    My partner and I stopped in for dinner and brews on a terribly windy, rainy night. The interior of Lager's helped us to forget about the miserable weather with it's selection of beer and pretty good bar food. We shared the tex mex egg rolls (delicious). I had the Abita Purple Haze and the grilled mahi mahi sandwich. The mahi mahi didn't need to be so thoroughly grilled, but to be fair, I didn't ask for them to undercook it. Service was prompt and friendly, the hand dryers in the restrooms were awesome, and the ambiance was great for a group of friends (4 or fewer, try to get a booth). A note on parking: this place has a miserably tiny parking lot, and has worked out an agreement with the nearby auto repair place (Jiffy Lube or something similar) for guests who arrive after a certain hour.     No wonder I love this place...It's owned by none other than the Bulldog peeps. How did I not know this until a few weeks ago? Same beer selection, same finger-food/sandwich/burger selection. What's different? Steak. Yep, I had myself a lovely medium rare 8oz filet mignon with "smashed" garlic potatoes and a house salad. What's that you say? Bulldog doesn't have garlic potatoes or a house salad as a side choice? Welcome to Lager's my friend. Welcome to Lager's. I know, I know. It's in Metairie. That's OK, just go there when you HAVE to; you snobs :) The other plus? The soundtrack in this place is awesome (currently, Foster the People is in the mix*). That, unfortunately, is also the only downside--it is too f%cking loud in this joint. Seriously. Turn. it. down. So unnecessary. *I may be biased, I saw them a few weeks ago in a tiny concert, and they were awesome!

    This place is good aside from the parking. There is very little parking and you may end up parking down by the breaux market. What ever! It's a block away so I'm not bothered. They have a great selection of beers from usa, uk, Japan , germany etc. if you can't find a beer that you like then you probably don't like beer. The people working here are usually pretty friendly although last week the girl really didnt want to help me and kept avoiding eye contact. Like I say they are usually pretty good. I'll go back as they have a good beer selection and it's convenient but I wouldn't put it at the top of my list.

    Fantastic beer selection and some decent food. The cheese fries are simple but good and I order them a lot. The burgers are decent, but they NEVER cook them evenly. Typically my burger will be medium rare on 1/2 and medium on the other 1/2, or medium and medium well. Never is it cooked medium-rare throughout like I order it. Regardless, you go there for the draft beer, not the food. In that area they excel. I would say 3 1/2 stars overall. 5 stars for the beer and two - three stars on food.

    Cool Metairie pub! Nice selection of beers on tap (I would expect nothing less from a place of its name) as well some decent bar food. Good burgers! It's all very casual. The dining room is set up with a number of longer "group" tables which gives the place an overall beer hall feel. If the Haufbrau Haus had a kid with a local sports bar this is probably what it would look like. Note that it can, and often does, get VERY loud in here. Not really a "date" place but a great place to grab a beer and some solid bar food.

    I use this place as an alternative to the popular and overcrowded 'The Bulldog' when I want good draft beers. With over 70 beers on tap and mouth watering bar grub (mind the calories). However, they do highlight a handful of low-fat items on the menu, such as grilled chicken, fish, and hearty salads. The place is ornamented with all sorts of wall décor, so there is always something to stare at besides the mounted TVs. Group tables, rustic wood, and a dark ambiance, I would agree - it reminds me of a cozy beer hall. It can get lively and the outside patio is a good place to take a break and soak up a beautiful night. They have great happy hour specials, so you will often find corporate types liberating after a hard day's work in the office. Huge draft beer selections and good food: an excellent place to unwind after work in Metairie.

    This place has great bar food and an excellent selection of beers. The service isn't the best, which is why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. The people are friendly, but the service isn't the fastest, and the last time we went they managed to make a mistake on both my order and my wife's. The food is very good, however. The burgers are some of the best I've found in Louisiana, and were cooked just as ordered (medium-rare came out medium-rare)! They also have a "pint night" on Wednesday, where with every pint you order you get to keep the glass.

