My wife and I have eaten here twice and both times the food was excellent! The atmosphere is pretty typical for a hole in the wall Chinese Restaurant but the food presentation, quality and taste are first rate. Some of their dishes are prepared a little differently than what is the norm with Chinese-American cuisine but it is pulled off very well. A couple dishes I generally don't care as much for have tasted much better here. Also, the helpings are substantial, I can eat a lot but one entree was easily enough for lunch leftovers the next day.

Not a fan. In the eternal search for the best Mandarin Chicken (think House of Lee, and Hong Kong) we were sadly disappointed to find this was not it. My kiddos always love to take their leftovers home, this time, they passed them by. We've passed this restaurant many times, and we were just disappointed. The staff is nice but the food is not what we were hoping for. The quest for Mandarin Chicken continues.

I hate for the first review of a restaurant to be so bad. But I have to be honest, don't I? After forgetting to eat all day today (Thur, 6th 2010), I stopped there to get some takeout. Why? I'm not really sure. i guess because no one was kind enough to review this place for me. Bad Yelpers...bad, bad yelpers. Ok. The lady working the counter had a super strong accent and was by far the sweetest person I've dealt with today. I mean she was motherly and kind and all around wonderful. It really gave me high expectations. The single women diner who seemed to not care what was in front of her made me worry a bit. I always order Mongolian Beef when I find a new Chinese restaurant. Every time. If I don't like that, I don't go back. It's really that simple for me. I figure it's a fairly simple dish (Even I can make it decently). Since when does Mongolian beef have carrots in it??? Seriously, I kid you not, there were more carrots in it than ANYTHING. I've had places use much, much more onions than beef, and I'm cool with that. But there was more carrots in it than anything. AND HOW CAN A DISH THAT WAS ORDERED AND DELIVERED IN 10 MINUTES HAVE WAAAAAY OVER-COOKED VEGGIES??? It was mushier than old English food. Blah. The food tasted like MSG. Have you ever bought MSG and tasted it? This beef tasted like MSG and white pepper and that was about it. The carrots were so over cooked that they were sweet which totally destroys the idea of Mongolian Beef. If you have eaten here and had something else that was good, I'd love to hear about it, but I will probably never try this place again. Sad...It's hard to find good Chinese in NOLA.

The location is really run down and dirty. The service is terrible. The food is awful and probably the worst Chinese I've had in the area. They do give large portions but when it tastes the way this stuff does in such a dirty environment you should fear eating it. I wouldn't return!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
