I have been to the St. Charles location which is now closed but this was my first experience at this location. I have to say I really enjoyed every aspect of my visit. The menu is just the right size and offers something for everyone but at the same time they seem to be able to do everything really well which I very much appreciate. They have awesome rotating specials from the "rotisserie" that include some really delicious items at great prices. When I went I decided to go with the tuna steak (not a special) because I am a straight up tuna freak. For my two sides I ordered the corn grits and roasted corn. When the plate came it looked like perfection. I cut into the tuna and it looked amazing. I cannot even praise their grits enough, if you've never had them you are seriously missing out! The roasted corn was just ok, it was not very exciting, I would recommend trying something else. The tuna though was phenomenal. It was perfectly cooked and had the most amazing flavor. It was really delicious and filling, also a great deal. I cannot wait to come back here, they are so on point in all the ways that matter when you want a nice meal.

Now that the St. Charles Avenue location no longer exists, I come here whenever I get Zea cravings. I've been to a handful of area Zea locations and I like this one a lot because it has a very open and spacious feel. It's also in Clearview Mall so you can get buzzed here then go to a movie, or do some buzzed shopping at Target, all within air conditioned comfort. Food wise, it's like every other Zea so you should know what to expect. I really think Zea puts a great product out there for a great value; the Thai ribs are always a winner, as is the tuna steak, as well as most of their rotating daily features (try the lamb sirloin). A review for Zea wouldn't be complete without mentioning the corn grits. Definitely a must get. I really like the drinks here too, especially the Spa Martini and Blueberry Crush. Pro tip: ALL drinks, cocktails, beer, wine, whatever, are 2-for-1 at the bar Monday-Friday until 6 PM. Service wise, everything is spot on, as one would expect from a Taste Buds restaurant. Zea, hurry up and open your CBD location.

Awesome experience. The rotisserie chicken with house seasoning was great. Not to mention- The cabbage was unreal.

I hadn't been to Zea's in awhile but always enjoy it. Went for lunch with a colleague and had an excellent plate off the new healthy menu: roast chicken that was really nicely herb spice, a great quinoa with vegetables and sugar snap peas. So yummy that I didn't feel like I was eating a "healthy" dish. My friend had a salmon salad that she enjoyed.

Came here basically for two reasons: 1) The place was highly recommended by co-workers familiar with the area / place and 2). It was right down the street, just a short drive down Veterans from our hotel. Came with a rather large group (~ 16) and since there was so many of us, we decided to head to the bar area to wait for our seating accommodations. Much to our surprise, and even without a prior reservation, were seated before we could even finish our first drink!!! Service here was not only friendly, but prompt as well, especially given the fact that we had such a large group!!! I ordered a 12 oz. Rib Eye, ( I believe the only other option was an even LARGER cut), a side of steamed broccoli and an order of red beans and rice. I have to say, that was one of the best rib eye's (short of my own), that I'd eaten in quite a while!!! Will definitely try them again on my next visit!!!

It was a Saturday night and we wanted a quick, but still somewhat healthy dinner. That's the tricky part - somewhat healthy! Fortunately, zea's is always a good option for that. We stuck to our regular menu selections - hummus flight, philly beef panini, asian salad, rotisserie chicken. This visit was especially wonderful thanks to "Esau R." While we were there during peak times, we did not have to wait long for anything. Everyone was hustling, especially Esau. I recently started keeping track of how long I have to wait for water, and how many glasses of water I am given per meal. Esau rocked it out of the park. 4 glasses of water! Thank you, Esau! I need 4 glasses of water with my meal, but most places only manage to serve me 2. This leaves me with an empty glass for most of my meal. If there were 6 stars, Esau definitely would have earned Zea's that additional star. I have recently been dissappointed in a few of my local favorites, but this particular Zea's location is always reliable on every count. Great atmosphere, great service, amazing quality food that is always consistent. This is thanks to the staff at Zea's! No matter how good the reputation, the staff are the people that can either slaughter or uphold a restaraunt's quality.

Had the ribs and grits. Great food, slow service. To be fair it was a busy Sunday so not rating too harshly. Very friendly staff. It was kinda pricey, but a good date night with the wife.

Zea is a chain restaurant, and with many chains, you get what you get. Not much wow factor or unique tidbits but you still may be able to catch a good bite. It is a bit more on the pricey side for a chain restaurant but some things aren't so bad. For apps I recommend the Asian almond shrimp. It's delicious fried shrimp tossed lightly in an Asian zing sauce. I love love the Mediterranean hummus and often order it as my entree. The feta, sun dried tomatoes and everything mixed in with the hummus makes it the most flavorful hummus I've yet to enjoy. whatever dish you order I recommend trying the roasted corn or the corn grits. They are my favorite two sides!

Busy during lunch, but great service. And the food was delicious. On the outer perimeter of Clearview mall.

Today is my bf and I second anniversary. We did really enjoy our dinner with their awesome foods and good service from Andrew. We had our appetizers with Thai Ribs and Duck Enchiladas, Yellowfin Tuna and Thai Ribs & Chicken for our entrees. They all were great. Thank you so much!!

My wife and I came here for lunch one day when we were at the Clearview mall doing some shopping. We have always wanted to try this restaurant and were drawn in while passing by inside the plaza (there is an entrance from the parking lot as well). I tried the Casablanca chicken which is two Mediterranean spiced pan seared chicken breasts over loaded hummus with delicious sun dried tomatoes, olives, feta cheese, roasted garlic and pita bread. I would order this dish again in the future. My wife had the Pesto Crusted Idaho trout with the roasted corn grits and thai snap beans. It was very tasty as well and we probably even favored the trout over the Casablanca chicken. Service was excellent and our waiter was very friendly. The ambience reminded us of a California restaurant we used to love called BJ's brewhouse. We will be back to try other dishes on the menu!

The reason I give this 5 stars is because the food is excellent, and is constantly excellent. Service is always quick and great! One of the best things on the menu is an appetizer called the tuna stack! The specialty of this restaurant is the rotisserie dishes. The rotisserie chicken is incredible and so are the ribs! I recommend the thai ribs. Also, they make a very good ribeye ! The best entree is the fresh yellowfin tuna with a ginger soy marinade and orange basil butter!!! Incredible. As a side I would get the corn grits, which they do like no other. If you are in the mood for a sandwich, the burgers. Over all, if you are looking for a restaurant that won't break the bank and is always consist and delicious, this is your go to place.

I wish we had these in California! I'm such a fan of this place! The hummus flight was delicious. There were too many onions for my taste in the shrimp & grits, but the grits were soooo good. Our server was a sweetheart also. I was very glad to stumble upon this place.

