After driving around Metairie and wanting to eat something asian, we decided on one of Yusuke's new izakaya location. This one is a little more fun. The wait staff is young with the exception of the blondie who seems mature, friendly and managing the place. I will say this, if you want hot pot, this place has taiwanese hot pot aka shabu shabu. No lie, I was skeptical but it was good and we were too full. All you really need is order one pot and probably a plate of beef, some veggies, + you have a meal. I was so full. We came back again a week ago, this time no shabu, but I bet during the winter that shabu shabu would be off the chain. At any rate, we had the pork belly on the stick-$1 and friggin good, I have to make sure they cook it a little longer bc I do like the fat kinda crispy, chicken gizzard on a stick for .85, duck yakitori--definitely needs to be a little crispy for $2.50, the beef tongue they didnt get quite right (Yuki's does it well), the Chicken karage was not what i expected (once again Yuki's does this well). We were really full because we had the grilled yellowtail neck and an order of ceviche. Whoooshh, that's 47 bucks right there. Cash and credit is accepted, good for groups, the place is kinda small, there is a small bar, you can watch the guys at work through the red tinted windows of the sushi bar, grilling area. Parking is shared with other vendors. It's right next to the Cafe du Monde on Vets. Dont miss it! Do not get overwhelmed by all the menus!

Update: they split our groups bill! Amazing! First time ever! Thankful for it. Listening to your customers is a huge pro!

I absolutely love this place! I go alllll the time. Negatives: The service sometimes wavers, they seem to go through a lot of people. I don't like the bunch of menus they hand you & sometimes the music is to loud. BUT the food is sooooooo good & so well priced. Every sushi roll I've ever gotten or shared has been sized perfect, very fair amount of innards & just a touch more than the perfect amount of rice (obviously that I like, IMO), especially they're specialty rolls, all the ones I've gotten run between $10-15 but are 10 large pieces. The are so amazingly quick. My friend & I try new small plates every time we go. The hibachi shrimp rice is one of my fav's. As well as the Metairie & Crunchy Dynamite rolls. Everything is amazingly fresh, the atmosphere is great & the flavored Sake or plum wine! YUM! & real Ramen bowls!!! the broth is sooooo good & flavorful.

This place is on the smaller side but when u walk in it is very nice and up to date with the times. I had went there during lunch so it wasn't very busy, which is nice. The food I ordered was good but the food is a little over priced. I have Korean short ribs that was very tasty. I also ordered some tuna sashimi and man was it over priced! I got 5 small slivers of raw fish and it was around $11! That is way too expensive! Other than that it was overall a good experience. One small tip is that the waitress I had could have learned to maybe smile a little bit cause it makes people feel more welcome and she could've been more attentive. Instead of me flagging her down to get more tea she could've came and checked on me a little after she dropped my food at the table. Usually that's pretty standard server stuff.

I stopped in here because I read they had authentic tonkotsu ramen, but what I got was broth with soy milk. The proof was I took some of the broth home and kept it in the fridge over night. The broth was still watery. Real tonkotsu stock has lots of collagen and connective tissue from the bones so when it cools, it becomes gelatinous, almost like a really soft set Jello. The broth was also kind of one note with not too much depth or complexity. Also, no tare or seasonings. There was only 2 pieces of chashu that again, were pretty bland and still cold from the fridge. It only came with 1/2 of a hard boiled egg as opposed to the soft boiled egg that makes ramen sing! The noodles were OK but nothing impressive. Also, there was nothing about this ramen that made it unique or interesting. No nori, red pepper threads, vegetables, or anything that makes it look like there was any thought or care put into the ramen, which, when done correctly, can create addicts! The yakitori was really good though. I had the chicken, chicken skin, and pork belly. They were all beautifully charred, tender, juicy, and flavorful with just the right amount of dressing to make it really pop! I would order all of them in excess if I would go back. The only thing is that it took about 20 minutes to get them to my table for some reason. Its yakitori, not sous vide! Service was OK. Not great but not bad or ruinous. Just mediocre. I was pretty disappointed in the ramen, but the yakitori was the real attraction if you have patience to wait for it!

