Wife had the Red Dragon and the Tempura Shrimp roll. They were bland as hell. I don't know if I have ever had sushi that bland. I had the lunch special B. The sashimi was ok. The dynamite roll was way fishy. It's a shame because I've eaten here before and it was great.

Not bad, decent and average.

Though there aren't really any extraordinary sushi restaurants in Lafayette, this is definitely on of the best in town. Their ginger dressing on their house salad is a weekly craving of mine. It so good. Their sushi is always really tasty and fresh. They have a really nice waitstaff even though they have to wear really cheesy uniforms. The atmosphere is pretty average, nothing astounding.

Delicious, fresh fish! Best sushi place in Lafayette! Their rolls are big and they use fresh fish! Their tuna is just out of this world.. I moved to Texas and miss this place everyday! I didn't think it was this hard to find a place this good:(

My husband and I LOVE Samurai. Whether we're dining in or getting it to go--their sushi is always amazing. I usually get the California, Snow Crab or Red Dragon roll while my husband loves the Chirashi bowl. They normally only offer it as a lunch dish but I always ask if they can make it during the evening hours and they always say that it's no problem. The waitresses are also extremely friendly and kind when we decide to dine in. We rarely go out to eat but when we do, we always end up coming here because it's just that good. Best sushi in Lafayette in my opinion!

Visited Samurai a year ago for lunch and really enjoyed it, so we decided to go back today for lunch while in the area. Today's experience was pretty much the opposite of our last one. We arrived at 1:45, and as soon as we walk in the door, the waitress who spotted us didn't even say hello or welcome us to the restaurant. She instead informed us that the restaurant closes at 2:30, and spoke in a manner that conveyed annoyance with our arrival. We mentioned that since they're closing soon (in 45 minutes) we can eat somewhere else, and she replied with "oh no, I can seat you, but put your order in fast." She and another waitress talked loudly and I could even hear one of them cursing from the kitchen. They were extremely rude and completely unprofessional. The sushi was good, although the quality of the mixed fish in the dynamite roll was extremely questionable, and I didn't eat half of it. The container that the sushi chef got the mix from didn't have a label or date on it, either. The meal was otherwise very good, but initially being rushed by the service staff and feeling like more of an inconvenience than a respected paying customer soured the entire experience for me.

This place is seriously one of the best places to get sushi in Lafayette. It's always great to dine in but for some reason always better to go at home! The bento boxes are also very delicious with a variety of food, I always choose bento box C or D.

We came in just before lunch time closing. We were sat and greeted promptly by Dakota. We ordered 5 rolls all of which consisted of tuna, eel and white fish, none of it tasted fresh. Everything was way too overpriced for what we got. I would not recommend this place. The best part of this place was the fact they had alcohol!

Only the best place to eat sushi in Lafayette! Would be a five star place if the waitresses were good at their job. Big issues there!

One of Lafayette's best sushi places, for real. The atmosphere is nice, its off the beaten path and the food is great. You must try the tuna or salmon Snowcrab Salad! Tuna or salmon mixed in to snowcrab salad and topped off with some kind of creamy sauce and crunchies. So good! They have a really large roll menu with a bunch of unique options and the prices aren't bad.

We came on a Friday evening which was a mistake. It was so packed but they managed to seat myself, hubby and 15 month old daughter at the sushi bar.We usually would not sit there with her but we were starving!!! The server was super sweet. The food and drinks took way to long, even for a busy Friday night. I don't know what the deal is with Lafayette and sushi places here but they seem to want to fry too many rolls and put cream cheese in so many things. That's not what I'm looking for. I am looking for fresh and quality fish and rolls that don't seem like mostly rice! We spent almost 90 dollars and were so dissatisfied. We've recently relocated here from New Orleans where I have no trouble getting great sushi. I guess it's on to the next place to try bc I'm determined to find a fav sushi place in my new city!!!

One of my favorite sushi places in Lafayette. This is ALWAYS the go-to spot for my wife and I when we are thinking sushi. There are tons of places to get good sushi here in town, but Samurai is the most consistent when it comes to great quality and value for your buck. I can honestly say that I have never had an item here that I did not thoroughly enjoy. The wait staff has steadily improved over the time that I have been visiting Samurai. They are courteous and don't treat you like a fool when you have questions (like what in the WORLD is Tataki!?). Plus, they enjoy the food, so they can make great recommendations. If you are looking for a good time, sit at the sushi bar. The guys are entertaining to watch and are pretty hilarious. PS: Remember to tip the guys at the sushi bar if you sit there. They are tipped separately from the wait staff!

Great sushi, very good prices, the service was great, very quiet we were actually able to hold a conversation with the family. Our favorites are the samurai and the Miami roll with the salmon replaced with crab. Dipped in a little Soy & Sriracha sauce.

Samurai is a must visit in Lafayette if your a sushi lover. I have been coming to Samurai since it opened. I followed Tam (the owner) from another sushi location. He said something to me once that has stuck with me "sushi is expensive so I go out of my way to give you your moneys worth". I have eaten here so many times that I've lost count and have never been disappointed. Tam no longer rolls my sushi but his well trained staff does an excellent job. I won't go into naming all the specialty rolls or how good the service is. I will just say you will leave satisfied and get your moneys worth!!

Based on Yelp reviews, we tried Samurai! I am a native of Lafayette but have been away for 20 years and am now a resident of southern California. I'd like to think I know sushi and Samurai does not disappoint. My fiance and I picked 3 rolls and asked one of the chefs to suggest a fourth. He chose a spicy sashimi roll with ponzu sauce that blew us away. The rolls are huge compared to other places I've been. The service was great and I'd definitely go there again and recommend it to others!

Samurai is by far my favorite sushi spot in Lafayette. Everything I've eaten there has been fresh and delicious. Service is timely as well.

My wife and I took the recommendation of yelp and tried Samurai. We were glad we did! The sushi was excellent, as was the manager Linda. She took great care of us and we had a wonderful experience. We are sure to return soon!