Amazing food, incredible service/wait staff! We got the garlic herb rotisserie and the rosemary garlic pork loin. Holy heavens. Both were so delicious. But the best had to be the sweet potato bread pudding. I don't even like bread pudding much and this was out of control. One of the best desserts I've ever had in my life!!! It was like Christmas. Anyhow, one more thing I need to get off my chest real quick.... I ordered a hot tea, laughing with our fantastic waitress Jennifer, that I was chilly & it would warm me up. Within 2 minutes, the manager walked over to let me know they brought the temp up for me. Wtf!!! Who does that? This incredible zeas. That's who. That has never happened to me in my life. I didn't even ask or complain about the temp, they were just crazy in-tune with their customers. Wonderful experience. Can't wait to head back to this one. Yes yes YES!

I don't usually like to write negative reviews, but for the sake of your next meal, do NOT go to Zea's. I have been to two locations of Zea's a number of times and have consistently had terrible service. It's great that they have so many people on one shift that a different person takes your plates as fills your water as takes your order as brings your food, yet still the superfluous worker bees buzzing all around you take ages to bring out your food. The poor quality of the food is definitely not worth the wait. A few visits ago the server asked us if our edamame was "that gross" that we didn't even touch it. She seemed to have no understanding of the fact that you do not eat the outside pods of edamame, and we had actually eaten it all. On my most recent visit, it took our server 15 minutes to come take our drink orders. By then we were ready to order our whole meal because we where starved. I ordered a salad for my meal and received a side salad. Why one would not think to ask whether this was a purposeful mistake is beyond me. What's more is that I asked to not have bleu cheese put on top of my salad and was unsurprised to find my soggy, close-to-rotten spinach topped with bleu cheese. At the end of our meal we discovered splitting a check was rocket science when our server returned to our table to ask who ordered what four times. And then still charged the wrong cards. Thankfully it was my friend's birthday so I didn't mind as much that I bought her meal and she bought my side salad. I am more than fed up with the terrible service at Zea's and do not find the overpriced, bad food worth the trouble. I would give this place negative stars if I could.

Stopped by for a quick lunch before I was headed to the airport. I think I chose the perfect spot! Came in at 11:30 am and there was plenty of seating available. Our hostess was very pleasant and happy to greet us with that southern smile. We took seating near the window, and it gave us a clear view of the rest of the restaurant which was very nice, near, and tidy. Our server was Annette and she was equally as pleasant as the hostess ( i apologize for forgetting her name.) I ordered the corn grits and asian almond shrimp. The corn grits were quite delicious, as normally i find grits to be a tasteless starch. The asian almond shrimp were awesome. Fried shrimp dipped in a sweet soy sauce! It was a party of flavor! We were also greeted by the general manager , Alan. He was a very friendly fellow, quick to make any recommendations on the menu. With such a great staff and great food Id say Id be happy to stop by here again!

I have only ever done take out but I love their Thai ribs, garlic and herb chicken and last but not least the corn grits. I am not from the south. I ate my grits with sugar and butter for breakfast. Zea showed me that grits can be for dinner too! So yummy! The manager was really nice. Made good eye contact for my order and explained the wait time and why they were keeping my itemized receipt till my food came out. Very happy. I make sure to come here whenever I come to NOLA for business.

I'd probably give Zea's a 3.5 based on past visits overall if that was an option here. I go here on occasion, but I've noticed that it's always at someone else's suggestion. It's just never been one of my top "go-to" choices. I do like that the menu choices are a bit different and unique and I become a bit of a creature of habit when I eat here. I find myself usually ordering the Thai ribs (wet) with the corn grits and sugar snap beans and always enjoy them - usually with plenty leftovers for a go box. This last visit however I discovered they have added some small plates items. I don't know how new this is, but I just don't recall seeing them on the menu before. Since I'm not a big eater this is perfect for me. The 3 of us together just wanted a quick bite so we shared the spinach dip appetizer (creamy and delicious, by the way) and I also got the small plate order of shrimp lettuce wraps. I now wish I had taken a picture because this did not arrive quite as expected. Whenever I've gotten lettuce wraps at any other restaurant, the lettuce is crispy and both big enough and strong enough to hold its contents (similar to a soft taco shell). That was not the case here. The wraps arrived in one of those little accordion looking metal taco holders that keeps tacos upright on a plate so everything looked fine upon presentation. However, I immediately noticed that the lettuce was wilted. I don't know if that's supposed to be the case or if I just got a bad batch of lettuce. The shrimp and toppings, (which included a sirracha sauce) were overflowing. This was a good thing, but there was no way to pick them up and eat them like a wrap. Everything basically fell apart in my hands and we all had a good laugh at me trying to eat them without looking like an animal. In the end, I pretty much used either my fingers or a fork to finish eating them. The good news is that they were delicious and flavorful, but definitely not able to be able to eat them in the manner described. If you're tempted to order them, you will want to ask the server in advance if they're supposed to be on crispy or wilted lettuce.

How is it that the best meal I've had to date during my romp in NOLA is here? What happened to the hole in the walls, the incredible restaurants I've had bookmarked for this trip? Zea's has beat all of those hands down. I think this is my very first 5 star review for any chain....just saying, our experience was that good' First, let me just say that the service was outstanding. Our server John was the best-fast, funny and chatty. Second, the value for what you get is fantastic. We paid for dinner with drinks and dessert for less than a lunch downtown. What can I recommend? Thai ribs with corn grits and red brand and rice. Those corn grits! I wish I could throw up a love emoji on this post because that's how much I adored them. The rotisserie chicken was also very good, tender, moist and full of flavor. Mediterranean hummus was the bomb! An excellent start to the meal. And if you have room left from their large portions, get the sweet potato bread pudding-get it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you're set.

The Spinach salad is delicious with fresh spinach leaves and mouth watering pepper jelly dressing but we have had take out 3 times and the results have been very inconsistent . The first time was scrumptious with lots of tangy sundries tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles and more . 2 weeks later we picked up 2 more and we couldn't wait to get home, but we're so disappointed to find almost no "goodies" just a lot of spinach leaves. Tonight I called and explained what happened and asked for extra items , but again got mostly leaves and this time just one very small container of dressing in each salad (usually there are 2). Won't try again them again for take-out, but the dressing is delicious !

I was a little wary of this place because it is a brew pub. The food was surprisingly good. I have usually found interesting dishes at brew pubs but I wasn't feeling like an adventurer today. I was pleasantly surprised. We went fairly early for dinner (about 5 pm) on a Friday night. 10 minute wait to be seated. It took a few minutes to have our waitress come serve us but after that she turned into the perfect server. We had the guacamole and chips as an appetizer. They arrived very quickly. Then we split the chicken and ribs meal. We had the roasted corn grits and black Eyed Peas with cabbage. Dessert was sweet potato bread pudding and caramel turtle brownie. I'm stuffed to the gills.

