Listen, this place might be okay for college students that might not know better, but this place has some major issues. It took 25 minutes to get our drinks. The drinks were brought out 2 at a time and dumped at the end of the table for us to figure out where they went. Then the server just left and we sat there for another 45 minutes until a guy in a tie came over and took our order. The place was not that busy! The food was good, but my sister ordered a swiss mushroom burger and it came out without mushrooms. In fact, the food just kinda slowly trickled out of the kitchen about 45 minutes after the order was placed. The burger reappeared with 3 little mushrooms on it and this idiot tells my sister that "There were no more mushrooms in the kitchen and that he had to find some." He's all proud of himself and there are 3 tiny mushrooms on the burger. Where did he get them from? The food was tasty, besides the burger issue, but it took an act of god to get refills and when he did come back after we asked him 3 times, he brought back a wine decanter full of Dr. Pepper. Really?!? At the end of the meal, he asked if everything was ok and we all sarcastically said 'yeah' and I was hoping for the check to get out of there. Well you know after another little while he asks if we are ready for the checks. I wanted to scream....Just as a point of reference, I am a studying to be a chef, and work in food service as a supervisor. I know the health codes pretty well. Not to mention that it's common knowledge that employees MUST wash their hands before leaving the bathroom. There wasn't any soap in the men's room, and not only did this guy go in there, when I confronted him about it he said that he knew there was no soap, but used the anti-bacterial foam in there. Not only did he admit that there was no soap and didn't go and replace it right then and there, he thought that it was ok to use the foam instead of washing his hands. Any health inspector will tell you that it is NOT OKAY TO USE ANTI-BACTERIAL FOAM in place of properly washing your hands! At this point I threw up my hands and left. The bad part is my brother's band is playing here soon and we were checking it out. The food was ok, but we had the worst service and I question the training and cleanliness of the staff.

I LOVE this place, let me tell you! I've never branched out beyond the burgers or sandwiches because, quite frankly, I'm addicted to their wheat buns. The lunchtime service can be somewhat sketchy, but it's still worth a visit (just try not to be in a time crunch.) When I come home to visit, I ALWAYS eat there at least twice. It's just a staple from my life in Ruston!

Local burger/sports bar in Ruston- home of LA Tech. For what this place is- it does it very well. The Good!: 1. lots of tvs and really good use of space- can accommodate big groups or small tables and you don't feel like you are sitting in your neighbor's lap. 2. This particular day... the beer on tap. Kinda need the hair of the dog...so to speak. (*puts on big sunglasses*) The "No Brownies til Brooklyn" Greatness!: So... I run- purely so I can eat. I like salads but I'm not a starving girl. My lunch was a cheese burger on jalepeno cheese bread, with fried onions and a side of fried pickles. It was sooooooooo good! Service great! Bar has appropriate frat and sorority, parents and newly minted college kid crowds for upcoming game- so little busy- but our waitress was prompt, sweet and quick with suggestions. Is there better bar food elsewhere? probably. Do I love that this thing exists in a small town? absolutely. Now I go back to the land of salads. harrumph.

Local restaurant that is all about la tech university, has traditional menu of burgers, chicken, salads, etc. many college kids eat here and alumni too as well as locals - parking lot can be difficult to maneuver and is graveled. Fairly large dining room can hold several diners.

Waited an hour for our food. The place wasn't even that busy. Service was very slow. Worst I've seen.

It's OK. Good for watching a game but I've had better bar food. Burgers are fine. Onion strings were so greasy I couldn't eat more than a couple. Nachos were a complete disaster with the kind of "cheese" you'd expect from a 7-11. Not a large selection of brews which is disappointing.

Good burger, really liked the jalapeno cheese bread option. Fried pickles were an added bonus. It was pretty quiet due to school not being in session. Lots of tv's for sports viewing.

Stopped by here on my through town. Do yourself a favor if you're passing through on I-20, skip Chilis. Go here. Good burger. Cold beer. Collegiate atmosphere.

