Very unique items on the menu. I had an omelet with swiss, duck, crab, and onions. Very good. The grits were some of the best I've had anywhere. My wife had the standard breakfast. She loved it. Service was good, you have to order at the counter but I'm ok with that. Prices are a bit high, which is common for a place in Old Metairie, so I won't eat here like all the time because my wallet would get upset with me, but I would certainly come back every now and then, it's a nice place. I'll probably try the corned beef hatch hash next time.

I went for breakfast and was not disappointed in the least. Great menu. I had the corned beef and hatch hash. Plenty of good and tasty corned beef. I need to go back for about 3 more things on the menu. Parking is no problem and seating was not an issue. Only problems were the slow pace of the order line and the minimal A/C. The girl taking orders also made drinks, took phone orders, answered the phone, refilled the silverware, and a couple more tasks. Each group ordering took approximately 5 minutes. My group was 4th in line and it took 20 minutes to get to the head of the line. They need another person behind the bar so the order taker can focus on just taking orders. And the A/C simply couldn't keep up. I will be back!

I hate to write this review. Because I'd hate to ruin a secret. This place has the best quality breakfast in the New Orleans metro area. I travel a lot and it rivals top hotel breakfasts around the country. Interior, basic and a bit elegant hipster (if that's a style). Concrete floor. Bar, and alcohol. But for food? It takes first place from the original ruby slipper. But It's perfect food wise. And Metairie is in need of competitive breakfast places. I am a breakfast snob. I admit it. I hate paper thin pre cooked bacon and "ready to eat" extruded breakfast links that are reminiscent of my old terriers accidents. Toast is something that should be toasted. Not soft and limp. The British do get a few things right on toast. So here it is. This place has a very narrow menu. But it's great. It's the best. The best bacon, great sausage, eggceptional eggs, British quality toast, homemade jams, etc. I've also had the couchon de lait biscuit. Shut the front door! The biscuits have NO rival. I've had the corned beef hash. Pretty good. Coffee is fresh. But the breakfast menu has the illusion of seeming limited. And lunch menu is actually limited as well. The menu should expand at lunch for a sub $10 burger and a decent po-boy. A nice 5 oz burger on brioche with Gruyere and this house bacon would rock. The owner is a nice fellow. Had a chat with me a few times. You can see one very important thing. He cares about what he serves. I have noticed a steady decline in other restaurants quality while the prices keep rising. This guy bucks the tide. So ruin this place with a crowd. It deserves success and deserves attention. The owner needs a little advertising and this place would be crushed. Get Charlotte McKinney (Google her-watch the video) to munch a Blue Line future burger and the world would be at peace and in harmony and the hoard's would beat the path. I hate myself for writing this. You're going to love it.

Average tasting food at slightly above average prices (or light on the serving size) pretty much sums up my experience here. I had the tomato-basil soup and St. Patty's Day massacre sandwich (that has corned beef, duck pastrami, Abita braised cabbage, and remoulade aioli on it served on marble rye). Honestly the portion sizes were too small for the price and I would've gotten more sandwich for my money at Martin's Wine Cellar, Whole Foods or most other sandwich joints around. The soup serving size was more of a cup than bowl size. Everything tasted OK and I would give the food a three star rating but the portion sizes in relation to the price takes a star away for me and the food really just wasn't anything special other than having really great descriptions. I'm all in support of the farm to table concept but it just didn't seem to deliver a good value to me here. The prices here also don't include any service other than placing your order at the counter and then having your food brought out to you. My sandwich, soup and iced tea were North of $20 so at that price I'm in range of a fine dining establishment where I can eat a harder to prepare dish with full service while I can very easily and quickly make my own sandwich, tea and soup far cheaper. The breakfast items seem to really be more of the focus here than the sandwiches so if you're a breakfast food lover this place might satisfy you. This might turn into the Cochon Butcher of Metairie I guess but for my money they need to tweak the portion sizes or the prices. With their current business model I'm afraid Blue Line won't offer any temptation to me to join them again for lunch when their delicious neighbor Chateau du Lac offers me so much more at a similar price point.

A great experience overall. Went with my fiancé and 2 year old son and had a wonderful time. The staff and the patrons alike are all very nice people. The staff was attentive to the tables and very quick about bussing your dishes when you're finished. My fiancé had the "corn beef and hash hatch", my son, the mini pancakes from the kids menu, and myself, the "duck duck goose waffle". All the food tasted very fresh and delicious and was presented beautifully, (even the corn beef! Lol). Needless to say, despite the prices being a little higher than most, it was well worth it and I will be returning and spreading the word about this new and yummy experience!

Excellent breakfasts. The waffles and biscuits are great. Quick, friendly service and bar available.

I would give it a five,if table service were available. I don't get to do brunch often,so I enjoy table service. The food was great, staff super friendly and the cilantro infused vodka for bloody Mary was incredible. They had a bloody Mary bar which lacked a bit, but would suffice. Maybe add limes, lemons and other veggie options, but that's personal preference.I would def. Recommend

The best- wait staff is supremely attentive and is constantly checking up on you and your status. They made good recommendations from the breakfast menu and made sure to thank us for coming in. The good- the food is good, but unfortunately it's really difficult to knock breakfast sandwiches out of the park. The cochon biscuit was fantastic but was served a little bit cold. Grits are good but certainly nothing to write home about. The not so good- wait time for food was lengthy during a busy Saturday brunch time, but we made due with a few cups of coffee and good conversation. Will definitely recommend to friends in the area and looking forward to trying lunch!

