I was surprised. I went in for lunch and with food allergies I thought I had no chance. There's an olive garden and a ruby tuesday nearby but this sounded different and I'm not big on chain restaurants. I told them I had food allergies and a guy came over and we talked. He walked me through what he could do and I gave it a shot. I got grilled chicken, steamed veggies and steamed rice. It was really good. The chicken was seasoned well.. not too much and the veggies were good. Somewhat of a nightclub decor.. but not in a bad way. So gluten free, soy free, corn free and lactose free.. yeah they can do all of those.

Cons: Soup was meh. Salad was terrible. Sesame chicken had no sesame -- none. Rice was... "interesting" ("tasted undercooked and old" is perhaps the best description). Sauces were less than good. Veggies were passable, but everything was overpriced. Pros: The ice water was excellent -- the only true value at $0 per glass.

Perhaps I'm spoiled from living in the San Francisco Bay Area, but this restaurant fails in many ways. The dirty glasses hanging on the bar are immediately impressive. The cucumber salad had big chunks of cucumbers and very little taste. The waiter did not know the menu--he was surprised to learn from us that the meals should've been served with miso soup, salad and rice. When he did bring those midway through the entree, it wasn't worth the trouble: the miso soup was watery with little miso in it. There were uncooked the kernels in the rice and the salad was limp. The edamame and the meats were ok, but the rest of the experience, including the teriyaki sauce was more than disappointing. Never again.

Good average priced place to go for Sushi and Hibachi. Be prepared for wait and slow service during peak times. The sake comes out of a box, you can see it right behind the bar.

This is my go to place when I'm on the road in Monroe for work. Filet and scallop hibachi combo is the business. Best yummy sauce ever! My wife and I joked that it was like crack, I imagine this yummy sauce would be just as difficult to quit. Don't think about what goes in it ( likely ungodly amounts of butter;) Just dip the medium rare filet mignon pieces in the yummy sauce, devour, thank me later.

Sushi menu is extensive and delicious. The server was terrible, he had no clue when the fish arrived, the ingredients, and when I was waiting for my table he was complaining to the waitress about a tip from a customer earlier in the day. I would go back but not in the back room. There were Mosquitos on the blinds, dusty, and the floor was sticky.

The hibachi grill is the best part of this place. The food is fresh and excellent. It has a better atmosphere than Tokyo, but the sushi does not even compare to Tokyo. The sushi isn't great and is incredibly overpriced. Some of the servers don't speak any English, so that's definitely not a plus.

The sashimi (tuna, salmon, white tuna) was very fresh and delicious. They give you 3 pieces per order instead of 1 or 2 like most places. Service was also good.

A unexpected find in Monroe, LA I was on business in Monroe, LA and was driving around looking for a place to eat. My plan was to find some good cajun food but I saw the sign for Ronin and tried it out. I am glad I did. The sushi was excellent. My favorite was the ronin roll which is basically a spicy tuna roll layered with avocados and eel (unagi). Nice combination. Service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend this place.

Oh my! So many sushi, nigiri, and sashimi options here! And it's all good! Great decor and atmosphere. Right across from the mall. The floor is a little slippery, so be careful ladies.

Our table ordered Crab Rangoon, spider roll, crazy roll, sesame chicken dinner, soft shell crab and the alligator roll. We enjoyed our food. Service was great.

Been here before and did not have the same experience as I had before. First off, after ordering sake, I received my drink and it had a dead spider in it. No compensation whatsoever for this gross negligence. I suppose this instance displays the restaurant's cleanliness. So they proceed to get me more sake that was barely luke warm - more like room temperature if that, which I had to pay for after the first order of sake had a dead spider in it. Then the food came: salad was nowhere close to tasty and their soup was the worst. I can make better onion soup than what they slung out to us. They didn't have any of the nigiri I wanted to order, so that was a mess to order since the server had to continue to go back and forth to figure out what nigiri they had in stock to serve. Why have nigiri menu at all then. The hibachi chef was great. Probably the best part of the night. The overall the food meh. So overall beside the interaction with the chef it was very subpar since I was there last. Since the chef was good they got two star instead of the one star I had been leaning toward. Don't know if I will take my family back, especially after receiving sake with a dead spider in it. I mean who doesn't check to make sure glasses and drinks are clean for their customers. Wonder what other insects get passed on to customers drinks.