I hate to leave negative feedback for a business that I usually like so much, but I really feel like I should say something. Went for lunch today and the food was great as usual but our waitress (the one with RED HAIR) was beyond rude! Her attitude, her expression, her lack of anything remotely even resembling a smile, and her lack of SERVICE almost make me not want to go back. If it wasn't for the other worker (she had on a black sweater, not sure if she was a waitress or a manager) we would have never even got napkins or refills or even a smile. This place has the best burgers in town hands down, but that kind of service (or lack of!!) will kill your business even if your food is good.

Thank goodness, I only visit home a few times a year, because this spot is amazing and I would have a ridiculous weight problem. I've seriously never had anything there that wasn't good, and I've tried a good bit of the menu. Top faves are definitely the quesadillas and paw claws. I miss this place! So fun on Saturday game days, too.

One of best local spots in town. Have great burgers with good options. If you leave hungry, it's your fault. Service can be iffy. It can either be fast or really slow (nothing in between). It's also right next to the railroad tracks, so it gets loud.

Really awesome burgers and sides. Pretty much the only thing I've ordered. But service is terrible. When you walk in you feel like you are in a bad part of town. Everyone just stares at you. Host(ess) doesn't sit you for a few minutes. The servers ask you several times what you ordered and sometimes still get it wrong. Staff acts like they're too good to put up with you. Other than that, awesome burgers and some pretty decent sides.

Great local college bar. Fried pickles are great and the first place I ever heard of Sweet Tea Vodka. Lots of fun and the staff is attentive.

My favorite restuant/bar in Ruston has to be the Dawg House. I love the chicken salad sandwhich. The bread is sooo good. Service isn't bad either. The usually have live music most weekends. They also have pool and darts.

Wow... such a contradiction, this place... The food was killer. The burgers are absurdly large and enough to feed two if you wanted. But everything comes with a price, and the price here is service. When I walked in, I stood there for about two minutes before a woman at the bar asked me if I wanted a table. (Well, yes, a table would be nice.) The server immediately got my drink, came back in five minutes to get my food order, and 10 minutes later, he delivered it. And it was wrong. Good, but wrong. I was dining alone, so when I was finished it was quite obvious. The place was fairly empty... about four other tables, four servers and the woman. I waited for 17 minutes (I did count), and no one brought a check or anything. I finally walked to the front, where I had to flash a credit card to break up the conversation between the staff. One came over, cheerfully rang me up, left me the credit card slip to sign, and walked off to rejoin his coworkers. Not even a "thank you." I could have walked out of there with their copy of the receipt, if I were so inclined. So, as a previous poster said, if you're not in a hurry, this is a great place to eat. If I do ever go back, I'm bringing my laptop so I can at least get some work done after my great meal. Lord knows no one will bother me.

This place isn't the nicest to look at but has shockingly cheap drinks on a weeknight compared to other bars in the area. I'm talking $5 instead of $9 for mixed drink. The place was pretty crowded last weekend and we were able to grab a table in the restaurant area since the bar was packed. The bartenders were quick enough. We didn't order any food but otherwise this place is a good happy hour or late night spot to people watch. Obviously, it's filled with Tech students of all levels of drunkenness. Will be going back, for the cheap drinks and to stay out of the cold.

Great burgers!!!!! I was visiting family and they suggested that they had a mean burger and they sure did. Meat is nice and flavorful. Had the blue cheese. I really like the buns as the sweetness of it it gives a great dimention to the burger. A little heavy so be ready for some heavy meal but it is worth it.

The food is very good, but cannot overcome the long wait & inconsistencies in our orders. My last hamburger order was completely wrong, but I didn't want to wait for a re-do. I have eaten there several times ( I take my kids there when I'm visiting them at Tech.) Give it a try, but allow plenty of time.

Great hang out for a college town. I was in town for business and stopped by for a burger. The Chipoltle burger was solid and the buns rocked! Gets a little rowdy at night with the typical college crowed, but great for lunch. The staff is great and the overall experience was awesome!

Burgers are awesome. This place is what it's set out to be.....a nice local casual place with drinks and good food. Service is ok.