    This is a great bar. Very casual atmosphere, seating at the bar, in booth or beer hall style. It can get noisy. There are also a quieter patio with tables and TVs that is nice when the weather is right. Large and varied beer selection. If you can drink your way through this list, you have done something that should be noted on your gravestone. They do bar food better than anyplace else I can think of - imaginative, high quality and good value. Everything is good, you can fill up on the Tex-Mex egg rolls and the Buffalo Chicken sandwich is the best I've had since I left Buffalo. What other bar serves grilled asparagus? I would say the hamburgers are excellent, but note that they are not quite as good as Phil's down the street. It was disappointing when they took the Duck Quesadillas off the menu. Service is generally quick, friendly and efficient. This is a sports bar. Lots of nice flat screen TV's scattered around the room. Parking can be a real nuisance. You can park at the tire place a couple of lots west after 7:00.

    Yo, I never expected the food here to be so freakin tasty. This place on the strip, right next to the mall,for cryin out loud, has more draft beers than Cooter Browns and a nice taverny atmosphere, and here is the surprising part: kick ass steaks, cooked to Per-fec-zion and burgers.. the burgers! Do a little dance. Make a little love. Get down tonight. And they got these specials, like take home the glass night, or domestic night, or whatever... Makes it kinda fun..kinda cra-zy. Gives you an excuse to pull the trigger. Like you needed one. Who you kiddin? Reasonable prices as well. All of which would explain the full parking lot. In the humble opinion of your faithful reviewer, which you have been gracious enough to follow to the end of this sentence: I think you'll go home happy. Nuff said, so check it! If you do not want to commit franchise treason by going over to Outback across the street, you could go to Lagers and keep your commy conscience in tact.

    Looks like a great selection of beers though I visited at lunch when it was a bad time to drink. The quesadillas were good for an app. Me and a friend both wanted the crawfish pie but they only had one so I went with one of their grill chicken burgers that the waitress recommended. I got to try some of the crawfish pie and it turns out it was way too salty and that ruined the flavor, plus I think it is prepared well in advance or shipped in so it did not taste too fresh. However, the chicken sandwich was the best I have had in a long time, great chicken sandwich

    More sports bar then pub, Larger's at least has a good selection of draft beers. Their food isn't too bad either, but it's about what you expect for pub food. Really the reason to go here is for a frosty pint of draft beer. So, if you can put up with the sports bar noise and patrons, feel free to grab a pint. I recommend the Spatten Heffeweizen. Sit outside (weather permitting), it's nice than inside.

    The beer selection is great, the atmosphere is that of a dark English pub, the prices are reasonable, and the food is better than you would expect. I had a fried shrimp po'boy and appreciated that I could get red beans and rice as my side. My dad had a tuna steak sandwich he claimed was one of the best he had ever had. The bloody mary's were only $3 on Sunday before two and the nightly drink specials were also pretty generous. This was our bar in Metairie!

    My wife and I used to eat here when she lived around the corner. We were so happy with it, we ended up having a casual wedding dinner here when we got married. The blackened ribeye is the bomb, served on a hot iron skillet, and can be complimented by a few things, but my favs were the garlic red skin mashed potatoes and the vegetable skewer. Beer selection is great, and atmosphere rocks too. Would be a five star if the parking lot was bigger.

    I was really looking forward to the Beer Selection as well as the Food! When we entered the Restaurant at 6pm it was a 'seat yourself' kind of situation. Fine by us, we went and headed for the bar. Michael our bartender made the entire experience for us! He had several suggestions on beer choices and was happy to give us samples. I Love any bartender that will do that for me. It takes me back to my youth at Baskin Robbins! (-: I decided on one of his favorites and I am glad he suggested it. It was not a beer I would have chosen on my own. Yeah for Michael! Drinks were great but I think we just missed the mark on the food we ordered. Skip anything healthy at this restaurant and you will be good! The highlight for me was the Waffle Fries. Sad but true! I think I might be the only person who orders a salad with a side of fries! All things in moderation right?? Seriously, don't miss out on going to Lager's! I would love to give them 5 stars for service, 4 stars for the drinks and 3+ stars for the food. I will order the food differently next time and I am sure it will be almost a 4+ rating!!

