*** I'll preface this with a genuine discontent for previous posts that make no sense (Who does not drink beer, goes to a place called World Of Beer, and continues to leave a 2-star review?!)... Regardless, food is outstanding for a bar, restaurant quality stuff, far better than many options in Metairie. The selection of beer is the best in the city, BAR NONE! And, they want to teach you about the beer you are drinking. Time and again I hear horror stories of places in NOLA turning their nose up at customers because they're a novice beer drinker, NOT THIS PLACE! Anyway, if you're looking for good beer, great service, and outstanding food in Metairie... GO HERE!

I met a couple of friends here on a Saturday evening. Giving full disclosure, we had attempted this gathering opening night, but it was far too crowded for me. It did get a bit crowded last night, and they did have live music and dancing. The service is prompt and friendly. There is a WIDE variety of beer and draft ciders. Smoking is allowed on the outdoor patio. I had the hard draft cider, which was very good. The German pretzel with the house-made beer cheese was a favorite of my friends and I. The marguerite flatbread was awesome, as was the macaroni and cheese (with bacon and breadcrumbs on top). I look forward to coming back!

Our server was Will very knowledgable and helpful. This place has a nice concept with beers from all over the world. One time I was able to get Banks Beers from Barbados which I never had in the U.S. This place is a must try!
I've only been here once. It was last night to watch the LSU vs Miss State game. In the long list of random bars/restaurants I've been once or twice to watch a game this place comes in at the top of the list. The place was full but not packed, some of our friends got there early to ensure that we got a table. You can sit inside or outside. I'm not a beer drinker, but I love me some cider. They had a cider that is mixed with a raspberry liqueur that was delicious. The cider was 6 dollars and came in a big glass. I've been on a gluten free kick, so I was happy to see that they had about 3 items on the menu that said gluten free next to them. My boyfriend ended up ordering the tavern tots which were good and exactly what you would expect. I ordered the 6 dollar GF wedge salad which was also pretty good. Some of our friends ordered the black and bleu flatbread. I had a bite, and it was delicious! They also ordered the chicken wings which looked awesome as well. The environment was nice, service was fine, and I would say it's a great place to watch a game. The location is also pretty close to my house - score!

I'm going to start off with a really basic assessment: World of Beer is great for those of you who live in Metairie, want some decent beer and maybe have yet to discover Lager's. Maybe I went at the wrong time. I went on a Saturday night and there was the usual crowd of people in there who were looking for a party. My friend and I sat at the bar and looked over the menu. Nothing really jumped out at me and everything you can find here you can find at Avenue Pub. The vibe here is just weird. It's a beer bar and we were sitting at the bar and the bartender was non stop with making mixed drinks. Who comes to a beer bar and gets mixed drinks? And then there was a singer there that just felt unnecessary, out of place and odd. If you want food they have such faire as the "beer pretzel". God only knows what that is. I'm sure it's a pretzel with a beer sauce or something. There are way better places for beer all over the city. I won't be returning to WoB.

What more can one say -world of beer sitting on the deck on a Wednesday evening -lovely evening quiet on a Wednesday. My husband loves this place I am having a lovely peach sangria -food is good for a bar and the wait staff is good and attentive but not in your face. Hard to find door if you have never been here.

I went here with my boyfriend last week and it was a special experience. I was a regular patron of Evanston's World of Beer when attended school at Northwestern. It was this business that even got me into beer. Before that, I had no knowledge. Now, I'll go for a craft beer a lot of times before going for anything else. I loved seeing how this World of Beer location was similar to what I had experienced but had New Orleans local flair added in. Fried pickles, the southern staple, was on the menu. There were many local Louisiana brews. I had a Canadian wheat that I loved. I found it special that the decor and atmosphere of WOB must stay consistent across it's different franchises but the menu is all locally drawn. Can't wait to go again!

I've been to a few World of Beers in Florida which were great so I was excited to hear one was opening in New Orleans. I have no idea why they picked this location, and decided to have it upstairs. The place feels small, and is dark and quite. Not the WoB atmosphere I'm used to. The beer menu was decent. Not as much draft as other locations and definitely more than most places in NOLA. The beer menu on an Ipad is innovative but not very practical. Most locals would probably rate this place low simply because it's not a local beer establishment. Folks who actually know beer will come here and appreciate good beers, draft and in bottles. Oh, and unlike some WoBs, this place has a food! I'll be back!

Very slow service, every beer i picked out, waiter came back 10 mins later to tell me they were out of the beer, happend 3 times during my trip. Very expensive, me and my wife had 4 beers each and came out with a $150 bill. Don't waste your time and just go to lagers its the same thing but cheaper.