The bar area had plenty of seats so I chose to sit here. We were immediately greeted and given menus. I ordered a glass of Moscato, duck empanadas (free with same day movie ticket) and gulf fish tacos. The wine was ok, not as sweet as I like. The food was very good. I didn't expect that I would have to assemble my tacos (much like one would with fajitas) but that didn't stop me from enjoying them. Overall a good experience and good food.

I have never been to a restaurant anywhere else like Zea's. Everything I have had has an unique taste to it and the quality of food is wonderful. Menu is full of options you will only find in New Orleans. It is pricey but we'll worth the taste and unique dishes they offer.

Service was lacking. Empty bowls, drinks, and plates sat on the table after each course, even though other waiters and hostesses walked by numerous times. The Korean BBQ was chewy in parts, but the shrimp and corn soup was good.

I filled out the comment card at Zea's and the restaurant manager called me today. She is sending me a gift card as an apology for my poor meal I had the other night. Was shocked that I even received a call! Wow! That was nice!

Taste/Quality: A I was visiting New Orleans for work and I had never heard of this place before, but my co-worker swore by it so I was all in! On this visit, I enjoyed: (1) Asian Almond Shrimp fried crisp, honey ginger chili glaze (2) Roasted Corn Grits boneless; served with rum bbq sauce The Asian Almond shrimp was amazing! The shrimp were a nice size and the vegetable garnish, almonds and the honey ginger chili glaze just came together in ways I couldn't begin to describe but that plate was so clean, the dishwasher probably didn't even think it had been used. The real surprise for me was the Roasted Corn Grits. I had been to Covington a few years ago, so I was aware that grits were HUGE in Louisiana but there was really no description for them so I kind of just went for them. I don't know what was in those grits but it was the most interesting (in a good way) ensemble of tastes I had ever experienced. It tasted like there were cheese in it as well and when I added sugar all of a sudden it had conflicting tastes - kind of a more subtle lunch side with a dash of sweetness and it was delicious! Order Accuracy: A Everything came out as ordered. Selection: A You'd be hard pressed to find a restaurant in Louisiana that doesn't have a pretty diverse and extensive menu. Service: B The waitress was good. The only thing that could have been better was drink refills. Price: A Food in Louisiana is typically more expensive than your average drive-thru but the quality makes it so much better (both taste and nutritiously). For both dishes and a tea it came out to a little over $20 - not bad, but consider that I had an appetizer and a side and a drink and it is flirting with being on the steep side. However, I thoroughly enjoyed everything so I can't complain too much there.

How can anybody not like Zeas?! Zeas. Is inexpensive, delicious food, and always accept walk ins....and and AND so much more! Service has always been great. Food comes out oh so very FAST! Every single time. Everything I've tried has been tasty. The Mediterranean hummus, so good! This would make a nice entree as well. I love love love the pepper jelly salad w/ and w/o chicken. It's delicious and HUGE! The corn grits never fails...EVER. The half Thai ribs is plentiful, flavorful, and yummm! The cheeseburger, medium, is also good and I usually load it with all of their topping options w/ a side of sweet potatoes fries.. Or.. corn grits.! Yes I pick corn grits w/ everything. The only thing I would pass on is the sausage, shrimp, grits thing...I don't really fancy the sausage, it tastes kind of bland...all in all its pretty much like porridge with a scoop of corn grits in the middle, but if you like sausage and shrimp porridge I say go for it. Add hotsauce. This Zeas is pretty awesome. It's weirdly located in Clearview mall, but that doesn't kill my appetite, just take a walk around, shop a little, or catch a movie after!

This Zea is one of our go-to places for lunch in the Metairie area. We find ourselves at Clearview mall a lot and Zea's definitely benefits from being conveniently located in the mall. This is one of the few places I frequent that I always get something different... they have an awesome menu selection with lots of options. BOTTOM LINE: Great place for lunch... LOTS to choose from.

I visited this for the first time recently. It was rather late, and they were out of their signature roast chicken. Bummer. We ordered ribs and the sirloin. I have to say that the sides are far better than the main dishes. The ribs were reasonably tasty, but the sirloin was full of gristle. A huge disappointment. The grits, however, were amazing. The other side dishes were good as well. The service was fine, though the waiter waited until we ordered to mention what was unavailable. The sweet potato bread pudding was massive and pretty tasty. All in all, with exception of a misstep on the main course it was an okay experience and I'd probably give it another try in the future.

Went one Sunday and there was a baby shower celebration. That's nice and all until you have the baby's dad come in smelling like he smoking a joint in the restaurant. It lingered my our table, absolutely disgusting. It was so pungent. If I were the manager I would have told the father he couldn't stay.

Took the family here for lunch. They had quite a few items on the kids menu and crayons to keep the children occupied. My kids were excited about the Shirley Temples since you don't see that offered on the kids menu at too many places. My son loved the Mac and cheese. It was penne pasta with real melted cheese. I like that there was a lunch menu. I got the fried fish. It was cooked perfectly and really tender. I was disappointed that they were out mashed sweet potatoes. I got some small garlic potatoes which I didn't care for. We shared a pecan cheesecake for dessert and it was super sweet with real whipping cream. The service was great and the restroom was clean.

For a place known for being a rotisserie I was amazed at how good their burgers are. They have their regular burger and a Kobe option. The ribs, and Rotisserie are some of the best in the city, but if you can try one of the other locations, this location while great is very crowded being in Clearview Mall and all. It's very loud and often there's a long wait (same thing with the St. Charles location) But the food is outstanding and their in house brewed beer in surprisingly very good as well. Also I didn't find out until recently, but their sauces are all bottled and sold in Rouses if you ever want to try and make your own version of their dishes.

The place was packed for Sunday brunch so us 7 ladies are at the bar. Service was prompt. I had the Korean BBQ tacos (roll your own) and side of pepper jelly salad. Everything was so good! My friends had the chicken sandwich (huge!), jambalaya, tuna salad, duck empanadas and they were impressed.

Zea's has a corporate feel but I have to remind myself all 5 locations are locally owned and operated. And I do love to support the locals way more than a generic corporate place. That being said, they get one star off the bat. The food rates at about a 3.5. Good flavor, a few unique dishes, good portions and average pricing. They only serve their home brewed beer which I've never tried. But thumbs up for brewing it all yourself- hopefully its good. Its a standard lunch/ dinner place that you can go on a date or take the fam. Kids menu is spot on.

Roasted Corn was bland and grey with unidentifiable food particles in it. Mashed sweet potatoes was edible but flavorless. Red beans and rice more like red sauce and rice. Rotisserie chicken was the only redeeming factor of this meal. John, the server, could have enunciated his words a whole lot better.

