This place is TERRIBLE. HOPELESS. GROSS. Shall I go on? I feel like I can really give a fair review because I have tried this place a few times for the only reason that it is close to where I live. We have little to no options when it comes to Chinese food around Jefferson. The food is tasteless. There is nothing good to say about their food. Think of the most terrible Chinese restaurant you've ever been to. Yeah, this place is worse. I've tried a few different things, and they are all the same tasteless foods floating in tasteless sauce with tasteless fried rice. Wait, there is taste in shrimp dishes...it tastes like mud. If you are brave enough to try this place, you should order the mandarin chicken just for a laugh. It's basically fried fat parts of chicken with gravy. I have never in my life seen mandarin chicken look like that. It didn't remotely taste like mandarin chicken. Remotely. I'm still in disbelief that they think they can pass it off as the real thing. One word of warning: your order will never be right. I know, nothing new at a Chinese restaurants, but every time? If you try to explain that they got the order wrong...tough...you have two options: take it or leave it. Customer Service is a joke. So, in closing of this review, I highly recommend trying somewhere else. We usually just make our Chinese food at home. It's much better than Oriental Triangle's "food."

This place is totally a dive but i absolutely love it. So good and cheap the best is the generals chicken and egg rolls. One of my favorite places to eat

Very solid food - good value - consistent. Egg drop soup is very good. I eat there several times a month. I love the Moo Goo Gai Pan (no clue if I spelled that right) and the General Tso's chicken is good too.

This place was fine. I'm not sure why all the haters. I nearly drove away when I checked the reviews, but got curious. It's Saturday night and the joint is empty, but servers were fine, food came out quickly- I got shrimp with snowpeas, it's all fresh- nice fresh veggies, big shrimp. Egg drop soup was fine. It's nothing to write home about, but it's a solid Chinese restAurant.

My husband and I eat there at least 4 times a month. The restaurant is never over crowded but they do a huge take out business. Service is great, food is consistently good. Price is reasonable. Atmosphere is vintage Chinese restaurant -- very clean. Great for family dinner. This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant and there are few nonchain restaurants left!

So close to the Elmwood Shopping Center. Looking forward to tasty General Tso's Shrimp...extra spicy of course (like me)! This location includes the restaurant as well as a bar/lounge. Plus, the lounge has 3 video poker machines and a tv for patrons. It's much larger inside than it looks from the street. I ordered the General Shrimp dinner special, which included the entree, shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. Unfortunately, the food was just mediocre. It'll do in a pinch. Good hours: M-F 11-10pm; Sat 11-30-10pm; Closed every Sun except Mother's Day. Plus, this restaurant does not use MSG...thanks a bunch!

Absolutely the worst chinese food in the city even worse than buffets or mall chinese food. Dont believe any positive reviews unless you enjoy eating questionable food that will possibly kill you. So ive eaten here a few times years ago its been in the same spot forever. I forgot how awful it was I just wanted chinese and this was convenient. They have a very large dining area and bar and nobody in there...ever. like never more than a hand full of people. To top it off since they aren't very busy in there you think they would have all the time in the world to keep the place clean. Wrong. Filthy. Old food residue on the walls table barely wiped grey ceiling tiles from the dust from the 20+ years of service. I understand being run down from age but clean it up. They have so much of a restaurant that hole in the wall DELICIOUS chinese restaurants would dream of. And they use it to the worst of its potential. The food is so poor quality and tastes old like its left over from the day before. The shrimp are either dehydrated or canned in the fried rice. They are highlighter pink. If you can't afford to put real shrimp on my plate please just make egg and vegetable fried rice that taste good and look appetizing. Chicken was weird texture and I ordered white meat. I wonder if the meat is imported from Asia? Can you purchase imported chickens? I dont know if many of you know this but its not hard to make good chinese food. Its simple meats and vegetables rice and sauces. Egg rolls are weak. I will remember next time to never eat chinese food close to home. I will go uptown and get chinese kitchen on Carrollton the best in the city and most authentic. Or my second favorite august moon on prytania. If you think this place is good you have probably never been to the two places I just mentioned. So please take me serious its not good. Rant over. Sorry, but it was that bad Yelp!

When they get your order right, which is not that often, you have the best Chinese food in the area. The egg rolls are the best in all of New Orleans. They have a nice bar area for when you decide that you hate your family for Thanksgiving and want to get drunk off of extremely sweet drinks. You have to love a place like this.

While it's not my favorite Chinese restaurant, the food is good and prices are reasonable.

