I don't have much to say about this restaurant other than for some reason, it's NOT as good as the one on Gause, but it is still much better than most average Mexican restaurants. The last times I've gone here, it was simply to try it out and I was actually astonished when I realized for some reason even though it was the same company, it wasn't as good. The ambiance isn't the same and the food didn't seem the same. But still, better than fast food tacos. The portions are large and they don't skimp you on cheese or any sides.

This place is getting Worse every time I go. In the past it was my go to Mexican restaurant in Slidell for 15 plus years. They now hire the most disrespectful waitresses. They are always rude and always have a bad attitude. I don't know what's going on here but this place just needs to shut down bc they are losing customers daily. The waitress this time started us out with chips that were crumbs wtf bottom of the bag seriously CUNT. Then when she served us drinks she came up to one person at the table and handed them all the drinks for the table( like here bro you pass the drinks bitch). Then she refused to fill our glasses (table of 4 also her only table )so she gave us a pitcher and said help yourself. Wow seriously your only job is to fill cups and bring us food you can't even do that. Go hang yourself. If you can't even be a servant you will never amount to anything in life you peasant. Fernando choke on a cow dick. This place SUCKS DONKEYDICK. Hee-haw Hee-haw. I'd rather tongue punch a porcupines ballon knot than ever eat here again.

Cute little joint we spotted while traveling back to NOLA from our Swamp Tour adventure at the Pearl River. The service was adequate although there appeared to be only one server who seemed overworked and hurried. She however, had our food out to us in a timely manner, drink orders, timely, friendly. I had a cheese, enchilada, beef enchilada and some chii. All were of acceptable flavor. We had guacamole which was acceptable also.

Love love love! The food here is absolutely great! Never had a bad experience here. Very nice staff and everything comes out as you ordered it... Even if you're picky like I am. They make sure your food comes to the table how you asked. The restaurant needs updating but, that would be my only complaint.

Stopped in later after being out on the lake and too tired to cook... Decent Mexican food with HUGE portions. Had the Choriqueso with flour tortillas, and The Nachos Los Amigos as appetizers. Both were good and the portions are big. For entrees I got the Plato Ranchero and the S/O got one of the Specials. Decent enough dishes. A little over salted and bland. But nice sized portions. Service was fast and our waitress was polite and helpful with menu suggestions and explanations. I don't see myself as being a regular here, but for a quick bite to eat while in the area I won't overlook this place.

Not bad. Not great. On our way back from Nola hit this place off the highway. Service was a good (gal was new and did fine) the cheese dip was very bland. Almost chalky. Glad we got a small portion. The food was a little slow being it wasn't very busy. Overall the food wasn't awful. The chile relleno batter & breading tasted old. They didn't have any mexican beers on draft. Very very standard for mexican food. Would come back and order differently.

Party of three. Ordered Carne Asada tacos, Chicken Quesadilla, and Cheese enchaladas. Carne asada was good BUT they ran out of corn tortilla's at 3:00PM on Monday 4-12-12, so i had to settle for flour. Cheese Enchaladas was NOT GOOD, extremely salty. My friend only ate 2-3 bites. Chicken Quesadilla was NOT GOOD, chicken was bland no flavor. came with a side of guacomole salad. This was the biggest surprise, The guacamole was the pre packaged paste you buy at Wal-Mart squirted our onto the bed of light colored lettuce. WOW! That was incredible to see at a Restuarant. Guac paste instead of fresh sliced avacado. The salsa was the best thing this place offered. It was pretty good, along with the chips. Will not go back, Sorry

I wish I could rate this restaurant more stars but the service was really horrible. My boyfriend ordered the enchilada dinner with beans and rice, however, he received a plate of JUST enchiladas. To make matters worse, the server was not attentive whatsoever. Our drinks were empty for far too long. I was previously in the service industry, so I usually give servers the benefit of the doubt, but when the restaurant is practically empty I expect great service. Despite the not-so-good service, the food overall was pretty tasty! :)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
