I'm not much of a pizza eater, but my wife loves pizza. As a result, I'm always trying new pizza spots in the hopes that I will find one I like as well. It's worked out because I've discovered Fat Mollies, Pizza Delicious, Midway and Ancora, which are all great pizza places that I don't mind eating at. We came to That's Amore after hearing about the ridiculous deep dish pies. I was looking forward to a pizza so ridiculous that I couldn't take a bite without smearing toppings all over my face. I was not disappointed. The dish is so deep that you might find Nemo, ya'll feel me? We enjoyed the hell out of that pie. Then we got the check. The pizza alone was $38. We didn't have a crazy pizza or anything. It was just pepperoni, sausage, onion, peppers and olives. No truffles, no saffron, no caviar. Just a simple $38 pie. That's too much for pizza, even if it is a gluttonous monster of a pizza. Other than the price I would recommend this place for a tasty pizza, but for the money I'd rather go elsewhere to get a pizza AND some beer.

That's Amore has been on my list of places to try since seeing a segment about them on WGNO and then checking out the reviews on Yelp. I went on a week night and they were not crowded at all. Got our pick of tables and settled in. Soon after we sat down another table received their deep dish pizza and it looked amazing. But, we had NY style on the brain, so that's what we ordered, along with a fried ravioli appetizer. The service was great. Everything was very quick and our waitress was incredibly friendly and very helpful. Two stars for service alone. But, we came for food, not service, and were sorely disappointed. The ravioli appetizer was the same stuff you get in the freezer section at any grocery store. Very disappointing. Then came the pizza. We got one of the medium sizes (I don't remember how many inches) and was big-- more than enough for dinner plus leftovers for lunch, which was the goal. But size was the only thing it had going for it. The crust was crispy, not the foldable NY style crust I was hoping for. Which would have been ok except it was also very bland. Often, the right toppings can make up for a medicore crust but that was not the case at That's Amore. We got a meatlovers, which the menu said came with meatballs. There were no meatballs on this pizza. It was nothing more than tiny little rabbit pellet sized pieces of meat sparsely scattered over the pizza. Seriously, it looked like a giant Totino's pizza... except a Totino's pizza would've had more flavor. To add insult to injury, it was pretty expensive. Our bill was over $50 for an appetizer, mid-size pizza and two soft drinks. That's more expensive than Theo's, Slice, Midway or any of the more "upscale" pizza places I've visited. But there was nothing upscale about That's Amore-- not the quality of pizza and especially not the quality of the toppings. Maybe I'd be writing a very different review if we'd gotten the deep dish. However, I won't be returning to That's Amore, so I'll never know.

Excellent costumer service and delicious food! Had the supreme Chicago pizza and I would come back to eat it again! The owner works the floor and it very friendly. What other owner have you seem bussing tables?! Price is reasonable for the amount and quality of food! Great experience!

I had a coupon for this place (a groupon-ish thing), which I purchased because I have wanted to try their Chicago style pizza for quite a while. This gave me more incentive to make the drive to Metairie for pizza. I knew from the reviews that we could call ahead and order, but I figured we could just wait the 45 or so minutes while enjoying some drinks. Upon our arrival, we found the entire place to be packed. They had at least one birthday party going on, and another large family, along with a couple of other groups of people. Note that they have a REALLY small dining room. We were told it would be about a 15 min wait, which we were fine with. I decided to go ahead and order our pizza while waiting to be seated, so it had a head start. Of course, this is when we were told it would probably take close to 1.5 hours to cook. At this point, I considered switching to a NY style pie, but that isn't what I came here for. While waiting, I did have the opportunity to admire the NY pizzas that every other table seemed to be eating. They are a work of art. Completely hand-made dough (you can certainly tell from the irregular shapes), fresh ingredients, etc. When our Chicago style pizza came out, I was equally impressed. First of all, it was HUGE. We only finished half (mmm... leftovers). Their pizza sauce is amazing. The pizza was loaded up with sauce and cheese, with an appropriate amount of toppings. Delicious - and worth the wait. I highly recommend it, and will certainly return. Maybe I'll try the NY thin crust pizza at some point, but I can get that just about anywhere. As far as I know, That's Amore is the only place in the area to get a Chicago deep dish.

Great place to eat. The pizza was delicious. I ordered the 7 inch Chicago style Supreme 50 minutes ahead of time. When I got there, it was ready, hot, and delicious. In addition, the couple who own the restaurant are very nice. I highly recommend That's Amore.

My boyfriend and I are on a quest to find the perfect pizza.....found it! This was my first time having a deep dish Chicago style pizza and my mouth was like, "so THIS is pizza!!".....We had the meat lovers with onions, green bell pepper and jalapeno added and it was hot, cheesy, flavorful and just awesome. Not to mention, the owners were present and were friendly and welcoming. They introduced themselves, made small talk and made me feel like family (I did take out). Try this place! You won't be disappointed! And as always, support locally owned businesses!

We have been there quite a few times, and love it. We always get the Chicago deep dish, and it is just as good as any in Chicago. We are just over an hour away, and make special trips to eat here. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!!! A must go to place!!

The food is just awesome. We had the fried mushrooms which were delicious. The 24" pizza is truly amazing to see! We ate a total of 6 pieces of pizza & we're taking 12 pieces home with us.

First visit here. Nice decor, very friendly and attentive new owners, great service. Wide selection of appetizers, salad and pizzas. Highly recommend the fried ravioli app and supreme NY pizza. Call ahead for the deep dish Chicago pizza.

I did a Living Social deal to this place and trusted the other yelp reviews. I've never actually had a Chicago-style deep dish pizza and was excited to try it out. It was delicious! It will take the full 45 minutes and they give you a warning when you order, but it's totally worth it. When I pulled my slice out it was a melty, cheesey volcano of pizza delicousness covered in an almost pefect red sauce. I really liked their red sauce! I didn't try any of the New York style pizzas, so I can't say anything about them, but if I come back it's going to be for a Chicago pizza again. The Chicago comes in three sizes: 7 inch, a 9 x 13 rectangle, and a 14 inch. I wish instead of the 7 inch they had a size in-between, like a 10 or 12. The 14 inch is HUGE and the 7 pretty small, but it did feed two of us to ultra-fullness. If you're super hungry or want to feed a couple of people, go with the 14 inch. I also tried the fried ravioli which were filled with a good mix of ricotta and mozzarella that came with more yummy red sauce. Several other tables were ordering the calzones, which looked really good as well. For super tasty pizza, I'll probably be going back again.

