7 on Fulton is located inside the Omni Hotel (formerly the Wyndham ... which we found out about upon arrival) and we were staying there for the National Association of Realtors 2014 Expo. We ate here for breakfast during our stay and would partake of the buffet, primarily because they have an omelet station, so I could get my egg white omelet with veggies, and also some fruit. We did have lunch here on our day of check out and it took forever to get our food. It wasn't really a big deal because we weren't in a hurry, but if you're strapped for time, this may not be the place to go. We found the servers to be very attentive, so no complaints there!

We were the only diners on Easter evening and it was wonderful. Leon was a fantastic server, pleasant, funny and efficient. He made us feel right at home! Saintsation cocktail was delicious, bread was served with whipped gorgonzola cheese and we ordered all of his recommendations. We had the flash fried oysters with brie and crystal-spicy but delicious-as well as the mustard encrusted pork loin and crawfish and goat cheese ravioli. I would go back anytime Leon is working-he was so charming and sweet.

I only went here because I showed up to the yelp block party 15 minutes early. I didn't stay at this place very long I went in and ordered one beer. The whole time I was there I felt incredibly unwanted. That and the beer I ordered was nasty. I got up out of there as soon as my 15 minutes was up. I am glad I did too. I also forgot to mention that everything in this place is overpriced. I guess this place caters to the casino crowd. It had one saving grace though, the decor was nice. In short not a great place at all. P.s. the next time some ladies at a yelp event tell me a "good" place to wait at until a yelp event starts I won't listen to them!

After reading the reviews we decided to go with the benefit of the doubt and try it out anyway. Our table was ready and the server was warm and welcoming... this treatment was short lived. It took an hour for our first round of drinks (no exaggeration) and after 45 minutes we had to ASK for bread... they brought one basket for 9 people. Our server was flighty, the hotel receptionists brought us our bread basket and the chef himself had to take our order. When we finally did get our food we were disappointed to see that the steak was tremendously over cooked, an order of ravioli was burnt (pasta... burnt) and the fish was overlooked (this is NOLA, how does that happen?) Our waiter did not come and check on us after the food was delivered, I had to hunt down a manager after 30 minutes of food sitting at our table. Our waiter still did not come and ask or check on anything at this point. We were extremely polite and understanding throughout the experience, however, this was not reciprocated through the service.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'd just like to preface this review with the acknowledgement it is based on nothing but how much free bourbon they poured me. How much bourbon, Scott? More bourbon than you can imagine. I don't know. I can imagine quite a bit. Okay, the answer is quite a bit. Let's go with that. It sounds better than "distillery." So yeah, there's a bar here. I think there were tables behind me but I never looked. I had a singuIar goal. I came here for the free bourbon tasting. And it was magnificent! Bourbon after bourbon was poured, and with each pour, I and my fellow gathered bourbon aficionados learned more and more about each bourbon and the history of bourbon in general, including how Jack Daniel's can never be classified as bourbon. Hear that Jeff? It's not bourbon! It's the coal, Jeff! The coal! What CAN be classified as bourbon is Basil Hayden's, Maker's Mark, Knob Creek, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Baker's, and Booker's, all of which confronted my liver in a battle I can only compare to that of meeting the Black Knight. And the Black Knight always triumphs! None shall pass! ... Alright then, we'll call it a draw. I came. I drank. I made friends. I'll be back here again at some point. Even if my next visit won't at all be sponsored by Fortune Brands Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc. (NYSE:FO) Damn it. Oh, also I think they make food here.

This place is connected to the Wyndham hotel. We made a reservation for 7:45 thinking we would need one but the restaurant was basically empty when we arrived. It was us and just 2 other tables - not a good sign. However, the gumbo was very tasty for a starter. I got the mushroom strudel for my main course - here's the thing - it tasted okay but it looked terrible. It appeared to just be a big pile of brown mush. It gave the impression that the person cooking the food did not care very much about what my opinion of that food would be. I can't see this place being here 12 months from now.

