One star was attributed to this place because I cannot render it a negative zero! Two others and myself decided to have a bite to eat at the Log Cabin. There is essentially no room for waiting yet one must wait to be seated. Once seated we soon placed our order and waited for our dinner to be served. We waited. And waited. And waited some more. It seemed like an eternity had gone by yet our food NEVER arrived. The waitress kept our glasses full but she NEVER served our food. The final straw occurred when we saw that the people at the table behind us, they arrived well after we did, received their complete dinner while we were yet waiting for ours. Actually, another party who arrived later than us was also served while we never were. I have a theory on what the problem may have been that evening but it doesn't matter as I wouldn't want a meal from this establishment if I were dying and a meal from here could save me.

This place is alright and seems to be pretty popular and packed most nights. My favorite part is the cute grocer in the front that has local cajun favorites to take home and make for dinner instead. If you do done in, the menu is similar to Chilis or Logan's and nothing special.

I ordered a salad here once. Don't do that. This isn't a salad place. My friend got the ribs and I didn't try them but I can say they were HUGE and smelled/looked delicious. My niece had the country-fried steak and she had enough to take home for at least two more meals. There was too much breading on it for my liking but that is a personal preference. I shared the triple fajitas with my brother-in-law and boyfriend. There was more than enough to fill us up and they were delicious! Seriously. Delicious. I want more. Now.

One of most popular places in Ruston. Usually crowded at normal meal times, so you usually have to wait. Not much room in waiting area, but they recently added a market which adds space. Like the other businesses owned by these people, service is somewhat slow. Some items are overpriced, but many have large portions. Queso/cheese sauce is hit or miss. Sometimes it is the right consistency and temperature. Other times it can be thick and cold.

I will attribute the single star that I am forced to give to the rootbeer float that was absolutely delicious. Vanilla ice cream in a huge goblet with just the right amount of soda. However... the food was so bad that I still make sourpuss faces just thinking about it. I ordered a salad with grilled shrimp - can't go wrong! Except that they did... very, very, very wrong. I spent the first few moments after receiving my meal trying to figure out why the shrimp looked so good but smelled like burnt rubber. Then I remembered the one time a recipe I was making called for "liquid smoke" and after smelling the stuff I vowed never to use it. I'm 99% sure that the shrimp was saturated in liquid smoke. I was starving because I'd been on the road seven hours (NOLA to Lumberton to Ruston), and managed six bites before I completely lost my appetite. Good thing I had the float before the meal. My boyfriend had a burger. The waitress said they could only make it well done, but that it was still good. This should have been a huge red flag, but he agreed to it and was equally as disappointed as I was. My brother had a mediocre poboy and couldn't finish the beans. The only person happy with his meal was the 13 year old we brought along for the road trip who'd ordered a hot dog.

Great food and atmosphere. Hard to complain about staff when pretty much everywhere you go you get one or two isolated events of bad service. I personally have never had any problems and the food is always good. Gotten to know the owners and they are great. I eat there frequently and would recommend it to anyone.

Good steak and good choices. Dinner salas was weak - a bit on the high side but good quality and good service. Will definitely go back!

The worst overpriced meal I've had in a very long time. The margarita was terrible and tasted like sweet and sour syrup. It was so thick served in a small glass filled with sonic ice. Hardly "on the rocks". Fajita skirt steak salad - great name but that's about it. Bagged shredded taco lettuce, topped with two Burger King tomato slices and some fatty over salted steak.and that was it! I've never had a salad made if shredded taco lettuce. My wife ordered the blackened salmon and grilled veggies. She liked it. 1 beer, 2 margaritas, and the entrees described above - $48 before tip. Needless to say we will NEVER eat there again. Waitress was nice though, so it gets a star for the salmon and a star for the waitress.

Food used to be great, changes over the years resulted in mediocre food and service.

Service is awful but if you can deal with that the food is pretty good. We went last night with a group of 6 people and the waitress "forgot to put my order in" meaning everyone got to eat except for me. I had them just make my order to go because she said it would take 15 minutes and by that time everyone else would be done. They did not offer anything to make up for it. We payed full price for everything including my order which I didn't even eat. We were not offered free dessert or a % off...we didn't even get a apology from the manager! This is poor management at it's best! Eat there at your own risk...you may or not get your food!

The food here is amazing. Make sure to try the BBQ dip. The only real complaint I have is the service. I haven't always had the best service- usually a bit slow, and never really on top of drink refills and the like. It's definitely worth a visit though!