That's Amore has a particularly potent novelty unlike anything else I've personally come across at pizza places in this city: Chicago deep dish pizza! Having not traveled to Chicago, I can't verify any claims to its authenticity, though I was told that the owner traveled to Chicago to learn how to make that style of pizza, and was assured that the nearest place to get a pizza like it was Florida. Regardless, I was impressed! The crust was more pie-like in consistency than I anticipated, and could accommodate all of the sauce, cheese, and toppings inside while providing a different texture to what I was accustomed to in pizzas. If any of the photos of this place make you say "WHOA!!!!!" (in a good way), I'd really recommend trying That's Amore out! The amount of sauce and crust may seem intimidating, but think of it as a lasagna in a pie crust, and you'll get the idea. Their site reminds you to "PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST 45 MINUTES FOR THE CHICAGO STYLE PIES," so calling ahead may be a good idea. VERY NICE!

We had them yesterday. We had a 14" pizza.. HUGE!!! Hands down best pizza place around Metairie!!! I like this place. Service with a smile (which is rare these days) and the amount you get cpuld probably feed you the entire day.. maybe even into the next day. I'll definitely be ordering again.

Ok, got to clarify that That's Amore is my favorite pizzeria in the area. I havent been there, though, since they moved. Went there last week on a Wednesday night. Called ahead of time to order one Chicago-style and one New York style pizza, as usual. Got there probably within 35-40 min after we called. The New York style pizza was fine but what a dissapointment - our favorite Chicago-style deep dish pizza was soggy and cold. We did not enjoy it at all. The owner did come to the table and asked how everything was. We told her about the soggy pizza and she apologized but that did not fix our dissapointment. I don't know if it was the move or they just gave us a pizza that someone else ordered and never picked up but it was not an enjoyable experience for sure.

24" pizza was very good. Tangy sauce and thin crust. Nice break from typical Nola food. Staff was friendly with kids.

I would give the service and the staff 5 stars. This place is everything the other reviewers mention as far as service, super friendly and helpful... But I wasn't here to eat service. I had a misstep in reading appetizers and thought I read that they had fried pickles... I LOVE fried pickles. We ordered fried pickles and the waiter looked at me sideways and said they don't have them, my bad it was fried potatoes! I must've had a serious subconscious desire for fried pickles. The cook overheard me and said, "I can make you fried pickles if you want." REALLY???? "sure" he said... SCORE!!! I was a little leery but open to what they were going to bring. The rest of the waitstaff asked him to make extra so they could try them also (we were the only ones in there at the time). So they came out hot, super crispy with a side of ranch but they were SUPER salty! The pizza was HUGE we ordered the 16 inch NY style supreme and it was WAY too much food for us. I don't know what I was thinking, the toppings are fresh, and they are not in the least bit stingy. They do have that awesome mozzarella that strings a trail from the pan to your plate/mouth depending on if you are patient enough to allow the slice to hit you plate. The sauce is well balanced. My gripe was that the crust was burnt, yeah it was pretty burnt and over powered the rest of the toppings and the whole pizza to a point I only ate the toppings and no crust. It really made me sad. Based on the other reviews, it sounds like the Chicago style is the way to go here I just personally don't care for a Chicago style pizza. This is a super kid friendly place though!!

Not happy. Came before and they are not getting anything right at all. 40 minutes no appetizer yet other tables are getting the same exact appetizer we ordered. Waitress is not acknowledging us at all. The, I assume, Manager came out to explain. Brought us 2 wrong pizzas. We can HEAR our waitress grumbling and saying "it takes 45 minutes"... Which we know as we have been here previously. However, it does not take long to bring appetizers nor to refill drinks. We came back because they put out a delicious product. Unfortunately bad service and awful communication has tainted this experience greatly. If the waitress would have acknowledged the mistake first instead of grumbling behind the bar to where we can hear her would have been a completely different reaction/experience. UPDATE:: The manager has rectified the situation and we understand when things are busy. Still very unprofessional to hear the gripes of the waitress and her lack of Service.

GOOD CHICAGO STYLE DEEP DISH! They also advertise NY style but I've never tried that. I have been to UNO in Chicago as well as other Chicago style places and this joint holds it own with them pretty well. True deep dish pizza with plenty of filling, nice crust and great flavor. If you're from Chicago your only complaint might be that the topping to sauce/cheese ratio isn't what you're used to. I gave it four stars because I think this place is above average. Especially for the price.

What a great experience! We were greeted by the owner and loved the open, warm atmosphere in That's Amore! The pizza was great, and my grilled shrimp Caesar Salad was delicious with Louisiana shrimp. We will definitely be back! Note: if you want a Chicago pizza it takes 45 minutes- made to order. You can call ahead and they will have it ready for you!

I used a Living Social coupon to try out That's Amore Pizzeria and they DID NOT disappoint, at all. A friend was supposed to meet me but they cancelled and I'm kind of glad they did cause that meant I got to take some food home for tomorrow. That's Amore Pizzeria isn't very big but they've got inside and outside seating. The outside seating would be perfect on a cool spring day with a date. I got the Mozzarella Sticks as an appetizer, the 10" New York style Meat Lovers and a tea to drink. First of all, I'm a MAJOR tea lover and their tea was really good. The marinara sauce that came with the Mozzarella Sticks was AMAZING. I don't know what it was but it just had a really good flavor. The New York style Meat Lovers had a nice, thin crust, lots of cheese and PLENTY of toppings. I know that everyone raves about the Chicago style but I'm a thin crust pizza kind of girl and it was spot on. As I was finishing up my meal, the owner came over and personally asked me about my experience and I told her it was my first visit but it certainly wouldn't be my last. I highly recommend giving this local spot a shot cause it's worth it.

