Love this family owned restaurant and Ms. Marie! Great po-boys and muffulettas. Everything I've ever had here deserves five stars. They pepper their shrimp just like I do which makes it taste homemade. Next time I'm here I'm trying their artichoke which seems to be garlicky cheesy heaven. Everything is fresh and made to order.

Probably one of the best roast beef poboys in all of New Orleans area. In a strip mall and easy to miss. They use wrought iron table and chairs which are not the least bit comfortable but the food definitely makes up for it. Have been here many times and tried may different items and have never been disappointed.

Good food and good service!! Since moving to the West Bank, my husband and I have been trying to find decent, if not good, places to eat. Well, we found our po'boy spot!! I had the fried catfish and my husband had the roast beef. It was love at first bite for me! I've never had a po'boy where the crust of the bread was so crunchy and didn't tear up the roof of my mouth! The catfish was piping hot, with a nice, battered outside and flaky fish on the inside. The roast beef in my husband's sandwich tasted like somebody's grand-mama made roast beef early that morning and let it cook low and slow all day. We also had an order of the fresh-made onion rings. Initially we had ordered 2 orders of onion rings, but the manager (I think she was the manager) said "You'll only need one order of onion rings." And boy, was she right!! The order is so big and so shareable but so good, you won't want to share. While the food and service was top-notch, I had to deduct a star because the floor in the dining area was quite sticky. Sticky enough that my sandals pulled away from my feet pretty hard. I'm guessing it was sticky as a result of the self serve area with water and sweet tea and can easily be remedied by taking that area away or using a mat on the floor at that table to catch any spills. But on the plus side, the restrooms (the ladies' room, at least) were clean and did not lack the essentials (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.) We got a menu on the way out because we will definitely be visiting them again!!

I have delivered to this place frequently. The kitchen and back room are very clean so I decided to eat there. I always get the artichoke poboy. It is probably the best poboy I have ever had. Owners are hands on and very nice.

Just finished the most delicious roast beef poboy I've had in a long time. The bread was just crispy and sturdy enough to hold together a fantastic slow-cooked beef sandwich that is perfectly seasoned. It was so good that next time I will get the largest size. I highly recommend it.

First let me say that I have always been in search of the best homemade roast beef sandwich and Chateau Orleans PO-boys has the best Roast Beef sandwich- hands down- in the city ! Actually, I would say it's perfect ! Full of flavor, juicy, fall apart tender, Awesome ! Second, they have an amazingly large selection on their menu! Where else can you order a Taco Po-boy, Fried Artichoke Po-boy or a Greek sandwich with fried pickles on the side? Third, This is a family owned restaurant. The owners and staff are very down-to-Earth friendly ! They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. You just don't get that kind of service at a large food chain! Lastly, My whole family just loves this place. My brother says they have the best meatball po-boy in town and my eight year old daughter is completely in love with the Greek sandwich and loves to talk to Mrs. Marie! Thank you for giving my family a wonderful experience every time !

Not sure but think that maybe the sandwich you are referring to is the Greek sandwich and I love it. Yes it is not for everyone but neither is Greek food. I have always loved the food but I go prepared to wait even if I did call ahead. It's not mcdonalds. I and willing to wait for the food that satisfies so much as they do. The roast beef is wonderful, just like ya mama makes, yummy and messy! Ordered trays of sandwiches for Christmas eve and everyone commented on how good they were!

this the best roast beef on the west bank! but try the taco poboy!

My 1st time here I had the roast beef poboy very good very tasty just not enough gravy for me I like it rolling down my arms no long sleeves. Fried pickles were excellent. 2nd time roast beef poboy again it was good just not as tender as the 1st one. Fried pickles were very salty and very tart I don't know if they did not drain them enough and then added more salt but way too salty. 3rd time got 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 oyster poboy the shrimp were spot on my husband said his oyster side was really good fried just right not too much not too little.

Sandwiches are made fresh, so you wait 30 minutes for a Hamburger. Does it "really" take 30 minutes to make a roast beef po-boy, or a deli sandwich like a ham & Swiss? I think not. They are understaffed, especially during the lunch rush. There can be groups of 4-5 pour in one after the other. Call in your ahead of time at orleanspoboy.com and hopefully you won't have to wait 30 mins, or with my luck, almost 45 minutes for a ham & Swiss when the cashier is 1)taking orders, 2)filling orders, 3)taking phone orders, and 4)yacking with her boyfriend and 5) working the register. It's hard to get anything done when you have to tackle that to tackle.... The first time I went there and the owner was working the front telling me how disneyworld wanted her to open there. Now I know why she declined. If she had to deal with the slacker kids nowadays she would not be able to run one business effectively much less two. As a previous domino's manager the mantra has been engrained in her head..... "30 minutes or less"--but they don't sell pizza. They make sandwiches. They should observe mother's on poydras st. during a lunch rush to see how people walk by like picadilly and get served as fast as they walk no matter what they order... Then they would make $ome real bank..