Surprised to find hardly anyone in the dining room, even though our reso was for 9p. The food was good.....warm sliced bread and butter, for a starter---fried green tomatoes with crabmeat. Wedge salad was also fresh and tasty. For an entree we both had the Veal. A little too heavy on the sauce for me. The veal, although not the most tender, was panned and served atop yummy grits. All in all a good experience. Apparently they do a lot of business with out of town guests/conventions staying in the nearby hotels.

Our Woman's Club of Thibdaux today had lunch at 7 on Fulton . It was wonderful! We had eighteen coming at the same time and ordering off the menu. A big job for any resturant. The good was wonderful, the portions large and great selections. They have a new chef who came out to greet following lunch. Diane and her staff did amazing job and the service was outstanding. Again the food was great and everyone raved about their dish. Want to go back for dinner! Thanks again for making our day one to remember . Judy D

line1:7 on Fulton has a theme going. line2:If its name, location, and current specials (7 cent line3:mojitos + $7appetizers) are any indication of the line4:superstition that 7 ate 9. Don't be upset. Unlike line5:evil number 6, 7 is thought to be of Christlike line6:perfection. The food can be described as "perfect7on". line7:Who can put a price (expens7ve) on perfect7on? Try the mojitos times 7! You'll be on cloud 9.

Sad to say, I wasted a meal in New Orleans. Friday night at 7:30 and my wife and I were the only diners. There was one waitress who spent the night talking about how good PF Chang is. We had the Cool Menu...one appetizer, one entree and one desert for $35 each. The Alligator Ravioli was very good, if not a bit cold. They did not have the advertised fish that was on the special...they were "out" yet we were the only ones there. My steak was flavorful, but 2 temperatures overdone. It was not worth the effort to have them cook me another one. With no one else in the restaurant, I knew I was dealing with an indifferent kitchen rather than incompetent one. Server forgot to put in drink orders and they were "out" of the creme broule desert that was on the cool menu. We had bread pudding and it tasted like it was made last week. Nothing I hate worse than wasting a meal in New Orleans. I am no novice, but I have been to a ton of the big spots. I was told I had to try this place and am unhappy I did not look a bit harder for something new (to me)

Service and kitchen both were indifferent and barely competent, even though there were only 3 or 4 other tables when we arrived. Only one waitress and a bartender who pitched in filling water glasses and delivering food. We did change our order just as she was finished punching it in--or maybe not finished, because I had to ask the bartender for my drink when he stopped by to refill water and deliver bread (after our apps had been delivered). The item she was supposed to delete from our order was not served, so they got that part right, but it was still on the bill--we had to ask to get it removed. The food was pretty bad. The mushroom strudel was soggy with an unpleasant flavor; the roasted artichoke app had the faint scent of catfood; the barbecue shrimp was swimming in an unsavory-looking brown broth that tasted simply of black pepper. The salad was ok. The most egregious problem was with the "baked Brie with raspberries"-- it was baked with strawberries, not raspberries. My vegetarian friend was looking forward to sharing it, since it was one of only a few vegetarian items. But she's allergic to strawberries. Could have been a bad scene if she had taken the first bite, not me. The indifference of the kitchen is matched only by my feelings of hostility now. You can get far better food at hundreds of other places in New Orleans.

Jambalaya was not spicy but maybe it's not supposed to be? I haven't had it in New Orleans before, but it had lots of sausage, shrimp & chicken & looked beautiful. They also have a breakfast dish of poached eggs on crabcakes on fried green tomatoes which were so good and packed w/ flavor. I also tried the bleu caesar salad with fried oysters and it was good, beautiful greens. It was overdressed but most salads are & I failed to get the dressing on the side. The dining room has a very nice elegant atmosphere & the service was excellent.

The conference arranged lunch for us at this restaurant....it was closed for general business to accommodate us. We started with a cup of gumbo....perfect roux and spices. The field green salad with a ball of fried goat cheese was pretty much the best salad I've had in a long time. The fried goat cheese was divine We all got the smothered chicken with mashed potatoes for an entree. I usually do not like smothered chicken but this was delicious. The deep fried chicken breasts were tender and covered with the right amount of gravy. For dessert, we were served pecan pie with rum in it. It was pretty much the best pecan pie I've ever had. The restaurant is located inside the Wyndham riverfront hotel and you can enter from either the hotel lobby on Convention Center Blvd. or Fulton street. A great place for business lunch.