At first sight this place is impressive. Lots of beer. I have been here 3 times and have decided this place isn't for me. The environment in here is pretty terrible. Very bright and commercial. Their balcony has a view of Raising Canes. The food is pretty good. Nothing to complain about there. I also find that the draft beer isn't as cold as it should be. If a friend asked me to go back I would return, but Lagers or Bulldog would be my choice.

I would give the ambiance and service between a 3.5 and 4 for Metairie. This is a generic chain with generic food and a fantastic craft beer selection at expensive prices. I ate at the bar for lunch and they bring you an I-Pad to view their drink menu. They have certainly built a very nice upstairs space for a generic bar chain but the food really did not impress and you can get a much better burger downstairs at Mooyah for far cheaper. Following the trend in New Yorkification of many new places opening with inflated prices I didn't see any beer for under $5 and charging $5 for Abita Amber in Metairie is particularly gouging as most places in the area such beer can be had for around $3. For their signature Chimay burger at $12 and $3 for Abita Amber Root Beer (as they don't have iced tea) my lunch bill came out to $16.31 before tip and I wasn't left with happy post burger feelings as it just was one of the least delicious burgers I've had in awhile and I think Wendy's would've made me happier. This business model might make sense in the French Quarter but it just doesn't seem to fit the area it's in. Overall if you're looking for a large craft beer selection in a nice modern pub atmosphere with mediocre food and attentive service this place will be one of your best choices in the area but you will pay a premium for it. For my money I would much rather go to local dives with much better food and a decent selection of craft beer at lower prices with more authentic local color. This is a great place for those generic chain loving tourists and out of town guests who don't like NOLA culture and food to be left (and all non-Saints fans). Unless the food improves and the price of beer drops by at least $1 (American) I don't see much reason to return unless they have a beer I can't find anywhere else I have to have.

Decent menu. Fairly priced. Short happy hour. Great siracha shrimp tacos. Waitress was extremely inattentive. We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn't very busy. I think we would have stayed longer but it took forever to get refills and she never offered water...was even hard to "flag her down" to get another beer. Odd thing was she seemed to be overly attentive to the only other table she was waiting on. Maybe she just didn't like us lol. I will give it another shot...I am excited to have a brunch spot in Metairie.

Very cool place with an awesome beer selection! The digital menu is awesome because it actually gives descriptions of the beer , which not many places do! They also have specific glasses for each beer type, another thing most places don't do. The service seemed to be pretty good, although a little slow at times. This could be due to the fact that they were a little busy. If you don't drink beers, the bartenders make very good cocktails. There are also beer infused cocktails. My wife had an IPA infused margarita which was awesome!! We also had some "mini Guinness" shots which were great! As far as food goes, we had the giant pretzel on a meat hook , which was awesome!! We got it with mustard and a beer cheese dipping sauce ( sauce was good, but it was a few extra dollars. Not crazy about the up charge, but nevertheless it was damn good! We also had fried pickles , which were delicious! Pros: 1. Great beer selection 2. Bar food is better than most bars in the area 3. Servers are pretty good. 4. Good live music 5. Beer descriptions on an electronic tablet was very cool. Cons. 1. Although service is good, it was a bit slow at times. 2. Some items are a bit pricey, and didn't see any advertisement for any specials which most bars do.

Really bad experience tonight. It took Twenty minutes before we were greeted by a server after sitting, even with two trips to he bar to let them know we had no service. We then got our wings before our appetizers. Our beers came out one by one. One entree and one appetizer still hadn't arrived forty minutes after ordering them and we ended up canceling them. My only beer sat empty for 15 minutes. I asked for a water that was never refilled. In fact my waitress took my water and never brought a new one. During the middle of our meal there weren't napkins on the table for twenty minutes.... It actually became kind of comical. Maybe a bad night for them, but literally the worst service I have ever had...

So we went here last night. First time here. It's a kind of new establishment. It's a nice place. Kinda small but new and nice. The have like all kinds of beer unfortunately I don't drink beer I was dragged here by friends I was with. So needless to say if you order anything other than beer be prepared to pay double for it! They had live music but no dance floor. There is nothing to do here. It's just a place to chill. They have tables and chairs and a small sofa couch but who wants to go out to just "sit" and drink. We ordered food from the bar it was exceptionally good for bar food! This is maybe a good place for a meeting. If you want to dance or play darts or even move around a little go someplace else. No really go somewhere else!