Our family came here for lunch on the way home from New Orleans. There were 7 of us and we were seated quickly! Kid friendly with crayons and kids menus with lots of yummy options for them. Our orders came quickly, and even though my order had a mistake, it was fixed quickly. They gave me the wrong side, but brought the correct one immediately and let me keep the wrong one. And I have to say, the mistake order was better than my original choice. Overall- great service, family friendly and great food! Everyone (kids and all) loved everything they ordered. Try the roasted corn grits, my fave.

Zea's is one of my favorite places to eat. The Asian almond shrimp, Thai spice ribs, duck empanadas, Koreans tacos, and the panini's are delicious!!!! I love to wash it down with the strawberry lemonade. You can easily spend a lot of money here so choose wisely!!!

Take out BEWARE. We have been customers of Zeas for a long while. Their food is always tasty and relatively well priced. However, we recently ordered take-out and were very disappointed. When we got home, the meal was incomplete, two side dishes were missing and WORSE, on the box containing Thai ribs, one rack had been replaced with a bone....yep a bare bone! It was our last night in town before leaving town on vacation, so we could not go back to complain. I will not order take out from Zeas EVER again

Zea Rotisserie & Grill (Metairie). The family was pleasantly surprised at how nice a time we had. We zipped in, in the midst of a shopping frenzy, expecting a quick lunch, and were delighted by a great dining experience. The hostess and server were fast and courteous, and the manager stopped by, just to see everything was going smoothly. The food was delicious, and the restaurant was immaculate. We would be happy to return anytime. I was disappointed to learn that only the Zea Garden District/Uptown location participated in COOLinary New Orleans. Sorry we missed it! Maybe next year ... NOT, you won't catch me in New Orleans in August again! :)

Located by the Clearview Mall. PARKING/DECOR. The parking lot is a private lot for the mall, so it could possibly be hard to find parking. The decor is nice..dimmed lights, small tables - an intimate setting. There are tables, booths, and an open bar. SERVICE: Upon stepping in, my cousins and I were greeted and seated immediately by a host. We were seated in the back, where the booths were. Our server Dwayne (or Wayne?) was friendly but a bit slow.... My cousins and I were very indecisive about things but he was welcome to recommend us appetizers and drinks. No rush and he always checked in on us. I would give him a 3/5 stars. FOOD: The food was good..but it wasn't amazing. We ordered some duck thing as appetizer and it was good..but we finished it quite fast. When our entrees arrived, it felt a bit cold... which is a disappointment. My cousin ordered a rib-eye (~$30) and it comes only in one size - 16 oz! That thing was huge! I ordered the Pesto Crusted Trout.. it was crunchy and it tasted alright. It came in like two? haha. 3/5 for food. For drinks, I ordered a classic Sunrise Cool (~$8). I just turned 21 recently, so I'm still a lightweight. It was sweet and yummy for me..I could still taste the alcohol but not a lot, which I found perfect. Since I was running on an empty stomach, I did have a good buzz going on quick, haha. Came with a slice of orange and cherry. Yums! Overall, the service was good. The place was nice and the food was alright. Would come back again.

Great service and great food. If you are a first timer and are from our oft, I recommend this place. First off, if you are from out of town, you get a small discount. Our waitress was very good as well, strong personality. She actually engaged us in conversation, not just small talk. The portion sizes are modest and not too pricey. Next time I am in New Orleans, I am coming back.

Always a good stop whenever I visit. I had the shrimp and grits this time, which were just okay, but usually I have never disliked anything I've ever ordered. The fried goat cheese with fig and caramelized onion jam was delicious. I also really enjoy the pesto trout. You can never go wrong with rotisserie pork either.

Loved it! Thai Ribs, duck and sweet potato bread pudding!! Lawdy! Lawdy! Food was amazing. I live in Houston & frequent the city quite a bit and one could easily over look this restaurant in a sea of many but that would be a mistake. Did I mention the Thai ribs?? Just amazing

Always good no matter the location. They have great corn grits, I think they use lard, don't eat if you're on a diet. And if you order the thin fried catfish all you can eat plate, they give about 100,000 catfish on the first plate, plan to share. And French fries and hush puppies. Great pasta and rotisserie chicken. Order the chicken even if you don't usually eat it, they really take the time to cook it with a lot of flavor.

I was so scared going to this place thinking I would hate everything there but ended up having trouble deciding what to get because there was so much. The service is EXCELLENT And the food is also , I cannot wait to go back

Even though this place is a chain, Zea's is awesome! Even my mom, who enjoys going to Chinese restaurants and does not often venture out of the sphere of Asian cuisines, enjoys Zea's. Every time I've been here, the food and service have been consistent. I always get the half rack Thai ribs with corn grits and fries. The meat on the ribs are fall-off-the-bone succulent and delicious! Zea's is known for their corn grits, and it is indeed buttery and scrumptious, with bites of actual corn. My date has gotten the rotisserie chicken before, and it was moist and juicy. He's also tried the tender pork roast with rosemary garlic glaze, which was the rotisserie platter of the day, and we both agree that the dish was too salty and bland. This place offers good rotisserie meats for a reasonable price. There's always enough food for me to take home for a second meal, so that's a plus!

An amazing locally owned restaurant! My faves here are: Mediterranean hummus, spinach salad with pepper jelly vinaigrette, thai ribs, chicken & red beans & rice, grits & sweet potato bread pudding. I have been going to Zea's since the Hickory Ave. location opened many years ago. Love it!!!

I will sing the praises of Zea hummus...yes hummus! Every other hummus plate just pales in comparison to Zea's. Plus, they have a good house pinot noir. Gimme a glass of vino and a hummus and I'm good to go. Why stop there? Why not get the panini so I can gorge on it and still have leftovers. I am not a fan of their "bowls of soup" It's so shallow it could count as a plate. I have been coming to Zea's since high school and have yet to have a bad server so Zea's is a win in my book.

Having tried about 50-75 different restaurants around New Orleans area since we moved here last year, we had not had much luck lately finding anything new (for us) and noteworthy, often having meals not worth mentioning with a promise not to return again, and we were getting tired of the same 5-10 places we always seem to go for a meal. Last week we were going to Metairie to do some holiday shopping and were looking for some place to eat that was not Panera or Chick Fillet. We stopped in to check out Zea Rotisserie & Grill next to the Target. What a delightful surprise to find a place we would choose to come back to again! The atmosphere was comfortable, professional, and casual but a bit upscale. They brew a selection of their own beer. I had an Amber which was noteworthy and a great deal at $4.50/pint. My partner had a stout which he quite enjoyed for $7.50/22 oz. For a meal I had Red Beans and Rice which came with a tasty grilled sausage and 2 boneless fried chicken breasts on top of the Red Beans and Rice. I think the cost was $10.95. The Chicken was flavorful and juicy, the Beans and Rice as expected- creamy with a little kick and the Sausage was grilled perfectly and very tasty. My partner had the Rotisserie Chicken with roasted potato wedge and dirty rice ($13.95). He thought everything was great and has since mentioned going back again. The service was also quick and friendly. In shot, recommended for a comfortable, casual meal.

