I think this place is a bit overpriced with mediocre food. They need to add some vegan options.

Drove across the bridge from Metairie and discovered this place. Well worth the drive from there. Had an outstanding piece of rainbow trout with buttered crab on top, with asparagus and a potato cake. As a true southern man who has had rainbow trout come across his plate more times than can be counted, this ranks up in the top 3 best ever dishes. Take the time to drive up from NO for this wonderful place.

Cute Mandeville restaurant that has a old New Orleans vibe to it. Great date night spot. Sit inside or on the outdoor patio. My favorite menu item was the French onion soup. A little pricey but not too bad.

Finally got to dine at Byronz tonight. It had the feel of a upscale European cafe, which is what they were after, which was cool. Service was great. Adam, I guess was the manager, was very hands on and checked on us through out our dinner. The meal was great, but was rich and heavy, so expect to bring home leftovers. For those with kids: there is a kids menu, and kids eat free on Mondays!

We had a date night here and everything was amazing! Service was incredible and we sat outside and really enjoyed the vibe! We got the blue cheese chips... Obsessed! You won't be sorry. I got the turkey burger which is melt in your mouth and to die for! We definitely will be back!

This place is the best! It's in an amazing location and the food is great. Tuesday's are fantastic with their Martini Tuesday's with $3 martinis. Their pot roast is good, their salads are divine, and their cheese chips are so good! They have the best owners and wait staff. The only downfall is that their place is a little small. They should buy the closed down juice bar next door to expand their location so they can have a bigger bar area. Anyway, the food is good and it's one of my favorite restaurants in Mandeville.

Have eaten at this restaurant several times - good atmosphere, great staff, great food, smooth service. Definitely one of my family's go to restaurants on the north shore.

My family's favorite restaurant for food and drink. Food is fabulous and all are original creations. ..from their very popular homemade potato chips to ever changing seafood offerings to their famous Creole pot roast. Service is professional and attentive...bar staff make great drinks and price is Mandeville "market". Always take my out of town guest and hard core NOLA friends there....Love it! Perry T

Red fish was awesome! I also ordered carrot soufflé and it was divine! My hubby had the turkey burger due to rave reviews from others and it didn't let him down! Wonderful atmosphere and can't wait to go back

Took a ride from the SS to get away for a little bit and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and great food here! My wife loved it and the staff was incredibly friendly.

Ate here 3 weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised, the atmosphere is great, everyone was very friendly and professional waitress was excellent and the food was very good. The menu is very original with some family favorite dishes that were really tasty. Our waitress was Bobby and she was great considering we were a party of around 28 and everything went extremely smoothly. Would definitely recommend eating here.

Amazing food and service!! Try the trout with crab, so good!! Also, check out the cucumber martini. I'm obsessed.

Bistro Byronz is my restaurant of choice in Mandeville. Food, service, and all around vibe are excellent. The menu is diverse and includes salads, sandwiches, burgers, entrees and specialty items. Appetizing descriptions of each item appeal to all, which makes ordering easy for the picky eaters as well as the truly adventurous! Every time I eat here, someone orders the Bleu Cheese Chips. The Turkey Gruyere Burger is also a huge hit! My personal favorite is the Macaroni and Cheese with Bleu Cheese. I am on a quest to bring back the 4 Cheese Mac & Cheese Bake Special made with the white cheeses. It's so good I've actually tried to duplicate it in my own kitchen. Portion sizes are huge. I can never finish my meal and usually take home at least half of my order. Service is great here! The staff always treats me like a rock star, ok, well, maybe not a rock star, but definitely like a valued customer. Outstanding service is one of the things that keeps me coming back!

Nice little place! It's basically upscale bar food - but that's not a bad thing at all. The Byronz Burger is out of this world good. The Asian Chicken Salad is awesome - chunks of chicken breast surrounded by greens, avocado, and other good stuff in soy/ginger vinaigrette, In fact, the only thing on the menu that I have been less than pleased with was the drilled ahi tuna - it was lacking flavor - I have had much better. Oh well, you can't win them all... Also, there is a pretty good selection of wines by the glass. All in all, this is nice, casual place for pretty good dinner and a few drinks. I will be back!

Located in the Chenier development, Bistro Byronz is an upscale, yet casual restaurant. I had tried Byronz when they first opened and it was just OK. I decided to give them another try and was pleasantly surprised. We started with a couple off appetizers from their summer menu. Tomato Bruschette and Scallops with a jalapeno hollandaise. The tomato bruschette came with four pieces topped with cheese, herbs and a load of tomatoes. I am not a huge tomato fan, but the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. The three scallops were perfectly cooked and topped by a very tasty hollandaise. The scallops came with some mixed greens with vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was very good. For entrees we ordered sandwiches and split them. The Bistro Bomber was toast beef with horseradish and caramelized onions. It came on 7 grain bread and a side of cole slaw. The sandwich was juicy and very flavorful. We also tried the Blackened Blue sandwich. It consisted of two fillet tails with blue cheese. This sandwich was also very good, plus it can be cooked to order. Service was just OK. After we were seated there was a long delay in being greeted by our server. He was acceptable, but not great. The hostess, however, was very friendly and attentive. With two glasses of wine, a beer, our meals and two kids meals, the bill was $100 with tip and tax. Considering the quality of the ingredients, I felt that was fair. If you're in the area and want an more upscale, yet casual meal, Bistro Byronz is that place.