    THIS is the place to be. Too bad they don't open one on the Northshore where I live. They have enough taps to satisfy the beer lover in you, that's for sure. Well, most of the time. The parking is a little tight, but usually you can park at Goodyear two doors down if you can't find a place to park by the building. Whenever I'm in Metairie, I MUST stop here and get my Philly Cheese steak wrap fix. I've gotten the crawfish banditos before as well and they're good. So is the etouffee. But mostly, I get the wrap because it's just THAT good. The staff is always nice and polite and will always try their best to suggest beers that you might like based on what you tell them. They're pretty knowledgeable about that kind of stuff. There are many different seating possibilities for you and your party. They have booths, tables, little small table/bar kind of things and a regular old bar. Prices are good for a place like this. Hell, we sometimes travel across the lake JUST to eat and drink here! These same people also own the two Bulldogs on Magazine and Canal, so you can familiarize yourself with the business. You're coming to an International Ale House for the beer, though. And they won't fail to quench whatever thirst you have, that's for sure.

    *Edited on 07-25-2015 after returning here the night prior. They made this odd decision to change the menu and remove many of the items I rave about. Mainly, they no longer have veggie kabobs and asparagus. These were some of the items I felt differentiated Lager's from all the other bar food and beer places. Now if you want veggies, you have...wait for it...corn or broccoli. Booooo! The food still tasted good and everything else was the same, but the new menu is a bad decision. Dropped my review down a star as a result. Please, please, please bring back the veggie kabobs and asparagus.* Used to be my favorite bar food in town. Pro's: 1) Delicious, reasonably priced food. They even have healthy options for those of us who don't want fried potato skins covered in cheese and bacon. 2) Large menu of beer on tap. Decent prices and happy hours. 3) Friendly, pub type atmosphere. It's somewhat dark and you can sit off by yourself in a booth if you want. Also, TV's everywhere. Con's 1) Parking is sometimes inconvenient, but only when they're packed. 2) Wait staff is so-so. I've had good waitresses and very mediocre ones. 3) Removed veggie kabobs and asparagus from sides menu. Changed a lot of items on menu recently. (As of 07-25-2015)

    I would give this place another star for great food--the calamari is a stand out, hands down--but the waitstaff is mostly not so great. I have waited to order and for orders here for ridiculously frustrating amounts of time. It's not overly loud, but it gets crowded fast. This still doesn't justify how long the waitstaff takes for any task. It's almost as if it's just some training ground for new waitstaff to begin bigger and better things. That's a shame, too, because it does a disservice to the chefs and their productions in the back. I'd say if you're looking for a place to eat, go when there aren't too many cars outside, or maybe try to sit at the bar--sometimes that helps.

    Beer, beer, beer, and more beer, If you like beer, this is the place to be. If you simply like Bud light and Coors, head across the street to Buffalo Wild Wings. Lager's is the place to go for a wide variety of beer. Prices aren't necessarily cheap, but they have good beer and decent bar food. Con: It is a big place, but parking is not fun.

    The Lager Ale House has a wonderful atmosphere. Dark and very welcoming, you know from the time you walk in that you are in for a fun evening. They have TV sets all over the walls and are willing to accommodate requests for shows. The service was sporadic but friendly. The waitress casually passes by and interaction was minimal, but we never felt ignored and everything came in due time. THE BEER Download a QR Reader and scan a little postcard on the table. This will take you to the "encyclopedia" of beers. From here, you can narrow down the beers by "on tap" "bottle" or "Can" and then explore further by country, ABV, type of beer, name, etc. When you click on a beer, it gives you a brief description of the flavors as well as a small history of the brewing company it came from. Pretty cool stuff. For Oktoberfest, they have a menu on the table of beers to try. THE FOOD REALLY good. I had a hankering for steak and decided to go with the filet mignon. As soon as I ordered, the brain bugs attacked. What had a just done? Did i really order FILET MIGNON at an ALE HOUSE?!?! ugh...well, lucky me! It was a really really good piece of meAt. Cooked a little under medium, it was tender and soft and melty and delicious and i think i may have wet my keyboard salivating at the thought of it alone. Husband dearest had a burger and his eye lit up after the first bite. he then proceeded to ignore me until he finished it, never offering to share, a clear sign that he loved what he was having. Definitely a place I would visit again!

