I love Italian food. I love it so much that I gorge every time I eat it. Fortunately, Olive Branch feeds you well. It just seems to be a little on the bland side. Ample servings almost make up for that. Another issue is that when I place an order for pick-up, the garlic cheese bread which is included with the entrees has been forgotten. This unfortunate mistake has happened 3 of the last 5 times that I have ordered to-do.

Delicious food . The waitress was a bit terrible but the food and atmosphere is worth it! Try the Mediterranean wrap!

Visiting the Olive Branch is always a pleasure! I almost always order the Lasagna, which is always delectable and piping hot. They also have pizzas, salads, calzones, and other types of pasta as well. The decor is very simple, but there are pretty lights near the entrance. My waitress was also very nice. Our entrees came with garlic bread, which was quite tasty. My sister and my mom ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the Eggplant Parmesan respectively, which they enjoyed greatly! The portions were massive! Also, the prices are very fair. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my meal, and I definitely would recommend this place to anyone seeking scrumptious Italian food!

Excellent service, texture, temperature, quality of food to perfection. All freshly made not proceeded. They have discounts on menu meals.servers are knowledgeable, helpfully suggestive on personalizing my dish ,and friendly.(Austin) I mentioned I wanted Becky's Pasta but did not like the saids , he suggested A 1/2 marinara because that was my preference, and 1/2 Alfredo sauce because that's the sauce for Becky's Pasta Dish , that worked out very well. if on A diet this could be A good decision for maintaining that lifestyle .the best part is that The Olive Branch gives back to its community. (Giving free school supplies for families that are overwhelmed. There may be more that is unknown to me.)

Food is great. The wait staff leaves something to be desired however. We've visited twice now and both times it has taken over 10 minutes just to get a drink order. If the food wasn't so good, I would not recommend visiting.

This is a very nice italian place that I go to when my other favorites in Marrero are closed or too crowded. Not to say that this place isnt good, its very good. They have a few nice gourmet pizzas on the menu as well as the typical strombolis and salads. Also some good dishes. The menu doesnt reflect the daily offerings, there is a dry erase board that has daily specials along with off menu items. Dont miss that because the few times I strayed from the yummy pizza and tried a special, it was really good. This place was a old Godfathers Pizza, so the layout hasnt changed much but the decor has. The staff is very friendly and patient. They are geared up for kids too. A very kid friendly restaraunt with coloring pages and crayons available. I'll add to this review later. I noticed that there was suprisingly no review of this location and wanted to pass the word on that it is a nice place. I posted a few pics for your enjoyment

This place is awesome. I've come here twice and each time I've gotten awesome food. Each time I've gotten the spinach and artichoke dip that is hot and delish. I've tried their pasta jambalaya and the Cajun trio pasta. Each was rich with flavor and pretty big portions too. They also bring out this awesome cheese bread pizza thing with your order that goes perfectly with the meal. This place is great Italian food in Marrero!

Well, now I'm really confused, because I was certain I wrote a review for the Olive Branch. Guess not. Anyway, it's a little hole-in-the-wall inside of a Marrero strip mall. This is close to my house, so it's convenient for a dinner out. A MAJOR plus is that they have cheap dinner specials on Mon-Wed (posted on the board when you walk inside) and they often have coupons posted on their website. I like good food, but I like good food even more when I save money! The service can be a little slow at times. If you are in a big hurry, they do have takeout available, so you can call ahead. Otherwise, sit and enjoy the atmosphere. It's casual, so sit back and relax :) The chicken pesto pizza is amazing. You can make any of their pizzas into a calzone, if you prefer. The hummus is also a great appetizer (if you don't like olives or feta, you might want to order it without those). Oh, and the kids menu. Such a great bargain. $1 for a kids drink, and $5 for a kids meal. You can choose either fettuccini, spaghetti, quesadilla, or ham & cheese. All of these are huge portions, so there are usually leftovers. This is fantastic for when the little one doesn't agree with my choice of pizza toppings. If you live on the Westbank, this is definitely worth a trip over to my 'hood to eat some good Italian food.

I visited this restaurant on 11-19-14 for lunch and was waited on by Casey. She gave me a menu and took my drink order. After that, I waited approximately 20 minutes for her to take my order. It wasn't busy at all. Two men walked in awhile after me and she took their order first. They even got their food before my order was taken. She even cleaned tables, checked on her other tables, and chatted with the other waitresses before taking my order. I've been to this restaurant several times before and have never had such terrible service. I eventually had to summon her to me and I told her no one has taken my order and that I had been waiting; and her response was "I've been waiting on you." I felt that was kind of ironic since all of her other tables got asked if they were ready to order within five minutes of sitting down. I don't usually complain, but I was treated so unfairly, I felt compelled to write this review. This was definitely the last time I'll be going to this restaurant.

My wife turned me on to this little place. After a few times, I have come to realize that you can't have a bad meal here. I love the wraps and my wife loves the pizza. Their hummus was a surprise as I had it for the first time a few days prior to this review. Their prices are good, the tea is fresh and they make a very respectable spinach and artichoke dip. Give this place a try.

Moved out of state for a few months and when my family came to visit the number one thing I requested was a jar of the Caesar dressing from Olive Branch. It seriously is the best thing I've ever tasted in this world and it never gets old. I have to get the Chicken Caesar Salad every time I visit the restaurant. Amazing service and amazing food await me every time I come here. Definitely a must to eat at if you ever visit New Orleans.

This is my parents neighborhood Italian cafe and I never miss a meal at da branch! The Olive Branch as a secret weapon...it's the hummus. I would consider myself a connoisseur of the chickpea puree with all of the tastings I've done...and with an accompaniment of lots of feta, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, and warm pita it's already scored serious points with me. But wait...there's more...it's not oily at all and there's a hint of spice...what is that? Is it a spicy red pepper? I haven't figured it out yet...guess that means I need to keep tasting. The pizzas are also quite delish! The ingredients are fresh and it's a good doughy hand-tossed pie...that's not greasy either. Take my advice and go with the wheat, it's so tasty!! The prices are low and the food is plentiful...just the way they do it in Italia. Ballissima!

me and my sister ate here for lunch. i like the look of the place it had art painted on the wall and tables covered with a gray/leather tablecoth not white eventhought its kind of a casual place with a tv and small mini-bar. i was really happy with my food cuz i had the breadsticks with marinara sauce. to me 1 sign of a good italian restaurant is good marinara which this place had. then i had the shrimp and corn bisque but it wasnt your normal bisque cuz it had chunks of potato in it more like a chowder. My entree i had was the eggplant parmesan poboy which was 1 of the specials for the day. it was disappointing. it came out cold and it suffered from the too much breading cant taste the main ingredient issue. my sis. chicken parmesan came out piping hot. my sis was disappointed in her chicken parmesan cux it was cut up small chunks of chicken breast not your normal breaded chicken whole breast type. on another positive note the portions were huge!! lol i didnt expect to hear country music playing at an italian restaurant either.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