I didn't like this place the first time I came here because the rolls were bland, but I went back for an early dinner with my grandma and cousins, and we really enjoyed our meals. The Happy Family Roll was so delicious. The fried rice wasn't great, too much soy sauce, maybe? The waiter was okay, relatively attentive, and kept our glasses full. We had a table for four. I don't think you would want to come here with more than four in your party as the dining area is crowded.

Ate here for lunch today. Waitress was attentive and pleasant. Music was too loud. I ordered the hibachi shrimp. It was quit good. I felt that for what I received on a lunch menu was a little pricey. $16 for lunch (drank water and includes tip) is too high. Other than that, not bad.

We come here at least once a week. The service is always very nice and everything on the menu is good especially the baked salmon and most of the rolls.

Best crunchy roll around...I'm pretty simple and stock to what i know, and i know the crunchy roll is delicious, filling, fresh, and consistent. Tried a few other dishes and the chicken yakisoba is tasty too.

Waitress was inattentive. Never freshened our drinks, did not clear the table, and gave us the wrong bill. Saving grace for this place is the food.

With so many GREAT sushi restaurants around I am surprised that this spot is making it! The Sushi is ok, apps are decent, nothing special but the service and the atmosphere were bad enough to keep me from going back. I have been a total of three times so far and each time was worse than the time before. I doubt I would have went back if it wasn't so close to my house. The quality and freshness of the fish was good, however the disco lights, server attire and attitude will have me driving to some of my other preferred sushi spots (Wasabi on Frenchman, Sushi Brothers , Mikimotos, or Rockin Sake)

I walked in hoping to get a teriyaki chicken meal to go (like from the gazillion teriyaki spots in the Pacific Northwest). No luck. I finally decided on chicken yakisoba -- noodles, chicken, veggies all mixed up with tangy sauce. I opted to add bean sprouts for a bit extra. I took it to go and the package weighed a good four pounds. It was just okay. The flavor was decent, but overall, I was disappointed because first, the meal is 95% noodles -- no nutrition in that. Then, with the noodles being so prevalent, the chicken was cut too small to see or easily capture. But, worse than that, there were so few "veggies." A few bits of bell peppers, exactly two strips of what was supposed to be cabbage, a couple strips of onions, several tiny carrot strips -- and that's it. No broc, no zuch, and worst of all, I didn't receive the bean sprouts that I specifically asked and paid for. I picked out the chicken and veggies and had a couple bites of noodles and still have nearly four pounds of noodles left that I don't want. I had about 15 minutes to peruse the menu while waiting for the noodles. They have a ton of sushi and other foods that I'm not adventurous enough to try. Most of the prices seem fair -- the noodles were $8.50 (with tip) out the door. It's very nice inside -- not fancy nice, but casual nice. Full bar. Pleasant employees. Off to see what I have in the fridge that will fill in for what the noodle meal lacked.

I always like to go the Little Tokyo Small Plates and Noodles on S Carrollton for ramen noodles. By far, Little Tokyo has the best tonkotsu ramen in town. Anyway, I found out this new Little Tokyo noodles place about two days ago and went there for twice already. First time, I went there with my coworker and we ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen noodles and jumbo takoyaki. The ramen actually came out pretty good and it's not salty. (Well, I have been warned that their food was a little bit salty. So when we specific told them that not to put too much salt in the food.) For the takoyaki, I noticed that someone wrote a review about it and mentioned that's misleading. I have to say that it's true that they put baby shrimp instead of octopus in the takoyaki. It tasted okay cause it was a little bit plain to me. Maybe it's because the size was jumbo but it did not have too much ingredients inside? My coworker told me that it would taste good if we would order a miso soup to eat with that. I also went there with my friend for the second time. We ordered the squid ring, Little Tokyo roll, and crunchy dynamite roll. We also got some spicy mayo to eat with the food. I was not expecting too much from the sushi cause I know they have some pretty good sushi restaurants in town. But when we got the sushi, they looked pretty good cause they did not put too much rice for the sushi and it tasted a lot better than what I thought!! The waiter and waitress were very sweet over there and they did not mess up the orders!! Their service is another reason why I give them a 4 star. We like the modern decor and atmosphere there. Pop music is pumped through the speakers and there's a large TV mounted to the wall by the bar. I personally think that the music was not too loud like one of the sushi restaurants on Fulton street. (If you have been to that sushi restaurant before, you would know what I am talking about.) Our experience was pleasant overall and we would definitely go back again and more often!! By the way, have I mentioned that they open until 2:00am in the morning? That's definitely a late night place to grab some food and hang out with friends!! =)