They have done a really good job with the decor in this place making it feel warm, inviting and earthy.. It's not your typical sports bar, manic setting. If you are into craft beers this place is probably very appealing. It's all about beer hence the name and even the food is beer themed and beer flavored. So if you like everything beer even your onion rings and salad dressing beer flavored, this place is for you. Unfortunately I didn't come for the beer, I came for the food and was left unimpressed. As a bar this would get higher ratings then it will as a restaurant. The wait staff was attentive but in my opinion a little too aggressive and pushy. They insisted on running a credit card even though I said I would pay cash and wasn't drinking any alcohol. Ultimately with world of beers, Jefferson Parish gets another unhealthy eating establishment in the area. I don't know why they don't create more healthy and wholesome places which seem to be much more crowded than these bar and burger joints that pop up everywhere.

I definitely have mixed feelings about this place. I'm a big time beer drinker and LOVE trying new things! I love the many varieties of beer at this place. I also love that they give you an iPad to look up the different kinds of beer they offer along with descriptions of the beer. The problem is most of the beer I've been served there has not been very cold. A place that calls itself World Of Beer should definitely serve it's beer at a better temp. That won't stop my from going back though because of the large selection. Also the food is very tasty!

Imagine a brighter, more contemporary Lagers..... That is World of Beer. This is a new building across the street from Bobby Heberts. There is parking located all around the building and overflow is apparently allowed to park on the grass across the street. WOB is located on the second floor, the door is kind of hidden next to Mooyah. Nice bar atmosphere, long bar with lots of seats, multiple tables, some soft furniture, lots of TVs, good site lines and no smoking. They have an outdoor patio which looks nice..... I haven't been there when the weather was suitable to sit outside. As advertised, there are a lot of beer choices. There is also a full bar. Service is friendly and attentive. The bartender told me she had to go to "beer school" for two weeks to learn about beer. Seems like overkill to me, but she did know a lot more about beer than I did (I've devoted my efforts to drinking the beer). Large bar food menu, all the classics. I tried the turkey club sandwich (with a side)which was decent - plenty of food. I happened to be sitting at the bar where I could see the food coming out of the kitchern. Everything looked pretty good. Pricing is competitive. Good place to watch a game. I will be back.

Walked in around 12:30 and there was only 7 other customers. Some at the bar, some at a table. Nobody acknowledged me and my friend. Workers were on their phone and one guy was playing on his laptop, the bartender smiled at us and that's about it. We left after being practically invisible to the staff.

World Of Beer in Metairie opened last night. As it was also a Monday Night Football Saints game, a friend and I decided to check it out after a less than pleasant experience at Buffalo Wild Wings up the street. Parking was easy, although it didn't seem as if all the parking spots were clearly defined with stripes. You walk into a stairwell/elevator area on the ground floor and go up 2 flights of stairs to the bar. Nice long bar space with purse hooks AND electric outlets. Need to charge your phone? No problem at WOB. Being opening night, they were packed. The bar was full, the tables were full, the patio was full! For a minute, I considered leaving. My friend and I walked down to the end of the bar and perused the iPad menu of beers. The interactive menu allows you to pick country, ABV %, type, color, etc., etc. It is really cool. You want to know all the New Zealand and Australian brews they have? No problem. You want to know what beers have the highest alcohol content so you can get drunker faster? The menu will show you that too. Eventually, I walked back over to the main bar, and the beer gods smiled upon me with 2 bar stools. Got the bartender to get me a cider and my friend from the other end of the bar. All the bartenders were very nice and helpful. And not as corporate as one would expect from a chain restaurant/bar. One of the bar backs had a lot of visible tattoos and large ear gauges. I didn't get to eat any of the food, but everything looked and smelled amazing. I will definitely be returning soon to try some of the food offerings and will update. Lots of HDTVs with excellent vantage points. Good sound quality for the game. Overall, a very cool spot for Metairie.

Not bad. Lots of beers to choose from. If you're a beer novice go with someone that can guide you through them. Our server seemed distracted and rushed. We did join loyalty club. Food wasn't bad either. We'll go back.

We went to World of Beer with high expectations, because my husband LOVES beer! We were excited to try all different beers from around the world, only to be disappointed. The atmosphere was nice, and we sat outside on the patio which was really cool! Our waitress was nice and knew a lot about the menu, which was helpful. However, the food is really overpriced. We ordered a giant pretzel which actually was really good, but pretty expensive for just a pretzel. Also, we order 10 wings and only got 9. When we told the waitress, she kind of acted like we were making a big deal telling her we only had 9. We didn't want another one, because they weren't very good. Lastly, and most importantly, probably 6 different beers that my husband ordered they were out of! They even gave us an updated beer list, and they were still out of almost everyone he tried to order. If you're going to call your restaurant "world of beer" you should probably have the beers you say you do. I would rather go to Lagers honestly.

