My family and I drove from Slidell, Louisiana, which is roughly three hours from this restaurant. It was about an hour from closing time, and the place was sparsely populated. We walked over to a large table for six near the window, even though there were only three of us. The waitress came up to us and apologetically asked us to move because the owner would have a fit. I told the waitress that we only drove three hours to eat here; perhaps she wouldn't want us to eat here after all. Her response was that she didn't know; all she could do was apologize. The entrees were good, but lukewarm. The pies were great, but the mood was already ruined.

Two pieces of chicken just weren't enough ! Sides seemed odd to me. Consider asking to double your potato salad instead of the dressing. Coffee was great. Most places like this closed 20 years ago so this one is worth the trip. The pie was great but two chicken dinners, two pieces of pie, two teas and two coffees was $35. (a whole pie was another $18). Still a 20 minute wait for a table detouring from a hurried trip down I-49 is something I will do again.

Lea's is known for their pies, and they don't disappoint. It is called Lea's Lunch Room, but this is, with all due respect, not a good place to get a full-course meal. Their "specialty" was their ham, which was marble and disgusting. Again, get lunch somewhere else, stop at Lea's for dessert! The pies, however, are a bit pricey. Also, brownie points for the vintage Depression-era atmosphere. It greatly adds to the decor.

Now of course your grammy makes the best pie in the world, but Lea's Lunch Room makes the second best. Try the cherry, pecan, or rhubarb. And for god's sakes, have it a la mode!

Famous for Pies. If you like Southern Style pies, then stop here for coffee and Coconut Cream, Pecan, Apple and many other pie types, that would make grandma jealous.

Great little country cafe with delicious home style cooking. It is worth going a little out of your way to get here. You have to have a piece of pie! The lemon was sho 'nuff tasty! They are all made from scratch and worth the calories. Come early because they sell out fast.

It has been nearly 15 years since I have been in the area to eat at Lea's and I glad to say that the food is still great. I ate there on a Sunday at noon (right when church let out) and was glad to grab a table quickly. The menu is limited each day, but that means that the food is perfect. I had turkey/dressing, peas/carrots, potato salad and a roll for $10 - it felt like Thanksgiving lunch at my grandmothers. You must have a slice a pie - they are known for their pies. The apple was warm right out of the oven and it was delicious. The staff is 'country' and so incredibly friendly you will feel right at home.

They have the best pies I have ever had. My favorites are the seasonal ones and the banana cream pie!

Really cute place in the middle of nowhere. Where do they sell all of those pies? Because they had a whole lot. Boxes and boxes. A different selection pies seem to be made every day. The particular day we stopped, they were featuring blackberry in addition to the standard apple, pecan, lemon etc. We ordered a slice of apple and blackberry. My husband can't resist an apple pie. Pies were good, but can't say we were blown away. I liked them better than my husband did, but then I'm not the pie person of the family. The apple had a nice flavor to it, better than average in my opinion with the addition of nutmeg. My husband did not like the texture of either the filling (not chunky enough) or the crust (not flaky enough). I agreed with him that the pie crust was of the soft rather than the flaky/crunchier variety. But some people may prefer it that way. Liked the flavor of the blackberry pie. That was very fresh. Decor was nice. This was the place we bought the $2.50 bottle of garlic hot sauce mentioned in another review.

The Banana Pie is filled with pudding and only has 4 slices of banana per slice. The ham was ok, but get the fried chicken. The portions are larger. When you do get pie, because that's probably why you came, make sure they warm it first.

Not a fan. The 2 pies we tried were not good at all. Actually more than half was left on our plates. The look of each piece (small pieces too) were not appealing. The service not all that good. Bland place. If you drive by, just keep on driving.