This is the place for deep dish pizza in New Orleans......sauce is excellent and they cook the pie just right...Ive been to Chicago Many times and I love deep dish....Im glad I found this place....I was starting to worry I would not find a good place...LOL They offer a call ahead for dine in...they will start cooking your pizza before you show up...so when you get there you can sit down and eat...which is a common in pizza places in Chicago...so that is AWESOME!...and the Rat pack music in the back ground just adds to the place...Mick is the owner and a cool dude...so I would recommend this place if you are looking for some good deep dish pizza!

I checked this one out on the words of a good friend of mine. As she (usually) never lets me down on suggestions, I took a date here for lunch. Overall the meal was pretty good, aside from the side salad that my lady friend ordered (meh, who cares about a salad.). We even won tickets to the next Zephyrs game... well she won. What have not tried yet is their Deep Dish pizza, although I hear it's quite good. Perhaps when I don't have to eat with manners in front of someone, I'll go for it. Otherwise, I definitely would reccomend this place.

I registered for Yelp just to rate this place. That's how good this place is. If you are looking for the best chicago style pizza you can find in New Orleans that will knock your socks off, go here. place is small and you should order ahead. not much atmosphere, but you cant eat atmosphere.

Here it is a couple of weeks later and we are back to try the Chicago style pizza. As noted above, it takes 45 minutes to prepare. If you are so inclined, they will allow you to order ahead so you can arrive in time to eat. Or you can have a couple extra drinks while waiting for the meal.... This is a meal and a half. We ordered the larger one with the idea of stuffing ourselves and eating the rest for a snack. Good concept, not very practical. Maybe I'll be hungry by lunchtime. The pizza doesn't look that big, but it seems like it weighs 10 lbs. Despite Jon Stewart's advice (and many years of pizza eating experience), you will find yourself using a knife and fork to eat it. I challenge anyone to get that third piece down. I think I overdosed on mozzarella. Bottom line - great crust, great ingredients, unique in my experience. You will eat more than you want to.

I have had there pizza before and it is pretty good but they have one of the smallest delivery areas ever. I'm on Jeff highway 2.5 miles away and they don't go past airline I mean come on really 2.5 miles from store and can't come here. Now don't get me wrong if was way out of the way I would completely understand I delivered pizza for 10 years and 2 miles isn't going to break them. The driver should make the call sometimes is all I'm saying.

  • Kay M.

I went here after reading several reviews on Yelp and was pretty pleased. Everyone was really friendly and I love the small restaurant atmosphere. The mozzarella sticks were good, but nothing sensational. The pizza was pretty yummy. Lots of cheese and just the right amount of sauce. It also had oregano on it and the server didn't look at me like I was crazy when I asked for more oregano--- for some reason I have found that in the south pizza shops don't put oregano out for customers to use! So, all in all, one of the best pizzas I have eaten down here.

This pizza is off the chain! I have had this type of pizza once a few years back in Chicago and have since been looking for something equivalent around south Louisiana. And here you go, I found one Two of us split the 9 x 13" supreme deep dish pizza, it was made with fresh vegetables, tasty Italian sausage, pepperonis and yummy slingshot mozzarella cheese. The top sauce was loaded up and contained by a wall of crisp and chewy crust. We each had a side salad while waiting and we left with 3 pieces of pizza. Also be aware if you plan on eating deep dish that it takes 45 minutes to prepare so plan on hanging out or call and pay ahead. The staff and atmosphere were also great! I will definitely go back to this place the next time in Metairie!

This place was suggested to me by a friend who said they had great Chicago style pizza and it was amazing. Everyone there was very nice and gave it a very homey feel. I am anxious to go back and try the other dishes that were being served around me, like the Calzone.

  • Shannon S.

This place was a lot smaller than I expected but the guy working the counter was super friendly and very concerned about making sure I was happy with my food. I called ahead to eat in as it takes 45 minutes to cook the Chicago deep dish and I ordered the veggie special with meatballs added. This is the closest to Chicago Style pizza I've ever had outside of Illinois and the pizza had a fantastic crust. I got the 7 inch and could have finished it all but I would have been comatose after so I left one last piece (the counter guy said he could only eat two slices and he had never seen anybody eat the whole thing so maybe I have a future with Man vs Food one day). This pizza was just an orgy of crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings that I somehow managed to squeeze into my mouth and didn't splatter all over myself. This is a good pizza but the sheer hugeness of it makes it difficult to eat often so I usually will opt for a New York style thinner crust to maintain my dead sexy figure and keep my beer gut to manageable Buddha belly proportions.

Nice little pizzeria in Metairie. Wanted to try the Chicago Deep Dish based on the other reviews, but didn't have the extra 45 minutes to wait. Had the meatball calzone instead. It didn't disappoint! Portion was large as I was able to make two meals out of it. Crust was a little crispy for my taste, and but I think it has more to do with the oven used. The staff was extremely helpful and the owner checked on us several times to make sure everything was good! Will definitely be back!! Hopefully with more time to try the Chicago!!!

I've passed this place many times and wanted to try it for so long, but I was waiting for someone to review it before I took the plunge. I was totally impressed with this place from start to finish. The atmosphere is good. It is a very small place with only about 10 tables and a small bar. Service was extremely friendly and the owners and very much involved (going around and talking to people at different tables). They could use better chairs. The pizza was awesome!!!! All of the ingredients tasted very fresh and the Chicago deep dish was cooked to perfection. They're mozzarella was very good and there was plenty of it on there. However, if you are crunched for time ( which we weren't) and you want the deep dish pizza, call and order ahead of arriving. This pizza takes a while to cook but it is worth the wait. You can also try their New York style pizza if you are in a hurry. I will definitely continue to go to this place as it ranks very high on my list of favorite pizza places in the NOLA area.

  • Adolfo A.

You know, not many people know about this place. I'm from Chicago and this food really makes me feel at home! Their pizza is the best I've had in this state. The ambiance is very lacking ( tacky table covers, dean martin music..), but the food more than makes up for it. The owner is very friendly and came to our table. You really should give this place a try.

    (5)
  • Jeffrey S.

