It's been a few years since I last dined at Trio's and was amazed at how different it looked inside now after having undergone renovations. You would never expect to find such a modern restaurant adjacent to a gas station. Trio's is a locally family owned and operated restaurant, featuring Mediterranean-American food. For appetizers, I had the hummus flight, consisting of a trio variety of hummus- pesto, roasted red pepper, and regular, topped with feta, roasted garlic, sun-dried tomato, and black olives, served with warm pita bread (both white and wheat). The homemade hummus tasted authentic and I would order it again. It can easily be shared between 2-4 people. Based on previous reviews, I ordered the crab meat mousaka, which was simply divine and heavenly! Imagine fried eggplant slices with fresh, tender jumbo lump crab meat, basking in the creamy, rich, Alfredo-like sauce, tossed in al dente angel hair pasta, topped with parmesan cheese. Words cannot describe the dish's delectable and tantalizing flavors. The serving portion was huge and I did not mind taking home leftovers to ravenously devour later in the day. The Trio's cheeseburger was a beef patty served dressed on a sourdough bun, cooked perfectly so that the meat was not dry but flavorful, seasoned, juicy and tasty. Hearty, steak fries accompanied the burger, as they go hand in hand, and tasted fine- nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, the ambiance was quiet, with a few locals hanging out at the bar during an early lunch. Service was fast, friendly, attentive, and drinks were refilled as needed. I would return again to try other specialty dishes and also the weekend champagne brunch, as suggested by another reviewer.

The food was quite tasty and the staff were great. The highlight of the night was the appetizer. We had the house hummus and it was delicious. It's worth a try.

Trio's is another world tucked into a gas station in Monroe. Directly on the left side of the Shell station on Forsythe Avenue, you'll find what looks like a four-star restaurant inside! I've only experienced Trio's' brunch, which is exquisite. A stack of three buttermilk pancakes with a side of sausage or bacon for $4.99? Bottomless mimosas from 11 am to 3 pm? YES PLEASE! They also have some of the best hummus in town! Definitely pay this place a visit!

Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Perfect is the only word I can think of to describe it. Top notch service from our waitress Quinn to the perfect food that we were served. Well rounded menu makes this place a great spot for everyone.

I was very disappointed in this place, especially after reading the positive reviews. I went in on a Friday night when it was fairly busy but not overly crowded. The menu looked very good and was excited to try out the tuna BLT. The service was very slow. They got my order wrong. It was hard to catch the bartender's attention and overall I wasn't very pleased with my experience. There seemed to be steady take-out traffic for pizza. I might give them a go in that aspect but I likely will not be dining in again.

We were also surprised at the fact it is literally attached to a convenience store. Inside, a loud bar and the smell of smoke. Booths were diner-ish. Three stars for the location and ambiance. But when the food came out... excellent! I had spaghetti and meatballs. Very hearty sauce. Some of the best I have had. My wife had etoufe and it was excellent as well. Served in large portions with garnish on the plate. My daughter had shrimp fetucinni Alfredo and reported that it was very good. Great dive to experience. The young lady that served us was friendly and attentive.

Don't let the location fool you! Greek meets American style cooking for a great combo! Try out the Lump Crab Meat Mustaka (spelling) it is simply amazing!

Looks are certainly deceiving; I was skeptical walking into a restaurant that was attached to a gas station, but I promise the interior and the food will make you forget about that. The interior is pretty small and split in half, a bar side and a dining side. I sat on the dining side with my family, so I kinda liked the small space; i was able to watch the saints game pretty comfortably :] As for the food, I had the crawfish étouffée and it was absolutely delish! But the real MVP was my sister's grilled tilapia w/ lemon butter dip. My goodness... It's been two weeks and I can still remember the goodness of that lemon butter on my lips. Come visit this place if you're in Monroe, and fill up your gas tank while you're at it!

We enjoyed the gyros and homemade tortilla chips. Will be back!

Very Blah. The patty melt was burnt. The drinks were not very strong at all. Overall it was a blah experience.

We ate here yesterday, based on the yelp recommendations, and were not disappointed. I had the crab moussaka, which was out of this world delicious, and my girlfriend had the crab benedict, which was also ridiculously tasty. She substituted a, delicious fresh-made, biscuit for the English muffin, and that was no problem for the waitress, who was also very nice and attentive. We finished up with some home made bread pudding, which was really, really good, and maybe just a little bit over-sweet. We will definitely be visiting them again.

