About Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.
The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.
Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Just ate here tonight, 10/19/13. I would really give this place 3.5 stars but since I can't give half star ratings, I must round up. Service was good. Maybe because when I arrived at 6:30pm, there were only 2 other tables. My date and I ordered the Thai chili calamari as our appetizer. $14. The order was huge. Well worth the money. However, the batter was soft, not crispy in any way. With the Thai chili, it made the already soft batter mushy. We ate half and pushed ourselves to, just so we didn't waste. Wasn't horrible but for the price, I'd rather get less quantity but more quality. All in all, I'd give the dish 3 stars. Probably leaning more towards 2.5 stars. I ordered the filet mignon. Truffle wasn't as prominent in the dish as I would hope. My boyfriend ordered the special of the night. A crusted flounder w crab meat fried rice and green beans. It was flavorful and moist. Two pieces of flounder. This dish was good for a fish dish. All in all, I think this place is a little too hyped. I would recommend for a nice fresh and clean meal. I'm sure since this place is so highly rated, it means they're consistent. Every dish was very delicious. Just not GREAT or memorable.

If you ever want an awesome filet or a cool dessert, this is the place to go. The carpacio is also one of my faves. Love this spot!

Easily has the best bartender in town. Drinks are amazing! Try the cucumber martini.

On a whirlwind weekend from TX, we made reservations after having read all the great reviews- and decided it would make for a great Saturday date night in the city. The venue is rather tucked away, in a small house-like building, where parking was limited. The dining room is not large, but rather quaint in size, my guess would be about less than 20 tables. I do have a few complaints , unrelated to the food. First, was the choice in music, which was a mixture of upbeat techno-lounge meets coffeehouse vibe. Not a fit for the dining experience at all. Additionally it was freezing in the restaurant, people around us even made the comment and women were wearing their dates jackets. The temperature outside was a more comfortable number, I.e mid 70's. So, between the teeth chattering and the fast musical beats, the smooth date night/romantic ambiance was lacking. That business aside, the food was great. We started with the crab appetizer, which was perfectly proportioned, followed by the farm salad. I opted for the rainbow trout which was seasoned beautifully served alongside a tomato and spinach panzanella which was also great. However the mushroom risotto that also adorned the plate, was bland and left something to be desired. The dish would have better had it been left off. My guy went with the filet, which was awesome. We also ordered a side of the truffle fries because of all the rave reviews about them. That was a bust, because while they smelled of awesome truffle, we couldn't taste any of it, nor any other seasoning. Not to mention the way they were presented- in a metal upright cone , which blocked our view of one another across our table because it stood so tall. This place is doing a few things wrong, because i believe they are trying to marry the idea of farm fresh, food to table with a trendy almost mod feel and in that they are missing the mark. Aside from those blips in their report card by my standard, this spot was fantastic.

Wow! Excellent food here folks! Let's start at the beginning. When we were looking for the place we drove by it twice. The first time we just missed it because it's very small. The second time we drove by and saw it but it looked like a closed business. We decided to go back and check and we're glad we did. When we walked in we felt underdressed in jeans but our waiter assured us we weren't. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. I ordered the Blackened Flounder and she got the Rainbow Trout. Both meals were beyond expectations. After dinner we got the White Chocolate Creme Brule which was superb and highly recommended. The waiter (Jacob "chops") was polite and professional and did a great job taking care of us. Overall great experience. I would love to come more often but I can't afford it! On the downside the outside of the building needs some attention. It honestly looks like a closed down building not a 5 star restaurant. Also I wanted a daiquiri but was told they don't have a frozen drink machine. Come on guys it's a 5 star restaurant get a frozen drink machine for daiquiri lovers. Those are the only two detractors I could find. Fix those and you'll be good to go.

For fine dinning in Shreveport, this place is consistently the best there is. Bella Fresca is in an old Pizza Hut building, granted they transformed the inside to be a cozy little place thats perfect for date nights and eating with friends, but I have to mention this because it's and odd location, and you'd be doing yourself a disservice to miss the opportunity here based on curb appeal. I've had everything they serve here, and if they have a "special," either my wife or I are going to order that. Bella Fresca is high end dinning, it's not the most expensive place in town, but you pay for what you get, and what you get here is flawless perfected servings of incredibly delicious signature dishes, served by the best wait staff in town. I've eaten here maybe 50 times in four years, and never once has there been any hiccup, mistake, or something that felt off. The drinks are delicious, the food is perfect, the staff is friendly fun and informative.

I ate lunch here on 3.3.11, and I thought it was great. Not trying to knock on Shreveport, as I don't even know the town really well, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality here. I had the field green salad, cornmeal crusted trout, and washed it down with two glasses of Decoy pinot noir. I liked them all, but I guess the quality wine was most surprising. Highly recommended for lunch.
(5)Leslie C.
This is one of the few upscale tasty modern American cuisine places in the Shreveport-Bossier area. The service is always impeccable, I have never had a bad meal, and it is such a cozy place! The Mother's Day Brunch is amazing! They have a decent wine list too. For a romantic evening, nice Sunday Brunch, or just a delicious inner, I recommend Bella Fresca!
(5)Sam D.
They refuse take call with relay service for deaf (hearing impaired). It would be difficult to make reservation.
(1)MJ D.
Quiet, calm, delicious. Excellent service. I hadn't been here for 2 years & I'm sorry it dropped off my radar. There is no specific cuisine theme, just an assortment of innovative dishes. We enjoyed the salmon appetizer & taco soup. I had a Caesar salad drenched with dressing (maybe too much for some, but not for me). Veal Scallopini over pasta. (I added salt). The pecan broulee was devoured by even those of us who "just couldn't have 1 more bite." $50 per head including 1 glass of wine + tip.
(5)Doug L.
One of the best restaurants in Shreveport. I take my wife here on special occasions. They under cook the steaks...so be prepared to send it back.