I had read good things about this restaurant written by a local food critic whom I trust, but I was initially wary due to it being in a Wyndham hotel that serves the convention center. Those fears were reinforced when we arrived at 7:45 pm on a Saturday to find the dining room with less than 20 other customers. However, my concerns were unfounded. The room is nicely appointed in a clean, modern style. The staff were professional, friendly and eager to see we enjoyed ourselves. The food was very, very good with prices that are a bargain for a dining experience of this quality. The total bill before tip for - shared salad, 2 entrees, shared dessert and bottle of wine - was only $102 - without wine it would have been under $70. Superior quality and exceptional value. Recommended.

I may be biased because I frequently stop in at this as-yet undiscovered jewel in the warehouse district just for the French fries, but I love 7 on Fulton! It's part of a hotel, but the restaurant is totally unique with lots of variety. The bar is in a weird section separated from the full dining area by a half wall, but the servers are always friendly and willing to try and make you a unique drink if you ask. Get Mike to make you his special Banana Martini - no male parts included - or try the Sin Lily ( named for my group) you may not find these on the menu which just adds to the appeal when i brought my girls in before a trip to the Children's Museum we got super friendly and Unrushed service even though they were about to close to change over from lunch to dinner for an upscale or simple experience, 7 has consistently delivered a meal even 3 picky little ones and I could enjoy! My favorite side will always be the french fries, but people rave about the haricot verts which dish will you go and discover? Wi-fi side note is that they may give you an access code if you ask but it's really through the hotel And price is cheaper at lunch but you can get a meal for about 13 bucks if you order the right stuff at dinner time or from the bar

So I came here twice in the same day, apparently 90% of restaurants are closed on Mardi Gras, I didn't get the memo...but that's ok, here's what happened at my first meal... Breakfast: I got the Eggs Fulton, which I thought was great, very innovative, I'm talking about the tomato hollandaise sauce, not that it was served with a crab cake (which was awesome). I really liked the sauce, very tangy, but I think I still prefer the classic better. And up to this point I've never had a fried green tomato, good, but a very overpowering taste, I had to eat it separate. I thought it was a little pricey, but it's a hotel restaurant, I knew what I was getting into. I really liked my server too. He wasn't out of this world amazing, but he got the job done...............5/5 Later that day.... Lunch: This time I was in a group of six and I had a different server...a creepy server...he kept looming over us, but not attending to us. He just stared...and our food took about 30 minutes to arrive which was strange seeing how there were only 2 other tables besides us. The food was great, everyone loved what they got. I got the gumbo and it was full of fresh ingredients. Probably the best shrimp I've ever had, and the burgers my friends' got was really good, a little surprise to us all. This would have been rated higher if it weren't for the creepy server who didn't get our food out on time!.............................3/5 Overall: great food, spotty service

Allergy sufferers and vegetarians beware. I had a subpar to horrible experience at this restaurant. I joined a group reservation. One member of our large group party had a severe gluten/garlic allergy and made this known to the staff before ordering. I am allergic to nuts and don't eat seafood, red meat or pork and also made this known to the staff. While the server was sure to accommodate my allergy and found something for me off your menu, my friend was not so lucky. Her dish was filled with garlic and after a few bites she put down her fork and took off running back to her hotel for medicine/treatment, ruining her dining experience. Food allergies are not a joke and can be a deadly situation if not properly treated. I hope this post will make this establishment aware of how serious these allergies can be. I am genuinely concerned that the staff/kitchen is unaware of how serious food allergies can be and hope this experience will never be repeated. Luckily my friend (and I) are okay but others may not be so fortunate.

