We love carabbas. The tomato basil soup is delicious. Never had anything that wasn't good here. Love the pasta, steak or fish

Ate here at Carrabas with my daughter on fathers day, June 21, 2015. Short wait, only about 10 minutes before we were seated. Hostess was great, no complaints about the interactions with the staff, however... For starters, we had the mozzarella marinara. The cheese sticks were very dark brown with lots of black pieces of panko (?) hanging on it. As soon as the waitress set it down on our table and we all saw them, the waitress paused and looked at the cheese sticks for a moment, I think she was considering taking them back. The marinara was not like any marinara I've had before, very watery with very large chunks of tomatoes, not sure how you would be expected to dip the cheese in it, you would really need to scoop out the chunks and place them on top of the cheese, eating it similar to a pizza (maybe)? For starters, my daughter had the Caesar salad, which she could not eat. Her complaint was that it had way too much vinegar. I had the lentils and Italian sausage soup. In my opinion is that my soup should have been named Fennel soup with lentils and Italian sausage. They used WAY too much fennel, the fennel was overpoweringly dominate, impossible to taste anything else in that soup. I do like fennel, but not when it blows away my palate. After I ate a few bites, even my tea, my bread, even the cheese sticks tasted like fennel. The entree's took a bit over 1 hour to arrive at the table. My daughter had chicken parmigiana. The presentation side was fine, however as she began to eat it, she discovered that the bottoms of the chicken were burned black, making it too difficult to eat. She literally cut up one of the two chicken fillets trying to remove the burned parts and eating what she could get, but it was so chewy she just gave up. We both tried to order garlic mashed potatoes, but they were out, so we substituted Fettuccine Alfredo instead. The fettuccine was very overcooked and screaming hot, and the Alfredo sauce was not good; it had a very odd tang to it, almost like cilantro or something similar. My daughter did not like the Alfredo either. My entree consisted of prosciutto wrapped pork tenderloins in a port wine fig sauce. The pork was overcooked and impossibly dry, the prosciutto was blackened beyond recognition nor did it have any flavor. The purpose of prosciutto wrapping a pork tenderloin is to add / retain moisture by wrapping the pork in bacon fat. I am telling you there was zero moisture left, it was WAY past well done. The only thing tasty about my entree was the port wine fig sauce, that was pretty decent. The best part of the meal was the bread, the inside "soft" part. The crust was extremely hard; to the point that my daughter could not break the end piece in half, and when I tried I had to expend considerable effort to do so. While the crusty edge was hard, the inside part of the bread was fine, so we did enjoy that. Before we even placed our order, we had decided we were going to order appetizers and desserts, however by the time we had received our entree's, we decided enough was enough and skipped dessert. Every single part of our meal was seriously overcooked and/or charred to blackened oblivion. This was the worst meal I have had in a long time, and after hearing about similar experiences with Carrabas from my friends and family, I do not expect I will return here.

Used to love this place so much. The wait staff is not always consistent in their attentiveness and it doesn't matter if there aren't many other customers in the place. They quit serving many popular dishes like crab cakes and ribeyes. They only give bread now if you ask they don't add enough olive oil to the bread dipping spices. Stingy these days. It's annoying. The calamari and other breaded items are so danged salty, you can hardly quench your thirst for the next few days. It's pre-mixed breading so forget about that changing. It's quickly been knocked down on our favorite places to go list.

Service is awful and if they are packed food quality suffers as well. After my last visit here, I have no plans of returning.

Awesome lunch today. One of my co-workers had a pizza and the other had a meatball poboy. I had the meatball poboy too with a cucumber & cherry tomato salad and it was tasty, fresh and the perfect compliment. The bread was toasted perfectly just the way I like it. The ice tea was delicious as well. Our server, Crystal, was friendly, helpful and served us well. Our entire party agreed it was great! Gonna go back soon!

