Great food and great service! Chef Roxanne prepared a very special dinner for myself and two friends that joined me. The servers were cheerful and attentive. I had the corn and crab soup which was really tasty but the crab meat salad was the best. My friends enjoyed the Redfish and the chicken dish. Desserts were wonderful. We shared everything! Cream brulllie , bread pudding and chocolate cake with coffee was a perfect way to wrap up this experience. Be aware to enter via the hotel lobby of the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. The sign for Roux is over a door that looks like an entrance but it does not function as such. I had to pull on a couple of doors before I figured this out but I am glad I did.

I had a great experience at this restaurant last Friday. The ambiance is relaxing, not too formal, and nicely lit. The maitre d was very friendly and helped get everyone seated along with serving the first drinks ordered. My friend and I ordered a glass of La Crema Pinot Noir and it tasted a little dated. It wasn't terrible enough for me to ask questions but the maitre d returned and he said he tasted it. He said it did not taste up to par and he opened another bottle and poured fresh glasses. It tasted perfect. I ate an incredible lobster and gouda crepe appetizer (I heard this is one of the chef's specialities). It tasted light and tasty while it did not leave me starving. I ate a wonderful entree of a pasta jambalaya. It was a good sized serving with shrimp, chicken, sausage, mushrooms, and penne pasta. The chef, Guy Sockrider, exited the kitchen to check on us to make sure that we were enjoying his dishes. He was extremely sincere and polite. I was too full to order a desert but I saw the well made dishes my friends ordered including a chocolate mouse cake and creme brulee with berries. I will return to this restaurant as many times as I can while living in this city. It's pricy but you definitely get more than your money's worth.

Took my girlfriend here before our Haunted History Tour for our mini-staycation one night. Truly awesome place. I used to eat breakfast omelets in the space when it was just a random bistro in the Bourbon Orleans, and the space is still just as nice. If you get a seat near the French Doors they'll open them for you so you can extend the bistro feeling. Service was spectacular. Thanks to Rachel (might have been Rebecca - I'm terrible with names) for being all class. She went to every length to make sure we were completely satisfied. Food wasn't the best I've seen, but it was still pretty damn good, and the prices made up for the difference. Yeah, I could get better; but I'd be paying five to ten bucks more per entree, so I was very satisfied.

My hotel package included a $50 certificate here, so I went with my sister for dinner. We ordered the Caesar salad, fried catfish with shrimp and grits, veggie pasta, and the seven layer cake. The salad was grilled and included fried cheese. I didn't like the cheese. It was burnt and salty. Otherwise, the rest of the salad was good. I really liked the catfish with the shrimp and grits. The catfish was fried perfectly and there was a lot of shrimp in all sizes. The grits were good. There were some cold pieces, but otherwise it was delicious. The hostess recommended the seven layer cake, and I'm glad she did because it was delicious. It was light with just the right sweetness. Though we enjoyed our meal, my sister and I discussed that there isn't a singular dish that sets Roux apart. I believe if this restaurant had a signature dish, there would be more people dining here.

I had breakfast here one morning since we were staying at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel and it was conveniently located. We had the breakfast buffet and it was just right. Scrambled eggs, french toast, fresh fruit and all your basics. Service was proper and polite. The gentleman that greets you as you come in is very friendly and sociable. A great place to grab a bite if you are starting of the day with some walking tours or swamp tours.

I had breakfast at Roux on Orleans (which is inside the Bourbon Orleans Hotel) on 2/8/2014. It was my first time there. There were two of us and we both had their breakfast buffet which was just under $20.00 each. They had many hot items and made our omelette's special to order. All the food was very good.. Shae, or server, did a fine job as well. Plus, I took photos.

Had the buffet while staying at the bourbon orleans hotel. Buffet was pricey in my opinion (as i don't think i was hungry enough to eat $21 worth) but overall the quality of the food was worth it. Eggs, french toast, bacon, fruit, pastries, yogurt parfaits, among other stuff! The menu itself had some good options which you could also order from during buffet times which is great! Would recommend this place!

The service was exceptional. The food was great, hollandaise was tangy enough, filet tender enough for a butter knife. The coffee was mediocre otherwise I'd give 4 stars.

Seeing as though we stayed at the hotel that this place is attached to, it was very convenient for our breakfasts (and breakfast is all we ever had here, we ate it 3 mornings). We had really been looking forward to a menu item that we found online called Lost Bread which was a sort of pan perdue, but once we arrived we were told that they did not have it on the menu currently. Instead, they offered a small menu of about 6 items plus a "breakfast buffet" every morning that had an egg dish, hash browns, bacon, sausage, some kind of bread like waffles or biscuits and gravy, plus fresh fruit and things like bagels and croissants. My husband just got the buffet all three mornings (about $15) and I got it twice, but the last time I got the breakfast wrap. The food was really no more than average, and had it not been so convenient, we probably wouldn't have gone baqck after the first time. However, we were going on a lot of early morning adventures, so it was nice to have a restaurant right at the hotel where we could grab a quick bite. The place was NEVER crowded for breakfast or dinner....in fact, I'm not sure what kind of a business they really do. The service was generally good. The waitresses were both incredibly friendly, but a bit spacey at times, especially on our last morning there. If I stayed at the hotel again, I would probably treat this restaurant the exact same way...as a convenient place for breakfast, but I wouldn't necessarily seek it out if I didn't stay there again.

Nice place, great food. Only one draw back. It is right off the lobby of the hotel and you get some noise from the people there.