Great place to stop for lunch. Had the chicken salad sandwich with duck and mushroom gumbo. The chicken salad was a little dry, but the chicken was spiced perfectly. The gumbo was on point!
(4)Dustin A.
The food here is great, I have only eaten breakfast here and would highly recommend it to anyone. The service is with a smile and you can certainly tell the owners take great pride in their food and shop. Go try it!!!

What a great place! The staff was great, they had a bloody mary bar set up, and the parking is easy. We had the duck hash with waffles , fried duck eggs, and warm cane syrup. The one thing most places get wrong in this area are grits some places use quick grits and some make them bland and thin. This place knows grits! They are rich, slow cooked , and full of flavor! Everything from the coffee to the cochon de lait biscuits were outstanding. Cant wait to go back!
(5)Anthony A.
This place was outstanding! It is a hidden gem right along Metairie Road that is worth visiting. My friend actually described it as "adorable." She got the duck waffle and I got a bacon and egg pressed panini with fresh fruit. Both meals were delicious. I definitely recommend this place for brunch.
(5)Lindsay F.
Fabulous spot on Metairie Rd. Brad and his staff are so friendly and helpful. Both lunch and breakfast food are yummy. Plus the servings are large enough to share.
(5)Pete B.
Tried Blue Line for breakfast one day. Food was good, service was ok and the chef came out to check on and talk to people. But it was a $20 breakfast. It's hard to justify $20 for eggs, bacon and grits. Good but too expensive to go back frequently.
(2)Tommy D.
Everything we had was delicious. The breakfast panini was perfect. The People were friendly and personable. We will definitely be back!
(5)Ford D.
After hearing about this place my dad and I thought we would try it out. I got the panini sandwich and my dad got the shrimp tacos. This will be our last time there. I had to take out a telescope to find the meat on my sandwich! We both ate our meals, but we both left very unsatisfied and still hungry. The food is in the OK-good range, not great. What it really boils down to is this is the kind of place where you would go if you were a housewife meeting up with your girlfriends for a lunch date.
(2)Erica B.
This place was great! Nice to have another brunch alternative on Metairie Road.
(4)Helen L.
I went there for breakfast: The food was very basic. Fair at best. The service was fair. The parking was plentiful. They opened in December and could use some help. They only offered regular brewed coffee and iced coffee. Tea and juices. The beverage me u was very limited...no cappuccino! I ordered their light and healthy dish. It was very light. The eggs, tomatoes and asparagus were very bland. The fruit was fresh though. The experience was ok. Sorry but I will not return.

This is a hidden gem in Old Metairie New Orleans. The place is only open until three on weekends and two, Tuesday through Friday. The food is fresh and tasty and the owner, Brad, is always there greeting customers and working right along side the staff. I've been twice now and would go back readily. The combo of good food and neighborhood friendliness is a recipe for good times all around!
(5)Eric M.
Very small quaint restaurant. Went there for a late Sunday breakfast. We were able to get a table for 5, but they filled up quickly. I wanted the grillades and grits, but they weren't serving them. I had the duck waffles which were delicious!!! The waffles were really good.
(5)Jim F.
It was a lunch of silence. Delicious silence. Utter enjoyment. I heard about this place the other day from a friend, and I decided to try it out today. Upon arriving, I pursued the menu, and while not large, it was packed with good eats. I got the cochon de lait biscuits with grits and my friend got the duck duck waffles. Both were well prepared and fantastic. I have found it hard to get good biscuits and gravy, but not here. So good. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Christine H.
Their food is great. Especially the pancakes and panini. I would highly recommend this location
(5)Cornelious A.
This place is a nice but nothing fantasy. Three breakfast menu is small but the food was good. The establishment in clean and the staff was polite. The restrooms are tiny-tiny almost scary, but overall my visit here was great!
(3)Lindsey C.
The kale caesar salad with grilled chicken was refreshing! Good size, not too big or too small. However, at $9 a salad I'm fine but an additional $4 for what little chicken I received - I was a bit disappointed.
(4)Kathleen M.
Just had lunch and really enjoyed it! I ordered the grilled chicken BLT, which was delicious on the brioche bun. The house salad was a great compliment to the meal. Would definitely go back and I look forward to try something new! I am sure it won't disappoint.
(4)Peter V.
Went there for breakfast this morning, staff was great...food was even better! Highly recommended! We will definitely be back to try the lunch menu!!

Blue Line Sandwich Co. Is the perfect brunch spot in Metairie! Something for everyone even if you don't like breakfast. The coffee is addicting from French Truck. The owner/chef uses fresh ingredients to bring indulgent dishes like the Cochon de Lait biscuit and St. Patty's day Massacre to life. He's got something for the health nuts too with fruit and a light and healthy breakfast of egg whites and asparagus. Great for kids too, no judgement as they run around!