OMG out of this world. Being out of towners ( CA ) we Didn't know what to expect but it was delicious. We got meat pies, onion rings, shrimp and bbq beef po boys and hush puppies. All amazing, even if we did get a little teasing for being from out of town

My assessment after one visit: Yummy food, no-frills, casual ambience. Great roast beef poboys, debris style with gravy and excellent toasted bread. Good oyster poboy, not great, small oysters, not the best. Excellent battered onion rings. YUM! Uncomplicated restaurant with small dining area to seat approximately 30 people. Cold, uncomfortable, wrought iron tables and chairs. Distracting TV overhead. Place order at counter upon entering. Seat yourself at table. Food brought to you. Eat and enjoy. Good place to dine if going to or coming from Jean Lafitte National Park.

I think I found the best pivots on the West Bank! Roast Beef was perfect, only thing better was the BBQ Beef! Mayo to meat ratio was perfect. And as my wife said "she would eat anything on the Bread".

Amazing. I had heard about this place over and over again and I don't think I realized that it was so close to me! I decided that I needed to go in and try one of their po boys right away. I decided to order the roast beef. I usually go for seafood, and I was delighted to see that they had fried oyster on the menu. The roast beef po boy was amazing. I got the 8 inch which was plenty enough for a lunch and I had a little left over. As a side I got fried pickles ($2) that were crispy and fresh and so good. I was satisfied with the meal and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I will definitely be back because I am anxious to try the oyster po boy.

The roast beef sandwich here has a good flavor but it took only one napkin to clean up after and it seemed a bit light on the meat. The New Orleans style French bread from Hi-Do Bakery seems a bit different than most other breads used by po boy places and gave the sandwich a bit of a unique texture. This place is very much out of the way for me so although it isn't a bad drive and the restaurant is located on a major Westbank thoroughfare it was still a long way to go for a sandwich. The ambiance and location are not very stimulating as this place is located in a bland suburban strip mall and is saddled with all the stereotypes that brings while the inside appears very clean it doesn't convey much personality. The staff seemed nice enough but the ordering experience just seemed more like a fast food place than a typical New Orleans po boy experience. The menu also had some interesting looking daily specials that seemed worthwhile of checking out if you aren't in a sandwich mood. Overall I really wouldn't ever go out of my way again to go all the way out here to eat but if I were in the area I would certainly return.

I've had the hamburger p o boy it was good. If you order the roast beef it's always better when u eat it there. Cause it's better when it's just made. Just be careful w roast beef . My husband once was eating a roast beef p o boy and thankfully he didn't swallow what he found in it. A piece of a plastic spoon. It was a thick piece but if he would of swallowed it , it would of torn him big time. It would of been bad. The owner apologized and offered us another p o boy.

I work down the road from Chateau Orleans Po-boys, and it's a great place to pick up affordable, tasty food. While I've tried quite a few of their sandwiches, my favorite is the turkey on bun. It's tasty. It fills you and it's healthy(if you don't get mayo on it). The fried pickles are another favorite from the menu. I love their saltiness! Try them! Be careful about managing your lunchtime. They are usually full and it takes a while to get your order. If you have the time, then wait it out.

I am forever on a quest for the best roast beef poor boy in the area. After reading the Nola article several months ago and Marielle S.'s review, I knew I needed to try Chateau Orleans. Chateau Orleans is somewhat out of my way for lunch. Located on Barataria near Lafitte Larose, it took me around 20 minutes to get there. I called my order in while en route and it was ready in the time they stated on the phone. I normally judge a poor boy restaurant on their roast beef and gravy fries. Because this location had fried pickles, I opted for those in place of the fries. I enjoyed the fried pickles, but think the pickles were too thinly sliced. Since they were so thin, some of the pieces were too crispy. If they had started with a slightly thicker slice of pickle, the finished product may have been more juicy. The roast beef poor boy was good, but not spectacular. I thought the beef had a good, homemade taste, but the bread was lacking. It was so crispy that biting into it caused shards of sharp bread to poke the roof of my mouth. While I can't be certain I suspect the bread may have been overly toasted. At only $11 for the pickles and large poor boy, my meal was a very good value. I did enjoy my poor boy and would be willing to return if I am in the area. If you work or live close by, I think you should give it a try.

Yummy; ) have eaten here I think 4 times now and im still on the fence. I have had the roast beef mostly and had the hot sausage once. Nothing special there, just a Patton patty. The bread, being from Hi Do in Terrytown does set them apart quite a bit. Back to the roast beef. Almost shredded like, or like a debris. It is good, though almost bland. Not in a bad way, just seems like its missing something. Maybe not enough pickles? The eat in experience is nice, no frills really. Outdoor furniture for tables and its a serve your self on tea refills which is very tasty. Think open floor plan with a few partitions and painting pretty things on the walls. The shrimp poboys are good. Much better than just the cheaper places nearby. Again, I think its the bread they use. Service is pretty fast, not too long a wait, but I usually call in ahead of time. Also the sometimes are a cash only deal, depending if the machine is working. I recommend it, 3 1/2 stars I recommend the roast beef
