I feel it is my duty to update Yelp with their new location on East Gause because this burger joint is nothing short of spectacular (and a Slidell classic). For starters, in all my Lee's experience I had never opted for the grilled onions until I decided to dine in at this location. The wonderful gentlemen behind the cashier not only told me I had to try them on my burger... He insisted that I do it this visit (as he was giving me a chocolate dipped Louisiana strawberry to sample...which was delish). Anyway back to the story... naturally I obliged his grilled onion offer and boy have I been missing out!! Lee's has INCREDIBLE burgers and the onions make them even better! They don't need ketchup because they are that good! By the time I was done pigging out and ready to roll out of the door the same awesome gentlemen came at me with yet another local sweet treat... Chocolate dipped wedding pops. Talk about good but, whew, I ate too much food. The gentlemen wasn't kidding when he jokingly told me "you aren't gonna want to come back for a year after I'm done feeding ya." I love this spot!!

OMG!!!! The best burger you will EVER have. I love this place and am so happy they opened in Chalmette so when I go visit my son we can have lunch there...onion rings are fantastic and the staff is always exceptional :)

Decent mom and pops feel, decent hamburger. Nothing I would feel a need to bring someone to experience, but not a lunch I regret either. Just okay! Don't stop by if you're in a rush, as they grill them to order- which I personally appreciate, but a lunch break might be rushed!

I honestly wish I could give this place 5 stars. I love the fact that they have been serving Slidell for many years and that they have a following of people who wouldn't get a burger anywhere else. I, however, have been twice and probably won't return. The burgers are ok. Not much flavor just a basic hamburger. The thing that turns me off the most is the cold shredded cheese on it. When I bite into a burger, the last thing I want is a lump of cold cheese. The lettuce is actually not good either. Has a strange flavor, but I'm not really a lettuce eater. Fries are also just ok, nothing special. Kinda like fries you would get at a tee-ball game. The service is also just ok. The times we have went the cashiers haven't been very enthusiastic. When you sit down, there's an unnecessary waiter that brings your food to you just 4 feet away and refills your drink if needed. I throw a couple bucks down when I leave even though I never need anything after getting my burger, but honestly I just feel it's unnecessary to pay a person to do this when it's slow. When the place is popping, it makes sense, but when we came in both times there were only a couple of people. It hurts my heart to say it but when my family comes down to visit, this place will unfortunately not be the place I recommend if they are in the mood for a burger.

Honestly, I'm giving one extra star for the historical significance of Lee's. Had I just wandered in on my own, without having heard the nostalgic history of the place, you'd see two stars, max. The burger? Blah, greasy and mediocre, at best. The fries? Not bad. The atmosphere? Old school roadhouse. The service? Once you've ordered at the counter, ad taken your seat, the service is ok. I love local establishments, but seriously, Five Guys puts out a way better burger, and fries. Maybe I just don't get Lee's because I'm not a NOLA native, or over the age of 75? If you are, maybe you'll be inclined to offer 5-stars like so many others have. Sorry, Lee, I'll be looking elsewhere for my next burger fix.

I love this place! The fresh ground beef laced with fresh chopped onions make for an awesome burger! The chili dogs are better than any place in town. I've put the chili on my burger, which sends it to a whole different level. The service is great they have a roving hostess making sure the drinks and condiments are full. The servings are large, we've never left hungry.

This Lee's is amazing. They have sweet potato fries. They have Hubig's Pies. They have Barq's Red Cream Soda. The Lee's in Covington have never heard of those things. How can it be a Lee's without Barq's Red? HOW? This Lee's is the real deal. They even have a sit down Ms Pac Man machine! Best burger in town!

Great Burger joint, we were looking for a one off place to grab a great burger and we found it. The only downside is that they don't have american cheese for their burgers. The use shredded chedar....... LOL I just brought slices from home and put them on it! Tasted phenomenal!

This is one of those hole in the wall burger joints that should be in your top ten list. The burger I had (Lee Dressed), was absolutely perfect. Grated cheddar cheese, grilled onions, nice griddle style patty, not too big, not too small. The onion rings were ok, the batter was flour based, and they weren't greasy. The addition of a fried Apple pie was a little different, no complaints here though.

It is what you would expect it to be; a mom and pop burger joint. The burger was OK, the fries were OK, the atmosphere was a bit too "old bar" for my personal taste. The staff was exceptionally polite and cheerful. I probably ordered wrong, but I was expecting my burger to have grated cheddar cheese but it came plain and that hurt the flavor/experience. I will return to keep my money local and away from the chains.