    Pretty cool place to hang out, have some drinks and watch a game. I actually stopped in a couple of times while visiting my friend who lives in Metairie. On my last night in LA, I just wanted to chill and hang out. The NCAA championship game was on, and this was the perfect place to watch it. They've got enough TV's where it didn't matter where you sat, you'd have a good view. TV in the patio area too! The place was busy, and I thought the server was really friendly and attentive. Typical bar food, nothing I was crazy about, but I did like the Crawfish Banditos. Us Arizonans would call them Mini Crawfish Chimichangas. Flour tortillas stuffed with crawfish, cheese & seasonings, deep fried and served with some guacamole & sour cream. So flavorful, not spicy at all....deeelish! If I lived around here this would be a good hang out spot. If you like beer, they've got a good selection on tap too!

    100+ BEER CHOICES BETWEEN THE BOTTLED AND DRAFT SELECTIONS Started out with Tex Mex Egg Rolls. Spicy grilled chicken blended with roasted corn, roasted peppers, sauteed onions, black beans and mixed cheeses, rolled up, fried and served with raspberry chipolte sauce that totally complimented the egg rolls. Turbo Dog Chicken Sandwich was recommended by our server Michelle. It came dressed to order on a cheddar jalapeno bun, topped with Applewood smoked bacon, Monterey Jack cheese and a very sweet and tangy Bbq sauce. Decided to splurge and upgrade to sweet potatoe fries from the regular fries/ waffle fries for just 99 cents more. Tribute to Miami , Yu-go opted for the Cuban Sandwich filled with tender juicy pulled pork, sliced ham, melted Swiss cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, zesty pickles honey mustard on a grilled roll with waffle fries. Surprisingly we left very full and pleasantly satisfied.

    Since it's opening, I have been a frequent patron of this establishment. At one time, I was enjoying a cold brew three times a week, sometimes more. Now, I try to attend once a week. Lagers has one of the friendliest bar staffs in Metairie, in my opinion. Not to mention the lovely, beautiful, gorgeous waitress staff ready to help you make a food or drink decision with a gigantic smile! The atmosphere is very casual and intelligent. The food is phenomenal; the burgers are a must to try. Seriously, in all my years of being a customer, I have yet to have a burger better than a Lagers' burger; alright, in all fairness the Beachcorner Bar and Grill has an excellent Black and Bleu burger (loads of crumbled, crispy bacon and bleu cheese). But, that's the only exception, and it is located in New Orleans - LAGERS is in Metairie, and I live in Metairie. So there! Let's talk beer. Cold, delicious, freaking wonderful beer. So many taps. So many bottles. So much beer. Whatever you are looking for in taste, it's most likely there. Did I mention the beer? I did? Cool! Also, there are lots and lots of flat screen TV's to watch your favorite sports games. Did I say anything about beer? Ok. Sorry. Moving on. Lastly, I want to reiterate that Lagers is a must-visit place while either visiting or living in the greater Metairie and New Orleans areas. I hope to see you there!