I was in the mood for chinese food and I decided to give this place a try. The waitress/hostess lady was very friendly. She asked me if I wanted a booth or a table. I opted for the booth. I wish I would have chosen the table. The floor underneath the booth was not level and the table part of it was slanted. But I will get back to that later. When I ordered the food I decided to try the Moo goo gai pan combo. It came with the Moo goo gai pan, egg roll, egg drop soup and shrimp fried rice. The moo goo gai pan was fantastic! The egg roll was good and so was the egg drop soup. The shrimp fried rice was nasty though! If I didn't believe in wasting food I would have had it thrown away. The decor in this place was nice. A better sight to behold than what most of the other chinese restaurants in the area have to offer. They also have a bar area with video poker machines but it wreaked of cigarette smoke so that was a big no on that! Still the slanted booth is really what got me. It was kind of frustrating eating my food when the booth was tilted down by a 10 degree angle. I highly recommend anyone going there to eat at one of the tables instead! So in short if you do decide to eat here avoid the shrimp fried rice and the slanted booth!

This place used to have the most delicious lo mein I'd ever had. Although most of the food at this place is average at best, they had some seriously delicious lo mein. A few years ago they changed the noodles that they make the lo mein with and now it is terrible. I have called and spoken with the owner multiple times and asked if he could bring back the old noodles to make the lo mein the way they used. He doesn't speak great English but tells me that they've changed the noodle and don't always have the old noodles. I try to explain to him that if he would do something as simple as bringing back some inexpensive dry noodles to make the dish with that our whole family will start coming back. When you feed a family of 5 at a Chinese restaurant, it is usually a bill over $70 at least. I would think this would be worth bringing back some noodles.... Other than that the place is in a crummy location on Jefferson Hwy near the Huey Long and the restaurant is kind of a gloomy dump. They rest of the food isn't terrible but it isn't good either. They have some fairly priced lunch specials that have a lot of food for the price. Oh, if only they would bring back the delicious lo mein.....

I'm severely disappointed with Oriental Triangle. When it comes to these "generic dragon" Chinese places you need stellar service to really stand out since all the food is pretty much the same. While working a couple blocks away I got a craving for some Chinese and decided to give Oriental Triangle a chance. I was a bit put off by the staff. They pretty much ignored me almost the entire time I was there. I decided to get a lunch special. To my surprise I couldn't substitute won ton soup rather than the soup that came with lunch combo since it contained mushrooms and I'm allergic. Also the combo does not allow white rice instead of fried rice. To top off the experience, I ordered sesame chicken and was served sesame shrimp. Needless to say I won't be going back. I'd rather go to the nearby Asian buffet trough and risk food poisoning.

The food is decent while nothing really has excited me here. The best thing here is they have campy tiki drinks in big goofy tiki style glasses. The ambiance is entertaining to me in this joint and it is probably the best atmosphere of any Chinese place in the Jefferson Highway area.

Hmmmm, what to say, what to say, what to say? Well, my meal was as disappointing as the NOLA weather this day.. I chose the lunch special #12, Pork, Chicken and Shrimp with Vegetables With Wonton Soup as an App. The mushrooms were canned, never, NEVER a good sign. I ordered steamed rice, and got fried rice, another bad omen perhaps. Oh, BTW, the rice, ALSO, had canned shrimp, in the GULF, canned shrimp.. The broth in the soup, was thin, and the dumplings, tasted HORRIBLE! The chicken was dry, the pork was also dry, and the shrimp in this dish was rubbery.. The ONLY part of the entire dish that was not abysmal was the Broccoli in the dish, which was surprisingly, NOT canned. I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER eat here again! Partly because I did not care for the food, partly because I believe I may die from eating it.. HOWEVER... All facetious comments aside, this place is NOT worth your time.. Or your hard earned money.. Go to Kim Anh, or Hong Kong Kitchen... Better food, similar prices, although a little further out, your stomach will thank you... I am, for now.. Your Big Easy, still a little queasy, Daddy

This was a regular sit-down non-buffet place to visit with co-workers and the occasional take-out. For me it was usually the sesame shrimp and rice or combination lo-mein. Our group was regular enough that we were pretty much remembered by the staff. The location is right there at what was the foot of the bridge on the corner of Jefferson Hwy and St. George. While there isn't too much parking in front there's plenty in the rear. Also, to avoid traffic St. George can be accessed from River Road via Boyce.

I have been eating at (physically and take out) Oriental Triangle for many many many years! To ME it is the best Chinese food around. Everything I get from there has always been consitantly delicious. I've tried other places of course, but I always go back to this place. The service is ALWAYS great! The food is awesome! Never one complaint! I don't see how some of the people wrote these poor reviews of the place, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. The General's Chicken is the greatest! Yum Yum YUM!!!
