Wonderful atmosphere, great sushi, and great service! Have been twice since moving here. Both times my guest and myself had sushi in the restaurant (not at the bar) and it was excellent. Have had quite a few of the rolls, and did not have a single one that was not well prepared. Recommend it for any suhsi lover.

My husband & I went there last night (it was my birthday) and we hadn't been in quite a while. Our waiter was terrible. We placed an order for an app, only to be told 30 minutes later "oh, we're out of the beef", with no explanation, apology or inquiry as to whether we wanted another. Ordering sushi was a nightmare. He didn't know any of the answers to our questions and had to go ask the sushi chefs everything. I ordered hibachi, which came with soup and salad. My husband's sushi came BEFORE my soup or salad and he had to ask where mine was. He told us "it was only his 3rd day so bear with him", but later he brought my hibachi while I was still eating my salad :( The only thing redeeming was the food was amazing. His attitude totally sucked. No explanations, and very poor communication.

Overcooked Filet. Small portions on Sunday Lunch which is charged at Dinner Price. Soup was very watery and had little flavor. The chef knew he overcooked the filet and made no acknowledgement when he went back to read the ticket. Very disappointed in this meal. Will not return anytime soon.

I gave it 2 stars cause its pretty and I haven't gotten sick yet. I say at the bar. Apparently they don't want the sushi chefs to talk to you. When the aggressive waitress came and asked for my order I asked to just order from the chefs. As I can get what I like and what's freshest. I like to give creative license to the chefs. That's not allowed here. So I ended up getting something very different from what I clearly ordered. Sushi is the Japanese word for flavored rice. In Japan chefs spend 2 years doing nothing but cooking rice. Here it is flavored, seemingly with river water. It all tasted muddy. They did have tea unlike some other sushi places around and I was surprised they had fried green tea ice cream, which is a real treat

We didn't have any wait for a table, and we chose to sit hibachi side since we weren't ordering sushi. The hibachi chef was quite personable and entertaining, and the waiter did his job very well. Everything tasted very good! I got the chicken and shrimp, and the shrimp were huge! The yum yum sauce was excellent as well. My husband got steak and it was tender and juicy and cooked just the way he liked it. It was our first hibachi experience in Lafayette, and I'm glad we chose Tokyo.

Location has a terrible reputation for going through failing businesses in short order. I was hoping this might do better. Unfortunately they did not, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them go. BEAUTIFUL interior design and build out. Cool atmosphere. Service was very slow, waitress did not listen particularly well when she did show up. Sushi just seemed sub-par and definitely felt pricey for the experience. I'm usually always up for giving a place another shot, but it's probably pointless. Would love for them to prove me wrong.

I actually really liked this place. Went to lunch with my family on a Sunday and the food and service were rather good! I'd definitely go back.

great atmosphere. love the layout. Waitress very attentive with taking orders and providing refills, she was also very good at answering questions concerning special requests (another customer asked for fried rice with no veggies, waitress informed her this would be prepared in kitchen) Chef very entertaining and friendly, especially to the children who were seated. Food was prepared as ordered and was plentiful (Fried rice, noodles, veggies, etc). I recommend the Tuna, seasons well and cooked medium, as requested. Will visit again in the future.

I thought the service and the food here were good. We had hibachi for my son's birthday and he really enjoyed it. We will dine here again.

I want to give this place 5 stars so badly. Going to Tokyo is a hit or miss and its very difficult how to tell when it will be a hit. I say that because my experiences have gone from great to not-so-great to great and back again. Sometimes the sushi is just phenomenal, other times the maki falls apart and has a chewy consistency, which is a sure sign that the ingredients are not fresh and probably sat there all day. Sometimes the fountain is dirty and has things floating in it, other times it looks so beautiful and they have a classical pianist playing, which of course is not authentic Japanese, but I think they are just trying to be different. I'm going to continue to go there and see how they progress.

Atmosphere is great, food is excellent and presentation is superb. Definitely one of the best, if not the best, sushi restaurants in Lafayette. We have been twice and we will definitely go back for more.

Would like to let you know that went there last weekend for dinner with my wife. First I must say my server was excellent. Second the food was the hands down worst that we have ever had At a Japanese steak house period. The soups base was extremely fish based which I have never had before at any other restaurant including your new Iberia location. Steak well if I wanted to over pay for a dry and flavorless steak would have gone to outback. Salad was excellent. Appetizer total waste of money. Toon way to long to come out and when it did was extremely unimpressed. Overall my recent dining experience which. Cost $100.00 without alcohol or sushi. Was say a lesson on where not to eat! As far as speaking to a manager they could not be bothered, that was dissappointing after the wonderful server we had. Would really like to know if you could help in remedying this or is this what is to be expected from your restaurant.
