Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I only put three stars due to the fact the service was good. For starters the salsa for the chips was horrible. I have had better salsa out of a jar. The food was okay at best large quantities for the price. The quality was mediocre at best. The beef was dry and was bland. The rice and beans were nothing special. The staff was prompt and courteous. The margarita had to of been a mix but was strong. All in all I would give this restaurant a 2.5 tops.

As a Mexican food lover, I was afraid moving to Louisiana from Texas would create a void in my Mexican cuisine cravings. Thank goodness I found this place!!! The chips and salsa are exactly how I like them. I get some to go every time. The burrito San Antonio is $8 and is two meals for me. All of the dishes are huge and could be shared and everything I've ever tried is delicious. The enchiladas are to die for. There's something on the menu for everyone. The staff are friendly and attentive. There are tvs in every view and free ice cream for everyone. We eat here often!!!

This place is awesome. The best Mexican food that I've found in Leesville (way better than Mexico Lindo) and the happy hour is 2 for 1 margaritas. The chips & salsa were delicious!

We really enjoyed this place. Being from South Texas, we know good Mexican food. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. The night we went they were offering 2 for 1 margaritas which were really good. We were not put off by the decor at all because it was no different from any Mexican food restaurant we've been to back home. Besides, this is Leesville, pretty much every restaurant in this area looks rundown. The place was clean, the food was good and the staff was friendly. We will definitely make this place our staple in the area for our Mexican food.

I love Los Mayas!! My husband and I were regulars here (even came here for Valetines day, lol) and the staff and food never dissapointed us. The wait staff is amazing, the food is great and the prices aren't bad. You also get free ice cream. We'd leave with full tummys and happy hearts...lol

Salsa taste like ketchup, and my meal was not so great. Overall will not be returning to this disappointment.

The outside of this restaurant is not very attractive. It looks very run down. The inside isn't much better. The decor seems very cheap. The salsa tastes like cocktail sauce. We had to ask to make sure it was actually the "salsa". Our entrees weren't very well presented. The wait staff wasn't very good either. Free ice cream is offered with every meal but we declined.

I love this place! It's the best Mexican in town for sure, if not the best restaurant. Their free chips and salsa are delicious! I always get the Chicken fajita taco salad, which is something I haven't seen anywhere else. Their food is always spot on, we've never had a bad experience there. They have a great wait staff too, very friendly. Oh, and you get free ice cream with your meal :] Gave 4 stars only because the decor could be a little better.

Dishes are huge, with plenty of food for everyone. The enchiladas a la crema are my wife's favorite. If you want a quick meal that is cheap and well made, hit this place up!

I honestly not the biggest fan of this place. It does have big portions and the service is passable but I always find somthing dirty whether is be a fork a cup or the floor it just grosses me out. The food in general is okay but not the best.

Ok place. Visiting from Texas. Awesome service. Food is ok. Could be better. Was hoping for a more authentic Mexican taste. Otherwise nice atmosphere.

This place was awful. I ordered a margarita on the rocks, which was pretty much bottled margarita mix over ice. I asked my server if they had other margarita selections and explained that my margarita wasn't any good, she offered to have another shot put in it. The margarita was still horrible and to top it off I got charged for the shot. The food prices were low and the quantities were large, but who cares about quantity if the quality of the food is not up to par. I'll stick with Mexico Lindo. The prices are higher, but at least you get what you pay for.

This place is sooooooo filthy. Do not go here, just don't. The bathrooms were disgusting and the door was broke. I saw a cockroach. The chips and salsa tasted cheap. The food is so bland. The tables were sticky and the staff was rude.

My husband and I moved to town two years ago and this was one of the first places we ate at in town. Hands down the best item on the menu and for the best price is the burrito San Antonio. We have tried a couple other items on the menu but were pretty unimpressed. Everything turns out different shades of grey and they use way too much oil and grease, which is evident after you have eaten your meal and it is left on your plate. We went one night with some friends and I wanted to get fish tacos. Unfortunately they were not on he menu, however I asked if they were able to make them and he said yes...worst mistake ever. He asked how many I wanted and I said three. When they came out they were swimming in grease, and it was nothing more than a corn tortilla and a tiny bit of fish, no other toppings! What? I expected more, and to top it off they charged me $10! I guess that's what I get for ordering something off he menu. During the summer the patio is nice but the interior is pretty drab and uninviting. Pretty outdated. I feel there is a lot of potential and I appreciate the complimentary chips and salsa and the staff for the most part is nice and attentive. Oh and the complimentary cream is nice too. I hope they take this constructive criticism into consideration.
