Amazing of course! I come here at least once a year and always get the same thing because it is just so good. Best Caesar salad I've ever eaten. Filet comes out sizzling in butter. Garlic mashed potatoes and potatoes au gratin are delicious. Great wait staff. Wish I could afford to come more often. Never disappoints. Highly recommend.

I've come here for lunch, dinner, and business luncheons and the quality or service never wavers. A few years ago I stopped eating meat and I'm always worried when I go to a steak place that their other options will be sub par. Thankfully, Ruth's has an amazing seafood selection and its always prepared to perfection! Makes me not miss my steak eating days. The ambiance is your classic old school steak house feel. The only con is that they do not have a happy hour at this location. I guess everyone is a straight up G over here. Right now they are doing renovations to the bar area so fingers crossed that they will add one when its done. You know I love a good happy hour.

Just because it's "steak" and it's New Orleans they have to do the upscale gig and get you paying ridiculous prices for decent but not GREAT free range beef....USDA 1. Sure it's decent grade....but it's the norm in most states that have REAL free range options. I could just drive to Texas for the cost of one of those steaks and get something right off the range. Is it good? yes. But just because they claim to be the only ones who know how to do steak doesn't mean I have to go a long with the idea they have to make it "upscale" and price it as such.

Always LOVE this place!! Best filets ever! Last visit our service was just ok & they overcooked my steak, but they corrected it quickly & politely & the second one was amazing & perfectly prepared! Always love the chopped salad and I got loaded baked potatoes for a change. All excellent. We also get one of the au gratin veggies ( broccoli this time) & sometimes the sweet potato casserole. Also consistently good. Would recommend & will be back soon!

Very mixed emotions. Defiantly not the best Ruth Chris I have been to. However service was flawless which still goes a long way in my book. The steaks sub par. When I go somewhere like Ruth Chris and order a 50 dollar steak and ask for it med I expect it med. not well done. That's happened twice. In the last few weeks. Ruth Chris still uses a lot of fresh ingredients. Salads and potatoes are great. Again service is flawless. But sometimes they are a shade under outback and as for as price point that defiantly is a bad thing.

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse definitely deserves 5 STARS. The best steakhouse I've been thusfar. The great thing about Ruth's Chris is that it started in New Orleans and pretty much branched out to many other states, so if I ever moved I'll still be able to go to another chain Ruth's Chris. The only location I've dined at is the Downtown location, having dinner there about 10 times since moving back to NOLA. Ruth's Chris is CONSISTENTLY Great! The key here is consistency. I've become so critical at steakhouses now because I now know how it should be prepared. If I ordered my steak MEDIUM RARE, it better be medium rare! and at Ruth Chris never fails to be JUST THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE! The steak arrives at your table SIZZLING HOT..nice HOT BUTTER GARLIC PLATE..MMMmmMM..I can hear and smell the butter garlic sauce sizzling this very moment. My fiancee and I always share our steak. I absolutely LOVE LOVE the fact that I even get a HOT sizzling plate with the butter/garlic sauce...It's an empty plate with JUST the butter so when my fiance cuts me pieces of his steak..mine also stay nice and warm! =) APPETIZERS: 1.) Calamari: good sauce 2.) Mushroom stuffed with Crabmeat: DELICIOUS I love stuff mushrooms; the 10 times I've been..almost always comes to the table HOT =) STEAKS: We always get the CowBoy Ribeye Oscar Style; Ribeye is my favorite cut because of the marbled Fat..gives it great flavor; Bone in ALWAYS! to seal in the juices! (DON'T NEED STEAK SAUCE: TOTAL BLASPHEMY!! for such a high quality piece of beef) If you ever catch me putting steak sauce on my meat, just means the beef isn't so fresh! (We never get the 3-4 course dinner special..I prefer to order A-LA Carte so I can get a better cut of beef) SIDES: 1.) Sauteed Mushrooms: YUMMY; I LOVE Mushrooms 2.) Sweet Potato Casserole with pecan crust: ordered once; never again..too sweet 3.) Grilled Asparagus: YUM! Dessert: 1.) Bread Pudding: Pretty Good OVERALL, 5 STAR!! COME FOR THE STEAK! You won't be disappointed!

