Great little pizza place with New York decore and New Orleans pricing. Food was prepared after we ordered it and the calzone was great! Owner was super-nice and very friendly and the small tv was playing a great Jackie Chan flick with the sound off. The movie had Jackie Chan, Billy Ray Cirus, and George Lopez. For some reason it really added a nice atmosphere to the place, cheezy movie and cheesy calzones, can't go wrong here!

The pizza here is insanely satisfying! Had just the plain cheese pizza twice during my visit. It's a convenient location near the Marriott, and just a 30 minute wait for fresh perfect pizza. Hole in the wall place with very little seating, but most people probably got theirs to go because we were out during Mardi Gras and we were able to find a spot (AND charge our phones!). Very good, standard pizza! My friend and I polished off a medium without a second thought, except where did all the pizza go?? Be sure to bring cash!

I was venturing back to the hotel from a night on Bourbon St. and found this little gem to be open. I had first asked for a margarita pizza but the little Italian man said he didn't make them. I was pretty confused by this, so I just ordered the supreme pizza. I don't remember what was on it, but it remember it being a great late night pizza. He is a cash only place and it takes a good 20 minutes to get a fresh pizza made.

We ordered BBQ chicken pizza - and you'd wonder how can somebody screw a BBQ chicken pizza. Well, the crust was chewy and the BBQ sauce tasted like cough syrup. The people seemed nice, so I am not sure if it were simply an off-day for this otherwise decent pizza-joint.

Pizza so delicious it'll explode your taste buds. Tiny little place, but Papa and crew are so nice and patient. They only take cash so make sure you hit up an ATM before. I seriously love this place.

Yeah, it's a very small business - literally a "hole in the wall" - so what! Our pizza was fresh baked with plenty of toppings and just the right amount of crispy crust! This is a great carry-out for the hotel-bound & you too!
(3)Joe C.
If you're into bowling alley quality pizza, then this is your place! I wasn't turned off by the pizzeria itself, it's a seedy, 300 sqft place... but some of the best pizza on earth comes from small, seedy pizzerias!!The pizza was just not good here.
(2)Aimee H.
I'm from New York, so I know pizza.........this place has very good pizza and calzones. Very nice owners too - they have been there a million years and even though they were working 19 hour days during Mardi Gras, they were cheerful and chatty. Reasonable prices and great location if you are staying at the Marriott. You can easily grab a slice and head upstairs.

After a week of bad luck Cajun and creole food, I decided the change it up a bit and for for some Italian. I walked around to a couple joints, but most looked rubbery and dried out. The pizza here did not look yucky. So i decided to stick around and order something. I decided to order the Lasagna because they make it fresh. The sauce was a bit on the sweeter side than i like it, but still good. If I want lasagna, and i'm nearby, i'll stop in for some.

I love pizza. I mean I REALLY love pizza. Even mediocre pizza is OK by me. This place is beyond bad. REALLY REALLY bad pizza. thick chewy crust flavorless crust very cake like not at all good.

Small pizza joint near our hotel with great pizza! Made to order, deliciously fresh and tasty, yum. the perfect snack for Sunday night football.

I eat NYC pizza every week and have the love handles to prove it - this is ABSOLUTELY NOT NYC pizza. Papa's Pizza is on par with freezer pizza - or as I call it, Necessity Pizza (aka - so drunk I need pizza now, no matter how bad). I was kind of shocked this place had 4 stars. We stopped in post New Year Eve celebrating and ordered a whole pie hoping it would soak of the nights libations... unfortunately, by the time the pizza was done I was practically sober. To be fair the family working the place was extremely friendly and did a good job dealing with a ridiculous crowd.

We stumbled around for a while and I could not find anything I wanted to eat on Bourbon. Hot Dogs?? HELL to the NO!! Pizza? Hmmm OK. The first place we walked in I was like Ewwww, it looks gross. Then I saw another Pizza sign off bourbon but kind of hidden. We went in and this places pizza looked Yummy!!! Thick Crust and sometimes I like it thick ;) One Piece was good enough for me to continue my hand Grenade drinking.

Not a bad little joint, location was key, close to the hotel. Not much on mood or ambiance but the pizza was good. 3.50 for a cheese slice.
(3)Joe N.
Not better than Dominoes, but has a French Quarter price. I got a huge 18" Supreme with extra ham. It was big, but all the ingredients were tiny diced sprinkle on crap. It was nothing like a good pizza made from real ingredients. It was lame, and cost me $32. I should have just bought Dominoes crap.
(2)Raymond O.
After 2 days of eating my weight in amazing creole goodness. We thought a change of menu was in order. So we decided to try out this pizzeria and we don't regret it. It was delicious; the toppings were fresh, the sauce was traditional italian, and the crust was to die for. It was almost on par with Palermos back home in LA. I strongly recommend Papas Pizza to anyone
(4)Steve S.
Good NYC style slice and take out pizza and pasta. Three tables. Tiny and tasty pizza dive joint . If you are in the area and need a slice, this is the place.