Loved the Asian Almond Shrimp and Trout Lafitte with Creole cream Sauce with bread pudding in a rum sauce for dessert! OMG good! Justin our server did a great job too! Atmosphere was great! Was my first time, would definitely recommend and come again!

thai ribs: excellent, the flavor was very different in a good way. the small appetizer portion has 3 ribs which are big. duck empanadas: good. crispy. but not stand out. It was not as good as the Empanadas Criollas @ La Boca. It was placed a closed plastic container. Many restaurants do this stupid way. Does the cook not know what will happen to hot crispy thing when it is placed in a closed container?

I like Zea's. I really like Zea's. It's consistent thanks to it's chain-like qualities and I've never been disappointed. The one in Clearview has been hit and miss though with a loss and win in each of my previous two outings. The loss, featured a waiter that kept forgetting things, drinks, straws, and in one case taking one of my friends orders. But overall the good was great like always. The last time was for a movie and dinner with me and my favorite vegan. Everything went well with the waiter even trying to see if they could make a specialty drink that used to be on the menu. (They couldn't but points for at least trying.) MFV's favorite Portobello Veggie Panini w/ fries, while I usually like the Trout Lafitte with dirty rice and Thai snap beans. Like I said the food is consistent and makes for a good backup choice or after movie location.

Went for dinner around 6:30pm on a Thursday. They were crowded, but did not have a wait. Had the red beans and rice with sausage and fried chicken plate ($13). Serving size is big for dinner, two large pieces of chicken. Service was just ok. Had some large gaps where our waitress disappeared. Manager did come by and was very friendly.

It's not just the food that keeps me coming again and again to this place, it's oddly enough the staff! Don't get me wrong the Zea's salad, the Thai ribs, and (oddly enough) the guacamole is AMAZING here and for the most part are all my favorite things to order. But the service here is what I feel should be most noted. Lets face it, having good food in a city like New Orleans is a dime a dozen. But having a pleasant staff and good service seems to be increasingly hard to come by in this town. I rarely frequent bars by myself because I feel awkward or like I'm going to make myself prey to some creepy old man before I finish my first drink. But at Zea's I go by myself often. The bartender is always friendly and chats me up no matter how busy they may be and the food is consistently good. Also, they don't have a single bad cocktail on their menu. I love salads but I always feel like some placed disappoint with the freshness if their lettuce. I've never had that problem at Zea's. For me, Zea's is like that old boyfriend that you still call up on the phone every once in awhile during your first year away from home, because at the end of the day, he still knows you better than all the new friends you made at college. I may have found lots of new places to eat, but Zea's never disappoints and I always go back.

The most unfrofessional front desk hostesses I've ever seen. They seem like a bunch of kids, talking extremely loud and playing around. Speaking differently in the presence of different races entering the restaurant or co-workers . One woman was having a conversation with the manager, while assisting me; when the conversation could've waited until she rang me up. The women were so busy chatting about nonsense that my order had been sitting and they didn't bother to tell me it was there. Only after one of the hostesses asked another woman if it was her order ignoring me, and the woman siting across rild me it may be my order. I had to ask the hosttess, if it was my order and sure enough it was. She was about to put it back in the stack of pick up orders rather than a to-go order.

Not a very wide menu and the prices are steep for lunch but the food was good. Bronzed trout with red beans and rice was very good. I also tasted the pork special which was a bit too salty for me. I'd eat here again but it wouldn't be my first choice.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a healthy salad option while in New Orleans after a few days of eating fried food and came across Zea. We were just in the mood to get a takeout salad to bring back to the hotel and both got the Pepper Jelly Chicken Salad. I loved the salad and so did he. Lots of chicken on it and a great healthy option with all of the fried food around here. I would definitely get this again. I can't speak to ambiance of the restaurant or wait staff since we got takeout but would eat here again!

First time at Zea's. Great 1st impression! I had a new dish, the Korean Tacos, which were a cross between lettuce wraps and soft tacos. Quite simply AMAZEBALLS!!!!! I will order them again and again and again! I am going to try and duplicate this tasty treat at home.

This is my third time at Zea's....the food was really delicious...I had for the third time, The Thai Ribs...I always order a full rack and then take the leftovers for another meal...fall off the bone yum....asian shrimp appetizers a must...snap peas...The wait staff is always professional and pleasant...Everytime the manager has come to the table and I chat about our experience....First time compd(mgr. John) the bread pudding as we explained we were first timers, second time the manager (Alan) compd my Mom a bottle of the salad dressing as she was visiting from out of state and was already taking home two bottles of the chili sauce....and today Mother's Day...I got a ten dollar gift card...clean, good variety, kids menu (Alfredo noodles---amazing!)...would recommend to all...

I first had great service and fast! I travel so it's rate to find my specific request "gluten free menu?" They have one! The chicken was good and I was loving my sweet potatoes. (For once I could taste the yummy vegetable vs. all the brown sugar people load onto them.) and to top it all off... $12.00!

We had Christmas lunch from Zea's at our work place.. I loved the garlic chicken so much that I visited within a week.. They have one of the best grits and their trade mark is rositerrie chicken with garlic herb( the juiciest grilled chicken I ever had). Hummus and pita were also very good.

Zea's offers a standard American/Creole menu at pretty good prices. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of red beans and rice which were above average, but for some reason not memorable. I DO remember liking the red beans and rice more than the sandwich but that's about all I can say!

    (3)
  • Tiffany G.

Grilled chicken sandwich was good! Braised cabbage was really good! Corn grits were great! People at my table raved about the red beans and rice, though the red snapper was just ok. Not a fan of skin left on! 3.5 stars for a great lunch though!

I love this Zea locaton. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is always on point. I never had a bad experience here yet. I live on the Westbank and the one at our location is awful. I'm willing to drive to this one to get a decent meal rather then pay the same price and get the crappy version of it.

Zea's has some pretty solid rotisserie meats and some interesting sides that are not very common at other restaurants in the area. They are a bit pricey for what they offer. Zea has very consistently good (but not great) meat and seafood. I generally avoid chain places like the plague but this is a local operation and has quality far and above most other "chain" type operations. I will go for the meat maybe about twice a year.

I went to this Zea's today for lunch, Because my last two experiences weren't that great, I was kind of nervous. Although the place was crowded, I was seated quickly. I got the catfish strips with hush puppies. It came with a choice of two sides, so I got broccoli and corn grits. The food came quickly, which was impressive, because literally every table in the place was full. The catfish was great. It was very lightly battered and the strips were a great size. The portions were big, which is always a good thing, when you are spending $11 for lunch. The place wasn't noisy at all and the waiter was very attentive, even though he was swamped with tables. This was a MUCH better experience than the last two times I was at Zea's. I would definitely return to this location.