This is Ruth's Chris; Yes, it has great steak, fish and amazing blueberry cheesecake. I associate this restaurant with having more of a professional feel, probably because I've been here for business meetings. So, if that's what you're going for, this is your place! Overall, this is a fancy American food place with good flavors and service.

Really, does it get any better than this? I have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed meals at a number of high end steakhouses across this great land of ours but I must say Ruth's remains my all-time favorite. Maybe it's because, as a child of Louisiana, I grew up with the understanding that Ruth's was the pinnacle of a great steak. But more likely it's because these guys take the best cuts of prime beef available and cook them in butter. Yes, it really does make them taste better (not to mention the fine aroma of sizzling butter that tends to permeate the restaurant.) The steaks - the fillet is the definition of "fork tender". The strip - amazing flavor and just a touch of the characteristic firmness (yes, I do believe that this is the most tender strip I have ever consumed.) The sides? all the steakhouse classics but special mention is warranted by the creole creamed spinach - the best that I have ever eaten. Unfortunately the desserts are noting really special but after consuming a prime steak cooked in butter does one really need a dessert? Oh, and service is always impeccable. Bottom line: the best!

I hate my boss. I mean, I hate him. Not for the ordinary reasons that people hate their bosses; in fact, he's one of my favorite people out there (I love you KSB). No, I hate my boss because, in addition to the other benefits of being a super badass who has earned enough to enjoy the finer things in life as a matter of course, more often than not on any given Friday afternoon, he can be found at Ruth's. I have had the good fortune not only to have the opportunity to learn from the master, but to have been taken to his famous Friday afternoons at Ruth's a few times. Ruth's cuts the best steak you can eat at a restaurant. They cook it precisely to order (even obeying my admonition: "take off the bell, wipe her ass, and walk her through a warm room"), lavish it in garlicy buttery ooey gooey goodness, and serve it up sans accompaniment. I love that they prize their steaks enough to serve them solo - that volumes. Their side dishes can stand up to the steaks, though - I ADORE the creamed spinach, the mashed potatoes, and the stuffed mushrooms. The service is stellar, the windows are blocked out (very convenient for day drinking with the boss), and the whole ambiance is pure elegance. I would recommend Ruth's to anyone.

If you want the best, stick with someone who makes the best. In my opinion, Ruth's Chris has perfect the steak. Start with a Crabtini, it's the perfect combination of lump crabmeat, remoulade and a hint of lettuce, we weren't above eating every single bit of it, it was incredible. I followed it up with a Petite Filet, cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Be sure to add the broiled tomato and a side of asparagus, both are must haves whenever we go. I had a house Cabernet and it was exactly what I was looking for. Although we arrived later in the evening, the service was spectacular. If you like to eat, you will love Ruth's.

Steak. Good. Cowboy ribeye. Beast. Bring your wallet. Special occasion. Bomb. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. I like this place. Steak. BJ. Steak. Oh you fancy huh? Yes. Went drunk after a parade once in street clothes and they still treated me with respect. I guess they accommodated for Mardi Gras. Thank you. Went back sober. Just as good. Thank you. Cowboy ribeye is one of the best steaks I have ever had touch my pallet. Thank you.

Horrible experience. I took two people to eat here for the first time and it couldn't have been worse. The only things that came out decent were side items & salads. Every persons steak at our table & the table next to ours were over/under done. We sat there for 45 min snacking on side items until the steaks came back. Then my steak was chewy. I expected something from them for running our meal but that didn't happen either. I won't be back to this restaurant. For the prices they charge the meal better be spot on. They don't deserve any stars. Not to mention as we walked out I watched two other tables sending back steaks.

GREAT STEAK! You go to Ruth's for the steaks, the service and the atmosphere. They delivered on all three points. The ribeye that I had was very good (one of the best steak I have every had)... I would say at least 10 times better than the ribeye I had the week before at Dickie Brennan's steakhouse. The service at Ruth's Chris was also much better than DB's. I went to Ruth's with some people from out of town, 2 of which were from Italy and only 1 of the 2 spoke any English. Our waiter, Mr. Antoine (from Tunisia in Northern Africa) entertained us and spoke Italian very well which was a huge help with language barrier. The potatoes au gratin were really good, but the asparagus was nothing special and I think we got mixed up and thought we ordered the creamed spinach but got the baby spinach which is somewhat bland. Overall, this was a great experience and I will go back very soon.