Chef Steve, this is a very belated Thank You. Thank you for catering my wedding last year. It was just fabulous. People came in from all over: Shreveport, Memphis, Boston, San Francisco, New York, London... and they all thought your food was slap-yo-mama good. (That's not strictly verbatim, but that's what they meant, I'm sure.) There was prosciutto. There was cream sauce. There were white truffles. There were crawfish. Oh my oh my oh my was it good. You made my Daddy proud. You made our guests incredibly happy. You even kept our VEGAN guests happy, full & satisfied. And the wine just kept on flowing, too. Thank you thank you thank you! THIS year, at the end of April, I was back in town for my girlfriend's wedding. We did a little bachelorette do for her at Bella. And oh what heavenly meal it was, with a great wine list to compliment our dinner --- and incredibly gracious service DESPITE the fact that we were all wearing light-up devil horns at the dinner table. Y'all are too kind. I'll keep coming back whenever I'm in town! You're one of my favorite restaurants, anywhere :) Sincerely, Wesley
(5)Rebecca P.
I love this place! Probably the best food for the price in town. The owners are usually there and remember you with a smile. The service has always been graet. Plus, you can't beat their happy hour. Most definitely would recommend this place for just about any occasion.
(5)John-Isaac C.
Had the PLEASURE of dining here while on business from Washington D.C. Wonderful experience with fantastic service and exquisetly prepared dishes. HIGHLY recommend!!! If you are staying out by the airport the short 10min drive is well worth the reward. The grilled filet mignon with truffle bearnaise and osso bucco were both amazing! Be sure to save room for one of the fabulous desserts including the best peanut butter pie I've ever had!
(5)Todd M.
I was recently visiting Shreveport from Los Angeles and had the opportunity to treat my family for lunch at Bella Fresca and all I can say is I wish there was a restaurant this great in Los Angeles! The ambience, food, selection, and service are all amazing and our server Darryl is incredible. I will definitely buy gift certificates and visit Bella Fresca whenever I'm in Shreveport.
(5)Joshua S.
I first went here in search of the famous Filet burger. That was many years ago. I would have given this place maybe 3-4 stars. The last visit I went with a date. I ordered something simple. It was chicken cooked to perfection on a bed of the creamiest risotto that would make you cry and pray to God because it was heavenly. To top it off the dish was drizzled with a blueberry balsamic glaze. It was perfection. Not much else I can say. The only downside to this place ( which isn't a big issue) is that space is small. And I mean SMALLLLLL.... but many great places are not huge. Being from DC and NYC I am use to small establishments. They make it work somehow. I will be back for more!
(5)Warren I.
Bella never disappoints! Great service from every one there. Great for a fancy night out or a working lunch. I have enjoyed everything, every time I have been here. It gets my recommendation to any one who is new to town or has not tried it yet.
(5)Angelica C.
The fillet mignon with truffle sauce was probably one of the best I've ever had! Being from San Francisco and hanging out in cities like NY and Chicago, I wasn't expecting much from this place. Dislike: -staff and restaurant guest staring us down, almost like they've never seen asians.....
(4)Kelly S.
It's our go-to place for romantic dinners or any other special occasions. I've noticed that weekends can be quieter than weeknights, which I'm not sure why. Good food, excellent services, and yummy desserts (my favorites are key lime pie and peanut butter chocolate moose cake). I started going there for lunch more often after realizing that how good the food is for just around $10. Instead of going to a busy sandwich joint, I prefer going here for a business meeting or catching up with my friends. I just wish they changed their menu by season or something to make it more interesting. But, it's just me. I'm sure some people will prefer eating the same good food over and over again.
(4)Roger K.
Excellent and enthusiastic service. Nice, quiet, romantic environment. Above-average wine list and good food. Try the Thai fried calamari appetizer - it has a nice kick to it without being overpoweringly spicy. The truffle fries are good, although I wish they were cut just a slight bit thinner. (but that's just a personal preference - I like my fries thin and crispy) The grilled yellowfin tuna was a little lacking in texture (just a touch on the mushy side), but perfectly seasoned and quite tasty. Overall, one of the better dining options in Shreveport.
(4)Blair C.
This was such a perfect place for us! The setting is beautiful, the service flawless. From the bountiful, perfectly prepared appetizers (including calamari, shrimp remoulade over fried green tomatoes, perfect crab cakes, and BBQ shrimp over stone ground blue corn grits) to the key lime pie and amazing chocolate croissant bread pudding with salted caramel sauce and ice cream, the food was superb. Follow all this with cappuccino and amaretto, and WOW.
(5)Aaron W.
Took my mom here for lunch and she loved it.Shreveport does have more than chain restaurants you just have to be willing to search for them.
(4)J C.
Excellent food, great service (with matching prices). Ask for James. You won't be sorry.