This place surprised me with delicious food and great service. Hearing it was a chain, I was a bit put-offish but several locals recommended it, so we met some friends there. We started with the duck empanadas which were really good. I ordered the crispy duck and it was amazing. Very tender and delicious, and just the right amount of sweet and spicy. Great. My wife had the thai ribs and rotisserie chicken, which she loved both, although neither of us finished all of it because portions were so big. Everyone in our party was very satisfied, and had no complaints.

Had the twice cooked duck which was very good since I love duck. It is nowhere near as good as Upperline but you don't expect it to be. The problem I have with Zea's is that their entrees are good but their sides leave much to be desired. I am not crazy about any of them, but as long as the entree is good the meal is ok but not great.

I am neeeever disappointed when I visit Zea's!! I get different appetizers and main dishes everytime I go...and I love them all! I usually don't have room left for dessert so I cant comment on the sweet side of Zea. But they are really nice, not in a fake personality kinda way either. They are very professional! CLEAAAAN restaurant! They make me happy!

"Great food!" Recommended: * Thai-style wet ribs - hands down the best ribs I have ever had, meat falls off the bone, lots of meat, great flavor. 2nd place would be Texas Roadhouse. * Pesto crusted trout * Portobello veggie panini * Roasted corn (side dish) * Roasted corn grits (side dish) Not recommended: * Rotisserie beef - too dry Zea's is the best tasting bar & grill style restaurant that I've been to. I hope it becomes a national chain one day.

I like the food but I never eat here. I don't like the look of the place. I don't like the giant conical fermenters lining the back wall that aren't in use. I have eaten here and the service was good, but it's still just a bland experience. I used know the head chef of this location and he would bring me pounds of corn grits. We would go fishing and he would bring a platter of ribs. I order the ribs and corn grits from take out taxi a few times a month. I've had several things that failed to impress me (the burger, the half chicken) but nothing bad. Skip the beer. They have 4 types which are all brewed by Heiner Brau in Covington. Clearview Gold - A light kolsch. Similar to coors light. Cat 5 pale ale - Half way decent pale ale, but still light on flavor for an ale. Amber lager - Their version of Abita amber or Boston Lager. Not as good as either of them. Pontchartrain Porter - Probably my favorite of all their brews, but still a pretty lackluster stout. My recommendation is to eat here but either get it to go or have it delivered.

Felt like I had to update my review. Yes,we love Zea's dont we all? The hub decided he wanted either Bonefish or Zeas but Bonefish wasnt open til Monday so Zeas it was. We started with the oyster and artichoke soup. It arrived lukewarm. Rich Im sure from the heavy cream in that soup. It was good no doubt. We always order mediterranean hummus but this time they barely had any hummus on there. Cmon yall, hummus is friggin cheap ok? They gave us alot of the sundried tomatoes this time but not enough hummus. The fried oysters were great with the sweet chili sauce. The hubs loves the cornmeal batter they use. We also ordered the butterfly shrimp dish, jumbo battered fried shrimp served with 2 small scoops of corn grits, they tight with the grits man. My favorite was the Salmon Stack. I think Im gonna try to make this at home but with cubed watermelon. I tasted mango, corn, avocado, salmon and lime. No need for the salt, it taste fine and fresh at it is. For easter Im going to replicate this salad. It was off the chain yall. Service was ok, cant complain, this place is always packed but I wonder what will happen when Bonefish Grill opens. I dont know if there will be any effect on Zeas at all but I highly doubt it since there are plenty of customers to go around. Parking is in a share strip mall with Target, Clearview Mall. Ive always enjoyed this location as oppose to the other 2 locations though. Cash and credit are accepted, be prepared for long waits on weekends and some weeknights.

Came here for a drink with some friends after arriving into town. It's a chain, yes, but pleasant. I wasn't crazy about their home-brewed beer, so I stuck with wine. We shared a spinach and artichoke appetizer as well, which wasn't bad. The menu did have some options for us vegetarians, but we were there principally to drink and socialize. The service was excellent and hospitable.

Actual samples of a conversation with N., my 12 y/o son, at Zea: N: (entering) "Oh my God it smells so good. Do you smell that, mom?" PMFL: "Yep. Smells good." N: "Oh my God. It smells so good." PMFL: "Uh huh." N: "It smells so good oh my God." N: (at the table) "Oh my God this is so good. The meat is falling off the bone. Oh my God it's so good. How's yours, mom?" PMFL: "umm hmmm. It's good." N: "Oh my God this is so good. I love it." PMFL: "Yep." N: "Alex are you going to eat the rest of yours? It looks so good. Oh my God." N: "Mom, I love this place. Oh my God." PMFL: "Yeah, it's pretty good." So, in a nutshell, this place is pretty good. Oh my God yeah yeah. The menu is simple barbeque fare, which is well done but nothing spectacular. I had the 1/2 BBQ chicken, which was ok, but I've had better - particularly at $16 a plate. The loquacious one had ribs with french fries and red beans and rice on the side. He devoured it all in less than 10 minutes and started eyeing everyone's plates, so I suppose they were slightly better than the chicken. The bf had some rotisserie beef burgundy, which he said was sort of "meh." By far the stand out of the evening was the philly steak panini that el deuco ordered. That shit was the bomb - I had had Zea's paninis at catered events and always thought they were great. These were even better and served with a side of awesome mustard BBQ sauce... If you go to Zea, you should get ribs, panini, the awesome spinach salad, and absolutely the roasted corn grits. For the priciness of the menu ($80 for 4 - including two children), take my word for it.

I've never had bad service here, and I've been here a few times since it's one of the few places the whole family can agree on... Our waiter was very capable of handling our table of 9 even though it was his second day! The atmosphere is great, they seemed to play a lot of great music. Good beer, even BETTER food (try the GRITS). What more can you ask for? p.s. I posted a photo of my Casablanca chicken which was tiny pieces of chicken on a bed of hummus with feta cheese and chunks of garlic and tomatoes.. and.. goodness... yum.

this place reminds me of houstons... one of those corporate spots with great food, a little higher price, gigantic spaces filled with business men doing deals, and lots of sides... appetizers, soups, daily specials, and more... I came here for a salad, cause I know they have great salads. I got the pepper jelly chicken salad. this is not a fat free meal by any means, but one your taste buds won't soon forget. spinach, walnuts, dried apricots, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese, pepper jelly coated grilled chicken, calamata olives, and a few other goodies all piled high on a plate. I hadn't eaten all day, and I scarfed this down with glee! I read the menu back and forth, there's so many selections. The place is huge, and yet, there was a waiting list, so I went to the bar. I was served immediately, and refills on the drink was plentiful. nice, neat, clean, and fast. I'll be back for another salad later this month. I'll be more than happy to try them all.

