This place has the worst service ever!! Waited for over an hour for food then when they brought the food out it was the wrong food then when we informed the waitress it was wrong she argued with me that it wasn't. Like I don't know what I ordered. Bad service!!!!!! Slow service!!!!! Fail!!

We are trekking around Louisiana knowing not a soul and trying to find places to go to from Yelp and maps. So the reviews have helped and I'm grateful. So I'll do it too. We stopped here on Monday and it was not very busy. The waitresses and staff were very polite and helpful. I suggest you try the Crawfish Cheesy Bread. Oh my. It was delicious!!! Even the kids loved it. My daughter really liked her grilled Chicken Po'boy and my Creole Étouffée was pretty good. I'm not a fan of seafood but I had to try the local foods to get a real feel of Louisiana. I have had a good time trying new things.

Let me start by saying that people I often find myself eating lunch with love this place. I do not. Service isn't great and often forgetful and can sometimes even be surly. Food is mediocre at best. I've unfortunately found myself here more times than I'd like and therefore have tried numerous menu items. Even with all the different items I've tried, nothing has ever caught my attention enough that I'd have it a second time. I'm told that Kathy's chicken salad is very good, but she's never had it the times I've been there so I can't comment on that. There are just too many restaurants near here that are so much better. I want to like this place because the owner is often there and seems nice, but I just don't.

Stopped in yesterday had gumbo and half a poor boy sandwich ham and Swiss. Great all around.

Food was just OK. The seafood platter was a disappointment...6 shrimp, 6 oysters, 3 catfish strips and one stuffed crab for $22. Crab was very bland and had way more bread/stuffing than crab. Fish and oysters were coated in corn meal which I don't like.

WOW, the only thing netter then the food was the service. A must taste in Mandeville.

The overall service was good although the time to receive our food was pretty lengthy. We went during the lent season. The appetizers were pretty good. I should have stopped at the appetizers. The seafood was not what I expected (as far as how it was fried). It was in cornmeal batter and was overcooked. I may give it another try and get something other than seafood.

So I finally visited here yesterday after work with my family. I don't see what all the 5 stars is about. K-Gee's is good, but not 5 star good. I had the stuffed eggplant wish was excellent. Lots of shrimp and crab meat. Served very hot. Wife had the grilled shrimp with potatoes. She complained about having raw garlic sprinkled on top of the potatoes instead of having the garlic cooked into the potatoes. She also thought the shrimp were food service shrimp instead of fresh local shrimp. I didn't taste it so I cannot comment on it. The kid had the kid's catfish. He normally eats all his fish but only ate one of the three strips that he received. The french fries he received were definitely food service, can you say Sysco? They were good, just not made in house. Our appetizer was the tasso beignets. They were very good. I could have eaten three or four order and been happy. Service was good. There was one other family of four eating while we were there along with two guys sitting at the bar. Everything was brought to us promptly and our waitress was friendly. While this was a good experience, I just can't see how it has received 5 stars form the other reviewers. K-Gee's has good service, good atmosphere and quality food. Not top notch though. seemed a little pricey compared to other restaurants on the same level though.

K. Gee is a relatively new seafood restaurant in the space formerly occupied by Sweet Daddy's On this trip we ordered to-go food rather then eating in. We ordered a roast beef po-boy, seafood platter, a side of fries and a grilled cheese. The owner came out and was very cordial when the food was picked up. Although the fries weren't in the bag, the restaurant called and we returned and picked them up. I would have rather to not have had to drive back, but hey, it happens. The roast beef po-boy was very good. It was really one of the better roast beef po-boys I have had on the Northshore. The right amount of gravy (you'll need a bunch of napkins), meat and dressing really made this a great sandwich. The fries seemed homemade and were also great. The seafood platter had shrimp, oysters, fish and a stuffed crab. It came with a side of potato salad. It wasn't my entree but I tried the shrimp and fish. Both were good, but the shrimp were my favorite. I will have to try and come in for dinner and I will update my review.

Overall an average restaurant, a little overpriced for the quality of food. The staff is very friendly though.

Fantastic oysters, very fresh, excellently chucked. Service was great- prompt, knowledgable, and friendly. Felt very welcome

I've never been so rudely treated and didn't even get a chance to eat. Hostess sat us at a table that a waitress said was reserved. Instead of them working it out amongst themselves, two waitresses accused us of stealing the table. Needless to say, we left and won't be back. Asked to speak to owner but was ignored. If the owner wasn't there she better secure her establishment with better management.

This restaurant really stands out! Pecan crusted redfish was cooked perfectly, crisp, moist, not greasy and fantastic sauce on it. The only reason I give it a 4 is because the charbroiled oysters tasted more baked than charbroiled but they were very good. Service was also right on!!!

I have never actually physically visited this restaurant but have eaten the food twice thanks to Menu Express. Both times, the food was hot and delicious. I particularly love the tasso beignets and the BBQ shrimp - so much that it could actually feed 2! Each time to that I am in town, I intend to try another place, but I keep finding myself drawn back. Really reasonable prices as well!

This.place has a good feel to it. Food.is better when the owner is.cooking . I really like this place and it has some great food, but they tend to over season and it becomes a bit to salty. Wait.staff is very attentive.

Tuesday Special : BBQ shrimp were huge and so tasty. No sides needed but extra napkins are needed. Great homecooking food and friendly staff.

Pecan Crusted Redfish. A slab of tender fish perfectly fried with a light meunière sauce with a side of potato salad and it was absolutely delicious. My wife and I will both be back to run the menu but its going to be hard to top that meal. Service was friendly and enjoyable. Missed desert because I was stuffed.

We stopped in near closing time and were greeted warmly and given amazing tasty food. The loaded frips (homemade wavy potato chips) and the artichoke/spinach dip were both very tasty. My dining companion raved about the gumbo. A real gem to find while on the road near I-12.

Feels like you're at your momma's for dinner. Very friendly waitstaff. Food could have a little more flavor but wasn't bad. Would re-visit!

Brought the family to K.Gees for dinner. My 5 year old was super grumpy after being woken from a nap and my 8 year old son had a headache. It looked like it was going badly but the waitress worked with us to pull it back. The excellent food fixed everything. Every dish was "the best ever" and the whole family was thrilled. After dessert we couldn't have been happier. This meal pointed out how much the staff can improve the meal. You have to try it. The food is excellent and staff are tremendous.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was fresh and well prepared, the space was clean, and everyone in the place was super friendly. My wife and I each had a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo, which was fairly light but had decent flavor with big chunks of both meats. I had fried oysters which were a bit small but fried perfectly and my wife had dirty rice and sweet potato fries which she really enjoyed. The service was great, and we were made to feel very welcome. If your in the area give these nice folks a visit.