    This is becoming a regular spot for my metairie friends! We usually hit this joint after watching a movie to grab a drink and some food. Each time I've got the service has been great, Jamie and Jessica are awesome. Something about the J ladies! :) plus I ran into Jessica at the Mellow mushroom and she remembered me and was super friendly and said hi! How nice was that? I believe this joint is owned by the same folks who brought us the Bulldog hence the cornucopia of beer and cider on tap! If you are a craft beer lover then this is the Metry spot to be! Their beer list is exhaustive. I wonder if they have the beer card like Bulldog does? Anywho I don't drink beer but rather cider and they have yummy ones here! I have tried their hummus, burgers, fries, crawfish banditos and everything has been yummy. The ladies restrooms are clean which is major bonus! I like the little booths too. Oh and when the weather is nice they have a cute outdoor sitting area with white lights and a fountain! Enjoy and happy drinking and eating!

    We found Lager's to live up to its rating and were very happy with our time spent there. We would certainly return again if we are in the NOLA area! The Beers: This is a wonderful place to spend time with new and interesting beers! I was able to try beers that I've not been able to find at my local brewhouse. Looking at the tap list, it was quite extensive and also very diverse. I've been to a few places that have IPA on all 12 taps and that is great if you love IPA but if your beer taste trends towards other styles it can be a bummer. That is not the case here. The bottle list was equally as extensive with Stone, Southern Tier and Founders available. Overall, if you are looking for beer, this is worth the stop. Food: We stopped in for a few beers before dinner at another restaurant so we ordered appetizers to go with our beers. The waffle cut fries were good and so were the chicken tenders. Our kid tried both and then went back to coloring. Kids: We take the heathen with us on vacation and Lager's was quite kid friendly with crayons and a coloring placemat available. The kids menu was available though we didn't order from it. Its always nice to have a kids menu as it shows the establishment has both thought it through and also that kids are welcomed. Ambiance: As others have mentioned, the decor is darker tones which goes well for the venue. Its not black paint but instead quite intricate woodwork with wainscoting and crown molding. TV's were everywhere so I was able to ignore the heathen and spend some quality time with the TV. Thank you, Lager's. Looking forward to returning if we can make the trip out to NOLA again!

    What to say? This bar has became my local go to bar. The friendly wait and bar staff make it worth it! Killer food, with an unmatched beer selection in Metairie make it a no brainer. I recommend the pulled pork with Japelano bun. Good Lord, make a fool weak in the knees....oh wait, that's the hot ass waitresses. Why haven't you been here yet? Oh yeah, if you plan on coming back again and again, get the freaking Lizard Lounge club card....boo yea!

    I came across this place on Yelp while looking for a bar at lunch time that had wifi where I could just shoot some emails out and have a quick bite to eat. Apparently it's a tad bit difficult to find Wifi in Metairie! Anyway, the bar itself is cute, reminds me of the movie, the Waterboy, it's very southern Louisiana, local, divey college like bar. I loved the fun 'get drunk' posters that align the walls, the old wooden booths and old school bar seating at a long wooden bar. It's definitely a fun late night dive bar, perfect for the 21-25 year old crowd. They have a decent selection of beers too. Anyway, I sat down at the bar and ordered a club soda to start, the bartender was super sweet, friendly, and accommodating (coming from NJ, I really do appreciate the Southern charm). I decided to go with a spinach salad with walnuts, goat cheese, and grilled chicken in a raspberry balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I probably should have just ordered a burger and a beer. I must have looked like a total weirdo with my NY/NJ accent ordering a club soda & salad. Anyway, the salad wasn't that great at all. The grilled chicken on top was okay, I felt like the entire salad was grilled chicken and then when she handed me the bill, I realized that she had charged me for two orders of grilled chicken...not sure what that was about. I ended up paying $20 for a salad and a club soda at a dive bar?! It was mainly spinach, some onions, and tomatoes, not much goat cheese or walnuts. Overall, a bit disappointed, but I think I ordered the wrong thing and came during the wrong time of day...