I've gone three times. Had HORRIBLE service every time. The second time me and wife went and never had a server come to the table. We got up and got our own Menus and watched as server after serve walked past us. When a server does acknowledge you they take over ten minutes to get you another beer. The food is not the best and overpriced. The beer selection is large but fails in comparison to Lagers' selection. Few of their beers are less than $10 a beer so your tab racks up quick. I usually like most beers but it was difficult to find a GOOD beer. After three failed attempts I will not be returning to world of beer and strongly advise anyone from wasting your time there. The last time I went I met up with two friends. I didn't tell them of my bad experience but instead let them see for themselves. We got the check after the appetizer came because we had waited twenty minutes for our second round of drinks. There were only three other tables occupied in the place and staff just hanging around talking. We went to twin peaks after where we at least got good service.

Nice sports bar. Great quality food! Friendly service. Patio is lovely with 8 flat screens placed high on wall. 21 flatscreens inside. Long bar leaves plenty of room for sitting and getting bartender's attention on busy nights. Clean and modern bathrooms. Located on second floor next to Mooyah's. There is an elevator. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was for the seating. All the tables were high with barstool seating and the seats on the patio were hard. There are comfy looking couches and chairs, but none with tables. It was more for lounging or hanging out with a beer and buddies.

Great beer options and very knowledgable staff. Definitely my bar of choice for a night out. They keep enough events going on in the evenings to always have new ways to bring you in. Rotating beer choices make it easy to try many different options. The phone app and iPads help make picking a beer much easier with the plethora of options. Best of all...CLEAN BAR!!

First of all- the beer selection is great. It really is. Prices are a little high than some other beer bars in the city, but average cost of a draft beer is 5-7 bucks which really isn't bad for craft beers. That being said, it's a corporate restaurant. It has flip books of pictures of its food (which is sub-par, think Buffalo Wild Wings quality). We had their wings (Parmesan garlic and buffalo) which came out overdone and dry, lacking flavor. We got extra sides of the sauces, which turns out, are thin and oily. The Parmesan garlic is just like melted butter with some Parmesan thrown on them. Also, the ranch and blue cheese dressing is terrible- just from the jar with that thick white (how do they achieve that color) consistency. The bavarian pretzel was good and oversized, but the cheese sauce came out clumpy and probably needed to be heated up just a tad more. But once again, what do you expect from a corporate place? Probably won't go back unless a brewery does a special release there. It's in the burbs, and might be your place to go if you like places like Applebee's and Chili's but with a more advanced beer menu. Three star rating is for the beer, if their beer menu wasn't what it is, atmosphere and food would lead me to a 1-star rating.

This place is okay. Honestly though, I don't even like or drink beer. But hey, I can still come here for the food! So, before you read any further, just a warning that I am only reviewing based on food and not beer. Anyways, I had seen pictures of the food here on yelp and it just looked amazing so I had to try it. Funny thing was, the company I took with me didn't drink either. The waitress was probably thinking in her head, "Why are they even here" lol. Anyways, service though, was very nice-bartender--who was very excited to tell us about a new beer...to which we just "ooh" and "ahh"ed and nodded our heads smiling-and the waitress we had. For appetizers we ordered the pretzel with beer cheese and chipotle porter wings. The pretzel was big and pretty good--nothing too special (a tad too salty though). Getting it with the beer cheese cost an extra 2.50, but it was a good dipping sauce...and better than the sauce it would have originally came with. The wings were not that good. Maybe it was the flavor that we got? I usually like anything chipotle, but I don't even know what that tasted like. My 2 friends got 2 diff chicken sandwiches. They said it was bland, to which I agree and I got the Chimay burger. Nothing spectacular. No veggies in the burger which I didn't even realize before I ordered but it was alright. Overall, probably wouldn't come back. But maybe for my fiancé to try, cause he loves beer.

This place sucks, the worst service I can remember. Just go to hooters, at least your waitress will look and smell better.

Great Clean atmosphere. Beer....say no more. If can't find a beer here....YOU DON'T LIKE BEER. Apps are very tasty. The Golden Ale Shrimp are awesome. Wings are on point service is great.

This place is great if you want to try different types of beer. Other than the pretzel and wedge salad the food is just ok. Good for late night.
