Good Chinese food at a decent price. No frills here. The interior might even scare some away. But I go here for the food, not the atmosphere. There's a few tables to dine in but this is mainly a take out restaurant. Like many of these small Chinese restaurants, it is family owned and operated. The kids that work the counter are always polite and courteous. Everything is prepared to order and served piping hot. The egg rolls are your basic egg rolls. My favorites include the shrimp fried rice, dumplings, Kung Pao chicken and the chicken noodle soup. Call in your order to have it ready when you arrive. Even if you don't, most of the time I wait no longer than 10-15 minutes for the food to be prepared.

Tried them about 2 months back and wasn't really impressed with them. There was no great flavor in the food and the won tons were stale tasting. At first I was fine with it but the more I kept on eating the more I just wasn't a fan.

Most of the reviews here are old and based on previous owners, so I'm going to add my 2 cents. This is some of the best Chinese I have had. The new menu is fantastic. I highly recommend the Singapore Chicken and I really like their crab Rangoon and shrimp toast. I haven't had anything subpar here. The hot and sour soup is excellent. That's how I usually judge Chinese food places btw, on the quality of their hot and sour soup, LOL. The prices are low and the quality is high. Give them a try, you won't regret it.

Thought I would write a new review on this place since the most recent one is from summer of last year. From what I understand this place is under a new owner. Ok first as the old saying goes..."don't judge a book by its cover" stands true here. This place may not look like much but rest assured the food is really good. We got beef egg food young, fried dumplings and large combination rice. Egg foo young was good and similar to the other places. I really liked the gravy that came with it. The dumplings and fried rice here we liked better then some of the other places we tried. One thing the bean sprouts in the rice made it extra tasty. Also I want to mention the food seemed less sodium laden then some of the other Chinese places i've ate at. Prices are about the same as other Chinese places of its kind. Menu is a good size and lots of items to choose from. There are tables so you can eat inside. Also they have bottled drinks like many others. So in a summary, if you are out in Mandeville and want pretty good Chinese take out, Kowloon should fill the bill. Oh last thing the parking lot is not the best so watch out for pot holes.

Went on 6/9/14 place was 95 degrees inside. Been under new management for 5 months. Had mandarin chicken and moo goo Gai pan. After walking in and seeing the nastiness of the place i was sorry i did a phone order. Mandarin was edible. Not the moo goo gai pan. Processed pieces of chicken that were rubbery like. Never walk in the place again. I can only imagine how nasty the kitchen must look.

The food here is a good value. The food tasted better than I expected based on the low prices. We got hot & sour soup, egg drop soup, the sesame chicken, and the Kung Pao chicken. All dishes were very good. However, the egg roll and the fried rice that came with the meal were both bland.

Good take-out food at a decent price. The garlic chicken is good, but you may want to ask them to cut back on the cabbage.

Broccoli and beef was tasteless and the beef was had the texture of beef jerky. The rice was hard and bland (came with a real small portion as well).

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
