Staff was rude. Coleslaw tasted like the sauce was only mayonnaise. Fries were cold. "grilled shrimp" looked like mini salad shrimp. My daughter's hamburger tasted like the burgers from elementary school cafeteria. Disappointing overall.

In from out of town, the place was packed so I decided to give it a try. I had the Cajun burger, which was on a hogie bun, and was a huge disappointment. I paid for grilled onions, I had to look hard to find any on there. The burger had very little flavor, and the fries were cool, not hot. I watched a lady pickup her order of chicken, the wings likely came off of a dove, not a chicken. Not at all recommend.

Loved that chicken. Not quite as good as Gus's Famous Fried Chicken but still very, very good. My whole party really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the cole slaw, it was sweet and creamy just the way I like it. We also ordered the frog legs which no one was really impressed by them. Overall I would definitely come back.

Get the spicy fried chicken!!! This is some seriously excellent stuff! I got the 2 piece with rice dressing; it was sufficiently filling without feeling miserable. The flavor of the chicken is fresh and crispy no grease drippings here! The rice dressing is basically dirty rice ( a new term for me, I had to ask what it was thus labeling myself "outsider" instantly!) it was delicious! Never tasted dirty rice like this! I ate every last grain! The place itself is tiny, old slightly dirty but I wasn't uncomfortable. It's conveniently located right off I-10 so easy to find! After your chicken fix hop across the street to Candyland for some awesome homemade fudge! It was a perfect end to our little Louisiana road trip; I will definitely be stopping here again on our next trip!

I love this place. The hamburgers are homemade and onion rings are too. Chicken pieces are large and yummy. The locals eat here for a reason. The only problem is they get very busy at times.

I know all about the best fried chicken. It's a nice little hole in the wall. The food is good. But being it was my First time there & having to wait. Watching people come & go was a disappointment. Having to wait 25 minutes for the chicken meal I ordered when they have plenty under the heat lamp will leave you with the bad impression. When I decided to go to the counter & ask about my food the girls working acted like I was trying to get something for nothing when they could look at my ticket & just hand me the food. If I ever visit again. Hopefully they will replace the counter help they have where people can enjoy there food & not have to wait so long. Other than that, the food was good.

First of all, as small places go, it is a great local place that the locals all recommend, myself included. The food is good, if you are into fried food. Fried chicken and most of the menu really isn't Cajun, except the seasoning they put on the food. The reason I gave this 2 stars is the service. The service leaves a lot to be desired. Snobby, opinionated wait staff is a real downer in any restaurant. If you don't like your job...change it.

Great food! Clean environment! Love the fried Chicken and shrimp poboys! If going through the drive thru I highly recommend placing a order ahead of time. The usually stay very busy.

Not sure what to say. Per the reviews this looks like a pretty good place so I either hit it at the wrong time or I just do not like Cajun food. The catfish was so greasy I could not eat it and my wifes PoBoy had so much grissle she only ate two bites. Should have had the chicken. It did look good. Won't go back.

Very disappointing if you are expecting real local flavor. It is really just cheap fried food, the kind that you could get at a fair. The shrimp and catfish batter was not very flavorful and the fries just ok. The burger was decent but you might do better at sonic. The bathrooms were disgusting with no soap and as if they hadn't been cleaned in years.

It's a small shack not in the very nice part of town but I will say they have the best fried chicken liver, fried chicken and fish baskets! It's a little hard to understand them when ordering.

Outstanding chicken. Reminds me of Popeyes in the early 80s in New Orleans when they still made everything fresh. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and the crust is awesome. So glad I stopped here. Found a new favorite spot on my drives to Houston!

Such an awesome place! The fried chicken here is definitely worth a stop, and cheap too! Definitely stop by while you're on I-10!

I'm giving it 5 stars as a fried chicken place. Good burgers and fried shrimp also. Good local place where you eat on disposal plastic plates. The plate lunches are good to great as plate lunches go.

Southern food.... Everything is made homemade. If your looking for a fancy restaurant do not stop here! This is Southern cooking at its best! Great food including rice dressing, fried chicken, shrimp, fried pickles, and much more!

This is the kind of local place that's getting hard to find. Nothing fancy but fried chicken and shrimp done right. They could use a better poboy bread but that's almost impossible to find outside N.O.

This place was full of locals when we stopped in. The reviews on here were mixed but we decided to try it out. The food for the most part is handmade and not from a freezer bag. It's hot, and made by a bunch of high school kids with the supervision of the owner. If you're a fan of fried southern goodness then this is your place. If you're looking for cloth napkins and words like demi glaze, sprig or lightly battered then keep moving. My group had the handmade chicken burger-excellent. Crab cake burger-freezer bag stuff but still good. Seafood Platter-fried to go box of pure southern Cajun goodness. Tarter sauce is made from mayo and sweet pickle relish..old school unless you use dill pickles instead. Would come back again!!
