I wish I would have read the reviews first. The restaurant itself was very nice. The waitress forgot our straws. She came back twice to verify parts of our order. There was no gravy on the mashed potatoes and the salad came half way through the meal. I order an omelette that was probably cooked first because it was cold. We were not very impressed with this restaurant. If you heading south on I 49 wait a little longer and eat at the Cracker Barrel in Alexandria.

Why is "1" mandatory. I downloaded YELP specifically to review this IHOP. I travel a lot, and often eat at IHOP with my family. This was by far the WORST experience we've ever had. I don't know why we didn't heed the warnings of the people leaving as we entered. Everyone was nice, but the persisting delays to get our food (an hour for breakfast food), the dirty dishes (my glass, plate, and spoon - and I didn't poll anyone else at the table), and the poorly cooked food/barely there portions. How do they stay in business?

The service here was laughable! That's all we could do because if we didn't laugh about it we may have yelled about it. Yes we had a party of ten BUT there is nothing about breakfast food that takes that long. 2 1/2 hr meal w/ 4 warn out parents & 6 hungry kids. We stopped here after a fun week & long rainy drive from Dauphin Island AL. It had already been a long day, up early to pack, long drive, lots of rain, we had already had to move rooms at the hotel due to a leak in the ceiling, we had almost ended the night on a high note w/ a Spectacular Fireworks show over the Cane River & then this Looooooong meal reversed that. After the long wait, two meals were wrong and one was forgotten all together! Kudos for the fact that the food did taste good! And although slow, the staff was very nice & they did adjust the ticket for the messed up orders!

Typically if I'm hungry around Natchitoches my stop is the Huddle House but today (5/26/14) I was feeling the urge for some chicken fried so IHOP was the stop.... I glanced at the reviews as I was walking in but they didn't phase me cause I wanted that chicken fried... one thing I did notice was that most of the reviews had been written back in 2013.... Anyhow upon entering I was greeted & seated with a smile and had a wonderful waitress, Kathy W., who was prompt and always seemed to be there when I needed her but definitely wasn't the smothering type... Now my meal was on point, the chicken fried steak was cooked just right, tender & tasty, the gravy was warm and good and the eggs and hash browns hit the spot.... Now if I wanted to be bitchy I could complain that it seemed to take my order a bit long to come out but I'm not gonna be bitchy about it cause I didn't mind a leisurely pace as I was taking a leisurely pace back south from the Boss City and a fun Memorial Day weekend visit with friends.... Will this be a regular stop on my travels up and down I 49... probably not unless I'm jonesing for some chicken fried but I can tell you this I wouldn't hesitate to stop again should the urge arise....

Definitely DO NOT recommend stopping here. We were about to walk out after standing and waiting to be seated for over five minutes without even being acknowledged. Just as we were turning to leave, someone finally came and seated us... We should have left. Service was extremely slow. The waitress asked if we wanted colors and a coloring page, we said yes and after waiting about 15 minutes or so, we reminded her. She said that she was the only waitress and only had one cook. The manager appeared at one point and stopped and visited with someone she apparently knew at one of the tables and then went outside and sat and talked with someone in a vehicle. She was still outside talking with them when we left. My grandsons pancakes were cold and hard. Our grilled sandwiches took well over 30 minutes. Wish that I would have read the reviews before we went in. We wouldn't have wasted our time or our money.

I never thought IHOP would be like this. 1/2 hrs waiting turned to one hour that too , in to-go box when i was waiting on table. Food was also not that good. Place is totally mismanaged.

It's /alright/. I stopped by for a quick dinner before stopping at a hotel for the night. I ordered the swedish crepes, and my mom got the spicy chicken sandwich. My swedish crepes came with margarine (gross!) and sad-looking and flavourless lingonberries. The crepes were also very oily and tasted like beef... My mom ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, which tasted decent. Nothing remarkable. The coffee wasn't bad, but it was sort of weak. I ordered a glass of apple juice, and the waitress said "you can't get that refilled, is that okay?" What other choice did I have? I feel like $3 entitles me to refills for a small cup of juice. Once the drinks came, I immediately tasted that the apple juice was made from frozen concentrate and very diluted with water. If you're hungry while driving by Natchitoches and IHOP seems appealing, I'd suggest you keep driving unless you're practically starving.

The waiter was terrible and the food was not even comparable to other IHOPs's dishes.

We usually do IHOP because they are consistently average. The service was great but our breakfast food took forever. When it did arrive, my wife's oatmeal was barely warm. Like another reviewer said, they need a good short order cook.

How does some one mess up pancakes (other than burning them)?! In this case, this restaurant did something I have NEVER seen done...they gave me a pancake that wasn't cooked all the way through. I took a bite, it tasted funny, so I cut into it some more and what do ya know...it was still batter in the middle! When I told the waitress, she took the food and didn't even offer a replacement. She sent the manager over and this woman starts LAUGHING at my complaint for undercooked pancakes...Needless to say, I won't stop at this restaurant next time I'm in the middle of nowhere Louisiana.

Excellent service. Every person we came in contact with had a huge smile and asked if we needed help. Had to borrow the AC to plug in a computer but stayed to have a bite because they were so pleasant. Will return next time we pass through.

Been here three times since it opened. The shortest wait time for pancakes was 30 minutes and the longest was 45 minutes. I'm done with it...no more!