This weekend Todd and I checked out a restaurant here in Mandeville called Bistro Byronz. This place is located in the "higher end" plazas (as I like to call it) and the prices did reflect that. They were a little high for the food (almost $5 for a cup of soup) which is why I gave it 4 1/2 stars, but the food was excellent! The majority of the lunch menu was soups, salads and sandwiches which included some burgers. There were many sides to choose from like creamed spinach, fries, vegetable medley, and Zydeco pasta (I assume some kind of cold pasta side). The place is nicely decorated and classy. I was kind of disappointed there were whining kids in there. First off, why would you take your kids to a higher end bistro/bar?!? Secondly, if they are screaming and whining, leave the restaurant. Lucky for me it didn't last long. The waitress was great, very attentive and understood and explained the menu well. I started with a cup of Sweet Corn and Crab soup. This was just the right sweetness and creaminess for a soup. It came out quickly and hot too. For lunch I ended up with the Jr. Shrimp Louie for $8.95 with the 7 grain oat bun. I was happy they offered a Junior size. The regular size was only a dollar more but I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all. The shrimp was sauteed and then a creamy cajun dressing was added. It was like a higher end po' boy. The bread to filling ratio was perfect. Usually when I order a po'boy it's more bread than shrimp and kinda sucks. This one wasn't. Another good thing about it was I thought it'd be a big mess to eat, but it wasn't! I think this is another plus to the bread to filling ratio. Todd ordered the ByReuben, their take on the traditional Reuben sandwich. He also got the 7 grain oat bun, which was odd to us because it didn't come with the traditional bread for a Reuben, but he said it worked well and tasted great! Overall, our experience here was pretty good. I would definitely come back again. Maybe I'll save up some money and come during dinner! LOL. So I end this post with Bistro Byronz receiving 4 1/2 stars out of 5! Excellent restaurant!
(4)Heather H.
Atmosphere is upscale but, cozy. I especially like dining outside on the patio here. Lots of options here for me! They made substitutions for some items willingly. Must try: Seafood M. letta. The only reason I didn't do 5 stars is portions vs. $$$.
(4)Katy B.
This is a great little place and I've yet to have an un-enjoyable meal here. It is more upscale, so expect lunch for two to run anywhere from $20-$30 dollars. They're probably the last place around that still makes sure every table has ice water and I love the decor. Probably the best dish on the menu is the pot roast, which is why my husband orders it almost every time we go. I've ordered a variety of soups and salads and been pleased every time. As another commenter said, my husband said the Ahi Tuna was disappointing, so you probably want to skip that one. I have heard the iced vodka freezes are amazing, but I haven't gotten to try them, but I can imagine that an iced vodka freeze and some of their homemade fries would make a great meal at the bar.
(4)Mark S.
Well I've been there twice and have had really good meals both times. A few more visits might push me to give it a 5 star rating but for now it is with no doubt a solid 4 stars. The Cassoulet that I had was probably the best that I've eaten in quite some time. It is the classic French comfort food for me. I've also had the Chicken Paillard which was very good too. The Lemon Drop martinis that we had were well made too which is important to me. It shows the consistency of the establishment when the bar cocktails match the caliber of the food. The staff is quite friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We didn't have to wait for drinks to be refilled. I've been there twice for dinner and have not had anything off the lunch menu. Some weekend nights they have bands that play and on one night a band by the name of Bacon was playing (very good band) but they were quiet and not over powering. As for atmosphere it reminds me of the old New Orleans restaurants like Galatoire's. Prices are reasonable and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something a little off the familiar path of Northshore restaurants.
(4)Tanya D.
Upscale bar food. Homemade chips were really really decadent and good, especially covered in cheese. I had the Lent salad trio which was shrimp remoulade (good but almost too much horseradish for my taste, and I do like it), shrimp Louie (spicy creamy dressing)- which I liked a lot and a pasta salad that had a nice zesty dressing but the macaroni was undercooked, but who needed it anyway. This was all on a bed of spring mix and shredded iceberg and was enough food for two (shrimp made a good sandwich the next day) even without the pasta. My friend had shrimp and corn soup and it looked tasty and not gluey at all. The have salads, sandwiches, burgers and a few entree type things, even cassoulet. The strawberry breadpudding was nice and custardy with an addictive sauce but the whipped cream was off. The service was very fast and friendly and overall I can overlook the two kitchen faux pas. The happy hour looks promising so I would definitely try it again if I was in the mood for this kind of thing.