The ONLY Pizza joint in the entire metro NOLA area to serve authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza. This is a very small nondescript suburban pizza joint that you never heard of and tries a bit hard with pictures of Italians like Capone and cheesy piped in music of Dean Martin, but just ignore all that and enjoy the food.

  • Rick E.

This is by far the best Chicago style pizza outside of Chicago. I'm from Chicago and this pie ranks with the best. Service is awesome. The owner and staff are wonderful. The owner greets everyone, the place is clean and friendly. It takes 45 minutes to bake but it is worth every minute! You can't go wrong.

  • Tim B.

5 stars for service. The staff were great and the owner gave us an extra Caesar salad to keep us busy while we waited for the pizza. Now to the pizza. We ordered the deep dish Chicago style supreme pizza. It was okay. Not as amazing as it looked. The crust was a little to hard. Maybe overlooked. The inside was delicious but not as hot as it could have been. I thought the inside would be a little more melted and gooey. Maybe it normally is but I felt mine could have been hotter. Had a great time and will give it another go sometime soon.f

By far the best pizza I have had. It's the first time I had the deep dish meat lovers pizza and it was amazing. The appetizers were great as well. It's owner ran and they are super friendly. Enjoy!

I am not a 5 star person often but when a place deserves it they get it. I have to say the best Chicago (deep) pizzas in New Orleans. It takes 45 minutes to prepare, so don't come expecting a quick night. While waiting had chance to try fried ravioli, mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms and artichoke/spinach dip and all were exceptional. Ok there were 6 of us...I did not eat all myself. Last, the beer...ice cold mugs, 18oz and cheap. I am a fan of ice cold mugs now because of this. You will have a great time, staff and owners are friendly and check on you often to make sure all is well.

I gave a 4, but I'm really thinking it's more like a 3.5. When I came a little over a year ago my sister, friend, and I ordered the pizza beignets and a small new york style pizza to share. Since the pizza was so small it wasn't the long slices that you see in all of the pictures. Understandable. The pizza tasted fine but was nothing special. My sister complained that her piece was burnt. I wasnt rushing to come back here, but I did a few days ago due to getting one of those living social deals as a gift. I'm trying to diet so I was hoping my boyfriend and I could just order a salad and that he could get a small new york style pizza and I wouldn't be tempted. Well, the oven for the NY pizzas was broken, so my bf decided to order the small Chicago pizza. I knew I would have to have a piece of that! The Italian salad we ordered was good. We had to wait awhile for the pizza which was fine. The small sized Chicago pizza consists of 4 slices. The pizza was delicious! I thought it was quite pricy though, it was either $16 or $17. The service was fine though a bit awkward, but the manager is very nice. I would go back here for the Chicago pizza especially if I had another $20 for $10 deal.

This place is AMAZING we had the flat bread and artichoke dip and the taste was so home made and delicious. The Deep dish pizza OMG bomb dot com:). Staff is super friendly and they so attentive. We are staying downtime but it was worth taking Uber drive. Only 15 min from the French Quarter.

I normally don't do reviews but this place is a must. Hands down to the best pizza joint in town. I had visit a bunch of pizza joints over the years but I definitely recommend this joint to everyone. You guys know how I love my pizza, EXTRA CHEESY. You guys won't be disappointed, I promise.

We got the deep dish supreme pizza tonight for the first time. It tasted incredible!! And it was incredibly HUGE! We got a 13x9 for 2 people, but we sure are glad we have left overs. The restaurant is super cute. I was able to meet the owner who was very personable. You can tell he really appreciates every customer that walks through his doors. Will definitely be back.

I stopped by on my way to the airport and wasn't disappointed. We got the NYC thin crust BBQ chicken cooked in a stone oven and it was fabulous. There could have been a little more chicken, but the crust was great. We also got the Chicago Deep Dish Supreme, I was not as impressed with the deep dish as the thin crust. The cookies are very reasonable and worth the short wait and were amazing. The owner stopped by the table to see if everything was OK, which shows the commitment to the customer, we learned his daughter was the waitress. She did a great job, especially with several tables and a large group.

I remember what a Chicago-style pizza is like. This pizza from "That's Amore" was EXACTLY as I remember it: thin and crunchy crust on the bottom; a delicious, thick layer of cheese; and incredibly fresh ingredients topped by a rich and not-too-tangy marinara. The whole thing was more than an inch thick! The owner came to our table to talk, which is typically New Orleans, and we had a great conversation about his place. Don't expect to pay Papa John's prices. You're NOT getting a Papa John's pizza. Usually, my wife & I split a large pizza at other places: she eats a third, I eat the rest. At "That's Amore, we BARELY got through HALF of the 14-inch! We took home enough for another meal! With a soft drink and a beer, plus tax and tip, final cost was $52. And it was worth every penny. The only slight negative was the service. It was late afternoon, so it wasn't staffed as heavily. Our waitress forgot to do the basics: utensils, refills, getting a beer, but that was SO minor compared to the warm reception give us by the owner & his wife. Would I go back? In a heartbeat. We can't wait to try his New York style!

A*++ That's love! Hands down my fave pizza place. The deep dish takes 50 minutes to cook but it is comparable to Chicago pizza style. Under new management now. They are trying to put the Customer first. Pleasure meeting the owner. If I can't get to Chicago til June, this is just as good!! Xoxo

Had the supreme deep dish pizza. Def an experience. Very good overall. But I think I would have preferred more sauce and that it was a tad thinner, maybe not as sweet also. But, that being said, Def worth experiencing at least once.

That's amore is definitely our pizza place!! Everything we've tried has been fantastic! And every time we come in the staff is friendly, they take time to actually talk to you! The pizza crust has a lot of good flavor. We love the spinach artichoke dip with flat bread. Good food good service doesn't get much better!!

Had confusion in regards to ordering and toppings. I ended up saying never mind and ended phone call. Owner called me back to clarify if I still wanted to order. Gave me specially price since I was ordering regular 20" with 5 different toppings. What can I say? Awesome damn service. And their pizzas are glorious.