    I always loved the food here but thought the service was always lacking due to the servers always having poor attitudes. I don't often update my reviews BUT... I felt compelled after visiting Lagers earlier this week. My boyfriend and I went for some burgers and seasonal beer scavenging and JESSICA was our server. She was very pleasant and helpful and suggested great beers to me that I had not tried before and I enjoyed each of her suggestions. I don't know what changed, but Lager's hired a good one FINALLY! It was so refreshing to have such a knowledgable server who actually spent a little time chatting with me and figuring out what my taste in beer was so she could navigate me through the selections. She even suggested some nonseasonal beers that I had not thought to try before and she was spot on. I had spent quite a bit by the time I left but it was worth every penny! I'll go every week if I can have Jessica as my server :-)

    Important point: this is a bar first and foremost, restaurant takes a back seat. Having said that, the food is not bad but the service was lousy for me. Sitting at the bar to eat (I travel on business and eat alone) is a dicey service proposition anyplace, but Lagers was particularly poor. A few heavy drinkers got his full attention and everyone else sat waiting. All in all 3-1/2 stars for food, 2 for service.

    I went here for lunch with a friend around 3. The place was empty! Maybe 4 tables sat inside and 1-2 outside. Despite this, the service was so slow. We waited over 40min for a burger and Philly cheese steak. We were sitting within eye sight of the ticket window. The kitchen staff kept talking instead of cooking and would stare at us as we waited desperately for our food to hit the grill. When the food did finally arrive, the fries were burned and the burger cold with icy cold shredded cheese on top. They didn't even bother to melt the cheese! The cheesesteak was barely warm. At the end, the server came back around to take our dessert order. I ordered the cheesecake to go. It took 25min to get it, but that was the only part of this meal worth the wait! It was a huge delicious New York style cheesecake with strawberry syrup on top. Overall, slow slow slow. Come here if you have time to spare and no interest in warm food.

I have had the egg rolls, quesadillas, and just recently the Cuban. None of them good. I ate half the Cuban and took the other half home for the dog.     I don't make it out to Lager's often, but when I find myself in Metairie, and the group I'm with wants something other than the same old, I usually suggest this place. Not only does Lager's have a fantastic beer selection (in that sense, it is basically Metairie's answer to The Bulldog. They even have some beer on tap that The Bulldog doesn't offer) but they have really good food. I have gone here for dinner more than once and I would definitely call it a step up from typical "bar" food. I like the "old pub" feel of the place. They have a big screen for games days, but the place is small. If you are planning on checking out your favorite team here, you might want to arrive early.

    Lagers is a great place to sit outside to eat and drink or inside the booths are cozy and lots of high top tables too. It can get pretty loud inside. Food is above average with a few healthy choices. beer prices are slightly high but large selection.($4.50 draft pint) Usually theres pretty good music playing in the background. My personal suggestions that I have ordered at least a dozen times: tuna steak with sauce onside, tuna sandwich, chicken/bacon sandwich,waffle cheese fries,asparagus,dunkel hamburger,crayfish banditos,quesadillas,sweet potato fries and buffalo chicken salad. Beers: abita andygator with lemon or half andygator/purple haze(formally known as purple gator) or blue label chimay

    It gets ridiculously crowded on the weekends, so expect to fight for a seat (inside or outside) doesn't matter. Parking is a huge mess as well. It's completely warranted though. Huge selection of beers both on and off tap. Micro brews, factory made, and craft all under the same roof. But I mainly go for the bar food. The amber fries are a must, I've yet to have better cheese fries anywhere else in the US. The pilsner burger is also amazing as well. (And don't shy away from the Chimay Bleu burger either.) Make a special trip to the bathroom, it's amusing as hell.

The also have a nice beer selection although we stuck with Abita and blue moon for the most part. We went late afternoon which is the perfect time to head there if your trying to catch up with friends. The crowd is small enough you can hold a conversation without shouting.

    Good food. Good beer. Good games (on tv). That pretty much sums up Lager's. They're owned by the same people as The Bulldog, so they have the requisite giant beer selection. The food menus are also basically identical: burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, apps, and a few plated entrees like steak and crawfish pie. The best item on the menu is the raspberry vinaigrette (comes on one of the chicken sandwiches, but I ask for it for the blackened chicken). The atmosphere is more restaurant or sports bar & grill than just bar. This makes it a lot better for watching games than The Bulldog. It is still a pretty small location--mostly high top tables, a few booths and some limited outdoor seating so don't go too late for game or you might not get a spot. Oh and as an added bonus, they have a lot of the same specials as the Bulldog locations (including pint night on Wednesdays).