Trio's is a very small restaurant made on to a gas station. It has very little seating but great food. The service here is a hit and miss. This is a locals hangout to get the party started on weekends. Lots of vodka crazed women in this place. You might see a business suit along with cut off shorts and flip flops in here.

Trios is a local bar that is connected to the Shell gas station. Though it may not look like much from the outside, the inside is very neat. Mainly locals hit up this joint. and it is a total locals hangout. Its been seven years since I hit up this place and when I did, it was a complete makeover. I really lilke it a lot. People are friendly and the servers are always there at the time time to make sure you get that drink... just in the nick of time.

Once again, Yelp! led us to heaven! Both my wife and I agreed that this was one of the best meals we had ever experienced. It was a little hard to find, as the GPS led us right there but it is tucked away next to a filling station, so we circled the block and came back. Inside it was dark and contemporary, and unfortunately there were several very loud locals who were enjoying happy hour, and the place is small. The main perpetrator eventually left and things calmed down. This can be a very romantic, interesting bar with incredible food. We ordered glasses of pinot grigio, and I was in search of some good Cajun food, so I ordered the crawfish etoufee. OMG!!!!!!!! I got cold chills when I tasted it, and wanted to lick the bowl clean. My wife got the chicken panini, with fresh basil, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic aioli and feta cheese, and when I tasted that, I got chills all over again. This food was some of the best we had ever had, and if ever here again, we will be back. Server was attentive and the second glass of pinot finished off the perfect meal. They even have a drive-through window if you want to take it home!

You have to love a restaurant that's always open!!!! As I normally only get hungry around 2pm.! Great service and the Gumbo is awesome!

Great place. Very yuppie for a town like Monroe! Very good service, albeit, took some time because it was packed. The approach/entrance looks a little strange because it is next to a gas station but it is nice inside.

Crawfish Étouffée... Worth the drive from anywhere. Great bartender who also served my meal. I will be back.

A fine dining "joint" if there ever was one. In one sentence description- great quality food, a good drink, excellent price point and funky location with a friendly staff. The place is split in two by a wall of silver beads that separate the bar party side, from the sit down dining. If you are looking for a quiet meal, this is not the place for you on a busy evening. If you want to have fun and eat some great food, this would likely be my number one spot in Monroe if I lived there. I guess my best compliment to the place was that we cancelled our 7 p.m. reservations at the "best" place in town for my daughter's farewell college birthday dinner for fear of disappointment for the wife and myself after our dinner at Trio's the evening before. The fact I was going to probably end up playing twice as much to be potentially disappointed also weighed heavily into the decision... The main dish that brought us back a second night was the Tilapia with the spinach and crab cream sauce. The portion was huge, and I still found myself wanting more. A vision of me at the back table of the restaurant with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman standing over me with the words "glutton" written above my lifeless engorged body face down in a plate of cream drizzled tilapia would be a distinct possibility, if I lived in Monroe. The Moussaka with egg plant was very good as my daughter doesn't even like eggplant and she kept poaching off the wife's plate. The house Mediterranean dressing we delicious! Wanted to make me want to further explore the oddity of the Mediterranean Quesadilla,, and the other Greek based fare. The menu is pretty eclectic and has something for everyone from Burgers, Po-Boys and Pizza to Gumbo and more traditional Louisiana fare. I guess if I had to give the place a criticism it would be that the bowl of Gumbo was a bit on the salty side. We found the staff to be both friendly and attentive with a tip of the hat to both Sarah and Gabriel who were our servers. I got the recommendation to check Trio's out from a bartender at another restaurant in the area, and it was one of the best tip's I have gotten in a long time.

Odd location, but who cares? It's delicious. Get the gyros, you won't be disappointed. Very small place.

An excellent little burger joint. The location is small but the food and service are wonderful. I have never had a bad meal there and look forward to the next time I go. Try their burgers!

This place is really small and in a strange location, but I absolutely love the food!! The gumbo is really good! They serve large portions, and have very reasonable prices! One of my favorite places to go for lunch!

Nice little cozy restaurant on Forsythe. Location could be a little better, and lighting may be a little too intimate (read: dim). However, the menu is expansive (pizza, wide variety of appetizers, steaks, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, and even some Mediterranean) and the food is excellent. I particularly enjoy the pizza, which you can get with different cheeses (love the feta) and all sorts of toppings; the result is super-flavorful "homestyle" pizza. Service is friendly and fairly quick most nights. Great gathering place, so it's not quiet, but still good fun.
