25 a piece, and they also sell turnovers for $1.75 a piece. Kind of on the expensive side I guess, but if you're looking to treat yourself, this place isn't half bad. The only thing that I found disappointing was the lack of variety. There weren't a lot of cupcake flavors, and the icing was plain. Not really decorative, which was what I was looking for to give to my professors and friends. Other bakeries seem to have endless assortments of cupcakes and cookies, but this one seemed a bit too small. Other then that, the place is worth a try if you're nearby.

I've had numerous cakes from here through my aunt, and every single one has hurt my feelings. I told my aunt stop wasting her money and invest in another bakery. The cake was very dense and smothered in sometimes bitter globs of frosting that are probably made of lard. Save yourself the trouble of over spending for something that isn't of quality.

Do you guys remember McKenzie's turtle cookies? Oh. My. Word. My grandmother in Arabi would get a dozen every time we would visit her as children. I remember getting so excited seeing that green and white box on her kitchen table and savoring every delicious bite of that cookie and promptly asking for another. She would usually gently chide me by saying, "Now, Angie. One is plenty," in her sweet Jackson, Mississippi southern drawl while handing me another anyway. :) That is one of my most cherished memories. I am fortunate enough to be able to relive that memory every time I get turtle cookies from Marguerite's because they taste just like McKenzie's did. Just like them. They are so yummy! I just bought my first king cake here from Marguerite's today and wow. I used to be all about Randazzo's king cakes but this one is...dare it say it? Way, way better. I just got the plain one and wasn't expecting it to be so great but boy, was I wrong. It's so soft and moist it almost melts in your mouth. Delicious and so fresh. You've got to try one and see for yourself! Get some turtle cookies too!

I've been enjoying Marguerite's King Cakes every year for the last 10 years. They are amazing!!!!! I've tried other cakes and been so badly disappointed. Once you've had the best, the others don't stand a chance. My personal favorite has always been the cream cheese/cherry-filled cake, but I've yet to try one of hers that I didn't love. Marguerite is a true gem, as well. So sweet and super generous. I'll remain a loyal customer, as long as she's in business!

Awesome lady that runs this place, I've had the pleasure of working for her one Mardi Gras making king cakes. Good pastries and cakes also!

Ok, this is a hard one. Marguerite's king cakes are, to me, the best in the land. I can't say the same about her other pastries (I've only had samples but they seem overly sweet and on par with grocery bakers), but her king cakes are wonderful!!!! I first was introduced to them when Community Coffeehouse sold them for a couple of years and have been hooked ever since. They are worth every penny they charge ($30 for a medium size). I highly recommend the cream cheese. The dough is perfect- chewy, but not too chewy- with the right amount of cinnamon, a sweet almond icing (that seems to work really well on the king cake), and the cream cheese is actual real cream cheese (not the weird goo pumped into the store-bought king cakes) that is baked in. My husband and I sometimes drive all the way out to Slidell to sneak an off-season king cake, but are delighted when Mardi Gras rolls around and we can pick one up in Metairie.

I attended a wedding June 8th, The wedding cake & groom's cake were made by Marguerite's. The presentation of the cake looked like it was from a magazine. So elegant. I don't know who decorated this cake but you could see the "love" through the decorations. And taste...amazing...The groom's cake was in memory of the groom's father and him fishing. The cake itself was Lemon cake with raspberry Filling. Needless to say it was gone before the night was. Their staff deserves a big hand in fulfilling this bride's dream. I know where I'm going when I need a cake!