Nice upscale chain restaurant with good food. I had the bronzed trout with corn grits and thai snap beans. The trout was cooked perfectly, the grits to die for and the thai snap beans okay. **The Hummus is 5 Stars!! Service was slow at lunch- expect to spend over an hour from seating to finish.

The biggest problem with Zea is that the lackluster entrees are overshadowed by their amazing sides. The corn grits are AMAZING and the other sides are almost as good. But sadly, the main courses were just ho-hum, especially at the prices charged. Save some money, get a big order of corn grits to go and serve them with something you've made yourself.

    (3)
  • Nathan A.

Overpriced sysco food do yourself a favor if youvest here get an app or something cheap then at least you wont feel bad about paying for something out of a bag. Expecting someone to pay $20 for a premade entree is ludicrous.

I don't generally like chain like restaurants but I really like Zea. They have a great menu. I don't eat any meats so I usually have a few of the side orders. The corn grits are awesome. I LOVE grits and consider myself a grit connoisseur and these are some of my favorites. I also had a great red... but for the life of me I can not remember what it was. My mom had the rotisserie chicken with garlic and herbs. It smelled delicious. She really enjoyed it. She loved her peach cosmo. Although it was a bit expensive for the size. Our food literally came out 5 minutes after ordering, a bit fast for my taste as we just got our drinks, but it always is pretty quick when we eat there. Great place to go right before a movie or when in the Clearview area.

Soooooooooooooooo dry and boring. I literally pushed my food around the plate to make it look like I ate my chicken. My boyfriend had an equally bad experience with the pork. The grits where tasty though. Should have gone to the subway inside the mall.

This rating is a reflection of THIS location... The service is hit or miss. I have had a decent server, an overworked and frazzled young server and a down right rude server. The food is very hit or miss here, as well. I am not sure why, but that has been the case this year. Last year, I had better food there, but hey...the past is the past. I was recently stuck on Vets. because of a parade and decided to wait it out at Zea's. I was promptly seated, as there weren't many patrons. My waitress came to the table asked and immediately asked if I was ready to order. Could I get all the way seated?! I ordered a water and when she brought it back she asked if I was ready again!!! I placed my order for the rotisserie chicken with broccoli and sweet potatoes. I received my food in a timely manner. The chicken honestly would have been better if they bought it at wal-mart. The sides were fine. She never checked on me again. I had to request my box, check and water.

Ok, I know it's a chain, but it's a local chain.....and good. And it's in a mall!! But, still, I go. There's something for everyone. I like the lighter fare, specifically the sashimi tuna and avocado stack (with of peanut vinaigrette on the side), with a side of thai sugar snaps. If you want something heavier/more filling, back in my faster metabolism days I used to get the thai rib appetizer and a side of corn grits. Yum!! Almost worth a run around the park to work off.

We ended up at this place by accident, so glad we did. The food was pretty good especially the corn grits and fried oyster appetitizer but the service at this place was so good. Our.server was very friendly we told her it was our first time here and she alerted the manager that we were.first timers and he thanked us for our business with a $10 discount. Wow! Okay so.we went to the movies and afterwards needed a cab because the service we used to get here didn't pick up. So they immediately called a cab for us and once again the manager came to make sure we were taken care of. Nice! These people have customer service on lock. It is a must to visit here just to be treated so well!

I've been here many times and it was one my favorite places to order take out until they eliminated my favorite dish, Mesa Chicken Pasta. Their lunch menus are very reasonable with adequate portion sizes. If you are looking for a good place to have a business lunch in Metairie this is your place.

Definitely a nice place to take a date or just have a realllly nice meal. I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed when I got my food. The ribs were on point but the chicken seemed a little under done. THe corn grits were good butthe cabbage and black eyed peas were underseasoned. Maybe I should just stick with the ribs the next time?

I was a bit disappointed, frankly. Entree, shrimp pasta something, was ok, salad was quite tasty, and appetizer was good. But no bread, no water, just seemed to be cutting corners. And on a weekend with mass tourist influx for football. Inexplicable.

The Taste Buds just do stuff well..Zea's is their best effort.. I've eaten there for years and flirted with giving them 5 stars because of how good this is relative to its low price point. I took a friend there once and she got the Thai Ribs and raved about them still to this day..I know she went back many times after that for those. The Duck Empandas are tasty with that Creole Honey Mustard dipping sauce they come with. All of the Roisserie meats are rather solid..I like the beef in the burgundy sauce. I also like the prime rib which doesnt get done every day. I have had quite a few things which I can't recall of the top of my head but I have never had anything that was even mediocre. The Staff is skilled and friendly. I think one of Zea's greatest strengths are their sides...I personally have always liked their snap beans..but the crown jewel is of course..the corn grits..which I have since learned how to mimic at home.. Once I learned that they were loaded with whipping cream I finally understood..but if you have never had these and you remotely like grits..you MUST MUST MUST drive there now and get some..because they are just that good. Ahh yes..another one of my former frequent eating spots that has fallen victim to the lint in my pocket syndome...who knows..with where this economy is headed..that lint might be worth more than the money that is not in it.

The mother and I decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat after she picked me up from the airport, and we had a good ole time.. The waitress was very pleasant and enthusiastic and prompt with refills. I recommend the Mediterranean hummus for an app! It has everything you could possibly want on top of those chick peas. YUM to say the least. We continued our dining experience with the panini with mushrooms. Excellent, I say, simply marvelous! HIT THE SPOT!!!! Price is affordable, you could get by under 35 for two people if ya absolutely had to, but hey, live decadently and splurge for some premeal food!

Ok, so I like Zea. I've been here plenty of times, it's always consistent. The wagu burger is a winner. Service is occasionally spotty to the tune of "You might want to keep that fork for your next plate sir." not a huge deal for me given the mean age of the waitstaff is 17. On another note the Category 5 Pale Ale is wicked good.

Zea's is a consistently great place to grab a meal. Their ribs and corn grits are amazing. Burgers are very good as well. I would advise staying away from the duck menu items as they are always greasy and flavorless. Steak is consistently over cooked, tough and overpriced. In general, Zea's is a little overpriced, but one of the very few restaurants that offers a very good meal consistently.

Zea's has the best rotisserie chicken i ever tried. Their meats are consistent but side items are not.. you will love some side items then next time you go you will hate them. Over all i never had a bad experience here.

The original venue is actually at the intersection of Citrus Blvd and Dock Street near the cinema in Harahan. I have to point out that their panini sandwhiches are divine. Being particularly critical of places that claim to have 'cheesesteaks' in any way shape or form, this version of the sandwhich from my hometown is delectable. I found myself remembering my upbringing even when there was nothing kaiser about the bread and the cheese was not wizzed or provolone! Somehow, it does the trick. Kudos. Besides this, much of the rest of the menu that I have tried is scrumptuous and inexpensive. Do not miss their cheesy corn grits. I have always found that since the original venue opened in Harahan, the people and the service here are special. I always feel at home and the staff are quite informative. The ambience was a bit crowded in Harahan, but the Veterans Ave venue was built to handle the inevitable success!