I've been to a lot of restaurants. It's mostly what I review after spending nearly a decade in the industry myself. So when I was invited to a celebratory dinner at Ruth's Chris I was excited to finally go and try it myself after hearing all of the reviews from friends, and noticeably that most people go for special occasions. Eh. I was kind of disappointed. Not tremendously, but I was surprised by the "lacking feeling" in aspects of the service and food production. We were a large party of 10 and noticed that our server Marcie had other tables beside us. Normal, typical, not surprising. However, what was unusual, is that she didn't have support. That is to say she handled us on our own. She didn't have a back waiter or a beverage waiter to assist her with ordering or delivering food and drink which ended up hurting her bottom line because many of us would have ordered more drinks, had we the chance to order them. I sat through an entire course without the drink I ordered. The food was good but there were hits and definitely misses. My boyfriend and I ordered the lobster mac and cheese and found that the lobster was overcooked and rubbery. The noodles were in a runny cheese sauce and although good to gorge on, not one of the best versions I've ever had. The strawberry salad was overdressed and made the spinach wilted and drippy. The steak was GREAT. I ordered the petite filet medium rare with the blue cheese crust and it was my everything. My steak was served with a lobster tail which was also nailed perfectly. The special that evening was a bone in filet, which if you have ever ordered or served yourself, you would know how expensive it is. My dining companion ordered the special filet and it was really overcooked. So overcooked we actually had the server fire another one because if you're going to spend $50+ on a steak, it SHOULD come out the right temperature. Especially at a steakhouse. They gave him a free dessert too to make up for the mistake. Overall Ruth's Chris is overpriced for food that's 50/50 and disappointing for lack of service, despite their best efforts. I suppose for the price we paid, I would expect MUCH MUCH more.
I had a disappointing experience here about a year ago and felt like I wanted to give it another shot but didn't want to risk dropping a ton of money only to risk another unfortunate overcooked steak experience. So, I went for the We Live To Eat Week special and figured that would be a good excuse to give it another shot. Well I'm glad I did because the experience was definitely MUCH better so I felt compelled to update my review as they have redeemed a few stars in my book. They sat us upstairs in an intimate dining room atmosphere and our server was a very sweet and attentive woman. We got the Steakhouse Salad, cup of Seafood Gumbo, the Petit Filet (Pittsburgh style), Creamed Spinach and Mushroom sides, and the Symphony Dessert. I enjoyed all of it and my steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare perfection with a lovely Pittsburg style sear on top....and did not over cook on the hot plate this time. The symphony dessert was an incredibly yummy cinnamon cheesecake with almond ganache bark on the side that made me sorry I had eaten my whole steak and was therefore very full by the time dessert came around. We had just missed happy hour when we showed up for our reservation...but I did browsed the happy hour menu and it looked pretty impressive with $7 craft cocktails and food items such as the Steak Burger, Zucchini fries, and Ahi Tuna. I will definitely be returning to try out the bar specials in the near future!

Chain restaurants are never my thing, but the happy hour is legendary. Showed up here with a tank top on not realizing there's a dress code. The hostess was very accommodating in trying to find me appropriate attire. I declined, but considering I was the asshole in this situation, I really appreciated how the staff here handled it and I'll show up here more appropriately dressed next time.

Non-local recommendation is to try somewhere else. Though RCS started in NOLA there is nothing original here. Good food if you know what to order. Went with a group so tried a variety of items. Stuffed mushrooms - delicious. Crab cakes and steaks served on sizzling hot plates. Caesar salad way over dressed... 5 star steaks - all cooked and seasoned perfectly. Green beans were garlicky in a great way. Asparagus cooked well but hollandaise was awful - overly whipped and tasted like mayo. Mushroom side needed seasoning. Chicken tortellini soup had pre-made cheese tortellini and served lukewarm. Chocolate musse was excellent - really superb and so was Apple tart. Though some items were great, In a city full of amazing restaurants, can't say we will return.