Let me preface my review with 2 facts: 1. I waited tables for about 10 years; my husband currently waits tables part-time. 2. My friend and I were STARVING (seriously, I nearly fainted) when we arrived. So, I've been to Bistro Byronz in Baton Rouge and it's okay. Nothing spectacular, nothing terrible. My friend and I were looking for a late lunch on the Northshore and someone suggested we check out B.B. The parking lot was completely empty when we pulled up, around 4 pm. Seeing a server arrive as we did, I asked if they were open. "Yeah, we are!" was her friendly reply. We were the ONLY patrons in the restaurant and it was some of the worst service EVER. The hostess appeared to resent the fact that we were there, grimacing when we asked for a different (smaller, next to a window) table. We were told our server would be "right with us." Not true. After sitting, ungreeted (my friend did tell me that a gentleman, who appeared to be a manager, made eye contact with her and walked away) for over 5 minutes, we began to look around. I noticed about 4 servers chatting behind the bar, and a girl sweeping the floor near us with headphones on. Finally, my friend asked this girl if we could get some drinks. They have a happy hour special from 3:30- 6:30, with 1/2 price glasses of wine (which is a great deal) so we ordered with this girl and began to feel even more uncomfortable since, here we were, smack dab in the middle of their happy hour. Finally a server brings our glasses of wine; I ask for water, which does not come after several minutes, prompting me to get up for the 1st time to ask for water from the bar. (After our meals arrived, our server brought us a water carafe). Our server was friendly, smiling, and did remark something like, "Sorry, we're in between shifts..." Honestly, I don't care who's on the clock and who's not- you GREET YOUR CUSTOMERS & GET THEM A BEVERAGE! We ordered immediately and it did feel like the food took awhile to come out, considering we both ordered grilled chicken. The food was pretty good; I had the asian chicken salad (too many crispy wontons) and some fries. I honestly don't remember if we were checked on during our devouring of the food, because all the other servers had disappeared as well. At some point, an older gentleman, who seemed to be a regular, had a seat at a table and had a beer. It didn't look like he waited long... So, we ask for the check and she's prompt with its delivery. At this point, we're both exhausted at how ridiculous it is to have poor service when we're 2 of 3 patrons in the dang place and we're ready to go. We wait at least 10 minutes while our server engages in a conversation with said older-beer-gentleman before I get up for the 2nd time and nearly walk into the kitchen to find someone to run our card. I go to the bathroom and wash my hands and when I'm done, our transaction still isn't finished, so I say to the guy (and hostess who's lingering nearby) "we're over there." She actually smirked at me! Ugh. I'm so aggravated. That place was ridiculous. I know sometimes it's easier when you're busy, but customers should never feel ignored. ESPECIALLY if they're the only ones! P.S. DO NOT order the CASSOULET. I've had it in B.R. and my friend has as well. That's a stomach ache waiting to happen, and it's not even that great going in.

Delicious food. Great drinks. I recommend the Turkey Burger, Sesame Crusted Tuna Salad, or the Grilled Rainbow Trout!

This was our first visit and we had our kids and grandma with us. We were in Mandeville for our son's soccer game and a friend had recommended the Bistro. We arrived early (approx 6:00 pm sitting) due to the game ending at 5:30 pm. The kids enjoyed the roast beef sandwiches and said they would order it next time. Grandma had the pot roast entree, my wife had the sesame crusted tuna salad and I had the lump crab & asparagus salad. We all declared our respective meals the best and sampled each others entrees. If we went again, we would probably order the same three entrees and sample each other's entrees again. Food and service were perfect and it was one of those dinner experiences that are hard to replicate. Added bonus was a band that started mid-way through dinner (Saturday night so not sure if this is every night). Not the typical three person band as they were playing music familiar to all of the family (Beatles songs, 70's classics, etc..) and it was amplified but not loud. While it remains a top on the family hit list, my wife and I plan on talking Grandma into babysitting the kids on a Saturday night, going back for dinner on a Saturday night (arriving later than 6:00), enjoying dinner and music then walking next door to the Wine Loft for a glass of wine prior to returning to the real world. Stay tuned for that review.

Wow! The turkey burger is definitely the best turkey burger I've ever had. We just moved to Mandeville from Southern California and we were so impressed with this place. Definitely a cute place for lunch or dinner. Great food and the manager was checking on every customer. What a nice guy! What a great place!

Was just okay. Hostess very friendly. Waiter just ok. Didn't offer any suggestions or recite the specials, and only when asked did he tell us of specials including rainbow trout with sweet potatoes and asparagus. We both swear the "rainbow trout" was actually salmon and I can assure you that the potatoes were white. However, all the food was good. Waiter defensive stating he never said the potatoes were sweet. Would try it one more time.

Atmosphere is upscale but, cozy. I especially like dining outside on the patio here. Lots of options here for me! They made substitutions for some items willingly. Must try: Seafood M. letta. The only reason I didn't do 5 stars is portions vs. $$$.

I think this place is a bit overpriced with mediocre food. They need to add some vegan options.