I tried lunch here recently. The lunch specials were very reasonable. My party each got the pizza & salad combo. I got the Quattro Formaggi pizza with a Caesar salad. The salad was great, crisp lettuce & not soggy with dressing and the dressing had a nice bite. The pizza was on a thin, crispy crust, nice blend of cheeses and sun-dried tomatoes. It was big enough that I had some to take home for another meal. My friends got Italian salads, and they looked great, too! Good, attentive service.

Just moved here from Colorado and Carrabas was definitely a comfort to see. We ate here and the staff was courteous and the facility was very similar as to the restaurant we frequented in back home. If you haven't tried this place, I suggest trying it even just once. But please, if you do...you must try their Blackberry Sangria. It's the best Sangria I have had in my life and I now make it at home to make sure my family and friends love it as much as I do. I only gave this place a 4 star since the food is wonderful but, as you can tell, not really the main reason as to why I enjoy this place so much. I really hope you enjoy it as well...cheers!

This is one of my favorite quiet, adult places. Order a beer or a blackberry sangria and eat wonderful food. It's not your normal spaghetti place. It's more sophisticated in their entree choices. This visit we had soup/salad each then I had sirloin skewers and pasta, he had wood grilled chicken and garlic mashed potatoes. Both were wonderful. Be prepared to spend more, because the appetizers, drinks and desserts are too tempting and tasty. I haven't tried anything there I wasn't completely satisfied with in the end. :)

This place is ok nothing here makes me wanna come back! Just ok, not impressed by food or service I had parmesan chicken with green beans and stuffed ravioli chicken was ok, beans were burnt tasting and the edges of ravioli was so hard I didn't want to eat it! Now for service side of things greeted and seated in nominal amount of time but it was 845pm Friday so mostly pleased service good till point of leftovers to be bagged was odd as waiter insisted on boxing up our food kinda odd but ok didn't really do a good job as he left out some things but overall I may go back and I might not, kinda undecided!

An excellent place to indulge in a quiet and relaxed evening with your spouse, or significant other. As long as it is not during work week evenings, (rush times messes everything up, crowded, service gets sloppy etc). Otherwise, Excellent Italian grill, mostly made near to perfection and the service (been here a few times), seems to always be pleasant and attentive to ones needs, they get an B+ in service, unless you get here between 4-6 pm then service will be sloppy. Taste is great, especially if you know what to order, if not do some research before on Italian grill and it's variety, so you won't feel intimidated as I've notice some are, to actually indulge in several of it's excellent dishes, this grill is not for spaghetti/pizza folks, for that go to a place that is not an Italian Grill, obviously. It beats Olive Garden that's for sure, don't expect super authentic momma's Italian sauce here either, yet close enough when it comes to "la carne" al fiorno. Ciao! (In the restrooms over the speakers one can hear English Italian lectures, you may pick up a few words). Desserts are great! And the wine depends on your taste, they have some good ones... I wouldn't recommend any youngsters and definitely no kiddos, for them kind chucky cheese will do.

I'm not one to give out 5 stars too often, but for the price, this is an excellent place for dinner. I won't take a star for this, but they aren't open for lunch. I had a filet medium rare, with vegetables, minestrone and a side of pasta in red sauce. The noodles were not over cooked, just a little on the firm side like I enjoy. Veggies were crisp and delicious too.

Carrabba's is one of the many restaurant chains to recently open a location on what has become a bustling strip on Youree Drive. There are other, more authentic Italian options in town -- I'm lookin' your way, Giuseppe's, Dominic's, and Olive Street Bistro -- but Carrabba's is more in the vein of Olive Garden, which is just fine depending on your mood, the size of your party, how much you want to spend, how much time you have, etc. The bread was warm and flavorful, and the fried calamari was crispy and delicious. The dressing on the Caesar salad seemed a bit watered down to me and was therefore missing a bit of the kick that you expect it to have. The pizzas looked pretty good, but being a New York City resident, I'm now spoiled when it comes to the pie. I went with pasta instead. Penne Franco featured mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and black olives, with a garlic and oil and ricotta cheese on top. I very much enjoyed it and left only a couple of forkfuls to take home for a late-night snack. Carrabba's is a welcome addition to Shreveport, but it's not easy to top the salad and breadsticks at my old friend Olive Garden.