Ruth Chris is overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's nice. Not a fan of the steak. I've had better steak at o'henrys for 1/2 the price. I had the stuff mushrooms and tuna appetizers. Which were pretty good. The spinach side was tasty too. Serves two. The service is what did it for me. Our waiter was awful. I guess I expected more from all the hearsay and price.

So when I do have to travel outside New Orleans to meet friends at a restaurant this is one that is nice to go to. It is expensive but it also provides the food and service at a level to justify the expense. Valet parking is a must do. You should not be disappointed in any way. But I still remember the days of the original Ruth's Chris on N. Broad at Orleans Ave. in the good old days.

After trying Mr. John's and La Boca, this steak is not as good as I remember. Plain and simple.

Meeting Venue review: This is an above average venue for a private party of event. I've been involved in several over the last 2 years and they have always worked with us to do more than any other restaurant in my circuit of business event host sites. The steaks smell wonderful and usually they serve side-dishes family style (We are not allowed to eat at these events, so smell is all I can provide). They have two rooms upstairs. One, the Derby Room, is the larger one and features an in-room bar, staffed with a bartender for your event if desired. Really nice ambiance. The second, and smaller room is the Boardroom. It is large enough to host a medium-small meeting or a gathering. While not having a bar in-room, it does have access to wired internet and phone lines. Both rooms have closeable doors that go a long way toward barring outside (and inside) noise well enough for the opposite side room.

I think this is the location that is the Original...how fantastic. Keep NOLA well and kicking with establishments that are a true staple for a city with lots of character.

Rarely will I order a steak from a restaurant that do not specialize in cooking steaks. Because of the Vets location, if I want a good steak and don't want to drive too far, I go to Ruth's. I've never had a bad steak there. The only time I had one I didn't enjoy as much was when I didn't have them cook it as rare as I like it. In that case, it was my fault. And the service...it's ALWAYS superb! Hits are always the filet, lobster, crab cakes, creamed spinach, spicy lobster appetizer, and crabtini. The only misses are when I can't make it there. By the way, the lemon drop martinis are THE BEST!

The food and drinks are delectable! They probably have the best crab cake I have had in a restaurant or most memorably best crab cake I have had. The service is never disappointing and I would recommend Ruth's over some of the best know restaurants in town. The only thing I've had that was just ok would be the lamb. If they served it with a sauce or reduction it would inch towards perfection.

As usual an awesome experience. I had the 12oz sirloin with the lobster Mac and cheese. And gotta tell you I have no complaints. The lobster Mac is more than enough for two people to get full off of if anyone is wondering. The only thing I wish they had more of is non alcohol beverages. I don't do alcohol. I'm talking about fruity type beverages. Other than that the food was great and the dessert was delicious. If you like bread pudding this place got it for you.

Good food... But VERY poor service from our server Mark... It was so bad that another server, Sarah, intervened... Because of him, I would not return to Ruth Chris at this location which is unfortunate because I love this restaurant based on the quality of food & service from previous locations...

Another anniversary and once again we are at Ruth's. My wife likes their steaks and I'm not about to complain. We pulled up to the door and the valet took the car away so we were only a couple of minutes late for the reservation. I had dug deep into my wine cellar for the bottle I brought for dinner. It had aged quite well. Ruth's does charge a corkage fee, but at $15, it is very reasonable. I started dinner with the chicken and andouille gumbo while my wife had the blue cheese wedge. The dinner it self was a sizzling petite filet for each of us, mine was medium rare and hers was rare. Cooked to perfection as usual, that's why we come here. We split sides of sauteed mushrooms and broccoli au gratin. The anniversary meal was capped off with a complimentary dessert. Then the waitress took a picture of the two of us at the table and gave us a hard copy, which is something they had not done before. Restaurant has been recently renovated, but is not quite finished. They have added more space for dining and increased the size of the bar.

The Fresh Berry martini is truly amazing! ($12) It has freshly muttled strawberries and blueberries. I also thoroughly enjoyed my Chop Salad, Ribeye (medium rare), Garlic mashed potatoes and Divine Chocolate Cake w/Raspberry cream cheese frosting & vanilla ice-cream ($49.95). Worth every penny! I dined alone so I sat at the bar with Sara, who was so kind and helpful!