The pizza is good. The ingredients feel fresh. The crust is tasty, although a bit greasy. That's all about the food. Now, I would give this place a better rating if the customer service was better. It was a Saturday night when we arrived. My girlfriend had checked the place in Yelp so we were very motivated to give it a try. They were busy and the "staff" members had no distinct attire from a regular patron. So we walked in and looked around for a host stand or any sort of signage that would instruct us wether to sit by ourselves or to wait to be seated, as that is the rule nowadays in many restaurants. So my girlfriend and her son spotted a table a since there was no one else "waiting" they when ahead and sat down while I was talking to a lady who seemed to be some sort of wait staff. So she said that it was ok for us to sit at the table we had chosen previously. We waited 5min before we had our drink order taken. We had to tell three different people that our table needed to be wiped. The service was slow. The staff looked unorganized, lost. They were running like chickens without head. We order a pizza and medium Caesar Salad. It took close to thirty minutes for us to get the salad only after we had to remind the same server who took out order to bring it. It seemed that they forgot to make our pizza. The salad came, finally, followed immediately by our pizza. We order sweet tea. We requested a refill. We got unsweetened tea. At this point I had given up on the waitress. I was going to tell them that we needed sweetened tea. My girlfriend persuaded me to not say anything. I need to say that my dining experience was way below average. Would I go back and give them another chance? Probably yes. I'm hoping they can figure out a system that would make their customer experience match the good quality of their food.

This is a local business that I really hope people will notice and support! Why? They offer something unique here in New Orleans - Chicago-style pizza, and it is Chicago-style pizza worthy of Chicago-natives (Black Hawks t-shirt and Cubs baseball hat spotted on fellow diners!!). The Chicago-style pizza is that good folks. Delicious. We got the supreme - the toppings, cheese, and crust were nicely proportioned. This is key with pizza - no? Too much crust blah. Too much sauce, no. Weighed down by toppings - sloppy. Too much cheese, stomach ache for days. None of that is going on here! Restaurant is clean. Service is friendly. And yes they do play Dean Martin's "That's Amore".

Our family loves this place. New York or Chicago style? It doesn't matter because they do both and do them great. I am a BIG fan of their deep dish.

  • Jamie B.

The deep dish pizza has like 4lbs of cheese! I love it! Be patient bc it takes 45 min to arrive but worth it. They have beer and wine. Great Metairie gem!

My first encounter with That's Amore Pizzeria was when I promised my family we could get take out from there one particular afternoon. Circumstance forced me into having somebody other than myself pick up the order and I did not leave my credit card with them. When I called to explain the situation the owner promised to all possible to make sure we work this out seemlessly and my family would not miss a beat and enjoy their lunch. Well he delivered. I was able to settle the bill over the phone within the credit card and restaurant regulations and the Meat Lovers Pizza was an absolute home run. The second time I experienced the Pizzeria was an in-house experience. The restaurant was clean, the wait staff were knowledgeable and attentive but not over bearing and the food was presented in a timely manner, great presentation and everything was HOT. Keep up the good work! Jeff Drouin

I have had both, the Chicago and the New York pizza, and I love them both. I've also had the fried ravioli. Yummo! Service is pretty good too.

Went there last week for dinner on a Wednesday. One of the proprietors was there and was super friendly as was the wait staff. Had the Chicago style meat pizza which was excellent. Ordered the pizza beignets which were a truly unique experience. We were also treated to a free sampling of the fried ravioli which were also very good. Will certainly be going back.

  • Lisa M.

The superb service made this a wonderful experience. Our server was so friendly and attentive. The fried ravioli was the best we've had outside Jersey. I knew our pizza would be great once I tasted the marinara that accompanied our ravioli. The NY style pizza was slathered in cheese (yay!) and quite tasty. I would've preferred a thinner crust but ate many slices in record time. A few Chicago deep dish pies walked past our table and looked intense. If we are ever back in NOLA, we are definitely coming back for some! Highly recommended!!

  • Greg M.

Hands-down, one of the best pizzas in the NOLA area! After hearing about That's Amore and reading reviews, I knew that I'd have to find an excuse to venture into Metairie for a pie. I figured that dropping coworkers off for a 5pm flight, afforded me the opportunity. Parking was a little to tight, but I found the inside of the pizzeria, warm and inviting. I bellied up to the bar and enjoyed a cold Abita Amber and visited with the gracious owners and staff while waiting for my custom 16" NY-style pie, loaded with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onion & garlic. The toppings were all fresh and flavorful. The crust was perfect, as well. Can't wait to go back for a Chicago-style deep dish, then the Mahi Mahi, which I've heard is fantastic! If you get out of there without one of Darren's freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, shame on you!

  • Rebecca S.

Carried out the 18" New York style meat lovers, added onions and bell peppers. Delicious and huge! Cannot beat the fresh ingredients! ! Also, the owners are always personable!!!!!

  • Rachael G.

I love this place!!! Every time we come here the food is consistent and delicious. I swear, there is nowhere in NOLA where you can get a good, normal NY style slice of pizza or a savory Chicago style deep dish pizza. They have perfected both. The service is always on point and both of the owners are very involved, making sure everything runs smoothly and that everyone is more than satisfied. I give That's Amore two thumbs up

  • William L.

Located square in the heart of Metairie and next door to the popular Cafe Fresca. That's Amore is what a local pizzaria should be. The New York style pizza, in our instance a plain cheese shared by a party of two same-age diners with ten years of collective pizza experience (i.e., five year olds), disappeared quickly. This adult sampled a slice ("Girls, it's for Yelp, certainly you can understand that?") and I can attest that it's good, thin crust pizza. They also offer a deep dish Chicago style that we did not sample. Besides pizza, there are muffelettas and plate dishes served with a nice-sized iceberg lettuce salad. The lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs were served with a dark red sauce with good tomato flavor. The lasagna was notable in that it reminded me of eggplant Parmesan in both flavor and texture, even though I didn't see that offered on the menu. If you like both of those dishes, try this lasagna. The spaghetti and meatballs are served with the same sauce and hefty mass of small-bore pasta. Meatballs are homemade and delicious. The ravioli on the menu is the only item not made in house, according to the owner (who also served as our waiter). The vibe is bright, friendly, with sports presented silently on screens overhead. As seems to happen in many Metairie establishments, many of the patrons knew each other or were even related to the staff. When we were waiting for our check to be taken up, a diner at the next table stood up, stepped over, and volunteered to walk it to the cashier. She turned out to be a relative of the owner. This kind of experience is part of the charm and attraction of local joints.

