There's a reason I love breakfast food so much. I'm a pretty good cook but I've never been good at cooking my favorite breakfast meals. I can't do eggs over easy to save my life. I love them, but can't make them. Same goes for a great omelette. The Big Easy Diner has great breakfast dishes and I love it here. It's nice, home style cooking and the service is great. They serve lots of other dishes but all I ever order here are eggs over easy or an omelette. They come with two sides...I usually get hash browns and bacon. Great food, great prices, great little diner.

Just what we needed after a long drive. Friendly southern service.. Club sandwich was made quickly and with a smile. Glad we went here instead of Waffle House.

I was traveling through Slidell to do a swamp tour and we stopped off for some generic diner food, which this place seems to offer. As a current northerner (Chicago) and former southerner (Alabama), I was pretty disappointed in the breakfast. The grits tasted like instant grits and the gravy on the biscuits tasted like it came from a powdered package (absolutely no sausage in it). The only positive was the pancakes (which the server recommended) and the service itself. However it was packed with locals who seemed to be ordering more sandwiches and burgers than breakfast items. My recommendation is to not eat here, but if you must, ask the server what's good and don't deviate. Or just get a club sandwich and fries--that looked good.

Not pleased with this place! Clean environment but food is just ok.... The staff are usually pretty nice. Our most recent encounter is the reason for 2 stars instead of 3. The young lady at the register was EXTREMELY rude. If you enjoy diner food give it a shot but my family will never return!

Nice little diner on the side road. It has a old time feel to it which is super cute . Southern waitresses! Chocolate chip pancakes aren't on the menu, so just ask! Hubby ordered the steak and eggs first time we came and it was pretty yum. This time I ordered the diner special. He ordered the awesome omelette. Be aware! These 2 come with A LOT of sides. All in all, food has always been good, great environment feel. And I believe this place is open 24/7! How awesome!

This is typical diner, serving items from breakfast to dinner all day long. The establishment is a little dated but clean. The servers are great and very polite. The cook during my visit was a little over zealous with cooking my order. The waitress gave us another order of the kid's breakfast. The food was ok, nothing to rave about our complain, it was delicious. I ordered the battered steak, eggs with toast and homefries. I just realized 8 hours later, they didn't bring out my home fries, they have me regular French fries. The steak was tasty and I would order it again but I don't think everyone would agree with my taste buds. The steak was like that Salisbury steak they served in school, coated with a seasoned flour based batter. The gravy was the basic white breakfast gravy. The eggs didn't seem real, it tasted like military chowhall powdered eggs mixed with real eggs. The fries were ok, the oil needs to be changed. I also ordered a coffee which tasted good. I came here during lunch and I was surprised there wasn't any lunch special.

Fantastic food and fantastic service!! So glad we stopped here on our way home from New Orleans! Both the pancakes and the burgers are great! The waitress was prompt and the food was ready quickly. Great food at a great price- wish we had one in our hometown.

Not sure where the last review went but don't bother going here for dinner. Service was terrible. We had to get up to get our drinks and the waitress was rude. For didn't match the description on the menu and I have had TV dinners that tasted better. Prices are also high for a diner.

This place is ok. You have to tell them you want fresh bacon, otherwise you get the bacon that had been pre cooked and is horrible. That holds true for all of the breakfast meats. The pancakes are the best I have ever had a plus. And if you waiter is Hydie you are in good hands she is the best.

The waitress said they had the best burger in town, so I tried it, but honestly I would go to LA Pines or Times grill before I would go back here for a burger. The breakfast was a beter choice than the burger, but again I would choose LA Pine. Not bad, but also wouldn't recommend it.

I love breakfast here! It's always clean, servers are friendly. Food comes out hot and prepared as asked. It's a bit spartan in atmosphere for a local place, kind of resembles chain decor. But I go back!

A little high priced for eggs, bacon, hashbrowns. Eggs fried hard are fried hard alright.

The special soup tonight was stuffed bell pepper soup, pretty decent! The waitress Amanda was charming, the restrooms are a little rough. The music should have been New Orleans style instead of 1950's generic diner. The deep fried food was decent, but the French bread was hard and thin. Iceberg lettuce is good on po-boys but it is boring on salads. The cheese on the baked potato wasn't melted. This is a really good idea, with just a few changes this chain could be a really good successful chain.

This is one of my family's favorite places to eat. The food comes out quickly, the prices are reasonable, and the waitstaff friendly and attentive. The only downside: on Ash Wednesday, they were out of shrimp, but loads of catfish (yuck). Oh well.

I've come here a couple of times for breakfast. Don't really have too many complaints just that the food wasn't anything really spectacular!

2nd visit here, this time Saturday lunch which was quite busy with families but the staff easily coped with all patrons. These burgers taste the way I remember them before the big chains came along.