I came here last week with a large group for a work function. It was my first time at any Ruth's Chris, and I actually had high expectations. Maybe that's why I found it to be just... ok. We each ordered whatever we wanted, so it's not like we were stuck to a set menu. I opted for the lunch Mixed Grill as my entree. This consisted of a filet, a stuffed chicken breast, and crab cake. The table started with a couple of appetizers, including the BBQ shrimp. The shrimp itself was on par with shrimp served anywhere else. Most of the BBQ sauce didn't stay on the shrimp, but rather remained on the plate. It was a good dip for the bread. I opted for the onion soup, which was covered in cheese. It looked beautiful. However, the cheese was definitely overdone, as it tasted charred in several spots. I ended up picking most of that off. The broth itself was good. My entree came out and it was alright. The chicken was definitely the star. The steak was alright, and the crab cake was ok (but seafood restaurants in the area have better offerings). The side dishes were alright. Nothing really stood out. The "chef's special" of the butternut squash with maple and other fancy things caught my eye, so I ordered that as a side. 1/2 of the squash was undercooked, so I didn't eat most of it. Overall, it was okay. The service was also okay... friendly, but slow at times. I might go back and try a "date night" and see if the food/service is a bit more amazing when it's not such a large group. However, this was definitely a 3 star experience.

Lunch there has not changed and thats a good thing. Classic steaks and salads. Had the crab-cake burger, and it was good. I should have had beef because that is where Ruth's excells. Service was just right. Always a fun business lunch place.

Went here on a date tonight. Ruth's is one of my all time favorites. I love their steaks, of course, French onion soup and shoestring fries. Tonight I felt like eating some seafood and had a craving for crab cakes for a few days now. They have the most delicious crab cakes ever! I loved it. My date and I split up the chocolate mousse cheesecake for dessert. This was probably one of the best things I ever tasted anywhere. Highly recommend!

Divine filet mignon! The au gratin potatoes used to be the best thing I had ever tasted but they seem to have changed their recipe. It's still good but not as good. The sweet potato casserole is amazing too and very similar to my own recipe though I have to admit it's even better. Ruth's also has the best lamb chops I have ever tasted. The service is always impeccable.

This place is awesome. I've been here a couple of times and it's been great every time. Bring your wallet but it's worth every penny.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner here. The parking lot is very small, so If there is no self parking available in the lot, they do offer valet service. We started off with a nice bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, the only issue we had with it was that we ordered a different vintage than the one they brought out. When it was presented my wife asked why we were not given the year we asked for and the waitress went to check... It was because they had ran out and tried to pass it off without us noticing. We decided to just go with the vintage they gave us but it was a little frustrating when I'm spending $150 on a bottle we did not ask for. For an appetizer we got the Calamari which came lightly fried with a sweet and spicy asian chili sauce to die for! Hands down the best calamari we have ever had. For an entree I ordered the 11oz filet which came with sizzling hot butter upon presentation. It was a very good steak, but from what I hear I should have gotten the 16oz bone-in filet for peak tenderness and flavor. My wife had the Lamb chops which were extra thick and truly amazing! For side dishes we had the potatoes au gratin (extremely bland), sautéed spinach and asparagus which were decent. Will we be back? Probably not anytime soon. I'd much rather spend $300+ dollars trying a new steakhouse that will blow us away!

Ordered Lamb chops and one of the best I had. The sides were ok. We tried the banana frosting dessert and it's absolutely amazing.

(5)monika r.

Ruth Chris has the best steak. We had the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection. The crabtini was absolutely delicious. When you want the best go to Ruth Chris you will not be disappointed.

The food was Devine with excellent service. I had the 4oz fillet medallions with large shrimp on top. Delicious !!!! I also had the homestyle cheese cake for dessert. Really Really good! Very large for one but great for sharing.

Steak/filet , creamed spinach, au gratin potatoes & a good red wine. It doesn't get any better then that! Until you finished dinner with their blueberry cheesecake... Awesome!

We both Had the restaurant week special menu deal. Steaks were excellent and done to perfection. Gumbo, mushrooms, salad, dessert and coffee were great. Spinach was just ok.
(4)Stephen G.
We came here for dinner on a Sunday, The steak at RC's is consistently the best around.
(5)Katy K.