Woke up thinking about deep dish pizza and found That's Amore on Yelp. Could not have been happier with the whole experience. Darren (the owner) gave us a personal run-down of the menu. We wanted to try everything but had our hearts set on the Chicago style pizza. We ordered a fried ravioli app and deep dish pizza with meatball and pepperoni. It was amazing and we left with a ton of leftovers. Also, good beer deals!

  • Robbie B.

I was truly impressed by their Chicago style pizza even to true Chicago standards! Taste like I sat down at Navy Pier wirth a piece of Geno's pie! However, the best part of the meal was the exceptional service. Darren, the owner, came out to introduce himself and he and his wife, Diane, made great suggestions since we had never been there before. This is my new favorite pizza spot!

  • Stevie H.

Love this place so much. Dara, the cutest server, is absolutely the most talented wait staff member in all of the universe. Also, he Dad is super cute. (hey, mr. Darren!) I, along with all my peeps, will most definitely be back. I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. In all seriousness, get half meat lovers, half supreme.... It's the shit.

  • Kasie M.

Wow! What a treat it was to find this place! The owner Darren is the exact definition of what a true business owner is! It was just him and his daughter servicing the entire dining room and they were fantastic! Darren personally went up to each table as people came in to introduce himself and see how everything was going. He is very personable and really cares about what his customers think about his business. We got the BBQ chicken pizza, New York style and the Supreme pizza, Chicago style. We originally came here because everyone raved about the Chicago style, but actually preferred the New York style. We also got the must have chocolate chip cookies! They were made to order; fresh and hot from the oven! What a treat! Definitely try this pizzeria if you're in the area. We are so glad we did and will come back here if we get back to the area!

We took our volleyball team here and the service was top notch. The owner and his staff treated us great. They made of us felt welcomed the entire time even though we were a large group. The food was great also. The pizzas were homemade, which you could definitely tell in the taste. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    (5)
  • Kodi W.

Darren the owner was a nice as could be, and helped us order to ensure we would enjoy our dish. We didn't have the time to wait on the Chicago-style, but having moved here from Chicago, we cannot WAIT to go back and treat ourselves, it looked amazing! We had a NY style pizza, meat lovers, and it was so good. The cheese is HIGH-QUALITY and so good! I wish the crust would have been a little less cooked, but hard to achieve without that NY water:-) We will DEFINITELY be back nd cannot wait for our next visit!!

  • Robin L.

When we first entered the restaurant we were greeted and seated very quickly. The owner personally came and greeted us. He went over the menu with us. We decided to try the pizza waffle fries and fried shrimp as an appetizer. Which was very delicious. We then had a Rock Paper Scissors game to decide if we should try the Chicago deep dish or the New York style pizza. Needless to say we went with Chicago deep dish. It took about 20 minutes for the pizza to come out. It was well worth the wait the freshness is the sauce and toppings were amazing!!! This place is a hidden gem! We loved the pizza and have become regulars.

I just moved here from Brooklyn. The New York style pizza is a fraud. I grew up in Chicago. The deep dish is a little better, but still plumbs the depths of mediocrity. However, after having tasted New Orleans pizza in a few places, this joint is probably better than most in town. For New York style, Pizza NOLA is much better.

I ordered a Chicago deep dish pizza and it wasn't good. Mostly sauce and very little meat. The deep dish pizza isn't worth $18.99 for a small personal pan pizza.

seriously delicious deep dish! super nice owners and staff. they had a ton of to go orders and our pizza took longer than expected so they brought us out fresh out the oven cookies after our meal. seriously one of the best cookies I've ever had. love this place best pizza in town will be going back !!

Don't judge a book by its cover. Outside is nothing special but inside is a treat. Super cute! Love the NY and Chicago icon pictures. Waitress is very nice. Food looks great. Fresh mushrooms for pizza. Can't wait to indulge!

Went here for the first time last night. I'm thankful I was introduced to this place! I have only experienced the pizza at Midway and thought it was authentic Chicago-style pizza. This place is the real deal! Don't get me wrong, Midway is amazing, but the pizza at That's Amore is a true pizza pie. You can see the layers of the toppings in every slice. Tons of cheese and amazing crust. I'm sold. Not to mention the service was great. Gave us time to relax and enjoy but made sure we got what we needed. The manager came out to meet us, sat with us for a bit, and talked about pizza in the city. Everyone was super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. One of new favorite hidden gems in Metairie.

The lasagna here will change your life. The owner, Daren, said the recipe was past down for years and is a family (not his) Italian recipe. It is simply outstanding.

Went there yesterday and got a Chicago deep dish pizza. It was really good, it is a ton of food. We ordered a medium and we could've really did fine with a small. It was very hot and fresh. I'd probably try the New York style next time.

Micky, thanks for the Pie! Delicious! If you want a Chicago Style deep dish without having to go, this is your place. Great guy, the owner even through in a free beer to me and my employees. Thanks.

Really cute/stylish bistro feel. Best spinach&artichoke dip Ever. Ahhmazing supreme deep dish. Flavorful and loaded with fresh filling (not a loaf-of-bread crust). Attentive service from Debbie. Out of this world complimentary cookies. Darren & Debbie (owners) were very personable, spoke to each table and learned names. Can't wait to try their wings & large screens out on game days. Grabbing my Chicago friends & coming back asap. Fave new Pizza+ spot!