I stayed here for Mardi Gras and it was a great value for its buck, so one morning when everyone was hung over I went down for breakfast myself. Had the steak and eggs it was really good but the food took 25mins to come! I was so drunk from the mimosas I barely made back to the right room! The food was good my waitress was a clown and attentive but they lost a star, simply because the food took so long. It was a classy sit down place and was cheaper then I expected. They are popular for their breakfast buffet.

I dined here last night with several other yelpers, and although the service was very attentive, I thought the food was below par (although two dishes stood out a very good though). First we were brought some lagniappe - it was crab, and avocado, with mango and fish sauce. Fish sauce should not be applied to the subtle flavor that is blue crab. Next I was brought what they referred to as crawfish bisque. The soup was good, but crawfish bisque it was not, and I felt a bit mislead. Rather it had dairy, and no stuffed crawfish heads. I tried a crawfish crepe that someone else had ordered and it had a good flavor, but the crawfish tails had a black color and chewiness that indicates they had been frozen. Frozen crawfish tails are typically imported from Asia, and I find that to be an inexcusable crime. I had an appetizer of the Shrimp Absinthe. This is where things began to head downhill. The sauces had no taste whatsoever of fennel, wormwood, anise, or even licorice. The shrimp tasted nothing like any local shrimp I've ever had. Perhaps they were overcooked, because they were fibrous and even maybe crunch. Plus they were too large. My entree was the pecan crusted puppy drum with a lemon-butter sauce. I will be to the point here - this fish was not fresh. It tasted as if it sat on the dock for a few days before it was refrigerated. It was not even edible. Furthermore the particular lemon butter sauce was a beurre-blanc, when any chef who's been to a few days of culinary school would learn that a beurre-noisette would be the sauce to serve on fish when nuts are present, as it has a complimentary flavor and aroma. The restaurant was more than courteous enough to not charge for this dish. My wife dined on a very dry pork chop before being given a rather bland piece of bread pudding (please just add some Mexican vanilla and cook it until the outside has a crust) with a very thin white chocolate sauce. Another in our group ordered the crème brule, which I got to taste, and was very good. It redeemed the restaurant for some of its crimes, but the expired fish was certainly unforgivable. I suggest the restaurant staff spends some time dining at Antoine's and Galatoire's so that they know what the cuisine they intend to serve should taste like.

We had breakfast here for 4 mornings as vouchers wee included as part of our hotel stay at Bourbon Orleans. The vouchers say you can only get the Classic Breakfast--which we did for 2 days and then they let us pick others items which was nice. The Classic Breakfast is 2 eggs any style (I did scrambled with a little cheese), meat (both the andouille sausage and applewood smoked bacon are yummy), grits or breakfast potatoes (both average) and toast...a lot for most people! All beverages were included--coffee, tea, oj, and soda. Plenty of butter and jelly on the table. Our third morning I got the pancakes with both mixed berries and butter pecan syrup--yumm-o!! The last morning we used the vouchers for the buffet with both hot and cold items. Food was tasty every morning and the servers are very friendly and attentive especially yemi another gal. A lot of food and good taste means we probably would eat here again even if not included :)

#NOLAtourism #foodtourism #chifoodie This review is a 4 for service and a two for food. We went for the prix fixe Thanksgiving meal. The price was incredibly resonable and the champagne was generous and free flowing. The first course of butternut squash soup was delicious. The rest was only ok. I don't remember my salad. My stuffing was filled with sausage so I didn't eat it. My turkey was served with gravy on it although I asked and was given the impression that it would not be. I believe the turkey was tasty and moist-- but the gravy was so distracting I cannot be sure. I would have appreciated the opportunity to put the gravy on myself. The dessert choices-- both cheesecake-- one pumpkin and the other sweet potato or was it pecan? In any case all of us who ordered the pumpkin (including me) were underwhelmed. Those that ordered the other option were satisified. The best part-- the service and the atmosphere. The hotel is beautiful. The location in the French Quarter was perfect for a tourist family like us. Our server was a young musician, who is in graduate school for hotel management and his training showed every step of the way. He was polite and attentive. He connected with every guest ranging from 6yrs old to 80+. Would we go back? Not for the food, but I would sit in the bar and enjoy the service and the hotel.

I went to this restaurant using a voucher provided by TravelZoo, which included one appetizer, two entrees, dessert for two, and a bottle of wine. For the appetizer I ordered the Crab Cake with dijoun sauce and found it to be heavy on the cheese and not necessarily New Orleans style, very tasty though. I ordered an additional bowl of turtle soup which was very meaty and quite good. For the entree I ordered a Double Cut Pork Chop. I found it to be cooked to my liking (medium) though tough. The sauce was sweet and delicious. The other entree, Swordfish Topped with Crabmeat and Cream Sauce, was much better. My boyfriend said that the fish was prepared very well (not overly cooked) and the sauce was not overstated allowing the flavor of the fish to come through nicely. The side dish of mashed purple potatoes were excellent and strangely enough tasted like cake. The dessert of Chocolate Mousse Torte with Chantilly Cream tasted prepackaged and possibly frozen, though the cream was delicious and fresh. The service was excellent. Our server, Rebecca, accomidated us nicely with our wine selection by letting us split wines as my boyfriend and I have differing tastes when it comes to wines. She was attentive without being overly obtrusive. When asked a question about the cake-tasting potatoes, she got the chef to personally come to our table and field the questions. Atmosphere was comfortable. The room was quiet, although there were few diners at the time on a weekday. Overall, I would return to this restaurant, however there are probably better places to go in this large culinary city.