I am giving the overall experience a 3 star based on a number of things. First, if you like a louder-than-average, trendy/pop ambience, then this is for you. For me, the music was too loud and obnoxious - therefore, this gets 1 star. Secondly; the menu - I apologize - I mean, the menu's (plural) can keep you busy for at least for 30 minutes. Be ready to read a novel when you sit down to order. This gets 1 star as well. Thirdly; where is the ice for drinks? Seriously, I could count my ice cubes in my ICED TEA. I had to ask several times to bring me more ice. It was as if they were afraid to give you a cold drink. 1 star. Fourth; "You ready?" That's what I was asked after my 30 minutes of the magnificent novel of a menu I had to read. I give 1 star for lack of engaging customer satisfaction. Lastly; the food. Yes! I will give it to them - they have incredible food. Yummy! I give it 5 stars for their food. Listen, I am not a mathematician nor did I do well in school when it comes to averaging out numbers. So, sue me if my math is off, but I give this place 3 stars. If they can improve on making it bearable to dine in there again, I will give them 5 stars. For now, I will just place takeout orders. Seriously, the food is above excellence.

I've been to Little Tokyo before and I figured I'll eat there with a couple of my friends. When I walked in, the music was so loud. I sat closer to door to avoid the headache. I didn't like the strobe type lights. Too flashy. I thought the glass windows ruined the environment because you don't want to see the kitchen when you're eating. I ordered a caramel apple saketini and a few minutes later the waitress comes back and says they are out. I order a tuna poke salad and when it came, the tuna did not taste too fresh and the dish was mediocre. I also ordered edamame and it was a little under cooked. My friend ordered the gumbo and it didn't look too good. It looked like left over stuff boiled in a pot. The white tuna sashimi looked okay but I didn't taste it. I also ordered the Fancy Mamma Roll it it was pretty tasteless even with the eel sauce. The Yellow tail Neck was so salty and dry! My friend ordered takoyaki and it is misleading. There is NO octopus in here. It is shrimp. Tako is octopus in Japanese. Ebi is shrimp. It should say Ebi balls. We asked the waitress if they had pork katsu and she said "no." It is on the menu. They were out of a lot of stuff we tried to order. We didn't finish a lot of the food. I ordered a baked salmon appetizer to go and my boyfriend liked it. My friend ordered a chicken katsu and the waitress comes back and says they are out but then the manager comes and tells us they do have chicken if we still wanted to order it. I will probably not go back after my experience. The other Little Tokyo locations are way better. They need to tweak this location bad! Also, whenever we ordered, the waitress had to look at the menu. The staff should be a little bit more knowledgeable about Japanese cuisine.

I am definitely a fan here. I have been here numerous times and I love their ramen. I usually get their Tonkatsu Ramen and during my last two visits, I noted that there are few combo menu options where you can get half ramen and half hibachi fried rice. The service is getting better in this place compared to a year ago, so it definitely deserves recognition here.