I'd really give 3.5 stars, but since we can't, 3 will have to do for now. I hope to be able to give more stars on a future visit. I had read about this place on Yelp and was looking forward to trying one of their Chicago style pizzas. I read that they need 45 minutes notice to cook the pizza, so I was prepared for that. I called to place a take out order for a 7" Chicago style pizza and a shrimp poboy. I specifically told the woman I did not want any olives on the pizza. She repeated my order and it was correct. Then she told me it would be an hour. Ok...not sure what happened to the 45 minutes? I arrived at the appropriate time to pick up my take out order. The place was not crowded. I had to wait about 3-4 minutes at the bar before the girl came to assist me. She told me the order came to $35.00 for a small Chicago pizza, shrimp poboy and sweet potato fries. I gave her two twenty dollar bills. As I waited for my change, she never gave me any. Instead she was dividing up the money for herself. When I told her I gave her $40.00, she said oh you want money back?! I said yes, give me $2.00 back. I found it terribly presumptuous and rude that she would automatically keep $5.00 without giving me the option to decide. That is in very poor judgment. The meal was very costly to begin with. I generally will tip after someone has given me my food and shown me courteous service. So that really bothered me. Then I was never given a receipt. I had to ask the woman owner for my receipt. I studied it while I waited over 5 minutes for my order. On the bottom of the receipt it gave tipping suggestions to use. I guess this place really expects high tips. When I finally arrived home with our order, we opened everything up and it smelled and looked good. For near $40.00 it wasn't a whole lot of food, but it looked appealing. The shrimp poboy was done right and the way we like it. When we ate the pizza, it was good, but it did have many olives in it after I had specifically said no olives. I detest olives and they alter the flavor of the food. So, that was really disappointing to find them all over the inside of the pizza after I had paid so much for it. I would like to try their New York style pizza one of these days. I hope it will be a better experience, They use good quality products, but they do charge a lot for them. I hope they work on their tipping ideas too. Let the customer choose what they want to tip after they receive their order. Don't just pocket a large tip off of a small take out order without discussing it.

We're just visiting town and looking for a good pizza. Yelp recommended this place so we tried it. I'm glad we did, the food was great, especially the fried Ravioli appetizer. We got the 9X13 Chicago Style Meat Lovers Pizza and a personal Spinach and Artichoke pizza with white sauce. The deep dish pizza was the best I've ever had. We will come back next time we're in town.

Ordered takeout with my sister who just moved into the area. The staff was the friendliest ever. The pizza we got was delicious. I can't wait to take my deep dish lovers here one day because this seems to be the first place I've found that does it right!

Amazing Pizza!!!! Came here after it was recommended - and it's just fabulous. Their Chicago pizza will take about 45 minutes to prepare but it's well worth it - loaded with fresh mozzarella!!! The new owner Darren is such a nice guy. He took the time to introduce himself and tell us all about the menu items, but he wasn't overwhelming - sweetest guy. The staff is very friendly as well. Great family owned restaurant. It radiates of a non-duplicitous atmosphere. We will definitely come back and recommend this place.

Got the large chicago style meat lovers take out. On time, Hot, Delicious. The sauce was sweet and zesty. I like a bit more sauce. One piece each filled us! This thing will be feeding us for days!

Heaven on a plate!! Ten minutes from the airport and you're there. My family and I went there tonight. There were five of us. Two wanted deep dish, three regular. The two of us that got deep dish actually split a 7 inch pie, and believe it or not, had some left to take home. It's very filling and soooooo delicious. I highly recommend trying it. The other three were also very happy with their regular crust pizza. The sauce is slightly sweet, which I like. And the cheese is 100%real. You can totally tell. Also, the owner came to our table a couple of times just to say hello and make sure everything was ok. That was a really nice touch!! We will definitely be back soon.

Pretty good pizza and the only Chicago Style pizza I have found in New Orleans. Be aware that if you get the Chicago Style pizza, it is going to take a long time to cook. Everything else, including the thinner NY Style pizza will be ready in a normal amount of time. However the Chicago Style pizza is SO deep, it takes a really long time to cook. If you are not familiar with Chicago Style pizza, it is like an actual pie crust, filled a couple inches deep with cheese and toppings, then with a layer of sauce on top. This is New Orleans, so it obviously isn't as good as in Chicago, but a pretty good pizza alternative. Probably too rich to do every time you get pizza, but an awesome treat.

  • Molly B.

Holy Shnikeys!! This place takes the cake, literally, on amazing tasting pizza!! It's like a big fat cake of delicious pizza. If you like Chicago style pizza then it's worth the haul out to Metry. It'll be the longest 45 minutes of your life as you wait for them to bake your precious pie. The sauce is thick and flavorful, it tastes really authentic. The cheese was out of this world, all gooey and salty. The crust was just perfect. I can't wait to go back. I wish it wasn't so far away...

  • Alan G.

Not sure why there are so many stars for this place but the pizza is middle of the road. We ordered thin crust and the crust tastes and look like premade crust. The sauce is complete average. It's possible they're deep dish is better but as far as I'm concerned they're pizza was bland. I'd rather get a pizza from Domenica's.

  • Tim G.

Oh wow. Went in for the first time today for lunch. Owners waited on our table. Very friendly. Beer is ice cold. The pizza is unlike anything I have had before it's like a casserole with a delicious crust. Really high quality ingredients they definitely take the time to do it right. I will be back

I went here based on the recommendation of a friend. Basically, I was informed that I hadn't experienced real Chicago style pizza. (This was all brought on by Jon Stewart's now infamous Chicago vs New York pizza bit on the Daily Show) Like so many others, I went to That's Amore to give the deep dish a shot. Yes, you should call ahead and order if you don't want to wait 45 minutes for your pizza. Is it worth the wait? Yes. Yes it is. The deep dish was fantastic, although it's not something I'd have all the time when I crave pizza. Sorry, I'm a New York pizza guy. The restaurant itself wasn't very full when I was there. The place is clean, the staff courteous, and the food good. Oh, and they were playing Sinatra on the sound system.

Wow!!!! First time Chicago style pizza!!!! The owner and staff of this restaurant were beyond friendly. This is a very welcoming place and more food than you can imagine. We have already recommended to others....actually we made recommendations while eating.