I love the Chicken Bryan here and my wife absolutely adores it! I think it's one of her favorite meals here locally. We onetime hit this place on Valentine's Day and omg! It was like so slammed you would've thought we were at Wolfgang Puck's or something! I will be spending my 41st birthday here sooner than I would like (why can't it be my 21st?), but I do love Carrabba's that much, and I will also be spending it at the Double D restaurant and bar in Bossier City (see my reviews here on Yelp!) So, how's that for diverse celebrations on my birthday?

Went to Carrabba's for dinner last Saturday. We were in town for the River City Triathalon. This even happens every year, so you would think with so many people wanting to carb-load before a race that Carrabba's would be prepared. Not so much. Walked in with a party of six and told about 35 - 40 minute wait. That was fine. Wait was longer, so perhaps they should be better on setting that expectation. After getting seated, service was SLOW to the point of ridiculous. Got bread 15 minutes after requesting and literally we were about to get up and get some ourselves! 35 MORE minutes just to get our salads, which should have taken 10 minutes max. Then, more time to get the entrees and there were mistakes made. The only reason they get one star is when we complained to a pseudo-manager, we got ONE drink comped. That was it. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars. Just like staying at a Hilton property, I always know what to expect out of Carrabba's. We got the calamari, it was perfectly fried, and crisp. We got a Veggie Pizza, which was wonderful. There are no other words, and we got the Seafood Cannelloni which was decadent to say the least. I normally get the Pasta Weesie, but I went out of my comfort zone on the cannelloni and still came out on top! The bread was fresh and delicious, and the service was what I always expect at a Carrabba's. For the price, I'm not sure why anyone would go to a different chain for Italian food. I

Enjoyed my meals here. The calamari with the Italian pepper and lemon butter sauce is to die for as for as I'm concerned. I could make a meal just on this alone. Good pizza's; the sirlon marsala was very good and cooked to perfection; also enjoy the Limoncello bread pudding--different but very good!

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Heidi B.

Called ahead for a large group. When arrived, told it would be "about 30 min" before we could sit. Not good for groups!! No use to call ahead as well!!
(1)Melissa S.
The food was good when we finally got it. Service was terrible to say the least. That was one time I wanted to talk to a manager. I asked twice for a refill for my drink. My husband asked for a to go box twice. We had to ask for the bread.

We were just tired of bad service at Olive Garden and decided to try something different. Great service, food and atmosphere. We will be back.
(4)Judy W.
We have been here for lunch with little kids waiting for our order for one hour. We won't be back.

Recommend eating at one outside of Louisiana! Typical LOUISIANA BS service! Do Not Recommend at all! NOT at all!

(4)Tina C.

(4)Al B.
The bread is awesome! I've had several dishes, most are good but, the spaghetti could use help. I like this place but, an Italian joint with so/so spaghetti...atmosphere is nice feels cramped on a Friday night though. Service has been pretty good to excellent each time.
(3)Andrew L.

This is one of my favorite restaurants around here and certainly one of my fave Italian restaurants (I also love Monjuni's and L'Italiano). I know this place is a chain, I know, but I still like it.

We were promised the manager would stop by; that didn't happen. No other efforts made to address the poor service. Next time we're in town for the tri, we'll carb load elsewhere.

Perfect. How else can you describe Carrabbas in Shreveport? We drive from Kilgore, Texas over to Shreveport (over an hour) just to have their Rigatoni Martino or Pollo Rosa Maria. Everything is delicious, they offer call-ahead seating, the waitstaff is exceptional (except for Tiffany), and it isn't horribly expensive. If only they were closer, but then, I would be as big as a house!