This local chain seems to be spreading its octopus like tentacles all over the Greater New Orleans metro area. Fortunately I like octopus so I can eat the tentacles. With their many locations and large scale buying ability they seem to offer some good seafood options at decent prices. While Little Tokyo isn't usually my first choice it is always a reliable choice for decent to good sushi and Japanese fare. This is probably my least favorite location of all the Little Tokyo's due to the location in a narrow strip mall space. This location does take a bit of a different spin on their usual formula and specializes in ramen, Yakitori (Japanese Shish kabob), and Shabu Shabu (Japanese Fondu) so if you're in the mood for something a bit different you might find what you need here. The location is much smaller than their other spots and the service is inconsistent. The music volume and choice is generally unconducive to my dining pleasure. Overall the experience rates around a 2 star for me as they have often gotten my order wrong along with everything else. They are open til around 2am so if you're in this area that does give it a bonus star for a late night option. I also agree with the other reviewer that noted that the rolls here are frequently made far too loose. I find this to be a Little Tokyo wide phenomena at all their locations and it is a real irritation and detriment that could be easily fixed. The Mario painting on the wall terrifies me...

I've eaten plenty of fish wrapped in rice in my day and this has seriously become my favorite sushi place. Rolls are giant.

my new fave sushi restaurant! I never went in bc the place doesn't look very..... great. But, a friend brought me here & the food is top notch. it proves that you can't judge a book by its cover. i will definitely come back here. service was good. great music. the food is awesome. I had the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, the burning man roll, & the fire sticky wings. (& a cosmopolitan & a glass of the lychee sake)

So I came here with my coworkers for a late meal and had the hibachi rice with shrimp and two skewers. I also ordered a glass of water and the $5 cocktail the Long Island green tea. We were enjoying the meal and having a good conversation. Once I got the end of my drink my coworker saw a bug in my glass. A ROACH!!!! The waiter comped the whole table but tomorrow the manager will be hearing from me!

I'm a big fan of this restaurant; I like it more than the other Little Tokyo locations. The staff is friendly, and they have a very extensive menu. I love trying new foods, and I still haven't tapped out their menu. They also are open late and have inexpensive selections. It's the kind of place where you can go with your college friends and everyone can have a nice meal for around the price you'd pay to go to Applebees and, that one friend who never has money can still find someone within their price range.

I give this place a 3.5, but I am rounding up. It's awesome that this place stays open until 2am on most nights. Sometimes I work until midnight and I am craving for a nice hot bowl of noodle soup or something small to nibble on. I love tempura udon soup, and Little Tokyo brings it out steaming hot. There is just the right amount of noodles and green scallions, and I really like how they do not add white onions into the broth. However, the tempura batter on the tempura shrimp is a bit wet so it does not cook properly to get that crispy texture. Their tuna tartar is amazing! I wish they added more fried wonton chips, but the flavor and sauce in the tuna mix is divine! The fried squid rings are okay. Good crunch with their breading, but lacks flavor and seasoning. It comes with a side of tonkatsu sauce, a type of Japanese Worcestershire sauce, to help make it more flavorful. The environment is rather dark, with colored laser lights flashing around, and the music is too loud. It seems more for the younger crowd, but it looks like a fun place. They offer izakaya type food items on the menu, but I have never tried any of it or any of their sushi. I come here mainly for the inexpensive udon and tuna tartar. I like how they have a numerous amount of varying small plate items so you can have a little of everything. Good place for a midnight snack.

A nice place to go when your looking for a late night meal. Sushi is pretty good but one complaint is that every time we go we notice the sushi rolls are very loosely rolled which makes it messy and difficult to eat. Service and atmosphere are both good, to me the perk is sushi at 12 am!

I've been brought to this place by a good friend and I recently brought my family here and spent a reasonable price for the amount of food we got. The tuna and avocado salad is something everyone and their grandma should try. It's beyond amazing. If I could have it every day for the rest of my life I would. Their rolls are awesome! I don't have a favorite, they're all so great. Fried rice is cooked the way it should be. Their bento box is massive and so worth trying. Their Ramen is the next thing I want to try. I have 100% faith that it will be my next favorite. But that tuna and avocado salad has my mouth watering any day. My service is always good. Seems like they have different staff every time I go though. But whatever...the food!!! I suggest everyone try!! My favorite sushi place of all time.

Though this is in a strip mall, the sushi here is the BEST in All of Metairie period end of subject.