    The same people that own Bulldog and Velvet Cactus own this joint and that used to be a great thing but now its all gone way too corporate for my taste. The food here is definitely at a higher level than the Bulldogs but it used to be a whole LOT better and I would eat lunch here often but the quality and selection at lunch has definitely declined so I don't eat here anymore. Similar to the Bulldog they specialize in good quality beer and I used to stop off in here during parades on Vet's (such as the the St. Patrick's/St. Joseph's). This used to be one of the cooler bars for drinking beer on Vet's but I generally stay in the city and the beer here is expensive compared to surrounding establishments.

    Located in an unlikely strip mall location in Metairie, Lager's is a classic beer pub that originated, according to their history, from Bulldog, a very good beer pub in the Garden District in NOLA. Lager's is appealingly dark and masculine. Spacious, there are high wooden bar tables clustered all over and booths toward the back. Televisions are perched all over, and there will be a good view of one from just about anywhere. Or just sit at the bar, surely the best seats in the house, and admire that collection of 75 taps. Yes, 75. And at least that many more available bottled. For sure, this is a serious beer pub; there really aren't any major (or minor) styles they don't carry, representing breweries that span the globe. Of course, mainstream beers are also available. If you know someone who likes beer, where ever they might be on the style/flavor spectrum, there will be something for them here. The bartender was fun and enthusiastic about discussing some of the beers on draft, and our group enjoyed the ones tried. Their "grub" menu doesn't stray too much from classic pub foods, albeit with some Southern touches. Being between meals, we only tried some "Hop Wings" that were serviceable but not why I'd return. Its unfortunately out of the way for a visiting out-of-towner like myself, but highly recommended to anyone in the area looking for a good place with a great beer selection.

    The supervisor Christina is awful. She is rude, inconsiderate, and a complete mixture of expletives. There is a "Kid's Menu" with misleading information. The order was wrong but I had a hungry child, so I let her eat part of it while waiting to speak to management. When management arrived we explained what was wrong and to see if we could get a discount on that entree (it would have been $2). It was more of the principal of the matter of them acknowledging they messed up. Instead Christina proceeded to correct us that the kids menu was not an actual menu and it was wrong subsequently saying that we didn't know what we were talking about in a very condescending tone. She refused to do anything for us further than offering to put the missing ingredients on the side, after suggesting that they shouldnt have been there in the first place. She's absolutely ridiculous and needs to tone down the attitude.

    Working at Lakeside though college Lagers was one of the only "cool" places to grab a drink and get real food after work so we did...a lot. It is the sister to Bulldog so you will find all the same great beers, full bar and an extended food menu. After years of coming here I can say one thing, they are consistent. The food always comes out exactly the way you expect it so you can count on a good meal. I enjoy how they offer lighter options like grilled chicken and veggies as a side instead of fries. Calorie watching aside, they have some of the best bar food you can find. Excellent battered waffle cut fries make for crazy good cheese fries and if you are feeling extra wild go for the Porter fries. The spinach dip is good with the fried pita chips and can come not fried by request. Burgers, wraps, finger food, they have an extensive menu to cover all bases. The inside is smoke free and I wish they would extend that rule to the patio (sorry smokers) I love to sit outside, but hate when I have to smell smoke while I'm eating. I have also come here numerous times with groups as large as 20 and they do a great job of making sure everyone is taken care of and don't bat an eyelash at "separate checks".

    For five years we made Lager's our Friday spot. We became Lizard club members and even got to enjoy a Lizard Party on xmas 2011. We stopped going around September 2012 because of bad service, or rather bad attitude of most of the staff to include the manager. Today we tried to give it another try. It did not go well. We sat outside and ordered St. Paulie Girl beers... We were told they didn't have that. The waitressed seemed uninformed, uninterested, un knowledgable. I go inside and another waitress asked our waitress if we actually had sat outside in the heat. Yes it was hot out there, so?! I paid for another beer I had ordered, and more bad attitude. We left forever this time.