I had a Groupon and was in town for the Essence Music Festival this year. This restaurant is inside of a timeshare/hotel. I also scored extra perks by booking reservation on OpenTable.com . They had a few cheap drink specials. The restaurant is nicely decorated and food quality is above average. I'd go back again.

This was the worst food I've ever had to pay for, and we paid dearly! No wonder the restaurant was empty. That should have been a big clue. Thursday night at 7pm, not one person eating! I think the restaurant only had one waiter and the dishwasher must have also been the chef. The Shrimp and Grits appetizer: grits had been sitting out so long they were dry and crusty on top, the shrimp were almost cooked, and the sauce was just ok. Foie Gras appetizer tasted rancid. The lamb chops, 2 small for $29.00, 1st came out blue, sent them back and reminded the 1 waiter I had ordered them med-rare, then came out rare...ate them anyway so I wouldn't hold up the table any longer. The French bread was stale, the butter was smelly. The steak special was rubbery, and the duck inedible. Beware! I can't believe the Wyndham Hotel puts up with such awful dining in their hotel.

Decor was very lame. It looked like a typical hotel restaurant. Food wasn't terrible, but it was overpriced and took a long time to come out. It even came out luke warm like it had been just sitting under a light for a while. Don't waste your time or money...

had read good things about this place and the menu looked great. i made a reservation through the restaurant's site and noted that the reservation was for my husband's birthday. i received a confirmation email from the restaurant for my reservation. we showed up on time and we were immediately seated in a virtually empty establishment. we were surprised that the restaurant was right off the lobby with no doors. decor was rather blah - typical hotel restaurant with a small bar attached and clearly visible to the restaurant. but we figured decor isn't all that important if the food is good! we got our menus and realized they weren't the dinner ones so called the maitre'd over to ask for the correct menus. he said those were the correct menus. apparently they're between chefs so only serving essentially BAR food! now why the heck couldn't the restaurant have CLEARLY posted on their site that they were between chefs so only serving a mofidified/simplified menu? or taken the extra 3.5seconds to add that crucial bit of information to their confirmation email? seriously? no idea what the quality of food is like because we left. staff was polite and apologetic, but i was still quite incensed. =( we wound up going to palace cafe. there was a 30min wait but when i briefly explained why we were there with no reservation we were seated immediately! how kind and thoughtful! to us at least. ;-) apologies to the other diners who had to wait a little bit longer due to our impromptu seating.

*sigh* i think our server wasn't really a waiter, but an actor, auditioning for Les Miz. he was cute and disheveled, had a charming accent (French?), seemed not to speak much English, and alas, be stricken with a hearing impairment as well. i am usually a very good natured guest and *never* complain, but the service here was, well, unacceptable. it took at least 20 minutes to get our drink order in a room that appeared to have at least one server per table. my app and salad were decent (7 Salad and BBQ shrimp and grits), but my companion is a steak aficionado and says the filet at Port of Call is ten times better than 7's. a direct quote, "They did everything they could to ensure I will never spend another dollar in there." ugh.

Only been here once but it was good. It's an upscale restaurant tucked away on Fulton next to Harrahs.

*sigh* i think our server wasn't really a waiter, but an actor, auditioning for Les Miz. he was cute and disheveled, had a charming accent (French?), seemed not to speak much English, and alas, be stricken with a hearing impairment as well. i am usually a very good natured guest and *never* complain, but the service here was, well, unacceptable. it took at least 20 minutes to get our drink order in a room that appeared to have at least one server per table. my app and salad were decent (7 Salad and BBQ shrimp and grits), but my companion is a steak aficionado and says the filet at Port of Call is ten times better than 7's. a direct quote, "They did everything they could to ensure I will never spend another dollar in there." ugh.

line1:7 on Fulton has a theme going. line2:If its name, location, and current specials (7 cent line3:mojitos + $7appetizers) are any indication of the line4:superstition that 7 ate 9. Don't be upset. Unlike line5:evil number 6, 7 is thought to be of Christlike line6:perfection. The food can be described as "perfect7on". line7:Who can put a price (expens7ve) on perfect7on? Try the mojitos times 7! You'll be on cloud 9.