Lunch seems decent for your budget and the tummy! Spinach and artichoke dip was fantastic and beautiful...c'mon when have you ever seen spinach dip lookin arty??? Had the sweet and spicy half rotisserie chicken....its just roasted chicken w/ sweet Thai chili sauce....and it was doubled on the sweet side!!!! If I had known they slapped that stuff on, I would've gotten ribs! Had the corn and buttery grits....that was okay. Seemed the butter tasted old...as in I can taste distinction of butter set out WAY too long and mixed in WAY too late. All that for about $10.00 Zea tries to hard to push like Semolina's with an international style of BBQ...but it's best to keep it within THIS continent instead. Place was packed, slow but somewhat attentive service, but I will probably be back on a weekday lunch date....

Great food for a reasonable price. The spinach and artichoke dip is amazing..... has feta cheese crumbled on top! Had the half rack of ribs with the dry rub and a side of both sauces. the ribs were tender and juicy. Not the best I have ever had but pretty darn good. For a side I had corn grits and sugar snap peas. The sugar snap peas (which I am addicted to!!) were nice to see on the menu. They werent over cooked, but cooked too much for my liking. The corn grits were pretty good... a little dry, but tasty nonetheless. The atmosphere was nice, ambient lighting was perfect. Something I really liked was the layout. The dining area was divided into sections, so you didnt feel like you were in a room filled with tables and booths. The sections had maybe 6 4-top tables, not crowded at all. This made the room feel quiet and cozy. A great idea.

The food was okay and rather expensive. I got a dry vegetable panini. No the bomb... One thing that was the bomb, was the strawberry cheesecake. It was absolutely phenomenal.

We came here last April with my family. My nephews' mom said the place was pretty good so we wanted to check it out. Everyone loved the food. We started off with the shrimp which was really yummy. I got the ahi tuna salad which was so good but I did try the chicken which was so good....tender, moist & flavorful and the grits were so good. The thing that topped off this meal was their sweet potatoe bread pudding....OMG to die for.

OH MY GOD! I can't even sit on this one for a few days. I just got back from Zea's on Vets and WOW...to be graphic..my panties are wet. That was the sh*t. My boyfriend and I were seated immediately and started off with the Asian Almond Shrimp ($9.95). Served very hot, and it was a nice tangy spicy sauce served with battered and fried shrimp. Soooo good. I wish I would have ordered the 12 piece instead of the 6, $7 more. I couldn't decide what to order, because I wanted everything. So my boyfriend and I made a compromise and I ordered the Twice Cooked Crisped Duck ($19.95) served with two side which I chose the roasted corn grits and buttered sweet potatoes and my boyfriend chose the Mixed Rotisserie and Grill, which included 1/2 rack of ribs (Thai), 1/2 a chicken (yes HALF)(Sweet & Spicy), and a 1/4 meat of the day which was Veal in an au jus sauce ($24.95), served with two sides. It came out really quick and just taking a look at it I knew it was all going to be good. I took one bite of the duck, and holy crap, I though I'd died and gone to heaven. It was that good. And served with extra sauce and over crunchy noodles perhaps. AHHHHH. The corn grits were fantastic as were the sweet potatoes. The chicken was fantastic and so juicy. The ribs had a good flavor but were a just a wee overcooked, still good though. And I'm not a big fan of veal but tried just a bit, the sauce was great and so was the meat. We topped it off with Classic Cheesecake served with Caramel sauce and whipped cream ($6.95). Big props for our waiter Clarence, he was the bomb. Kept bringing drinks before the ones we were drinking were even close to being finished, and was just really on top of everything. Will definately be back.

This is my favorite Zea in the country solely for the corn grits. I'm drooling right now just thinking about them! The Asian Almond Shrimp are amazing it has a soy ginger sauce on top...beyond words. The Thai Ribs are the draw here get them as an appetizer or an entree you can't go wrong. Just don't miss the red beans and rice is it the best I've ever tasted, no, but it's damn good! I like to mix my beans and grits together, call me weird but it's a great flavor combo.

I'm a fan of Zea's and tend to visit this place at least once when I come down to visit. I've had an great experience everytime I have eaten here. My favorites are the fish dishes, however the fish portion during lunch is kinda small, but tasty and the sweet&spicy rotisserie chicken with corn grits (my personal fav). The prices are pretty decent and the service was nice. This place is definitely a must try.

What I love most about Zea's is the Corned Grits. I could eat that shit for days. Their Cheeseburger is probably one of the better in Metairie and their beer is always a nice thirst quincher. The service is hit or miss, but the one thing that bugs me the most is the god damn music. It makes me homicidal. What's with these chain restaurants playing crap music? It's New Orleans god damn it, play some Dr. John or some shit.

The service is good. The grits or great. I just wish that the menu would have some more choices on it.

I give this place 5 stars and here's why, during lunch, they serve relatively less expensive food, but it's the same as the dinner menu. And the food is consistently awesome. There's green onions on everything though. It must be Zea's garnish of choice. Hah. It really jsut 'done up' comfort food. The roasted corn grits are amazing. It's a must have everytime. The service is pretty great. If it's crowded, it may take a while to get a table for a large group. After ordering, the food doesn't take long to get there. And the cheesecake is pretty good too.

You know, it's funny but when I was watching the Saints march back into the Dome on 9/25 what do I see in the stands? Someone in a Zea shirt of all things. When I first went to Zea it was just a place that took over a Toddle House in River Ridge but the meats were excellent. Shouldn't be too big a surprise from the Semolina Taste Buds. Then they opened the brewpub at Clearview Mall. At first, I thought the place was a little disappointing. Not the food, mind you but the beer was blah. And the place was really loud. OK, it's still too loud but they got the beer to be a lot better. They did a Chai beer once that really is one of the best I've ever had at a brewpub. Too bad a lot of their other blends weren't as tasty or I'd have gone more often. Still the food? Some of the best you'll get in the city for sure.

I have to hand it to them, this joint has been consitently satisfying since it opened several years back. The food is quality (and usually more than you can fit in your belly). The microbrews are the best, and they're brewed right there in the restaurant. It just doesn't get any fresher than that; may I suggest the Category 5. Do yourself a favor: order the cheese grits as one of your sides, you won't regret it. There is usually a minimal wait to get seated, but it's well worth it. I heartily recommend this restaurant for your run-of-the-mill-do-you-want-to-go-out-to-eat-tonight,-honey? kind of place. Oh, drink special on Saturday nights: order a regular mircrobrew beer for the regular price, and they bring you a gargantuan aquarium sized glass - thumbs way up on this one!