    My wife and I are avid restaurant goers in Fat City and we figured we would try Lagers out for the first time. We will not be coming back. She had a burger and I ordered a Ribeye Medium. When charging $25 for a Rib eye, it really should be on point. Our server brought us the food and my steak was well well done. I told our waitress and she was more than happy to return it and bring another. when the other steak. I was starving so I started eating the other steak. I got to the halfway point and noticed my steak was barely cooked at all. One side had score marks and the other had none. this tells me that it wasn't even flipped, I showed the waitress and she said she would take care of it. I was comped the 2 beers that I drank and payed full price for the steak. I decided to call and speak with the manager on duty. He told me the waitress said I ate most of the steak and that is why i was only comped the 2 beers. I am 6"2' and 290 lbs. and not against raw meat consumption. At this point, what was I supposed to do, wait for another steak with my wife being done with her meal. I ate half and was so aggravated with the whole situation that we just left. I know everybody in the city and I will be sure to spread the word. Yelp and reviews really failed me on this one. FYI If you are gonna have an open air kitchen, be sure your staff doesn't look like pissed off at the world

Not so much that you spend forever selecting what you want but enough to have different types of food to choose from.     In town on business and I was not in the mood to go to the French Quarter for some overpriced tourist stuff. I drove around a bit and saw Lager's from the road. Thought I would pull in and give it a shot. Inside of Lager's has kind of an English pub feel to it, 70 plus brews on tap, dark wood furnishings, a bunch of high tables, dark atmosphere and several big screen TV's. The atmosphere told me that this place was built for sucking down a few pints and engage in a few hours of conversation. I came here for the food too, ordered buffalo shrimp for an appetizer. Just what the doctor ordered as it went great with the Blue Moon I was drinking. Only knock I have is that it wasn't as hot as I like it. After a few more brews, I ordered a cheese burger with fries. The fries, which were waffle fries were acceptable. Burger hit the spot too, a full half pound of beef with cheese and other stuff. Service was nicely timed. They didn't rush you but they were ready when you were. Bar had plenty of patrons but a the same time, it wasn't overcrowded. Definitely the stuff that regular watering holes are made of. Got a big kick out of a bartender who had a handlebar moustache and goatee. "Somebody give that musketeer a sword!"

    Lager's is an excellent place to get a beer and/or food and relax or have a fun night out. I prefer the relaxing so I like to grab a pitcher or 10 with friends, get a bite to eat and sit outside. When sitting outside you can watch the traffic roll by on Vets and people watch. Lager's has an unbelievable amount of beers to choose from. I challenge you to drink one of each (not in one night). If it is slow, the bartenders or other patrons will be happy to help you pick a beer to try. Parking is limited so try one of the surrounding businesses lots. Just be careful they don't threaten booting or towing. The later it is, the safer you are parking in another lot.

Parking is a bear but if you time this just right you can make it happen =) Anyone who follows me on twitter knows the one and only item on the menu that I go for is the grilled tuna sandwich on the jalapeno cheese bun with sweet potato fries! You can't go wrong with this once you add the wasabi mayonnaise and it is loaded in protein to keep you fueled for the rest of the day! I can actually say I have only been here a few times at night and there is a parking lot you can access to accommodate the additional crowd but my time of the day here is lunch and well worth the loops around to find a spot =)

    I would say this is this place to go if you're craving for beer in Metairie. They have a big variety of beer on tap. Probably the most extensive collection on Vets that I know of. Nice happy hour specials each day and they have a patio outside where you can puff the camel. This place is run by same company as the popular Bulldog. So they have the Wednesday night deal where you buy a pint and get to keep the glass. How cool is that? And it's not nearly as packed as Bulldog on Wednesdays. The weekend does get packed though.
