Splendid little shop with superb cuisine. The Raspberry Razzmatazz was delicious, and the strawberry, turkey panini was a thrill for the taste buds with pepper jelly and silky, melted Brie. I would gladly visit again and ask for Belinda. She provided excellent recommendations and was superbly attentive to my party's needs.

A little gem filled with an enoumous menu of exotic teas from all over the world. Tea rooms that are decorated with superb style and inspired by a world travler to compliment the many flavors you'll find here. If that wasn't enough, the staff took delicate time to teach us about the different teas and have detailed info to help you choose, including interative displays so you can smell and see them up close before deciding. They also have different daily samples avaible for free. Truly surprised, pleasantly I should add, of finding a place like this in Mandeville. It's an experience to remember and a must repeat.

For the unaware, there is another listing on Yelp for this same restaurant, if you look it up. It's the same exact place, just a different page with more reviews. Now, on with my review: This is my favorite restaurant/tea house and has been for years. It's such a unique, cute place, and I always make sure to come here at least once when I'm in town. I am saddened to leave a less than excellent review. Despite my love for this place, I admit it needs a little cosmetic work - maybe laminate the menus to minimize the tea/food stains, some general landscaping, and other minor details that would really make it a perfect experience overall. As it stands, things come off as haphazard. I understand eclectic, but that doesn't mean you forget cleanliness. My main reason for leaving this review, and the reason for four stars instead of the five I want to give this place, is the bizarre experience I had during my last visit. Now, when coming here usually, service can be a little scatterbrained and they are often out of certain things on the menu. This time, they were out of two things, and messed up an order about three times; first, they came out with the wrong dish, then a different lady came back with a simple sandwich on a plate to present to the other person at my table, when it was supposed to come with a salad, and then when they finally came back with the corrected dish, it was missing the salad dressing it was supposed to come with in the first place. I will also add the grilled cheese that came with the dish was the kind you could make at home in a minute, not the usual (and delicious) gourmet grilled cheese; menu was misleading. The topper was when I accidentally spilled water all over myself, the table, and my food. I somehow managed to place the cup of water on a part of the table which was elevated higher than the other part, and though this flaw was hidden to the naked eye, spilling the water was my mistake. The infuriating part is that one of the young ladies who was sitting behind the waitress stand the entire time we ate looked over as soon as the spill happened and I was completely and totally drenched, and then went back to what she was doing, completely ignoring me. Apparently, she was going to wait for my normal waitress to come back to help, even though she was a foot away. Totally rude and unprofessional; I don't know if it was because she is just ignorant or takes pleasure in another woman being embarrassingly drenched in water, but regardless, it's unacceptable. I refrained from bringing this up there to avoid making a scene. So all in all, I still love this place because it has the best tea, a cozy, fun atmosphere, and is a unique place to get generally good food. However, service can be lacking and the food is a hit or miss, oftentimes.

Am I really the first person to review this fantastic place? Unbelievable! Before you can understand my love of Vianne's, you must first know a few things about me: * I am a tea snob. (a boyfriend used to call my beverage "snobby tea" while he sipped his frap-a-whatsit) Usually a purist, with a strong preference for the tried and true Earl Grey. * I am a die-hard Janeitte. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, it means I adore the entire body of work of Ms. Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice? Yes, please! * There is at least a small part of me that remains a country girl at heart. * I love hats. LOVE THEM. Have about a million. Okay, now on to Vianne's. I was planning my birthday party last year, when a friend recommended we have high tea at Vianne's. Being an uptown girl, I don't make it to the North Shore that frequently, and had never heard of Vianne's before. So I called to ask a few questions and book my party. That was the first time I spoke to Keri. Keri owns and operates Vianne's, and is pretty spectacular. She answered all my questions, was very friendly, and I booked the party right away. On Sunday, we all piled into cars and made the trek over to Old Mandeville. It was a gorgeous day, and that area is so pretty in the spring . . . you drive around right by the lakefront to get there, and it's just a fantastic drive. When we pulled up, I squealed, because Vianne's is just the cutest place you will ever want to see. Perfectly quaint and charming! We walked in, and were greeted by Keri. Before showing us to our own private tea room (we had the Oriental Tea Room during that particular visit, but I think I like the Russian Room the best!), she let us pick out "fancy lady hats" to wear during high tea. I picked the most off-the-wall hat I could find, and it looked adorable. We did the big package, and I honestly can't remember what exactly it entails, but we got several pots of tea, scones, savories, and deserts. The teas are enough to reduce this tea snob to tears of joy, and the scones are absolute scene stealers! Keri's husband mans the kitchen, and he makes the best scones I've ever had in my LIFE. And the clotted cream! And the lemon curd! Could you just die from the happy? The answer is yes. Yes, you could. My all-time favorite discovery at Vianne's combines my tea snobbery with my love of all things Austenian. "Mr. Darcy's Tea" is a rooibos (red tea) blend, with notes of chocolate, rose petals, and features little sugar hearts! (I'm missing some components, but you get the idea) It is DELICIOUS, and totally seduced me away from my old faithful Earl Grey. Now, since I live a good 45 minutes away from here, I am very lucky that Keri sells loose tea in the little shop attached to the tea salon! Reasonably priced, awesome selection, and all the accoutrement you could possibly desire. I don't know about you, but I completely dig an establishment where the owner is part of the package . . . part of this experience is definitely hanging out with Keri and shooting the breeze (when it isn't too busy in there!) . . . our group had a lot to talk about with her, because in addition to operating my favorite tea salon EVER, she also founded and runs the Jane Austen Festival in Old Mandeville every year (it's actually this weekend, but work is preventing me from going. Boo!). They serve regular old lunch here too. I've never been here wanting to do anything but high tea, but I imagine if I lived closer, I'd be trying out lunch pretty frequently. If the scones are any indicator, I'll bet it's delicious! In summation of this LONG ASS review: Best day trip EVER. Best tea EVER. Best hostess EVER. If I could hug a business, this would be the one.

This is my favorite place to visit while in Mandeville, my favorite relaxing vacation town in Louisiana. Vianne's tea shop is like if you were still that 6 year old girl having a tea party with your play set and dolls-- but instead real tea with plenty of selection, real scones that are delicious I might add, & real people albeit my husband, father, & brother that I dragged along. We sat in the Turkish room and my childhood dreams came true! The scones come with dipping sauces that are every bit amazing, and i couldn't just pick one tea so I got one iced and one hot. I also couldn't go here just once so of course we went back and loved it just as much. This place is perfectly adorable. I wish there was one of these in every town- the world would be a much better place!