Ok. So I would be horribly remiss if I did not review this great little local pizza joint. I can't inform you of the ambience as I ordered for delivery. But it's not often the owner of a restaurant personally delivers your food along with a bottle of wine. Did you get that? Yes a bottle of wine, personally delivered. A much NEEDED bottle of wine.:-) Thank you Darren! Apparently a guy that up until 9 mos ago who worked a corporate job totally gets the needs of a road weary traveler. Next time can you bring slippers too? By the way.. Did I mention the bottle was only $20? The pizza also was delish. I had the artichoke and spinach pie and it was quite tasty. Nice thin crust, perfectly chewy. I thought it would come with a red sauce, but it did not. The sauce was not bad, just different from what I expected. Still quite tasty and it had a delicate flavor that went well with the wine. So next time you find yourself in The Big Easy, stop in or better yet order for delivery a great pizza pie and smooth bottle of wine. Maybe, just maybe... Darren will end up at your door.

After spending 4 days in New Orleans eating seafood and all kinds of unusual dishes, we were craving the familiarity of pizza. We checked out That's Amore on Yelp, and went there because of the great reviews. We were NOT disappointed! We had the Caesar salad, fried ravioli and a massive deep dish pizza. We're fans of a really great deep-dish pizza place in the San Francisco Bay Area, and though we've been dedicated to it for years, That's Amore was BETTER! The sauce on this pizza is incredible, as are the toppings and cheese. I had one and a half pieces, and I was stuffed. The owner, Darren, came over and chatted with us, and was extremely friendly and welcoming, as was the rest of his staff. The food and atmosphere was exactly what we needed after being in the French Quarter for four days, and we're so glad we went to That's Amore! If I could give them more stars, I would! Now if only they delivered to California...

Carried out the 7" Chicago style deep dish pepperoni pizza. It was one of the best choices of my life. From the first bite you could tell the quality of ingredients that went into making this pizza. I've never written a review before but after eating this pizza I had to write one. Highly recommend this restaurant.

TERRIBLE SERVICE! We waited at the bar for 10 minutes without being acknowledged while the bartender walked past us at least 5 times. Then the bartender proceeded to wait on three men who walked up to the bar way after us. She looked right at us and never even greeted us. We let it go at first and looked over the menu, but once we realized we wouldn't be helped we had to leave. I would never go back except that we have a gift card, so we will be using it for take out only. I worked in the service industry as a bartender...you at least greet people as you are walking by if you are busy.

New ownership is like a breath of fresh air. We always enjoyed the pizza here, but customer service used to be kind of "meh." Now, it's 180 degrees better. Very attentive staff. Prompt service. Excellent food quality. Great atmosphere.

Best chitown pie since... Chicago! They would make all chi natives proud with their pizza!!! It was the first pizza place my wife and I had ventured to since moving here and all I have to say is that the rest have a high bar set for them. A bit pricey for the area, considering even in DC we paid half their prices for amazing pizza, but it was totally worth every penny, just wouldn't want to spend that once a week like we usually would.

  • Clint N.

I've never been to Chicago and had an "authentic" deep dish pizza, but this place definitely has one of THE best pizza's in the New Orleans area. I ordered the meat lovers Chicago style and it was simply the epitome of deliciousness. I would recommend to anyone. The only thing is the wait time for the Chicago style which is 45 minutes, but you can call in ahead of time to have it waiting for you if you wanted. If not then just grab a few beers or a snickers because the wait is well worth it.

Great Chicago-style Pizza with quality ingredients and a kind staff. I split a 7" Chicago-style pizza with spinach, Andouille sausage, and mushrooms with another person and barely had room for the delicious Tiramisu dessert. The crust was light and flaky around the sides but held the weight of the ingredients. Looking forward to my next visit.

Got the Chicago style small pizza. I thought it was a little overpriced until I saw it. It was as big as my head and it was a stuffed 7". Awesome flavor and the crust was perfect. Will be calling again for delivery.

Always a fan of the this place. Great pizza and service as usual. I was there the other night and noticed that they have specials now which is a first. Saints day wing specials and Tuesday and Wednesday beer specials. If you haven't tried this place yet, you should definitely give it a shot.

I needed to go shopping in Metairie, and had a Living Social voucher for That's Amore so it was a perfect time to stop. Being a native Chicagoan, I've seen a lot of pizzas listed on a menu as "Chicago style" and I've never found the description to be accurate. Except here. Supposedly the guy who originally opened the restaurant learned at Uno or Due in Chicago and I can see that, the crust wasn't the cornmeal of Lou Malnati's and the pizza wasn't the unbridled cheesiness of Giordano's - the crust was breadlike although a little too high and too tough on the sides but the rest of the pizza was similar to the "balance" you would expect at Due (I never go to sister restaurant Uno because the wait is always 45 minutes longer while only a block away). When you talk about balance in Chicago pizza it's a bit subjective, because no Chicago style pizza is subtle but the pizza at That's Amore has a good amount of everything and goes toegether well to create a true Chicago pizza. Very nice. The appetizer list is quite limited with a number of fried items such as wings and mozzarella sticks but the spinach & artichoke dip is a nice option because it comes with homemade cheesy bread (okay, it's pizza dough with cheese on top but it's good). The beer list is small but sufficient, and the wine list just tells you the varietal (Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon) but with this list you always go for the Merlot and it was very much drinkable. The ambiance is low key but clean and works just fine, our server was great, and the Chicago style pizza is the best you'll get outside Chicago. If you're in Metairie That's Amore Pizzeria is definitely worth a visit for Chicago style pizza - they also have New York style pizza which I haven't tried but which seems to be less authentic based on what I've read as well as seeing at neighboring tables.

What a fantastic place. Apparently there's a new owner. Great guy who came and sat at out table and greeted my wife and me. Deep dish was well worth the wait. The cold beer made the wait pass nicely. We could eat only 1/2 of the pizza and it was just as good for breakfast the next day. This place will be in our future trips from Baton Rouge.

We've been to Chicago and had the pizza so we couldn't wait to try A more's version. The pizza was good. The sauce is a little sweet and I could've used more of it. But I am hear to tell you that THE WINGS ARE A MUST GET!!! I've had wings at many places and these are the best. They are dusted with some sort of parmesan seasoning. They have plenty of meat but not so much that makes you wonder what they were injected with. When you bite into the wing there is a slight crunch that greets and then introduces you to the juicy meat within. You have your choice of dipping sauces but you really don't even need them. Thank You That's Amore Pizzeria!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
